Lies of P Early Access and Release Timing Revealed; New Boss Fight Showcase Swings Out

Neowiz has been building up hype for their new souls-like for weeks now with all sorts of trailers and gameplay videos. Just last week, we got a peek at the game’s unique “Weapon Assemble” system in a snazzy weapon showcase. Today, the devs are ready to reveal the exact timing of when Lies of P early access players and general release players can get into the game; they’ve also released a new Boss Fight Showcase gameplay video to show off some of the game’s intense boss fights.

Lies of P Release Timing:

Lies of P early access begins on September 15, 2023, at 8am PDT/11am EDT/11pm HKT for Xbox and Steam players. For PlayStation players, early access begins at 9pm PDT on September 15 and at 12am EDT/12am HKT on September 16.

General release players can get into the game starting at 8am PDT/11am EDT/11pm HKT on September 18 for Xbox and Steam Players. PlayStation players can access general release at 9pm PDT on September 18 and at 12am EDT/12am HKT on September 19.

Boss Fight Showcase Gameplay

The video is a little over six minutes long, and you can check it out below:

Here are a few things we noticed about the boss fights included in this showcase:

Showcase Details

  • Of Machines and Men – The bosses in this gameplay keep very true to the game’s Victorian-steampunk-meets-eldritch-horror aesthetic. Several of the bosses were anthropomorphic robots, and those that weren’t were tied up with various machinery that appeared to augment their abilities.
  • Slow Down, Speed Up – As is common with Souls-like games, there’s a wide range of movement among the bosses shown here. Some, like the grotesque flesh monsters we saw, move with slow, lurching attacks, while others, like the robed woman and the tree-like monstrosity, aim to keep players on their toes with quick stabs and slashes.
  • Bosses of All Sizes – While some of the enemies that the player fights in this video don’t appear to be much larger than the player, there are a few bosses that absolutely tower over them. In particular, the last boss shown off is a gigantic four-armed robot that stands nearly half the height of the massive burning theater that the fight takes place in.
  • Need a Hand? – In the last boss fight, we also see a companion fighting side-by-side with the player. This companion is a dark figure with bright white hair and a speedy scythe, and it looks like they’ll be able to help deal damage to the boss and draw its attention mid-fight.

If you’re looking for more Lies of P content to keep the hype train rolling, feel free to check out the game’s extensive trophy list.

Lies of P launches on September 19 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. To learn more about the game’s pre-order bonuses and check out the Gamescom trailer, click here. Stay tuned to our Lies of P review hitting the site soon.

Killing Floor 3 Details Revealed in Behind the Scenes Video: “It’s a Little Bit Darker”

It’s been almost seven years since Killing Floor 2 released, and fans have been itching for some more brutal gory action. If you’re one of those fans, then the recent announcement of Killing Floor 3 should be very exciting for you.

Today, the Tripwire Interactive team released a Killing Floor 3 Behind the Scenes video detailing the inspiration and thought process behind the cinematic reveal trailer shown off at Gamescom. The video features Tripwire’s Creative Director, Bryan Wynia, as well as Neil Huxley and Milan Nikolic from Hydra Studios, the visual effects team behind the trailer itself. You can see it below:

The team also revealed a few minor details about the tone of the upcoming game during this video. Bryan Wynia stated that they’re “grounding [Killing Floor 3] in a little more action horror…. It’s a little bit darker, a little bit more serious, a little bit more intense.” This may come as a slight surprise to fans of the series, as Killing Floor has always had a twinge of absurd comedy in its DNA. Hopefully the game doesn’t veer far enough from its roots to upset long-time fans.

Killing Floor 3 currently has no release date. If you can’t wait for more frenetically bloody combat, however, Killing Floor 2 is still receiving updates as of a few months ago, so you can always check that out.

Killing Floor 3 will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Diablo 4 Korean Live Event Turns Into a Disaster With Empty Seats and Not a Lot of Interest

While Diablo 4 was released this June to critical acclaim and achieved huge sales,it seems the game’s staying power isn’t as impressive. As more players complete the main story and reach the end-game, they seem to lose interest, even with Blizzard’s seasonal format. Is Diablo 4 in trouble? This seems to be the case — at least in South Korea, as the “State of Diablo 4 Event that recently took place was met with a thud than a loud bang.

The event had barely any people attendance, and one of the streamers who was live-streaming was asked to stop when he inquired about the low turnout.

Check out images of the event and marvel at the empty rows of seats.

Diablo 4 live event in Korea

Per Reddit user  jinjin5000, the livestream didn’t fare that well either, as it barely managed to hit a peak of 300 concurrent watchers on the official Diablo channel.

The thing to note here is that Blizzard is quite popular in South Korea, with their games being played for extended periods. Diablo series in particular has enjoyed significant success in the region. So, the recent decline in interest is indeed surprising.

This event was discussed on Reddit, where players pointed to the lack of end-game content as the reason for the game’s drop in popularity. If the lack of content is the problem, then this might be short-lived, as Diablo 4 Season 2 titled “Season of Blood” is coming next month. Furthermore, Blizzard has announced annual expansions, which promise to deliver new content to players.

Blizzard would certainly be hoping to entice players back into the game with these new additions, but whether the content will meet players’ expectations remains to be seen. For now however, things are not looking too good for Diablo 4 especially in South Korea.

What do you make of this whole ordeal? Sound off in the comments below!

FORTNITE BATTLE ROYALE V26.10 UPDATE: BECOME THE SYMBOL OF PEACE WITH MY HERO ACADEMIA’S RETURN!

9.12.2023
By The Fortnite Team

The students of U.A. High School are back for another training mission! Prepare yourselves as Shoto TodorokiEijiro Kirishima, and Mina Ashido make their Item Shop debut. Also, grab Todoroki’s Ice Wall item on the Island, and you’ll be able to wield his powerful quirk for yourself.

FREEZE OUT YOUR FOES

Putting your enemies on ice has never been easier: get your hands on Todoroki’s Ice Wall item and you’ll gain the power to summon glacial shields on a whim! The Ice Wall has a massive pool of Health to protect you and your party from harm, and it won’t melt until it’s been completely destroyed. Because it’s so durable, be sure to choose your placement carefully!

Fortnite Ice Wall
While the Ice Wall boasts enormous defense capabilities, it’s plenty useful when attacking too. Drop one in the midst of a brawl and watch as everyone is knocked back with icy feet, causing them to slip and slide around. The Ice Wall item will be available until the end of the Season, giving you plenty of time to master its chilling effects.

How can you wield Todoroki’s powerful quirk in the first place? Ice Walls can be found from the ground, regular and Rare Chests, or All Might Supply Drops:

Fortnite All Might Supply Drop

All Might Supply Drops make their glorious return.

From the hero who always bounces back, Deku’s Smash has returned! This powerful ability can one-shot foes all the way from Delaware to Detroit if used properly.

Of course, there’s only one man who can grant the legendary power of One For All. To get your hands on Deku’s Smash, you’ll need to crack open an All Might Supply Drop! Deku’s Smash will be available until v26.20.

Rumor: Call of Duty 2025 Will Tie Up With COD 2024, and Will Reportedly Feature Black Ops 2 Maps

As Call of Duty rumors continue to ramp up leading up to the release of this year’s Modern Warfare 3, a new rumor has emerged claiming that Call of Duty 2025, which is purportedly being developed by Treyarch will be a direct sequel to COD 2024 and also include the original roster of multiplayer maps from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

According to Twitter user and well-known Call of Duty leaker @el_bobberto, Treyarch is looking to include maps from the 2012 classic as part of the lineup for their game releasing in 2025. This game will reportedly serve as a follow-up to Treyarch’s Call of Duty 2024, in the same way that Modern Warfare 3 is directly following last year’s Modern Warfare 2.

https://twitter.com/el_bobberto/status/1701015200441466935

This claim was backed up by Twitter user @TheMW2Ghost, who claims that they had also heard talk of plans to remaster Black Ops 2’s maps “some time back.”

While Call of Duty games are released yearly, usually, the game’s sub franchises alternate between years. If this rumor rings true, then that old tradition is being put aside; something we’re seeing with Modern Warfare 2 now leading up to Modern Warfare 3 just 12 months after instead of another COD sub franchise being released.

Rumors like these should always be taken with many, many grains of salt.  As the leaker himself stated in his original tweet, these plans are very likely to change in the next two years. It’s safe to assume that Activision will wait to see the fan reception for the remastered MW2 maps coming to this year’s Call of Duty before committing to anything for the next couple of games. Still, it would be great to see maps like Hijacked, Raid, and Standoff reimagined for the modern era.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is currently cycling its own fair share of rumors. We recently saw reported leaks of the game’s new tactical equipment system. To keep up with news about all things Call of Duty, stay tuned in to us here at MP1st.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 releases on November 10, 2023, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Battle.net and Steam.

Cities: Skylines 2 Announces Revamped Photo Mode Feature in Latest Developer Deep Dive

The final deep dive has been released for Cities: Skylines 2 by publisher Paradox Interactive, taking a peek at their revamped “Photo Mode” highlighting even more features to improve upon their first installment. This time, they’re showcasing the overhauled Cinematic and Free Camera modes, designed to give the player as much freedom as possible with which show off their bustling cities.

Take a look at their own trailer here:

While previously both Cinematic and Free Camera modes existed on their own, they’ve now been merged into one singular button in Cities: Skylines 2, simply called “Photo Mode”.

There’s a lot to unpack about said button and all of its subcategories, but it can be broken down into just a few points.

  • The Camera tab allows for adjustments to the camera itself, such as: Camera Body, Lens and Aperture Shape.
  • The Lens tab gives you control over Depth of Field, Motion Blur, Vignette, Film Grain, Bloom and Panini Projection settings.
  • The Color tab lets you change White Balance, Brightness and adjust the overall Color of your picture.
  • The Weather tab gives you godly abilities to change the weather as you see fit: clouds, fog and the atmosphere as a whole.
  • The Environment tab gives you the option to change the Time of Day, or set the simulation speed, useful for creating videos in the Cinematic mode.

Speaking of the Cinematic Camera feature, you can create full and beautiful videos in Cities: Skylines 2, showcasing your city utilizing whichever of the above properties you have set up. The feature also allows you set up various key points within your playback, allowing you to transition your view of the city through a multitude of angles and settings.
