Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater to Feature the Same Voice Actors, and Adds “New Elements” to the Original

With Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater officially announced, more information regarding the remake has come to light. In particular, the game is set up to “faithfully reproduce” the original Metal Gear Solid 3 game from back in 2004 while also adding in “new elements” to it.

The official Metal Gear Twitter account shared this information on the platform:

METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER will faithfully reproduce the story and game design of MGS3, whilst adding new elements too. #MetalGearSolid #MGSDelta #MG35th

While the tweet never really delved into what “new elements” actually meant, it’s likely referring to quality of life features and other systems that don’t significantly impact the game’s story.

One other detail that many Metal Gear fans may be happy to learn is that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will feature the same voice actors from the original game. Here’s the full quote taken from an official Konami article:

The remake will star the original voice characters, rich storyline and expansive features of combat survival in harsh environments evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound.

This means that we can expect actors such as David Hayter (Naked Snake) and Jim Piddock (Major Zero) to reprise their roles. We aren’t sure if all of the main cast will return for MGS Delta, but it’ll be interesting to hear their voices once again in a modern Metal Gear game.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has no release date just yet, though the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection bundle is set to launch this Autumn 2023.

Phantom Blade Zero Console Exclusive to PS5, Also Coming to PC

Possibly the biggest reveal yesterday was S-Games’ Phantom Blade Zero; a new action game that’s based on Chinese Kung-Fu, which looked amazing.

At the reveal, the game was mentioned to be in development on the PS5. While it’s natural for Sony to not mention any other platforms other than its own in its own show, it seems we can now confirm that Phantom Blade Zero is indeed a console exclusive to the PS5, though it’s also coming to PC.

This info was gleamed over on the game’s official website where the platforms for the game were shown:

As you can see, it plainly shows the PS5, Steam and the Epic Games Store logos which confirm it’s coming to Sony’s platform and PC. Glaringly missing is the Xbox Series X|S logo.

For now, it’s not known whether Phantom Blade Zero is a timed console exclusive to the PS5. We’ve reached out to S-Game and if we hear anything back, we’ll be sure to update the article with the info.

According to S-Game, “In Phantom Blade Zero, you’re Soul, an elite assassin serving an elusive but powerful organization known simply as “The Order”. He was framed for the murder of The Order’s patriarch and gravely injured in the manhunt that ensued. A mystic healer managed to save him from death, but makeshift cure only lasts for 66 days. He must find out the mastermind behind it all before his time runs out, against powerful foes and inhuman monstrosities.”

Guilty Gear Strive Season 3 to Have “More Surprising Contents” Than Season 2, Says Arc System Works

With Asuka R’s release in Guilty Gear Strive earlier today, this caps off the game’s second season. Of course, if you’ve been keeping tabs on the game (or of MP1st), you’ll know that Guilty Gear Strive Season 3 is in development for the fighting game.

While there’s no known date when Season 3 will start just yet, players can expect “more surprising contents” from it according to Arc System Works.

Here’s what Ken Miyauchi, Producer of Guilty Gear Strive to say about Guilty Gear Strive Season 3 when asked about it in an interview with MP1st.

MP1st: Season 3 is a much-welcomed surprise, though with the news of development just starting (?) we suppose we won’t hear much about it for a while. What is the likelihood we see or hear anything about it later this year?

Miyauchi: I also want to talk a lot about our Season 3 plan, but I can only say that we are planning to make Season 3 to have more surprising contents than Season 2.

One of the surprises in Season 2 was the announcement of Bedman; a character that many believed to be dead. We asked Arc System Works whether they be opposed to resurrecting more “dead” characters, and although they didn’t confirm that we would see more, they did state that if they could make it make sense for a compelling story, they wouldn’t rule it out entirely.

What sort of surprises are you hoping for? Maybe more returning characters? Possible crossover ones? Let us know down in the comments, Be sure to tune in later this week for our full interview with Arc System Works!

Konami Teases More Titles for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection

Yesterday, during the PlayStation Showcase, after months of rumors, Konami officially announced the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake alongside the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 featuring MGS 1/2/3. The master collection allows the fans to play the titles (MGS 1, MGS 2, and MGS 3) “as they were, as first released on the latest platforms.” Though, it seems like Konami will be adding more titles to the MGS Master Collection.

Upon looking closely, Konami’s website teases “stay tuned for more information,” with a “?” logo under the list of games coming to the Master Collection.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection

It seems like Konami has plans to launch more titles from the series for the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, possibly including MGS 4 or Metal Gear Rising. However, nothing has been confirmed or announced regarding that as of yet.

The first volume of the Metal Gear Solid Collection, which consists of MGS, MGS 2, and MGS 3 comes out in Autumn 2023 for “the latest platforms,” whereas the MGS 3 remake will be coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at an unannounced date.

Alan Wake 2 Physical Edition: THQ Nordic Volunteers for Duties; Gameplay Debut Running on PS5 Confirmed

With Alan Wake 2 set to release on October 17 later this year, more details surrounding the game have been released, such as the fact that the sequel will be a digital-only release in order to maintain a $60 price point.

While digital-only releases can be a disappointment to some, it seems as though a physical edition release isn’t entirely out of the question, with THQ Nordic offering to release the game physically. The video game publisher publicly stated its interest on Twitter to work together with Remedy Entertainment on the project:

@alanwake @remedygames I mean… we did the disc version of Alan Wake for PC back in the day ICYMI 😉 And just because ONE person (or company) does not love physical, there is plenty who still do. Give it some thought. We’d love to go at it again! Full circle and all.

Alan Wake 2 was featured during the recent PlayStation Showcase, and according to Thomas Puha, Communications Director at Remedy Entertainment, the footage shown during the event came straight from the PS5. Puha confirmed this in a recent tweet:

The Alan Wake 2 trailer in the PlayStation Showcase was 100% running on PlayStation 5. I want to really point that out. We did say in 2021 that we are gonna push the graphics hard on this one. I think we’ll have the best looking game in 2023

Alan Wake 2 is set to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 17, and until something comes out of THQ Nordic’s proposition, you can expect it to be a digital-only release.

Rust Update 1.70 Drops for Cultivator Patch This May 25, Full Patch Notes Listed

Rust update 1.70 is now out and this brings the big Cultivator content drop to the game. Players can expect a new farming system, the terrain revamp and more! Check out the official Rust Cultivator patch notes for May 25 below.

Rust Update 1.70 Patch Notes | Rust Cultivator Update Patch Notes:

NEW FARMING SYSTEM!

Farming 2.0 introduces new items and systems allowing you to create a fully automated food source, provided you set it up correctly. Additionally, you gain control over various aspects of your crops, including growth rate, resistance to low temperatures, and yield per crop with the introduction of the new plant genetics system.

To embrace the life of a farmer, you’ll need a planter, some seeds, and a suitable location for your farm. It’s advisable to find a spot near a river, as this allows you to establish an automated watering system for your crops!

Once you have dedicated space for your planters, or even a unique farm base to house them, it’s time to focus on your irrigation system. Start by installing a water pump within your selected water source. This step is crucial as it enables you to utilise the new items introduced with Cultivator to create your own automated irrigation systems.

The irrigation system, also known as Fluid IO, is remarkably straightforward to set up. Simply power up your water pump and use the hose tool to connect it to your sprinklers. To enhance system efficiency, take advantage of additional new items like fluid splitters and fluid switchers. These components provide better overall control and can greatly reduce the water consumption of your farm.

If your planters are located inside a base, remember that plants require a source of light to grow. Installing ceiling lights adjacent to your sprinklers is the best way to provide what’s needed. With that in place, all that’s left to do is plant your seeds in the planter boxes and make it rain!

GET A BREW ON!

Another exciting addition to the game is the Mixing Table. This new feature allows players to craft potent tea potions using berries, as well as craft other important items like pistol and rifle ammo, explosives, low-grade fuel, and gun powder.

There are a total of 6 types of teas to craft, each with its own unique recipes and buffs. Depending on the type of tea you brew, you can benefit from radiation protection, increased yields of scrap/wood/ore when collecting these items, health regeneration over time, or even increased maximum health. Basic teas require barries for crafting, but by utilising the mixing table and combining multiple teas of the same type, you can upgrade your tea potions.

There are three different levels: basic, advanced, and pure. While pure teas are challenging to obtain, their effects are exceptionally strong once you consume them!

TERRAIN REVAMP IS HERE!

This release is the most substantial visual update ever introduced to Rust Console Edition. A visual overhaul that transforms the world with new terrain, trees, rocks, cliffs, grass, as well as the new lighting enhancements. The feedback from players on the Public Testing Branch has been nothing short of amazing, and the performance gains resulting from these changes elevate it beyond it being merely cosmetic. Notably, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles showcase the most remarkable improvements. In case you haven’t had the opportunity to witness it yet, here’s an exclusive sneak peek:

THEMED SKINS

As to be expected in a content update, we couldn’t overlook the addition of thematic skins that come with it! As you can see, the Farmer set has been prominently teased throughout this Dev Blog, but we also have two other exciting additions, the Milk Commando and Tenderiser! Which one will you choose?

If there are other changes revealed as part of today’s patch, we’ll be sure to update the article.

Aliens: Dark Descent Gameplay Overview Video Explains the Game

Tindalos Interactive has released the Aliens: Dark Descent gameplay overview video, and this five-minute clip explains the game’s story, and more importantly, how the game plays.

If you’re looking for an action-strategy game that brings the terror of fighting xenomorphs, this might just be the thing.

Aliens: Dark Descent features a fully fledged tactical campaign filled with tense moments, deep strategy, and terrifying revelations. As you explore further, you’ll progress in a complex story and attempt to solve the mysteries of Planet Lethe. Players will manage their squad as a single unit, thanks to innovative and intuitive controls on both keyboard/mouse and controller. Marines react intelligently to orders thanks to a unique Squad Behavior System that dispatches them automatically on the field. When the Xenomorph threat gets overwhelming, they can slow down time at any moment to focus on tactical decisions in the heat of battle.

Marines are well-equipped to alter their environment and deal with hostiles. Flamethrowers can be used to engulf corridors and condemn enemy paths. Suppressive fire is effective at slowing down your enemies, and sentry guns are best used to sustain tough encounters while making sure not to run out of resources.

Every run is unique as the Xenomorphs adapt to player behavior and action. Each choice remains unaltered as players explore extensive, open and persistent levels. Managing the squad’s health and stress levels is equally as important as clearing objectives. And remember, when a Marine dies, they are permanently gone for good.

After each mission, players return to their ship, the Otago: a hub to heal and recruit Marines, as well as to research and develop new tech that improves gear. With five Marine classes available, assign a role to each of your Marines and create a stronger squad to explore further down and battle against an onslaught of iconic Xenomorph creatures.

Aliens: Dark Descent fights its way out this June 20 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
