For now, the studio has not released the official patch notes for this title update, but here are the issues Respawn is investigating (via the official Apex Legends Trello board):

Destiny 2 Season 16 HDR, Vanguard, Crucible & Nightfall Changes Detailed

Bungie is ramping up the hype for their game’s biggest expansion yet, with their latest weekly update detailing the Destiny 2  Season 16 HDR, Vanguard, Crucible, and Nightfall changes to come! The latest TWAB also goes over Ritual Reputations and the state of Lost Sectors, as well as the usual reminders of everything players should claim before The Witch Queen drops this February.

One of the most notable things checking out in the latest TWAB is the HDR settings for Destiny 2. Bungie has outlined the changes coming to HDR in-game for The Witch Queen, and you can check it out below.

Destiny 2 Season 16 HDR, Vanguard, Crucible & Nightfall Changes:

Destiny 2 HDR Needs Love Too

Destiny is a beautiful game, and we want our players to enjoy the majesty in all its glory.  Our resident magical space wizards (aka the Destiny devs) have cooked up some amazing new solutions to take the adventure we love and make it even more stunning, thanks to some new updates to our High Dynamic Range (HDR) implementation.
Here’s what you need to know about the HDR changes launching next month with The Witch Queen:
Windows 10 (and up): Windowed HDR is now supported.
  • To use windowed HDR, players must have the in-game HDR option enabled, and Windows 10 configured to have “Use HDR” enabled for the specific display.
  • When playing Destiny in windowed HDR, the game will automatically swap between HDR and SDR if the window moves to a display without HDR support.
  • All players (SDR or HDR) that use the software OBS on Windows 10 (and up) with Window Capture: ensure the ”Capture Method” is set to “Windows Graphics Capture” or capturing will display a black screen. The BitBlt setting will continue to work for previous versions of Windows.
Windows 10 (and up): Windowed Fullscreen should provide the same (or better) performance compared to exclusive Fullscreen.
  • Under the hood, Destiny now uses DXGI flip model on Windows 10 (and up). Dig it and want to learn more? Check out more detailed information, which can be found here.
Screenshots are now supported when playing in HDR on PC.
  • Screenshots must be taken using the in-game screenshot feature.
  • HDR screenshots will be tone mapped to SDR and saved as lossless PNG files.
Display calibration improvements (all platforms).
  • Players in HDR will see an updated calibration UI screen to adjust their settings.
  • HDR calibration settings have been updated with friendlier functionality to accommodate the wide range of HDR display capabilities and viewing environments.
  • SDR and HDR calibration settings are no longer stored account-wide and old settings have been reset.
  • Display calibration settings are now stored per-platform: PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, PS4, PS5, and Stadia.
  • SDR brightness settings no longer affect the game when playing in HDR.
  • Xbox players going through new account bootflow will no longer be incorrectly shown the SDR calibration screen if HDR is active.

Besides HDR content, Bungie has also raised attention on the upcoming changes to the Destiny 2 Vanguard operations, Nightfalls, and of course, the Crucible.

Vanguard Ops

As we discussed in an earlier TWAB, the Season 13 Battlegrounds activities have been added to the Vanguard Strikes playlist, and this playlist has been renamed Vanguard Ops.
As a reminder, the four new Battlegrounds coming with the new Season are:
    • Behemoth – Nessus
    • Oracle – Nessus
    • Hailstone – Europa
    • Foothold – Cosmodrome

The actual Battlegrounds activities are the direct-launch/no-champion version of the Battleground, as these match the length and difficulty of most of the Strikes in the playlist.

Any bounties, quests, Triumphs, or challenges used to reference strikes now references Vanguard Ops instead.

Nightfall

We have been slowly iterating on the pressures and challenges we apply at each of the Nightfall difficulty ranks. One big outlier was the strike-specific modifiers with damage boosts and other effects that enhanced boss attacks. While some of them were cool and fun (who doesn’t like getting yeeted five miles by Sedia?), they were generally inconsistent and were pushing tactical play more than the intended buildcrafting. So, we have removed these from Nightfalls starting at Hero. We also added a new style of burn called Acute – which will increase player damage taken from a specific element by 50 percent and increase player damage done by 25 percent. Most Nightfalls already had a 25 percent damage received modifier, so this will be an across-the-board increase of 25 percent in both directions for that element.
Secondly, we are moving the Seasonal Strike modifiers that we introduced in Season 15 from the Vanguard playlist to Nightfalls. These are unique buffs and boosts that aid you if you lean into the combat themes of the Season – for Season 16, they are themed to Glaive and Void usage. These rotate weekly, and appear on all Hero, Legend, and Master Nightfalls. We look forward to your feedback on these as we continue to iterate! Ah, and here’s a quick preview of some sweet loot that you’ll be able to earn from Nightfalls next season. Look familiar?
We have also been iterating on how we communicate the shields present in a strike (if Match Game is on). Like the Legend and Master Lost Sectors, all Nightfall activities now have a modifier that lists the shields used.

Crucible

While we don’t have any specific changes to talk about with the Crucible or Iron Banner in this TWAB, we would like to address the longer respawn times we implemented in the 30th Anniversary patch, and then removed a few days ago.

When we original implemented this change, we were hoping it would spread out the pace of combat and reduce the number of times players spawned in and were immediately killed by the same Super that had just wiped them out. Despite the initial intention, feedback has shown that this wasn’t the best solution for the issues we were trying to solve. When we looked at the data, we saw unclear/mixed messages, partially because we implemented the change at the same time as large ability tunings, and the start of the Dawning:

    • Kills per minute were slightly down in the modes with longer respawns.
    • Team score delta went up a little, but we saw the same jump at the start Season 15, and it eventually went away. This is likely a larger player base coming in during a new content drop.
    • Match duration went up slightly in Control and Iron Banner, but not in Clash.
    • Inversely, Mercy Rates are down in Control and Iron Banner, but up in Clash.
    • The rate at which players quit went up slightly when these changes were introduced, but almost immediately came back down. In Control, 10% more games ended due to time. In Iron Banner, 5% more games ended due to time, but in Freelance Iron Banner, 5% less games ended due to time.
When looking at both feedback and analytics and seeing little definitively positive, it was the obvious choice to revert Crucible respawns back to their original values.

Check out the full TWAB for a detailed breakdown on changes coming to Lost Sectors  as well as other important stuff to know before The Witch Queen’s release this February 22.

Hyper Scape Server Shutdown Set for April 28

Ubisoft announced today that they are killing off their battle royale, with Hyper Scape dead as servers shut down on April 28. Announced via a short blog post, Hyper Scape’s lifespan lasted barely two years following its initial release in August 2020. Check out the official announcement below.

Here’s the official Hyper Scape server shutdown announcement from Ubisoft, signalling that the game is dead by the time April rolls around:

Contenders,

We have made the difficult decision to end development of Hyper Scape and shut the game down as of April 28th. We set out to create a vertical, close-quarters, and fast-paced shooter experience and we are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey. We will be taking key learnings from this game into future products.

To the Hyper Scape community, thank you for your passion and dedication to the world of Neo Arcadia both inside and outside of the game. Your devotion to the game we built will always be cherished.

Reach out to us if you have questions.

Sincerely, Hyper Scape

Despite a dwindling player base, Hyper Scape’s closure was met with sad reactions over on the official Twitter announcement, meaning that the game is beloved by some players in spite of its flaws. Here’s hoping Ubisoft can find a battle royale formula for themselves in the future, one that will be enjoyed by players without enduring a rather unceremonious death.

In case you missed it, one of Ubisoft’s other multiplayer title, For Honor, is still alive and kicking years after its release. Check out the latest patch notes for the latest For Honor update here.

Horizon Forbidden West PS4 Pro Gameplay Released by Guerrilla

As its release date grows ever closer, Guerrilla Games has now shared Horizon Forbidden West PS4 Pro gameplay for those still playing on last-gen systems! Given the chip shortages being experienced worldwide, and the fact that most people still cannot get a PlayStation 5 without paying an arm and a leg, this gameplay footage should inform most PlayStation players on how well the game will perform on last-gen consoles. Check out the footage below.

Posted over on the PlayStation Blog, the footage consists of several GIFs of Horizon Zero Dawn in action on the PS4 Pro.

The Utaru tribe make their home in Plainsong, although the lands they live in have been heavily affected by the mysterious red blight. In this clip, you get a glimpse at their way of living in the massive thatched canopies, built atop Old World radar dishes – both serene and defensible.

Clamberjaws are a dangerously agile enemy, who will keep you on your toes throughout a fight. Take a look at what you can expect when you come across them in the wilds, in this extended clip.

Remember the Bristlebacks shown in our announce trailer? They make for a worthy opponent, especially when found in herds as encountered in this clip.

In case you missed it, a new trailer showing off the game’s cast was released a week ago, and you can check out that one here.

Star Wars 1313 Boba Fett Gameplay Footage Surfaces Online

Footage of the cancelled Star Wars 1313 Boba Fett gameplay has surfaced online, with the game picking up quite the attention once more! The footage sees Boba Fett in several sequences that showcase the game partially; although incomplete, it looks amazing, and it really is a shame that the project has been put on hold indefinitely. Check out the footage below.

Provided by creative director James Zachary and uploaded to YouTube by The Vault, the three minutes of footage is cut into three parts. The first sees Boba Fett walking through an open market of sorts in Star Wars 1313, and the atmosphere really gives off a ‘seedy underbelly’ feel. The second one is much more action-packed, with Boba Fett caught up in a chase sequence. Although a lot of the textures are clearly missing, the animations are very much on point and it pretty much feels like ‘Uncharted’ in space. The last part is just a compilation of various animations for Boba Fett and the other characters in the cancelled game.

In case you missed it, Respawn Entertainment recently announced that they are undertaking three Star Wars titles, and you can read the details on it here.

For Honor Update 2.33 Drops for Frozen Shores Y5S4 2.33.1 This Jan. 27

Ubisoft has released the For Honor update 2.33 title update, which is also called the Frozen Shores Y5S4 version 2.33.1 patch! This includes a new fighter, balance changes and more! Read on for the For Honor January 27 patch notes.

For Honor Update 2.33 Patch Notes | For Honor Frozen Shores Y5S4 Patch Notes | For Honor Update 2.33.1 Patch Notes | For Honor January 27 Patch Notes:

Note that this title update seems to combine two patches into one, so don’t get confused with the changes and version numbers.

PATCH NOTES 2.33.1 – FOR HONOR
PS4: 1.71Gb, Xbox One: 2.11 Gb, PC: 2.11 Gb
IMPROVEMENTS

FIGHTERS

Shinobi

  • Front/Side Dodge Kick miss recovery is now 600ms (was 500ms)
  • Front/Side Dodge Kick miss recovery no longer allows stance change in the last 100ms
  • Back Flip now has iframes and dodge frames at 100ms (was 0ms)
  • Front Roll can now target swap
  • Teleport Kick no longer can be accessed by holding GB (now only checks for tap input, not hold)
  • Front Roll and Back Flip no longer allow stamina regeneration
  • Chain links to Teleport Kick are now 66ms longer so that players can switch stance then dodge comfortably
  • Attack Recoveries can now cancel to Back Flip from 200ms to 300ms (was 200ms to 400ms)
  • Kick Flip miss recovery cancel to back flip chain link now is 400ms to 500ms (was 100ms to 600ms)
  • Shooting Stars recovery is now 100ms longer (no longer guarantees front dodge kick when it lands)
  • Flip Kick now costs 15 stamina
  • Back Flip and Front Roll now cost 6 stamina

Developer’s comment: Now that we’ve had Shinobi go from Testing Grounds into Live, we now make a number of nerfs to Shinobi here based on its over-performance.

Firstly, we make the Front/Side Dodge Kick punishable on Miss.

Secondly, we reduce the window of opportunity to enter Back Flip so that Shinobi is not able to notice the opponent’s action and actively react in time to Back Flip when necessary.

Thirdly, we nerf the Stamina costs of certain moves to make Shinobis slow down their combat output, and introduce moments where they need to consider if they really want to spend the stamina.

Finally, we nerf Shooting Stars so that Shinobi’s aren’t comboing it into Front Dodge Kick.

PATCH NOTES 2.33.0 – FOR HONOR
PS4: Gb, Xbox One: Gb, PC: Gb
NEW HERO – PIRATE

The Pirates have developed a fighting style that is all their own by engaging with enemies from across the seas. Armed with their razor-sharp cutlass and one-of-a-kind pistol, they engage their opponents with a rush down style that can be relentless. They apply continuous pressure by mixing Pistol Blast and Heavy Attacks that Chain one after the other.

  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Adaptable Fighting Style
  • Counter-Attacker

Special Capabilities

  • Able to use Feats inside of Chains
  • All Heavy Attacks, including Cavalier Dance and Walk the Plank, lead directly to your choice of Pistol Blast or Feats
  • Can cancel all Attack recoveries with a Dodge

IMPROVEMENTS

FEATS

  • Feats now use an input buffer of up to 300ms.

Developer’s comment: to improve input comfort, Feats now use the input buffer to hold your input for 300ms. This applies globally to all heroes.

Note that this does not mean you can use your Feat anytime, it just means that you don’t have to be out of your Recovery before pressing the Feat input – you can press it a bit early, and the system will hold this input until such a time as your character is allowed to launch the Feat, and do so. It should just make things a bit more comfortable.

CUSTOMIZATION

  • Improved Material coloration system to grant more color precision.

Developer’s comment: Material color would not look quite right when applied on colored surfaces such as wood or leather. The coloration of chosen material would offset depending on the color of the surface it was being applied to. New material system mutes the surface colors before applying material coloration, significantly boosting color accuracy. Accurate color control also leads to possibility of new, more subtle material colors.

Hunt Showdown Update 1.7.2 Out for Major PC Patch This Jan. 27

Crytek has released the Hunt Showdown update 1.7.2 patch for PC this January 27, and this is for a major update! Check out the complete patch notes below for all the changes that came with this latest update.

Hunt Showdown Update 1.7.2 Patch Notes:

Hunters,

Update 1.7.2 is now live. Check out the detailed patch notes below:

Please note, we have introduced a number of tentative fixes to help with performance issues, missing geometry in compounds and a number of other fixes that are not directly noted below. Please let us know if you continue to experience issues around this.

Dark Tribute

Mr. Orwell Chary is looking into ways to give the AHA advantage in the Hunt and is looking for donations from only the most experienced Hunters. Every day after finishing their missions, players will gain bloodline XP that will make them eligible to give tribute. Once certain thresholds are met, offer blood for Mr. Chary’s Dark Tribute and be reimbursed* with one of many rewards including: Hunt Dollars, Blood Bonds, Hunter slot, Bloodline XP, Equipment, Upgrade points, Legendary item instance, Legendary item unlock, or the exclusive Dark Tribute Hunter Bad Hand: Bad at faro and worse at poker, John Robertson was determined to find glory and gold at a card table. But he was fated to become the Revenant, and he lived as he died – making the best of a bad hand.

There are 4 thresholds of XP that the player needs to reach:

  • Players can “offer the blood” after earning 2500 XP
  • Players can “offer the blood” after earning 5000 XP
  • Players can “offer the blood” after earning 7000 XP
  • Players can “offer the blood” after earning 10000 XP or by paying 100 BBs

Players who do not have enough experience to reach the final threshold may make a deal with Mr. Chary by paying him Blood Bonds but remember: Players can only do the final Tribute after reaching the first 3 thresholds.

Progression resets every 24h. If the player used and unlocked all attempts, they can’t offer blood until the next day, when clock “resets”.

(*the XP used to offer blood will still be added to your bloodline progression as normal)

First Bounty Extraction bonus

With this update, we are bringing a new feature called “First Bounty Extraction Bonus”. This means that players can earn bonus XP and Hunt dollars for their first successful bounty extraction with each hunter. The bonus applied is as follows:

  • +15% Hunter XP.
  • +20% Hunt Dollars.

This bonus is a fixed percentage that will be added to the total XP and Hunt Dollars earned during the first mission where you successfully extract with the bounty.

This reward is not limited to once per day, but once per Hunter each day. Whether it is an existing hunter or a new recruit, the first successful bounty extraction with each hunter in a given day will grant this bonus.

Successfully extracting from a mission with the Bounty at least once per day for 5 days will grant additional rewards. Players will earn 25BB from this 5-day streak. Once completed, the progress will reset, and you can begin your streak again. However, if you miss a day, the progress will reset.

New Weapon Variants

Berthier Mle 92 Deadeye

Like other deadeye variants this weapon has been modified with a side mounted Deadeye scope making it easier to hit those longer-range shots. This new variant can also be paired with the Deadeye Scopesmith trait.

Scottfield Model 3 Spitfire

This innovative design includes an addition to the trigger guard in the form of an extra finger hold. This grip provides an extra point of leverage, making it much easier to cock the hammer of the weapon. The barrel has also been shortened to reduce weight which allows for even better ergonomics while the shooter is charging the weapon.

This means the Rate of Fire is significantly higher than the Base Scottfield Model 3, however the shortened barrel reduces the weight at the front of the weapon which results in higher recoil and a decrease in hip fire accuracy. Since the left hand is used to fan the weapon, the extra finger handle does not affect the rate of fire when fanning this weapon.

Scottfield Model 3 Precision

This version of the Scottfield adds a stock to the pistol grip, making a much more stable platform for shooting. This drastically reduces the recoil and increases the overall accuracy of the weapon. This addition also provides a more comfortable holding position, making it slight easier to prepare, resulting in a decrease in time between shots.

Scottfield Model 3 Swift

The top break action of the Scottfield already provides an increase to reload speeds in comparison to other revolvers in the arsenal. The addition of a speed loader mechanism means that the reload is even faster with the Model 3 Swift. These simple devised allow for all 6 rounds to be pre-loaded into them which are then ready to insert into the chamber and reload all rounds simultaneously.

However, this addition means that you can no longer top off this weapon one bullet at a time as all spare rounds must be kept in the speed loader for the next quick reload. This means any rounds left in the weapon while reloading will be ejected and lost to make room for the next load.

AI

  • Implemented several dedicated server performance improvements tied to the AI cast.

Audio

  • Crouch-walking over broken glass/cans is now slightly louder than crouch-walking on other surfaces. This sound is audible at roughly 25m.

Hunter

Friendly Fire

  • The damage reduction from explosives to yourself and teammates has been removed.
  • This means damage from the following is applied to you and your teammates as normal:
    • Dynamite (sticks and bundles)
    • Explosive ammo (including Explosive crossbow bolts)
    • Red Barrels
    • Bomb lance splash Damage

Developer note:

Recently, we have seen an increase in players attempting to exploit the friendly-fire damage reduction. Due to this, we have decided to remove friendly fire/self-damage reduction that we had previously introduced to the game. This means that you will need to be far more careful when using explosives near your teammates as they will now take the exact same amount of damage as enemy players.

Bounty Revive

  • Increased the damage dealt when reviving a red-skulled teammate with the bounty from 25 to 50 HP.
    • Players performing this revive will not be able to kill themselves accidentally. If you have 50HP or less while performing this revive, it will stop at 1HP but will still finish the revive process.

Developer note:

The bounty revive mechanic was introduced to give an advantage to those that play the objective. We are very pleased with this feature overall, but we must acknowledge that it can potentially create some difficult situations, especially for solo players taking on teams.

Increasing this damage to the size of a big health chunk will ensure that at some point, the reviving player will run out of healing regardless of the health chunk configuration, which results in the reviving player becoming just as vulnerable as the teammate they are reviving. This should give solo players a much better chance to even out the odds during a fight.

We will continue to monitor the feedback around these changes and if need be, will make further adjustments in the future.

Gunplay

Hunting Bow

  • Increased the damage dealt when the bow is at minimum draw.
    • This means that performing a quick shot by tapping the fire button with inflict more damage to enemies.
  • Increased the damage multiplier of the Basic Arrow against Grunts and Hellhounds.
    • This will increase the chances of performing a OHK on these enemies.
    • Hitting these enemies at center mass from 15m will have a much higher chance of performing a OHK (one hit kill).

Developer note:

While we feel the Bow is in a good position in the current meta, we still want to give it some more general utility so that it remains a viable option in most situations. These adjustments will ensure that it is slightly more versatile for both PvE and PvP encounters.

Dragon Breath Custom Ammo Type

  • Increased the damage across all barrel lengths to improve the chance of landing a one hit kill (OHK). The OHK ranges for Dragonbreath are as follows:
    • Long and medium Barrel: 5-6m
    • Short Barrel: 3-4m

Developer note:

It’s important to note that a OHK at these ranges is still not a guarantee. A solid hit with the majority of pellets from this shell will still be required to ensure the OHK.

Winfield 1873 Full Metal Jacket ammo

  • New Custom ammo type available for the Winfield 1873 and Winfield 1873c:
    • Similar in function to other FMJ ammo types, this increases wall penetration and the effective range.
    • Price – $35

Higher Rate of Fire weapon changes (Dual Wield, Levering and Fanning)

  • Significantly increased the recoil for all pairs of Dual wield pistols making it harder to reacquire your target for a follow-up shot.
  • Dual wielding, fanning, and levering no longer benefit from an accuracy bonus while crouching.

Developer note:

We know that there has been some friction within the community regarding these high rate of fire options, but we are hoping these changes will help to alleviate some of these frustrations. These changes are aimed at ensuring these options require a lot more skill to use. The extra recoil for Dual wielding will ensure players need to use more control and trigger discipline while using them. We feel that these changes will ensure that it is a bit harder for players to fall victim to an ambush from shots from Dual wielding, fanning, and levering.

Explosive Crossbow adjustments
  • Significantly reduced the aim-punch that occurs when hit by the blast of an Explosive bolt. This means you will encounter much less screen movement when caught in the area of effect.
  • Reduced the spare ammo for Explosive bolts to ¼ (previously 1/6).
  • Slightly increased the hip fire spread for Explosives bolts.

Developer note:

We feel that overall, the Explosive crossbow is in a good spot in the meta, however we have seen several exploitive strategies appear (primarily on console) which means some changes are required. Along with the explosive changes mentioned in an earlier dev note, these changes are aimed at reducing some of the pain points that are experience, mostly from our console community. We also hope that by reducing the aim-punch this will give players a chance to reach quicker when caught in the explosion.

Trip Mines

  • Poison Trip mines now produce a poison cloud that persists for 30 seconds.
    • When triggered, a more intense level of poison will be applied to the player that set it off.
  • Alert Trip mines will now deal a small amount of burning damage to players (slight charcoal of your health bar).
  • Alert Trip mines can no longer be triggered when placed in water.

Developer note:

These changes are aimed at bringing these trip mines more in line with the Concertina Trip mine in terms of its effectiveness in a defensive role, ensure that all traps have roughly the same level of potential.

Poison Trip Mines will now produce a lasting effect meaning attackers will require a higher level of commitment if they want to push defenders. Triggering these mines is no longer a trivial matter due to these changes. This means defenders can capitalize on the attacker’s mistake, especially if the attacker commits to the fight and remains near the trap instead of retreating to a different location.

Alert Trip mines will now burn a small amount of health when triggered (charcoal effect to a small portion of the first health chunk). Two Alert Trip mines in proximity will be enough to set a Hunter on fire making them a far more effective tool, and not just when used near Red Barrels.

Happy trapping and stay vigilant!

Decoys

  • Decoys will now produce a “footstep” sound. This sound will vary depending on the surface they hit to keep them in line with the standard footstep audio.
  • The sound generated will behave exactly like a footstep of an enemy Hunter.
  • Equipping, unequipping and throwing decoys is now less audible to other Hunters

Developer note:

Decoys have struggled to find a solid place in players inventories, especially when compared with the usability of its cousins the Blankfire decoys, Decoy Fuses and Chaos Bomb. Selecting Decoys meant that you have a lot more of them to throw around, but the practical use was rather limited as experienced players would easily notice the attempted deception based on the sound they produced.

We want Decoys to be more useful when enemies are close by, giving you a chance to use them more reliably to create confusion. We have opted to change the impact sound from the generic metallic sound to something that represented the sound of footsteps.

Players can now decide if they want to use them to trigger sound traps (Dogs, birds etc), trigger AI to provide a distraction or by using them to deceive enemy Hunters, especially in those high-tension moments such as approaching or defending a Boss lair.

Meta

Regional prices for Blood bonds packs on Steam

  • Applied local prices for Blood Bond packs on Steam for all currently supported regions

World

Animal Sound Traps

  • Horses are now audible at further ranges bringing them in line with other animal sound traps.
    • Due to a bug, the Horse audio was only audible at up to 80m which has now been rectified.
    • Horses will take a longer time to de-escalate from their “aggro” state after they have been alerted.
  • Horses will now always be one shot to throwing axes regardless of where you hit the horse, bringing the damage to horses more in line with other powerful “one shot” attacks.

Doors and Windows Rendering Exploit

  • Fixed an exploit tied to the rendering of windows and doors. It is no longer possible to tell if others have visited a compound based on whether the doors and windows have rendered or not.
    • Doors and windows will now only be determined by how close you are to the compound and is no longer impacted by other players visiting a compound first.

Developer note:

This exploit was the result of a bug and was not intended by the team. We have been attempting to track down this bug for quite a while and have now found a good solution to this problem. From now on, it will no longer be possible to draw conclusion about other players and their presence in a nearby compounds based on whether the doors and windows have rendered in or not.

UI

Store

  • Added the Berthier Carbine Deadeye variant for $388
  • Added the Scottfield Model 3 Spitfire variant for $108
  • Added the Scottfield Model 3 Precision variant for $85
  • Added the Scottfield Model 3 Swift variant for $95
  • Added the Winfield 1873 Full Metal Jacket ammo for $35
  • Added the Winfield 1873c Full Metal Jacket ammo for $35
  • Slightly reduced the modifier given when selling equipment.
    • From 80% to 50%.

  • “It’s a sin to kill a mockingbird, but it’s no sin to kill a monster, and the call from this Bornheim No. 3 Match mimics the torment of its victims with every shrill cry from its deadly barrel. “

Hunter

  • Fixed an issue on consoles that resulted in specific Hunter skins have a very low texture resolution.
  • Fixed a bug that resulted in a few second of a delay when switching weapons in case where the weapon switch is triggered by the auto-switch (e.g. using a grenade and once thrown it auto switches back to your gun).

Audio

  • Fixed a bug that resulted in not being able to hear the Hive swarm in some cases.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Horses to only be audible below 80m.

AI

  • Fixed a bug that allowed Hive swarms to pass through windows and doors when they were closed just as the swarm is about to pass through.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Butcher to get stuck on the pig’s head.

Gunplay

  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to switch away from a cooking throwable, effectively faking a throw (Only applies to controllers)

World

  • Fixed a bug where choke bombs would not extinguish horses that were on fire.
  • Fixed a spot near a group of barrels in Blanc Brinery where players could potentially become stuck.
  • Fixed a spot near some hay bales in Windy Run where players could potentially become stuck.
  • Fixed a hole in the roof of Maw Battery that could give players and unfair advantage.
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in some sliding gates having a gap that could provide an unfair advantage.
  • Fixed an issue tied to the rendering of windows and doors. It is no longer possible to determine if other players have been present in the compound.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Frag and Flash bombs to sink instead of floating on top of the water.

Weapon

  • Fixed a bug that caused explosives to explode when directly hit with a choke bomb, instead of defusing it as intended (does not apply to waxed dynamite).

UI

  • Fixed an issue that could cause players to become stuck when starting the game.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the store sorting to reset when switch tabs.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the random contract description to appear behind the searching for match banner when joining a quickplay match.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the confirmation pop-up from appearing, when the last man standing attempts to “leave the match” through the esc menu. A pop up should now appear asking if you wish to confirm leaving.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the bounty Lightning strikes from the previous round to briefly appear on the map of your current match.

A full list of Known issues will be posted later. For now we want to highlight the following issues:

  • In some cases, when reloading, the client will load the bullets into your weapon but after a second or two it will show as if the reload never happened.

Developer notes:

We have managed to isolate the repro steps for this bug and are currently working on a fix. For now, we can share the steps so that you can avoid it and ensure it does not impact your gameplay.

This issue occurs if you perform a reload right after auto switch back to your weapon after using the last consumable in a slot (e.g. If you bring 2 vit shots, use the last one and reload as soon as it switches back to the weapon). To avoid this from happening, we recommend to not instantly reloading after the auto switch or cycle to another weapon first before performing a reload (or just wait a few seconds).

  • The posture Bug – the team are currently reviewing this bug that was reported to us recently. As this is not just tied to one or two weapons, it requires a pass to be performed on all weapon animations, which the animation team are in the process of doing. When we have more information we will provide it, but for now, rest assured we are working to resolve this as soon as possible.

  • Cain Visibility – We have seen a lot of feedback around Cain and how he is harder to spot in a match. We have brought these concerns to the art team and have an update for everyone. The team will be making some further changes to Cain which will come with update 1.8. We do not have specific details on what will be changed as the Art team are still working on this plan, but the main goal will be to improve the visibility of Cain in relation to the surrounding environment in Hunt.

That’s about it for the patch.
