Destiny 2 Next Patch 3.1.1.2 Release Set for Next Week, Here’s a Preview

While we just got a patch for Destiny 2 this past week that included a host of fixes, Bungie has announced the Destiny 2 next patch 3.1.1.2 release is set for next Thursday, April 1! This doesn’t seem to include as many changes and fixes as this past week’s patch, and Bungie has not mentioned if this will be a server or client-side download. However, we do have a quick patch preview.

Update (4/1/2021): Bungie has released the official patch notes for Destiny 2 hotfix 3.1.1.2! Check the official changelog here.

Destiny 2 Next Patch 3.1.1.2 Preview:

Here is a small list of the issues being addressed:
      • The Insight Terminus Nightfall Triumph will now be correctly awarded when the score requirement is reached.
      • The Lost Sector puzzles for the Xenophage quest will now work as intended.
      • Heavy ammo will no longer spawn underneath the Distant Shore Crucible map.

In addition to that, Bungie has also touched on balancing in the Iron Banner.

LOBBY BALANCING ACT
In June of 2020, we made some changes to remove skill based matchmaking from all playlists except Survival. Since the change, we’ve been monitoring player feedback, watching data, and getting some hands on in the Crucible to see how games felt with connection based matchmaking prioritized. A common feedback item has concerned lobby balancing, and how we distribute players among fireteams within a Crucible match.

Starting today, we’ll be testing out some changes to how players are split between teams once a match has been formed in Iron Banner and Iron Banner: Freelance playlists. These changes are expected to be deployed around 10:00 AM Pacific, so by the time you’re reading this TWAB, they may already be in place.

To give a simple explanation of the change, our current algorithm tries to make the average skill level even between the teams, which can lead to lopsided teams depending on the skill range of everyone put in the match. With the changes being deployed today, we’re updating our Crucible lobby balancer to balance teams with a modified algorithm which can be compared to “School Yard Pick” or “Snake Draft”. This will attempt to place the best player on team one, second best player on team two, third best player on team two, fourth best player on team one, and so on.

As a note, we are making no changes to matchmaking. This is specifically a change to how players are divided among teams once a match has been formed. We’ll be watching feedback over the weekend to see how players are feeling about this change in Iron Banner and we have plans to expand to more playlists once the changes are verified to have positive effects!

Once this coming week’s patch is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Rogue Company PS5 Release Date Set for Next Week, Features Announced

While Rogue Company is already playable on Xbox Series X|S, the free-to-play third-person shooter has been absent on Sony’s next-gen console the PS5, which is kind of odd. Well, that’s about to change soon, as the Rogue Company PS5 release date has been announced for March 30, which is Tuesday next week!

This was announced by Hi-Rez over on Twitter where the PS5 features were also talked about as well.

When Is Rogue Company Out on PS5?

March 30, 2021!

  • 4K mode runing at 120fps

Data Migration:

  • PS5 upgrade is free for all current PS4 players
  • Rogue Company is free-to-play for all new PS5 players

Rumor: Cyberpunk 2077 Upcoming DLCs Leak, Features Free and Paid Content

If you’re itching for more Cyberpunk 2077 content, it seems we might be getting a ton of it down the line, as a load of Cyberpunk 2077 upcoming DLCs has apparently been leaked, and there’s a lot coming to the open-world action-RPG!

Redditor PricklyAssassin has posted a long list of DLC items the user spotted back in February in the Epic Games Store. Apparently, Epic changed the store’s allocated server capacity from 100GB to 500GB for Cyberpunk 2077. According to the leaker, Epic preps their servers months before the release of new updates or content drops (one example they give is how Fortnite updates 2-4 weeks ahead of release).

The redditor states that back in February, there were 18 fre DLCs listed on the Epic Games Store, though some were removed earlier this week (now reduced to 10 free DLC items), but three paid DLCs were added this week. There are no details on the names, exact pricing, release dates and such for it.

Here’s a list of the free Cyberpunk 2077 DLCs:

  • Ripperdocs Expansion
  • Body Shops Expansion
  • Fashion Forward Expansion
  • Gangs of Night City
  • Body of Chrome
  • Rides of the Dark Future
  • The Relic
  • Neck Deep
  • Night City Expansion
  • Unnamed

Per the leaker, given that two of these free DLCs have similar names with two promo videos uploaded to the Cyberpunk 2077 channel before the game’s release, they surmise that this was originally part of the base game, which the studio was forced to take out/not include since CD Projekt RED didn’t have enough time.

Same as with all leaks, take this with a grain of salt. We’ve reached out to CD Projekt RED and will update the post if we hear anything back about this.

Thanks, Reddit!

Warframe Xbox Series X|S Release Set for April, PS5 Load Times to Be Cut in Half

With the next big Warframe update due to happen next month, Digital Extremes confirmed that the Warframe Xbox Series X|S release will also be coinciding with the patch’s release — which means next-gen Xbox gamers will finally be able to play an upgraded version of the hit free-to-play shooter.

When is the Warframe Xbox Series Release?

Speaking in the latest developer stream for Warframe, Digital Extremes confirmed that they are planning to release Update 30 simultaneously on all platforms next month, including for one (or rather two) that has yet to be released.

April is also our launch month for the next generation Xbox (Xbox Series X and Series S) build of Warframe that will include update 30.
For those who plan on play on either Xbox Series console you will need to redownload (30GB-32GB) Warframe in its entirety with this patch, though the overall file size will be reduced to what it currently is on Xbox One.
Is Warframe on PS5 Being Improved?
This isn’t the only next-gen news either though as while working on this update and the Xbox Series versions of Warframe, the team discovered some bad threading that has been fixed, resulting in improvements for all platforms and specifically on PS5 a reduction of load times by 50%.
And if you play on PlayStation 5, but I always like to say this stuff where there’s something about, you know one platform we have often have something we do on pc that benefits console or we do performance testing, say on the platform like switch which is like a battery operated thing and those performance optimizations make their way also to our pc audience and they benefit as well. While working on one of the consoles one of our engineers  discovered that we had like a a very bad threading condition inside our memory allocator and now load times are cut in half on PlayStation 5 with this next build. So they were fast before and now they’re going to be dramatically faster.
To give you a better idea of how fast the load times were already on the PS5, a section tested by Digital Extremes (as revealed in the previous PS5 next-gen video) showcased that the PS5 can load Warframe in about 10 seconds versus the PS4 , which sat at 40 seconds.
Next month update will be improving those speeds even further, which to say the least is pretty insane. We’ll be sure to keep you posted once the update is out, so be sure to check back here real soon!

A Betting Mechanic in Hitman 3 Would Completely Change the Game

Hitman 3 is easily the best game in the reboot trilogy that IO Interactive has so lovingly crafted out of a situation that almost saw them close as a business. The episodic format of both Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 didn’t work for them or players, and Hitman 3 broke that mold by launching with every single location as a single package. That allowed players to plow their way through all of the content on offer. Making a start on going back to pick up all the challenges that they missed along the way. February and March saw two full months of free new content come to the game, and there’s still more planned for the foreseeable future. However, one thing that would absolutely change the way the game is played, and make it worth starting all over again, is a betting mechanic.

We’re not talking about a betting system like the one you might see on Unibet Pennsylvania. Instead, the mechanic would allow players to bet on their performance. Currently, there’s no in-game cash in Hitman 3. Given the Contract system and how many people Agent 47 has cumulatively killed, he should be loaded with the amount people are probably paying for his services. Introducing that cash system would give players something to spend. But also something to lose.

How It Would Work

The system would work like this. Before you start a mission, you plan out your loadout and starting position. Then, before you go in, you can bet on the rank that you’ll complete the mission with. This can start from awful ranks for simply getting the job done, despite killing everyone else in the location. Reaching the lofty heights of Silent Assassin and Sniper Assassin. The higher the rank you’re betting on achieving, the more in-game cash you can earn as a reward.

After that, players have to achieve that rank. This is much easier said than done, though. Every location can trick up even the most experienced players. NPCs have unpredictable behavior. While there are certain things you can do to work with that behavior, the NPCs will often surprise you. For example, enforcer NPCs can spot you from a great distance, and your well-trodden route may be worthless because of one in the wrong place at the wrong time. Also, cameras will kill a Silent Assassin run unless you delete the footage, and that’s only possible if you change disguise. This ruins any chance of a Suit Only rank as well.

Betting on the rank, you’ll achieve forces players to change how they approach every mission. No longer can they think on their feet. They really need to push to reach the rank they set out to. The only thing that would make the mechanic more compelling is a randomization element to the NPCs in the locations. This could be based on the rank players set themselves, meaning any planned-out routes are effectively pointless. The best time for something like this to be implemented is in the first paid season for the game, Act 1: Greed of the Seven Deadly Sins expansion.

Starting April 28, Xbox and PC gamers will be able to enjoy this dino-hunting co-operative multiplayer!  It’ll be available through the Xbox Game Preview program and feature all the content released thus far from the early access. While technically Second Extinction is already available on PC (Steam Early Access), this new release will be for the Windows Store for those who prefer that storefront. If you aren’t familiar with the title, down below is a short trailer that should hopefully give you an idea.

Second Extinction Release Date for Xbox Trailer

About Second Extinction:

Second Extinction pits teams of up to three players against swarms of bloodthirsty dinos in fast-paced battles across Earth’s post-apocalyptic wastelands. Squad up with a range of powerful weapons and fight on your own or with friends against monstrous dinosaurs long thought extinct — now mutated and deadlier than ever! We’ve played some of it ourselves on PC, and lets just say that Xbox players are in for a good treat! Definitely a title well worth checking out, and if your subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, then there really shouldn’t have a reason not to play. Hopefully we see you all on the hunting field at launch!

The Outriders Demo Was a Master Stroke in Marketing

When People Can Fly announced that Outriders would feature a demo (no, not a beta), that would carryover progress, and will be up even if the game launches, it didn’t really make sense in a way. But after playing it, now I understood why, and allow me to explain.

The Outriders demo had me grinding hours everyday for a less than 1% chance of getting a legendary item.

There. I said it. It’s not something to brag about given it’s not a very efficient way of spending one’s time since I was grinding a demo that capped me at level 7, and World Tier 5 which meant that the odds of an enemy dropping a legendary item was next to impossible (odds are like, less than 1% from what people online have been saying).

Releasing a good chunk of the game out in the wild to let gamers get a taste of the full experience (in a way) was a brilliant move by People Can Fly and publisher Square Enix — one that seems to have paid off in terms of engagement.

outriders pvp

While I already wrote about my thoughts on the demo, my time with the game didn’t end there. I played it for an hour two everyday just to farm a legendary weapon. Sure, I know that weapon will be under-leveled compared to the weapons and gear that I’ll obtain once I progress through the story once the game’s out, but for some reason or another, I couldn’t help it. It’s not just because I have friends to party with, either, as I found myself repeating the Terra Infirma captain, or Vanguard captain repeatedly even if I’m playing solo.

It became an obssession, to be honest, as I saw people in an Outriders Facebook group flaunt their legendary wares, I wanted one, too. This whole gameplay loop of me farming items since I wanted to be stronger played exactly into the power fantasy that games like Diablo, Destiny, etc., all dished out so well.

However, after days of grinding, I finally got one, though it was the type of weapon I used the least, which dampened my happiness somewhat. That said, I still wanted to get just one more legendary weapon, to (maybe) re-affirm to myself that I did the right thing wasting away hours repeating the same part of the demo over and over just to maybe get the weapon drop I wanted.

Even if we’re just a week away from the game’s April 1 launch, I still am fighting the urge from farming and pouring more time since I know playing the final version of the game, and getting to higher World Tiers would make earning legendaries a whole lot easier. I think this is a testament to how well People Can Fly has made the “grind” feel rewarding, which is easier said than done in most games.

Will the demo’s success mean that the game as a whole be successful too? Not really. but the fact that it changed my mind from not caring to being excited for the game means People Can Fly already accomplished their mission with the demo — which is to make people care about Outriders. Before the demo, I rarely heard about the game from friends, online, etc. Now though? I’ve seen Outriders Facebook groups pop up left and right, the subreddit getting a ton more subscribers to it; the Outriders Twitter getting literally more than triple the interaction it had before the demo was released, and People Can Fly released demo stats that weren’t shabby at all, either.

Hopefully, this is the start of studios and publishers giving gamers actual significant vertical slices of their games before launch. Of course, this could work the other way as well, with gamers being turned off by game’s demo, and thus not wanting to take a second look at it when it releases. But if you’re confident in your product — which People Can Fly seems to be — this shouldn’t be an issue.

Outriders Demo Update 1.07

There are a ton of stuff that the demo could have fallen victim to: repetitive gameplay, unsatisfying combat, technical issues, and whatnot. While the demo isn’t perfect, and it highlighted some of the game’s issues (cross-platform party chat, connectivity issues, etc.), it managed to drum up enough excitement from a lot of people  that dozens (if not hundreds) of players grinded for hours to score legendary weapons, Heck, some even cheated their way just to obtain these items, which means that people cared about the game, the grind, the weapons, and of course, the experience.

If you’re a shooter fan, or someone who plays (played) games like Destiny or The Division, you might want to take a look at the Outriders demo that’s available now on almost every gaming platform imaginable.

The Outriders demo did the trick and it made people stand up and take notice of the game; now it’s People Can Fly’s duty to knock it out of the park come launch.

Halo Infinite Actor Says the Game Will Be Released in November This Year

It looks like there may be an update on when Halo Infinite’s release window will fall on, as Halo Infinite actor Verlon Roberts says that the game will be released on November of this year — putting the much anticipated 343 Industries game on the fall calendar of 2021.

During an interview at the Fadam and Friends Podcast, Roberts talked about his career as well as when Halo Infinite will be released.

During the 10 minute mark of the interview, Roberts discusses how he got to work on Halo Infinite as well as a projection of when the game will be released.

[I auditioned] for the video game, Halo Infinite, which was supposed to already be out, but with the pandemic and everything, and then I think they had some leadership changes, so now it’s pushed to later – November of this year.”

According to Roberts, he’ll be playing the part of Spartan Griffin in Halo Infinite — a character that appeared in the Shadow of Reach novelization but hasn’t been formally announced yet for the series. It may be a case of the actor letting slip information that wasn’t supposed to be revealed yet publicly. Either way, we’ll still have to wait for Microsoft to make things official with their own announcements.

If you missed the previous Halo Infinite Q&A from a few weeks ago, check out the details of what was revealed here.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 PS5 Trophies Transferring Not Working? Here’s a Fix

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 next-gen versions are finally out, and although the process of moving your save over isn’t much of an issue on Xbox, it seems that PlayStation gamers are having issues with unlocking previously earned trophies. Here’s a fix for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 PS5 trophies not unlocking after doing a save transfer!

Like other free next-gen version upgrades, the PS5 version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 requires the PS4 version in order to perform a save transfer. This means that you must have the last-gen version downloaded if you want to transfer all your progress, including all the trophies you have unlocked. However, it would seem that there is a bug going on that is preventing some users from unlocking all their earned trophies. Well, turns out there’s a pretty simple fix.

How Do I Fix the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 PS5 Trophies Bug?

If you happened to download the PS5 version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 and begun playing it right away without doing the save transferring first, you will need to delete your PS5 save data first. If you perform a save migration prior to deleting the save data, then there’s a chance that only your game progress will carry over and not the actual trophies.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 PS5 Trophy Transfer 1

Over on the PS4 side you’ll also want to be sure that your save has been uploaded via in-game menu.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 PS5 Trophy Transfer

Once you have done that, you should now be able to perform a save migration within the PS5 menu of Tony Hawk. This will then unlock all of your earned trophies right away.

And there you have it, that’s how you fix Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 PS5 trophies transferring issue.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is out now, and you can read more about it in our review.

Rust Console Release Date and New Trailer Revealed

Prepare to embark in a post-apocalyptic survival adventure in consoles, as Double Eleven has finally given details for the Rust console release date (May 21) — as well as a new trailer revealed to promote the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the popular PC game.

Here’s the trailer from Double Eleven and the Rust team which reveals the release date and pre-order announcements!

Here’s an overview of the game from the press release.

Based on the popular PC version, Rust for console by publisher and developer Double Eleven is designed as a separate experience from its PC counterpart, optimized specifically for console players.
Mark South, Chief Operating Officer at Double Eleven said, “Rust is and forever will be the baby and brainchild of Facepunch Studios, and we’re extremely grateful to be able to take what they’ve done and create our own console edition of their incredible game. Our Console Editions of Rust are certainly Rust as people know it, but under the hood – where we’ve spent the last few years – we’ve created an exceptional Rust experience designed for consoles and their players. We’re looking forward to hearing player feedback when fans can jump in later this spring.”
In Rust, players will wake up alone on a mysterious post-apocalyptic island littered with dilapidated industrial monuments and probing scientists. Featuring up to 100 other players it’s up to you to figure out how to keep yourself alive in a world where everything wants you dead.
Conquer thirst and hunger, battle the elements, create clothing and stay safe against hostile forces including other players, scientists, bears, wolves or even succumb to fire, drowning or radiation poisoning. A game without rules, Rust doesn’t tell its inhabitants what to do. Players are free to be deceptive and aggressive with intense player vs. player combat, raiding and looting, but there is potentially even more to be earned with a team of friendly players by your side. In the struggle for survival and supremacy, players can build tiny cabins in the woods to huge scrap metal fortresses in an attempt to stay safe, as well as craft a variety of weapons, bombs and traps.
Rust is not for the faint of heart: the game boasts a steep learning curve and a huge, killer community of players. Befriend them, kill them – the choice is yours. Players will start out alone with nothing but a rock and a torch, finding and learning blueprints to make new and higher-tier weapons, armour and defenses, building a growing arsenal to give you and your friends chances of survival. Rust will throw a barrage of challenges at you but players can fight back with craftable weapons starting with a rock in your hands, to a spear or bow, through to heavier artillery like assault rifles and rocket launchers.
If you want to see more gameplay videos for Rust for the PS4 and Xbox One, check it out here.
Rust will be out for PS4 and Xbox One this May 21.

Battlefield 2021 Survey Questions Being Sent Out by EA; Asks About F2P Mode, Clan System & More

While EA still hasn’t revealed the official title of Battlefield 2021, or gave any concrete details other than it’ll be revealed sometime in spring, it looks like the publisher is seeking player feedback, as a Battlefield 2021 survey has been sent out to some Battlefield fans. The survey has been confirmed legit by multiple members of the Battlefield community, and it asks questions such as whether players would be interested in a free-to-play (F2P) mode, a clan system and more.

Check out the questions below, though it seems there are more questions in this Battlefield 2021 survey than what’s shown below.

[unitegallery bf6survey]

Bear in mind, these questions are in no way a guarantee that we’ll see a F2P mode come into the game (though that’s been rumored before), or that it will be implemented. Think of this as EA collecting data, and it’s to the company on how they’ll implement it into this year’s Battlefield game.

If you got a Battlefield survey like this one or just got a tip, you can send them over to tips@mp1st.com. We’ll credit you for the find (or be anonymous about it if that’s the tipster’s wish).

You should also check out the videos embedded below discussing the tips to gleam more info about ’em:

Thanks, Lossy!

Hood: Outlaws & Legends Mystic Featured in New Video

In the final character reveal for Hood: Outlaws & Legends, Sumo Digital has revealed yet another class — the Mystic! Check out the Hood: Outlaws & Legends Mystic gameplay trailer below, where we also see the character’s abilities in action.

Trained from a young age as an inquisitor, the Mystic chose to rebel against the government’s iron fist and brings several unique powers to the battlefield. Use your abilities to reveal nearby enemies for a short time and heal yourself and nearby allies. Meanwhile, the Mystic’s poisonous smoke bombs can bring foes to their knees — or be adapted with perks to heal allies in an area-of-effect.

The Mystic is also a capable melee fighter, with a deadly flail that can set the pace of combat. Swing it to create space or launch it forward to perform a powerful mid-range attack, stunning enemies to create an opening for a finishing blow. In a game where close cooperation is key, the Mystic can be a vital addition to your team composition and strategy.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 10. Pre-orders will receive an exclusive three days early access which means they can start on May 7. There’s also a Year 1 Edition, which includes three Battle Passes that will be released post-launch.

You can check out the other character classes here.

Sci-Fi Horror Game “Haunted Space” Announced, Check Out the Reveal Trailer

Publisher Merge Games in collaboration with Italy-based developer Italian Games Factory has announced “Haunted Space” — a sci-fi space combat and exploration game coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Check out the reveal trailer below, and read up on the early info shared via the game’s press release.

In HAUNTED SPACE sci-fi blends with horror elements in a story-rich adventure based on exploration, fast-paced dogfighting, trading, and ship crafting, with customisable flight simulation and intense multi-stage boss battles.
In the far future, the second age of human civilisation reached the distant Neterun galaxy and discovered a powerful energy called Sonic Matter. Millions of settlers arrived in Neterun’s systems and a vast factory called the Metal Mother Facility was built to harvest this valuable resource. But humanity soon discovered they were not alone…
Here are the game’s key features;
  • EXPLORE THE NETERUN GALAXY – Traverse multiple unique star systems, each filled with danger and intrigue. Play in first-person or third-person perspective as you overcome the challenges of this dangerous backwater of space

  • EXPERIENCE A DEEP AND EPIC SCI-FI HORROR STORY – Neterun is full of monuments and relics left by an ancient civilisation and the galaxy is haunted by their ghosts. Unravel the reasons for their presence and fight for survival against their supernatural threat in a story inspired by the dark and twisted tales of Heavy Metal and 2000AD

  • TAKE ON THE FEARSOME COLOSSI – Overcome the odds in fierce multi-stage boss battles against ancient God-like creatures composed of organic matter and space debris

  • MAKE YOUR MARK – Trade and craft new ships and ship equipment using powerful and customisable ship modification tools – create and buy new weapons, shields, cargo containers, engines and more

  • NEXT GENERATION IMMERSION – Stunning ray tracing effects and immersive audio put you in the heart of the action like never before

  • PLAY YOUR WAY – In HAUNTED SPACE, the innovative co-pilot system allows you to choose the level of control you prefer, from a complete space simulation, through to a more arcade-style experience. At its maximum level, the co-pilot makes the game accessible for blind and visually impaired users, and it also supports eye-tracking

No firm release date is available for Haunted Space yet, though we’re curious to see how this one pans out.
