Bobby Kotick: Call of Duty Mobile Is the “Template” Activision Is Applying to Proven Franchises

With Call of Duty Mobile’s tremendous success, it’s not surprising that Activision is looking to replicate it with the publisher’s other properties. During Activision’s quarterly earnings report, Activsion CEO Bobby Kotick mentioned that COD Mobile has become “the “template” the company wants to apply to all its “proven franchises.”

Our strategy centers around our long held view that wholly owned entertainment franchises offer the opportunity for limitless innovation. We continue to increase investment in creative and commercial resources for our franchises and potential new franchises to deliver new compelling experiences for players and superior financial returns for our shareholders. With free to play entry points across mobile, PC and console Call of Duty experienced an increase of over 100 million players in a little over a year. Call of Duty is the template we’re applying to our proven franchises, as well as our new potential franchises as we attempt to grow our audiences to a billion players. – Bobby Kotick, Activision CEO

Can’t say I’m surprised by this statement. With Diablo Immortal already on the way later this year for mobile, chances are we’ll see other Activision IPs come to mobile as well.

DayZ Update 1.28 May 5 Released for Fixes

Bohemia Interactive has released the DayZ update 1.28 May 5 patch on both consoles and PC, and should be live now. There are two sets of patch notes (consoles and PC), and we’ve listed both sets down below.

  • Fixed a game crash related to the cached ammunition information
  • Infected were able to walk through doors at certain locations
  • Wrong values in 7.62×54 and .308 ammunition configuration (https://feedback.bistudio.com/T157734#2179006)
  • Wrong shock fall off settings for 7.62×39 ammunition
  • A string was not properly translated for one connection error message (STR_ve_m_rogue_pbo1)
  • Minor configuration errors within CE setups

Minecraft Dungeons Update 1.15 May 5 Mines Out for 1.8.8.0

Mojang has released the Minecraft Dungeons update 1.15 May 5 patch, or what’s also called the 1.8.8.0 title update. This brings cloud saves into the game, localization support, and a host of fixes. Head on for the fulll notes below.

Cloud Saves:

The long-awaited Cloud Saves feature is now available in Minecraft Dungeons! With this update, you can now save your progress to the cloud, so you can pick up and play your Heroes across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

While the in-game prompts show how to upload and download Heroes using Cloud Saves, you can check out the support article if you have any questions on the process.

Localization:

  • Introducing localization support for Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese text and voice overs for all platforms
  • Improved the font used on platforms that already had Chinese localization

Fixes:

  • Fixed one of the top crashes that could occur during gameplay
  • Fixed a crash that could occur after a second lobby was created during a single session
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when standing in Piglin Fungus Thrower clouds
  • Fixed items permanently falling off edges on certain tiles in Ancient Hunts
  • The Emote Wheel is no longer accessible in local co-op
  • Fixed players not being able to join online sessions after creating a new character
  • Fixed a soft lock that could occur when opening settings after viewing the friend list
  • The main menu can no longer be unintentionally navigated while using the account login prompts
  • Fixed text running off the screen in several languages on various menu screens
  • The prompt displayed upon disconnecting a controller is now fully translated across all supported languages

Understanding the Sunset Overdrive Trademark Update

Earlier today, news broke out that Sony, who now owns the Sunset Overdrive IP due to the purchase of Insomniacs games last year, had issued a new trademark for Sunset Overdrive, potentially suggesting that the company was looking to get the game on their platform. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case of the trademark being registered under Sony.

While the Sunset Overdrive IP is “technically” the property of Sony since they own Insomniac Games now, the trademark is still owned by the studio as listed on the official page.

With today’s update, the studio was merely complying with USPTO previous request. As pointed out by Reddit user supaswag69, the studio was notified in January of last year by USPTO that they were required to submit a Declaration of Use and/or Excusable Nonuse application in order to maintain the trademark.  

With the deadline being set for January 2021, the company had a full year before they needed to submit the needed documents. We aren’t too sure how trademarks work in terms of extensions, but this was most likely the case of the studio simply holding off until last minute, in order to get as much time out of the previous registration. Seeing that the studio submitted the declaration on the day of the deadline, chances are this was the case.

Looking at the record history, USPTO had assigned someone to review it on April 26, which was also the same day it was approved and extended for another six years.

As excited as many people are, this is just a simple routine trademark update as the game is still being sold at retailers and digital storefronts. This by no means in anyway suggests that Sony is looking to re-release it on PlayStation or work on another sequel.

Of course this doesn’t mean that they don’t plan on doing it in the future, but we just thought we would clear the air with everyone believing that is so.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is Impossible to Run on PS4 and Xbox One According to Developers

As most game developers make the inevitable transition to focus on next-gen console hardware, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is being considered as one of the games that is impossible to run on PS4 and Xbox One — that is according to the developers of the game, GSC Game World.

Speaking with GamingBolt, GSC Game World’s PR Manager Zakhar Bocharov put it plain and simple when questioned why the game was a next-gen exclusive.

Exactly. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is a next-gen game, and it’s impossible to run it on Xbox One or PS4.

As it stands, focusing on next-gen systems is inevitable as in a couple of years most developers and dedicated gamers will have moved up to a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S to better utilize the advancements of technology in gaming. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is a prime example of a game that will not be multi-generational, unlike other companies who have managed to create current-gen ports of upcoming new titles such as Capcom’s Resident Evil Village. While the developers of RE Village have managed to find a way to release the game for PS4 and Xbox One, the same cannot be said for GSC Game World, and fans will just have to go with the times and experience S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 as it was intended in next generation platforms. However, GSC Game World currently also has no plans to port the game for PS5.

COD 2021 Studio Sledgehammer Games Are “Stronger Than Ever,” Opening a New Studio

Contrary to a lot of rumors putting the studio in a bad position, Activision today confirmed that Call of Duty 2021 (COD 2021) is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, and what’s more, is even expanding into a new studio.

In the financial earning call, it was confirmed that Sledgehammer games would be developing Call of Duty 2021, which has been rumored for sometime now. While no details pertaining the setting of the next Call of Duty were revealed, the company did confirm that the title is still on track, and that visuals look great with the game being built for next-gen consoles.

Activision President Rob Kostich also confirmed that Call of Duty 2021 would be integrated into the Call of Duty ecosystem, which basically means it will be a part of Warzone in some ways.  

One of the more interesting piece of news however is that Sledgehammer is now expanding, opening a new studio located in Toronto Canada. They described the studio as being stronger than ever before, despite rumors saying otherwise. Talent is being expanded per Activision. 

Call of Duty 2021 is currently in development at Sledgehammer Games with a release set for the second half of 2021. Rumors suggest that the game will be heading back to the World War 2 setting, though nothing has been said or leaked to confirm this. The current working rumored title is Call of Duty Vanguard, though this most likely will change come the official announcement.

Activision Confirms Call of Duty 2021 Being Helmed by Sledgehammer, Built for a “Next-Gen Experience”

Following rumors that Call of Duty 2021 is being developed by Call of Duty: WWII devs Sledgehammer Games, Activision has confirmed that today! In the publisher’s latest quarterly financials report, Activison execs has, for the first time, talked about this year’s Call of Duty game.

According to Activision execs, Call of Duty 2021, which is rumored to be titled “Vanguard,” the game is on track for a fall release, and is being “built for next generation experience,” and confirming that players will see a campaign, multiplayer, and co-op modes. More details will be shared within the community “soon.’

Over on Twitter, the official Sledgehammer Games account had this to say as a reaction:

Another rumor has surfaced earlier this year claiming that Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty game will run on Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2019 game engine, which wouldn’t surprise us in the slightest.

Biomutant May The Furrth Trailer Hypes Up The Game Star Wars Style

It’s May The 4th and Star Wars Day, and leave it to THQ Nordic and Experiment 101 to join in the celebration of The Force by releasing a new Biomutant May The Furrth trailer — which hypes up the game Star Wars style by presenting us with an epic adventure to come!

For those new to the furry world of Biomutant, here’s an overview of the game’s plot from the Steam page.

Apex Legends Down for May 4 as Season 9 Starts

Well, this is awkward. With TItanfall 2 hitting record numbers on PC, which was most likely buoyed by Apex Legends’ Legacy Season 9 new legend, it seems playter excitement has reached a fever pitch, as Apex L:egends down reports are still coming in even after close to an hour of the Season 9 patch’s availability!

Servers on consoles and PC are still down, though Respawn Entertainment is aware of it and cites user demand as the cause.

It looks like some people are able to log in, though servers are getting melted, so don’t expect to have a great experience now. We’re monitoring the situation and will update the post as more info becomes available.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance Art Style and Monsterr Discussed

Bringing the fantasy world of D&D is no easy task, and the Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance developers discuss the art style and monsters of the game in great detail through a new dev diary video and an entry PlayStation Blog!

Here’s the latest Art & Monsters feature from PlayStation that takes a look at the world and creatures residing in the game.

Discussing the various directions in conceptualizing the visuals and presentation for the game, Tuque Games Creative Art Director Stefan Leblanc describes the art core of Dark Alliance and how it fits into the world of D&D.

The concept of Dark Alliance is simple. It’s you and your friends versus this alliance between legions of monsters. The monsters really started to take on a life of their own as we developed the game. In a way, they’re the stars of the show. They’re what you are going to remember when you talk about Dark Alliance with your friends.

Leblanc also gets into the monsters and says there are three dozen different enemy types in the game.

There are more than 30 different enemy types in Dark Alliance. Each main faction of monsters gets its own mission structure that explores their architecture, culture, and even a bit of their daily practices. By centering each three-act mission around a faction, it helps us build a cohesive visual design that brings our world to life and makes our enemies more memorable.

We covered Dark Alliance a few months back and took a look at the gameplay. Glad to see its concepts are discussed thoroughly by the creators via PS Blog.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance will be released for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on June 22.

Returnal Dev Cheats Discovered, Requires Keyboard

It seems that Housemarque may have accidentally forgotten to disable some developer features, as players have discovered a way to unlock Returnal cheats using a keyboard.

The news comes from Reddit, which details how to unlock cheats in Returnal using a keyoard. No doubt this isn’t intentional and will most likely be patched out in an upcoming update. As of current, this does work on update 1.003.

How to Use Cheats in Returnal – Works up to Update 1.003

  • Press & Hold shift, control, alt 1 to 0 drops your current level weapons.
  • Press & Hold shift, control, 8 instantly takes you last place ( First Cycle)
  • Press & Hold shift, control, 4 instantly takes you back to ship. DO NOT USE 3 or 7 freezes.
  • 1,2,5,6,9,0 Doesn’t do anything.

Then press 1 to 0 to drop diffrent weapons from the Game at current weapon proficiency.

Start Game and Pick Weapon of Choice (Perks, Attributes)

Level Weapon Proficiency and Drop Weapon again for upgraded version.

Reach Shop, buy Health Upgrade, Weapon Proficiency or Artefacts you want or need.

Then Respawn at ship and repeat until your happy with your build.

Now, enjoy Returnal and the Grind. Hope this helps players who don’t have the time, encountered crashes or just find game a bit challenging.

DO NOT USE 3 or 7 freezes when holding (Shift and Control Only). 1,2,5,6,9,0 Doesn’t do anything.

Do not use Ship Respawn (Shift, Ctrl & 4) after Biome 3, or during Biome 4. (Unless you’ve already beaten the Game.)

You return too Ship Location in Biome 1, with no way to return too last Biome you reached.

A pretty cool find if you ask us, though again, it’s likely goping to be patched very quickly.

Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer Announced, Brings the Vault of Glass Raid Back

Take a trip to the endless night and return to something found in the original Destiny, as Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer has been announced, and it brings the Vault of Glad raid mission back along with some other exciting new stuff for the game!

During Season of the Splicer, Guardians will hack the Vex simulation in the six-player matchmade activity Override to uncover secrets and steal Vex code. Additionally, Guardians will be able to run the weekly pinnacle mission Expunge, where they will uncover and exploit vulnerabilities in the Vex Network to collapse it from the inside.

On May 22, Guardians will once again be able to infiltrate the iconic Vault of Glass (VoG) raid. For the uninitiated, VoG sees Guardians navigate fractures in time and space to find Atheon, Time’s Conflux. The mysterious Vex awaits deep within the vault and must be shut down before it becomes unstoppable. This is not just a straight port, with quality-of-life changes introduced to make VoG feel more in line with player’s expectations today, as well as new challenges and triumphs and some old favorites waiting to be earned.

Free for all players, Armor Synthesis brings transmog to Destiny by unlocking the power to create a Universal Ornament from any piece of armor in a Guardian’s possession. Season Pass owners will also get immediate access to the Exotic Stasis Sidearm Cryosthesia 77KSeason-specific Universal OrnamentsXP boosts that will speed up Seasonal rank gains and unlocks along their reward track, and more.

Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer will run from May 11th to August 24th.

Zombie Army 4 Update 1.30 Brings in a New Season of Terror

Dead by Daylight Update 2.19 May 4 Slices Out for 4.7.0 Update

Tome VII

  • Tome VII for The Archives will start tomorrow, May 5th, at 11AM ET.
  • Rift fragments for Level Completion rewards will now increase per Level.
  • The required amount of Player XP per Rift fragment has been reduced to 500 XP (from 800XP) for faster Rift progression.

UI

  • Settings menu: Replaced all checkboxes with text based steppers (with choices “ON”/”OFF”) to be consistent with similar setting interactions.
  • HUD – Visual improvements to Killer Power indicators behind Survivor portraits:
  • General: Bottom of these indicators are no longer covered by the Survivor portraits.
  • The Doctor: Madness levels now have a distinct visual for each level.
  • The Plague: Improved Sickness meter texture colours for colourblind players.
  • The Nightmare: Increased brightness of the Dream World indicator.

The Twins Post-Release Update

With this update, we’ve tried to widen the window for counterplay when attempting to down multiple survivors with Victor. Also, the Ultra Rare addons were underperforming and have had their bonuses increased.

  • Charlotte can now rotate while waking up.
  • Victor’s successful Pounce cooldown is 5 seconds (was 3 seconds).
  • Victor can now move during the successful Pounce cooldown.
  • Silencing Cloth grants Undetectable for 20 seconds (was 12 seconds).
  • Iridescent Pendant inflicts Exposed for 30 seconds (was 12 seconds).

The Demogorgon Gameplay Update

The Demogorgon’s portals have been adjusted to be usable more frequently, traverse distance faster, and grant a bit more stealth. The base move speed when charging Shred has also been increased, and the bonus from add-ons decreased. Some portal/traversal add-ons also had their values reduced in light of the base stat improvements. The end result should be as strong, or stronger. We will continue to monitor the performance of these addons and adjust them in future patches as needed.

Power

  • Traverse the Upside Down cooldown: 10 seconds (was 14 seconds).
  • Normal Traverse the Upside Down velocity: 20 m/s (was 17 m/s).
  • Undetectable lasts 3 seconds after Traversing the Upside Down (was 2 seconds).
  • Movement speed while charging Shred increased from 3.68 m/s to 3.86 m/s.

Addons

  • Black Heart: Reduces cooldown time after a successful Shred attack by 20%.
  • Rat Liver: +3.5% movement speed while charging Shred (was 9% but end result is unchanged due to increased base move speed).
  • Rat Tail: +25% action speed while opening a portal (was 50%).
  • Rotten Pumpkin: When traversing the Upside Down, the portal you enter is destroyed, blood points earned.
  • Barb’s Glasses: Slightly increases Shred recovery speed when breaking a pallet.
  • Rotten Green Tripe: Increases Killer movement Speed while traversing the Upside Down by 15% (was 25%).
  • Sticky Lining: increases the radius in which Survivors can be detected by Of the Abyss by 2.5m (was 1.5m).
  • Brass Case Lighter: Inflicts 60 seconds of Blindness (was 45 seconds).
  • Deer Lung: Increases Upside Down traversal speed by 40% (was 30%), now reduces portal count by 2.
  • Eleven’s Soda: Shows yellow Auras forGeneratorsbeing repaired while traversing the Upside Down.
  • Thorny Vines: Seal time +10% (was 14%), detection radius 1m (was 1.5m).
  • Lifeguard Whistle: Survivors near activated Portals are indicated by Killer Instinct without having to charge Of the Abyss.
  • Unknown Egg: Reduces power recovery time after traversing the Upside Down by 1.5 seconds (was 2.5 seconds).
  • Leprose Lichen: Survivor auras remain for 3 seconds after emerging from a portal.
  • Red Moss: When traversing the Upside Down, The Demogorgon emerges from the target portal silently but more slowly.

The Nightmare Gameplay Update

The Nightmare has been overperforming for some time, and his game slowdown addons were still causing more frustration than we would like. These have been removed and replaced with new effects based on Survivor sounds in the Dream World. We’ve also made adjustments to penalize spamming snares in chase and reduced the total number of traps that can be active at once, but the expect the core gameplay experience to remain intact.

Power

  • Move speed now adjusted to 4.0 m/s while charging a Dream Snare.
  • Dream Snare charges reduced to 5 (was 8).
  • Dream Pallet charges reduced to 7 (was 10).
  • Using a clock to wake up prevents falling asleep for 30 seconds; this includes when getting hit by Freddy.
  • Added a new Killer Power visual behind the Survivor portraits to indicate the 30 second sleep immunity timer.

Addons

  • Black Box: When a Gate is opened, the Entity blocks it for sleeping Survivors for 15 seconds.
  • Jump Rope: While Survivors are in the Dream World, the sounds of their grunts of pain are 50% louder.
  • Outdoor Rope: While Survivors are in the Dream World, the sounds of theirgeneratorrepairs can be heard from 8 meters further away.
  • Swing Chains: While Survivors are in the Dream World, the sounds of their footsteps are 50% louder.

The Huntress Addon Update

The Huntress was among the last of the older killers with incorrect add-on rarities, and this has now been fixed! Several addons have been altered to give more interesting effects and her most controversial addon has been adjusted so it no longer allows carrying more than one hatchet.

Addons

  • Berus Toxin becomes Yellowed Cloth: +10% Hatchet flight speed.
  • Coarse Stone: The grunts of pain from hit targets are increased by 50% until they are fully healed.
  • Amanita Toxin: Hit target suffers from the Blindness status effect for 60 seconds (was 30 seconds).
  • Deerskin Gloves: Now Rare.
  • Fine Stone becomes Weighted Head: Hit target suffers from the Incapacitated status effect for 10 seconds.
  • Yew Seed Brew is now Wooden Fox: Now Very Rare; grants the Undetectable status effect for 10 seconds after reloading.
  • Yew Seed Concoction is now Rose Root: +20% Hatchet flight speed.
  • Pungent Fiale is now Soldier’s Puttee: Now Ultra Rare; The Huntress moves 4.6 m/s when she has no Hatchets.
  • Venomous Concoction: Inflicts Exhausted status for 5 seconds (was 90 seconds).
  • Iridescent Head: Prevents carrying more than one Hatchet.

More Live Design

Apart from the killer updates, the most significant live design change in this update is the change to Survivor’s hook struggle inputs. One of the motivating factors behind this update is to reduce the number of inputs per second in order to make the game more accessible to those suffering from RSI. After the release of this mechanic for The Executioner’s Cages and its positive reception by the community, we felt confident of making this change more broadly for all Sacrifice struggles.

The new Object of Obsession design previewed on the dev stream has been completed with a few tweaks. We hope solo Survivors will enjoy Small Game’s new Totem-counting function, and Borrowed Time no longer triggers based on Terror Radius… it just works.

New hook struggle

  • Struggling during the second stage on a hook is now a series ofSkill Checks
  • Failing to give any input for two successive Skill Checks will instantly complete the Sacrifice
  • Missing a skill check will reduce the amount of time until the Entity claims the hooked Survivor

Perks

  • Small Game: Gain tokens for each Totem any Survivor cleanses; tokens reduce cone width to increase accuracy; no longer triggers for the Totem you are currently cleansing.
  • Lucky Break: Now hides scratch marks as well; duration reduced to 35/40/45 seconds.
  • Soul Guard: Now has a 30 second cooldown between activations.
  • Open-Handed: Increases aura reading range by 8/12/16 meters; Survivors may only be affected by one instance of Open-Handed.
  • Zanshin Tactics: Now always active and range increased to 24/28/32 meters.
  • Borrowed Time: No longer requires being in the Terror Radius to trigger; duration of Enduring status reduced to 8/10/12 seconds.
  • Object of Obsession: This perk has been redesigned.
  • Whenever your aura is revealed to the Killer, the Killer’s aura becomes visible to you and you gain a 2/4/6% bonus to healing, repairing and cleansing speed.
  • If you are the Obsession, your aura is revealed to the killer for 3 seconds once every 30 seconds.
  • Increases your chances of being the Obsession.

Other

  • Repairing while using a toolbox now increases the odds of gettingSkill Checksby 5x (was 2x).
  • When the Hatch is opened by a Key, it remains open for 10 seconds (was 30 seconds).
  • Every trial will now start with an obsession, regardless of player loadouts.

  • A new Tome and Rift will be added to the Archives in the next few days

Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 4, Playstation 5 only:

  • Fixed an issue where the application would crash after repeatedly pressing the Ready button in the Play as Survivor lobby.

Developer Illfonic has released the Friday The 13: The Game update 1.40 May 4 patch, and is also the last patch planned by the devs for the game! Check out the long list of changes in the patch notes below.

Friday The 13: The Game Update 1.40 May 4 Patch Notes:

All Platforms:

The following fixes and changes will be deployed on the PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch platforms. The patch is set to roll out onto platforms on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at roughly 10AM Eastern US Time.

Combat Stance

  • The team set out to test and tune various aspects of how Combat Stance, and rapid input related to Combat Stance, affected game play across a variety of different connection strengths. While latency will always play a part in comparing the differences a connected player will see to what the host or other players may see, we are confident we’ve tested these changes across a wide range of connection qualities.
  • Further tuned and tested Combat Stance behavior and the unintended “Sliding” action counselor players could create.
  • Fixed an issue introduced in our last patch allowing Jason to move at running speed while in Combat Stance.

Counselor

  • Giant Weapons: The team has fixed an issue allowing players to manipulate the size of weapons in game.
  • Trap Bypass: Fixed an issue that allowed players to bypass traps by initiating an interaction.
  • Safe Spots: Fixed various areas of the map where counselors could avoid being killed by Jason.
  • Interaction Locks: Fixed various Interaction Locks that would occur when a counselor would interact with the environment and become stuck.

Switch Only:

The following fixes and changes have already been deployed on the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. With this patch, we’ll be bringing these changes in addition to those mentioned previously in these notes, to the Switch platform in order to align it with our other existing platforms.

Combat Stance 

  • Commonly referred to as Sliding or Teleporting, the team has fixed an issue allowing players to manipulate combat stance changes.
  • Players may still see, when in spectator mode, counselors attempting to perform the exploit, however this is a visual artifact.

Pocket Knife Issues

  • Instant break free by using health spray or firecrackers when grabbed, resulting in not only an instant break free but also retention of the player’s pocket knife, has been fixed.
  • Loss of pocket knives in circumstances when firecrackers are used has also been fixed.

Jason – Gameplay

  • Ability Unlock/Recharge Rate toggle in private matches has been fixed to include both parameters.
  • Lobby icon irregularities resulting in an inaccurate lobby icon have been fixed.
  • Abduction, when Jason is able to Morph while holding a counselor, has been fixed.
  • Mask HP loopholes where use of a flare gun or firecrackers could get the mask to come off too quickly have been fixed.
  • Jason Kill Sequence – Kneel: The issue where the kneeling animation during the Jason Kill process could be repeated has been fixed.

Counselor – Gameplay

  • Hiding Under Bed: An issue where players could hide under beds and become stuck in a way where Jason could not kill them has been fixed. While it is still possible in some instances to cause the bug, the counselor will be able to be killed by Jason in that state.
  • Lobby icon irregularities resulting in an inaccurate lobby icon have been fixed.
  • Numerous safe spots around the maps have been fixed, including the Pinehurst Roof method by way of Tommy’s bed.
  • Players will now see an error if they roll and sell perks too quickly, but the game will stay functional and no longer lock up. Players can then continue to roll and sell perks, being cautious of not overloading the roll system.
  • An issue causing the Counselor clothing options to not save properly when altering color/items has been resolved. Feel free to go back to playing Pink Cop Kenny.
  • Tommy Jarvis voice lines have been restored, and this is between him and Jason.

General

  • Various Interaction Locks have been fixed, particularly those that occurred when players would input either multiple button presses or rapid button presses in short succession, rapid pick up and put down of items, and multiple inputs appearing with on screen prompts.
  • Fuse Box and Fuse spawn for the Cop call has been extended to ensure the fuse does not spawn inside the house with the fuse repair box.
  • With this patch, matchmaking will shift away from Dedicated Servers and onto Peer to Peer Matchmaking for all matches on the Switch as well.
  • The game will still be playable online publicly with the Quick Play option and privately with the Private Match option.

Resident Evil Village Preload Live; Here Are the Sizes and How to Download

Good news for eager Resident Evil fans who pre-ordered Resident Evil Village, as the Resident Evil Village preload has begun rolling out on PlayStation and Xbox!

Down below you’ll find everything you need to know about the preload, including files sizes, how to download, and unlock times. 

Resident Evil Village Preload File Sizes:

PS4: 29GB (27Gb in Asia)

PS5: 27GB

Xbox One: 27GB

Xbox Series: 30GB

Does Resident Evil Village Have a Day One Patch?

Yes, Resident Evil Village does have a day one patch as there is a 1.01 version now available to download. This will be included in the initial download, though if you bought physically it will be available to download once you launch the game. It’s unclear what this update does, or if Capcom has yet another one planned from now to launch. 

How to Download the Resident Evil Village Preload on PlayStation

If you preordered Resident Evil Village from the PlayStation store, all you need to do is go into your game library and the title should be available to download. Note, that preload times differ from regions to regions, with it live right now in eastern hemisphere (Europe, Asia, ect). The Western Hemisphere countries (North and South America) can expect the preload to go live at Midnight tonight Pacific time. 

How to Download the Resident Evil Village Preload on Xbox

For Xbox gamers you aren’t required to preorder in order to preload. Using the Xbox Game App, you can search for Resident Evil Village on the app and force download the game directly there, regardless of preorder status. This way the game is ready for you at launch should you decide to buy it then. Downloading it now and buying it on disc will save you time on installation at release.

When Resident Evil Village Unlock Time?

This varies from region to region, though the unlock times are all set at midnight

North America: May 7 12am EST – May 6 11PM CST – May 6 9PM PST

At the earlier, the digital versions of the game will be playable Thursday morning. This is assuming you live in the either North or South America and have the game preordered on an Asian or neighboring market.
