Marvel’s Wolverine for PS5 Claws Out for Release on September 15

In September last year, our sources told us that Marvel’s Wolverine was aiming for a 2026 release, and Sony itself confirmed this in the same month with a re-reveal of the superhero game.

Today, we can stop guessing, as Insomniac Games confirmed the action game’s release date, and it’s on September 15.

Why September and not maybe October or November? Super simple: Grand Theft Auto 6 is releasing in November and every game wants to avoid that juggernaut.

Wolverine PS5 Release Date Takes a Stab at September

Insomniac released a simple tweet confirming the release date:

You can’t be as straightforward as that, right? Expect more trailers and even a dedicated State of Play to air for the game as we get nearer to release.

The game’s description reads, “As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be.”

If you want to wishlist the game, you can do so now on the PSN Store.

Will this be better than Marvel’s Spider-Man? Based on what we’ve seen so far, it definitely has that possibility.

Marathon Cheaters Will Be Perma-Banned With “No Second Chances”

One of the inevitable things in life include: death, taxes, and cheaters in multiplayer games. This is something Bungie is aware of and has discussed recently.

For a multiplayer live service title like Marathon, gameplay and post-launch content are not enough. The game also needs a strong and secure network system.

Bungie recently shared details about its anti-cheat plans and the technical systems that will be ready at launch, making it clear that it will take a hard stance against anyone who cheats.

Marathon Promises Zero Tolerance Against Cheaters

In a video posted on its YouTube channel, the developers explained that any player caught using or making cheats will receive a permanent ban, with “no second chances.” Players can only appeal if there has been a mistake in the detection system.

On the technical side, Bungie confirmed the use of dedicated servers for combat and loot, preventing client-side manipulation. The team has also introduced new networking systems to ensure responsive movement and actions, with the server accurately tracking every bullet fired.

Tools such as wall hacks and loot revealers will be strongly targeted. The BattlEye anti-cheat software will be supported by a completely rebuilt security system designed specifically for the game.

If a player disconnects during a match, they will be able to reconnect. If the issue is caused by Bungie’s servers, players will receive their starting gear back. The team also emphasized that security is never fully solved and that they will continue to invest in the game’s security systems.

These features will already be tested during the Server Slam event, scheduled from February 26 to March 2, ahead of the game’s official release on March 5.

In other news, Embark Studios revealed that Marathon feedback became a great A/B test for ARC Raiders, helping the studio learn from player feedback and improve its game.

Sony Patent Hints at PSSR 2.0 Upgrade for PS5 Pro to Reduce FPS Drops and Resolution Cuts

Since the launch of PS5 Pro in November 2024, Sony has been working to improve visual quality and resolution in games optimized for its most powerful console. While PSSR has delivered strong results in some titles, other releases have experienced visual glitches and graphic issues that affected performance and image stability.

That is why Sony, led by system architect Mark Cerny, is working closely with AMD to bring key parts of FSR4 into PSSR for PS5 Pro.

How PSSR 2.0 Aims to Fix FPS Drops and Resolution Issues

PSSR 2.0

A new patent filed by Sony at WIPO, titled “Graphics Processing”, gives an early look at the changes planned for PSSR 2.0. The update is expected to arrive in the coming months as part of the dev kit.

The patent describes a new method that will help avoid FPS drops and reductions in native resolution in PS5 Pro games. In simple terms, developers may no longer need to lower a game’s base resolution in order to use PSSR.

The key idea mentioned in the patent is real-time quantization. When a game faces a heavy data load, frame rates can drop for a few seconds. Instead of lowering the native resolution, PSSR 2.0 could temporarily reduce the use of CNN to stabilize performance.

CNN stands for convolutional neural networks, a type of machine learning system that PSSR uses to reconstruct part of the image and increase its resolution. When FPS drops, PSSR 2.0 would reduce the use of CNN to bring performance back to normal, without cutting the game’s native resolution.

According to the patent, real-time quantization reduces the use of neural networks when the GPU load is too high. This helps smooth out FPS drops, especially in fast-paced games.

For now, this is still a technical concept, and it remains to be seen how well it will work in real games. If it performs as expected, Sony could solve one of the main issues players have noticed with PSSR on PS5 Pro.

In other PlayStation news, it’s been reported that Sony won’t raise the price of the PS5 despite rising RAM prices, and will rely on software to cover the gap.

Red Dead Redemption New Update 1.002 Released on PS5, Xbox Series

Out of nowhere, Rockstar Games has released Red Dead Redemption update 1.002 (complete version 1.002.000), on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S today, February 24.

We can confirm this update is only out for current-gen consoles and not the PC, and last-gen versions.

Given the game’s age, don’t except any new content, as this deals with technical issues more than anything else.

Red Dead Redemption on PS5, Xbox Receive Minor Update on February 24

So far, Rockstar Games has not acknowledged today’s update, but we do know what it fixes on both platforms.

Thanks to community members, we know today’s patch adds the music on the game selection screen on PS5 (it was only available on the PS4 version previously). On Xbox Series X|S, the patch fixed a bug where the pause menu sounds would sometimes not play.

Other than that, there’s no mention of new content or major gameplay-related fixes, which isn’t surprising.

Red Dead Redemption was released on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S in December last year, and was offered as a free upgrade for those who owned the title on PS4, Xbox One. Those who owned the game on previous gen consoles who had save data, they can use that on the native current-gen version and continue where they left off, which is a nice touch.

Some of the new features of the native PS5/Xbox Series version include:

  • 60 frames-per-second experience
  • Enhanced image quality
  • HDR (High Dynamic Range) support
  • Resolution reaching up to 4K

If Rockstar releases a proper changelog for today’s update, we’ll add it to the article.

  • Feats can now be rerolled three times per day for free.

  • Ziplines can no longer be placed on carryable objects.
  • Mines, traps, or remote flares can no longer be placed on other deployables.

Balance Changes

Weapons

In 1.13 we shipped an update that included an optimization fix for our weapons, but as many of you noticed this had the unforeseen consequence of lowering the total fire-rate of semi-automatic weapons. In 1.13.1 we reverted that fix, but something else made it into the update that shouldn’t have.

Many of you have reported a “shadow buff” to the weapons, and after investigating it we found that 1.13.1 had inadvertently impacted our weapon input buffers. Where you previously would have to time your inputs to the intended cadence of a weapon to reach its full potential, you could now instead spam-click the button, effectively bypassing any skill requirement to learn the weapon’s cadence. We want to keep some of that skill expression, but we also recognize that what we had previously didn’t feel very responsive. To address that and land in some sort of middle ground, we have since added more levers for us to control the weapon input buffering window on a gun-to-gun basis, and we’ve adjusted the semi-automatic weapons accordingly. The weapons should now still be more responsive to fire when spam-clicking, but the players who choose to pace their shots will see better results.

In addition to these changes, we’ve also been looking into the balance between our low tier and high tier weapons. A lot of you have expressed concerns that some low tier weapons outperform our higher tier weapons at significantly reduced cost, and we’re hoping to shift that balance a bit while still keeping some of that flexibility to punch above your weight if you are skilled enough. We’re starting by reducing the overall TTK of the Stitcher and Kettle, and increasing the maneuverability of the Aphelion and Jupiter. We’re also taking a second stab at the Venator, which still seems to be dominating a lot of our PvP encounters.

Stitcher

Dev Note: The Stitcher has played its role well as a close quarter weapon that rewards thoughtful positioning, but we’ve found that its fast TTK can sometimes lead to situations where you’re ambushed and killed before you have much time to react. As many of you have pointed out, the high headshot damage is a large contributor to this problem. The TTK is often fine when the weapon is aimed at the center of mass, but when you get close enough to land the majority of the shots in your target’s head, we see TTK numbers that are much faster than other weapons. These changes aim to bring that headshot TTK a bit closer to the body shot TTK by both reducing the full-spray accuracy of the weapon, and reducing the headshot multiplier.

  • Reduced Headshot Multiplier from 2.5 to 1.75
  • Reduced Base Damage from 7 to 6.5
  • Increased Per Shot Dispersion by around 50% (Making it bloom faster)

Kettle

Dev Note: The Kettle has been in a bit of a weird place. Its high damage output was intended to be used in a more medium range setting at a more deliberate pace, but we see many of you bringing it up in close quarters and effectively turning into an SMG. We want to distinguish it more from the Stitcher, but we also see that you enjoy the versatility of this weapon. So we’re reducing the base damage to bring its TTK more in line, but we’re keeping the high headshot multiplier to see if we can push players to go for more headshots.

  • Reduced Base Damage from 10 to 8.5

arc raiders update 1.000.015

Venator

Dev Note: Since the last nerfs to the Venator in 1.3.0, we’ve kept an eye on our data to see how it performs. During this time many of you have raised concerns that it’s still dominating in PVP, and our data has shown that it is one of the highest performing weapons in the game right now. For a weapon of this tier we want it to perform well, but maybe not this well. We’re looking at an overall nerf to its damage to bring down its TTK, and if that doesn’t work we might need to look into its ammo consumption and cost efficiency.

  • Reduced Headshot Multiplier from 2.5 to 2
  • Reduced Base Damage from 9 to 8

Jupiter

Dev Note: In PVP, the Jupiter does the most headshot damage in the game, but it’s quite difficult to hit headshots with it at longer ranges. You’re also quite vulnerable when you use it in closer ranges since missing one shot will make you a sitting target until you either reload or swap weapons. We’re increasing how much you zoom when you use ADS to give you a better view of the targets you’re trying to hit, and we’re reducing its equip and unequip time to make it easier to swap to a secondary weapon to follow up on your shot.

  • Improved ADS Magnification from ~1.9x to ~2.2x
  • Improved Equip Time from 1.2s to 1.05s
  • Improved Unequip Time from 0.9s to 0.75s

Aphelion

Dev Note: We weren’t quite happy with the previous balancing of the Aphelion. It was intended to be a more PVP focused legendary weapon, but it couldn’t quite keep up with the pacing of many of our other PVP weapons. We’ve made some changes to make it feel less bulky and a bit more nimble to use, to make it more viable in PVP.

  • Reduced Base Reload Time from 4.5s to 3.5s
  • Reduced Time Between Shots from 0.9s to 0.7s
  • Reduced Vertical Recoil by ca 50%
  • Improved ADS Settle Speed by ca 35%

Phil Spencer Retires, as New Xbox Boss Is Named

After close to 40 years at Microsoft, Xbox brand boss Phil Spencer is retiring, and it’s set to take effect this coming week, on February 23.

The news comes from leaked sources familiar with the situation, as an internal email has been sent to Microsoft staff today informing them of the leadership changes about to take effect at the software giant’s gaming division.

It’s not just Spencer that’s departing Microsoft, as Xbox President Sarah Bond, who was pegged to be Spencer’s successor, has resigned.

Microsoft’s Xbox Division Sees Major Shake-Up

Xbox Handheld

With Sarah Bond’s departure, the new CEO of Microsoft Gaming will be Asha Sharma, currently the President of Microsoft’s CoreAI. Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty meanwhile is being promoted to Chief Content Officer and will work closely with Sharma.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has penned a later that was sent to Microsoft staff that read (via IGN):

Gaming has been part of Microsoft from the start. Flight Simulator shipped before Windows, and you can practically ray‑trace a line from DirectX in the ’90s to the accelerated‑compute era we’re in today.

As we celebrate Xbox’s 25th year, the opportunity and innovation agenda in front of us is expansive. Today we reach over 500 million monthly active users, are a top publisher across all platforms, and continue to innovate across gaming hardware, content and community, in service of creators and players everywhere.

I am long on gaming and its role at the center of our consumer ambition, and as we look ahead, I’m excited to share that Asha Sharma will become Executive Vice President and CEO, Microsoft Gaming, reporting to me. Over the last two years at Microsoft, and previously as Chief Operating Officer at Instacart and a Vice President at Meta, Asha has helped build and scale services that reach billions of people and support thriving consumer and developer ecosystems. She brings deep experience building and growing platforms, aligning business models to long-term value, and operating at global scale, which will be critical in leading our gaming business into its next era of growth.

Matt Booty will become Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer, reporting to Asha. Matt’s career reflects a lifelong commitment to games and to the people who make them. Under his leadership, Microsoft Gaming has grown to span nearly 40 studios across Xbox, Bethesda, Activision Blizzard, and King, which are home to beloved franchises including Halo, The Elder Scrolls, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Candy Crush, and Fallout.

Together, Asha and Matt have the right combination of consumer product leadership and gaming depth to push our platform innovation and content pipeline forward. Last year, Phil Spencer made the decision to retire from the company, and since then we’ve been talking about succession planning. I want to thank Phil for his extraordinary leadership and partnership. Over 38 years at Microsoft, including 12 years leading Gaming, Phil helped transform what we do and how we do it. He expanded our reach across PC, mobile, and cloud; nearly tripled the size of the business; helped shape our strategy through the acquisitions of Activision Blizzard, ZeniMax, and Minecraft; and strengthened our culture across our studios and platforms. I’ve long admired Phil’s unwavering commitment to players, creators, and his team, and I am personally grateful for his leadership and counsel. He will continue working closely with Asha to ensure a smooth transition.

We have extraordinary creative talent across our studios and a global platform that is second to none. I’m excited for how we will capture the opportunity ahead and define what comes next, while staying grounded in what players and creators value.

Please join me in congratulating Asha and Matt on their new roles, and in thanking Phil for everything he has done for Microsoft and for our industry

Phil Spencer also penned a letter as well, which is available below.

Subject: A New Chapter for Microsoft Gaming

When I walked through Microsoft’s doors as an intern in June of 1988, I could never have imagined the products I’d help build, the players and customers we’d serve, or the extraordinary teams I’d be lucky enough to join. It’s been an epic ride and truly the privilege of a lifetime.

Last fall, I shared with Satya that I was thinking about stepping back and starting the next chapter of my life. From that moment, we aligned on approaching this transition with intention, ensuring stability, and strengthening the foundation we’ve built. Xbox has always been more than a business. It’s a vibrant community of players, creators, and teams who care deeply about what we build and how we build it. And it deserves a thoughtful, deliberate plan for the road ahead.

Today marks an exciting new chapter for Microsoft Gaming as Asha Sharma steps into the role of CEO, and I want to be the first to welcome her to this incredible team. Working with her over the past several months has given me tremendous confidence. She brings genuine curiosity, clarity and a deep commitment to understanding players, creators, and the decisions that shape our future. We know this is an important moment for our fans, partners, and team, and we’re committed to getting it right. I’ll remain in an advisory role through the summer to support a smooth handoff.

I’m also grateful for the strength of our studios organization. Matt Booty and our studios teams continue to build an incredible portfolio, and I have full confidence in the leadership and creative momentum across our global studios. I want to congratulate Matt on his promotion to EVP and Chief Content Officer.

As part of this transition, Sarah Bond has decided to leave Microsoft to begin a new chapter. Sarah has been instrumental during a defining period for Xbox, shaping our platform strategy, expanding Game Pass and cloud gaming, supporting new hardware launches, and guiding some of the most significant moments in our history. I’m grateful for her partnership and the impact she’s had, and I wish her the very best in what comes next.

Most of all, to everyone in Microsoft Gaming, I want to say “thank you”. I’ve learned so much from this team and community, grown alongside you, and been continually inspired by the creativity, courage, and care you bring to players, creators, and to one another every day.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together over the last 25 years, and I have complete confidence in all of you and in the opportunities ahead. I’ll be cheering you on in this next chapter as Xbox’s proudest fan and player.

Phil

XBL: P3

It’s a sad day for Xbox fans who have seen some challenging times hit Microsoft’s gaming division when it comes to console exclusivity and market share dominance.

This means that the next Xbox, rumored for release in 2027, will be the first Xbox console without Spencer in some capacity.

We here at MP1st wish nothing but the best for Spencer wherever his next journey takes him.

Ubisoft Is Working on Two “Very Promising” Far Cry Games and Several Assassin’s Creed Titles

Ubisoft has a lot on its plate right now, as CEO Yves Guillemot recently revealed what the teams at Vantage Studios are currently working on.

This new subsidiary is in charge of leading the company’s three main franchises: Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.

CEO Yves Guillemot Outlines Vantage Studios’ Plans for Ubisoft’s Biggest Franchises

ubisoft new Far Cry

In an interview with Variety, Guillemot confirmed that two new Far Cry games are in development. He described them as “very promising”, but did not share further details.

He also confirmed that several Assassin’s Creed projects are in progress. These include not only single-player titles but also multiplayer experiences. This news may reassure fans who were worried that multiplayer projects had been canceled along with the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Guillemot said, “We have a solid pipeline underway across Vantage Studios. Under the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ brand, several titles are in development, spanning both single-player and multiplayer experiences, with the ambition to further grow a community that exceeded 30 million players last year. On ‘Far Cry,’ anticipation is high, and we currently have two very promising projects in development.”

Among the rumored projects, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake is getting a lot of attention. The game was recently rated, which suggests that an official reveal may happen soon. In addition, reports say the remake will be more than just a visual upgrade, with enhanced gameplay mechanics and new systems, including improved combat and wildlife ecosystems.

He also spoke about the strong state of the Rainbow Six franchise. According to Guillemot, “‘Rainbow Six’ is coming back strongly, recently passing 2.5 million players daily, and will continue to grow. The Six Invitational in Paris drew impressive viewership on-site and online, and the launch of the Chinese league alongside participation in the first Esports Nation Cup shows that the franchise’s global esports footprint is expanding.”

He added, “We have also outlined our ambitious Year 11 roadmap and confirmed that the highly-anticipated ‘Rainbow Six Mobile,’ which makes ‘Rainbow Six’ playable from anywhere, will now launch worldwide on February 23, 2026.”

Overall, Ubisoft is putting its attention on its main franchises, including new Far Cry titles, more Assassin’s Creed games, and ongoing support for Rainbow Six.

In other news, an Assassin’s Creed game set during the post-American Civil War period was reportedly canceled, with reasons including the backlash surrounding Assassin’s Creed: Shadows and the current political climate in the United States.

DICE Prioritizing Larger Maps for Battlefield 6; Has “Heard the Message Very Clear” From Players

Do you find Battlefield 6’s maps a little bit on the small side? If so, you’re not the only one, as multiple players have also voiced their concern on how BF6’s maps lean heavily into the small side, which prioritizes infantry combat over anything.

The good news is, DICE is aware of the map sizes in Battlefield 6 being on the small side, and we should be seeing the fruits of that labor in the near future.

DICE Aware Playerbase Wants Bigger Maps in BF6

In an interview with PC Gamer, DICE Seasons Producer Philipp Girette mentioned they will act on the feedback from players that say they want bigger maps in the game for that classic Battlefield experience.

Girette said, “We don’t want to spoil too much yet, but we’ve heard the message very clear,” as he also added, “”You’ve seen recently in Battlefield Labs that we started testing Golmud Railway, one of the older Battlefield maps. That is one of the responses [to that feedback] that we can give there, and the rest is for the future.”

There’s no release window planned for Golmud Railway’s addition to the BF6 map pool, but I would be very shocked if it wasn’t part of Season 3.

Speaking of new seasons, Season 2 just recently launched, and it includes a new map, weapons and more.

God of War Ragnarok Files Include Hidden Dialogue Hinting at an Atreus Sequel

Is Cory Barlog preparing the sequel to God of War: Ragnarok? For now, the only thing known is that Sony Santa Monica’s mysterious new project is expected to release in 2027.

The series recently appeared again during a State of Play event, where the remaster of the original trilogy was announced, along with the surprise release of Sons of Sparta, a metroidvania-style prequel. However, there was no sign of a direct follow-up to Ragnarok.

God of War Ragnarok Files Suggest Sequel Focused on Atreus

God of War Ragnarok sequel

At least until now. A dataminer explored the game’s files and found a hidden sequence that suggests a continuation with Atreus as the main character.

On the God of War: Ragnarok subreddit, the dataminer shared his findings and claims they point to a sequel. His credibility comes from a previous discovery: he also examined the files of God of War (2018), where he found the prologue of Ragnarok, including the scene of Atreus killing the bear and discovering that Tyr is still alive.

This time, he found a hidden sequence where Athena talks about Odin and Atreus. It begins with the phrase: “To lefkó fídi tha se fáei,” which means “The white snake will eat you.” The Robed Figure then adds: “One failed us. One rejected us.”

But that is not the only scene. Another hidden sequence shows Atreus traveling to other pantheons. He is accompanied by someone named Mau, who only says the word “Mau,” similar to how Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy only says “I’m Groot.” Thanks to his gift for languages, Atreus is able to understand everything he says.

There is also a detail that supports the rumor of an Egyptian setting. Mau means “cat” in Egyptian, and the cat is one of the manifestations of the Sun God Ra. They have this exchange:

Atreus: “Wake up. I think we’re close.”
Mau: “Mau?”
Atreus: “Hey, you insisted on coming along. C’mon, let’s have a look.”
Mau: “Mau.”
Atreus: “I hope you’re right. Sounds like we found it.”

Even if these scenes are real, they might just be unused content from Ragnarok or material that will never be used in a future game. For now, they are only hints and not official confirmation.

In other news, Kratos voice actor Christopher Judge says God of War remakes will feature a “new fighting system” rather than simple visual upgrades.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Update 1.13/1.013 Released for Progression Issue Fixes

RGG Studios has released the latest patch for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties on February 20, and this aims to fix a few key issues affecting the action game.

The developers call the latest patch as Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties update 1.13/1.013 (complete version 1.013.000), and this fixes a known progression issue.

Read on for what players can expect from this title update.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties New Update for February Addresses Progression Issues

While RGG Studio hasn’t released the official patch notes yet, the studio did comment on a progression issue affecting the game on all platforms.

Issue

In all versions up through v1.12, if the player is in Chapter 9 and saves while in Purgatory, upon loading the save data, the time of day will be switched to nighttime, and the limousine outside Millennium Tower required for the “Find Tamiya’s limousine” story event will not spawn. This prevents the player from continuing with the main story.

Patch v1.13

After applying patch v1.13, if the above bug is occurring, players may load save data from Purgatory or Kamurocho. This should properly reset the time of day to daytime and allow for continuation of the storyline.

※ Note: If save data from Downtown Ryukyu is loaded in v1.13, the time of day will remain nighttime. In this case, please travel to Kamurocho and save once more. Loading this save data from Kamurocho should reset you to daytime and fix the story progression issue.

If the developers release an official changelog, we’ll update the article with the info.

For those on the fence whether to pick the game up or not, read our extensive review to see if it’s worth the dough.

Bloodborne Remake by Fan Blocked by Sony, Developer Was Hoping Bluepoint Was Working on An Official One

The announcement of Bluepoint Studios’ closure has shocked the gaming world. Known for its work on Demon’s Souls, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and much more, the studio had built a strong reputation over the years.

Many are wondering how a studio that had grown steadily over the years could be treated this way. Among those disappointed is developer Maxime Foulquier, who shared a story loosely connected to the situation, showing just how much Bluepoint’s work was valued by PlayStation fans.

Sony Blocked Fan’s Bloodborne Remake, He Said Nothing Because He Hoped Bluepoint Was Working on It

Foulquier said that Sony stopped him from making a Bloodborne remake. In fact, it was more of a small game inspired by Bloodborne, set in the same world. He also shared the cease-and-desist letter he received from Sony’s lawyers, telling him to stop the project. At the time, he did not react badly because he thought it might mean that Bluepoint was already working on an official remake.

“With the closure of Bluepoint Studio, now feels like the right time to share something,” Foulquier wrote on X. “Sony sent me a cease and desist letter regarding my second Bloodborne remake project that I posted about in November 2024.”

“I was incredibly excited about this project and worked on it a lot in my spare time. Then I received the letter you can see here. I told myself, ‘Okay… I expected this might happen. Maybe it’s because a real Bloodborne remake is actually in development, with Bluepoint leading it for the PS6 launch?’” Clearly, that was not the case, as recent events have shown.

He added, “I didn’t say anything in March 2025 because I decided to repurpose all the assets I had created for that project into a new game set in my own universe, inspired by Bloodborne. My plan was to reveal the letter once the game was ready to communicate.”

“Unfortunately, plans have changed. I’d rather speak about it now, as my disappointment is immense. The disappearance of Bluepoint is a tremendous loss for the industry and for the dream of a Bloodborne remake,” he explained.

At one point, Foulquier openly questioned Sony’s choices: “Why are you making such absurd decisions, Sony?” He ended his message on a bitter note: “Shutting down such a talented studio while you’re not even making a Bloodborne remake and on top of that, sending cease and desist letters to small fan projects? Are you serious?

Highguard New Update 1.007 Adds a New Base and Raid Tool

Wildlight Entertainment has released Highguard update 1.007 on consoles and PC today, and this adds new content to the game for free.

Players can expect a new base in Cloudreach, n new Raid Tool, and new cosmetics in the in-game store.

For a deep dive into the new content released, head on below.

Highguard’s Update for February 19 Adds New Content

New Base – Cloudreach

  • This base has a large airship docked high above the ground, with the Anchor Stone in the cargo hold of the ship itself. The deck surrounding the airship overlooks the entire area, giving defenders an elevated position to snipe from, but allows quick repositioning to both generator rooms, where combat quickly turns close quarters.
  • Small ventilation shafts located above the generator buildings allow defenders to throw grenades in to flush out attackers if a bomb is planted.
  • The layout is strongly forward facing, with only 3 plant points – one on the front, right and left sides. If attackers feel rushed to plant at the front, they then have to fight across the entire base to get to the generators, which are located in the back buildings.

New Raid Tool – Lockpick

This powerful new Raid Tool quickly fires darts that open doors and windows, temporarily disabling them for the enemy and giving control to your team.

Swap to the Lockpick in your loadout menu at the start of a match, or find them randomly in red Weapon Chests.

Darts are a new ammo type that can be found in chests and supply barrels, or purchased from Trader Flynn.

The Lockpick has 1 Purple variant.

Warden’s Lockpick (Purple Version)

  • A powerful version of the Lockpick that casts an energy field in the lockpicked door or window. For teammates, passing through it gives a short speed boost. For enemies, it delivers a small zap that damages, slows and highlights them for a very short time.

New Store Offerings!

Trader Flynn will now offer 7 items every week instead of 5. Some items will be repeats of previous weeks, allowing players to earn rewards they might have missed.

Moonbruin Mount

This new mount will be available for purchase in the store, and comes in 4 different versions in the same bundle!

Wayfinder Bundle Series

These 4 new bundles will be available for purchase in the store.

There are no gameplay-related changes in this title update, though we suspect that will change soon. Although with the dev team kind of gutted, we’re unsure whether we’ll see gameplay changes right away given the lack of manpower.
