No “Hard Stop” Planned for Lords of the Fallen Updates; Dev Calls Studio a “Souls-like Powerhouse”

Released in 2023 CI Games’ post-release support of Lords of the Fallen is nothing short of legendary. Not only has the studio released bug fixes, but even new features and other pieces of new content all for free.

As we near the game’s second year anniversary, the studio isn’t looking to stop supporting the action-RPG, even if its sequel has already been announced, which is something the company confirmed to MP1st.

Lords of the Fallen Won’t Stop Seeing Support in 2025, Promises CI Games

Lords of the Fallen Secret Classes Reset

Speaking in an exclusive interview with MP1st, we asked CI Games when they plan to stop supporting the RPG.

MP1st) How does this update (2.0) set the stage for the future of the franchise? Is this where the studio stops, in terms of major updates, to shift focus on working on the next game? Or can we expect a small team to still be working on this while the main team moves to the sequel?

Answering the question was David Valjalo, Creative Portfolio Strategist at CI Games. who shared they don’t plan to stop supporting it this year. Not only that, but Valjalo adds that the current game proves the developers mean business, and can now be considered a “Soulslike powerhouse.”

Valjalo states, “We don’t have a hard stop planned for Lords of the Fallen (2023) – we have plans to keep iterating until the end of the year at least, for example – but of course our focus has shifted to the sequel in terms of priorities. The sequel will take everything great about the current game and expand it, so key studio talent is agile, bringing learnings from the current game into the engine room of the sequel. CI Games is now a Soulslike powerhouse and I think the current game is a sign that we mean business, we won’t make the same mistakes and the next game will be a flag in the sand for Lords of the Fallen as a franchise.”

While it’s commendable that CI Games is still supporting the RPG, can they be classified as a Souls-like powerhouse? Perhaps if Lords of the Fallen 2 knocks it out of the park, that conversation can be had.

In other Lords of the Fallen news, its sequel, which was formally revealed at gamescom, is set to launch sometime in 2026. Not only did we get to see the first trailer for it, but CI Games even outlined some of the action game’s key features.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – How to Start the DLC: The Order of the Giants

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s first DLC, The Order of the Giants, is now available! While the DLC comes as a download in the form of a new update, some have been wondering exactly how to play the DLC, as the game doesn’t make it quite clear.

We have that answer, whether you’re jumping into the game for the very first time or returning after months of having it beaten.

How to Play The Order of the Giant DLC in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

If you’re like me, who played Indiana Jones and the Great Circle when it was initially released (review here), then chances are you’re completely lost on how to access the new DLC. There’s no menu option from within the game, as this isn’t some standalone experience that you can hop into freely. Instead, it’s been seamlessly integrated into the main game as a brand-new questline that you can undertake once you’ve hit a certain point in the story.

If you’ve beaten the game already, the easiest way to access the DLC is to fast travel to The Vatican via the menu. Once you arrive, you should have a new quest called “A Mystery Begins,” which directs you to a priest near the Fountain of Confession.

That’s all there is to it! Once you talk to this priest, the new DLC story mission will begin.

Now get out there, adventurers, you’ve got a new mystery to solve, and more artifacts to get back to a museum.

The Sims 4 New Minor Update 2.19 Fixes Confirm Button Bug as New “Adventure Awaits” DLC Is Released

Maxis has released a minor patch for The Sims 4, and this is released alongside the new DLC “Adventure Awaits” that adds a ton of new activities for your sims. Players will see the new patch download as The Sims 4 update 2.19, and this should be a small patch int terms of file size.

Read on for what got changed today, as well as info on the DLC.

The Sims 4 New Update on Sept. 4 Brings Fixes to the Confirm Button via Patch 2.19

Today’s update resolves the extended length of time the “Confirm” button remained greyed out after players disable packs based on community feedback.

Bug Fixes

Base Game

  • [EA Forums] Resolved an issue where the “Confirm” button remained disabled for far too long after players disabled packs from the pack selection screen.
    • NOTE: The actual time delay is largely specific to the specs of your machine, though some delay on the Confirm button is necessary to ensure that all selected packs are fully loaded before players can confirm any changes. This delay ensures packs load correctly, which provides a smoother and safer experience for players when managing their pack selections.

That’s about it for today’s minor update.

As for the new DLC, check out the trailer and official details.

The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits DLC Now Live!

Per the press release: “In The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits Expansion Pack, Sims can break free from everyday life to discover, explore and nurture their spirit of play with new Hobbies, Custom Venues, Getaways and more. Whether your Sims are making memories with Imaginary Friends, honing new Skills like Archery or Paper Crafting or escaping to a custom revitalizing fitness retreat, bold adventures wait around every corner!”

More info about it is available on The Sims website.

Madden NFL 26 New Update 1.006 Sprints Out on Sept. 4

Electronic Arts has silently released Madden NFL 26 new update 1.006 (complete version 01.006.000), and for those expecting this patch to update the roster, we have some bad news for you, as the teams have not been updated to reflect the current season.

Given the massive patch we got a week ago that introduces new Playbooks, Stadiums and whatnot, don’t expect this patch to be content-filled, as it’s more for fixes than anything else.

Madden NFL 26 New Update Version 1.006.000 on Sept. 4 Released Without Much Fanfare

Madden NFL 26 Day-One Update 1.003

Update: While EA has not revealed any patch notes, the dev team did confirm that the Week 1 rosters are now live and that all 32 teams have been updated.

This is something EA has triggered on their side, so the update earlier should have rolled out the data for gamers, with the developers simply needing to turn it on when the time came, which is now, since the NFL season has officially kicked off.

Original Story:

After waiting literally hours after maintenance to see if the devs will acknowledge the update, sadly, it was all for naught. As aside from the server maintenance earlier today, and the free play weekend kicking off this week, the dev team has been silent about today’s patch download.

Some of the issues that still persist even after this patch include:

  • Favorite Plays Playbook duplicate bug
  • Favorites Folder still freezes
  • Lag out in menus and locks up the game (consoles and PC)
  • H2H issues still persist
  • Body morphing still broken

We’re unsure whether today’s patch fixes some of the issues that we noted from last week’s folow-up patch to Title Update 3 dropped, which include:

  • Using the “Hurry Up” offense won’t let the player hike the ball, and there is a bug that one of your receivers just stands.
  • Crossplay issues
  • Game crashing or won’t launch
  • Xbox Series X  and PS5 turns off while playing
  • Trophies/Achievements bugged (Passing Yards, Rushing Yards as some of the known bugged achievements)
  • Desync issues in every MUT game
  • Create-a-Player or Prospect body type isn’t changing
  • Game freezes when switching play calling tabs to “Favorites”
  • Franchise mode freezing issues

We’ve reached out to EA to seek any statement on what today’s patch fixed or if it’s more for stability than anything else. If we get a response or if the dev team posts any official patch notes, expect the article to be updated.

If you can confirm that some of the bugs listed above have been fixed, leave a comment and let us know.

Developer id Software has released a new patch adding quality-of-life features to Patch 2, which was rolled out to DOOM: The Dark Ages last month. The studio calls this Patch 2.1 Hotfix 1, which also improves Enemy AI.

Console gamers will see this download as DOOM: The Dark Ages update 1.009 (complete version 01.009.000), and this should be live on all platforms. Expect weapon balance changes, technical fixes and a lot more all detailed in the official patch notes.

DOOM: The Dark Ages New Update on Sept. 4 Applies Huge List of Fixes via Patch 1.009

The Ripatorium

Quality of Life Improvements

  • Player’s selection of equipped guns, upgrades, melee weapon, and shield rune will now persist once adjusted
  • Added ammo and health pickups to Ripatorium arenas

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the crash issue during combat with too many enemy AI present in the Ripatorium as well as in the campaign
  • Fixed the issue with the base Vagary not dying when executed while dazed
  • Fixed the issue where Champion Vagary had a chance to spawn when the base Vagary was selected
  • Fixed an issue where swapping any Shield Rune after starting the arena would cause some of the upgrades to no longer work, including Steadfast, Harvester, Blade Master, and Retaliation
  • The Steadfast Shield upgrade now functions when an unbroken shield is restoring health
  • Fixed an issue where multiple upgrades where being applied at the same time for Accelerator and Shredder

Enemy AI

General gameplay balance refinements (some of these were previously Active Tunables that have been removed from that article and committed to the game in Update 2.1 Hotfix 1). These are denoted below as: (*PT) for “Previous Tunable”

  • Fixed the issue where Imp, Soldier, Zombie, and Arachnotron’s swipe melee attacks dealt no damage if passing through other demons first
  • Armored enemies will now falter when their armor is destroyed with Shotguns
  • Fixed an issue where the Vagary did not falter after taking damage from the Dreadmace direct damage or AOE damage once certain upgrades had been purchased
  • Fixed the issue where Pinky Rider Armor prevented falters from the Slayer’s landing impact
  • Fixed the issue where Whiplash did not perform a falter from the Slayer’s landing impact
  • Reverted the Cacodemon health buff applied in Update 2
  • Reverted the Mancubus health and armor buffs applied in Update 2
  • Reverted changes to Mancubus Flamethrower damage applied in Update 2
  • Reverted changes to Mancubus Fireball speed and size applied in Update 2
  • (*PT) Chaingunner increased cooldown between burst fire attacks & shortened duration of burst fire attacks

Gameplay

  • Equipped Guns, upgrades, Melee weapon, and Shield Rune are now retained when reloading checkpoints during the campaign and when transitioning between missions
  • Shield Charge AOE (Area of Effect) will now cause health to drop from killed enemies
  • Fixed an issue where the Shield Saw could not be raised to perform a Block/Parry during the reload animation of the Super Shotgun
  • Added the ability to interrupt the Super Shotgun reload animation to melee at the same frame we allow a Block/Parry
  • Shortened the delay for the player to interrupt Rocket Launcher and Grenade Launcher firing animations to Shield Block/Parry or Melee
  • Fixed an issue introduced in Update 2 that allowed players to potentially switch weapons earlier than intended after firing certain guns including Super Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher
  • Fixed the brief slowdown experienced after Parrying or using a Melee combo when ‘Parry & Melee Slow Down’ is set to 0
  • Players will now be restored to a minimum of 75 health upon checkpoint reload if they hit the checkpoint with less health than that amount (this excludes Pandemonium and Ultra Nightmare which don’t have checkpoint reloading)
  • Corrected an issue where the low ammo notice appears well before the Cycler Plasma Rifle should be notifying for a low ammo state
  • Fixed the issue where the player could briefly become locked out of swapping to the BFC while using the Chainshot
  • Fixed an issue where upgrading all melee weapons could prevent the Melee Expert and Berserker achievements from completing

Weapon Balance

Rail Spike Impaler

Developer Clarification: Impaler headshot damage was not universally increased in Update 2. The approach we took generally favored decreasing Impaler body shot damage in instances where scoring all headshots did not result in a meaningful difference in the total number of shots required to daze or kill a demon. We did increase headshot scaling in a few instances (E.G. Cyberdemon and Whiplash) where reducing body shot damage would have resulted in a longer-than-desired time-to-kill

  • Balance adjustments including:
    • Reduced Impaler damage vs. Cyberdemon
    • Reduced headshot scaling of empowered Impaler projectiles (via Salvage and Chronospike upgrades) vs. Whiplash
    • Reduced headshot scaling of non-empowered Impaler projectiles vs. Revenant

Super Shotgun

  • Balance adjustments including:
    • Increased Super Shotgun damage vs. Hell Knight and Battle Knight
    • Increased Super Shotgun damage vs. Cosmic Baron
    • Reverted the damage adjustments against Mancubus and its armor applied in Update 2
    • Increased Super Shotgun damage vs. Pinky Rider and Armored Pinky Rider
    • Increased base Super Shotgun (without upgrades) damage vs. Vagary armor

Levels

Active Tunable gameplay refinements are denoted below as: (*AT) for “Active Tunable”

Combat Encounter Updates

Holy City of Aratum

🗡Final Encounter

  • Adjusted the Hell Knight respawn

Siege – Part 1 & Siege – Part 2

  • Increased time between maintain spawns in several encounters

Siege – Part 2

🗡Courtyard Section

(*AT) Fixed an issue where Titan gore collision would disrupt projectiles

Ancestral Forge

  • Resolved issues where additional combat encounters could be triggered erroneously

🗡Final fight

  • Removed the Imp and Mancubus maintain support in the Agaddon Hunter intro
  • Expanded the Arachnotron maintain window

Spire of Nerathul

🗡Komodo Boss Fight

  • Removed the maintain support from the Komodo intro

🗡Hanging Ship Path

  • Fixed the Arachnotron maintain respawning with inconsistent timing at the end of the encounter

🗡Overlook Secret

  • Fixes the Battle Knight maintain occasionally spawning as another enemy AI

The Kar’Thul Marshes

🗡Morale fight

  • Set Nightmare Imp Stalker maintain to begin after both Imp Stalkers are dead, rather than just one

Resurrection

  • Resolved issues where additional combat encounters could be triggered erroneously
  • Added plasma ammo in front of both plasma gates on the Maykr ship
  • The “Energy Shield” tutorial pop up does bypass the “Tutorials Off” setting

Final Battle

  • Changed the enemy AI composition in the final Atlan encounter so there are fewer armored enemies

This is one big patch, which is unsual unless it’s a content drop. If id Software releases another one, expect it here on MP1st.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Not Available on PSN on Release Day, But Don’t Panic

If you’re one of the many people excited to get their hands on Hollow Knight: Silksong, you’re probably having issues getting it on Steam and on the Switch. However, it seems that even PlayStation gamers are having issues right now.

Regardless if you’re on PS4 or PS5, it seems Hollow Knight: Silksong on the PlayStation Store can’t be accessed, even if it states it’s out today — which it is.

Silksong PSN Release Is Still Happening Today, Sept. 4

Checking it ourselves, Hollow Knight: Silksong can’t be accessed on the US PSN Store for the time being. Before anyone riots and bugs Team Cherry about it, it seems it’s a rolling update, with some regions already getting it according to some gamers.

There’s also a workaround for it, which you can do now (thanks, ):

Silksong PSN Purchase Workaround

  • Log in to your PSN account via browser
  • Click the link to access Silksong (EU, US) on the store
  • Download the game on your PS4/PS5 and enjoy!

If you’re planning on getting the game, our review should hit the site soon, since we’ll be playing it today like everyone else.

In the meantime, here’s a look at the game’s features and an official look at gameplay:

  • Discover the fallen insect kingdom of Pharloom! Explore mossy grottos, gilded cities and misted moors as you ascend to the shining citadel at the top of the world.
  • Engage in lethal acrobatic action! Wield a huge suite of deadly moves as you dance between foes in swift, beautiful combat.
  • Craft powerful tools! Master an ever-expanding arsenal of weapons, traps, and mechanisms to vanquish your enemies and explore new heights.
  • Solve shocking quests! Hunt down rare beasts and solve ancient mysteries to grant the wishes of the downtrodden and restore the kingdom’s hope.
  • Face over 200 ferocious foes! Beasts and hunters, monsters and knights. Defeat them all with bravery and skill!
  • Vanquish over 40 legendary bosses! Battle fabled heroes and fallen kings in epic combat to decide the kingdom’s fate.
  • Challenge Steel Soul mode! Once you conquer the kingdom, test your skills in a new mode that presents a more formidable challenge.
  • Experience a stunning orchestral score! Hollow Knight’s award-winning composer, Christopher Larkin, brings melancholy melodies, symphonic strings and heart-thumping, soul strumming boss themes to the adventure.

We’ve waited for years, so what’s a few more minutes/hours, right?

Are you picking up Silksong? Let us know if the workaround fixes things for you.

  • Fixed an issue where Indy’s whip might detach itself from a branch in the spiral staircase leading down to the “leech room” in the Blessed Pearl mission
  • Fixed camera shaking issue if player tried to dive in shallow water during the first visit to the Sukhothai village at night

Iraq

  • Fixed an issue where the clouds during the end credits appeared in very low detail if you were not using the Higher Resolution Texture Pack (which is not installed on Xbox Series S unless the player chooses to)

UI

  • Fixed an issue where the “continue” button might appear visually corrupted if pausing during a level load
  • Fixed the description of the “Performance Metrics” menu option

Accessibility

  • The in-game Manual text now adjusts to match the player’s choice of enabling/disabling control toggles

Audio

  • Fixed an issue where the sound of plane propellers might be heard persistently in other levels after revisiting Shanghai
  • Gina’s voice lines when using the boat radio in Sukhothai are now radio-processed correctly

PC

  • Fixed an issue where switching between Native TAA and other upscalers (DLSS, XeSS or FSR) might cause a crash on some systems
  • Fixed an issue where Frame Generation might disable when skipping cutscenes or restarting checkpoints
  • Fixed an issue where the glass on Clerical Doors appeared incorrectly when using DLSS Ray Reconstruction
  • Fixed an issue where water caustic reflection effects may not appear on walls when DLSS Ray Reconstruction is used
  • Fixed an issue where applying some ray tracing options while in the Shanghai level may have caused a crash in certain situations
  • Fixed an issue where, if you linked your Steam version saves to your Xbox account, you could temporarily corrupt your saves on one of your devices if quitting a play session before any progress was made in that session

Xbox

  • Fixed an issue where subtitles might briefly flicker between camera cuts in cutscenes

Steam Deck

  • Fixed issue where there may be a black screen for a long while generating shader pipelines during the first launch

Localization

  • Additional one-liners from Indy when finishing combat are now available in non-English languages too
  • Fixed an issue where controller input was reversed in the Arabic localization on the “Apply Video Settings” confirmation menu
  • When playing in the Russian language, based on community feedback, the keyboard bindings now always use Latin alphabet characters rather than Cyrillic

While we don’t get a lot of patches for the single-player game, don’t be surprised if we see a follow-up patch be released to fix any issues with the new features or DLC. If MachineGames releases one, expect it to be posted on MP1st.

For those curious whether to pick up the PS5 or Xbox version, read on for our comparison review.

Steam and Nintendo eShop Down on Sept. 4 Due to Hollow Knight: Silksong Launch

With Hollow Knight: Silksong finally launching after all these years, it seems demand for it is so high that it crashed two digital storefronts! Both Steam and the Nintendo eShop are facing outages this September 4, with users thousands of reports surfacing.

While I was aware of interest in the sequel to 2017’s Hollow Knight, I don’t think anyone could have predicted this.

Steam and Nintendo eShop Goes Down and Offline Thanks to Silksong

Downdetector has mentioned over 9,000 reports have surfaced for Steam’s status, which seems to be normalizing somewhat now, though there are those who are still seeing issues on the app.

Chances are, it’ll sort itself out in an hour or two, so no need to panic.

If you’re interested in picking up Silksong, here’s a look at the game’s features:

Check out the launch timing of the game for different regions to know when it will unlock for you.

If Steam or any other platform goes down again, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Space Marine 2 Anniversary Update Version 1.010 Is the Biggest Patch to Date

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has just turned one year old today! To mark this occasion., Saber Interactive has released the Space Marine 2 Anniversary Update, which the dev team calls version 10.0!

Console marines will see this download as Space Marine 2 update 1.010 (complete version 01.010.000), and this is the biggest patch Saber has released for the third-person action game to date. This patch inserts a new operation called Vortex, new enemies, new weapons, and a crap-ton of balancing changes.

Error: Invalid URL or the post is not found on this site.

There’s a lot to dig into, so read on for the patch notes to see what got added.

Space Marine 2 Anniversary Update Out on Sept. 4 and Brings It to Version 1.010/10.0

New Features

NEW OPERATION: VORTEX

In Vortex, you’ll return to the Astropathic Relay on Avarax, which has once again fallen silent. Your task is to investigate and cleanse the Relay of lingering heretical presence, and confront a mighty enemy lurking in its deepest levels.

NEW ENEMIES

  • Mutalith Vortex Beast

Mutalith Vortex Beast is a new boss in Operation Vortex. It is a towering, warp-twisted monstrosity that drags reality into spiraling chaos. It rends and crashes with its claws and unleashes storms of sorcerous energy upon the Astartes.

  • Chaos Spawn variations

Chaos Spawns are new Majoris enemies that can appear in all Operations featuring the Thousand Sons.

Chaos Spawns are dark abominations, powerful melee units infused with forbidden sorcery. They are fearsome opponents, especially when encountered in greater numbers. Their varied mutated limbs grant them a highly diverse and lethal moveset. However, it is an Astartes’ duty to study them and purge the heresy.

NEW WEAPONS

  • Power Axe (for PvE and PvP)

The Power Axe is a swift, aggressive power weapon capable of delivering relentless, infinitely chaining attacks. Wielded by the Vanguard, Assault and Bulwark classes, it allows a Space Marine to unleash a hail of blows upon their foes.

This is a fierce yet tactical weapon. Successfully executed perfect parry puts the Marine in a Power Stance, creating a moment of tactical choice: step back and release a devastating Power Wave or press forward to continue the fearsome combo.

  • Pyreblaster and Pyrecannon (for PvE)

In this update, we are introducing a new weapon: the Pyreblaster & Pyrecannon, for the Tactical and Heavy classes.

The flamer weapons now apply a burning effect on enemies, which inflicts significant damage over time (which scales based on difficulty). In addition to that, flames also slow down Minoris enemies.

An effective strategy would be to try to set as many enemies on fire and keep them burning

PVE

NEW PVE MODE “STRATAGEMS”

Battlefield Conditions change weekly and daily, completing a Stratagem grants a new currency called “Accolades”.

Reworked Data Refinement Shop on Battle Barge:

The “Data Refinement” shop has been renamed and now offers a variety of additional items. Now, it will also redeem old Community Giveaways and Accolades items.

You can spend Accolades in the “Refinement & Redemption” shop to unlock unique items.

  • Added 6 Heroic Weapons to unlock with Accolades
  • Added 6 Heroic Armour Pieces

PVP

NEW PVP MODE: HELBRUTE ONSLAUGHT

Two teams of Chaos Marines will fight to control strategic areas, but also to take control of the Helbrute. The first team to take control of an objective gets to control the Helbrute, until the opposite team takes it down. One player gets to control the Helbrute at a time, and this player will be picked randomly among players who participated in securing the control point. For the team that failed to secure the first control point to have the Helbrute on their side, they will need to slay their opponents’ Helbrute and secure a new designated control point.

Controlling the Helbrute grants the team a strong advantage, but killing it rewards significant amounts of points to your team. One last thing, the Helbrute uses a Helbrute Thunder Hammer in melee, and a Plasma Cannon in range, and it can unleash a battle cry with its special skill to regenerate its HP.

NEW PVP MAP: BRIDGE

ADDED 6 CHAOS RELIC ARMOUR SETS FOR PVP

These Armour Sets are now available to unlock by playing and scoring kills in Eternal War mode. For each skin, you will have to get 9 kills in more than 9 Eternal War matches to unlock the skin of the class you’re playing.

NEW ORDEALS ADDED FOR PVP

ADDED NEW FINISHERS

  • Full set for Power Axe.
  • Full set for all melee weapons against Chaos Spawn.
  • 1 new finisher against Biovore

ADDED CHAMPION ARMOUR PIECES FOR CUSTOMISATION (ALL CLASSES)

This long awaited feature is now available! You can now mix various parts of the Champion’s Armours on different classes.

Please note that not every armour part will be available for mixing in every class.

NEW SEASON PASS CONTENT:

  • Black Templars Champion Pack added.
  • Imperial Fists Cosmetic Pack added.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Release Times – Here’s When You Can Start Playing

Hollow Knight: Silksong is launching globally this Thursday, meaning those hoping to play it early due to time zone differences will have to wait until the game becomes available to everyone.

Lucky for you, we now know the release times and when you can start playing Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Release Times

As revealed by Team Cherry, here’s the release schedule for Hollow Knight: Silksong:

Hollow Knight: Silksong Release Times

  • PT (Pacific Time): 7:00 AM (9/4/2025)
  • MT (Mountain Time): 8:00 AM (9/4/2025)
  • CT (Central Time): 9:00 AM (9/4/2025)
  • ET (Eastern Time): 10:00 AM (9/4/2025)
  • GMT/UTC (Greenwich Mean Time/Coordinated Universal Time): 3:00 PM (9/4/2025)
  • CET (Central European Time): 4:00 PM (9/4/2025)
  • EET (Eastern European Time): 5:00 PM (9/4/2025)
  • IST (India Standard Time): 8:30 PM (9/4/2025)
  • SGT (Singapore Time) / HKT (Hong Kong Time): 10:00 PM (9/4/2025)
  • JST (Japan Standard Time): 11:00 PM (9/4/2025)

Unlike many other games, which often have midnight launches based on regions, this one does not, likely due to the game not being available for pre-ordering. That, and Team Cherry is likely hoping to avoid anyone having their experience spoiled online as they wait for the launch in their region. Those playing in the Western Hemisphere will be able to play it early in the day, while those on the Eastern side will get to play the game later in the afternoon and evening, depending on your region.

Not that long of a wait, as we are just three short days away from the launch of this highly anticipated sequel. Lots of expectations, though if there is one thing we’re certain of, that’s that Hollow Knight: Silksong is likely going to be a massive success commercially. Let’s hope that the game lives up to the hype, though if you liked the original Hollow Knight, chances are you’ll love what Silksong has to offer.

Hollow Knight: Silksong launches on September 4, 2025, on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

ARMA Reforger Minor Update 1.040.055 Applies Workshop Addition, as Known Issues Are Listed

Bohemia Interactive has released a minor update for ARMA Reforger that brings the game to version 1.040.055. This is a small download across all platforms, and was specifically rolled out for Workshop improvements.

Alongside that, we’ve included the list of known issues as of September 4, which should be fixed in the coming weeks and months via future patches.

ARMA Reforger’s Minor Update on Sept. 4 Is for Workshop Improvements

General

  • Player statistics on the debriefing screen are reset if reconnecting to a server
  • Characters are not colliding with helicopter blades when standing on top of them
  • The supply amount does not update in the open inventory when using an arsenal
  • Some vehicles spawn without crew or passengers in GM
  • Some items in the inventory can look blurry and have a low-poly texture
  • The objective list does not open properly on the Map screen when holding J (PC) or Menu+B (controller)
  • The controller cursor in inventory resets its position after the action
  • AIs will sometimes walk into barbed wire
  • DieselPowerPlant_01 has an incorrect wreck model
  • Fragmentation does too much damage to building prefabs
  • Trees are too easy to destroy and can cause a chain reaction
  • AIs are not able to walk around parked vehicles on the server
  • After the building collapses, the electric wires with connectors stay afloat
  • Buildings and trees revert to the base state upon loading a saved game
  • The client hosting the server loses the ability to command the AI after another client joins
  • Players can get stuck if multiple players attempt to enter a gunner seat at the same time
  • Supply stashes on the ground floors of the buildings are not removed upon building destruction
  • AIs will not disembark from vehicles if you give them a command too close to the vehicle they are sitting in
  • If an operator is killed during the loading animation before the shell is dropped into the barrel, it breaks the mortar
  • When using drag and drop to replace weapon attachments in the inventory, the old attachments are dropped on the ground
  • Players cannot equip a bayonet to the weapon in the weapon inspection until they move the bayonet to a different inventory slot
  • The vehicle gunner’s nametag is not visible
  • Picking up a weapon from the arsenal overrides the current weapons UI HUD

Workshop

  • Pages can sometimes load infinitely

Xbox

  • Trying to publish a save from Xbox in Game Master will fail

PS5

  • Motion sensor customization settings are not being saved

Combat Ops

  • Players are sometimes not able to destroy the Antenna
  • The Support Attack Task can sometimes not progress and get stuck
  • Hideouts, gear, and player location are not saved
  • Everon – Deliver tasks have Exfil title and icon in the Deployment map
  • Arland – player has the option to leave the faction, even though the scenario shouldn’t allow it
  • Warning: Tasks are visually missing in the scenario until the game is restarted

Don’t expect Bohemia to fix all these issues in one update, as more often than not, developers roll these out as part of smaller patches. Once another patch is out, we’ll have it up on the site.

The last update released for the game was also a minor one aimed at fixes, which was pushed out last week.

Dying Light 2 Update 1.079/1.79 Adds Auto Backup for Save Files

Techland has released the latest Dying Light 2 update for consoles and PC, and while this doesn’t add new content, it does feature some nifty quality-of-life additions that will surely be appreciated by the community.

Console players will see this as Dying Light 2 update 1.079/1.79, and as version 1.24.2 on PC.

Expect a small download across all platforms for today’s Dying Light 2 patch.

Dying Light 2 Receives Auto Backup System to Keep Save Files Safer via Patch 1.079.000/1.79

Dying Light 2 Update 1.70

The announcement from Techland mentions the following:

  • Adds auto backup system that aims to keep progress and save files safer
  • Adds skip button to intro text
  • Bug fixes

This is more of a hotfix than an actual client-side major update, but even so, it’s one that’s a good addition. Techland has not outlined the bug fixes included in the patch, but if we get a comprehensive list of fixes, we’ll add it to the changelog.

Next up for the franchise is the release of Dying Light: The Beast, which will be unleashed later this month. If you’re on PC, check out the PC requirements needed to run the game.

If you’re looking for another horror game to play now, Cronos: The New Dawn is set to be released tomorrow, and our review speaks highly of it, stating, “Cronos: The New Dawn might not revolutionize the genre, but it’s still one journey worth taking.”

Marvel Rivals Latest Update on Sept. 4 Applies Version 1.000.043

Before Season 4 drops next week, NetEase has a new Marvel Rivals patch available for download on September 4, which brings a new store item and various bug fixes.

Console gamers will see this patch appear as Marvel Rivals update 1.00.043, and there are no hero balance changes, though the bug affecting Blade’s damage reaction to Emma Frost and Dr. Strange has been fixed as well.

Read on for everything new in the official patch notes by NetEase.

Marvel Rivals September 4 Update Fixes Blade Damage Bug via Patch 1.000.043

New In Store

1. Peni Parker – Wasteland Mech Bundle

Available from: September 5th, 2025, at 02:00:00 (UTC)

Fixes

All Platforms

1. Squashed a Discord doppelganger issue where, for players who connected Discord, sending a friend request would have duplicate requests appear.

2. Corrected a bug where certain display ratios made it impossible to set costume Exclusive SFX.

3. Corrected some confusion in Custom Game – Tournament Room spectator mode, where team colors were displayed incorrectly when checking them by pressing ESC.

4. Defeated some Hydra-level persistence where canceling password input when entering a locked custom game to spectate would trigger an endless pop-up loop.

Maps and Modes

1. Patched up a batch of pesky map bugs that could trap, squish, or send heroes tumbling into weird places.

Heroes

1. Frosty Magic & Strange Gains: There was a bug where Emma Frost’s Telepathic Pulse and Doctor Strange’s attacks against Blade during Bloodline Awakening were giving them some extra bite, abnormally boosting Emma’s Energy and Doctor Strange’s Dark Magic. Everything is now under control; no more sucking bonus power from The Daywalker.

Don’t forget, Season 4 will kick off on September 12, and not only is it bringing a new Vanguard hero, but this is also the day when PS4 gamers can join in on the action. Yes, in case you didn’t know, NetEase is bringing Marvel Rivals to PS4 (though not on Xbox One).

Expect a deluge of new players to populate the servers once Season 4 drops.

NBA 2K26 New Update 1.004 Brings Version 1.2 Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements

Following the day-one update for NBA 2K26 released a few days ago, Visual Concepts has released patch 1.2, which brings bug fixes and performance improvements. There are no gameplay-related changes in the patch, which is understandable given it’s not even officially out yet.

Console gamers will see this download appear as NBA 2K26 update 1.004 (complete: 1.004.000), and it should be a relatively small download.

Read on for what Visual Concepts had to say with the patch that’s out now on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Sorry, last-gen console owners, same as with the last patch, this doesn’t seem to be planned for release on PS4 and Xbox One.

NBA 2K26’s Latest Update on Sept. 4 Brings Version 1.004 Bug Fixes

While there are no gameplay-related changes in this patch, as Visual Concepts say they are continuing to monitor games across modes by players of all skill levels for now, there are a handful of bug fixes and improvements applied to various modes.

  • Fixed a disconnect that was occurring for some users in Pro-Am games
  • Fixed a reported hang when attempting to go online in MyCOURT while customizing the floor

  • Coaches will no longer be removed from lineups when editing them after first entering the mode
  • Added safeguards to prevent players from getting stuck in the Welcome to MyTEAM tutorial

MyGM

Expect the first major gameplay patch to be released before Season 2 starts. Once that’s out, we’ll have it on the site.

    • The Camo Tracker displayed in the Lobby Challenge panel and In-Game via the Options Menu will now automatically display the next Camo for your “Last Used” Weapon, if applicable. “Last Used” is determined as:
      • In the Lobby: the Primary Weapon equipped to your Favorite Loadout
      • In-Game via the Options Menu: the current Weapon you’re holding
    • If you’ve earned all Camos currently available for the current Weapon it will not be automatically shown. Additionally, any Weapons you’re tracking the Next Camo for will appear before the automatically displayed “Last Used” Weapon in the Camo Tracker.

Assault Rifles

Marksman Rifles

Sniper Rifles

There’s also a wave of changes made to Zombies mode, which Activision talked about in-depth.

Moving forward, Call of Duty Next is kicking off later this month, whcih should blow the game’s multiplayer mode wide open. One thing confirmed is that Carry Forward won’t be in Black Ops 7, which means we’ll be safe from silly-looking skins for at least the pre-season.

Cronos: The New Dawn – Essential Tips to Help Your Journey

With Cronos: The New Dawn, Bloober Team is launching an all-new horror IP, with entirely new mechanics and other nuances that we’ll experience for the first time. If you’re thinking of taking up the title of The Traveler and braving through the game’s gruesome world, we’re here to help.

We’ve listed a few essential tips we think players will want to know before playing, based on our experience playing through the game.

This short guide is spoiler-free, so you’re free to check each tip out without worrying about story-related stuff being spoiled.

Cronos: The New Dawn Tips to Know Before Playing

Max the Inventory First and Fast

You’ll be able to upgrade your suit in Cronos using Core, which you’ll find plenty of in the game. The thing you’ll want to do when you find one is to upgrade your inventory. space. Needless to say, your inventory space is very, very limited in Cronos, and this is the most important thing you’ll want to max out for your suit early on, since you’ll soon won’t have enough space for bullets, key items, and so on. Plus, you’ll have to do a lot of backtracking to a save station for your item stash, which is never fun.

Explore and Explore More

While Cronos is a linear experience, and you won’t be able to go to places you’re not supposed to, there are small pocket of areas that are hidden from plain sight. You’ll want to go there first before going to where you need to be, since these areas usually have Energy, bullets, Core and more.

When in doubt, just go the other route where your in-game objective marker says you should be going. More often than not you’ll stumble across an area that has a few items you’ll want to collect. Check doors if they are boarded up from the other side, anything you can duck under and whatnot.

Use Your Stomp Wisely

Let’s get it out of the way: the melee attack in Cronos is useless. You’ll need more than seven direct hits in order to kill the most basic of enemies. The stomp, however, is a lot more useful. You can shoot the legs of enemies, and when they fall down, stomp on them for extra damage. Usually you’ll be able to sneak in two stomps before the enemy completely rises.

This is a good way to save ammo, though it’s not a feasible strategy if you have mulitple enemies rushing at you.

You Can Refund Upgrade Energy

In Cronos, players can upgrade every weapon at their disposal, and if you ever change your mind about a a weapon, you can reverse the upgrade process for a small fee, and n return, you’ll get the Energy you spent back.

There are multiple weapons in the game, so choose which ones are your “mains” since you won’t be able to max every gun in one playthrough.

Follow the Cats

You’ll see cats in the game, and if you do, follow it! Collecting the cats isn’t just nice since you’re saving them from being attacked by the enemies, but each one has a surprise item drop. Some drop Core upgrades, while others have nifty surprises that we’ll leave for you to discover.

Pick a Gun to Level Up

Cronos: The New Dawn dismemberment

There are multiple guns to find and upgrade in Cronos, and you won’t be able to upgrade all of them in one playthrough. My advice is, choose which ones work best for you and upgrade those. I personally chose the auto handgun (Dagger) to max out since it hits hard and the game gives handgun ammo the most.

We won’t mention what the other guns are, but this is more of a case of preference of which ones you want to max out.

Save Bullets, See Red — Shoot!

During major combat encounters, you’ll often see red barrels or gas canisters littering the levels. Save these for groups or for the big enemies. Lure them in, shoot the red barrel, and watch them burn.

There are also barrels and gas cans that can be used over and over, and if you spot one, you’ll know it can be “repaired,” I suggest conserving ammo and run around and let the enemies chase you while you’re waiting for these to cooldown. Once it’s ready to be rebuilt, do so, and burn enemies again. Rinse and repeat and you’ll save a ton of ammo in the process.

Use Your Torch and Pyre Intelligently But Don’t Hoard Them

The Torch is extremely powerful in Cronos. Same with the Pyre, an explosive throwable that you’ll unlock early on. While these two items are valuable for taking out mobs, it’s best to use them for boss encounters, given they take up inventory space. Having said that, if you find yourself constantly dying in one combat encounter, then by all means, use the Torch and Pyre to get past it.

You can easily craft both with Metal Scraps which you can find scattered or via the in-game shop. If there’s a save room near where you are, use your Torch and then just run back to the save room to get a new one.

Always Be Ready to Burn and Cut Bolts

silent hill 2 devs new game

If it’s your first time playing Cronos, you won’t know what the next corner brings. Aside from enemies, there are also loads of locked rooms to open. Some require you to burn through whatever mass is covering the entrance, while others will require the player cut open the chain lock with a bolt cutter you’ll obtain early on (you won’t miss it since it’s part of a mission requirement to advance).

Make sure to always carry a Torch and the bolt cutter at all times. Unless, of course, you’re OK running back and forth the save room whenever you see a locked door. No? I thought so.

There you have it. Do you have any tips for Cronos: The New Dawn players that we forgot to mention? If so, leave a comment and let us know. Make sure to check out our review of Cronos to see why this new horror game is worth playing.

PSN Is Down and Having Issues on Sept. 3, With Gamers Having Issues Creating Parties, Changing Status

Can’t see friend invites to games or can’t see your friends list on your PS5 and PS4? It’s not just you, as players have reported issues with the PlayStation Network on September 3 (Sept. 4 for those outside the US), with most reporting issues creating parties or with their friend lists.

What’s odd here is, some players are able to log in normally, while others are having issues connecting to PSN as it says services are busy and that they should try later.

There is no maintenance announcement from Sony, so this is something unexpected for a lot of gamers.

PSN Parties, Friends List and Connection Issues Affecting PS5 and PS4 Gamers

Multiple reports have surfaced on Reddit about the PSN connection issues, with gamers bombarding downdetector with tickets, which saw over 3,000 new reports.

The official Ask PlayStation X (formerly Twitter) account hasn’t said anything or acknowledged the server issues yet, though that should be changing soon. Even the official PlayStation Network status page lists everything as “all services up and running.”

We suspect that will change soon. Again, we want to point out that some people are able to connect normally, while others are having issues. It might be a DNS issue, hence why some aren’t affected.

While you’re waiting for the servers to go back up, why not check the new PSN Store sale “Ready, Set, Play!” promotion to see if there are any titles you might want to pick up.

We’ll be monitoring the situation and will update the article as more info surfaces. If you can connect (or can’t), leave a comment and let us know which country/area you’re connecting from, so that other gamers are aware.

In other PlayStation news, a State of Play dedicated to 007: First Light airead earlier, where we not only got our first gameplay look at the action game, but also its release date, pre-order bonuses, info on its voice cast and more.
