Black Desert Online Update 2.27 Out for Red Battlefield This Feb. 17

Pearl Abyss has released Black Desert Online update 2.27 this February 17, and this one is for the return of the Red Battlefield and more! Check out the full release notes on this latest patch below.

Black Desert Online Update 2.27 Patch Notes:

Adventurers,

The latest update is here, and brings the return of Red Battlefield, improved rewards for Red Battlefield and a round of balance changes. Read on to find out everything this update has to offer.

Red Battlefield Returns

● Red Battlefield has been readded to the game,

● The rewards that can be earned from Red Battlefield have been improved.

– Changed the “Red Seal” obtainable depending on the results of the Red Battlefield to “Battlefield Token.”

The “Battlefield Token” is a new form of the “Red Seal,” and you can exchange a less number of this item for Red Essences. Also, you can additionally obtain other items helpful in your Adventure.

* Therefore, the quest objective for the Victory at Red Battlefield! daily quest that you can complete at the Red Battlefield was changed to Get Battlefield Token x5.

* You can no longer obtain the “Red Seals” from the Red Battlefield. However, it was changed so that you can sell it for 500,000 Silver to an NPC Vendor.

– Increased the rewards you can obtain depending on the results of the Red Battlefield as follows:

Rewards Before After
Victory Reward Red Seal x5
6,000,000 Silver
Battlefield Token x5
10,000,000 Silver
Defeat Reward Red Seal x2
4,000,000 Silver

6,000,000 Silver

– Added the following weekly quest that you can accept and complete by handing over the Battlefield Token to the Red Battlefield NPC, Daz.

Participate in Red Battlefield to Get a Reward Hand over Battlefield Token x5 300 Contribution EXP

Spirit Perfume Elixir x3

Whale Tendon Potion x5

Ancient Spirit Dust x25

▼ Select one of the following:

Finto’s Filling Juice x5

– Added the Red Essence to be obtainable from the Arms Dealer, Ornella, in Heidel City, even with the “Battlefield Token.”

Required Items Exchanged Item
Red Seal x80 (same location for exchange) Red Essence x1
Battlefield Token x50 (Added new location for exchange)

This week we are bringing back Red Battlefield, which was temporarily disabled for stabilization. Through the stabilization work so far, we can confirm that we are approaching the targets we set, and have accordingly reopened Red Battlefield. We would like to thank everyone for their patience for those that eagerly waited for Red Battlefield, and will continue to do our best to provide more stable services through future updates.

Also, we improved the rewards obtainable from each region of the Red Battlefield. First, we increased the amount of Silver, a basic reward obtainable from the Red Battlefield. Also, we improved the “Red Seal” only consumed for “Red Battlefield Crystals,” to the “Battlefield Token” so that you can obtain items providing more direct aid in combat and growth. We also made it easier to obtain Red Battlefield Crystals by lowering the number of items required to exchange them for the Red Essence, so we hope you have a more enjoyable Red Battlefield experience.

Content Changes

● Alleviated the Contribution EXP required to acquire 1 Contribution point for each set of points depending on how many Contribution points the Adventurer has.

– The current Contribution EXP progress will be recalculated with the alleviated values the next time Contribution EXP is obtained after the update.

Contribution Points EXP needed reduced by
0 ~ 99 -5%
100 ~ 199 -5%
200 ~ 299 -5%
300 ~ 349 -10%
350 ~ 399 -20%
400 ~ 424 -30%
425 이상 No Change
A more sensible and strategic way of investing Contribution points was required when investing in certain nodes or purchasing houses due to the increasing variety of content available to our Adventurers. To lessen the burden for our Adventurers, we lowered the Contribution EXP required to obtain Contribution points for each point range. Now, you can more freely use your Contribution points acquired from playing active roles throughout the world of Black Desert

● Added rewards to the Black Spirit’s Adventure for repeated completions.

– Rewards for completed completions will apply for clears past the 100 round completion mark.

– After reaching 100 clears, you will receive rewards for every 10 clears.

* Once you’ve completed 50 additional rounds, the repeated completion rewards will reset, and you will receive the repeated completion reward for 10 rounds upon the next additional 10 rounds completed.

※ Rewards for completed completions exceeding 100 rounds before February 16th, 2022 were counted for, and added to your Black Spirit’s Safe.

– The [Secret Book] Guild Tactics (I to V) enables you learn any one of these three skills. However, once you choose to learn one of the skills, you will be unable to learn the other two.’

● Tiger Blade – Fixed the issue where the Super Armor buff was being applied when using the skill.
● When jumping forward in the main weapon stance, the issue where the sub-weapon would appear abnormally has been fixed.

So far, Musa has displayed superiority in the so-called “Super Armor trade” thanks to his excellent mobility via Chase and One Step Back, and skills with increased attack range such as Fiery Crevice, Below the Belt, and Crust Crusher. We’ve tried to keep this in mind while adjusting each skill’s damage in PvP, but after analyzing a large amount of data, we also discovered that some of Musa’s skills were dealing too much damage while hitting enemies with CC. Still, we decided to preserve Musa’s ability to chain Chase with skills that have defensive effects, allowing him to retain his Super Armor trading capabilities, but adjusted his damage when performing these combos in PvP.

● Prime: Carver – Fixed the issue where you would combo into other skills abnormally slower when using Red Blade.
● Tiger Blade – Fixed the issue where the Super Armor buff was being applied when drawn.

The reboot saw Maehwa now able to combo not only with Moonrise and Flow: Cloud Stab, but also utilize Ice Fang in combos with Frost Pillars and Flow: Tip of an Iceberg. However, we determined that Ice Fang, Frost Pillars, and Flow: Tip of an Iceberg deal rather high damage, and with the included Forward Guard effect, this made the Moonrise – Flow: Cloud Stab combo less popular. Also, and similar to Musa, Maehwa could deal high amounts of damage while nearly ignoring other players’ defense effects by comboing with Chase. Therefore, we made adjustments to the damage dealt so that you must combo after first applying debuff effects to deal greater amounts of damage.

● Implemented a new rule regarding the summoned creature’s Attack Power.
– If the summoner’s basic AP is 260 or lower, their summon will gain a fixed bonus AP of 100.
– If the summoner’s basic AP is 100 or lower, the summon will not receive an AP bonus.

● Lightning Storm – Changed to apply attack damage simultaneously.

The greatest changes the reboot brought to Witch and Wizard was to their summons. Unlike before, this change for the summoned creature’s basic stats to be directly affected by your character’s stats was to grant the feeling of your summon growing with your character. However, we received much feedback from Witch and Wizard players that their summons felt weaker after the reboot, where upon inspection, we discovered that the summons of characters with 260 AP or lower were not properly being affected, so we addressed this issue with the latest update.

Compared to other classes, Awakened Lahn was better equipped to choose when she could enter and leave combat thanks to powerful movement skills such as Primrose Sprint and Phantom, which grant her Invincibility, and Nimbus Stride. Together with her added Attack Speed or Accuracy Rate buffs, Lahn was able to enter the battle from a far more advantageous position than her peers. Thus, we decided to restrict her Stamina recovery when using Deadly Dance while moving, so that Lahn will now need to manage her Stamina more carefully when entering and leaving the battlefield.

The patch brings various performance improvements, fix for crashes and the like, which the game benefits a lot from based on our experience.

File Size: 525 MB

Here are the improvements based on the game’s update history on PS4:

  • Various performance improvements
  • Fixes for certain rare or conditional crashes
  • Fixes for certain rare or conditional progression blockers
  • Fixed a few instances where the Game Progression page in the Notebook would not update correctly
  • Addressed several cosmetic issues

If you’re on the fence regarding the game, go check out our review of Horizon Forbidden West here, where our reviewer AJ writes, “Aloy has quickly grown into one of my favorite Sony protagonists and the wide cast of characters each bring their own unique flavor to the game. Higher quality side quests, combined with a main campaign that feels grander in scope, and is much better paced than the original make for a strong story, and the beautiful environments, combined with highly detailed character models and improved gameplay make this an early candidate for Game of the Year.”

Battlefield 2042 Weekly Reset Challenge #11 & Reward (Feb 17 – Feb 24)

Morning Battlefield 2042 players, it’s that time of week again! Yup, there’s a new set of challenges and weekly rewards now live in Battlefield 2042. Here’s all the requirements to unlock the Battlefield 2042 Weekly Reset Challenge #11 (Feb 17 – Feb 24) rewards.

Battlefield 2042 Weekly Reset Challenge #11 (Feb 17 – Feb 24):

How to Complete and Earn Battlefield 2042 Weekly Reset Challenge #11 (Feb. 17 – Feb. 24) Reward:

  • 15 teammates resupplied with ammo.
  • 4000 damage inflicted.
  • 500 health repaired on teammates’ gadgets and vehicles.

This week’s reward is all about the SU-57, as there is a pretty looking skin, the Sonic Shock. Like past weeklies, there are three challenges to unlock this skin, and they’re not at all difficult. Equip an ammo kit and drop it in a highly populated zone. You should replenish 15 players quickly and it should be doable in one match. After, equip the repair tool and follow vehicles such as tanks around. You can even hop in and hop out once they’ve taken damage to repair them. I suggest playing conquest, rush, or breakthrough. As for damaging that’ll come natural. Once you have completed all three and claim the 15,000 XP you will unlock the SU-57 Sonic Shock skin, congrats!

Once you have completed all three challenges, you’ll earn yourself  15,000 XP points, as well as the Sonic Shock epic vehicle skin for the SU-57 Felon.

Every week on Thursday at 4:00am PT/6:00am CT/7:00am ET the Battlefield 2042 weekly challenges refresh, revealing a new weekly reward. If you are interested in staying up-to-date on when these rewards and weekly challenges drop, be sure to follow MP1st on Twitter, or keep a watchful eye on our guide page for Battlefield 2042.

Battlefield 2042 Breakthrough Tickets Updated to Help “Even Out the Odds”

Those who play Battlefield 2042’s Breakthrough mode, you’ll be glad to know that DICE has made some changes to make things fair. Rolled out via a backend server update (no download required), the Battlefield 2042 Breakthrough Tickets have been updated to help ni certain sections of matches. Check out the explanation and changes made below.

Battlefield 2042 Breakthrough Tickets Update Explanation and Breakdown:

We have updated ticket values for Attackers in Breakthrough as part of a backend update on our servers this morning.

Over recent weeks, we have been monitoring match outcomes and observed that the attacking team often started with the maximum number of reinforcements in the final sector, which is neither balanced, nail-biting, nor fair for the opposing team.

The purpose of this change is to help even out the odds and create a more exciting experience throughout the match, especially in the final sectors.

On 128 Player layouts, the attacking team will now start with a slightly increased ticket count, but subsequently receive less tickets per sector.

On 64 Player layouts, attackers will receive less tickets per sector, but will also start with less initial tickets to help address a wider gap in the balance.

Here’s a complete breakdown of the changes.

We’ll be monitoring these changes to ensure that it’s producing healthier rounds, and will let you know if we need to make further adjustments in the future.

Breakaway

  • 128 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 650 (up from 600)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 200 (down from 300)
  • 64 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 300  (down from 400)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 75 (down from 150)

Discarded

  • 128 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 750 (up from 600)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 200 (down from 300)
  • 64 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 350 (down from 400)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 100 (down from 150)

Hourglass

  • 128 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 700 (up from 600)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 225 (down from 300)
  • 64 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 300 (down from 400)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 75 (down from 150)

Kaleidoscope

  • 128 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 600 (No Change)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector:300 (No Change)

    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 75 (down from 150)

Manifest

  • 128 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 700 (up from 600)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 275 (down from 300)
  • 64 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 400 (No change)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 75 (down from 150)

Orbital

  • 128 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 700 (up from 600)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 150 (down from 300)
  • 64 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 300 (down from 400)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 75 (down from 150)

Renewal

  • 128 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 650 (up from 600)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 150 (down from 300)
  • 64 Players
    • Initial Tickets: 400 (No change)
    • Tickets Rewarded per Sector: 75 (down from 150)

While DICE certainly took their time in adjusting the tickets, at least it’s made more fair now compared to what the initial values were. Hopefully this is the start of the studio being more transparent on top issues just like what one of the devs said.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Review – New Beginnings (Switch)

Since 1996, the obsession with collecting and battling pocket monsters consumed the gaming industry. With over 30 mainline video games, Pokémon’s dominance in the virtual world has elevated the series into the upper echelon of gaming royalty, and it’s viewed as one of the greatest franchises in video game history. Despite experiencing tremendous success over the years, Pokémon games have developed slight stagnation issues regarding the core gameplay. Developer Game Freak attempted to inject a spark in the franchise with Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

A much different experience than the other mainline Pokémon games, Pokémon Legends: Arceus takes a page out of Nintendo’s other major franchise, Zelda’s Breath of the Wild (we made the reference), and presents an expansive open world. Before the Sinnoh region was founded in Diamond and Pearl, there was the Hisui region. The Hisui region is extremely vast with differing environments and wild Pokémon grazing and simply enjoying life. So, how does this new Pokémon adventure stack up? Does it reinvent the PokeBall or keep the status quo?

A Brave New World

From the get-go, it’s clear Pokémon Legends: Arceus is not like other Pokémon games. Instead of embarking on a wild adventure from your quaint hometown, you enter a mysterious world by falling from a portal in the sky. Still dazed from falling hundreds of feet from the sky, you’re discovered on a beach by Professor Laventon. After helping the professor scoop up his runaway Pokémon, he takes you to Jubilife Village, the main hub location of the game.

In the village, the professor vouches for your Pokémon catching abilities to the stone-faced Captain Cyllene. The captain instructs you to complete a series of tasks to become a full-fledged member of the Galaxy Team. Before you start the exam, Professor Laventon will gift you one of the three runaway Pokémon you helped him capture on the beach: Cyndaquil, Rowlett, and Oshawott. After you pass the exam with flying colors, a single mysterious bolt of lightning crackles through the night and you discover the true mission of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Commander Kamado, the leader of the Galaxy Team, informs you that a noble Pokémon has suddenly become frenzied and it’s our duty — a complete stranger who’s fallen from the sky — to subdue this massive beast. Once you’ve stocked up on necessary items, you’re set to hit the brave new world of Pokémon.

For better or worse, Pokémon Legends: Arceus will forever be compared to Breath of the Wild. Hell, I even made an earlier connection between the two, so, I’m part of the problem. But Arceus’ open-world is very similar to what Breath of the Wild offered…the good and the bad. The Hisui region is massive with varying environments that make it feel more like a connected complete world. Veteran players will notice everyone praising the all-powerful Sinnoh, which is the name of the region in Diamond and Pearl. Pokemon Legends: Arceus does an incredible job in showing these Pokémon in such a natural way and it almost makes me feel bad to capture them.

Battling Takes a Back Seat

Unlike previous mainline Pokémon games, Arceus does not place a high emphasis on battling pocket monsters. There are, of course, Pokemon battles, but they aren’t required in capturing wild Pokémon. When approaching wild Pokémon, you can hide in nearby tall grass and throw PokeBalls, which will increase your chances of capturing them, as well as throwing berries to distract them. If a Pokémon sees you, they’ll either try to run away or attack you and you’ll have to battle them.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus still has traditional Pokémon battles between trainers, but they’re severely cut down compared to previous entries of the series. Your character has a rival that you’ll battle a handful of times, though the game makes it very clear that you’re superior to them in every way. There’s a group of bandits known as the Miss Fortune sisters, who act as the game’s version of Team Rocket. The three girls were once part of the various clans in Hisui but decided to march to the beat of their own drum.

One of the biggest changes Pokémon Legends: Arceus made to the battling system is mastering moves. Pokémon can master a move by leveling up and repeated use of the technique, which will unlock two new styles of the technique: Strong and Agile. The Strong style will increase the damage of the move, but slow down your speed and cost you a turn in battle; the Agile style reduces the damage slightly but increases your speed to possibly allow you to attack again immediately. In some cases, the Strong style might increase an attack’s accuracy as well. If you encounter multiple Pokémon in the wild, there’s a chance that you’ll battle more than one Pokémon at a time.

While Pokémon Legends: Arceus continues the recent trend of dispersing experience points throughout your party, you won’t receive those points until after the battle has ended. So, if one of your Pokémon faint before the full completion of the battle and aren’t revived, they won’t receive any experience points, even if they defeated any number of Pokémon before falling. Because battling in general isn’t as much of a focal point, it’s not the end of the world if you miss out on experience points; plus, there is a merchant in the village that sells experience candies to help level up your squad. There are also Grit items that are used to increase the specific attributes of Pokémon, like attack power or defense, instead of their overall level.

Gotta Catch ‘Em All

Ever since Pokémon burst onto the scene, the main objective has always been to catch them all. Whether it was Professor Oak in the anime, or Professor Laventon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the goal remains the same: catch every Pokémon and complete the Pokedex. However, completing Laventon’s Pokedex does not mean simply capturing every type of pocket monster. In addition to capturing them, there are other research tasks the professor wants you to complete to help develop a full analysis of Pokemon. These tasks may include capturing the Pokemon multiple times, capturing it in different times of the day, whether you fed it any berries, or how you might have defeated it in battle. As you continue to complete the Pokedex, you’ll receive research experience points that sort of act like the gym badge progression system in previous games. As you increase your research level, Pokemon of higher levels will listen to you and rewards for completing tasks will be greater.

Unfortunately, Pokémon Legends: Arceus does not have any sort of multiplayer component. Typically, it’s common for Pokémon games to support online play for trainers to test their custom lineups against others and see who’s superior. Instead of preparing for online battles after completing the main story, there is a post game where you receive more tasks from Commander Kamado, as well as continuing to finish the Pokedex. The other major focus of online play is trading Pokémon, especially the ones who couldn’t evolve unless they were traded. Because this feature was not included, there are special items that can be given to such Pokémon to evolve them, like offering Kadabra a Linking Cord to evolve it into an Alakazam. Some of these high quality items, as well as high quality Pokémon, can be found in space-time domes that erupt randomly throughout Hisui.

Verdict

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a big step in the right direction for the series. It’s not that the tried and true formula of collecting eight badges and fighting against an elite league wasn’t working anymore, but Game Freak needed to inject a spark somehow, especially after the lukewarm reception of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Fans stated that the remakes were too safe and didn’t try to introduce new mechanics or expand the gameplay. Pokémon Legends: Arceus offers a Pokémon adventure that’s never before been experienced, something that can truly grow into something more. Even if we continue to see Pokémon games that are still styled off older titles of the series, there’s absolutely no way that we should do away with an open-world aspect. Seeing Pokémon interacting with the game world and not just appearing in random battles makes the experience feel more real and connected. Whether you’re a die hard Pokémon fan who’s never missed a game or someone who hasn’t played for a few generations (sorry, I didn’t have a DS), Pokémon Legends: Arceus is an adventure that shouldn’t be passed up.

Final Score: 8/10

Pros:

  • Emphasis on catching Pokémon
  • No random encounters
  • Different environments in open world
  • Strong and Agile style techniques enhance gameplay

Cons:

  • Can’t swap out Pokémon after defeating one in battle
  • No multiplayer component
  • Finding crafting materials can be challenging
  • Requests are good time killers but can be skipped entirely

Pokemon Legends: Arceus was purchased by the reviewer. Main version tested was on Nintendo Switch. You can read SP1st and MP1st’s review and scoring policy right here.

Street Fighter 5 Turns 6 Years Old Today as Fans Look Forward to the Future of the Series

One of the most divisive brawlers finally reached its peak after a hard road of development. Street Fighter 5 turns six years old today as fans look forward to the future of the series, and wonder when exactly Capcom will announce a new installment to their lucrative fighting game franchise.

Announced during the PlayStation Experience event way back in December 2014, Street Fighter 5 was the latest sequel in a series that made a revolutionary comeback after nearly a decade of dormancy. With the success of Street Fighter 4, and how that game helped bring the fighting game genre back to prominence, Capcom wasted no time developing a true follow-up to take advantage of their renewed success. Partnering with Sony Computer Entertainment, the game was developed to be an exclusive to the PlayStation platforms and PC, and was built using Unreal Engine 4.

Following several beta and stress testing phases, SF5 was eventually released on February 16, 2016 for PS4 and PC, and featured cross-platform play between the two systems. However the game was met with mixed reviews, with players citing that the game lacked content at launch, and several technical issues nagged players during gameplay, including input lag for the PS4 version of the game. Capcom slowly addressed fans concerns by releasing patches that aimed to correct several bugs and glitches, and as part of their post-launch strategy, they were releasing new characters for the game as DLC. This would run for a total of five seasons during the game’s life cycle, with players able to purchase these new fighters and other downloadable content through real world currency or fight money that could be earned by completing challenges in the game or winning online matches.

Through the course of its five seasons, Street Fighter 5 would be repackaged and rereleased as Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition and then Street Fighter V: Champion Edition to reflect the new content and characters that accompanied each new revision the game had. Story-wise, the game takes place chronologically before the events of Street Fighter 3 and the game’s narrative would be fleshed out in the free DLC story mode called “A Shadow Falls.” Fan-favorite characters such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Zangief would make a return as part of the game’s initial launch, while also introducing new fighters such as Necalli, Rashid, and Laura into the series for the first time. The roster count would expand from the base 16 to a whopping total of 46, with other fan-favorites like Guile, Sakura, Alex, Blanka, E. Honda, and even Dan making a comeback and also introducing new combatants such as Zeku, Kolin, G, and Luke.

Continuing the tradition of its predecessors, SF5 introduced new fighting game mechanics such as V-Skill and V-Trigger, giving each character unique abilities and moves to use in the game.  In later seasons, Capcom would add another set of V-Skills and V-Triggers for each character, as well as a new mechanic called V-Shift that allow players to dodge an attack and counter it at the expense of one bar in the V-Gauge.

Despite its rocky start and lack of content at launch, Capcom stuck with Street Fighter 5 and helped build it into a relatively solid fighting game experience that continues to be played and enjoyed in the fighting game community. The game is the flagship title of the Capcom Pro Tour, and is featured as a main title in fighting game tournaments held across the world such as the Evolution Championship Series and other eSports-sponsored events. After supporting the game’s content for five years, Capcom announced that the game’s post-launch was complete with the release of Luke as the final DLC character for Season 5. The developers even hinted that work towards the next chapter of Street Fighter has already begun, so it’s just a matter of time until Capcom officially announces what the future of the franchise will be.

Speaking of Capcom, the company has launched a countdown for a mystery reveal that will happen in a couple of days. Could it be Street Fighter 6? Here’s to hoping we hear of the next entry in the franchise soon.

The Last of Us HBO Series to Ari in 2023

The HBO Chief Content Officer has provided an update on the upcoming The Last of Us HBO series, the highly anticipated adaptation of the popular video game by Sony. While the network has yet to provide an actual release date for the adaptation, HBO and HBO Max Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys has mentioned The Last of Us series production is still underway, and fans will have to wait a bit more until they can see it.

Speaking to Deadline, Bloys says:

“It’s not going to air in 2022 — they are still shooting in Canada. I imagine you will see it in ’23”

While the news that it has been pushed to next year may certainly be a downer, Bloys is quite optimistic of its quality. He adds:

“I have seen some early episodes and I’m very excited. Craig did Chernobyl for us, he is a fantastic writer and director. What I’ve seen looks amazing, so I’m excited for it, but it will not be in ’22.”

The ‘Craig’ mentioned here refers to none other than Craig Mazin, who is best known for his groundbreaking work on Chernobyl, a critically-acclaimed series also aired on HBO

In case you missed it, Nick Offerman was recently tapped to play Bill in The Last of Us series, and you can read all about it here.

Marvel’s Avengers Upcoming Update 2.3 Outlined, Devs Not Ready to Reveal New Roadmap Yet

Crystal Dynamics has just released a lengthy post outlining the Marvel’s Avengers upcoming update 2.3, though with a caveat as well. It appears that a new roadmap is still in the works and is not ready for revealing just yet, and as such players will have to make do with the big changes coming in the next update. Check out a rundown of the studio’s post below to see what awaits players in update 2.3 of Marvel’s Avengers.

The post opens with the message that the new roadmap for the game is not entirely there yet:

We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting our next formal roadmap for Marvel’s Avengers. We aren’t yet ready to reveal the next full roadmap, but we can share some news about our next update and how we’re improving and changing the game in the near- and medium-term.

The studio is perhaps encountering some issues with regards to future content for the game, so it’s understandable that these things will get delayed sometimes. That said, players still have something to look forward to in the form of the patch preview Crystal Dynamics has laid out:

Marvel’s Avengers Upcoming Update 2.3 Preview:

To give some specific examples, let’s take a sneak peek at Patch 2.3 (currently planned to release in March 2022) and a sample of the changes it will bring, as well as some elements in progress for release shortly afterwards.

First, Nick Fury is returning to lead SHIELD and coordinate future Avengers Initiative missions alongside Director Hill.

This comes with a much-needed rework of the War Table and the mission-select system. We’re changing how to find, select, and launch missions on the leveling journey throughout the Avengers Initiative. Our primary goal is to improve the flow for new players to reduce frustration in the leveling process. The more organized and directed experience will also create larger, more concentrated matchmaking pools for higher-level players.

We’re also taking the opportunity to use what we learned in the past year to further balance gear perks. We’ve seen some amazing builds and plan on creating an even wider variety of powerful builds to discover and play. Alongside a wider variety of builds we’ll be making gear sets earnable through a wider set of play activities to give you more options to hunt for the perfect build in your own way.

The new Shipments system added in 2.2 has been really successful at providing another path to cosmetic rewards while rewarding play, but it has had a fairly major impact on our Units economy. We plan to make adjustments in the next patch by adding Units as additional rewards to a number of end-game activities.

Last update we experimented with allowing players to earn weekly rewards from completing the Omega-Level Threat and the Raid for each of their Heroes, not just once per account. We’ve really liked the results of that, and we’re planning to extend that per-Hero system to Mega Hives in the next update.

Lastly, we’ll continue to prioritize critical bugs like improving raid stability and player feedback on where we need to make tuning adjustments.

There you have it. One of the bigger ones mentioned seems to be the War Table rework, plus some tweaks to the new Shipments system due to how it impacted the in-game economy. It will be interesting to see how Crystal Dynamics handles these reworks in the next patch.

Ex-Witcher 3 Devs Form “Rebel Wolves” Studio, First Project Is a AAA Dark Fantasy Built on Unreal Engine 5

The game director of The Witcher 3 has assembled a group of developers to form Rebel Wolves, a brand-new startup studio focusing on creating “unforgettable stories and stirring deep emotions,” and “evolving the cRPG genre.” The studio also released scant details on their very first project which will be built upon Unreal Engine 5.

Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, Rebel Wolves CEO and Game Director best known for his work on The Witcher 3, had this to say on the formation of Rebel Wolves:

For all of us here at Rebel Wolves, video games were always something we felt destined to do—something ingrained in our DNA. Personally, I couldn’t be happier to have banded together with friends who share this passion. We’re developing a video game we’d like to play in a way that games should be made. We want to evolve the cRPG genre by creating unforgettable stories and stirring deep emotions, all while working as a tightly knit team united by a shared goal and ambition. Collectively, we envision Rebel Wolves as a place where experienced game developers can reignite their passion, where they can focus on their craft and pour their love into an amazing, ambitious title. We want to stay small and agile—a place where people know and care for each other.

As mentioned further in the press release, Rebel Wolves’ first project as a studio is a “AAA dark fantasy built inside the Unreal 5 engine.” According to the official website, it’s also the first of a planned saga. They also released a concept art for the untitled project, which you can view below.

  • Sentinel drone navigation has been reworked, allowing for better pathfinding over rough terrain, and allowing drones to pursue players into buildings and caves.

  • The full screen messages and notifications displayed when taking damage or charging shields have been adjusted for accuracy.

Destruction AllStars Update 3.000.002 Patch Notes | Destruction AllStars February 16 Patch Notes:

🛠️ Maintenance & Downtime🛠️

We will be performing some back-end server maintenance today, 16th February.

When: 12:00UTC Noon.
Downtime: Upto 1 hour.

No player facing changes, just some server side house keeping. We’ll update you all when the servers are back up!

That’s about it for the patch. The studio has not revealed specific changes or fixes coming for this update, although it’s worth noting that there are still some lingering known issues from the game as noted in the last major patch. You can check out the patch notes for that here, and see all the known fixes below:

Known Issues

  • Launching a Story Mode activity while in Photo Mode causes the game to soft lock, and will require a system reboot to solve.
  • Completed multiplayer matches may appear as activity cards that have no function.

We’ll update this post accordingly if there are any more notes released.

Dying Light 2 February 16 Update on PC Fixes Death Loop Bug & More

Techland has released a new PC patch for Dying Light 2 today! The Dying Light 2 February 16 update fixes the irritating death loop bug, and slots in a few more fixes to the zombie game. Read on for the official patch notes.

Dying Light 2 February 16 Update Patch Notes for PC:

Here’s the official word from Techland via the Dying Light Discord channel:

Hello survivors!
Another Patch for PC is now live.

– Fix for the death-loop bug. It prevents players from new cases and fixes the existing ones.
– Added Backup Save system that allows players to rollback the game progress and their inventory to the last game’s secure storyline save point.
– Added support for the BLOCK, ACTIVE LANDING, and JUMP ATTACK rebindings on the keyboard.

Backup Save system is an in-game feature that allows you to load a save based on the previous main storyline progress. Doing a rollback will revert you to a state of the game from that Backup Save. You unlock new Backup Saves as you progress through the main storyline.

Those on consoles, Techland has mentioned that the patch for consoles is under submission, so once it passes certification, it should be rolled out. For those playing, don’t forget, the Authority free DLC is now live, and there’s a new one called “Ronin” on the way, too.
