With Outriders getting a new content drop tomorrow via a free title update, players wondering whether there’s more coming to the game after that will be glad to know that an Outriders expansion titled “Worldslayer” has been announced, and it’s set for release in 2022!

In the press release, Square Enix mentions that Worldslayer will be a “full expansion” and will be revealed in spring 2022. Note that this will be a paid content drop, and there’s a teaser too!

Don’t forget, New Horizon is coming tomorrow, and will include new Expeditions, significant gameplay changes and more! Once the patch is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Outriders is out for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Go read our review here, where we state, “Square Enix and People Can Fly have managed to pull off an anomaly — as it managed to successfully craft a proper looter shooter from the ground up, where companies like EA have failed with the likes of Anthem. While Square Enix’s lofty ambitions for a multiplayer-centric game might have failed with Marvel’s Avengers, the publisher can now breathe a little easier as it has a bonafide franchise in its hands, and I for one, cannot wait to see what People Can Fly has planned for Outriders’ future.”

  • Fixed a bug that caused the “Even Odds” mod to stack 5 times, instead of the stated 3 times.
  • Changed the “Armor Boost” mod so that it now scales to the armor item it is inserted into, rather than scaling with the player level and stopping at level 30.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the “Emergency Stance” mod to not trigger if the damage instance that proc’d the mod also inflicted “Knockback” on the player.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the “Anomaly Mutation” mod to not inflict the Burn or Slow status as intended.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the “Bullet Absorption” mod to replenish 80% instead of it’s intended 40% of ammo.

  • Fixed a bug that could cause the Pyromancer’s armor mod “Phoenix Force” to not increase Anomaly Power after consuming a status condition.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Borrowed Time to stack it’s bonus infinitely if the “Armor of Eons” and “Short Term Loan” mods were combined and spammed.

Bug Fixes to Skills:

  • Fixed a bug that could cause the Tricksters “Hunt the Prey” ability to lock up under certain circumstances.
  • The Devastator’s “Impale” skill now no longer blocks Obelisks from continuing to charge while an impaled enemy is present.
  • The description for “Endless Mass” now also mentions the Slow status effect that it inflicts.
  • Fixed a bug that would prevent the Technomancer “Cold Snap” skill from freezing enemies if it was triggered while the player rolled off an edge.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause Technomancer Turrets to fall through the ground if they were thrown too low or too high.
  • Added the icon for the “Cryo Turret” skill to the Technomancer’s “Engineer” and “Senior Engineer” class nodes. These nodes were already affecting the “Cryo Turret” skill anyway.

Bug Fixes to Class Nodes:

  • Fixed a bug that resulted in the Pyromancer “Gifted” class node not granting it’s bonuses properly.

You can check out the other details for the update here.

According to Square Enix, the title update will be released on all platforms tomorrow at 9AM PST/12NN EST/12MN HKT/6PM CET/5PM GMT. Once it’s out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

GTA The Trilogy -The Definitive Edition Bugs and Glitches Showcased in Compilation Video & Screenshots

Rockstar Games’ remastered re-release of their PS2 era Grand Theft Auto games hasn’t exactly gone as planned, as GTA The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition bugs and glitches have been showcased in a compilation video (and screeenshots) showing the problems that many fans and customers who purchased the game had to go through.

Compiled and shared by YouTube user catlarious, the one-hour edition of the aptly titled Grand Theft Bugs Trilogy illustrates why the new compilation is a hot mess.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Rd2huQTNh0

Here’s a couple of examples of the horrible and unexplainable glitches this compilation has.

Since it launched last week on November 11, the GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is a clear example of another game that was released too soon and ended up disappointing a lot of fans. Speculation over the release of remastered versions of GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas began months ago when the international sites listed the game for next gen and current generation consoles. Rockstar then removed the older versions of those three GTA games from digital stores, and soon teased its release for the fall season with a bunch of trailers. Unfortunately no review copies of the game were sent out — and then when the game was released all hell broke loose as several bugs and glitches were discovered including rain effects that made the game hard to see. As a result, the PC version of the game was pulled from Rockstar’s digital store — but has since returned and is now available again to purchase.

Within Ranked Arena, players may select between Controller Solo/Duo Queue, KBM Solo/Duo Queue, and cross-input with any party size. We believe that the Solo/Duo queue options will provide a home for competitive players who want to face off against opponents with nearly the exact same team composition as them.  On the other hand, the cross-input option with no party size limit provides an opportunity for players to see how they stack up against people with different input types or full squads of similar skill.

We’ll share a deeper dive into the inner-workings of Halo Infinite’s ranking system soon. In the meantime, jump in, get your placement matches in, and start climbing that ladder!

Halo Infinite’s campaign will launch this December 8, and in case you’re wondering, won’t be free-to-play. You can watch the latest gameplay footage released for it here.

TiGames Talks FIST Forged in Shadow Torch Success, China Hero Project, DLC & More

Possibly one of the biggest surprises of the year is none other than TiGames’ FIST (Forged in Shadow Torch), which was a game that came out of nowhere, but surprsingly floored us with how ingenious it was when it came to character design and gameplay (read our review here).

MP1st managed to get some time in with TiGames to talk about the game, its success, future projects, Sony’s China Hero Project, and more. Read on for our full interview with Tao Zhang, CEO and Producer at Ti Games.

MP1st: First off, huge congratulations to the team with the release of F.I.S.T. I know it must have been quite a journey leading up to this point, and I’m glad both critics (including us) and gamers have had high praise for the title. Tell us, what’s it like over there now that F.I.S.T has been released.

Zhang: Ti Games is still such a small team so finishing and launching F.I.S.T. is undoubtedly an inspiring achievement for us. The whole team is constantly collecting feedback from media and players including comments, bug reports, improvement suggestions and further expectations since then. And, we are also working on fulfilling commitments, such as adding more languages, adding new difficulty options, and suiting for more PC hardware.

MP1st: I feel not a lot of people are putting enough focus on the China Hero Project. Perhaps that’s due to how most of the world sees the Chinese market as one flooded with copycats, and this notion has spilled over to gaming as well. What does the studio think of this, and how does this idea get pushed out of people’s minds?

Zhang: Chinese game industry has its own story which is different from the world, and the foundation of the story-driven offline game is weak. Nevertheless, it still is a growing market that players expand their need for high-quality games from all over the world. China Hero Project is a response to this kind of change, making it possible for small developers like us to bring games to global platforms like PlayStation. Our faith is to develop games that could be accepted by players all over the world and letting people realize that Chinese developers are capable of producing high-quality games through this.

MP1st: The China Hero Project has been going on for about four to five years now? How big of an impact has it been for the development of F.I.S.T.? Would you say that PlayStation and partners were pretty hands-on with the project, or was it more so, they liked what they saw and gave the team full freedom of the project?

Zhang: China Hero Project is aiming to aid developers financially and technically since 2016, and F.I.S.T. has been being a part of it since 2018. In the past three years, we work together closely with SIE Shanghai who bring the game to BitSummit, TGS and ChinaJoy to be seen. The possibility that getting technical support from partners like Unreal and CriWare, and accessing PS5 DevKit in the early stage are all attributed to that, which are rare opportunities for an indie game developer. Meanwhile, we have the complete right to design the game of our free will without any intervention from SIE.

MP1st: Let’s talk about the inspiration of F.I.S.T. specifically its art direction. It’s probably my (James Lara’s) favorite part, and what drew me in the most. I see and get a lot of Final Fantasy 7 vibe from it, but what would the team say has been the biggest inspiration for it?

Zhang: The art style of F.I.S.T. is inspired by dieselpunk aesthetics combining the East Asia cities’ landscape including Shanghai, Hong Kong and even Tokyo, and that may be the reason why it eventually has some similarities with Final Fantasy VII which has the similar concept of art. However, if you see F.I.S.T. carefully, you will notice that Torch City presents its great uniqueness for its concept that there are only animal citizens in it.

MP1st: The character designs are fantastic, and I love that they’re all based on animals. What was the reason for picking that over more human-like characters?

Zhang: From the very beginning we realized that any kind of human characters have their own race and culture backgrounds, and none of them could be as universal and acceptable for players from different culture as animal characters. We are making game not just for domestic market of China but also willing to bring it to as much players as possible. From a result, we did see that Western and Eastern players love Rayton and other animal characters equally.

MP1st: F.I.S.T. Is a departure from the team’s last title ( Ancient Amuletor) granted that was the studios’ first title. A bit of a big jump going from 3D VR to a 2.5D side scroller, what made the studio want to make a shift? Is VR still something the studio is looking to continue to venture into?

Zhang: At the beginning of our establishment, we were thinking about bringing players a completely fresh game experience. Back to that time, our team is far smaller than now and a small-scale VR game is a way to keep the development in a reasonable time and money cost. Then we had about 20 people when we made the plan for the second game, which meant making a traditional full-scale game was possible and a Metroidvania could be an appropriate genre for us. We are still looking forward to the improvement of the VR hardware and what it may bring to games in the next few years, and we are always preparing for the next VR game when time is ready.

MP1st: What would you say was the biggest challenge working on F.I.S.T.?

Zhang: The biggest challenge probably is to design a game that has its world, characters and story that could be accepted and loved by players from different culture backgrounds. Ti Games doesn’t have enough experience for that, especially on the narrative and characters designing. So we built the entire history, culture and visual foundation of Torch City and have been revising the story in the three years of development to make it universal. Looks like we did not bad from the current feedback.

FIST Update 1.03

MP1st: How has the sales of FIST been so far? Is it what the studio is hoping it would be?

Zhang: We are satisfied with the market performance of F.I.S.T. and the positive comments from players and media all over the world. F.I.S.T. has just launched on Steam in October which could attract more players to access and experience the game.

MP1st: So what’s next for the studio? A new project? A Sequel to F.I.S.T? Post-launch support? We feel there is a ton left to tell in F.I.S.T.!

Zhang: Yes. There are a lot of great ideas of game mechanism that we had to give up when building Torch City, and more story we can’t wait to share, which we are willing to present to our players by various forms. Currently, we are still working on updates of F.I.S.T. as planning, like multi-languages supporting, bug fixing, and PC features adaption. After that, we will put our energy on developing new content, and keep updating the world of Torch City.

MP1st: Outside of Ti Games, another Chinese studio has been making waves, and that’s Black Myth Wukong by Game Science. Do the China-based studios communicate among each other?

Zhang: Of course, we do. The 100 miles distance between us two studios is not very long for China. Some of our developers are years friends with the leader creators from Game Science. We both have been busy on our own projects in the past period though, we communicate on social media frequently. The producer of Black Myth got his platinum trophy after F.I.S.T.’s launch and posted a review on Chinese social media. As friends, we are also looking forward to the successfully launch of Black Myth.

MP1st: Is there anything Ti Games would want to say to the people that have played FIST, and those who haven’t yet?

Zhang: F.I.S.T. is a Metroidvania game and the first game from TiGames. We put great effort to make this charming world vivid, hoping the journey of the protagonist Rayton will bring you a unique experience. We really expect players to try it and we have the faith that it will not disappoint you.

We’d like to thank TiGames for taking the time out of their schedule to talk to MP1st. FIST Forged in Shadow Torch is out now on PS4, PS5, and PC.

Yep, that’s about it. Speaking of Prime Resurgence, the patch released last week included a ton of new stuff, which you can read about here. Not sure what Prime Resurgence is? Read on for the official description via the devs:

A Prime Resurgence is upon us…

Coming November 16 for a limited time, we are launching Prime Resurgence! This event provides Tenno with a schedule of Vaulted Prime releases. The impending War grows near day by day, Tenno. A new (yet familiar face to some?), Varzia Dax, has an opportunity to fortify your Arsenal with Prime items that have long been Vaulted.

We first announced that we are looking at running a Prime Vault event of sorts on Devstream 156 – and Prime Resurgence is just that! It is our first stab at offering an alternative to Prime Vault: A one-stop shop to gain access to Vaulted Prime content and Relics with a fully transparent schedule to allow players time to plan.

Varzia, a Dax from the Old War, will appear in Maroo’s Bazaar November 16th on all Platforms with a slew of Prime goods for you to obtain. You can either purchase Relics from her Wares with Aya (free path) or gain instant access to Prime items and bundles with Regal Aya (purchase path).

If other fixes and whatnot are found in this patch, we’ll be sure to update the post.

Blending intense action and storytelling, Vaas: Insanity will provide a unique opportunity to better understand Vaas’ past, personal demons and motivations.

We’ll be updating the post once the official patch notes have been released, so make sure to check back later today.

If you haven’t played the game yet, go read our Far Cry 6 review here, where we state, “It’s not going to win over any Far Cry naysayers, but fans of the series should thoroughly enjoy what Ubisoft have done here. It is, in my opinion, the best Far Cry title since 2012’s Far Cry 3.”

Marvel’s Avengers Klaw Raid Rewards Revealed

In case you didn’t know, this end of November will see the Klaw Raid be available for Marvel’s Avengers players. While Klaw isn’t a new enemy, players will be getting exclusive rewards for doing (and we presume completing) the raid. In this past week’s Marvel’s Avengers devstream, Crystal Dynamics has revealed the Marvel’s Avengers Klaw Raid rewards!

Marvel’s Avengers Klaw Raid Rewards:

Speaking in the latest Marvel’s Avengers devstream, Game Designer Alex Kende outlined the rewards players will get via the Klaw Raid. Kende said that there will be a Weekly Mission Chain per hero in the Klaw Raid, with the rewards currently set to be the following (standard split type of rewards):

  • 1 piece Discordant Gear from melee and range slot
  • 1 Discordant gear for the Defense and Heroic slot
  • 1 Klaw Raid-exclusive Minor Artifact that will have some of the new perks, and have access to a slightly modified minor artifact perk pool

Players will also get 1 random piece of Discordant Gear for completing the mission.

The Klaw Raid will be rolled out for free for everyone who owns a copy of the game this November 30. Alongside the Raid, PS4 and PS5 players of Marvel’s Avengers will also get the Spider-Man DLC for free (you can watch the reveal trailer featuring webhead here). Outside of the new content, expect reworks on the resources, perks and more to be part of the title update, too.

Report: COD Vanguard Launch Sales Down 40% Compared to Black Ops Cold War; Worst UK Launch in 14 Years

It looks like Call of Duty: Vanguard launch sales aren’t exactly setting the charts on fire — at least in the UK. The latest sales report from GSD data shows that physical retail sales dropped 26% compared to last year’s Black Ops Cold War. Now, if you think that declinde was compensated by digital sales, it wasn’t, as digital Vanguard launch sales were down 44% as well compared to last year’s entry.

However, even if this is the case, Vanguard is still the second highest biggest game launch in the UK this year only behind FIFA 22. Check out the full list below.

Last Week This Week Title
New Entry 1 Call of Duty: Vanguard
1 2 FIFA 22
2 3 Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
3 4 Mario Party Superstars
6 5 Grand Theft Auto 5
10 6 Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
5 7 Far Cry 6
25 8 Spider-Man: Miles Morales
9 9 Minecraft (Switch)
11 10 Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Adding more fuel to the bad news fire for Activision, VGC’s own sources have suggested that Vanguard had the lowest-performing Call of Duty launch in 14 years! Per the report, only Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare released way back in 2007 sold fewer units during opening week, though one can argue that the gaming landscape is bigger now compared to 2007, and Vanguard is available on more platforms as well.

More data from VGC states that Call of Duty titles seen as “fails” by the community such as COD: Ghosts and Infinite Warfare sold more during its launch week than Vanguard.

Mind, this is only for the UK, though it’s still a big blow when you think about it. Is this because Vanguard was released during the transition from the PS4/Xbox One era to PS5/Xbox Series X|S or are people not a fan of non-modern setting multiplayer shooter? We can’t say for certain. For thosew who bought Vanguard, is the game living up to your expectations? Let us know down in the comments below.

Rainbow Six Extraction Roadmap Revealed

Just a few days ago, Ubisoft announced that Rainbow Six Extraction will be out this January 20, and not only will it be released at a cheaper price, but it’ll come with a Buddy Pass as well. Today, Ubisoft announced the Rainbow Six Extraction roadmap, which is coming with post-launch content for free!

Check out the trailer and details below via the press release:

Risk it all in Maelstrom Protocol, a thrilling weekly challenge mode with tiered ranks, built for the most skilled Rainbow Six players. Players must navigate a series of nine subzones with increasing difficulty, tougher enemies, quickly depleting resources, and allotted time getting shorter at each stage. At each checkpoint, squads must choose to either extract to bank their points or attempt to push to the end. Earning points will secure a place for challengers in up to four classes, from Bronze to Silver to Gold, Platinum and even Diamond Class, each rewarding players with special headgear and REACT Credits.

Rainbow Six Extraction will feature a variety of other exciting challenges, including Crisis Events and Assignments. Crisis Events are limited-time, game-changing events with themed content,  introducing a new Operator to your roster or a new dangerous Protean enemy to defeat. In the first Crisis Event, Spillover, players must wipe out mass colonies of an evolved version of the Sprawl as hordes of Archæans attempt to stop them. These events will reward exclusive REACT Tech, new cosmetics, and new lore.

Assignments are weekly modes with gameplay modifiers that put players’ skills to the test. For example, Veteran Mode involves no HUD, limited ammo, and friendly fire enabled. At launch, players can tackle both Maelstrom Protocol and weekly Assignments, with Crisis Events becoming available soon after.

Stay tuned to more Rainbow Six stories here on MP1st right here.

FIST Developer TiGames: Chinese Game Industry Foundation in Story-Driven Offline Game Is “Weak”

While Chinese studio TiGames’ FIST Forged in Shadow Torch was received quite well both critically and in terms of sales, the Chinese game development scene is mostly known for mobile games rather than high-profile “core” game releases. Sony is aiming to fix this with the “China Hero Project,” which TiGames is a part of.

In an interview with MP1st, TiGames CEO Tao Zhang states that he thinks the foundation of story-driven offline games made in China is considered “weak” currently, and also comments about the China Hero Project as well.

Zhang does have a point. Having said that, aside from FIST, another China-based studio — Game Science — is working on a single-player story-driven game, Black Myth Wukong, which looks to bolster the country’s games lineup.

We’ll have our complete interview with TiGames going up very, very soon.
