Halo: MCC’s Latest Content Update Is Here, Patch Notes Focus On Matchmaking And Party Stability

Halo: The Master Chief Collection‘s latest Content Update is finally here after a long time coming.

Originally promised to be “one of the game’s biggest” updates yet, and also originally planned for a February release, the patch should be now available the next time you log in to The Master Chief Collection.

As previously outlined, it focuses heavily on matchmaking and party stability while providing a few much-needed title-specific fixes. You’ll find the official patch notes below:

Matchmaking

  • Made a variety of updates to improve matchmaking performance and success rates
  • Improved matchmaking search times/time to match
  • Improved stability throughout the matchmaking process across all titles

Parties

  • Improved party stability

Halo 2

  • Made improvements to multiplayer shot registration
  • Improved campaign stability across a variety of levels
  • Addressed stability issues for matchmaking and custom games
  • Fixed issues around resuming H2A Campaign from “remastered” mode
  • Improved medal display consistency

Halo: CE

  • Fixed issues regarding aim assist which resulted in the reticle being pushed away from an enemy
  • Improved shot registration consistency between host / client in peer-to-peer custom game matches
  • Resolved a variety of UI inconsistencies, including team color randomization, medals, and in-game scoreboard display

It might not look like a very hefty list of fixes, but the update has had to climb a few hills and jump a few hurdles to get here, so the fixes that are included are likely significant. Give it a spin and tell us in the comments if you’ve noticed any improvements!

Keep your sights on MP1st for more Halo updates.

PlayStation 4 Virtual Reality Machine Project Morpheus Pinned For Early 2016 Launch

Sony’s virtual reality machine, Project Morpheus, is coming to PlayStation 4 sometime in the first half of 2016, the company announced today.

Along with four brand new VR demos, a prototype of the device was showcased at the Game Developers Conference this year that Sony says is closer to the consumer product it plans to release next year.

It can render games at a 120 frames-per-second refresh rate, which Sony says the PlayStation 4 will also be able to support and is ideal for virtual reality. It now boasts a 5.7 inch screen, a sub-18 millisecond latency rate, and “about” a 100 degree field of view with nine tracking LEDs.

“We are one step closer to realizing our vision of making virtual reality a reality in games,” said Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment.

Valve Announces Many Things At GDC, But Not Half-Life 3

PC gamers won’t be getting Half-Life 3 any time soon, but video game company Valve did announce the next best thing — a few things, actually — at this year’s Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

For starters, the company lifted the curtain on the successor to their widely-adopted game engine, Source, which has been used as the foundation for many popular titles in the Counter-Strike, Half-Life, and Portal series. Simply called Source 2, Valve’s new next-gen engine will be free to content developers, similar to Epic’s recent Unreal Engine 4, and will launch alongside a special version of the engine that makes use of the Vulkan cross-platform, cross-vendor 3D graphics API.

“With Source 2, our focus is increasing creator productivity,” said Jay Stelly of Valve. “Given how important user generated content is becoming, Source 2 is designed not just for the professional developer, but enabling gamers themselves to participate in the creation and development of their favorite games.”

The company did not announce pricing, nor did it reveal what upcoming projects might make use of the new engine.

In addition to Valve’s new software announcement came new details on what hardware plans the company also has in store.

Later this year, a new product called Steam Link will allow PC users to stream content from any PC, including Windows, Mac, Linux and Valve’s own Steam Machines, to other devices over a local network. It will support 1080p resolution at 60Hz “with low latency,” says the company, and will boast an easy set-up with three USB ports, an HDMI out, and automatic network detection. It, along with Valve’s Steam Controller, will retail at $49.99 and will launch by this November.

steam_link.0.0

Furthermore, Steam Machines from Alienware and Falcon Northwest, along with a dozen additional partners, are also due to launch some time in November and will start “at the same price point as game consoles, [but] with higher performance,” says Valve.

Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney says, “Whether you’re running incredibly detailed scenes at 4K or running 1080p at 120 FPS for an intense shooter experience, [Valve’s Steam Machine] brings world-class gaming and graphics to televisions with an open platform true to Valve’s PC gaming roots.” Epic plans to demonstrate Unreal Tournament running on Falcon Northwest’s Steam Machine on a 4K display.

More details were also disclosed on Valve’s Virtual Reality device, Vive, manufactured by HTC and available to developers this Spring and to consumers by the end of the year. Powering it are two new technologies, a VR input system and a room scale tracking system called Lighthouse. “In order to have a high quality VR experience, you need high resolution, high speed tracking,” said said Valve’s Alan Yates. “Lighthouse gives us the ability to do this for an arbitrary number of targets at a low enough BOM cost that it can be incorporated into TVs, monitors, headsets, input devices, or mobile devices.”

VR demos at this year’s GDC include work from Bossa Studios, Cloudhead Games, Dovetail Games, Fireproof Studios, Google, Owlchemylabs, Skillman & Hackett, Steel Wool Games, Vertigo Games, and Wevr.

“We continue to see very strong growth in PC Gaming, with Steam growing 50% in the last 12 months,” said Valve President Gabe Newell. “With these announcements we hope that we are helping build on that momentum.”

Exciting times to be a PC gamer. What new technologies are you most looking forward to?

Thanks, Polygon and Kotaku

Mortal Kombat X Character Kenshi Possibly Leaked, First Images Of Jax, Johnny, and Sonya Appear

After a pretty big trailer that revealed at least five playable characters in Mortal Kombat X last week, it looks like the rest of the roster for NetherRealm Studios’ fighter is finally being revealed piece by piece before its April release.

The latest revealed fighter is none other than the telekinetic swordsman, Kenshi, whom IGN may or may have not revealed accidentally when they posted a pretty revealing image of the recently announced Mortal Kombat X: Mobile game.

Check out the image below:

Kenshi’s inclusion shouldn’t be too surprising, as Ed Boon hinted about his inclusion months back via a tweet. His son, Takeda, is set to be one of the new playable characters as well. Additionally, judging from the screenshot, it appears that we have confirmation of one of Kenshi’s variations called “Possessed”.

Update

New images of iconic Mortal Kombat characters Sonya, Johnny Cage, and Jax have also appeared, originally sourced from a now-banned Twitter account.

Mortal Kombat X is set to release on the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on April 14.

Sledgehammer Games To Introduce Purchasable “Advanced Supply Drops” In COD: Advanced Warfare

Soon, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare players will be able to directly purchase in-game armor and weapons by spending a few real life dollars on what developer Sledgehammer Games is calling “Advanced Supply Drops”.

The studio plans to roll out the update in the near future, allowing players purchase these drops from the in-game store in addition to earning normal Supply Drops through regular play. Here’s what’s guaranteed to be inside every Advanced Supply Drop purchased:

  • Three items
  • At least one weapon variant
  • At least one Professional rarity item or better
  • All items come with their own Armory slot; all items can be redeemed for XP

Also inside is the chance to score unique cosmetic gear only found within Advanced Supply Drops, including the Eco Custom Exo, items from the Arctic Gear set, and more.

Players will be able to purchase drops in bundles of three, five, and ten, with “certain bundles including bonus drops,” says Sledgehammer. Purchase quantities will be limited as the update rolls out, though that limit will be removed after a few weeks. Pricing has yet to be announced, but we expect more updates shortly.

UPDATE: Advanced Supply Drops will be sold individually, or in bundles of three, five, and ten at $1.99, $5.99, $9.99, and $19.99, respectively, according to Activision. Advanced Supply Drops will also be awarded to players at ranks 20, 30, and 40, as well as after reaching a new Prestige level.

While the introduction of micro-transactions in Advanced Warfare might sound ‘pay 2 win’ to the ears of many, Sledgehammer Games promises that “Advanced Supply Drops are optional and do not affect the balance of gameplay.” What are your thoughts?

Earlier today, Advanced Warfare was updated to introduce new Master Prestige ranks and to provide players with new ways to earn Elite Weapon Variants.

Advanced Warfare Update Adds Master Prestige Levels and Early Access To New “Ohm” Heavy Weapon

Over the course of last night, Developer Sledgehammer Games updated Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC with a new patch, introducing 15 new Master Prestige levels for veteran players to work through.

Plans for the additional progression path were revealed earlier this week as a way to allow Advanced Warfare’s Max Prestige players to reach for new goals while earning new gear and Elite weapon drops along the way. You’ll see the new emblems under the Playercard menu.

Screen Shot 2015-03-03 at 2.56.50 AM

More notably, however, is that Season Pass owners will now notice a neat little gift in their armory in the form of a new Directed-Energy Heavy Weapon called the “Ohm” and a variant called the “Ohm – Werewolf”.

Screen Shot 2015-03-03 at 3.11.17 AM

Taking the seemingly extremely versatile weapon for a spin, it appears to have the ability to take on both the role of a Light Machine Gun and a Shotgun, switching between the two at the press of a button, akin to The Ripper in Call of Duty: Ghosts. In its fully-automatic assault mode, the Ohm fires single projectiles fairly accurately, but gets wild and crazy when firing from the hip with a massive spread radius. Things get scary when switching it to shotgun mode, however, turning it into a fully-automatic beast machine that fires a volley of energy pellets.

UPDATE: We recommend checking out Drift0r’s In Depth episode on the Ohm to get a good picture of its capabilities.

[youtube id=”GCZy4GVM2mk”]

Though patch notes aren’t available as of this writing, nor has any official announcement been made, we suspect the Ohm is part of Advanced Warfare’s upcoming second multiplayer expansion, Ascendance, granted early to Xbox One and Xbox 360 Season Pass holders, as was the AE4 Assault Rifle earlier this year.

Update

Below are the official patch notes for Advanced Warfare’s latest update, now out on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. According to developer Sledgehammer Games, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 platforms are still awaiting first party approval, meaning the update is expected to roll out some time next week.

Battlefield 4’s Major “Winter Update” Arrives Today, Here Are The Patch Notes

Battlefield 4‘s Winter Update is here, looking to warm the hearts of many who still frequent DICE’s military shooter one year and five months after launch.

The major game update is now rolling out on all platforms, a roughly 1.34 GB patch on consoles and 400 MB patch on PC.

Among some of its most notable features is the introduction of the Squad Obliteration game mode, an eSports-oriented game mode that developer DICE LA hopes will offer “something fast and challenging for the players and an entertaining experience for those who watch the matches.”

Settings that differ from the original Obliteration game mode include:

  • No vehicles, no parachute spawns
  • Secondary base spawns are made available
  • First team to destroy two out of three bases wins the round
  • Bomb carrier position is only known to the enemy team if spotted

The update also introduces new Premium playlists — ‘Large Scale Battles’, ‘The Battlefield’, and ‘Close Quarters’ — through the game’s new and improved Quickmatch menu. Here are a few of the specifics:

  • New player gating: New players can now matchmake into special servers until reaching rank 10, giving them a chance to learn playing Battlefield 4 against other new players.
  • Ranked Preset support: Players now have the added option to Quickmatch into Ranked servers as an addition to the Official preset available in the past.
  • Premium Playlists: Three new playlists are added catering to various play styles and including maps from all expansions and base game combined.

Netcode improvements are also present, including:

  • Network prioritization and filtering has been improved. This now prioritizes health/damage, enemy players and vehicles above all.
  • Vehicles now use a larger (front) hemi-sphere shape for collision improvements
  • Aiming down sights, or zooming in sitting in a vehicle or on foot, utilizes an even longer range cone for better target acquisition at a distance

Lastly, the update also increases the level of user interface customization to an even greater extent while providing a bevy of map-specific fixes.

The full list of patch notes can be found below, courtesy of Battlelog and Battlefield’s Official Blog. But for those visual learners out there, DICE LA has provided a neat overview PDF that you can check out right here. Lastly, leave it to Battlefield YouTuber xFactor to provide a nice summation of the update’s most important features in his latest video, also below.

Have a look at the details and be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments!

Mortal Kombat X Is Koming to Mobile Devices, Will Feature Console and PC Unlocks

Ever wondered what it’d be like to get the Mortal Kombat experience on your mobile device? Mortal Kombat X developer NetherRealm Studios has the answer, announcing Mortal Kombat X: Mobile.

Included in the mobile fighter is some of the franchise’s staple characters, such as Raiden, Scorpion Sub-Zero and the ‘next-generation’ of fighters, as well Mortal Kombat’s defining mechanic, Fatalities. Of course, it will also include online multiplayer on your mobile device. Check out the announcement trailer above.

MKX owners on console and PC will also find benefits as the mobile version will feature exclusive unlockables for the main game. Though, exactly what will be unlocked isn’t known at this time. Considering NetherRealm Studios’ previous history with Injustice: Gods Among Us and it’s mobile game, it’s highly plausible that you will be able to unlock alternative costumes for some of the characters in the main game.

Speaking of alternative costumes, remember that action-packed story trailer for Mortal Kombat X that was revealed last Friday? Well, it looks like it may have also revealed different costumes for both Kitana and the newly revealed kombatant, Takeda.

You can see Kitana sporting one of her concept art costumes, which is interesting as during the third Kombat Kast stream they already revealed her alternative costume that you can view here. We also see Takeda wearing something similar to his Shirai Ryu garb from the comics.

Let us know in the comments, would you be interested in a Mortal Kombat X game for Mobile?

Mortal Kombat X will be available on April 14 for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. It’s mobile game will launch alongside it for Android and iOS devices.

COD: Advanced Warfare’s Grand Master Prestige Program Will Offer Players New Prestige Ranks And Unlocks

Gaining ultimate Prestige in Call of Duty just got a lot tougher.

Some time in March, says developer Sledgehammer Games, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare players who’ve attained Max Prestige will be challenged to progress through an additional set of 15 new Prestige levels, earning new gear and chances to unlock better weapons along the way.

Each new Master Prestige rank will yield not only a shiny new gold-colored emblem, but also a specific Elite variant of one of the 15 different weapons listed in the image below, including the BAL27 – Obsidian Steed, MP11 – Goliath, MORS – Silver Bullet, and more.

Upon reaching the new Grand Master Prestige rank, the new Max Prestige, players will unlock the all-new Grand Master Prestige character gear set in bad-ass black and purple — as royal as it comes.

AW_GMP_Infographic_Full_v02

At the very least, Advanced Warfare’s new Grand Master Prestige program will give max rank players a lot more to do. And who couldn’t use a shot at guaranteed Elite weapon drops? No more complaining that you still don’t have the Obsidian Steed!

As mentioned earlier, the new changes will take effect some time this month with more details from Sledgehammer Games along the way. Keep your sights on MP1st for updates.

EA is once again offering Battlefield fans the chance to go Premium with this year’s release from developer Visceral Games.

Battlefield Hardline Premium, officially revealed earlier today, is a $50 season pass that grants subscribers access to four digital expansions packs, exclusive new features, and a handful of perks throughout the course of Hardline’s life cycle.

Players can upgrade now, getting access to the following after Battlefield Hardline launches on March 17:

  • Four super features:
    • MasksNew player masks with unique gameplay benefits tied to the theme of each mask.
    • Gun BenchProvides players with the ability to visually customize their weapons and track their kills per weapon.
    • Competitive PlaySupport for competitive play through Battlefield Hardline Premium-access only tournaments and ladders.
    • Legendary StatusProvides replayability of the entire progression system.
  • Four digital expansion packs featuring new multiplayer maps, modes, vehicles, in-game content and a story themed throughout all four:
    • Battlefield Hardline: Criminal ActivityPlayers have to make a name for themselves in fast-paced, highly-destructible new maps littered with small-time crime jobs. Available summer 2015.
    • Battlefield Hardline: RobberyTake down the opposition head on and progress through key locations with major cinematic action. Available summer 2015.
    • Battlefield Hardline: GetawayThis is frantic, high-speed chases that immerse players deeper in the heist. Available fall 2015.
    • Battlefield Hardline: BetrayalThere is a rat in every operation and players will have to find out who to trust. Available winter early 2016.
  • Premium perks:
    • Two weeks early access to all expansion packs
    • 12 Gold Battlepacks
    • New personalization options including gun camos, ammo skins, and more Battlefield Hardline Premium exclusive in-game items
    • Access to double-XP, in-game missions, and more Battlefield Hardline Premium exclusive events
    • Priority position in server queues

DICE’s Battlefield 4 offered a similar Premium service back in 2013, though with one additional expansion pack. Instead, it sounds like gamers coughing up the $50 for Battlefield Hardline Premium will benefit from more features than previous Battlefield or Medal of Honor season passes were able to offer.

If you’re a fan of personalizing your soldier with detailed customization features, Battlefield Hardline’s Mask and Gun Bench options might be right up your alley. Meanwhile, Premium will give the most hardcore of hardcore Battlefield players something to do once they reach maximum rank: the option to reset their rank, attain “Legendary Status”, and progress through Hardline’s unlock system once more.

What’s your take on EA and Visceral’s Premium offering this year? Are you signing up?

Latest Mortal Kombat X Trailer Reveals Five New Characters And New Story Details

After patiently awaiting for a character reveal throughout the month of February, Mortal Kombat X fans were treated to a well-worth-the-wait story trailer filled to the brim with juicy new details earlier this morning.

Not just one, but five new characters, including the likes of Mileena and some new fighters such as Erron Black, Jacqui Briggs, Kung Jin and Takeda, were revealed in the new story-related MKX trailer, with hints of more. In addition to the five characters above, we also catch glimpses of Baraka, Johnny Cage, Rain, Sonya, Sindel, and Shinnok. But, judging by a recent tweet from Ed Boon, it looks like only the five of the above revealed characters are set to be playable. Still it’s entirely possible that characters such as Rain and Sindel will just be living tower modifiers or just story mode NPCs.

The story trailer also gives us a close look at possible alternative costumes for Mortal Kombat’s staple characters, Scorpion and Sub-Zero:

43j7PHImpbBo2l

The trailer also partially answers to Boon’s boot riddle with Kung Jin filling out the last character slot and joining the likes of Quan-Chi and Kitana as the first and fourth set of boots. It also brings up some interesting questions like why characters such as Liu Kang, who was spotted in the NEXT trailer that went over the Faction War feature, wasn’t included in the latest trailer.

Earlier, NetherRealm Studios revealed for the very first time the Brutalities of Mortal Kombat X in a montage that you can watch here.

Mortal Kombat X is set to be released on April 14 for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms.

Report – The Division Testers Disclose New Gameplay Details: 100-Player Dark Zones, PvP, and More

YouTube channel Open World Games claims to have spoken with Closed Alpha testers who have played early builds of Ubisoft’s highly anticipated open-world online shooter, The Division, and who have disclosed specific gameplay details on their experiences so far.

They describe the way players enter and leave Dark Zones, which are public combative spaces in The Division, both co-operative and competitive in nature, that are filled with potentially friendly and hostile players. Allegedly, players must proceed through decontamination chambers while entering, and likely leaving, Dark Zones. Special gear or weapons that can be found in these zones must also go through a decontamination process in order to earn a permanent place in your inventory. Players’ backpacks are said to be divided into two compartments: normal items and contaminated items with higher or better stat values.

Interestingly, if these details ring true, Dark Zones can host up to or around 100 players. Other than your co-operative fire team, players aren’t entirely highlighted and are generally harder to find, but as they score kills and build what’s described as a reputation meter, they become more and more visible on the mini-map. You’ll allegedly run into other fire teams that you can also choose to co-operate with. Testers described scenarios with players hiding on roof tops or scaling up and down buildings with grappling hooks.

In the co-operative open world space, enemy AI is allegedly notoriously effective at working as a team against you. Testers described combat experiences where heavily armored enemies would throw flash bangs at the players while commanding two shielded enemies to flank around. Meanwhile, snipers would engage from a distance. AI is supposed to display a wide range of attacks and challenges, even in a single scenario.

Weapon customization may return in the same form it took in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier, including a large number of customizable weapon parts. Weapon upgrades and soldier gear can be crafted with materials that vary in rarity with some of the more rare items in the game boasting a distinctive and recognizable appearance.

In terms of performance, testers are pleased with The Division’s controls and stable online experience thus far, saying that they are confident it will make its 2015 release date, which was once again confirmed in Massive Entertainment’s debut developer podcast yesterday.

Of course, all of the above, aside from the release time frame, is unconfirmed and should be considered speculation. Ubisoft and Massive have kept rather quiet about their MMO shooter as of late, but we do expect to hear and see more next month during GDC.

For now, you can check out Open World Games’ full video right here where he recaps what he’s learned from Closed Alpha testers. You can also catch the latest official gameplay footage of The Division right here.

Keep your sights locked right here for more updates on The Division.

Check Out This Sick Montage of Mortal Kombat X Brutalities, Johnny Cage Hinted To Be Revealed Tomorrow

After teasing Mortal Kombat fans with the promise of a first look at Brutalities during their previous Kombat Kast stream, NetherRealm Studios has finally delivered.

From Kombat Kast 4 which concluded earlier today, you can check out a short montage above of some of the Brutalities being performed on the revealed Mortal Kombat X characters so far. If you’d like, you can also re-watch the entirety of their stream here if that short montage left you wanting more.

As you can tell from the short clips, Brutalities have been completely overhauled since their Mortal Kombat 3 days. Instead of just one Brutality for every character, like in the past Mortal Kombat titles, NetherRealm says Mortal Kombat X will feature over one hundred Brutalities which can be performed depending on whether or not you meet the requirements for them or what variation you picked.

Additionally, co-creator for the Mortal Kombat franchise, Ed Boon, hints that a new character reveal will happen very soon. Judging from his tweets, it sure sounds like we’ll get to see the reveal of Johnny Cage tomorrow.

How’d you like the new Brutalities? Are you hoping for a Johnny Cage reveal tomorrow?

Mortal Kombat X will be released on April 14 for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms.

Destiny’s Inferno PvP Playlist Is Inbound, Latest Companion App Update Lets You Manage Vault Space

On March 3, Destiny developer Bungie is introducing a new PvP playlist to the Crucible that the studio says is “more about basic gunplay and achieving more with less.”

In the latest Bungie Weekly Update, Senior Designer Leif Johansen explained that the new Inferno playlist, previously rumored, will “give you the opportunity to flex new gameplay muscles you didn’t know you had.” Well then. What’s so different about it? Here’s Leif’s rundown:

“We’re removing the Tracker that warns you of nearby opponents. We’re hoping this change will provoke players to rely even more on certain skills like map knowledge, teamwork, good positioning, successfully flanking opponents, using jumps to set up ambushes, catching audio cues like footsteps, and using friendly nameplate UI as clues toward enemy position. Lack of Tracker should also indirectly reduce the effectiveness of Supers and Heavies, and make the mode more about basic gunplay.”

Here’s a look at Inferno’s settings:

No Tracker

  • Players have no “radar” in the top left corner of their HUD
  • Super Good Advice: Please, please check your corners, Guardians

Simplified Scoring

  • We’ve removed as many scoring events as possible
  • The mode is much more about getting kills and playing the core objective

Fast Objective Capture

  • Without the Tracker, players are much more vulnerable when interacting with objectives because it gives away their position
  • Speeding up capture time keeps the risk/reward for trying to capture an objective more fair

Less Heavy Ammo

  • There’s only one set of Heavy crates per match and dead players don’t drop purple bricks
  • With no Tracker, it’s much easier to flank an aggressive opponent that’s pushing for kills because they have Heavy
  • Expect players to play more conservatively with Heavy ammo to try and get more bang for buck out of it

Maps

  • The Anomaly
  • Firebase Delphi
  • Twilight Gap
  • Rusted Lands
  • Shores of Time
  • Blind Watch
  • Asylum
  • The Burning Shrine
  • The Cauldron
  • Pantheon

Also a key point in Bungie’s latest update was the improvements made to Destiny’s Companion App and website that will now allow Guardians to better manage their Vault space.

Now, players can swap weapons and gear in and out of their Vault at the palm of one’s hand. Any changes made will update in real time in game, so you can make arsenal adjustments in the middle of a Strike.

Here’s Engineering Lead Chris Gossett’s tutorial on how it works:

“On www.bungie.net, Android phone, or iOS device, go to an item in your inventory and bring up the item detail screen. There are two options available (Equip and Move to Vault). Remember, Equip from Companion works only when you’re not playing Destiny in a combat space. With Vault transfer, there is no such restriction. You can interact with your vault whenever or wherever – even in combat.

“Hit Move to Vault to transfer an item to your vault. Conversely, when viewing an item in your Vault there’s a button that says Take from Vault. Doing so will move the item to the character currently in focus on the app. If you’re transferring an item that has a quantity (like materials) you’ll get a prompt that asks ‘How many?’ If you just need a couple, there’s no need to take the whole stack. Just get what you need.”

More Vault space would still be nice, but for now, this update is a very welcomed addition.

Battlefield Hardline Devs Make “Stability” a Key Focus of Development, Assures a Smooth Launch

We’ve heard it before; Battlefield Hardline developer Visceral Games promising a stable launch for their cops and criminals shooter in leu of previous disappointments with Battlefield 4 and its publicly ridiculed release in 2013.

Looking forward, the studio is still anxious to deliver a launch Battlefield fans can be proud of.

“Stability has been one of the largest areas we’re focusing our attention at Visceral while developing Hardline. I think we can all agree that Battlefield 4’s stability at launch was less than stellar,” Gameplay Systems Producer Mike Glosecki wrote in a recent Battlefield Hardline blog update.

As you might remember, Battlefield 4’s performance issues were so severe, it even lead DICE and EA into legal investigations conducted by the companies’ investors. Although cleared, it forced all parties involved in the game’s development to engage in “some very tough discussions about what [they] are doing.” So, how does Visceral plan to ensure a smooth launch this March 17 and avoid the same mistakes made in the past?

“In order to address stability for our game at launch, we’ve had the game up and running in the multiplayer environment for the last two years with both the development and quality assurance teams playing in daily matches,” Glosecki explained.

“We’ve run two betas for the game as well, one at E3 and the pre-launch beta which just completed on Feb 9th. Both of these have not only helped us solidify the stability of our servers, but have also provided great feedback for us to address in the game. As a side note, we are also making changes to Battlelog to include a new pop-up on how to activate the plugin in your browser since this was an issue for some of our players.”

Glosecki also reassured fans that the valuable feedback gained from Battlefield 4’s Community Test Environment has made its continuation in Battlefield Hardline a high priority. “This will allow us to gain valuable feedback from our players before changes migrate out to the world” he said. “Look for more details on the CTE in the coming months.”

Battlefield Hardline launches — hopefully smoothly — on March 17, but EA Access users on Xbox One can get in five days early on March 12. Pre-loading was also recently made available on Xbox One.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Havoc DLC Launches on PSN, PC Release Moves To March 3

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare‘s Havoc DLC, the first multiplayer expansion to hit Sledgehammer Games’ new shooter, has landed on PlayStation Network one month of exclusive access on Xbox Live.

Havoc starts off Advanced Warfare’s DLC season on a high note with four completely new multiplayer maps, a new multiplayer weapons, and a new co-operative mode many Zombies fans have been waiting for. You can find it now for $14.99 USD on the PlayStation store for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 or simply download it through the in-game store if you already happen to be a Season Pass owner.

Unfortunately, developer Sledgehammer Games has run into a few complications with the content’s launch on PC, forcing the studio to delay its launch. Here’s the official statement from Facebook:

“We have encountered an unexpected issue with the PC release for Call of Duty: ‪#‎AdvancedWarfare‬’s first DLC content pack, “Havoc,” and we’re holding its release until March 3rd. We don’t take this decision lightly, but rest assured that our team is working with Activision to get this content to the PC community as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we’re turning on ‪#‎DoubleXP‬ for all PC players to enjoy.”

UPDATE 1: In addition to Double XP, Sledgehammer Games is also throwing in this KVA Paramilitary Exo with a camo pattern that matches the AE-4 Widomaker free of charge as a token of appreciation. PC gamers will get it via a Supply Drop on March 3 alongside the launch of the Havoc DLC.

Drift

AW_Havoc_Drift

Make your way to the highly contested over watch in the glass observation deck or take a ride on the carousel to deliver 360 degrees of carnage. Players can use the map-altering timed event to their advantage as an avalanche of snow and debris disorients players, intensifying the battle.”

Exo Zombies

The actors provide their voice over and likeness in a dark and cinematic experience new to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.”

“Players enter a world where a DNA bioweapon unexpectedly spawns a bloodthirsty, ravenous mutant horde infecting an entire secret Atlas research facility and sending personnel running for their lives. Following a failed evacuation, four survivors, un-trained and underprepared, must face the most vicious mutations ever unleashed. The Exo Zombies co-op mode ushers in a new breed of Zombies and a truly unique experience, coming first to the Havoc DLC Pack.”
