“In celebration of our one year anniversary, all Titanfall map packs are now available for free on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC,” wrote studio CEO Vince Zampella in a letter to fans. “You just have to head to the online store on Origin or Xbox and download the Season Pass.”

Check Out The First In-Game Footage Of Cliff Bleszinski’s New Arena Shooter, Project Bluestreak

Shown first to audiences during Boss Key Productions’ panel at PAX East, the studio, founded by video game developer Cliff Bleszinski, has unveiled the first pre-alpha footage of its debut title, Project BlueStreak.

Last we heard from Bleszinski, Project BlueStreak is a free-to-play arena PC shooter currently in development at his new studio, Boss Key Productions, which will be published by Nexon.

The just-released footage, which you can view above, showcases scenes from an unnamed multiplayer map from the game. It might not be as action-packed as you had hoped, but it stays true to the shooter’s actual in-game visuals powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 4.

“For context this is a teaser for Unreal Engine 4 showing an early environment & is taken 100% in-game using the built in camera controls,” Boss Key wrote on its Twitter account.

The map’s theme, and perhaps the game’s as well, is clearly inspired by the Orient. The camera pans through a technologically advanced control room, then towards a shot of what we assume is the style of armor that will be worn by combatants in the game. It harkens to the uniforms worn by practitioners of the traditional Japanese sword art, Kendo. Before panning out to reveal more of the map’s play space, the camera travels through an armory stacked with out-of-this-world weaponry.

Check out the footage for yourself and tell us in the comments what you think of the game’s current direction. Keep your sights on MP1st for more on Project BlueStreak.

Reload Studios To Unveil Its First Project At VRLA Expo Later This Month

Reload Studios will announce their first video game title at the VRLA Spring Expo in Los Angeles on March 22, the company announced today.

Last we heard from the company, it was was in the planning stages of a first-person shooter game for virtual reality devices, next-gen consoles, and mobile devices.

The studio itself was founded in the middle of July of last year by James Chung with its sights set on projects that focus heavily on virtual reality gaming. Co-Founder Taehoon Oh is best known for his involvement in over six Call of Duty games during his time at Infinity Ward while a dozen others within the studio share a similar background. A quick look through the company’s “about” page would get any Call of Duty fan’s imagination roaring with thoughts of the possibility of a similar style shooter built for virtual reality.

Currently, not much is known about the studio’s unannounced project, other than the developer’s interest in Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4 and its virtual reality applications.

Excitement for virtual reality gaming has grown increasingly in the past few weeks following a series of related announcements at this year’s Game Developers Conference, including more news of Sony’s Morpheus VR headset and the unveiling Valves own VR technology.

Anxious to find out what Reload Studios has in store? Keep your sights on MP1st for news and announcements.

Xbox One’s March Update With Screenshots And Suggested Friends Is Rolling Out Now

The March Update for Microsoft’s Xbox One is now rolling out to all users, according to news from the company.

The anticipated update finally adds the Screenshot function to the console, allowing gamers to capture images, either at the press of a button or via voice commands, save them to Upload Studio, and share them to One Drive, Twitter, and more.

Users will also find new social improvements, including the ability to find suggested friends and share your real name with everyone on Xbox Live. Party chat enhancements make it easier to see if you’re speaking through a microphone or through the Kinect Sensor and users can now also adjust the transparency of tiles.

There’s more too, which you can read in the full patch notes below, courtesy of Xbox Wire.

Xbox One March Update

Screenshots

New this month is a highly requested feature by our community from the Xbox feedback site. While playing a game, you can now take screenshots on your Xbox One console by simply double-tapping the Xbox button on your controller to capture a screenshot and pressing Y to save the screenshot. You can also say “Xbox, take a screenshot” to take and save a screenshot.

The Upload app has been updated so that you can manage your screenshots in addition to your game clips. To set a screenshot as your background, go to Upload, open the screenshot full screen, press the Menu button, and select Set as background. You can also use Upload to share screenshots to your activity feed, attach them to messages, add screenshots to your showcase, share to Twitter, and post to OneDrive. Additionally, your game clips and screenshots will be shown in a new area on your profile.

Suggested friends

Everyone can use new friends! Suggested friends will include people you might know—so you can add more friends to game with—and top community broadcasters and clip creators—so you can get more great content in your activity feed. To find new friends, go to Friends and look for people under the Suggested friends heading or select the Suggested friends button. Or, if you don’t have a ton of friends yet, just check the Friends area of Home.

Sharing your name

We’re rolling out two new ways to share your real name: with all of your friends, or to everyone in the Xbox Live community. You can also continue to share your real name with select friends or no one, if that’s what you prefer. Gamertags are still the primary method of identifying yourself on Xbox Live, but sharing your real name helps people recognize you who might not know you by your gamertag. The new name sharing options can be found under Friends > My profile > Name sharing settings.

Party chat enhancements

We added two new icons to party chat to show each participant their own microphone status. The Kinect icon means the Kinect is being used as the mic and the headset icon means the headset mic is being used.

Tile transparency

As a result of your feedback, we’re adding a setting to vary the level of transparency for your background images. To do this, go to Settings > My Xbox > Tile transparency.

Voice search privacy

We added a new setting to share voice search data to allow anonymous collection and analysis of voice data when using Bing on Xbox to search. Go to Settings > Privacy and online safety > Custom > Share voice search data to change the setting.

Report spam

The Messages app has an added option to notify Xbox when you receive spam. To report a message as spam, select it, press A on the controller, select Report, and then choose Spam.

Live TV & OneGuide in Australia

Support for OneGuide is now available to all users in Australia for free-to-air TV listings. Additionally, the OneGuide app will be pre-pinned for users in Australia a few days after the March system update goes live.

Xbox One Digital TV Tuner in Australia

Xbox One owners in Australia can pre-purchase the Xbox Digital TV Tuner at the online Microsoft Store, Availability of the tuner is planned for March 25, 2015.

$349 Halo: The Master Chief Collection Xbox One Bundle Arrives This Month

Following Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s most recent stability patch, it appears Microsoft is now confident enough to bundle the legendary but troubled collection of Halo titles along with the Xbox One console, priced at a cool $349.

The bundle will be offered “in most regions where Xbox One is available” with a Kinect-less 500GB Xbox One console and a digital download code for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Within, you’ll find the entirety of Master Chief’s epic saga, including Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4, all upgraded to run at 1080p and 60 frames per second. You’ll also gain access to neat extras like Ridley Scott’s digital live-action series, Halo: Nightfall.

Originally met with poor player feedback after a troubled launch due to a dysfunctional multiplayer, Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s most recent update has done wonders for the game’s online multiplayer matchmaking and party stability, elevating it to a much more playable and enjoyable state. There’s still some work to be done, but the opportunity to own all four Halo titles, technically for free, along with the purchase of an Xbox One console is pretty hard to pass up if you were already looking to get your hands Microsoft’s latest.

Check your local retailer or at your favorite online retailer, like the Microsoft Store, for availability. UPDATE: As a bonus, GameStop is currently offering a free three-month Xbox Live Gold membership with the purchase of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection Xbox One bundle.

Stay tuned right here for the latest updates on Halo: The Master Chief Collection and the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians.

Battlefield Hardline Dev Confirms Image Resolution On Consoles

Battlefield Hardline developer Visceral Games has confirmed the latest reports that the cops vs. criminals shooter will indeed run at similar image resolutions on Sony and Microsoft’s latest consoles to what Battlefield 4 currently runs.

For those that might not know, that’s 900p on PlayStation 4 and 720p on Xbox One.

News of the shooter’s image quality on consoles surfaced early last month, so this tweet from the studio, spotted by Gamestop, acts as a confirmation of what many of you may have already read.

It goes without saying that Hardline will run at a 60 frames-per-second refresh rate on both consoles. Still, while we were quite happy with last month’s beta that took place on all platforms, it’s too bad Visceral wasn’t quite able to squeeze those extra pixels out of either of Sony or Microsoft’s machines before Hardline went gold last month.

For those PC players out there who aren’t bothered by such concerns, here’s what sort of set up you’ll need to run Hardline at minimum and maximum settings.

Battlefield Hardline launches on all platforms this March 17, or March 12 if you happen to be an Xbox One owner with a subscription to EA Access. The first details on Battlefield Hardline Premium were announced earlier this month.

At Least One More Map Remake In Store For COD: Advanced Warfare, Says Studio Head

Still room in your heart for classic Call of Duty multiplayer maps that have come and gone over the years? It seems Sledgehammer Games’ Studio Head Michael Condrey has fans looking for a little bit of nostalgia covered.

On Twitter, Condrey confirmed that at least one more classic Call of Duty map will be reimagined in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

On Advanced Warfare’s launch, Atlas Gorge, a modern reimagining of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare map Pipeline, was offered to buyers of the game’s Special Editions or Season Pass. It now sits in the in-game store as a standalone download and is currently playable in public matchmaking.

Earlier, in an interview with VG247, Condrey explained that the studio is “taking a look at some opportunities to really highlight the vertical gameplay mechanics in some reimagined franchise favorites moving forward, like we did with Atlas Gorge.”

At the moment, it’s not clear if any future reimagined maps would be included as a part of Advanced Warfare’s DLC packs, as has been the case for previous Call of Duty titles, or if it might be offered as a standalone addition. Advanced Warfare’s first digital add-on, the Havoc Map Pack, was comprised of totally original maps.

Details on Advanced Warfare’s second map pack are expected following the conclusion of the Call of Duty Championship 2015 later this March.

What’s your take on reimagined maps in current Call of Duty titles? If you’re for it, what map are you itching to see be remade in Advanced Warfare?

Thanks, CharlieIntel

PAX East 2015 – Blizzard Introduces Two New Overwatch Characters, McCree & Zarya

Overwatch developer Blizzard is introducing two new characters to the fold, increasing the already colorful roster of combatants in the studio’s upcoming ‘pick-up-and-play’ PC shooter.

McCree, heavily inspired by actor Clint Eastwood and his role in iconic Western films, is deadly in the hands of any sharpshooter. With his futuristic, high-powered magnum, his abilities favor accuracy and agility with equipment that allows him to quickly stun enemies for a brief period.

Meanwhile, don’t let Zarya’s brutish tank-like figure deceive you. She can be a friendly and valuable asset to her team with the ability to shield teammates and stun large groups of enemies.

YouTube personality LevelCapGaming offers a good look at both new characters in his latest video, including an overview of each characters’ abilities. Viewers also get a glimpse of the new map, Watchpoint Gibraltar. Have a look:

Gabe Newell On Valve’s VR Technology: “Zero Percent Of People Get Motion Sick”

One of the biggest fears surrounding the upcoming movement of Virtual Reality gaming with a headset is that many have, much like in the past, induced a severe amount of motion sickness. John Carmack stated during GDC this week that if a bad product came out, it could indeed send us back to the 90’s when VR headsets and other peripherals were done so poorly, it turned the whole industry away from them. However, Valve Corporation Co-Founder Gabe Newell has come out and claimed that their new VR technology has eliminated all of of the fear of motion sickness.

Known as Lighthouse, this new VR technology uses lasers that can read the position of a VR helmet and produce accurate real-time movements of the user. Newell stated that when the technology was tested and tried out by many partners, particularly Valve’s system, “zero percent of people get motion sick”. Valve has stated that they will distribute the technology freely with hardware partners so that they can implement it into their system.

HTC recently revealed Vive, a new VR headset to join the list of many, which is built in collaboration with Valve. Many tech demos were demonstrated and tested out by attendees of this year GDC, which included a demo of the highly popular Portal franchise. So far nothing but praise has been given to the device, indicating that the technology does indeed work.

What are your thoughts on VR and gaming? Will it make a proper come back?

New Destiny Update Inbound Before House Of Wolves Launch

With Destiny Update 1.1.1’s launch not so far behind us, the one that finally fixed the heavy ammo bug and rebalanced a ton of weapons, developer Bungie is already hard at work getting the shared-world shooter’s next patch prepped for launch.

“We’re still weeks away,” Destiny Community Manager David “DeeJ” Dague wrote in the studio’s latest Weekly Update. “But, before the House of Wolves begins its own descent through the stratosphere with precious cargo in tow, you can expect another Destiny Update to come in for a landing.”

DeeJ wasn’t yet able to share any details on what sort of changes Destiny Update 1.1.2 might introduce, but, “just like the last update,” he said, “we plan on unpacking the next one in detail before you download any of it to your drive.”

Expect news in the following weeks. For now, Destiny Expansion II: House of Wolves is set for launch sometime in the second quarter of 2015. Here’s a peak at a few of the things what we think might be in it.

What sort of tweaks, fixes, and changes would you like to see make it into Update 1.1.2?

GTA Online – New Modes And Content Launching Next Week, Heist Teaser Released

The long awaited release of Grand Theft Auto V‘s Online Heists is nearly here as Rockstar Games prepares for the launch of it next Tuesday.

Along with this much awaited update, the GTA community can also expect a large amount of new content which includes brand-new game modes and daily free mode activities.

As detailed on the official Rockstar Games Newswire website, “These brand new player vs. player modes bring a range of intense new competitive challenges to GTA Online. Adversary Modes will unlock as players progress through Heists.”

Here’s what’s in store:

NEW ADVERSARY MODES

Come Out To Play

A team of three Runners just trying to make it home, and a team of Hunters are out for blood. Runners are well-armed but limited to movement by foot, while the opposition wield free-aim shotguns and ride motorbikes or ATVs. Hunters must stay on their bikes and have access to unlimited lives, while the Runners have just one life but all their weapons available to pick off the Hunters at will.

Siege Mentality

Up to four players stand their ground, outnumbered but not outgunned as they fight to survive against up to 6 determined attackers in a location defense mode, GTA style. Attackers have unlimited lives but fight only with sawn-off shotguns. Defenders have full use of all their weapons.

Hasta La Vista

The chase is on as Truckers in big rig cabs hunt down a team of Cyclists. The Cyclists’ goal is simple: reach the final checkpoint without getting crushed under the wheels of the pursuing trucks. Without traditional weapons the Truckers must rely solely on their vehicles to crush the Cyclists. Meanwhile, the Cyclists must harness the maneuverability and acceleration of their bikes to evade the trucks, while keeping an eye over their shoulder. If one of the Cyclists reaches the checkpoint, the Cyclists win. If all Cyclists are terminated, the Truckers prevail.

Daily Objectives

The Los Santos daily hustle just got a little more lucrative. Whether you tend towards Jobs or free-form activities, Daily Objectives will give you a rotating series of challenges to take on for GTA$ rewards. With three new objectives per day, players can stack up challenges over consecutive days to earn bonuses of up to $500,000.

New Freemode Activities

You and your fellow players also have new opportunities for cash and RP rewards with new activities added to the world in Freemode. Be on the lookout for calls from Lester, who may need help to distract the cops in a specific area while Lester’s accomplices finish their criminal business. Lamar may call looking for help destroying a vehicle or two, while Trevor and Ron need occasional help picking their business rival’s planes out of the sky. Along with GTA$ and RP bonuses, there are all-new Awards available for completing these challenges with style.

There’s also a new in-game Email notification system that will allow you to contact and message any of your GTA Online friends, no matter what session they’re in – as well as a host of new Awards that yield new items including exclusive t-shirts and car modifications.

All of the content listed here will be available on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on March 10th, where it’ll also be included in the day one patch of the PC version on April 14.

Watch Metal Gear Online In Action, Now With Developer Commentary

Building off the debut of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s competitive online multiplayer at last year’s The Game Awards, developer Kojima Productions LA recaps the previously seen footage, but now with developer commentary and new insight.

Metal Gear Online Community Manager Robert Peeler walks viewers through the footage step by step, highlighting what sort of experience Metal Gear fans can expect later this year.
