While we already know that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is kicking off its beta this October, we now know the Modern Warfare 3 beta file size as well, at least for the PS5 version.
Revealed by reliable data scraper PlayStation Game Size, the MW3 beta file size for the PS5 is at 24GB. There are two packs for the beta, with one acting as the license checker.
Modern Warfare 3 Beta File Size for PS5:
Modern Warfare III – Beta Pack 01
Download Size (PS5) : 24.813 GB
Modern Warfare III – Beta Pack 02
Download Size (PS5) : 1 MB (license checker)
At least now PS5 players will know how much space they need to clear in their harddrives.
In related news, Modern Warfare 2 will also be getting an update soon (probably this coming week), and while we don’t know what it’s for exactly, it seems it will change the base game client’s name from Modern Warfare 2, to just being “Call of Duty.”
Odds are, this patch will house gameplay adjustments, bug fixes and the like, but this re-naming suggests that something more is part of the patch, and is most likely related to Warzone.
Stay tuned to Modern Warfare 3 beta details to make its way out this coming week. Once we know more about that, and the patch, we’ll let our readers know.
Video Games have always strived to provide a realistic and cutting-edge experience to gamers since the first home consoles hit the market. The constant push to become the premier title in your genre and provide an experience with the absolute best in visuals, mechanics, and gameplay is a competition we still see being fiercely fought today. That continuous competition over the past 30 years has meant that the boundaries of graphics and realism in gaming has been growing exponentially. With the recent release of NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat 1 depicting dismemberment, gore, and death in the most realistic ways possible, a question begins to form of whether the realism in games needs to be an ever increasing quality.
I want to preface this by saying that I do not subscribe to the idea that video games cause violence, nor is this a knock against video games where the main draws are the realistic violence within them. In fact, I think games like Doom Eternal, Grand Theft Auto, and Mortal Kombat 1 where over-the-top violence is the main draw hold an incredibly important place in the market that are all extremely popular for good reason. While I believe these experiences should be celebrated, looking into the future to see how these types of games are going to grow in realism to affect the people playing them, is a topic worth examination.
The arguments of realism in video games was an easier discussion to have when graphics weren’t so close to what we see in real life. Going from single pixel blood pools to thousands of polygons being dedicated to animate a single body part means we are closer than ever to games emulating real life. Do we need to see someone’s head explode just as it would in the real world in The Last of Us series? Do the blood, guts, and mutilation from Mortal Kombat fatalities become more painful than pleasurable to watch because the depictions are so detailed?
It is easy to come to an objective assessment of realism when looking at games today. This is simply because it can be easily recognized that what is being presented to you is separate from reality. As time goes on, and the technologies get better, the line of fact and fiction will become increasingly blurred. Recently, a game called “Unrecord” by indie developer DRAMA, was called out for being fake because its appearance was indiscernible from real life. Merging gameplay and graphics of these levels are going to prove to be a difficult obstacle for developers to overcome. Providing a realistic experience that is competitive with similar products on the market, while at the same time maintaining a separation of reality and appealing to a wide audience is going to be challenging to say the least.
Once again, take the example of Unrecord. On its own it isn’t a call for concern. However, combining graphics and realism of that caliber with levels like the notorious “No Russian” from Activision’s, Modern Warfare 2 (2009), a myriad of issues become readily apparent. Even a game like Grand Theft Auto, could potentially be a lot harder to stomach when the people you are firing at are animated with such a high level of fidelity. This can be tossed to the other side of the coin as well when considering what these developers of these highly realistic games have to go through to make these games. Does anatomically correctly animating gore and mutilation negatively impact the people that are hand-crafting these experience for us? It has in fact already been reported on, that the work and research that goes into creating these games can be quite strenuous.
Virtual Reality makes this topic even more difficult to quantify because it adds a further level of immersion and realism to the violence we see on screen. Feeling physically present in an incredibly realistic, yet graphic gameplay sequence means that there is a strong case that many aspects of the realism we put into games may need to get held back as time goes on. Virtual reality is still very much at a stage of infancy. Although, given enough time, the experiences it offers could be on par with what most current-gen consoles are offering, just at a higher level of immersion.
Lastly, I think it is important to view this topic from a completely different perspective. Young gamers and video game realism. While everyone has their own experiences, chances are you have played a game where the recommended rating was higher than your age at some point. Depending on the game and age this can be a non-issue completely. However, that is not the case for everyone.
With games delivering exponentially more detailed realism and death does it call for more restrictions on what young gamers can play? Or even a changing to the rating system of games itself? This can be a difficult topic to understand if you do not have kids of your own. It can be easy to dismiss the issue and fully put the blame on the parent if a child is playing something out of their recommended age rating. The reality is though, that kids are going to play and see things they are not supposed to. The jump from Epic’s Fortnite to Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise is going to be a major shock to someone young seeing anything depicted so realistically for the first time. As games continue to refine their realism do we need to re-examine how we categorize and prevent young gamers from being able to access them?
Ultimately, video games are rooted in violent and over-the-top depictions. Their popularity exploded due to those very concepts with games like the original Doom (1993) and Mortal Kombat (1992). This should not go away anytime soon. Games are built around experiencing things we would not otherwise be able to do with the freedom of consequence and liability. Games are also ever evolving though. Realism may reach a point where it becomes a necessity to maintain a noticeable distinction from games to life, rather than attempting to provide the highest degree of realism possible in a game.

This was confirmed by Starbreeze’s Global Brand Director Almir Listo and Lead Producer Andreas Penninger in the latest Twitch dev stream for the game.
In it, the devs confirmed that they are not working on a Battle Pass. In addition to that, the duo also confirmed that the studio is working on new heists, though there is no timetable when these will become available.
That’s not the only info revealed by the devs during these Twitch streams, which were conducted multiple times last week. Some of the other info revealed include details on the patch incoming for October 5, how there are no plans to change the progression system for now and more.
The devs also mentioned that the next Twitch stream will happen on Tuesday, and there will also be one where the devs will go over the patch notes for the October 5 update. Once that’s live, expect us to post it ASAP.
Studio Wildcard has released Ark Survival Evolved update 2.98 on all platforms today. Read on for the official Ark Survival Evolved September 30 patch notes down below.
That’s it for the patch notes today. We will update you in the future if the game comes out with any more patches. Ark 2 will be released in 2024 so support for the first game will be ending soon.

A remake for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) has been in the works for some time now and most of the things we’ve heard about the game’s development have been less than ideal (including an indefinite delay). Now, the KOTOR Remake trailer and related tweets have been quietly pulled from the internet by Sony themselves.
Twitter user @Crusader3456 took it upon themselves to launch an investigation into why evidence of the game’s announcement is slowly disappearing:
Playstation has officially hidden the 2021 reveal trailer for Star War: Knights of the Old Republic on YouTube. You can see the Trailer is clearly in the full 2021 Showcase Playstation Showcase but the individual Trailer has been hidden.https://t.co/2WPn4ib2C8
In their thread, they noticed that tweets regarding the game’s trailer have also since been deleted. The PlayStation Blog post about the game is still up, but the trailer is no longer accessible via that page either.
Stephen Totilo, a game journalist for Axios, was able to reach out to Sony and received this response from them regarding the trailer’s removal:
Asked Disney what was up and they sent me to Sony.
Asked Sony what was up and they said: "As part of normal business, we delist assets with licensed music when the licenses expire."
Of course, now I'm asking why the music license would expire for an upcoming game https://t.co/m9xjQQpWSc
It’s unclear how licensed Star Wars music might expire when its specifically being used for a Star Wars game. We’re no licensing experts here, but it doesn’t add up. Especially when the trailer still remains music intact in the 2021 PlayStation Showcase, where the trailer was first revealed. Presumably, the music would’ve had to have been cut out of that video too if it was a licensing issue.
Given that the game’s current developer Saber Interactive is owned by Embracer Group, and Embracer’s been cutting down studios and projects left and right following a failed deal, it’s quite likely that this game could be cancelled in the coming months. Embracer recently made cuts to Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics and shut down Volition. Hopefully, Saber Interactive isn’t next on the chopping block, but it’s anyone’s guess as to what might be coming down the pipeline for them.
Are you still looking forward to the KOTOR remake? Do you think it’ll end up coming out? Let us know down in the comments. Otherwise, we’ll keep you posted on this story as we learn more.
Minecraft’s mob-slaying Diablo-esque spinoff has just hit 25 million unique players, and with it, we’ve received some bittersweet news. Minecraft Dungeons support is officially ending according to a recent blog post on the official Minecraft website.
The news comes as part of an expression of gratitude from Mojang for all the love and support the game has received over the years. The team had this to say:
Time flies when you’re having fun. Before you know it, your game is all grown up and walking around on their own little legs. Today, on the day of Minecraft Dungeons announcement five years ago, we’re proud to share that our little game has hit a milestone and passed 25 million unique players!
Minecraft Dungeons began as a passion project, inspired by our love of classic dungeon crawler games and reimagined as a completely new Minecraft experience. But it was the love of our players that made it grow and thrive, allowing us to continue the adventure and venture further into the Nether, the End, and eventually the mysterious Tower. It exceeded our wildest dreams, and it makes us both proud and grateful for having had the pleasure of building a game together with a community like this one.
However, every journey has an end. As 1.17 was Minecraft Dungeons’ final update, our team has now moved on to new projects that continue to explore experiences in the Minecraft universe. This means that there are no new features or content updates planned for the game. We do intend to continue bringing new experiences to the Minecraft universe and give our team the freedom to keep exploring the types of games they’re passionate about – just as they did with Dungeons!
Minecraft Dungeons originally launched in 2020 and had a pretty solid reception. It’s a solid game with easy-to-grasp gameplay, and it’s difficult to deny the inherent charm of the Minecraft IP. It’s received several updates over the years, including a couple of DLCs, but it hasn’t received a proper patch since version 1.17 was released last November. With this post, the team confirmed that the previous update was the game’s swansong.
While it might be sad to say goodbye, we look forward to whatever the team makes next. Maybe we’ll see a peek at whatever they’re working on when Minecraft Live airs in just a few weeks.
To keep up on every bit of news from your favorite blocky game franchise, stay tuned to us here at MP1st.
Update #1:According to Netherrealm, the planned patch scheduled to be released today has been delayed as they continue to look into Mortal Kombat 1 server issues.
“Unfortunately, due to the unexpected server issues we encountered today, we need to push today’s planned patch deployment until early next week. We want to focus on server stability before we enter the weekend. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.”
The official Mortal Kombat 1 X (formerly Twitter) account confirmed this, citing that the servers have entered maintenance mode to fix some unforeseen issues.
We need to enter Maintenance Mode to fix these unforeseen server issues. We'll let you know when we are back online. Thank you for understanding.
As always, we’ll update you on Mortal Kombat 1 server status should anything change. In the meantime, if you haven’t already, you can use this time to play more of the single-player.

When the first Alan Wake game was released back in May 2010 for Xbox, most gamers (including this guy) thought we’d be seeing a sequel soon thereafter given the game’s success. As it turns out, that wasn’t the case, and here we are 13 years after, and we’re just getting Alan Wake 2.
If you’re wondering what took Remedy this long to make the sequel, you’re not the only one. Speaking to MP1st during a preview event, we asked Remedy why it took so long to get a sequel to the first game. Alan Wake 2 game director Kyle Rowley and Principal Narrative Designer Molly Maloney both answered that question.
MP1st: What took so long to get an Alan Wake sequel?
Kyle Rowley: It’s a complicated question because obviously when we finished Alan Wake one we really wanted to do the sequel, and because of various different reasons, nothing ever panned out. Every time we’ve tried to create a new game It started out as Alan Wake 2, so Quantum Break had foundations that came from some ideas we wanted to do for Alan Wake 2, Control had some of the ideas that we originally were exploring to do a sequel for Alan Wake 2 and they just didn’t necessarily fit into the kind of game that we were thinking to make at the time. So we kind of just drifted in or whatever. Then after doing Control or while working on Control, we were like, we really, really want to find a way to do this now. The industry at the time, horror was kind of picking up, not just inside of games, but also inside of pop culture, you know, the success of Control, I think has also just allowed us more freedom to kind of explore those kinds of opportunities.
Molly Maloney: I think also this idea had a lot of us really excited. I think Sam (Sam Lake, creative director) sometimes says it’s not the first version of Alan Wake 2, but it is the best version. I think it was a combination of the right idea. Obviously, Epic Games has been a great partner to us, so it’s kind of like the planets aligned and this game finally got to be made. But I think it was made when it needed to be made.
Hopefully, assuming Alan Wake 2 lives up to the hype, we won’t have to wait as long for the third game in the series.
Stay tuned to our full chat with Remedy hitting the site soon.
Twelve years, a remake, and several DLCs later, The Binding of Isaac is finally getting an online co-op feature. More specifically, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, the 2014 remake of the 2011 original. Fans have long been waiting to play Isaac online with their friends, and their patience has finally paid off.
This was confirmed earlier today in a tweet from Tyrone Rodriguez, the game’s Executive Producer:
Short, sweet, and to the point, the tweet shows an image of an online lobby feature for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth and reads “Let’s play Isaac online together soon!” This tweet was shortly followed up with a quote tweet from the game’s creator, Edmund McMillen:
The Binding of Isaac has a very dedicated playerbase, and it’s widely regarded to be one of the best roguelikes of all time. The game’s received consistent updates ever since release which has helped to maintain its longevity. A quick look at the game’s SteamDB page reveals that the game still maintains nearly 20,000 players a day. This is an impressive number of players for a game that’s nearly 10 years old.
There’s still no word on when the online co-op feature will arrive in Isaac, but we’ll be sure to let readers know the second we know more.

With summer turning into fall, that means cooler weather, the holiday season, and of course, the return of NBA basketball. And with the return of the NBA, that also means the newest iteration of NBA 2K. NBA 2K24 offers the latest updated rosters, graphics, and modes for basketball enthusiasts to lose themselves in, though as a sports game, there’s always a sense of “is it worth it” because of the yearly installments. Well, we’re here to tell you that NBA 2K24 is exactly that: another yearly installment that die-hard fans will enjoy, while others will find it difficult to justify a purchase.
Time for Tip-Off
First, it’s important to talk about what exactly NBA 2K24 brings to the table. For seasoned fans, much of the old game modes have returned in MyTeam, MyCareer, and MyNBA. So for players who want to either create their own NBA superstar, construct a contending team with playing cards, or operate as a general manager in the traditional sense, NBA 2K24 offers those options again.
Giannis Antetokounmpo dunking on the Miami Heat.
The main difference in game modes between last year and this year are the Mamba Moments. The late Kobe Bryant graces the cover of NBA 2K24, and similar to Michael Jordan’s challenges from a year ago, Bryant has a dedicated section of the game. These seven iconic moments occur throughout Bryant’s career and you’ll be tasked to replicate certain conditions to pass them. Rewards earned in Mamba Moments can be used in MyTeam and MyCareer.
Speaking of rewards, NBA 2K24 has a Season Pass that essentially acts as a Battle Pass. Each season runs for about a month and offers a plethora of rewards that you will unlock by simply playing the game. It doesn’t matter which game mode you’re in, you’ll always earn experience points that will be applied toward the Season Pass.
Season Pass upgradable tiers.
While there is a free Base Pass, you do have the option to purchase an upgradeable tier. This is a new way for NBA 2K24 to farm microtransactions aside from offering Virtual Currency to help boost your MyCareer player. Spending more money is understandably not something we wholeheartedly endorse but in this case, we can make an exception. If you plan on grinding the hell out of NBA 2K24, it would behoove you to upgrade the Season Pass. There is a treasure trove of rewards that can be used in all of the game modes and experience boosts that will make it easier to improve in MyCareer.
Conquer the City
MyCareer mode remains the most popular game mode in NBA 2K24 and offers several things to do. But before you begin staking your claim in the City, you’re tasked with creating your NBA superstar build. Similar to previous years, adjusting your physical traits like wingspan and height will impact a variety of attributes so it’s important to take your time in creating your build.
Once you’re satisfied with your player, it’s time for your NBA career to begin. Unlike previous years, you can simply choose which team you want to play for in NBA 2K24. While this gives you a bit more control in choosing a team where your player will thrive, it would’ve been nice to still have the option to be randomly drafted.
You can focus on simply playing the NBA games but MyCareer truly shines in the City. There are several missions scattered in the City and some are always changing. Completing activities in the City is an effective way to further improve your player on your quest to become the Greatest Of All Time. The ultimate goal of MyCareer is to surpass all-time great players and being able to see your player rise through the tiers is a great detail. There’s plenty to be done in the City so be sure to explore every nook and cranny.
Verdict
NBA 2K24 is the same game more or less than its many predecessors, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The gameplay remains solid with an emphasis on shooting, so it may take a bit to get used to the more delicate mechanics. The City is full of activities that you should not overlook and can be quick and easy ways to improve your player. MyNBA allows you to take control of a franchise in five different eras and new RPG elements add a layer to the general manager component. While NBA 2K24 does have a “pay to win” aspect to it, the upgraded Season Pass isn’t that important to where a casual player should feel pressured to purchase. If anything, NBA 2K24 is for die-hard NBA fans and gamers who plan on grinding the game well into the NBA season.
Score: 7.5/10
Pros:
Reliving Kobe Bryant’s Greatest Moments in Mamba Moments
Having the flexibility to choose your team in MyCareer
RPG elements for general managers in MyNBA
Season Pass to earn a variety of rewards
Cons:
More microtransactions for upgraded tiers of Season Pass
Not having the option to be randomly drafted in MyCareer

Grand Theft Auto 6 might be one of the most hyped game of all time at this point. GTA 5 recently turned ten years old, and fans have been looking for signs of the next game anywhere they can find them. Unsurprisingly, then, the GTA Online Moon Festival event just went live, and it seems Rockstar might be teasing GTA 6 with it.
In this seemingly innocuous tweet about the update, fans were quick to point out that the blocking of the photo was too coincidental to not be intentional. As you can see, the characters are stationed in the middle of the screen to block most of the letters of the iconic Vinewood sign from GTA’s game world. This leaves just the V and the I highlighted on the left side. Most players believe that this is a tease at GTA 6, as the game’s titles are typically stylized with roman numerals.
This supposed “tease” could be a stretch, but GTA fans are taking anything they can get these days. With that out of the way, let’s get into the actual details of the event:
GTA Online Moon Festival Details
Players who log into GTA Online this week will receive the Red Happy Moon Tee as a reward for celebrating the Moon Festival. The Moon Festival, or Mid-Autumn Festival as it’s often called, is a traditional Chinese celebration, but it’s regularly celebrated in LA which is what GTA’s Los Santos is based on.
Players can also expect doubled production speeds for Biker Businesses, Bunker Stock, and Nightclub Warehouse Stock. Upgrades and modifications for the Executive Office, Bunker, Nightclub, and Biker Clubhouse are also 40% off this week, so players are encouraged to upgrade their businesses while prices are down.

Hopefully, we’ll get our first look at the game’s new map, Other than that, DICE has been quite silent on the upcoming season, though one of the devs did say that Season 6 will have “interesting moments” that players won’t expect.

Let’s say you’re brand-new to the Payday franchise, having never touched the previous entry whatsoever. You’re about to wind up thrust into the criminal underbelly of New York City with a team of seasoned heisters. If you’re playing a public game, don’t expect them to wait. They expect you to handle your business. But learning all of the new mechanics on the fly is made easier when the heist isn’t terribly difficult. Here’s the best Payday 3 heist for beginners!
When it comes to the best beginner heist in Payday 3, I bet most would expect us to drop No Rest For the Wicked as the go-to for newcomers. Sure, it’s an easy heist at a small-time bank in the big city. It’s also the first heist most players will become intimate with during their playtime in Payday 3. It’s easy and straightforward. But it’s not the only easy heist available.
Instead, we recommend Gold & Sharke. It’s a bank heist that proves extremely lucrative and easy to complete. The only genuine downside to Gold & Sharke is its length. It’s not as fast as, say, Road Rage, but it does pay more. But hey, as a beginner, the length doesn’t matter as much. It provides adequate time to learn the groove of the game while also earning a ton of cash to spend on weapons, attachments, and clothing options.
Tips to Complete Gold & Sharke
As a beginner, don’t worry about stealth. It’s entirely possible to complete Gold & Sharke loud, and it’s often more fun. Go ahead and whip out that shotgun and have a blast!
Gold & Sharke features numerous steps to complete, so keep busy. Even as a beginner, try to help the team find the clues in Human Resources, drill open the gate, and loot the vault. Play your part!
Do your best to stick with at least one other teammate. If someone goes down during loud gameplay, the partner can easily pick them up and keep the flow going strong.
