Diablo 2 Resurrected Down and Experiecning Disconnects Due to DDoS Attacks This May 11

Following yesterday’s scheduled maintenance for Diablo 2 Resurrected, it seems a DDoS (distributed denial of service) attack is happening now and is affecting Battle.net users! If you’re seeing Diablo 2 Resurrected down reports this May 11 (May 12 for Asia), don’t fret, it’s not just you.

Diablo 2 Resurrected Down Status and Updates for May 11 (May 12 for Asia):

Here’s the latest announcement from Blizzard Entertainment:

[#BNet] We are currently experiencing a DDoS attack, which may result in high latency and disconnections for some players. We are actively working to mitigate this issue.

Just to reiterate, there are people being disconnected from games, and are having a hard time logging in as well:

lovely server disconnect
by inDiablo_2_Resurrected

DDoS attacks confirmed by @BlizzardCS on Twitter. That’s why we’ve been having latency and login issues.

Battle net down? Up? Down again?
byu/Skinvisible inDiablo_2_Resurrected

Aside from Diablo 2 Resurrected, Overwatch is seeing server issues as well, which isn’t surprising given it also runs on Battle.net!

Battlefield Franchise: EA Rethinking Development Process From the Ground Up

With Battlefield 2042 not performing up to publisher EA’s expectations, some might be hoping that lead studio DICE takes a step back, and take in everything that made BF2402 fail, and make sure it doesn’t happen in future entries in the Battlefield franchise. Well, it seems that’s exactly what EA is doing.

During EA’s quarterly earnings call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson said that they are “rethinking the development process from the ground up” for the Battlefield franchise.

Mario Luc (Barclays): And then just one on Battlefield, I was just curious if there’s any updates on that franchise. I know you guys previously mentioned you’re willing to kind of invest more into the franchise in the long term. But has that mindset changed in the past few weeks given the lack of resurgence from the last update? Thank you.

Andew Wilson (EA CEO): No. And again, we take a long view here. This is one of the great franchises in our industry, built by one of the great teams in our industry. And our expectation is that we’ll continue to grow and be a really important part of our portfolio for many, many years to come. We’ve got incredible leadership over that team now. They’re rethinking the development process from the ground up and really using kind of the Vince Zampella/Respawn model of get to the fun as quickly as possible.

They’ve been doing thousands of updates for the community working on quality of life and really getting the core game right. I think there’s still more work for us to do there, and the team is committed to doing that work for the community. And beyond that, once we get to a place where we feel like we’re in the right place with the core experience and with the core game, then you should expect us to invest and grow beyond where the game is at today.

Given EA tapped Respawn boss Vince Zampella to oversee the Battlefield franchise, and the publisher even setting up a “Campaign studio” up in Seattle for the property, it looks like the publisher is looking to reinvent the shooter series in a major way. Based on what we’ve experienced with BF2042, there’s nowhere to go but up, right?

What do you want to see EA do different with the next Battlefield game? Sound off in the comments and let us know.

Capcom to Launch “Major New Titles” by March 31, 2023

In their latest financial relations report, Capcom has pledged to launch several “major new titles” by March 31, 2023, the date which marks the end of another fiscal year. The publisher also set a record goal for sales across their titles, whilst also giving some time to explain their media plans for the live-action Resident Evil set to stream on Netflix and more.

In the fiscal report, Capcom wrote these three under their full-year business plans and strategies:

  • Forecast 10th consecutive fiscal year of increased operating income driven by further growth of Digital Contents business
  • Aim to achieve record Consumer sub-segment sales volume of 37 million units with new and catalog title sales growth.
  • Launch major new titles, including Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

As for what these new titles may be, we have a few ideas based on some of their recent announcements. The Capcom Fighting Collection is arriving this June, and so does the new Monster Hunter Rise expansion, Subreak. The publisher is also gearing up for the next-gen re-release of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7, all set to arrive later this year. In 2023, Capcom is looking to shed more details and release Exoprimal, a new action game, as well as Pragmata. Currently, Street Fighter 6 has no set release window, so at the moment we don’t know if that is also part of their multiple-title slate for the fiscal year of 2022.

In other sales-breaking news for Capcom, Devil May Cry 5 has reached a record-high five million units sold for the franchise. Read more about it here.

FIFA Confirms It Will Develop Own Footie Game After EA Split, Says It Will “Remain the Best”

FIFA, the football governing body, has officially confirmed that they will be moving on in the gaming industry with a new game after Electronic Arts’ confirmation of EA Sports FC. In an agressive statement, the FIFA president himself states adamantly that the FIFA name will “remain forever and remain THE BEST.”

Here’s the statement from FIFA president Gianni Infantino following a report from the VGC:

“I can assure you that the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans. The FIFA name is the only global, original title. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25 and FIFA 26, and so on – the constant is the FIFA name and it will remain forever and remain THE BEST.”

“The interactive gaming and esports sector is on a path of unrivalled growth and diversification. FIFA’s strategy is to ensure we can make the most of all future options and ensure a wide range of products and opportunities for gamers, fans, member associations and partners.”

Despite these strong statements, it’s worth noting that EA has still confirmed a FIFA release for later this fall, with 2023 the official start of its split from the branding as EA Sports FC launches. At this time, all eyes are on FIFA as players wonder which developer and publisher will manage to take the license for this prestigious yearly sports title.

Stay tuned here at MP1st for more information on FIFA 23, as well as the new EA Sports FC!

Paladins Update 2.52 Patch Notes; Out for Heart of Darkness This May 11

Evil Mojo has released Paladins update 2.52 patch today, and this one is for the major Heart of Darkness update across platforms! Check out the full Paladins May 11 update patch notes below.

Paladins Update 2.52 Patch Notes | Paladins May 11 Update Patch Notes:

New Champion: Lillith, The Heartless

What is the value of eternal life? At what point does the cost become too great?

Lillith, through ill-fortune and fear, has found herself on the path of this defiled discovery. Once a staunch defender of the Magistrate, Lillith was a confidant and friend of Lian; even becoming a border-lord in the far-off lands over which Lian holds dominion. Yet, this proud life would not last forever.

Gravely wounded in a border incursion by Resistance fighters, Lillith painstakingly crawled away from the battlefield, cursing those who brought her to death’s door. What Lillith didn’t know – what she couldn’t have imagined, was that the Abyss would reach out to her and offer her a gift…an offer that was too powerful to refuse.

Now, Lilith reigns from her dark corners of the Realm. Aided by her unnaturally long life and keen mind, Lillith dashes from shadow to shadow with her deadly Heart of Crimson: a sinister weapon that swells with unnatural power whenever it tastes the blood of her enemies. General Updates

    Dev Commentary

    • We’ve got a new Ranked Split, a new Siege: Beyond schism, and some long overdue enemy Bots in this upcoming patch! In addition, we’ve added some additional content to the Arcane Powers Chest and the Diamond Trove, and have increased rewards available via Earn Free Rewards! We hope you enjoy them, and definitely let us know what you think of the new variant of Siege: Beyond!

New Champions added to Practice Queues

    • The following Champions have been added to the list of Bots:
      • Koga, Dredge, Atlas, Io, Raum, Tiberius, Corvus, Vora, Octavia, Vatu, Saati, Azaan, Betty la Bomba

    Increased “Free Rewards”

    • Starting in Lost Future, each video viewed will grant 100→150 Gold. The rotating rewards for every 5th view will change as well:
      • 5th  : Event Pass Booster -> 10 Crystals
      • 10th: 10 Bounty Coins → Flair & Style Chest
      • 15th: 10 Bounty Coins → 20 Bounty Coins
      • 20th: unchanged
      • 25th: 10 Bounty Coins → 20 Bounty Coins
      • 30th: 10 Bounty Coins → 5 Crystals
      • 35th: Event Pass Booster → 20 bounty Coins
    • We’re also enabling a one-time quest to earn at least one Free Reward – so there’s never been a better time to try it out!

    Siege Beyond

    • Welcome to the latest variant of Paladins: Siege Beyond! Similar to the previous schism, the upcoming one will be a new mode where the community can try to give feedback on new experimental mechanics in Paladins before they affect existing game modes. As per the previous one, these changes will not affect Siege: Core, Ranked, or any other game modes, only the new Siege: Beyond.
    • Where our first Schism in Paladins affected the Item Store, the second will be focused on the cart and how it is pushed! Barik has been working on a new Cart design, and it could well be a game changer! All the factions have adopted it, but like many new technologies, there /may/ still be some bugs to work out.

    Schism 2 – Prototype Cart

    • In Siege: Beyond, the initial point is captured normally, and spawns a cart for the capturing team. That’s where things get interesting—the cart will now move forward of its own volition, gaining or losing speed based on how many allies and enemies are in range.
    • So how do the defenders stop the cart’s advance? By destroying it! The prototype is vulnerable to damage from weapons and skills, and after sustaining enough damage, will break down completely until repaired.
    • When a cart breaks down, the pushing team will need to repair it by controlling points (which the defenders can contest) to get the cart back up and running. Depending on how commandingly they do so, the new cart may offer additional advantages once it’s been repaired.
    • As per Siege: Core rules, advancing the cart to the enemy’s base will win the round and earn a point, and the first team to accumulate 5 points wins.

    Ranked Split Updates

    Ranked Split Reward

    • Static Avatar – Queen of the Night

    Commendation Reward

    • Animated Avatar – Seeker’s Gaze

    Map Rotation

    • Time to spice things up! For this ranked rotation, we will be swapping out Frozen Guard for Splitstone Quarry, and keep the new Warder’s Gate rework out to account for polish. This patch’s casual siege rotation has also been modified to accommodate this change. In other words, while all casual maps will remain playable, some map percentages have been lowered and increased in line with the current ranked rotation and community feedback.

    Balance

Developer Commentary: In an effort to constantly explore avenues to improve not only in-game content, but the entire Paladins experience, these notes are in a slightly different format than previously, including the current descriptions of most of the cards/talents/abilities being changed. Please let us know your thoughts on this format.

Overview: This update has a mixture of overperforming Champions being brought more in line with the rest of the roster, quality-of-life changes for Champions frustrating to play as or against, and buffs or slight reworks to underutilized cards and talents. Some of these changes are a bit more extensive than others, especially when introducing different mechanics or gameplay experiences, but we look forward to gathering all your feedback during the PTS cycle and finding the right spot for this update.

    Azaan

    • General
      • Base Health
        • Reduced 4500 ➡️ 4250
    • Abilities
      • Ire (Passive)
        • Reduced max Damage Resistance at 100% from 15% ➡️ 12%
      • Conviction (Ability 2)
        • Reduced range 50 ➡️ 45
        • Reduced Stun duration
          • Non-talented
            • Against Sanctuary walls 1.7s ➡️ 1.5s
            • Against other surfaces 0.85s ➡️ 0.75s
          • Talented
            • Against Sanctuary Walls 2.55s ➡️ 2.35s
            • Against other surfaces 1.275 ➡️ 1.175
      • Reckoning (Altfire)
        • Reduced lift duration 0.3s ➡️ 0.25s
      • Deliverance (Ultimate)
        • Increased damage on landing 150 ➡️ 250
    • Developer Commentary: Azaan remains the Champion with the highest ban rate in ranked matches and a general sentiment of frustration playing against him. We hope to preserve the sense of agency Azaan players experience, while targeting his survivability at base and his utility to bring him into what we hope is a healthier spot to play against.

    Barik

    • Abilities
      • Barricade (Altfire)
        • Increased base Health 3750 ➡️ 4000
    • Talents
      • Tinkerin
        • Current: Modify your Blunderbuss to fire a single slug that deals 535 damage.

      • Grenade Launcher (Inhand)
        • Added rate of fire to description
        • Added max Ammo to description

    • Talents
      • Gotta Bounce
        • Cooldown reduction 6s ➡️ 5s
    • Cards
      • Eureka Moment
        • Decreased amount of damage needed to generate Ammo {2500|-200} ➡️ {2000|-200}
      • Labor of Genius
        • Old: Increase the time before your Inhand Grenades explode by {10|10}%.
        • New: Hits with Grenade Launcher increase Reload Speed by 5% for {0.5|0.5}s, stacking up to 3 times. Additional hits refresh the duration.
    • Developer Commentary: We’ve heard the sentiment is that Betty la Bomba has a few aspects that are misaligned with the rest of her player experience. Namely, her Ultimate felt underwhelming, and her mobility can be frustrating to play against. Her Ultimate is receiving some quality of life buffs, including the ability to remain in the air where she uses it, whereas her mobility with Gotta Bounce is being brought down as well. Additionally, we’re tuning up some of her cards that didn’t quite perform as well as others.

    Furia

    • Talents
      • Exterminate
        • Current: When Pyre Strike hits an enemy champion it stops moving until it ends and deals 75% more damage to enemies under it.
        • New: When Pyre Strike hits an enemy champion it stops moving until it ends and deals up to 100% more damage to enemies under it, increasing based on the number of hits they take.
    • Cards
      • Devout Dexterity
        • Current: Generate {1|1} Ammo after earning an Elimination.
        • New: Regenerate {1|1} Ammo every 0.5s for 1.5s after earning an Elimination
      • Light Forge
        • Current: Hitting Kindle Soul increases your Movement Speed by {8|8}% for 1s.
        • New: Hitting Kindle Soul increases you and your target’s Movement Speed by {scale=5|5}% for 1.5s.
    • Developer Commentary: Exterminate is a talent that can is very sensitive to balance, quickly shifting between too powerful to seemingly useless. This change is meant to reward players who ensure enemies are stuck in the beam of death, while preventing it from feeling like an overwhelmingly frustrating ability to play against. We also see a few underutilized cards changed to help them find a place in your loadouts.

    Grohk

    • Talents
      • Totemic Ward
        • New: Now also increases the radius of Healing Totem by 25%.

    Jenos

    • Talents
      • Binary Star
        • Increased rate of fire from 1 every 0.5s ➡️ 1 every 0.45s
New: Now reduces your maximum Ammo to 10.
    • Cards
      • Penumbra
        • Reduced Lifesteal percentage {7|7} ➡️ {5|5}
      • Lorentz Configuration
        • Current: Increase your maximum Ammo by {2|2}.
        • New: Increase your maximum Ammo by {10|10}%.
    • Developer Commentary: These Jenos changes are a different take on reducing the pain points of Binary Star without players feeling it has lost its value as a talent.

    Khan

    • Abilities
      • Bulwark (Altfire)
        • Increased base Health 4250 ➡️ 4400
    • Talents
      • Lian’s Shield
        • New: Now also increases the base recharge rate of your shield by 20% (for a total of 120% of non-talented base)
    • Developer Commentary: Khan has had a difficult time standing toe to toe with other Champions’ ability to prevent damage with Shielding. These changes should bring him a little more in line with his competition, especially when running the Lian’s Shield talent.

    Kinessa

    • Talents
      • Eagle Eye
        • Current: Change Sniper Rifle to have increased Fire Rate, Charge Rate, and maneuverability while scoped, but reduce the damage per shot.
        • New: You can have two additional Oppressor Mines out at one time and you throw out two Mines per use of the ability instead of one.
    • Developer Commentary: We have heard from the majority of players who find the Eagle Eye’s rework has, overall, felt underwhelming. We will continue to seek out efficient ways of providing interesting or unique playstyles for Champions, and this rework places more of an emphasis on Kinessa’s capacity to toss out mines. We’ll keep an eye on this to make sure it’s not TOO Oppressive, though.

    Mal’damba

    • Abilities
      • Mending Spirits (Altfire)
        • Now refunds some Cooldown if you miss
    • Cards
      • Pungent Gourd
        • Current: Heal for {90|90} after activating Gourd.
        • New: Increase your Allies’ and your Movement Speed by {5|5}% while in your Gourd and for 0.5s after leaving it.
    • Developer Commentary: Missing Mending Spirits never felt good. However, investing significantly into Eerie Presence means losing out on other opportunities in the loadout. This change aims to alleviate some of the frustration of missing your Mending Spirits while also opening up an opportunity for a more diverse loadout.

    Pip

    • General
      • Reduced head hitbox size by approximately 15%
    • Developer Commentary: “The time had finally come.” – Neco

    Saati

    • Abilities
      • Hand Cannon (Inhand)
        • Decreased damage per shot 550 ➡️  530
    • Pips (Passive)
      • Reduced recharge rate 1 per 2.5s ➡️ 1 per 2.65s
    • Blast Back (Ability 2)
      • Increased range 45 ➡️ 55
    • Developer Commentary: Saati is currently overperforming. Blast Back had a range that wasn’t initially consistent with the intended range on release, so this is addressing that issue, but an overall decrease in capability to use her abilities and a nerf to her damage output should bring her more in line with the rest of the roster.

    Seris

    • Abilities
      • Rend Soul (Ability 1)
        • Increased Cooldown 6s ➡️ 7s
        • Increase damage 80 ➡️ 90
        • Increase healing received 8% ➡️ 12%
      • Convergence (Ultimate)
        • Can now reactivate this ability to detonate it in mid-air
    • Talents
      • Agony:
        • The current effect is now applied at base.
        • New: For each stack of Soul Orb detonated by Rend Soul, your next Restore Soul ignores 5% of Antihealing (excluding Willo’s Dead Zone) up to 25% (5 stacks) for up to 8s.
    • Developer Commentary: Seris is a Champion who embodies Support for a variety of players, including those newer to Paladins. We want Seris to have her own niche and be viable at all levels, but not oppressive in the hands of the most skilled or so weak that she never sees play beyond a certain skill level. This particular change is one we very much need feedback on during the PTS cycle to help gauge her viability in general and with regards anti-antihealing.

    Strix

    • Abilities
      • Stealth (Ability 2)
        • Increased Stealth resource consumption per second 10 ➡️ 12

    Vatu

    • Abilities
      • Kunai (Inhand)
        • Increased effective range 75 ➡️ 90
        • Increased the minimum damage done at maximum range 50% ➡️ 65%

    Yagorath

    • General
      • Reduced base Health 6000 ➡️ 5750
    • Abilities
      • Devour (Ultimate)
        • This ability now has a minimum range of 50
        • This ability can no longer miss under normal circumstances
    • Developer Commentary: Another change that requires significant feedback from players is this change to Yagorath’s Ultimate. She is now required to be a minimum distance away from an enemy before she can use her Ultimate on them, but (under normal circumstances) if she sees the brackets indicating a valid target for her Ultimate and uses it, the ability will hit and the Ultimate will begin. We anticipate further numbers changes during PTS after this change.

Pearl Abyss has released the Black Desert Online update 2.33 patch today, and this one is for the Drakania pre-creation and more changes! Check out the full Black Desert Online May 11 update patch notes below.

Black Desert Online Update 2.33 Patch Notes | Black Desert Online May 11 Update Patch Notes:

Adventurers,

A new update has been released, bringing the Drakania and Season Pre-creation window, the new Dawn Earrings with Abandoned Monastery, and weight reductions on common items! Read on to find out more about what is coming with the latest Black Desert update.

Drakania Pre-Creation Begins!

● Black Desert’s latest class, Drakania, can now be pre-created.
Black Desert Online Update 2.33
– Pre-creation and customization for Drakania is now available.
– With the addition of Drakania, the maximum number of character flots has been increased to 27.
※ Character Slots will be expanded to a maximum of 28 slots in the future.

Season Character Pre-creation begins

● Prepare for the ‘Season: Drakania’, by pre-creating your season character now!
– To create a season character, once your character is customized to your liking, when you go to choose a name for your character, select the ‘Season’ option.

Abandoned Monastery + Dawn Earings!

● Calpheon Shadow Knights in the Abandoned Monastery have become stronger due to Kzarka’s blessing.
– Changed the Recommended AP for certain monsters beneath the Abandoned Monastery to 280.
– Stronger monsters will have the title [Blessed by Kzarka].
– Upon defeating certain monsters, up to 2 players can receive the loot and a low chance to obtain the Dawn Earring.
– These new monsters in the Abandoned Monastery share Knowledge with the existing ones.
– Killing monsters in the Abandoned Monastary (Restricted Territory), there is a chance that a ‘Dawn’s Grudge’ will appear.
– When there are 5 Dawn’s Grudges, which appear when defeating monsters in the Abandoned Monastery (Restricted Territory), a Specter of Belmorn will appear.
– When the Specter of Belmorn is defeated, the 4 players with the highest contribution will be rewarded.
– Dawn’s Grudge does not dissipated over time.
– No extra ‘Dawn’s Grudge’ will spawn while Belomorn is defeatable.

● Added new item Dawn Earring. Dawn Earrings can be obtained by combining the new item Dawn’s Resentment.

– In your Inventory, place Dawn’s Resentment in the center, then Marks of Shadow to its top and bottom, and Shrine Guardian Tokens to its left and right to obtain the Dawn Earring.

Dawn Earring AP Accuracy Stamina
+0 4 18 30

II (DUO) 8 26 50
III (TRI) 10 30 60
IV (TET) 12 34 70
V (PEN) 14 38 100

Improved Pet Looting

The way pets acquire loot, as mentioned in CalpheON Episode 2, has been improved. Previously pets had to follow the character when the character moved, so the more the character moved, the slower the speed of picking up loot. As many adventurers have constantly provided their opinions on the topic, we have had a lot of discussions and tests to find a way to improve this situation, and we have been able to improve the way pets behave by looting items first. After this change it is expected that the chance of missing loot even when moving around a lot will be eased.

● The way pet’s pick up items has been improved.
– It has been improved so that pets will pick up loot first, even if the character moves.
– It has also been changed so that using Pet Skills such as hostility detection, rare monster detection etc do not affect the loot collection rate.

Content Changes

● Adjusted the numbers of the Max HP effect, the buff given to losing team, and the minimum AP/Accuracy/Damage Reduction given to characters participating in Red Battlefield.

Stats Before After
Max HP +1 +1,000
Buff given to losing team Max HP +100

Damage Reduction +20
Max HP +500
AP +30
Damage Reduction +20
Minimum AP 130 200
Minimum Accuracy 380 580
Minimum Damage Reduction 70 180

※ Characters that enter the Red Battlefield with AP/Accuracy/Damage Reduction lower than the minimum will have them raised to the minimum.

Conquest War/ Node War

We received a lot of feedback from our Adventurers, including from CalpheON Episode 2, on the possibility of enjoying Conquest Wars in another region, different from the previous one. So we made the decision to rotate the stat restriction applied in Conquest Wars of each territory. We are planning to appropriately change or maintain the rotation of stat restrictions for Conquest Wars after seeing how it’s used by our Adventurers.

● Changed stat restrictions for Conquest Wars in Calpheon, Valencia, and Mediah as follows:

Adjustments were made to the Command Posts and Field HQs built to participate in Conquest Wars. Guilds participating in Conquest Wars can install either Command Posts or Field HQs depending on which is more strategically advantageous for their members. Guilds that install Command Posts can have their members charge in headfirst at their enemies, while guilds that install Field HQs can aim to make Cannon Observatories to rain down artillery. Also, the cooldown reduction for reviving at Recovery Centers applied in Conquest Wars has been increased. This makes it possible to revive faster from both Command Posts and Field HQs than before.

● Changed the quantity of Command Posts and Field HQs you can install in Conquest Wars as follows:

– Command Post

Categories Before After
Max Number of Annexes 100 110
Barricade 50 50
Wooden Fence 50 50
Wooden Fence Gate 1 1
Recovery Center 5 10
Cannon Observatory 10 3
Elephant Nursery 3 3
Hwacha 2 2
Flame Tower 2 3
Supply Tower 1 2
Siege Defense Tower 20 40

– Field HQ

Recovery Center 6 5
Cannon Observatory 10 10
Elephant Nursery 3 3
Hwacha 2 2
Flame Tower 3 3
Supply Depot 2 2

● Changed the revival cooldown reduction effect of Recovery Centers for Conquest Wars as follows:
– Cooldown reduction for reviving from a Conquest War: -3 sec → Cooldown reduction for reviving from a Conquest War: -6 sec

● Fixed an issue where if a wooden gate was destroyed whilst under construction in Node War, players would not be able to pass through the gap for a certain period.
● Improved the Node/Conquest War Supply Depot vendors and the NPC Vendors Duncan, Dulgun, and Olympia to now sell [Guild] Instant HP Potion (Extra Large) and [Guild] Instant MP Potion (Extra Large).
– The items [Guild] Instant HP Potion (Extra Large) and [Guild] Instant MP Potion (Extra Large) can be purchased with 2,000 Silver from guild funds and can be sold for 600 guild Silver.
– The items [Guild] Instant HP Potion (Extra Large) and [Guild] Instant MP Potion (Extra Large) can only be used during Node/Conquest Wars.

Character Changes

● Fixed the issue for the following classes where the idle animation was abnormally short.
– Valkyrie, Kunoichi, Dark Knight, Guardian

Black Desert Online Update 2.33 Tamer

In the process of rebooting Tamer, we focused on enhancing her representation and unique combat style by increasing the utilization of Heilang. After the reboot, many Adventurers have been enjoying combat with the improved utilization of Heilang. However, Adventurers playing other classes as well as Adventurers playing Tamer have given us feedback on how only the skill Roaring is used while mounted on a horse. We thought a lot about this situation and came to the conclusion that it does require some improvement and change. First of all, the overall cooldown was reduced for the skill Prime: Roaring, but it was changed to not be activated during cooldown. Instead, the skill effects of Prime: Roaring were adjusted to be applied in other skills as well since it is an important skill on the ground as well. Also, adjustments were made to work as a substitute when Roaring cannot be activated such as skill combos or improvements on utilization so that you can deal damage enough. Due to this adjustment, you’ll no longer be able to use only Roaring while mounted like you could before. This might be slightly disappointing for many Adventurers playing Tamer, but we thought it was a necessary improvement, considering future updates including Pet AI improvements and the development of Tier 5 pets, etc. and in the long run. We ask for our Tamer Adventurers to be understanding of this. We will continue to check and make improvements even after the update.

● Roaring – Cooldown changed as follows

Skill Name Before After

Item Changes

As time has passed, we have added many items to the world of Black Desert. As a result, it became increasingly difficult to know about which items are needed, and how they are used. We are making steps to addressing this today, and will continue improving item descriptions in the future.

● The descriptions of many items has improved so that the acquisition and use of different items can be easily recognized.
– Descriptions of items will be improved sequentially.

Black Stones, Memory Fragments, Hunter’s Seals, Gold Bars, Node/Conquest War items, and many more items would naturally pile up in our Adventurer’s Inventory and take up a significant amount of weight. However, this will be changed as 344 items had their weight reduced. We hope this will help our Adventurers take off on their adventures, lighter than before.

● Decreased the weights of Gold Bars, Seals, Black Stones, and other stackable items (a total of 344 items).

Item Name Previous Weight New Weight
Black Stone Items 0.35 LT 0.1 LT
Memory Fragment, Sandstorm Crystal 0.3 LT 0.1 LT
Pets & Fairy Items 0.2 ~ 0.5 LT 0.1 LT
Horse Capturing Items 0.7 LT 0.1 LT
Seals 0.3 ~ 0.5 LT 0.1 LT
Hunting Items 0.3 LT 0.1 LT
Crystal Materials 1 LT 0.1 LT
Gold Bars 2 ~ 150 LT 1~ 75 LT
Explosives 0.7 ~ 50 LT 0.3 ~ 30 LT
Guild Supplies 0.35 ~ 10 LT 0.2 ~ 1 LT
Others (Keys, etc.) 0.3 LT 0.1 LT
Designs and Permits 0.3 LT 0.1 LT

– You can see the full list of items that have their weight reduced below.

As announced during CalpheON Episode 2, the processing stones were combined. We searched for a way to combine these stones together as many of our Adventurers have requested this change. Now, Adventurers will be able to mass process a variety of items with a single processing stone. We are also currently working hard on developing the Life Inventory..

● Processing Stones have been condensed into one item
– As the Processing Stones have been condensed, you can now use one processing stone for all types of processing.

● Due to the consolidation of these items, the pre-existing processing stones will no longer be sold by the vendors. Instead, you will be able to purchase the new Loggia Processing Stone and Techthon Processing Stone from the same NPC vendors you purchased the pre-existing processing stones from.
– Removed: Loggia Processing Stone – Lake, Vitality, Energy, Sun, Wind, Lava, and Techthon Processing Stone – Lake, Vitality, Energy, Sun, Wind, Lava
– Added: Loggia Processing Stone, Techthon Processing Stone

As the processing stones were consolidated, the pre-existing processing stones that you had can either be used as an item or sold to NPC vendors for Silver. The pre-existing processing stones in your possession have all been replaced with “Sealed” processing stones. If you would like to use the processing stone as an item, then you can equip it after using it with Simple Alchemy.
Otherwise, you can sell all the extra processing stones for Silver to NPC vendors at the highest price that they were being sold at on the Central Market across the world.

● The following changes were made to your pre-existing Manos, Techthon, Loggia Processing Stones you have in your possession:
– All of your Processing Stones were removed from your possession and Sealed Processing Stones with the same enhancement level were sent to your Mailbox. (e.g.: +13 Manos Processing Stone – Lake → Sealed +13 Manos Processing Stone)
– Sealed Processing Stones cannot be equipped. You can either sell them to vendors for silver or use Simple Alchemy to make them into processing stones that can be equipped.
– You can see below how much Silver the Sealed Processing Stones will sell via NPC vendors.
※ If there are multiple items sent to your mailbox, you may need to take one item out at a time.

● Added a new method to make Manos Processing Stones as the old Manos Processing Stone – Lake, Vitality, Energy, Sun, Wind, and Lava will no longer be available.

How to Make Manos Processing Stone

※ Please contact [Support] and attach screenshots of the item tooltips displaying the info of the dyes applied to the outfit previously if the color has changed.

● Added ways to exchange Leila’s Petal for Mythical Spirit Powder.
– You can exchange Leila’s Petal x1 for Mythical Spirit Powder x5.
– You can make the exchange via Fairy Queen Theiah at the Kamasylve Temple.

● Fixed the issue where the max durability increased from successful enhancement of items while using Item Copy wouldn’t be applied to the copied items.
● Added a text describing how to check out info on crafting to the item descriptions of Delotia and Delotia Essence.

You can now keep multiple Talibre’s Tears (an item required to enter Atoraxxion, a co-op dungeon) conveniently in your storage and inventory since they were changed to now be stackable instead of taking up individual slots in your inventory.

● Improved Talibre’s Tear to now be stackable in one slot of your inventory.
– The Talibre’s Tears in your possession will be retrieved and sent to your storage in Heidel.

● Changed the materials needed to enhance and recover durability of accessories obtained as rewards from the main questline.
– Affected Items: Tears of the Wind Necklace, Forest’s Eye Earring, Red Sand Crystal Ring, Rock Heart Belt
– Enhancement Material: Freed Magical Black Stone → Black Stone (Weapon)

● Sent the following items to Heidel Storage as replacements for the enhancement materials that were changed.
– Freed Magical Black Stone x1 → Black Stone (Weapon) x1
– Freed Magical Shard x1 → Memory Fragment x1
※ If you already have more than 192 items stored in Heidel Storage, then you can take the items out by taking out other items in the storage first.

● Changed the icon for the Character Weight & Inventory Exchange Coupon Item
● Added the item, Quick Flare.
– Quick Flare is an item that you can use more quickly and swiftly than the regular Flare that lights up and shows enemies within the range.
– You can craft Quick Flare at a Lv. 3 Siege Weapon Workshop just like Flare.
– You need Black Stone (Weapon) x20, Powder of Flame x50, Melted Copper Shard x30, and Coal x5 to craft Quick Flare.
※ Quick Flare cannot be registered on the Central Market.

● Added a way to obtain [Manor] Cherry Tree.
– You can exchange it for Mysterious Seed x5 via the Seed Vendor Ahr in Calpheon.

● Increased the Silver prices of Pearl items and amount of extractable Valks’ Cry and Cron Stones from all Pearl Outfits that can be registered on the Central Market.

Quest and Knowledge Changes

Weekly quests from which you can obtain materials required to craft Odore’s Spirit Essence and Ornette’s Sprit Essence were added.
You can now additionally obtain one of the items listed in the chart below just by investing around an hour of your time per week.
We hope for Adventurers who are attempting to crafting Odore’s Spirit Essences and Ornette’s Spirit Essences can now aim towards achieving a more visible goal and Adventurers who haven’t been able to make attempts and have just started the adventure to think of it as a steppingstone in the adventure.

● Added six weekly quests from which you can obtain materials required for crafting Odore’s Spirit Essence and Ornette’s Spirit Essence.
– These are weekly quests that will reset every Thursday after 12AM UTC+0

We increased the contribution EXP rewards for the regular quests in Balenos and Serendia. The regular quests are optional in the world of Black Desert, however, we felt that new Adventurers starting out and taking the time to explore the world should have enough points to rent storage and activate production nodes.

● Increased the contribution EXP rewards for 208 regular quests in Balenos to the following:
– You can see the list of quests where the contribution EXP rewards were increased below.

● Increased the contribution EXP rewards for 124 regular quests in Serendia to the following:
– You can see the list of quests where the contribution EXP rewards were increased below.

● Changed the NPC for the quest, [Adventure Log] Wager for the Magic Tome, required to proceed with Caphras’ adventure log, from Zahad, the Smuggler of Valencia, to the Bookseller, Kiyak.
– Due to this change, the relevant quests, dialogs, and item descriptions were changed.

● Fixed the issue where it seemed like the accumulated skill change points didn’t reset upon successful Dream Horse Awakening with a Tier 8 Courser.
● Heilang: Howling – Fixed the issue where the sound effects wouldn’t play when using the skill during cooldown.
● Fixed issues with various background locations
● Fixed the issue where the music for Conquest Wars wouldn’t play in certain situations during Conquest Wars.
● Fixed the issue where someone could climb on to an area on top of installed [Conquest] Command Post/Field HQ and not take damage in certain situations.

EA to Release “Major IP” and “Remake” in Early 2023, Total of 4 Titles Scheduled for 2023 That Are Yet to Be Revealed

It seems EA has a lot more games in the pipeline incoming for 2023, as the publisher revealed that it has a “major IP” as well as a “remake” planned for release in early 2023, with a total of four unannounced titles incoming for the year.

This was revealed during EA’s quarterly financials earnings report, where it touched o some of the games incoming for the first quarter of the year and onwards.

As you can see from the slide, EA has a new entry in the FIFA (it will be EA’s last FIFA-branded soccer sim after today’s announcement) and Madden NFL franchises incoming for Q1 fiscal year 2022. with Q3 alloted for a new Need for Speed game, and a new entry in the NHL sports-sim franchise. The big deal here is Q4, as it has the debut of EA’s PGA Tour golf sim franchise, alongside four unannounced games that are marked as “Major IP,” “Partner Title,” “Remake” and “Sports Title.”

What’s interesting here is, one can assume that the remake being released in Q4 is the Dead Space remake being worked on by Motive Studios, but that has a release schedule of “early 2023” according to the devs. Either the Dead Space remake is being pushed to Q4 2023, or this is an entirely new remake.

As for the sports title, it could be a new NBA basketball sim given the publisher still has the rights to publish a game based on the NBAm or perhaps a new UFC game or (one can hope) a new entry in the Fight Night franchise? Finally, for the “partner title,” it could reference Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order 2, as the publisher is partnering with Disney (via Lucasfilm Games), and the publisher has confirmed repeatedly that Jedi Fallen Order has been a huge hit for the publisher.

For the “Major IP,” I’m hoping that means a new entry in the Battlefield franchise is making its way out sometime next year, though I admit, that is highly improbable.

Call Of Duty Warzone Operation Monarch Rundown – Here’s Everything You Need to Know

Ahead of its launch tomorrow, Raven Software has released a rundown of Call of Duty Warzone Operation Monarch, the new limited time event dropping in-game tomorrow! Check out the details on the new event below and find out how you can align yourself with these legendary titans.

Their Fate. Our Fight. Welcome to Operation Monarch

The Monster of All Battles is here.

From May 11 to May 25, Call of Duty: Warzone Operators can stand toe-to-toe with Kong and Godzilla in the Operation Monarch limited-time mode.

This mode shares a name with the Operation Monarch event, which offers rewards for participating in matches, collecting Monarch Intel, completing challenges, and even buying limited-time Monsterverse Bundles inspired by Godzilla vs. Kong.

Here’s the tale of the tape for the two titans coming in Operation Monarch of Call of Duty Warzone tomorrow:

Godzilla

Monarch Designation: GODZILLA

Scientific Classification: TITANUS GOJIRA

Height: 393 Feet

Known Attacks: Heat Ray Breath, Tail Swipe, Dorsal Slice

Tail Length: 582 Feet

Top Tail Swipe Speed: 89 MPH

Underwater Cruising Speed: 40-50 Knots

Volume of Roar: Up To 174 dB

Blood Volume: 530,000 Gallons

Tensile Strength of Bone: 3,000 MPS (Megapascal)

Heat Ray Energy Yield: 315 Trillion Joules

The King of the Monsters has risen from the darkest depths of the ocean to unleash his devastating breath and thunderous roar on unsuspecting shores.

No one — not even the secretive monster defense agency Monarch — knows why Godzilla is so enraged, attacking cities around the world.

His latest target is Caldera, patrolling around the island and using his Heat Ray Breath haphazardly.

This deadly beam of energy appears as several red circles on your minimap after it lights up Godzilla’s scales with an icy-blue glow. Just like a Precision Airstrike, it is best to avoid his line of fire; although he does not purposely target Operators, those who accidentally end up in his destructive path will have mere seconds before getting blasted.

Kong

Monarch Designation: KONG

Scientific Classification: TITANUS KONG

Height: 337 Feet

Known Attacks: Quake Slam, Fin Breaker, Aerial Axe Slash

Punch Strength: Approx. 4.2 M (Magnitude on Richter Scale)

Tensile Strength of Bone: 2,800 MPS (Megapascal)

Volume of Roar: Up to 170 dB

Top Arm Swing Speed: 62 MPH

Top Bipedal Running Speed: 78 MPH

Top Quadrupedal Running Speed: 104 MPH

Preferred Diet: Foliage, Bamboo, Mire Squid

The ruler of Skull Island is now all-powerful, his strength forged in the fire of combat, after decades of defending his territory from nature’s most dangerous creatures.

Kong has developed an epic brawler fight style, using quick feet, aerial traversal, and sheer feral strength to confuse and disorient his opponents.

Although his main domain is Skull Island, Kong is here on Caldera. Is he here to defend this island from Godzilla? Or did Godzilla sense him arriving in Caldera first as the true aggressor?

No matter the explanation as to why he is here alongside Godzilla, Kong will leap and jump around the island. His patterns could be considered predictable, but figuring out where he could land requires further on-the-ground research from Operators.

Kong does not mean to completely crush vehicles and Operators underneath his feet. With that said, merely brushing against Kong can put you in a downed state, so keeping a safe distance from him is a major key to survival.

Remember: Monarch’s organizational mission is “Discovery and Defense in the Time of Monsters.” Our goal is to fight alongside these monsters and live in harmony with them, and through the Operation Monarch mode, Operators can find a way to use their abilities to aid in their own survival.

Titan Frenzy

At the beginning of an Operation Monarch match, and at another point during it, Kong and Godzilla may become enraged and recklessly attack.

This is known as a Titan Frenzy.

After receiving a Titan Frenzy alert, an Operator has two options: tactically withdraw (run away) from these dangerous creatures or attempt to suppress them by dealing direct damage.

The squad who deals the most damage to either Kong or Godzilla during a Titan Frenzy will automatically receive Monarch’s special S.C.R.E.A.M. Device. Runners-up will still earn Monarch Intel to count toward their special intel meter, whose final reward is a S.C.R.E.A.M. Device.

S.C.R.E.A.M. Device

The Titan S.C.R.E.A.M. Device (Titan Sonic Communication Radar and Echolocation Array Module) is a prototypical device developed by Monarch that lets Operatives unleash the awesome power of Godzilla and Kong in battle.

In Operation Monarch, the S.C.R.E.A.M. Device is a is a Killstreak that grants its user one of two powers from the Titans: a Heat Ray breath from Godzilla or a ground pound from Kong.

Once the attack type is chosen, the Operator can direct it toward anywhere on Caldera. To avoid a barrage of attacks, and to protect the sensory nerves of our Protector Titans, multiple S.C.R.E.A.M. Devices cannot be used in rapid succession.

Like any other Killstreak, timing and location are two major factors to its effectiveness.

This event contains eight challenges — complete all eight to receive a special “Ancient Rivalry” Marksman Rifle Blueprint:

  • Play Operation Monarch for 6 Hours: Reward — Epic “Ancestral Skull” Charm
  • Use a Kong or Godzilla Killstreak Once: Reward — Rare “Ancient Remains” Charm
  • Use a Kong or Godzilla Killstreak Three Times: Reward — Rare “Monarch Eyes Only” Charm
  • Deal 500,000 damage to Titans: Reward — Rare “Concrete Jungle” Sticker
  • Deal 135,000 total damage to Kong in Titan Frenzy Events: Reward — Legendary “Team Godzilla” Emblem
  • Deal 135,000 total damage to Godzilla in Titan Frenzy Events: Reward — Legendary “Team Kong” Emblem
  • Collect 3,000 Monarch Intel: Reward — Epic “Skyline Crasher” Calling Card
  • Place in the Top 15 twelve times in the Operation Monarch Limited-Time Mode: Reward — Epic “One Will Fall” Spray

As for the purchaseable bundles, here’s what you can get from each of them:

  • Tracer Pack: Godzilla Reactive Mastercraft Limited Time Bundle   – The Tracer Pack: Godzilla Reactive Mastercraft Limited Time Bundle contains nine items, including a Legendary “Godzilla Ghillie” Operator Skin for Shigenori and its other marquee item: the Heroic “Breath of Godzilla” Mastercraft Weapon Blueprint.
Outside of shooting cool-blue tracer rounds, the “Breath of Godzilla” can be phenomenal against Kong. Its extended magazines and low recoil help deliver consistent damage over time without too much aim adjustment. Against a target that jumps and stomps around, being able to keep a weapon steady with little effort can be crucial to success during a Titan Frenzy.
The other weapon in this Bundle, the Legendary “Awakened Alpha” LMG, is an overall menace against squads and monsters. Use it within a few dozen meters of your target to get reliable damage output.
  • Tracer Pack: Kong Limited Time Bundle – The Tracer Pack: Kong Limited Time Bundle, which includes a Legendary “Kong” Operator Skin for Wade and other items, is where you will find three Legendary Weapon Blueprints: the “Temple of Kong” Sniper Rifle and “Skull Island Shaker” SMG, both of which shoot jungle green tracers, and “Kong’s Scepter.”
While awesome, “Kong’s Scepter” has limited range and is more recommended to be used against Operators. Whereas the “Temple of Kong” and “Skull Island Shaker” are loaded with extended magazines and built to deal consistent damage to either Titan at a reasonable range.
Specifically, the “Temple of Kong” can be a great weapon against Godzilla. Given that he is off the shoreline, this weapon’s extended range helps an Operator output great damage at a distance. And as a Secondary Weapon via the Overkill Perk, the “Skull Island Shaker” helps keep nearby enemy Operators at bay during Titan Frenzy attacks.
  • Tracer Pack: Mechagodzilla Limited Time Bundle – As much as we love Kong and Godzilla, we know the power of the Destroyer Titans and Apex Cybernetics combined can be enough to deal significant damage to the Protector Titans.
Whether you long for King Ghidorah’s return or just want to use the latest and greatest Apex technology for humanity’s sake, the Tracer Pack: Mechagodzilla Limited Time Bundle has two ranged weapons built for taking on Titans.
Both weapons feature rapid-fire attachments, with the “Cybernetic Destroyer” Assault Rifle able to pierce the thick defenses of Kong and Godzilla at midrange. The “Neural Uplink” SMG favors a bit more close-range action, for those unafraid to step up to beasts that stand over 300 feet tall or full squads that are distracted trying to “befriend” monsters.

Finally, Activision also revealed a couple of tips to help you in clashing with these legends tomorrow:

  • 1. Map Around the Monsters. The Tac Map shows current monster positions, while the minimap shows their area of attack. Check these often, especially during Titan Frenzy events.
  • 2. Scavenge for Intel. The Titan Frenzy event isn’t the only way to earn a S.C.R.E.A.M. Device. Watch out for Intel supply drops, and be sure to open Supply Boxes and scavenge enemy bodies for additional intel, which can add up to Killstreaks, Loadout Drops, and the S.C.R.E.A.M. device.
  • 3. Remember: Resurgence Rules. Being eliminated during Operation Monarch does not necessarily mean death. If your squadmates are down due to enemies or monsters, stay alive until they redeploy.
  • 4. High Capacity, High Damage. Kong and Godzilla may never die, but you better believe that they will take tons of damage from a weapon with a large magazine and damage per second. Consider planning your Loadout for max-damage capacity if your squad is aiming to win a Titan Frenzy… Or look around for some conveniently placed heavy weaponry.
  • 5. Strike, then S.C.R.E.A.M. Participating in Titan Frenzy events is one of the quickest ways to get a S.C.R.E.A.M. Device. Keep targeting either monster to get rewards, and consider saving them until the final circles for maximum damage.

Call of Duty Warzone Operation Monarch arrives on consoles and PC tomorrow. Stay tuned here at MP1st for the complete patch notes once the new update drops!
