NEW TACTICAL GEAR

TACTICAL PACK

Update 16.2 kicks off with a new Tactical Gear, the Tactical Pack! Store almost any type of item and come up with all kinds of wacky play styles with this super backpack; turn into a missile silo with four Panzerfausts, or carry two extra sets of vests and helmets for emergencies, or dominate every combat range with an SMG, AR, and DMR combo! Or even better yet, why not carry four Mountain Bikes (because you can) so you and your squad would never need a vehicle again?

  • The Tactical Pack will:
    • Take up your primary weapon slot.
    • Have four attachment slots.
    • Spawn in every map.
    • Be available in Normal Matches, Custom Games, Training Mode, and Sandbox Mode(PC only).
    • Hold almost any item in its slots, including weapons, helmets, vests, item stacks, etc.
      • Stacks of an item (such as a stack of ammo) will take up a single slot, but a weight limit of 60 per slot applies to stack items only.
      • Weapons holding attachments will be stored as they are.
  • The Tactical Pack will not be able to store another Tactical Pack.
    • The Trunk in Porters cannot store a Tactical Pack.
  • Tactical Pack items are only accessible by the carrier.
    • To use the items, they must first be removed from the Tactical Pack.
  • When a player is holding the Tactical Pack in their hands, the normal looting interaction will be replaced with a new interaction to place the item directly into the Tactical Pack.
  • Weapons stored in the Tactical Pack will hold all their current attachments and ignore the “Replace Attachments” option when swapped out with another weapon.
The “Replace Attachments” option allows you to enable/disable the automatic replacement of compatible attachments when picking up a new weapon.
  • If weapons are loaded before they’re added to the Tactical Pack, they will maintain their loaded state when pulled back out.

SPOTTER SCOPE

And we’re bringing in another! Meet the new mid-range scouting Tactical Gear, the Spotter Scope! This special set of binoculars will help you spy and mark your enemies and enemy Drones while also allowing non-verbal communication with your squad!

  • The Spotter Scope will:
    • Take up your primary weapon slot.
    • Spawn in every map.
    • Be available in Normal Matches, Custom Games, Training Mode, and Sandbox Mode(PC only).
    • Be able to use in ADS mode.
      • The Spotter Scope will have a fixed 4x zoom magnification feature.
      • It will also provide real-time distance to the target you’re aiming at.
    • Allow you to spot and mark enemy players and Drones.
      • Every enemy player and Drone within 1KM of the Spotter Scope’s sight will be marked with a passive marker (white icon).
  • A targeting rectangle is located at the center of the Spotter Scope view.
    • If the user places the targeting rectangle to a marked enemy or Drone the passive marker will turn into an active marker (red icon).
    • The active markers will be automatically shared to the user’s teammates.
    • There is no limit to the number of active markers that can be created.
      • Several enemies can be marked with the active marker at once, with each marker following its respective target.
    • When the Spotter Scope is no longer marking an enemy with an active marker, the active marker will continue to follow its target for 7 more seconds before disappearing.
      • To indefinitely maintain the active marker, the targeting rectangle of the Spotter Scope must continue to chase the enemy.
  • Normal Screen Pings can also be placed while using the Spotter Scope.
  • You will receive an Assist when the enemy you marked is killed by a teammate (only while the enemy has the active marker or within 5 seconds after the active marker disappears).
  • The Spotter Scope will not detect or mark players hiding behind smoke made by Smoke Grenades.
    • However, when an enemy hides behind cover or smoke after getting marked by the active marker by the Spotter Scope, the active marker will still follow them for 7 more seconds before disappearing.

TACTICAL GEAR: DRONE

The consistent color of the lights deployed Drones emit seemed to confuse many of our players, so we’ve changed the lights’ colors to the following:

  • Deployed Ally Drone: Green lights
  • Deployed Enemy Drone: Red lights

TRAINING MODE

AIM/SOUND LAB

Enter the newly-added private Aim/Sound Lab for even better shooting and sound play practice!

  • You can enter this private practice area by interacting with either one of the three helipads in Training Mode.
  • After entry, you will be asked to choose between two modes: aim practice or sound practice.
    • Aim Practice
      • Choose your weapon in the weapon selection window, interact with the start button, and start practicing after a 5-second countdown.
      • Human figure-shaped targets will randomly spawn. The targets will first start out flat on the ground, then 3 to 7 random targets will come up simultaneously for you to shoot.
      • Once a practice session is over, the number of headshots and the total number of hit targets will show up on the screen.
    • Sound Practice
      • You will start out with a basic Deagle and a red dot sight.
      • Various sounds of primary weapons ranging from 15m~300m will be randomly played on targets.
      • Once you shoot the correct target, the target will fall back and come back up right away.
      • You will earn 10 points for shooting the correct target, 5 for the targets on either side of the correct one, and 0 for the rest.
      • The identical gunshot will move between different targets every 5 seconds until the player shoots a target.
      • Your total score will show up on the screen once a practice session is over.
  • Each practice session has a time limit of 1 minute, but you are free to leave the session any time by interacting with the exit button in front of you.

IMPROVED SHOOTING TARGETS

  • Practice on the newly-added human-shaped and vehicle-shaped targets at the Aim/Sound Lab and shooting practice ranges!
  • You can see the different damages you inflict on the target based on the area you hit.
    • Headshot damage on human-shaped targets will be displayed as red.
      • Other body damage such as the torso, arms, legs, etc. will be displayed as white.
    • Damage to the driver’s seat on vehicle-shaped targets will be displayed as red.
      • Other damage such as the wheels and body will be displayed as white.

LAYOUT REARRANGEMENT

The general layout of Training Mode has been shuffled up a bit to accommodate this update’s new features and practice areas.

  • A Vehicle Display Booth displaying the three most recently added vehicles has been added.
  • An Item Display Booth displaying the three most recently added items has been added.
  • A vehicle shooting range with targets moving at the same speed as vehicles has been added.
  • The current warehouse holding the guns and attachments has been removed to enhance the mode’s performance. Use the convenient Training Helper to summon weapons and items anytime, anywhere!
  • Dirt Bikes will now spawn instead of Scooters.
  • Due to the rearrangement of Training Mode, Camp Jackal has been removed from Warmode in Custom Matches.

MODE ENTRY REQUIREMENT

  • To encourage players to begin situational practices in various practice ranges, Training Mode will now also allow entry to players who completed Basic Training only.

MAP SERVICE

As we had already mentioned in our latest Map Service Plan announcement, Sanhok will be replaced with Haven in this update’s rotation for Normal Matches. Prepare to battle newly-added bots, enemy players, and the Pillar in the return of the industrial island, Haven!

  • Normal Match
    • Erangel / Miramar / Taego / Karakin / Haven
  • Ranked Match
    • Erangel / Miramar / Taego

WORLD

FIFTH ANNIVERSARY DECORATION

You’ll be noticing several fifth anniversary decorations at Erangel and Taego in Normal Matches, but we’ll be brief on the fifth anniversary explanation as separate announcements will be telling you more on our upcoming events, perks, and more!

KARAKIN

  • Several landscape updates have been made to balance out the battle experience in Karakin.
    • To provide a safer escape from Al Habar, trees and stone walls have been added around the area.
    • Trees, rocks, and a stone wall have been added to the set of houses located at the upper right of Bashara to reduce the area’s vulnerability.
    • The topography of the mountains surrounding Hadiqa Nemo has been readjusted.
      • A mountain ridge has been added to block enemies’ view.
      • The height of the mountains surrounding the area has been slightly lowered as they’ve been giving a bit too much of an advantage to many players.
      • The mountain’s slope has become a little gentler with a bit more natural cover added as well.
  • Item spawn spots have increased in bunkers near Bahr Sahir and Hadiqa Nemo.
  • Directional alphabet signs such as E for East and X for explosive exit walls have been added to specific walls in Karakin’s bunkers to assist lost players.

HAVEN

  • Bots acting like actual enemy players have been added to Haven.
  • An option to adjust the map’s brightness has been added to Settings.

CARE PACKAGE SMOKE

  • The Colorblind Mode setting will no longer apply to the red smoke from Care Packages due to a new feature to be added in a later update.

ITEM SPAWN BALANCE

We’ve heard your feedback that relatively useful weapons and their appropriate attachments should be spotted more frequently in Normal Match maps. Therefore, we ran thorough internal tests based on the data of our current item spawns and decided it’d be best to adjust the spawn rate of ARs, DMRs, SRs, and scopes in Erangel and Miramar to reduce the frustration players feel when they lose a battle after some unlucky looting.

※ This item spawn rate balance will only apply to Normal Matches.

ERANGEL

  • Assault Rifles (AR) and Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR) spawn rate increased by approximately 62%.
  • Sniper Rifles (SR) spawn rate increased by approximately 145%.
  • Foregrip spawn rate increased by approximately 33%.
  • Scope spawn rate increased by approximately 75%.
  • Stock spawn rate increased by approximately 38%.
  • Magazine spawn rate decreased by approximately 28%.
  • Heal Items and Throwables spawn rate decreased by approximately 13%.
  • Shotguns spawn rate decreased by approximately 27%.
  • Handguns spawn rate decreased by approximately 48%.

MIRAMAR

Due to the widespread distribution of item spawn spots in Miramar, players relatively take a bit more time to loot. Therefore, the spawn rate of weapons and items has generally increased.

  • Assault Rifles (AR) spawn rate increased by approximately 105%.
  • Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR) spawn rate increased by approximately 123%.
  • Sniper Rifles (SR) spawn rate increased by approximately 317%.
  • Foregrip spawn rate increased by approximately 103%.
  • Scope spawn rate increased by approximately 100%.
  • Magazine spawn rate increased by approximately 10%.
  • Muzzle attachments spawn rate increased by approximately 12%.
  • Stock spawn rate increased by approximately 47%.
  • Armor spawn rate increased by approximately 12%.
  • Backpack spawn rate increased by approximately 16%.
  • Helmet spawn rate increased by approximately 20%.

SURVIVOR PASS: PUNK WAVE

We first wish to thank you all for your patience. The next Survivor Pass: Punk Wave has finally arrived (with a better UI appearance too)! Turn into the punkiest star on the Battlegrounds by completing missions and collecting rewards.

We’ve also made some balance adjustments and general UI/UX enhancements for an even better Survivor Pass experience.

  • To differentiate the XP of Survival Mastery/Weapon Mastery with the Survivor Pass XP, the Survivor Pass XP will now be referred as Pass XP.
  • Maximum playtime to earn Pass XP per day: 6 hours → 8 HOURS
  • Maximum Pass XP obtainable per day: 7200 Pass XP → 9600 PASS XP
    • This does not affect the Pass XP rewards obtained from missions.

MAIN LOBBY

  • A special BGM “PUBG 5th Anniversary” has been created and applied to the main lobby – Erangel and Taego won’t be the only ones celebrating our upcoming fifth anniversary!

UI/UX

  • The current icons on the Hideout and Store tabs have been confusing some of our players, so they’ve been modified to deliver a clearer message.
  • Regions with map selection can now find lore-related introductions added to each map in the map select page.
  • (Console) The general design of the hold key icons has been updated.

PERFORMANCE

  • A new compression technology has been implemented to every platform to reduce game size and improve decompression speed.
    • This is expected to help relieve in-game hitches, especially on low-end hardware.
  • Frame rates should be improved thanks to optimizations for render-heavy situations such as navigating cities.

BUG FIXES

GAMEPLAY

  • Fixed the awkward character movement in Replay mode when a player jumps off a Motorbike.
  • Fixed the remaining Drone icon of an ally’s on the minimap in Spectator Mode even after the teammate dropped the Drone.
  • Fixed the missing item issue in the Drone’s inventory after using the Drone to pick up an item.
  • Fixed the invisible Drone issue when deploying a Drone while using an emote.
  • Fixed the awkward tripod issue of the Mk12 when using the weapon while prone.
  • Fixed the white weapon icon of the player’s Drone even after the Drone is destroyed.
  • (PC) Fixed the awkward character appearance of the player using a Drone after handing a weapon to that player through the Sandbox UI, and the black screen issue when the Drone is recalled.
  • (Console) Fixed the notification message popping up during the login loading screen and disappearing less than 5 seconds later.

WORLD

  • Fixed the disappearing rocks issue when entering ADS mode at a certain location in Karakin.
  • Fixed the missing flame effect when throwing a Molotov at destroyable surfaces in Karakin.
  • Fixed the missing siren sound alerting the first Black Zone in Karakin.
  • Fixed collision, texture, performance, and more general issues in Karakin.

UX/UI

  • Removed the Vehicles image from the world map in Training Mode.
  • Fixed the appearance of pans in the Career tab for different level poses after equipping certain equipment skins.
  • Fixed the issue of being able to Lock weapon items that are unable to be disassembled in the Customize tab.
  • (PC) Fixed the bunched-up looked of the Ranked season’s countdown sign.

ITEMS & SKINS

※ Clipping issue: Graphics that are shown outside the visible part of an image/object.

  • Fixed the invisible RYAN’s Slippers issue when equipping the item with a Divemaster Suit.
  • Fixed the clipping issue of the Blood Hound Jacket when using an emote where the character raises their arms.
  • Fixed the missing Partner logo issue when equipping the WackyJacky101’s VSS skin.

The patch is set to go live on March 23 for consoles, so stay tuned here at MP1st for when this latest update becomes available!

(Opinion): Why Nintendo Switch Shouldn’t Worry (Much) About Steam Deck

Since its reveal, the Steam Deck has been dubbed colloquially as a “Nintendo Switch killer,” if just to whet the appetite of console wars between Nintendo and PC fans. And on the surface, Valve’s handheld mini-PC has more than several notable strengths over the Switch: much higher processing power, the flexibility of being a PC which can run other apps and emulator software, and an extensive catalog of games which continues to grow as more developers figure out how to navigate the system’s Proton compatibility layer.

But Nintendo doesn’t need to be concerned about the Steam Deck too much, as it has faced many handheld challengers before; namely, Sega, Sony, and Atari (just to name a few) who all had similar strengths. Yet Nintendo has survived and triumphed over all of them in time. Even if the Steam Deck continues to persist, both devices are meant to solve different problems, and there are more than enough advantages for Nintendo Switch and any future Nintendo handheld to remain relevant.

Steam Deck release date

Both Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch compete in similar areas by virtue of being two consoles meant to be carried on the go, though it wouldn’t be surprising if you were to opt to have either console (or both of them) merely sit safely at home. Each of these consoles cost over $300, with the Steam Deck’s 512GB version costing over twice that at $649. Along with a cellphone and other electronic devices on hand, you can easily be carrying well over a thousand dollars (excluding whatever you have in your wallet, of course).

Beyond competing for your time, money, and space, the Steam Deck also has the upper hand in one notable area which Nintendo should be concerned about: third-party titles. Not only does Steam have a higher frequency of sales – plus, there are other deals like Humble Bundle that package Steam keys for cheap – but the Nintendo Switch struggles to run third-party titles at the same framerate and fidelity compared to the Steam Deck. And in many instances, these are (sometimes buggy) third-party ports which have already been scaled back to accommodate the Switch’s lower specs. Indeed, many Switch titles such as Control Ultimate Edition and Dying Light 2 need to resort to using Switch Cloud Streaming to keep up, whereas the Steam Deck can run those titles natively.

That said, this isn’t the first time Nintendo has had to face competition against other consoles with much better hardware. In fact, they expect it and embrace it. The Nintendo Switch has had to cross swords with Xbox’s and Playstation’s latest consoles, but not in a direct sense. Nintendo has positioned itself as a companion console, as if it were just an extra accessory to purchase alongside one of them. As Gunpei Yokoi, the designer behind many of Nintendo’s key products, has explained, Nintendo has the philosophy of “lateral thinking with withered technology,” choosing to watch other companies compete over the shiniest, most powerful specs while Nintendo provides great gameplay with cheaper, more readily available technology.

By following this philosophy, sales of the Nintendo Switch have reached over 103 million units (so far), more than the Wii during its lifetime, leveraging the console’s affordable price point, accessibility, and overall ease of use. Much of the audience for the Steam Deck are tech-savvy, who likely have considerable Steam libraries and the technical know-how to utilize the console for more than just games. The Nintendo Switch is aimed instead at more casual gamers who don’t want to worry about compatibility issues and early access woes, parents who want to introduce a console to their kids without breaking the bank, and Nintendo fans who want access to its lineup of first-party titles.

Nintendo Switch 13.2.1 Hacked System Update

And therein lies the most important, albeit obvious, point: The Nintendo Switch is, in essence, a pass in the shape of a $300 piece of hardware that grants access to Nintendo’s numerous exclusives, many of which are critically acclaimed, have mass appeal, or typically both. Whether it’s Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Smash Bros., Pokémon, Bayonetta, or Shin Megami Tensei, the Nintendo platform is more than worth the cost of entry. While the Steam Deck isn’t necessary to play any game in particular, the Nintendo Switch is most certainly the opposite.

While both Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch arrive seemingly close to the same point as handheld consoles, they come from vastly different perspectives, and that protects them from each other in the marketplace. Both cater to different clientele for mostly different reasons. The Steam Deck is an open environment where the consumer has vast control over what they can do with the system, whereas the Nintendo Switch is a walled garden that’s bountiful, unhurried, and well-guarded. Nintendo, with its focus on accessibility and high-quality exclusives, can peer from atop the walls of its kingdom at its new Steam Deck neighbors and rest soundly in the knowledge that they can co-exist peacefully, without fear.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Chaos Chamber Details, Trailer Revealed

Gearbox Software has revealed details on Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Chaos Chamber, the endgame content for the upcoming title, in addition to an accompanying trailer! Check out the details on this endgame content below to see what’s in store once you finally reach the pinnacle of the game.

First up is the trailer for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Chaos Chamber, which you can check out below:

As for the details, Gearbox has a rundown also in store for you:

A Chaos Chamber run consists of three randomized dungeon rooms, a mini-boss fight, three more dungeon rooms, and a main boss fight. Players will work through the Chaos Chamber, selecting between two portals after each room to determine what awaits in the next. Additional factors include:

  • Crystals: During the Chaos Chamber run, players can collect and utilize Crystals to earn more rewards. Players can amass Crystals by smashing a crystalline, rainbow-glowing die that spawns after completing a room, and by completing optional side objectives that are randomly assigned to each room;
  • Blessings: By collecting enough Crystals to activate an altar, players can receive Blessings, ranging from increased critical damage or ammo capacity, to melee attack and movement speed buffs, and more;
  • Curses: The polar opposite of Blessings, Curses are debuffs that last the rest of the run and can make it that much harder for players to survive—but with higher risk comes better rewards.

After completing the Chaos Chamber, a chest full of desirable loot for the taking awaits in the Loot of Chaos area. You’ll also earn Moon Orbs, an in-game currency you can spend at an Enchantment Re-roller station to fine-tune your favorite gear. For dedicated loot grinders though, the real Chaos Chamber payout might be hiding in the bellies of the spined, slightly disturbing rabbit statues that will barf up gear when fed enough Crystals.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will launch on March 25, 2022 across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation4, and PC via the Epic Games Store. In case you missed out, you can watch a gameplay walkthrough of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands here.

GTA5 Preload Now Live on PS5 & XSX; New GTA Online Career Builder Detailed

GTA5 preload is now live today on the two new-gen console platforms, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S! If you’ve pre-purchased the game already, this means that you can start downloading the game ahead of time before its release on March 15. Besides this, Rockstar Games also released details on the new GTA Online Career Builder mode that will come with the standalone version, releasing for free on PS5 for 3 months.

We already revealed preload details for GTA5 on PS5 yesterday, and you can check it out for yourself below:

  • Download Size : 86.837 GB (Version : 01.001.000)
  • Pre-Load : March 8
  • Launch : March 15

Here are the details on the new Career Builder for GTA Online:

The Career Builder

As mentioned last week, GTA Online on the newest generation of consoles will feature the Career Builder. This is designed to give new players — or anyone who wants to reset their character and get a fresh start — a helpful leg-up in the criminal world of Southern San Andreas.

With the Career Builder, you’ll enter GTA Online with a business property, a vehicle, and a weapon — with room to add useful upgrades and a little extra GTA$ to begin.

Choose from a selection of the most popular criminal career paths in GTA Online: Biker, Executive, Nightclub Owner, or Gunrunner. From there you’ll receive a GTA$4,000,000 bankroll to put towards acquiring the essentials. Picking one of these four careers will ensure you have a business property and a huge range of missions and gameplay to embark upon immediately — and you can of course expand and dabble in new careers as you progress.

After selecting a career, use your newfound GTA$4M windfall to acquire start-up essentials from across a wide range of properties, vehicles, and weapons. You can select from the basics — a non-upgraded business property, alongside a simple weapon and vehicle combination — or you can opt for business properties complete with upgrades and customizations, high-end vehicles, and enough weapons to fill a Gun Locker. It all depends on how you want to spend your dispensation, and you can bring a maximum of GTA$1,000,000 from this with you into GTA Online.

There you have it. As for pricing if you have not pre-purchased it yet, check out the details on the GTA5 PS5 pricing model here.

GTA5 is releasing on PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles this March 15.

SMITE Update 12.07 Patch Notes; Out for 9.2 Bonus Balance This March 8

Hi-Rez Studios has released the SMITE update 12.07 March 8 patch notes, and this one is for the 9.2 Bonus Balance! Head down below for the complete patch notes.

SMITE Update 12.07 Patch Notes | SMITE March 8 Update Patch Notes | SMITE 9.2 Bonus Balance Patch Notes:

Bonus Balance for SMITE update 12.07 (Live March 8)

Items

These Nerfs should be a significant decrease in damage for Mages, and with the Berserkers Shield rework in the main patch we will see a significant damage reduction from them as well, the two biggest sources of frustration in SMITE right now.

Spear of the Magus
Mages were struggling last season. The 9.1 Update brought some of the biggest buffs the class has seen in a while, with all the core penetration items getting a stat increase. Early flat pen is a huge damage boost, with every point being significantly stronger than Magical Power would be. For this reason we feel comfortable fine-tuning the numbers even more. These items won’t provide stats at a clear increment of 5, but this unique in-between should bring the class down in early damage without going all the way back to the problem areas of last year.
  • Decreased Magical Penetration from 15 to 12

Divine Ruin
  • Decreased Magical Penetration from 15 to 12

Spear of Desolation
  • Decreased Magical Penetration from 15 to 12

Celestial Legion Helm
Another nerf for Mages is coming through this hybrid item that gives them a better fight against Junglers, especially in the early game. We want Mages to have some opportunity to itemize into different directions based on the situation, but the recent Power buff to this item is proving to be slightly too much, so we are toning it back to a number in between the current and the previous state.
  • Decreased Magical Power from 90 to 80

Seer of the Jungle
Wards win games! Thus, being able to take out wards is an even more powerful way to win the game. This item has become the number one Jungle item, and for good reason. The passive has an internal cooldown which can lead to some clunky situations, so we are removing this while also nerfing that stats to keep other Jungle Starters in close competition with Seer.
  • Decrease Physical Power from 70 to 65
  • Decrease Magical Power from 105 to 95
  • Decreased Attack Speed from 30% to 25%
  • Remove internal cooldown of 15s

Belt of the Berserker
This Relic has seen a huge increase in purchase rate, especially at high skill tiers. Frenzy Relics have been quite powerful over the years even though they were mostly viewed as a more fringe strategy. Now that players have finally seen the light we are nerfing the more powerful of the two Relics in this tree.
  • Decreased Initial Damage Buff from 30% to 25%
  • Decreased Initial Attack Speed Buff from 50% to 40%
Gods
Zeus
What year is it?! Zeus needs a nerf. His most recent buff to give him Attack Speed and Movement Speed had a huge impact on this god, skyrocketing him from meme god to an actual SPL first pick! We are very happy with the gameplay feel and well-rounded combat he received from this recent buff, so we will be nerfing other parts of his kit instead. Zeus has historically had huge burst damage, which he now relies on less. Detonates base damage is coming down at all ranks to tone down the god of gods.

Detonate Charge
  • Decreased Base Damage from 60/90/120/150/180 to 50/80/110/140/170
    • Through the 1.7 and 2.4x multiplier this has the following effects on Detonate at 2 and 3 stacks:
      • Decreased from 102/153/204/255/306 to 85/136/187/238/289 at 2 stacks
      • Decreased from 144/216/288/360/432 to 120/192/264/336/408 at 3 stacks
Sol
This Mage ADC continues to put up huge numbers in ranked win rate, while also being a top pick and ban. Sol can provide a huge amount of pressure through her basic attacks, which get a significant boost in damage through her passive. This passive ramps up but also provides a huge bonus when maxed out, and this is the aspect we have chosen to bring down. This will smooth out her power curve and bring down her top end damage, especially against towers and jungle bosses.

Unstable Manifestation
  • Unstable Manifestation
    • Decreased the buff on Sol’s basic attacks while at max Heat from +20% Damage to +15% Damage
Izanami
The insta clear hunter is certainly performing well in this new season with new early game objectives. Izanami is seeing more pro play than ever, with a focus on the early pressure she can provide. To nerf this from level 1 we are decreasing her base Power and Attack Speed, which will have a subtle effect but should slow her down.

General
  • Decreased Base Physical Power from 36 to 34
  • Decreased Base Attack Speed from 0.95 to 0.92
Shiva
There have been enough destroyer jokes on social media to write 100 patch notes with, but the sentiment is accurate and Shiva is destroying the competition. Shiva has a huge amount of flexibility that makes him potentially viable in multiple different roles. We are hitting both his survivability as well as his scaling damage to keep him flexible while bringing him down in overall potency.

Emblazoned Sweep
  • Decreased Physical Power Scaling from 60% to 55% on the initial hit

Shiva Tandava
  • Decreased Physical Power Scaling from 50% to 45% to the Destruction Dance per hit
    • Which also decreases scaling from 25% to 22.5% on the Amplification Dance per hit

Pillar of Dawn
  • Decreased Damage Mitigation from 40% to 30%
Gilgamesh
The King is far from dead. Gilgamesh continues to be a top Jungler, and is receiving damage scaling nerfs to address it. We are starting to see the possibility of this god back in the Solo Lane, which is very exciting. Hopefully pushing him out of the jungle through damage nerfs will let his utility still shine from other roles.

Hero’s Advance
  • Decreased Physical Power Scaling from 50% to 40%

Winds of Shamash
  • Decreased Physical Power Scaling from 50% to 40%
Bastet
How many lives are we on? Bastet has been nerfed a few times now, each time with noticeable results. Her new found utility is making her historically large burst damage feel clearly overtuned, much like Zeus. We are applying a significantly large damage nerf to this goddess which should put her in a better spot.

Pounce
  • Decreased Base Damage from 80/145/210/275/340 to 80/135/190/245/300
  • Decrease Physical Power Scaling from 100% to 90%
Fenrir
The best Assassin Support continued to be a top pick in competitive play into the new season. His Ultimate provides a huge amount of survivability as well as a powerful and long form of crowd control. We are changing the protection boost from a multiplier to flat which will decrease the utility he gets from building full tank, and we are also decreasing the duration that he can be in his Ult form as well as the length of the CC. We will keep a close look at this god and potentially introduce more buffs in the future to move him back toward being a Jungler.

Ragnarok
  • Decreased the duration of this ability from 5s to 4s
  • Decreased the time that Fenrir can hold an enemy after biting them from 2s to 1.75s
    • This applies for its full length after the initial duration, even if fenrir grabs someone at the last second
  • Now Gives 20/30/40/50/60 Magical and Physical Protections instead of 2x Protections
New Skin Voice Actors
  • Haunted king Thor: Brian T Delaney
  • Corrupted Kenshi Mulan: Ivy Kay
  • Baked Perfection Awilix: Shara Kirby
  • Molten Doom Kuzenbo: Emmanuel Chumaceiro

That’s about it for the patch notes for SMITE update 12.07.

PROJECT SAINT

EXPERIMENTAL Feature: Human Backfill

This feature is design to allow players to join matches that are in progress, allowing players to Save The Day whenever matches have players who leave midway through a match. Players who join such matches will be reward the maximum amount of reputation and experience that could be achieved in the full match, ensuring that your time is rewarded. With this feature, we hope to address uneven matches that tend to happen for our players.

That being said, this feature is experimental. We’ve worked diligently to build up this feature and, to ensure quality, we are wanting to put it out into the wild under observation and in a controlled environment outside of our internal testing. What that will mean is that at the start of this update, Human Backfill will only be active for our casual Demolition queue in the first hour or so. Over that first day, we will slowly enable it for other game modes and see how it ramps up. As you potentially encounter this feature in the wild, we hope to hear more feedback in how it improves the health of matches in your day-to-day sessions.

MORE MAPS

We have added Meltdown, Palace and Skyfell to our core TDM game mode. This will bring the TDM map pool up to 13. However, we are aware that this leaves out The Arena and Glacier from the rotation. At this time those maps do not satisfy the level of enjoyment we set for 6v6 TDM but we hope to potentially find solutions to that problem in the future. Your patience is appreciated and your feedback is always valuable.

ROGUE REINFORCEMENT – TEAM SIZE INCREASED TO 6

In this update, we are adding a much-requested feature: you may now queue with up to 6 friends for our 6v6 game modes. This will be available on all platforms except the Nintendo Switch due to game mode size restrictions.

SAFE IN THE SKY

In many of our game modes, our players are jumping head/feet first into a hot zone. We found that those players who linger in the drop-ships a bit too long run the risk of getting downed will still deciding what perk to buy. We introduced a change that protects our players while they are inside of the Chimera or the Manticore. That being said, we are also making sure that you do not linger for too long. You’ll need to jump into the fight sooner rather than later!

BANS ON NOTICE

As with any game, we are sure that our players have encountered unsavory, toxic and/or just outright unfair players. While we have long had a Report feature, our players would often ask us if reporting a player was meaningful. In this update, we will notify you when action has been taken against reported players. Keep up the good fight in making our community the best it can be!

  • NEW Level 3 upgrade: Increases scoped movement speed and headshot damage

Tyr

  • Level 3 upgrade Damage Falloff removed
  • NEW Level 3 upgrade: Reduces recoil and increases headshot damage.

KA30

  • Increased fire rate
  • We hit the KA30 a few patches in a row in an attempt to push it further towards a more wild, hard to control, but high damage style. This is a buff to help bring it closer to it’s new identity and balance out some of the other nerfs the weapon has recently seen.

Sahara

  • Decreased Fire rate slightly
  • Increased Bloom slightly
  • We like the hefty feel the Sahara brings to the mid-range AR’s, but felt it was a bit too accurate for the wicked good damage it deals. Tweaks to the fire rate and bloom of the weapon, while retaining it’s damage profile, will hopefully bring it a bit more in line.

Arbitrator

  • Level 3 Upgrade now provides less range
  • Spread increased
  • Fire rate upgrade now provides less fire rate

SKL6

  • Level 2 Upgrade now provides less range

Hydra

  • Level 3 upgrade now provides less range
  • The Hydra’s third upgrade was providing too much range for what is typical of an AR range upgrade. This will help reduce the range the weapon can achieve a 4 bodyshot kill.

SLC

  • Decreased Fire Rate
  • Increased Bodyshot damage 12>13
  • Increased Headshot damage 18>19
  • The SLC has fallen a bit behind the curve against some of the other SMGs. These changes work out to be a solid TTK buff to the weapon, while at the same time making it a bit easier to control. The SLC has one of the most aggressive recoil patterns in the game, so we want it to have an aggressive TTK to make it rewarding to players who can tame the beast.

LMPX

  • Increased Headshot damage at all ranges
  • Slightly reduced fire rate
  • These changes will help push the LMPX more towards its role as a “headshot optimal” SMG. The slight fire rate reduction puts its bodyshot ttk in the back of the pack, while the headshot damage makes its headshot ttk best in class, at all ranges. A reduced fire rate also makes the weapon a bit easier to control, allowing you to hit heads easier.

D3Di

  • Decreased headshot falloff damage at mid & long range
  • This will allow you to carry the two-tap headshot kill at further ranges
  • Decreased headshot falloff damage at long range
  • This will allow you to three-tap headshot armored targets at further ranges
  • Increased Bodyshot damage at mid range
  • This will allow you to carry the three-tap bodyshot kill a bit further out

MXR

  • Decreased bodyshot falloff damage at mid & long range
  • This will allow you to carry your four-tap bodyshot kill at all ranges

Combat Knife

Level 2 upgrade now provides more swing speed
That’s not a knife, THIS is a knife!

ROGUES

Dima

  • Now has tenacity instead of Bounce Back
  • The master of explosives should be a little bit more resilient to them, dontcha think? Losing a source of healing hurts but we think surviving explosives on Dima can be very valuable as well. Dima’s launcher is a bit more wild in nature than something like Switchblade or even Kestrel’s drones, sometimes not even Dima knows where the launcher might hit! We’re working on better targeting feedback for all of our launchers, and we hope tenacity will be a welcome substitution for all our long time Dima mains out there!

Switchblade

  • Now has stalker instead of tenacity
  • We’re looking to reduce switchblades tankiness, seeing as she has both life drain and bounce back to make sure she’s often at or near full health, we think she can afford to lose tenacity. This will help further reduce the viability of shooting your launcher too close to your feet, ensuring you always take as much damage as you’re dealing at that moment to your enemies. That’s gameplay we don’t necessarily want to reward! Stalker also has a nice synergy with Switchblade’s passive, allowing her to benefit more from her increased movespeed while aiming.

Runway

  • Can now use her ability while riding a zipline

Glimpse

  • Can now use her ability while riding a zipline

Gl1tch

  • Gl1tch’s ability range is now global
  • Gl1tch can no longer pull out his hacking device while the ability is used or on cooldown.
  • Gl1tch was designed to be a breacher that destroys all enemy defenses, and prevents them from placing new ones for a duration, giving his team an opportunity to strike. However, as the game matured we started to see some emergent gameplay, which is good! Unfortunately that emergent gameplay eclipsed the intended behavior of his original design. We saw Gl1tch being used more as a flanker, with the help of padded steps, merely using the hacker’s scanning capabilities to sleuth around the map gathering positional information. These changes will help push him toward his intended gameplay style.

GADGETS

Pop Smoke

  • Can now be used while riding a zipline

GAME MODES

Battle Zone

  • New cloaked state of mythic crates before they are active

Team Death Match

  • Added Skyfell, Palace and Meltdown

King of the Hil

  • Hill time changed from 60 to 75 seconds
  • Number of hill moves changed from 10 to 8

We’ll update this post if there are any more patch notes revealed.

Rumor: Future WWE Games Could be Made by EA if WWE 2K22 Fails

There have been reports that WWE games might be made by Electronic Arts (EA) in the near future. This all depends on the success of WWE 2K22 releasing this month.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Take-Two Interactive might be ending its relationship with WWE very soon. WWE is interested in taking its license over to EA when the current contract with 2K Sports expires this year. You can read the report posted down below.

“Multiple sources have stated that WWE has had preliminary discussions with Electronic Arts (EA) about bringing the WWE Games line over to one of the top gaming publishers in the world.”

The current contract with 2K Sports was signed in 2016 and is set to expire in 2022. A contract extension is to be signed depending on the success of WWE 2K22. WWE 2K22 is finally releasing this year after seeing many delays.

WWE has been upset with 2K Sports ever since the failure of WWE 2K20. The game was so bad, it caused WWE 2K21 to be canceled. The relationship with 2K Sports was further strained when 2K22 was delayed as the game was originally coming out in Fall 2021.

WWE 2K22 releases March 11, 2022, for the PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One platforms. Be on the lookout for our review of the game very soon.

Elex 2 Update 1.03 Patch Notes | Elex 2 Update 1.003 Patch Notes | Elex 2 March 8 Update Patch Notes:

Here are the changes according to the PlayStation 4 update history:

  • * Fixed screen tearing

We’ll update this post if there are any more notes to be revealed.

Update: Here are the additional patch notes as revealed via the official Discord:

Patch notes are as follows –

  • * Fixed problems with certain graphic cards (especially VEGA chipsets)
  • * Fixed some screen tearing problems * Reduced mesh size
  • * Increased mesh cache size
  • * Fixed a bug where mesh cache got fragmented over time
  • * Fixed a bug in controller support
  • * Fixed various smaller bugs
  • We also released a patch on Playstation 4 and 5 that fixes the screen tearing

In the meantime, check out our review for Elex 2 here, where Tim wrote, “I have had a harder time deciding on a review rating for Elex 2 than I have had for any game I have reviewed so far. It had probably the poorest start to a game I’ve seen in a while, but if you can get past it, I think RPG fans will really enjoy what’s there. But truth be told, I don’t know how much it will convince anyone who isn’t a fan of the genre. I am disappointed that this game is coming out in such a crowded time because I think it deserves some of the attention that is going elsewhere right now. Hopefully people to whom the game will appeal don’t miss out, and I really hope that THQ Nordic authorizes another sequel because I can tell you that I would love to dive back in Jax’s shoes.”
