Warframe The New War Features & Customizations Outlined; Act One Teaser Released

Following the unveiling of its cinematic trailer a few days ago, Digital Extremes has revealed more information on Warframe The New War features and customizations. In addition to this, a teaser for the expansion’s Act One has also been unveiled, and you can check all of it out below:

Here are some of the key features coming to Warframe The New War:

New Playable Characters in Act I

The Origin System is in need of new warriors to band together to fight back against the invading Sentient threat. Players will experience the first part of The New War from different perspectives and take control of iconic enemies including Kahl-175 the Grineer, Veso the Corpus Tech, and the Dax: Teshin, as they fight across the Origin System to push back the invading Sentient force.  While the war rages on, so will the fight for the truth behind the conflict – understanding the Lotus’ past to unlock a new future.

New Warframe – Caliban

Erra’s twisted masterpiece, a true hybrid of Warframe and Sentient. Raised from the wreckage of the Old War to carve a swathe through the New. Caliban is Warframe’s 48th unique playable Warframe and will be added to the game on all platforms on December 15 when The New War launches. A Sentient-Warframe hybrid, Caliban has a passive Ability to resist damage types as he continues to take hits (for himself and his squadmates). Caliban was first revealed during TennoCon 2021’s Art of Warframe digital panel.

  • Passive Ability: Adaptive Armor – Allies within Affinity range gain increased resistance to the types of damage they are currently taking.
  • Razor Gyre – Become a spinning vortex of death. Hold Fire to accelerate the maelstrom, increasing damage, then target an enemy to dash toward them. Hitting enemies inflicted with Sentidnt Wrath creates a destructive blast.
  • Sentient Wrath – Smash the ground sending out a wave of destruction. Those not killed by the initial blast are helplessly lifted into the air where they continue to suffer damage for a short time.
  • Lethal Progeny – Call on Caliban’s Sentient aspect to produce up to three Conculyst comrades to fight by his side, and repair shields when not in combat.
  • Fusion Strike – Converge three streams of raw energy upon a single point, causing a massive reactive blast. The fallout from the blast will strip the armor from all enemies that touch it.

Harrow Prime Access

Harrow Prime Access will launch on December 15 alongside The New War and for a limited-time, players can instantly unlock or earn Harrow Prime and his signature Weapons and Accessories. Always prepared to sacrifice, this monastic Warframe uses the Void to bolster allies’ defenses and amplify their lethality.

  • Scourge Prime – Smite the unrighteous with Harrow Prime’s signature speargun
  • Knell Prime – Ring a funeral toll upon enemy skulls with Harrow Prime’s signature pistol
  • Prime Accessories
    • Nave Prime Syandana: Invest Harrow Prime with this golden Syandana of holy office
    • Templar Prime Suit: The dress uniform worn with pride by Harrow’s faithful legions

Warframe The New War will be releasing on December 15 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Apex Legends Update 1.84 Patch Notes; Out for Raiders Collection Event This Dec. 7

Respawn Entertainment has released the Apex Legends update 1.84 patch this December 7, and this is for the Raiders Collection Event that goes live today. Read up on the complete patch notes for today’s event and gameplay-related changes below.

Apex Legends Update 1.84 Patch Notes | Apex Legends Raiders Collection Event Patch Notes:

LEGENDS

  • Wattson: Fixed the issue with fences “sticking” when trying to place a node near a fence.
  • Wattson: Fixed bug for cases where Wattson’s Fence nodes ignored player collision.
  • Wattson: Fixed bug with the blueprint line not showing up to signify where the fence will be created.
  • Wattson: Fixed issue where Caustic’s Ultimate isn’t zapped by the Interception Pylon.
  • Wattson: Fixed bug where Arc Stars could stick to and damage the Interception Pylon
  • Ash: Based on feedback we’ve increased the audio presence of Ash’s Ultimate.
  • Ash will no longer “bleed” when shot and now displays sparks [like Pathfinder and Revenant].
  • Ash: fixed cases where a grid pattern would show on some rare and common skins.
  • Valkyrie / Revenant: Fixed a bug where using a Skydive with Death Totem at a specific time caused Valkyrie’s skydive to enter a bugged state.
  • Valkyrie: Fix for Birthright Skin where Valk’s jetpack control clips into her hands in first person.

ARENAS

  • Arenas: Fixed bug where Seer could continuously charge his tactical after it’s reached zero uses.
  • Arenas: Reduced reconnect times since the matches are shorter than a Battle Royale match.
  • Arenas: Fix for missing ammo UI on the common, rare, or epic, CAR.
  • Arenas: Fix for missing horizontal black bars while spectating.
  • Arenas: Fix for cases where the Death Tab is missing from the shop window.

ADDITIONAL BUG FIXES

  • Fixed issue with a spot on Storm Point where players could camp in unintended areas near Command Center.
  • We also addressed multiple minor bugs around the map ranging from misplaced kill triggers and holes in geo.
  • Bocek Compound Fracture Legendary skin bug: Fixed an issue where players would still see iron sights when aiming even if another sight is equipped.
  • R-301 Dynastic Cycle Legendary skin bug: Fixed an issue with the gun using a mix of two different skins.
  • Fixed bug for cases where the Loba Edition displays “No Price Found” when viewed in the store tab.
  • Based on feedback we’ve reduced the SFX on reactive skins for the Volt.
  • Fixed bug where players were unable to scroll downwards when looting a death box or black market.
  • Fixed bug that was preventing players from getting Rampart’s Heirloom even after buying all 24 event packs.
  • Fixed bug where players could skydive faster after spamming Ping.
  • Fixed issue with players seeing the 888 Elite Mode Badge constantly unlocking.
  • Fixed bug where dive trails were not rewarded properly.

BALANCE CHANGES

Seer

  • Decreased Focus of Attention detonation delay from 1.6s to 1.4s

Dev Note

Seer was dialed back to a healthier spot with the balance hotfix soon after his release. However, after four months of evaluating his use in the live game, the detonation delay seems a little too sluggish. We want to improve its feel while continuing to evaluate the reveal meta as a whole.

Arc Star

Sticks

  • Base stick damage lowered from 30 -> 10
  • Shield Damage Multiplier increased from x3 -> x4 (stick on shielded enemy will now max out at 40 instead of 90)
  • Sticking an enemy now applies a slow debuff (reverting Legacy update change)

Non-Sticks

  • Slow duration is now driven by distance to the center of Arc Star detonation

Dev Note

Arc stars excel in a lot of areas. They have high damage potential coupled with a punishing slow, and can be thrown more accurately than other ordnance types. Removing the stick slow created some degenerate play patterns and often made it hard to tell when you got stuck in the heat of battle. We’re bringing that back with a tradeoff of lower damage potential and a proximity based slow falloff in non-stick cases. These changes make stick scenarios more consistent across shield types and make arc stars less effective at area denial.

Splatter Rounds

  • Removed increased magazine capacity

Dev Note

Big Maude has been an awesome drop location and a reliable source of early power for teams that win the hotdrop. However, the paintball weapons are proving to be a little too strong so we’re going to remove the increased mag size but keep the handling improvements.

Crafting

  • Shotgun ammo, sniper ammo, and arrow crafting output reduced to a single stack

PRIVATE MATCH

  • Observer Mode – UI and Scoring Improvements for in-game stats menu.
  • Observer Mode – Reduced opacity on Loba’s Back Market for map & mini-map.
  • Observer Mode – Added toggle option to show next ring location.
  • Added [Team] Eliminated text in kill feed for Private Match Anonymous mode.
  • Admins now have the ability to end matches in either Observer or Player positions.
  • Fixed issue for real time API delay after running consecutive games.
  • New real time API events including:
    • Shots fired
    • Kill awarded
    • Line by line formatting
    • Unique player IDs

QUALITY OF LIFE

New Custom Reticle Color System

Custom Reticles are here! The new UI can be opened under Gameplay Settings by selecting the Customize option under Reticle.

Once in the new Custom Reticle UI you’ll be able to:

  • Select a color from some of our recommended favorites
  • Use the color and brightness sliders to find that perfect color
  • Manually enter an RGB color
  • Toggle between 4 different hand picked environments to preview your reticle

Dev Note

You’ll be able to pick from a lot of colors in the new system, but darker colors won’t be selectable because of how some of our reticles react to the world (additive effect) which would make them invisible. If a manually entered RGB value is in that range, we will do our best to keep that hue but will bring that value closer to a safe color.

In other Apex Legends news, Game Director Chad Grenier has posted a letter to the community as part of his announcement that he will be departing Respawn after 11 years with the studio.

If you’re having issues connecting online or playing games on the PlayStation Network (PSN), it might not be your internet, as PSN down reports have surfaced this December 7.

Update (12/15/21): If you’re being routed to this post, PSN is down again this December 15 it seems. Check out updates about it here.

PSN Down Status This December 7:

Over on Downdetector, a spike can be seen of people reporting that PSN Is down:

Image

Over on the PS4 subreddit, a thread has surfaced of people stating that PSN is down for them:

Are the Playstation Servers under maintenance?
by inPS4

Currently, Sony’s Ask PlayStation Twitter which handles announcements for these server downtimes has not shared anything about it Also, what’s interesting here is, there’s not a lot of reports that the PlayStation Network is down, so this could be an isolated incident in a particular state, region, etc. If PSN is down for you, let us know where you’re located, so we have an idea on where the service is running into issues.

We’ll be monitoring the situation and will update the post once we know more info about it.

Destiny 2 Update 1.030 Released for 30th Anniversary Update 3.4.0 This Dec. 7

Bungie has released the Destiny 2 update 1.030 patch this December 7, which is for the game’s 30th Anniversary update. The title update is available on both last-gen and next-gen consoles, and includes a long list of gameplay-related changes, tweaks to classes and more.

Destiny 2 Update 1.030 Patch Notes | Destiny 2 30th Anniversary Patch Notes:

ACTIVITIES

CRUCIBLE

  • Currency rewards lockout at three, five, and seven wins no longer clear on ticket resets.
  • Added a playlist tooltip to indicate that Cross Play must be enabled to access Trials.
  • Trials passages now display a warning message if the player account owns a seven-win ticket.
  • Added Third Person Camera Restricted tooltip and load screen hint to Trials, Elimination, and Showdown.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Dead Cliffs map from loading correctly in Glory playlists.
  • Removed Anomaly and The Dead Cliffs from Momentum Control rotation.
  • Fixed missing string for Legendary Valor Triumph and corrected number of times that it requires reaching the Crucible Rank of “Legend.”
  • Crucible bounties for zone capture now apply to all Crucible modes.
  • Rusted Lands: Fixed an issue where dynamic objects, like barrels or bricks with physics and hive exploding objects, were missing from this map.

LOST SECTORS

  • Improvements:
      • Adjusted the music in Legend and Master Lost Sectors to scale as lives and time begin to run out.
      • The “Darkness Zone” tendrils and sound will now play when players run out of revives in Legend and Master Lost Sectors, and in Grandmaster Nightfalls.
      • Players will now see a “No Revives Remaining” warning when out of revives in Legend and Master Lost Sectors, or in Grandmaster Nightfalls.
      • Players will no longer see “Revives: +0” when defeating Champions after the time limits have passed in Legend and Master Lost Sectors, or in Grandmaster Nightfalls.
  • Fixes:
      • Fixed an issue where the post-game completion screen for Legend and Master Lost Sectors didn’t show any stats.
      • The Empty Tank Lost Sector on Tangled Shore now rewards the correct Exotics gear, in line with the other Lost Sectors’ reward rotation.
      • Excavation Site XII: Fixed an issue where the barrier at the entrance in Legend and Master difficulty had a gap that allowed players to go outside of the Lost Sector. This Lost Sector will enter active rotation again in a future season.
      • Added an energy barrier to the Scavenger’s Den Lost Sector on EDZ, when playing on Legend or Master difficulty, to prevent skipping most of the encounters in the Lost Sector. This Lost Sector will enter active rotation again in a future season.

STRIKES

  • The Corrupted:
      • To reduce the overall length of the strike and make it less painful after hard wipes in the elevator encounter, we have removed the Taken combatants in the dark Ascendant Plane hallway leading up to the elevator.
      • If a fireteam hard wipes during the final phase of the boss fight in the Ascendant Realm, when they respawn, the portal to the Ascendant Realm will take them straight to Phase 2, instead of making them replay the platforming section between Phase 1 and Phase 2.
      • When a fireteam arrives at the platforming area before the boss fight in The Adytum, any fireteam members or Ghosts left behind in earlier parts of the strike will now be teleported forward to join their fireteam.
      • When players begin the elevator encounter, any straggler players or their Ghosts will be pulled forward to join their fireteam.
      • Fixed an issue where Sedia’s shields would regenerate faster than expected on Nightfall difficulties. Her shields now regenerate based on health threshold in Nightfalls, just like they do in Direct Launch or the Vanguard playlist.
      • The portal to the Ascendant Realm after Phase 1 of the boss fight should now reliably place players facing the correct direction.
      • Fixed an issue that was preventing the combatants from walking to part of the right-side area during the first half of the boss-fight. Psions should now spread out a little bit more on that right platform.
      • Fixed an issue where a Taken Acolyte would spawn  within the floating platform area before the boss fight, and immediately fall to its death before ever really getting to live.
      • Fixed an issue where, in certain conditions, the relic would despawn and never respawn during the boss phase.
      • Fixed a cosmetic issue where the relic spawners during the boss phase would spin before the relic was spawned.
  • The Inverted Spire:
      • Fixed an issue where a player’s Ghost would appear too far back in the strike upon death near the drill area. The Ghosts now appear at set safe locations in the drill area.
  • The Scarlet Keep:
      • Fixed an issue where the crystal to continue the strike would be permanently invincible if players got to the wizard at the first stop of the elevator and killed it before the crystal could spawn.
      • Strikes: Fixed an issue where the catchup version of Grandmaster Hollowed Lair had different modifiers than the weekly featured version.

FREEROAM

  • Fixed an issue where a wall of Taken miasma could appear in a doorway in Rheasilvia during Freeroam, when it shouldn’t be there.

RAIDS

  • Fixed an issue in the Last Wish raid that for some fireteams caused the final encounter to not start properly, causing unavoidable failure.
      • Queenswalk Escape: When players picked up Riven’s Heart, there was an issue where the encounter wouldn’t start, resulting in no enemies spawning and immediate teleportation into the inside of the Heart.

UI/UX

TEXT CHAT

  • Players on Xbox, PlayStation, and Stadia platforms can now opt into seeing text chat messages within various chat channels.
      • Updated terminology for text chat settings on these platforms to reflect functionality available.
  • Expanded Whisper chat settings for all platforms.
      • Added increased granularity to filter who may send you Whisper chat messages.
  • Added the option to remap the “Show / Hide Text Chat” button on PC.
      • This is mapped to the L key by default but the option to remap this was not exposed.
      • Settings > Text Chat > Keybindings > UI > CUI option was removed for binding a keyboard button to Show / Hide Text Chat.
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing use of Korean IME input on Windows.

STASIS VENDOR

  • Fixed an issue where Stasis Aspect quests were not consistently shown on the Stasis vendor until after the player has acquired their second Stasis Aspect.
      • Additional text has been added to locked quests describing how to unlock each, respectively.

STASIS SUBCLASS SCREEN

  • Fixed various issues where the pips for Aspects and Fragments would sometimes show an inaccurate counter.
      • The pips counter displays based on the page of the socket trays last inspected.
      • The pips under the socket slots display counts the empty socket.
      • In the Stasis subclass screen, the number of pips for aspects and fragments is one less than the total.

BOOTFLOW

  • Cross Save Information Screen
      • Updated the visuals for the Cross Save screen to align with the style of the Cross Play screen introduced with the launch of Cross Play in Season 15.
  • Windows Store Settings Screen
      • Updated the Settings screen to allow new players on Windows Store to set text chat preferences to match those available to new players on Steam.

ROSTER

  • Fixed an issue on PC platforms where players could experience FPS drops in various situations where the Roster was updating more often than intended.
      • The largest FPS drops were seen in the Roster, Tower, and while in Orbit.
  • Fixed an issue where max-length Bungie Names could wrap onto a second line and obscure other UI elements in some Roster tooltips.
  • Reduced the width of the friction area on the Social Preferences tab when using a controller.
  • Fixed an issue where Roster contacts could appear as blank entries while waiting for all relevant data to load before showing any content.
  • Updated the icon for Social Preferences set to “Public” to distinguish the setting from the “Joinable Fireteam” icon to avoid confusion.
  • Fixed an issue where a player could appear Offline but also showed as joinable in some cases.
  • Fixed an issue where players may not receive an error notification if they accept a fireteam invite but fail to join successfully.
      • Sending a fireteam Invite then setting Social Preferences to Closed will result in no error message pop-up when a player accepts the fireteam invite.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Invite to Fireteam” button was hidden if the local fireteam privacy was set to “Closed.”
  • Fixed an issue where pending invites from offline players could show a circle icon when the platform is unknown.
  • Fixed an issue where blocked players did not consistently appear with a blocked icon on Roster screens.
  • Fixed an issue on Steam where some platform icons could default to a generic platform icon, most notably with Steam not showing a PlayStation player’s icon.
  • Updated text on Windows Store for various tooltips where terminology was overly generic.

Destiny 2 Update 2.36 Patch Notes | Destiny 2 Update 3.4.0 Patch Notes | Destiny 2 30th Anniversary Update Patch Notes:

ACTIVITIES

UI/UX

TEXT CHAT

      • Updated terminology for text chat settings on these platforms to reflect functionality available.

Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy Standalone Versions Delisted From PlayStation Store

If you’re aiming to purchase last generation’s Uncharted games you’re out of luck, as Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy’s standalone versions have been delisted from the PlayStation Store — with only the bundle containing both games the only one available for purchase.

The news comes just after the announcement of the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for PS5 — which will contain remasters of both Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Both games are critically acclaimed and best sellers, and the delisting is probably Naughty Dog’s way of preparing for the new version’s release and offering it at full price — as those who already own both versions of the game for PS4 can upgrade to the PS5 remaster for $10.

Here’s the description of the new collection from Naughty Dog themselves.

This brand-new remastered bundle includes UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End, featuring Nathan Drake as he hunts for Captain Avery’s long-lost treasure, setting off for one final far flung adventure across the jungles of Madagascar to long lost pirate colony of Libertalia. It also includes UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy, which chronicles Chloe Frazer’s breakout exploits as she moves from frenemy to hero. Enlisting the assistance of renowned mercenary Nadine Ross, Chloe ventures to India’s Western Ghats to locate the Golden Tusk of Ganesh.

You can read the rest of the details for the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection here. The set will be priced at $49.99 and will be released for PS5 on January 28, 2022.

Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection PS5 Release Date & Other Details Revealed

Nathan Drake is set to revisit his adventures on the PS5, and now Sony has revealed the release date and more details on the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection coming to the platform, including its pricing and improvements. In addition to these, a new trailer has also been shown to announce that the game is now live for pre-order ahead of its January 28, 2022 release.

You can check  out the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection PS5 pre-order trailer below:

Here are some of the improvements players can expect once the game comes out on the PlayStation 5:

Graphics

First off, graphic updates. Here’s a look at the options players can select from:

  • Fidelity Mode – For those of you who have a 4K display and want super sharp resolution above all else to enjoy the stunning environments and details the Uncharted series is known for, select Fidelity Mode and play in native 4K resolution with a 30fps target framerate.
  • Performance Mode – We carried over the high framerate PS4 patch with Performance Mode, which targets a 60fps frame rate.
  • Performance+ Mode – If you’re all about the smoothest gameplay possible and don’t mind a resolution drop, try out our first ever Performance+ Mode which targets 120fps* at a 1080p resolution.

Features

Thanks to the power of the PS5 console, the load time is near instant so you can jump into the action faster than Nate or Chloe can draw their weapons (which, if you’ve seen Chloe take on a band of mercenaries before, is pretty fast). Enjoy Spatial 3D Audio* and know where the shots are coming from and immerse yourself in the ambience of the locations across both games. With the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, we’ve fine-tuned the rumble and resistance here: feeling the 4×4 vehicles roll along in your hands or landing a punch and then rope swinging to safety has never been so rewarding.

Pricing and Upgrades

Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection PS5 release date

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will be available physically and digitally for the PS5 console for USD $49.99/€49.99 MSRP. You can pre-order digitally here.

Players who purchased Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, or Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End & Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Digital Bundle have the option to pay $10/€10 to upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Digital Version. The upgrade will be available starting at launch on January 28, 2022.

Owners of PS4 disc copies must insert them into the PS5 every time they want to download or play the PS5 digital versions. PS4 game disc owners who buy the PS5 Digital Edition disc-free console will not be able to get the PS5 version for the discounted price.

PlayStation Plus members who claimed Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End via their PlayStation Plus subscription are not eligible for the $10/€10 digital PS5 upgrade.

Please note that the multiplayer mode included in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will not be a part of this new collection.

As part of a promotion for the upcoming Uncharted movie, Sony has also announced that players who purchase or upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PS5 via PlayStation Store are eligible for a voucher code for one standard ticket to see the movie in participating theaters. The Uncharted movie will release theatrically on February 11, 2022.

Players who are awaiting the game’s release on PC will have to wait a bit more, though, as besides the PS5 release date Sony has not yet released any more details on Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection for PC. It is now up for wishlisting on the platform on either Steam or the Epic Games Store.

  • PlayStation 5: 22.75 GB
  • Xbox One: ~10 GB
  • Xbox Series X: ~14 GB
  • Xbox Series S: ~10 GB

Quality-of-Life updates

  • Made several adjustments to reduce the instances where HUD elements would be blocked or hidden, e.g., when changing region.
  • When starting a Special Operation, the player joining the Co-Op session will now be informed which Special Operation is being started.
  • Increased Mission tracker icon and font size when using the “Increased” option for UI and Fonts Scaling under the Vision option menu.
  • Added MSI Mystic Light RGB support to the game.

New Utility Packs – Coming December 16:
Materials Pack

  • Basic Materials Pack: 300 Far Cry Credits
  • Advanced Material Pack: 1000 Far Cry Credits

Yaran Pesos Pack

  • Small Yaran Pesos Pack: 300 Far Cry Credits
  • Medium Yaran Pesos Pack: 500 Far Cry Credits
  • Large Yaran Pesos Pack: 1000 Far Cry Credits

Bug fixes:

General

  • Fixed an issue that could cause NPC models to become corrupted for player joining a co-op session, after an extended co-op playtime.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause enemies to not be shown on the minimap during the “Cocodrilo” Special Operation.

Vaas: Insanity

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the host to be stuck in a black screen after pressing “Save and Quit” in the final scoreboard.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the “Self-Help”, “Dear Diary” and “Freudian Field Day” achievements to not correctly unlock after meeting the required conditions.

PC

  • HD Texture Pack – Some assets appearing blurry

Developer comment: We have made some changes for the HD Texture Pack on PC that should decrease the blurriness that appeared for some players when using the HD Texture Pack. When looking into these reports, we are seeing players using graphics cards with less than 12 GB of VRAM available. When using the HD Texture Pack with less than the minimum required VRAM available, the performance and the look of the game can be worse than without the pack.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the “Aim Type” and “Weapon Wheel Interaction” options to reset to default when restarting the game.

Xbox

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the Vaas: Insanity DLC to become unavailable when signing-out and signing-in to the same Xbox Live profile.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to constantly be prompted with a “Quit Game” message after restarting from Rest mode.

Xbox One

  • Fixed an issue that could cause weapons and weapon attachments to disappear.

Xbox Series X|S

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the Menu cursor to get stuck on screen when opening the military escalation popup after loading a save.

If you haven’t played Far Cry 6 yet, it might be more of the same, but what’s there is fantastic. Read our review of it right here.

Knockout City Update 4.00 Patch Notes; Strikes Out for Season 4 This Dec. 7

Velan Studios has rolled out the Knockout City update 4.00 patch (PS4 version 4.000.000) this December 7, which is for the Season 4 content! Same as before, this title update includes new content, a host of gameplay-related changes, and more! Read on for the official patch notes.

Knockout City Update 4.00 Patch Notes | Knockout City Season 4 Patch Notes | Knockout City Update 4.000.000 Patch Notes:

NEW AND IMPROVED FEATURES

  • Patch 4.0 introduces Season 4: Alien Invasion, which comes with a host of new additions! You can read all about what Season 4 has to offer, but here’s a short list of what you have to look forward to:
    • New Map: Alien Smash Site has been added to all new and existing Playlists in Street Play, League Play and Private Matches
    • New Training: Training 9 introduces the various aspects of the new map, as well as new training contracts to complete (and free Holobux to score!)
    • New Cosmetics and Bundles in the Brawl Shop, which will rotate in throughout the Season. (Dev note: My personal favorites are the new voices!)
    • New UFO Crew Vehicles! You can earn them from Crew Contracts or purchase them from the Brawl Shop throughout the Season.
    • New Energy Drink, the Pom-Passer, which rewards 15 XP for hits by teammates using balls that you passed to them.
  • We’ve added three new music tracks from The Listeners for you to bop around to while you play!
    • Dev note: Technically, this is part of what Season 4 has to offer, but it’s so exciting, it deserves its own bullet point. If you’ve been following along, Knockout City features several different bands, played by the DJ on the moon. Looks like he’s discovered a whole new band with a new sound, just in time for this Season. You’ll hear these brand new songs right away on the Title Screen, and in the match music. They’ll also be permanently added to the game!
  • Several major improvements to League Play:
    • Team KO is back as the focus of League Play in Season 4. You can learn more about our decision to return to Team KO here.
    • Team Elimination will return to the Daily Playlist rotation, and has picked up some new polish and balancing improvements to the Danger Zone and ball/player spawning behavior. These improvements have also been propagated to all modes that use the Danger Zone. As always, let us know what you think about these changes!
    • At Diamond Rank, Skill Rating (SR) ties are now decided by Win Spread, which is your total number of wins at Diamond minus your total number of losses at Diamond.
    • ALL players now start at Skill Rating 0 when they first reach Diamond, putting everyone at even footing when they first arrive.
    • The amount of bonus SR players receive (or lose) based on their MMR value has been significantly reduced, further reducing any unfair advantages while still subtly rewarding players with better win/loss records in ranked play.
    • Exclusive new Season 4 cosmetics are available to earn for each Rank Tier in League Play, including bonus Player Icons and Holobux for brawlers that place in the top 1000/500/100/50/10/5/4/3/2/1 places on the Leaderboard.
    • Dev note: We want your League Play experience to be the best it can be, so as always, please let us know what you think about these changes. You can leave us feedback by using the #tell-us channel in our Discord.
  • Look-up angle increase. Players can now look up at a much sharper angle, decreasing the advantage opponents have when they are high up in the air.
    • Dev note: This was added to help players react strategically to players who would fly high above them, have a teammate toss them a ball and beam it onto an unsuspecting player below (affectionately known as the AC-130 strat).
  • Contracts:
    • The difficulty and quantity of some Contracts have been decreased a bit to make them more easily attainable and fun. They still require skill and time investment in different amounts, but some of the more unreasonable requirements with low completion rates have been improved.
  • Improved free-throw indicator. When charging an untargeted ball, the preview hologram for where the ball will target now animates and changes states depending on whether the target location will hit geometry or a point in space.
    • Dev note: This was added as part of the Conflict Escalation playlist, but realized this was useful across all game modes, especially for knowing where you’re going to throw an opponent you happened to catch in ballform. So this has been added as a permanent improvement to the game.
  • Introducing: Auto Sprint! A new option for the Sprint Button setting, Auto, lets the player automatically sprint when moving forward unless they are actively charging a ball.
  • To help us dive deeper into player lag and connection issues, we’ve implemented the Report Server button, which allows you to report your experience on a server, once per game. Please use this function if you’re experiencing lag, lag spikes, or poor connection issues. We also introduced the Lag Report form, which you can use to give us more detailed feedback about the types of lag-related issues you’re seeing.
  • To help you remember exactly where you landed at the end of the Season, the League Play Season rewards sequence will now include a message about your final Leaderboard placement when notifying you of rewards, to help you remember exactly where you landed.
  • One nice thing about virtual stores: you don’t need to lease extra space to offer more inventory. You’ll now find two additional items for sale in the Brawl Shop every day of the week.
  • The Social Menu, Match Results, and Next Match screens will now display group indicators for all players in a match that are in a group together. Each group will be color-coded for the team that group is in. So, in a 4v4 match, if there are 2 groups of 2 people, each group will be represented by a different color.
  • When spectating other players in KO Royale, the camera is now smoother.

BUG FIXES

PC

  • Fixed audio issues on PC if the game application was put in the background or minimized.

PS5

  • Fixed a possible crash for PS5 players who suspend the game while restarting.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some players to see a black screen when progressing past the Title Screen on PS5 in Performance Mode due to changing refresh rates and/or screen resolutions.

Switch

  • Fixed an issue on Switch with Soda Ball sound effects playing twice after the ball explodes.

Gameplay

  • We fixed an exploit that allowed players to catch a pass and fake throw repeatedly to keep the ball charged. You may have heard this one referred to as “traveling.”

Voice Chat and Text To Speech

  • Fixed some problems with voice chat that would cause it to stop working for some players.
  • Fixed various issues where text-to-speech would stop working.

Bots

  • Sometimes, new player training bots would not show the correct name or Player Icon in menus. They should now always have a unique name and a Player Icon of the first letter of their name.

Social Menu

  • In the Recent Players list, the most recent players now sort to the top of the list.
  • On all platforms, fixed some issues that could cause players’ current status information both in and out of game (e.g. on friends lists) to be out of date.

Audio / Visual

  • Fixed some visual issues with lighting in Enhanced Lighting Quality mode.
  • Adjusted the lighting in the maintenance room in Lockdown Throwdown during Midnight Madness to not be so red.
  • Made the Z3R0 Voice the proper volume.

Matchmaking

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the Matchmaking indicator to incorrectly display “Joining Match in Progress” if a match was found when the reward sequence was playing.

Spectating

  • Spectators could spectate a KO’d brawler in some game modes; they will now skip over KO’d players when switching.
  • Spectating brawlers playing with controllers will no longer feel controller vibration for the spectated brawler’s actions.

Maps

  • Fixed an issue where the player could stand on an invisible box in Jukebox Junction and be KO’d as soon as a train started moving.
  • Fixed some issues where brawlers could be thrown through the ceiling in some places.

Contracts

  • Sometimes, Contracts would not show your progress while waiting for a match to start before updating to the proper amount.”. This has been corrected, and you’ll see the correct amount of progress immediately.
  • Crew Contracts that require the completion of other Crew Contracts now give their rewards immediately after being completed instead of after the next match completed.
  • Fixed some issues that prevented a Daily Login Bonus from being awarded.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause settings, new item indicators, and tracked contracts to be reset.

UI

  • Fixed missing player and crew names in the Next Match or Match Results screen.
  • Fixed many issues in the rewards sequence with contracts progression not animating properly.
  • Fixed an issue in the Contracts list where trying to view rewards would result in a permanent loading icon until the player scrolled the list in specific ways.
  • Paging through the user Leaderboard should now correctly center around your player.

Modern Warfare & Warzone Update 1.48 Pre-Load Rolling Out for Warzone Pacific Season 1 (Update)

For those heavy into Call of Duty: Warzone, rejoice! The time is almost here! Raven Software has released the Modern Warfare & Warzone update 1.48 patch this December 7, which is available as a pre-load for PS4 and PS5 players, and this is to bring Season 1 of Warzone Pacific into the hit battle royale game. While gamers can download the patch, the actual kick off will be later tonight/tomorrow depending on your region.

Update: For those looking for the December 9/December 10 patch notes that includes weapon tuning changes, head on over here.

Modern Warfare & Warzone Update 1.48 Patch Notes | Warzone Pacific Update 1.48 Patch Notes:

Size: 45GB

Warzone Pacific Start Time: 9PM PST/12MN EST/1PM HKT

Update: Here are the official patch notes and playlists for Warzone Pacific (via Raven Software)!

PLAYLIST:

EVENTS:

24-Hour Exclusive Early Access

Starting on December 8th, anyone who has purchased Call of Duty: Vanguard (and plays at least one Multiplayer match) will be able to participate in a 24-hour Caldera exclusive access event in Warzone Pacific.

MODES:

Raven Software has not released the official patch notes just yet. However, we do know the new content incoming which Activision has shared via oress release. Given how Vanguard is being integrated into Warzone with this patch, the new perks, etc. are all lumped in as new stuff for both games.

Vanguard Royale

We’ve created a brand new Battle Royale experience, true to the spirit of Vanguard.
This new mode will focus on a few key pillars:

  • Dogfighting Planes & Anti-Air Combat
    • Jump into Fighter Planes to rain down pain on foes or head for the Anti-Aircraft Guns to shoot them out of the skies.
  • Core Vanguard Experience
    • Players will play with a WWII-era ruleset, having access to Vanguard-only themed Weapons, Operators, Vehicles, Killstreaks, and more. This ruleset will extend to custom Player Loadouts.
  • New Environmental Hazards
    • Bombing Runs will occur throughout each game at random at any given time.
      • These will be announced and appear on the Tac Map as a red circle, so eyes to the skies!

In addition to the above, a number of changes should be expected, including but not limited to:

  • Larger Initial Circle
    • The radii and times for Circle collapses have been rebalanced to accommodate dogfighting further into the mid-late game. The overall game length remains the same as Battle Royale.
  • Public Events
    • The new Public Event structure is as follows:
      • Circle 1
        • Weapon Crates or Cash Drops
      • Circle 2
        • Loadout Drops
      • Circle 3
        • Fire Sale
      • Circle 4
        • Weapon Crates or Cash Drops (High Probability)
        • Resurgence or Jailbreak or Loadout Drops (Low Probability)
      • Circle 5
        • Restock
      • Circle 6
        • Loadout Drops
      • Circle 7 & 8
        • Public Events conclude, you’re on your own!

Inspired by the positive reception of Operation: Flashback, the team wanted to bring these Public Events across to Vanguard Royale. We also heard the feedback that Players still wanted to feel a sense of strategy and mastery, so we have made some key changes to remove the haphazardness of Public Events in this mode.

  • Buy Stations (Vanguard Royale)
    • Loadout Markers will be available for purchase after the Loadout Drop Public Event.
    • UAV’s will not be available from Buy Stations in this mode but can be acquired as Contract rewards.

Below is a list of all of the gameplay elements that are either included or excluded based on our WWII-era ruleset:

And as a special treat, we’re offering Players a chance to earn unique limited-time rewards including an Emblem and Calling Card.

Vanguard Resurgence

With thanks to our friends at Beenox, the beloved Resurgence gameplay experience drops into the Pacific! This mode is tailored to a selection of hand-picked POI’s on the new Caldera map. With a max Player count of 48, this mode will follow the same WWII-era ruleset designed for Vanguard Royale, but with the gameplay that Players have come to know and love from Rebirth Island.

This mode is a great way for players old and new alike to learn the new POI’s on the Caldera, with Rebirth Resurgence returning to the Playlist rotation on December 16th.

Battle Royale

The greatest Call of Duty sandbox ever! In this version of Caldera, anything goes. Access Vehicles, Weapons, Operators, Killstreaks, new Contracts, new Public Events and more from every timeline!

Whilst the overall game time for Battle Royale remains aligned with the Verdansk experience, we have used our learnings and findings from the past two years of Warzone development to refine the circle speeds to better reflect the size and topography of Caldera, with slower Circle closing speeds but a faster time between Circles to give players more time to traverse the peak!

Plunder

It wouldn’t be Warzone without there being big money on the line, with a Plunder experience built for the Caldera lining up on day one including all Vehicles, Weapons, Operators, Killstreaks, new Contracts and more from every timeline!

MAPS:

Thank you to all of our peers who helped bring Caldera to life… special shoutout to Sledgehammer Games, Beenox, Toys for Bob, and High Moon Studios.

New Map: Caldera

Caldera comprises 15 huge, distinct areas to explore and fight across once Operation Vulcan begins. There are also hundreds of lesser points of interest to investigate and use to your tactical advantage.

New Regions:

  • Arsenal
  • Docks
  • Runway
  • Ruins
  • Mines
  • Peak
  • Beachhead
  • Village
  • Lagoon
  • Airfield
  • Fields
  • Sub Pen
  • Power Plant
  • Capital
  • Resort

For a full breakdown of each new region, check out the Caldera Introduction blog here.

New Gulag

Created by our friends at High Moon Studios, this new Gulag experience is set deep within the mines of Caldera. Using all the learnings developed from the many Gulags that have been designed since Warzone launched in 2020, the team focused on both equality of the combat experience. Let’s not forget about the all-important spectator experience as well – that is, if multiple of your Squad have been unfortunate enough to have been eliminated at once!

Rebirth Island

Rebirth Island will remain available to all Warzone players, whether or not they own Vanguard, during the initial 24 hour exclusive access period.

The map will then be removed from the Playlist until it returns on December 16th with the Week 2 Playlist update.

GENERAL:

With the launch of Season One, all Warzone players can gain access to everything that Vanguard brought to the arsenal and barracks including but not limited to:

  • Over 40 New Weapons
  • Over a dozen New Operators
  • New Prestige, Calling Cards, Emblems, and More

At the start of this season, cross-progression between Vanguard and Warzone will be enabled, allowing you to rank up through Seasonal Prestige and unlock new content through the Battle Pass and Challenges.

New Onboarding Tutorial

Developed by our friends at Toys for Bob, we have a brand new Tutorial ready for Players who are fresh to Warzone. This tutorial will take you into the heart of Caldera and teach you everything you need to know for survival.

GAMEPLAY:

Season One comes with more than just a shiny new map – including a slew of brand new features and important changes to features you’ve familiarized yourself with already.

New Vehicles

  • Fighter Plane
    • Rain down destruction and reign supreme with the Fighter Plane. This versatile two-seater vehicle provides as much combat support with its front-mounted weapon systems as it does squad support—via sonar ability that pings enemy troop locations as well as legendary crates.
  • Utility Truck
    • With room for two in the front and however-many-you-can-fit in the back, the Utility Truck is a powerhouse cargo and transport vehicle that shakes off incoming fire while plowing through any terrain stupid enough to get in its way. Additional variant swaps cargo space for high-powered AA attachment so you can rule the skies and the ground.
  • Squad Transport
    • Agile turns and a frame built to take punishment make the Squad Transport ideal for relocating up to four Operators across the battlefield. Best-in-class suspension devours off-road obstacles for breakfast, and a ripping top speed means plenty of dust for your enemies to eat.

New Contracts

Three new types of Contract will spawn in Caldera including:

  • [TOP SECRET]
    • A Contract is selected at random but with significantly increased rewards. Who knows what you’re gonna get?
  • Big Game Bounty
    • Time to hunt down an enemy Operator with an impressive elimination count – assuming you’re confident enough to risk it!
    • Rules:
      • Will only show on the Tac Map at the end of the 1st Circle.
      • Will not select the same target multiple times in a row.
  • Supply Drop
    • A valuable Supply Drop crate will drop into the map that only your squad has the coordinates to… but be careful, other teams can see the green smoke and try to steal it!

New Public Events

  • Restock
    • All supply boxes on the map will close again and refresh their loot.
  • Resurgence
    • For a short duration, the Resurgence effect will allow Players to respawn so long as a teammate is boots on the ground.
  • Cash Drop
    • The well known Plunder Cash Drops will begin to spawn.
  • Heavy Weapons Crate
    • New and highly desirable Weapons can be obtained from these crates.

New Tac Map

  • We’ve brought you a new look to compliment the beauty of a 1940s Caldera!
  • Players are now able to ping on the Tac Map after being eliminated or while in the Gulag.

New Mechanics

  • Flying
    • Players are now able to operate the Fighter Plane. Take to the skies! But don’t get too comfortable.
  • Anti-Aircraft Gun
    • Fixed to the ground or mounted on the back of a Utility Truck, use this heavy duty Weaponry to clear the skies of those pesky planes.
  • Gasoline Can
    • Pick them up, ignite them, throw them, send them up an ascender, set up a trap, shoot at them on the ground or in someone’s hands (you decide). These new little toys will explode, causing damage and releasing a non-toxic smoke to blind your enemies.
  • Shallow Water
    • Molotov Cocktails and Thermites that are thrown into water will now behave similarly to Smoke Grenades.
    • The Tracer Perk effect will be enabled for Players in water that reaches their ankles.
    • The Cold Blooded Perk effect will be enabled for Players in water that reaches their knees.
    • Players are unable to lie prone in knee-deep water.

Gameplay Adjustments

  • The Stopping Power Field Upgrade has been removed from loot.
  • The Gulag will now allow the victor to redeploy with the Weapon(s) and equipment that remain at the end of the duel.
  • Buy Station
    • UAVs now cost $6,000, up from $4,000 when available.
  • Loadout Drop Markers
    • These can only be purchased at Buy Stations after the first free Loadout Drop Public Event has taken place.
    • This change only affects Vanguard Royale and Battle Royale.
  • Dead Silence
    • This Field Upgrade will now refresh on the first kill only, with reduced drop rates found in loot.

We will continue to monitor the strength of this Field Upgrade over the season.

  • Melee Damage
    • Melee and non-Melee Weapons will now require at least three hits to achieve Melee Finisher damage.
  • Lethal Equipment
    • Claymore
      • Damage increased to 200, up from 150
    • Frag Grenade
      • Damage increased to 112/225, up from 70/140
    • Molotov Cocktail
      • Damage per tick increased to 21|36|43, up from 15|25|30
      • Duration increased to ~12.5 seconds, up from ~6.5 seconds
    • Proximity Mine
      • Damage increased to 225, up from 200
    • Semtex
      • Damage increased to 74/150, up from 70/140
    • Throwing Knife
      • Damage increased to 250, up from 200, on hits to Upper Torso and Headshots

Lethal Equipment has been revised to pack a heavier punch. This balance pass should provide more versatility and provide more impactful hits for Players not at max plates. With this change if a lethal did not down a player with full plates it still will not. However, it will now be a critical hit to players with little or no plates (the exception being the throwing knife).

  • Tactical Equipment
    • Decoy Grenade
      • Will now fire rubber bullets with a chance to hit nearby enemies dealing 1 point of damage
    • Heartbeat Sensor
      • Pulse time increased to 6 seconds, up from 3 seconds
    • Snapshot Grenade
      • Detection radius increased to 28 meters, up from 14 meters
    • Stim
      • Will additionally apply a 3 second boost that increases movement, slide, and sprint speed
    • Stun Grenade
      • Stun duration decreased to 2.5/4.5 seconds, down from 4.7/5.5 seconds

With these changes, our goal is to provide Players with a range of viable Tactical Equipment to choose from, rather than feeling disadvantaged for exploring outside of the commonly accepted choices – notably Stuns, Heartbeat Sensor, and Flash Grenades.

  • Gas Mask
    • The Gas Mask animation will now wait for reloading, Armor Plate insertion, or Grenade throwing animations to complete.

We know that the Gas Mask is a crucial tool for survival but at times it can also be detrimental. This change is intended to maintain Player agency and provide more control around the mask, while still giving players already inside the circle the tactical edge.

UI, UX & MORE:

We’re introducing a revamped Settings menu layout inspired by Vanguard, including the following updates:

  • Reordering of the available Options
  • A new Interface tab that now hosts the preexisting Accessibility and HUD options
  • Graphics options have been split into two tabs:
    • Display
    • Quality
  • Addition of the following options:
    • Min/Max Input Deadzone per Stick
      • Left Stick Min Input Deadzone
      • Right Stick Min Input Deadzone
      • Left Stick Max Input Deadzone
      • Right Stick Max Input Deadzone
  • Walk Keybind & Speed Setting
    • Player can assign a key to the new Walk option
    • Customize the speed at which the Walk key makes you move

PRESTIGE:

At the start of Season One, your Season Level will refresh to Level 1 and your progress will resume from the highest Prestige Level you achieved previously — three, if you reached the top level during the pre-season.

Starting with Season One, every 10 levels within Prestige offers a new Zombies and a Multiplayer / Warzone Pacific Challenge to complete for XP and a Calling Card. Complete all 20 within a seasonal set for that game mode to unlock an incredible animated Calling Card that shows off your elite abilities.

This season offers four additional Prestiges to achieve across the first 200 levels, as well as a new Weapon Blueprint:

  • Level 50
    • New Prestige
    • Emblem
    • Weapon Blueprint
    • Battle Pass Tier Skip

    • Battle Pass Tier Skip
    • Master Prestige Calling Card
  • Levels 250–1,000
    • Ability to earn additional Prestige Levels, if they were not reached during the pre-season.

NOTE: Your Prestige-leveling journey is synchronized between Vanguard and Warzone Pacific, meaning you can progress through Season Levels and increase your Prestige Level by earning XP in either game!

Season One for Vanguard and Warzone includes:

  • Five new free weapons
  • New Maps, including MW3 Dome Remake Radar
  • Popular mode Control returns
  • Two new perks and Incendiary Lethal Grenade for loadouts
  • Fresh objectives, new weapons and challenges for Vanguard Zombies
  • Festive Fervor celebrations later this month
  • and much more!
The Season One Battle Pass for Vanguard and Warzone Pacific includes:
  • Three Free Functional Weapons. Two New Perks. New Equipment. All Free. Period.
  • Over 30 Free Items, Including Some for Clans. 300 COD Points, Weapon Blueprints, and more. Earn even more items by joining a Clan with friends, then party up to get that 10% global XP boost.
  • Trident’s First Operator: Francis “Kai” Lanakila. Here for a good time, not a long time. Purchase the Battle Pass to unlock him immediately at Tier 0.
  • A “Battleprepped” Legendary Skin, Free with Battle Pass Bundle. Pick up the Battle Pass Bundle to get access to all 100 Tiers, skip ahead to Tier 20, and grab a menacing new skin for Polina.

Two New Perks and Incendiary Lethal Grenade for Loadouts

Serpentine — Perk 1, Tier 21 of Season One Battle Pass

  • Sprinting reduces incoming damage.
  • Breaking out into a regular sprint slightly reduces all damage from ballistics and explosives, while Tactical Sprinting can cut damage by more than a quarter of its normal value.

Intuition — Perk 1, Tier 44 of Season One Battle Pass

  • Your vision pulses when enemies are nearby, even through walls.
  • Similar to High Alert in previous games, but with shorter range, Intuition allows you to perceive threats before they round corners or burst through doors. This is done without the need to suppress them like Piercing Range, making it a more passive option for those looking for more close-range engagements.

Special Incendiary Grenade — Lethal Equipment, Tier 39 of Season One Battle Pass

  • Obscures an area in a white fog and burns those who come close.
  • A handheld and extremely limited version of the Firebombing Run Killstreak, the Incendiary Grenade deals a small burst of damage within a large radius at the detonation point, then deals burn damage every second to those who stay within its range. This damage scales the longer someone is within the area and lasts for a longer time than its rivals, the Thermite and Molotov Cocktail.

VANGUARD ZOMBIES OVERVIEW

  • Prepare for the Purge and New Covenants. A fresh Objective to conquer at season launch, as well as 14 new ways to use those Sacrificial Hearts.
  • New Weapons and Challenges. Bolster your loadouts with five new weapons, bring launchers into the fight, and complete new Career Challenges and Season Challenges for unique rewards.
  • Tome of Rituals, Support Killstreaks, New Area, Holiday Updates, and More In-Season. Upgrade those Artifacts for more powerful Dark Aether abilities, discover new secrets in Von List’s Office, and craft powerful Support tools to use against the undead threat later in the season.

Treyarch is preparing new Zombies updates for after the new year, which will include more content and features:

  • The Tome of Rituals. Your Artifacts will be able to grow in power through the Tome of Rituals, offering greater Dark Aether abilities to aid in your survival.
  • Von List’s Office. Few know what Von List is hiding in his personal quarters, but it may offer clues as to Kortifex’s plans. Dark secrets may also be waiting beyond a mysterious new portal…
  • Support Killstreaks. The devastating Warmachine and Deathmachine will be ready to help you fight the rotting masses, so long as you have the Salvage to spare at the Crafting Table (or get lucky at the Mystery Box).
  • Additional Features. New weapon unlock challenges, Mystery Box weapon updates, Server Pause functionality, and more are planned for later in Season One, including festive new holiday theming in Stalingrad.
