Battlefield V Paratropper Sets First Look at All 9 Variants, FAQ Revealed

Just a few weeks ago, we posted an article that details how to get every Battlefield V Paratrooper set that the game will have at launch. For those not familiar with it, the Paratrooper sets are character skins that add a layer of customization for each player.

If you’re wondering what these Paratrooper sets look like, wonder no more! Thanks to Global Community Manager Dan Mitre, we now have our first look at the complete Paratrooper sets! There are nine in total, and there’s even exclusive weapon skins too!

Desert Medic

Desert Commando

Phantom Major

Desert Driver

Fallschrimjager

Sanitater

Luftlandetruppen

Jagdflieger

Firestorm Ranger

In addition to that, there are weapon skins that come with the Paratrooper sets too! Here they are:

KE7 Denison

Lee Enfield No.4 MK I Denison

STEN Denison

Sturmgewehr Denison

KE7 Peacekeeper

Lee Enfield No.4 MK I Peacekeeper

STEN Peacekeeper

Sturmgewehr Peacekeeper

If you’re curious or have questions, DICE has released an FAQ as well that should clear things up (hopefully).

  • How many sets are there to collect through pre-order and edition bonuses?
    • There are 9 sets in total.
      • Desert Medic
      • Desert Commando
      • Phantom Major
      • Desert Driver
      • Fallschrimjager
      • Sanitater
      • Luftlandetruppen
      • Jagdflieger
      • Firestorm Ranger
  • How do I get each set?
    • You get a specific amount of Tokens for pre-ordering, purchasing an edition, or playing BF1 that you can use to unlock the sets as you see fit.
      • You get 1 Token when you pre-order either the Battlefield V Deluxe or Standard Edition.
      • You get 5 Tokens as part of the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition.
      • You can earn 2 Tokens by playing Battlefield 1, as part of the final stage of the Road to Battlefield V.
  • Wait, that’s 8 Tokens possible. How do I get the 9th set?
  • How many Tokens do I get if I’m an Origin Access Premier subscriber?
    • You get 6 Tokens if you’re an Origin Access Premier subscriber. You still have to play BF1 as part of the final stage of the Road to Battlefield V to get the other 2 Tokens.
  • Are there also weapon skins that we get?
    • Yes! Weapon skins come with each set.
      • The Allies get the Denison skin set
      • The Axis get the Peacekeeper skin set

In other Battlefield V news, make sure to check out the complete list of Trophies and Achievements associated with the game. Check out the starting weapons for each class as well right here.

Hot Take – Diablo Fans Are Children And Continue to Prove That Theory

Note: the views expressed in this article are solely that of the author’s and does not represent the views of MP1st and its staff as a whole.

Gamers everywhere are finally turning on Blizzard after years of good faith built up through Overwatch, and why? Because a mobile game for Diablo was announced. *SIGH*

Now, I’m no stranger to being outraged over things that I shouldn’t be outraged over, like when EA thought the best to way to bring back the Command & Conquer series was through a mobile game. Obviously, I wasn’t happy about it, but the game isn’t for me, and that’s okay. Obviously, I wanted a PC C&C like 99% of the people who play the game, but alas.

You might be asking why I changed my tune, and frankly, it was the sudden realization that a mobile game of C&C affects me in literally no way at all. Just like a mobile game of Diablo affects nobody who likes the Diablo franchise. “But wait Den, I wanted a PC release of the next Diablo game, not this mobile Pay-To-Win game!”

This is what it ultimately comes down to, yet the approach is what I disagree with. You see, by allowing yourselves to be absolute spoons and ask developers who develop a game they want to create if what they are doing is a joke, you remove all semblance of a valid reasoning to be angry with Blizzard. It’s misplaced anger. It’s so misplaced the guy presenting this game looked like he wanted to break down and cry.

First off, it’s probably not his fault that the game exists. Second, he probably cares about actually delivering a great and functional spin-off mobile game of Diablo, and what childish fans of the franchise did was blow something so small out of proportion.

And don’t even talk to me about being a “real fan” of the franchise, I was beating the first Diablo game when I was five years old because my Dad was cool like that (Plot twist: accidentally burned my house down in the same year. Game about demons and hell and fire. Correlation? I don’t know, I failed math twice).

The point is that gamers are letting themselves get riled up over things that don’t affect them in a meaningful way. They are letting disappointment turn to anger and using that energy to fuel an overblown harassment and meme campaign which is going to affect any developer who might be working on the game. “Oh cool, the game we just announced is already hated before it’s even played. Man, I just love working in the games industry. It’s such a positive experience.”

What’s even worse are all the publications, influencers, and UTubbers who encourage this behavior. Obviously, we should be consumer first and protest anti-consumer practices like loot boxes and pay-to-win, but a mobile game with Diablo branding is on the opposite spectrum. This doesn’t mean I don’t agree that Blizzard’s timing was absolutely wack, but the response is so negative and toxic it’s like watching my Twitter feed become a League of Legends in-game chat feed.

Did you like the hot take? Did you hate it? What’s yours?

We remedied an issue with the “Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.3” where the position of the canard wing on the left front fender and the rear view while in the cockpit view mode were not accurate. (For more information regarding the correction to the canard wing, please see “’Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.3′ Livery Data Warning.”)

The engine sound of the “Gran Turismo Red Bull X2014 Standard ’14” has been altered.

We have updated the names for “Fuji International Speedway” (formerly “Fuji Speedway F”) and “Fuji International Speedway (Short)” (formerly “Fuji Speedway GT”).

Anthem Frame Rate or Graphics Performance Option Being Looked Into for PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, Skills Earn-able Even After Story Ends

With the added horsepower of both the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X, some games have capitalized on it by offering games the option to choose which to prioritize: frame rates or graphics. While the answer is definitely subjective and depends on the person, those looking forward to Anthem will be glad to know that the Anthem frame rate or graphics performance can be adjusted depending on the player’s preference!

This was revealed by BioWare Executive Producer Mark Darrah when answering a fan. When asked whether there’s an option to prefer frame rate or graphics on consoles, Darrah mentioned that they are looking to do just that on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Of course, with the studio “looking into it,” there’s no guarantee that it’ll be available at launch or at all, but it seems highly likely we’ll see it given other games have traveled the same path.

Also of note, when asked whether players can max out the skill tree in Anthem even after the story ends, Darrah confirms it’s a go!

Given how the game is a shared world shooter, and a “live services” title, being able to progress and max your skill tree even after the main questline is done isn’t all that surprising. I mean, the entire gameplay loop of these kind of games rely on post-launch, post-story content, where you’re farming for the best gear and so on. Still, it’s a nice confirmation to have.

Personally, I prefer a frame rate bump for shooters since it makes everything act out much smoother, but that’s just me.

In other Anthem news, don’t forget to check out all the abilities and ultimates the javelins available at launch can do! BioWare has also confirmed that Anthem will have more than three difficulty options available.

  • Pagani Zonda R ’09
  • Maserati GranTurismo S ’08
  • Honda EPSON NSX ’08
  • Lexus PETRONAS TOM’S SC430 ’08
  • Nissan XANAVI NISMO GT-R ’08
  • MINI Cooper S ’05
  • Jaguar E-type Coupé ’61
  • Subaru Impreza 22B-STi Version ’98

New track – Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

The Catalunya Circuit opened in September 1991, in line with the hosting of the Barcelona Olympics, and is located approximately 30km north of Barcelona, Spain. This is one of Spain’s leading race tracks where a variety of races including the F1 Spain Grand Prix is hosted. With a long straight and a large variety of corners, the setting of the car can greatly affect the lap times.

GT League

This month, we’ve added two new GT League events including:

  • MINI Challenge (Beginner League)
  • X2014 Nations Cup (Professional League)

Once the patch is released tomorrow, we’ll be sure to let our readers know ASAP.

What Are the Best Games to Play on Your Phone?

The mobile gaming industry is growing at an alarming rate, with more and more players opting for the smaller screen for their entertainment. The revenue generated from mobile gaming in 2017 was $40.6 billion, and this number is growing. Around 60 percent of smartphone users install a game as soon as they get a new phone, and game developers are zoning in on this lucrative market. There are various different game genres that are well-suited to the smaller mobile screen, and here are three of the most popular.

MMOs

MMOs have been a huge craze on mobile, and are at the forefront of the freemium model of gaming. These types of games allow players to start off for free, but in order to be able to flourish within the game world they are usually required to invest some money into buying things like upgrades.

One of the best-known MMOs of all time is Clash of Clans, which tasks players with building their own towns. They then have to go out and fight other groups of players in order to secure more resources and improve their own settlements. The game from Supercell was the top grossing app on the App Store and Google Play in 2015, with an estimated daily revenue of $1.5 million.

Casino Games

Casino games have proven to be ideally suited to mobile players who seek games that they can dip in and out of easily. Casino classics like blackjack, roulette and slots can be played for a few minutes at a time, making them ideal for playing during short breaks or while commuting. Because casino games have become so popular on mobile, most online casinos now offer state of the art mobile versions of their sites along with highly optimised games for the mobile screen.

Puzzle Games

Puzzle games have always been a recurring theme for mobile games, and some of the most successful titles of all time have come from this genre. Candy Crush and Angry Birds have made millions for developers King and Rovio respectively and also led to a number of other games which looked to imitate these classics. The key to a good puzzle game on mobile is to have an endless number of levels and to make sure each level doesn’t take too long to play. They also incorporate social media and allow players to see their friends’ progress as well as send in-game gifts to them.

One of the best puzzle games on the market in 2018 is Dissembler, which is a tile-swapping offering that tasks players with matching up colours. Another exciting and addictive option is Threes! Where players have to match up like numbers and try to get the highest possible figure without filling up the grid completely.

Depending on what kind of games you like, there are so many options to choose from in the growing mobile gaming market. Try out some of the newer games to kill some time today.

Battlefield V Starting Weapons for Each Class Revealed

With EA seemingly jumping the gun when it comes to the roll out of Battlefield V’s tutorial videos (which you can watch here), there’s an inadvertent side effect that stemmed from it, as we now know the Battlefield V starting weapons for each class!

This was revealed by Battlefield YouTuber LevelCap, in the Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4 “Watch” section of the game which is promoting Battlefield V. Here are the Battlefield V starting weapons for each of the four classes.

  • Assault – Sturmgewehr 1-5
  • Support – KE7
  • Medic – Sten
  • Scout – Lee Enfield No. 4 Mk1

Unlike in the Battlefield V beta, it seems the powerful STG rifle won’t be available out of the gate, which is good thing if the weapon is still as good as it was then. Speaking of weapons, you can check out the list of all the available weapons and equipment at launch, right here. We even compared how that initial list of weapons stack up against the other games in the franchise, which you ought to check out.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Myths Confirmed & Busted – Check Out the List

With a game as massive and immersive as Red Dead Redemption 2, there’s bound to be a few things that fans might want to know whether it can be done in the game or not. Thankfully, we don’t have to look far as we’ve compiled a list of the Red Dead 2 myths that some people might have wondering about.

Made by the awesome people at YouTube channel Defend The House, you can watch the first two episodes below, or if you want a condensed, easier-to-digest form, check out the list!

Red Dead Redemption 2 Myths (Vol. 1):

Myth #1: A train will stop if the track is blocked.

Answer: Yes, but only if it’s a carriage. Horses, people, etc. won’t stop it from moving.

Myth #2: Both people can die from a duel.

Answer: Yep!

Myth #3: You can blow up a tram.

Answer: Yes, indeedy.

Myth #4: A campfire can set people on fire.

Answer: You betcha, and you can even drag them through it for a slow burn.

Myth #5: You can shoot TNT out of the air.

Answer: Yes, even if it is a little hard.

Myth #6: You can get a horse on a train.

Answer: Yes, though it’s very hard with the only working method shown is via jumping off a bridge to land on to top of a moving train.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Myths (Vol. 2):

Myth 1: You can feed someone to an alligator.

Answer: Confirmed (only when fully hogtied) and it’s gruesome.

Myth 2: A pig will eat dead bodies.

Answer: Yes, and ugh!

Myth 3: People will drown if just their nose and mouth are underwater.

Answer: Confirmed and damn it’s not nice to see.

Myth 4: Dynamite will detonate if placed on fire.

Answer: Nope.

Myth 5: You can be killed by a tree.

Answer:  Hilariously, yes!

Myth 6: Bullet holes will sink a boat.

Answer: It can!

Surprised at the results? It seems Rockstar pulled no punches when it comes to realism — even if the outcome is a bit gruesome.

Anthem Will Have More Than Three Difficulty Modes

If you’ve seen some of the Anthem gameplay footage and thought that the enemy mobs and whatnot were a bit to easy to dispose of, don’t fret! The shared world action game will have more than enough difficulty settings to satisfy whatever challenge you need.

Answering a fan, Anthem Lead Producer Ben Irving confirmed that there will be “more than” three Anthem difficulty settings available! According to Irving, “there are difficulty levels so you (the player) will be able to have an easier time or a harder time depending on what you choose to do.”

When asked if he meant that there are more than three Anthem difficulty levels aside from the three “introductory” difficulties, Irving answered, “Yes it does.”

This is definitely good news for those who think the combat might be too easy — especially since most people will be rolling with a full squad, which should make things easier.

In another Anthem news, BioWare has confirmed that the game will have a melee build! Make sure you check out the javeliin abilities and ultimates to see what kind of destruction each class can do.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Crafting Guide Lists the Items Needed for Trapper in One Handy Table

If you’ve started Red Dead Redemption 2, chances are you’ve come across Pearson in your camp, and how he can craft new and upgraded items for Arthur based on the animal skins/furs that the player collects.

First off, if you’re having a hard time finding a Trapper in the game, just hold Options (PS4, Menu button for Xbox One), and press square (PS4, X on Xbox One), and filter the map to show Trapper locations. From what I know, the Trapper moves in different destinations, so best to consult that since there are items Pearson won’t be able to craft.

Now that’s out of the way, check out this Red Dead 2 crafting guide for the Trapper and camp materials all in one handy table (via Reddit user AmeriknGrizzly)!

Useful? You’re darn right it is! Of course, you also need to find the animals, and hunt them down, and skin them before anything gets made, but we’ll leave that part up to you.

In other Red Dead Redemption 2 news, we posted the differences between the original version of the game released out west, to the one released in Japan! You should also check out some of the funniest in-game accidents you’ll see in the game too.

Tons of Battlefield V Leaked Videos Detail Fortifications, Customization and Lots More!

It seems that someone handling the Battlefield media roll out has jumped the gun, as a ton of Battlefield V footage from Battlefield YouTubers can now be viewed in the actual game’s menu selection screen, but are not up in the channel creators’ channels just yet!

Based from the footage, it looks like the videos are part of EA’s “Boot Camp” series of videos for Battlefield V that teaches the player the basics. What exactly are these videos? Wonder no more, as we have them here just for you!

How to Build Fortifications

How to Customize Vehicles:

How to Customize Weapons:

How to Play as a Better Squad:

How to Play as the Recon Class:

How to Play as the Medic Class:

How to Play as the Support Class:

How to Revive:

How to Unlock Weapons:

Given how these videos aren’t supposed to be out just yet, or hasn’t been acknowledged by EA as being leaked, there is a chance of them being pulled. So watch them before it does, alright?

With the game’s early access release set for next week, a lot of info is making its way out! We reported yesterday that map voting in between matches won’t be available at launch, while platoons will be a feature that’ll be there at launch, but with a catch. We also posted our first look at Final Stand gameplay from the Grand Operations mode that you might want to check out too.

Hitman Live Action Trailer Stars Sean Bean, Watch Him Act All Menacing

While we already know that veteran actor Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings) will appear in Hitman 2 as the game’s first Elusive Target, we now have a new trailer of Bean in character in this new Hitman 2 live action trailer!

Bean’s in-game character, Mark Faba, is notoriously known as “The Undying” due to his reputation as a master of faking his own death. Elusive Target No. 1 Starring Sean Beanentitled The Undying, will release on November 20 and will run for a limited time. Once Elusive Target No. 1 is available, players must stop Mark Faba (a.k.a. Sean Bean) before he can utilize his expert surveillance, infiltration and demolition skills to complete a contract at the Global Innovation Race event in Miami, and if anyone can take down Faba for the last time, it’s Agent 47.

Elusive Target missions are unique, high-stakes contracts that are free for all players, allowing one chance to assassinate the target and if not successfully completed, the contract cannot be retried.

Don’t forget that Hitman 2 will also have multiple multiplayer modes as well. Check out the game features of Hitman 2 right here.

Battlefield V Map Voting Between Rounds Feature Won’t Be Available at Launch

Do you vote on which map to play on after every Battlefield match? If so, you’re in for some bad news. It seems that Battlefield V map voting between rounds won’t be available — at least at launch!

This was confirmed by Multiplayer level Designer Matthias Wagner who was asked, “Is map voting between rounds in Battlefield V?” Wagner’s answer was a straightforward, “Unfortunately, this will not be available at launch.”

Hopefully, this gets sorted out soon as it’s a bit annoying having to play the usual rotation since some want to play on specific maps. Speaking of maps, make sure to check out the latest trailer where we see all eight launch maps for Battlefield V! We also posted a deep dive look by DICE on what play styles fit into each map as well. Finally, go watch some Final Stand footage to see what kind of attrition you’ll face in the final day of a Grand Operation match.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Japanese Version Comparison Has a Few Key Changes, and Here They Are

It’s no secret that when games get released, there are sometimes different versions of the game to appease a certain country’s censorship regulatory board, or just to be more sensitive to the cultural differences. And with how violent and crass Rockstar Games made Red Dead Redemption 2 to be, it’s no surprise that the Red Dead Redemption 2 Japanese version has a few key differences with the version of the game released out west.

While you can watch the entire Red Dead Redemption 2 Japan version comparison in the almost four-minute video below. you can also check out the condensed and written form of the video as well! Note that there are some parts that might be considered spoiler-ish to some, we’ve made sure to not spoil anything too much, but if you don’t even like to know the title of missions, then best to look away.

CERO rating

In the Japanese version, a lot of the super gory details have been taken out such as:

You can dismember people in the western version of Red Dead 2 but in the Japanese version, body parts explode and vanish.

  • In the Japanese version, textures no longer shows bones, internal organs and other bloody details
  • The “American Dreams” mission, bodies aren’t dismembered when they’re left hanging. The clues that are hidden in body parts left by the assailant, the body parts aren’t dismembered, internal organs aren’t shown. However corpse’s heads still contain “stuff,” and are shown even if the bodies also have heads attached to ’em (in the Japanese version).
  • Explicit nudity is taken out. There’s a mission in chapter 2 wherein you’ll walk on someone doing the deed with a woman. In the western version, we get to see the breasts, while in the Japanese version, the woman is shown with clothes on.
  • In another super-early mission in chapter, it’s shown that Dutch, Arthur & Co. take down a man’s trousers while he’s tied up to do something unpleasant with his man bits; in the Japanese version, the trousers stay on even if the animation shows the gang pulling it down.

Not that many changes, thankfully! Are you surprised with the changes or were you expecting it? Let us know down in the comments.

Community Feedback Cycle on This Week’s Communications

  • Blog Feedback – The Progression System & Economy of Battlefield V
    • Progression Trees
      • Can we reset our progression trees? If so, when can we do that?
      • Ryan McArthur (Producer): You can reset Progression spec trees once that weapon or vehicle reaches rank 4.
      • Will we be able to upgrade and unlock new weapons while on the server instead of having to quit to the main menu?
      • RM: As a new round begins, you will be granted any unlocks you’ve earned from the previous round. You will be able to purchase spec choices during the pre-round phase before the match starts.
      • Will a player with a fully unlocked weapon or vehicle have a distinct advantage over someone who just started playing?
      • RM: Weapons in Battlefield V are intended to be balanced so each perform different, but none should have a distinct power. However, at launch the default weapon for each class will come fully speced out so all players have access to 1 fully speced weapon for each class.
    • Tides of War
      • Once a chapter ends, are we not able to unlock gameplay items introduced in that chapter? Will that opportunity to unlock have passed?
      • RM: Gameplay items missed in any chapter will be reseeded into the game in various ways, so players will always be able to earn those gameplay items they may have missed.
    • Unlocks
      • Is there anything you can buy with Battlefield Currency that you can’t unlock with Company Coin?
      • RM: Some cosmetic items will be Battlefield Currency only.
      • Will we be able to buy Company Coin with real money or is it strictly grind currency?
      • RM: No. You can only get it by grinding.
      • Is every cosmetic item available to purchase with Company Coin?
      • RM: No.
    • Currency
      • Will special assignments award Company Coin or Battlefield Currency? If the latter, great! If the former, isn’t that still providing players the option to “pay to get ahead” in that they’ll be able to buy more upgrades faster because they have a larger source of Company Coin income?
      • RM: They grant many different things including XP, Coins, and Items, but will not drop Battlefield Currency. It shouldn’t be an advantage as all players have access to various assignments.
  • Blog Feedback – Play Battlefield V First with Origin Access Premier
    • Deluxe Edition
      • Will the 20 airdrops that Deluxe Edition players get have cosmetics that only DE players can get?
      • RM: Yes.
      • Will the Tides of War bring cosmetics that only Deluxe Edition players can get?
      • RM: No, Tides of War cosmetics are for everyone who participates in that Tides of War.
  • Blogs Feedback – The Maps of Battlefield V
    • In-Game Hardware
      • Can you give us a bit more info about the number of tanks, planes, reinforcement slots and transport vehicles on each map?
      • Matthias Wagner (Level Designer): Below are the vehicle overviews per map, per team.
