Anthem Apparel and Merchandise Now Up for Purchase, Here’s What’s Available

Just as we reported the other day, Numskull, the same brand that made the Resident Evil merchandise, has revealed the Anthem merchandise player can pick starting today.

There’s the Anthem curved bill snapback cap, an Anthem steel mug, an Anthem keychain, and an Anthem t-shirt.

The keyring ain’t bad, no? Let’s hope they get more t-shirt designs, and maybe a javelin-themed hoodie or something.

For more gameplay-oriented Anthem news, check out the Interceptor profile, and the Storm profile breakdown to see how the two classes will work. There’s also the Lost Arcanist mission that shows teamwork that can be watched now.

Red Dead Online Update Brings in a New Game Mode, Upcoming Tweaks and New Stuff Revealed

For those trudging along the Wild West in Red Dead Online’s world, there’s a new Red Dead Online update out now, and it introduces a new game mode called “Gun Rush.”

Today’s update to the Red Dead Online Beta introduces Gun Rush, where you’ll put your survival instincts to the test, gathering weapons and ammunition while the play area shrinks in this new mode for up to 32 players. Available to play now in Free-for-all and Team variations, where the last one standing wins.

According to Rockstar, Red Dead Online will remain in beta for a “few more months,” and that more updates are coming soon which includes new Races and Showdown Modes, clothing and more.

Upcoming Content and Changes:

  • Daily Challenges: Tackle new challenges each day covering every aspect of the game, from sharpshooting to evading the law.
  • Law and Bounty Upgrades: Some changes are coming to the way the Law and Bounty systems work in Red Dead Online to reduce the enticements for griefing. Soon, players will get a bounty for committing crimes and will be incentivized to pay them off within an allotted time. Wait too long and bounty hunters from each of the states will track the player forcing them to either pay up or escape.
  • Parley Changes: We’re making the Parley system easier to trigger so that you can avoid aggressive players more quickly. In addition, it will be easier to trigger Feuds, Posse Feuds and Leader Feuds to take on attacking players in structured competition.
  • Proximity-Based Player Blips: Player location blips will soon appear only over short distances, reducing the range at which you are visible to others, decreasing the likelihood of being targeted by another player across large areas. Down the line, we’re also looking to introduce the ability to identify players who grief and kill indiscriminately with a progressively darkening blip that becomes more visible and at a longer range, so everyone in a session can identify potentially dangerous opponents at a glance and from a safe distance.

Rockstar said that lots of new content are set to come this year, and here’s a quick list of what’s to come:

More to Come

  • All-new missions to build on your Story in A Land Of Opportunities – from previously established characters like Horley and Jessica LeClerk, and some new ones as well.
  • A range of Dynamic Events throughout the world
  • Lots of new competitive modes including new Showdown Modes and Races
  • Plus new weapons and clothing, and lots more that we’re not quite ready to announce just yet…

How are you liking Red Dead Online so far? Once Rockstar releases a new patch, or a new mode/mission, we’ll let you know.

Potential Battlefield V Company Coin Bug Fix Rolled Out via Backend Update, Investigation On-Going

If you’ve been playing Battlefield V since launch, chances are you’ve encountered an issue with how Company Coin is given out; to be more specific, how it’s NOT being given out if you’ve reached rank 50.

With the holidays now over, it seems DICE has finally resolved this Battlefield 5 Company Coin bug! Well, at least they’re actively doing it. Over on Twitter, Producer Jaqub Ajmal announced that a Battlefield 5 Company Coin bug fix is being rolled out via server-side, though there are still issues with this “fix.”

Battlefield V – Important – We have rolled out a backend update that potentially fixes the issue with rank 50 players not getting Company Coins after consecutive rounds. Please note that we are still working on improving this further and that the Company Coins might take some time to show up in the armory. We are monitoring the system closely and will look at doing further fixes if there are still issues with this particular fix. Thank you for your patience!

Battlefield V – Please be aware that there is an issue with the Company Coins showing an incorrect amount on the end of round screen. We are also investigating issues with some players still not getting coins after rank 50.

Battlefield V – We are also working on bringing you more information, but as we are working on this right now, we are still really digging into all of the details and working on the messaging. We will share information once it’s ready.

If we get any updates from DICE, we’ll update the post accordingly. Let’s hope this gets sorted out soon.

In other Battlefield V news, DICE has said that it’s been working on a time-to-death (TTD) fix for the game, and that it’s confirmed to work, which we hope will be part of January’s patch. The second chapter of Tides of War called “Lightning Strikes” will also get a sneak peek preview today too, so keep an eye for that.

New Dragon Age Game Will Have Multiplayer, BioWare Hiring Jobs Connected to It

At The Game Awards, BioWare announced that a new Dragon Age game was indeed in development though there was nothing else to confirm aside from it. While that’s the case now, we can now at least pencil in that the untitled game will include multiplayer.

BioWare has posted a job ad (via GearNuke) that it’s looking for a Technical Director and here’s what they’re going to be doing at the studio:

What the franchise Technical Director for Dragon Age will do at BioWare:

The franchise Technical Director is the most senior engineering lead on the game team and a key member of the Dragon Age franchise leadership. Ultimately responsible for ensuring that we delight our players, they build and mentor the engineering team, build and execute the game technology plan, and define and direct the development process. They collaborate with central technology groups and other game teams to coordinate technology strategy and achieve the best results for BioWare and EA.

Looks to be standard stuff, right? Scrolling down, under the “qualifications” part, one of the bulletpoints include this line:

  • Experience developing multiplayer games.

If this indeed comes to fruition, which we’re fully expecting it to given the game is still in active development, it won’t be that much of a surprise given the last main entry in the series, Dragon Age: Inquisition which was released back in 2014, featured multiplayer.

Anthem Interceptor Javelin Profile Overview

Continuing with its coverage of Anthem, IGN has now released a new video of the Anthem Interceptor javelin class, its abilities, strengths and more.

Favoring speed, agility and deadly melee attacks, the Interceptor is the ninja of Anthem. You can triple jump, do the Cryo Glave and Tempest Blast combo to damage enemies in an area.

The Interceptor’s ultimate is called the Assassin’s Blades, where you can melee to your heart’s content with invincibility and added melee damage at the cost of being able to fly. I can see this class being dead useful against bosses for massive focused damage.

Check out the Storm class right here to see the abilities and strengths of that javelin class.

Don’t forget that an Anthem demo is set to commence soon for VIP members, while the public demo will be available in February.

The Division 2 PC Features Detailed in New Trailer

With most big budget AAA games these days being ported from consoles to PC, some gamers might assume the same thing will happen to Ubisoft’s The Division. Fortunately, that won’t be the case, and the publisher has just the thing to get rid of that notion.

In a press release, Ubisoft has detailed The Division 2 PC features. PC players can expect 4K support, HDR support,  variable refresh rates for monitors, widescreen and multiscreen display, uncapped frame rate and resolution.

Those looking forward to the game, here’s the official game features straight from Ubisoft.

A TRANSFORMED WASHINGTON, D.C.

In the wake of the virus, storms, flooding, and subsequent chaos have radically transformed Washington, D.C. Explore a living open world full of diverse environments, from flooded urban areas to historic sites and landmarks, during one of the hottest summers in history. The streets have been overrun with enemy factions, each with its own agenda and each vying for control of DC. It will be up to you to liberate the city and protect what remains of society.

BEST-IN-CLASS ENDGAME EXPERIENCE

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 was built with an “endgame-first” mentality, ensuring players always have access to fresh, unique, and diverse activities long after completing the main campaign. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2’s endgame will introduce brand new challenges and progression systems, unique twists and surprises, and for the first time, raids. Players will also be able to access a wealth of post-launch content, including a full year of free additional story-driven missions, map expansions, and gameplay modes.

REVAMPED PLAYER PROGRESSION AND NEW SPECIALIZATIONS

After completing the main campaign, gain access to new specializations such as demolitionist, sharpshooter, and survivalist. Each specialization will open up an entire new progression system with new skills, mods, and unique talents to acquire and maximize your agent efficiency in your chosen role.

DYNAMIC LIVING WORLD

Civilians and enemy factions are constantly striving to survive, vying for necessities such as food, medicine, and ammunition. As the factions face off against each other in a ravaged DC, they will fight to seize control of resources and locations – and for their very survival. The various needs and motivations from each faction will collide, triggering different encounters between enemy and friendly factions, civilians, and ultimately you as an Agent, creating a dynamic living world full of surprises.

UNITE THE CIVILIANS

Civilians have banded together in settlements to rebuild their society, but their very existence is threatened. Work closely with them to keep them safe and in turn, they will come to your aid and provide supplies and assistance to build up your base of operations, giving a deeper meaning to the people and the world around you.

A RENEWED DARK ZONE EXPERIENCE

The Dark Zone is an untamed area of the map with some of the best loot in the game. The Dark Zone is also the most dangerous area in the game, where fear, betrayal, and tension are high, as any other agent can turn against you and steal your hard-earned loot. In Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, this playground was designed to provide a fair and exciting experience to all players, regardless of their level of progression.

In other The Division 2 news, you can gain private beta access by purchasing select Mountain Dew products.

The Division 2 wiill hit the PS4, Xbox One, and PC this March 15, 2019.

Devil May Cry 5 Length Said to be About 15 Hours Long According to Game Director

If you’re looking forward to Devil May Cry 5, and curious how long the game will be from start to finish, don’t fret! It seems like it’ll be long enough.

During a Q&A session in Korea, Devil May Cry 5 Director Hideaki Itsuno was asked how long the Devil May Cry 5 length would be, and Itsuno mentioned that in the studio’s internal playthroughs, they estimate that Devil May Cry 5 would take around 15 hours to finish.

If this is indeed true and not padded in anyway, then this will make Devil May Cry 5 the longest game in the series, with previous games in the franchise usually beatable within 6-10 hours.

Will this number include the game’s unique multiplayer mode in play or just be what players will experience solo?

Devil May Cry 5 will ship out this March 8 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Battlefield V Time to Death Netcode Fix Confirmed to Be “Working” According to DICE

Much has been said regarding Battlefield V’s time-to-kill (TTK) and time-to-death (TTD), with DICE going back and forth about it.

While the studio has changed the time-to-death and reverted it back due to public demand, the Battlefield 5 time to death has remain unchanged with the studio seeking help from the community to find a better state for it. Well, it seems the studio has finally found it!

Over on Twitter, DICE Multiplayer Producer David Sirland mentioned that a “big” TTD netcode fix has been confirmed to be “working.”

Sweet. Confirmed a big TTD netcode fix is confirmed working during general play (super bullets) – now we’ll confirm it more scientifically. This is merely one of several good fixes in the pipe to improve the second to second netcode coming your way as soon as we can ship them

We don’t know for certain when this “confirmed” big netcode TTD fix will be implemented, but it’s good news for Battlefield V players nonetheless, no?

In other Battlefield V news, our first sneak peek at Tides of War chapter 2 called “Lightning Strikes” is set for a reveal this week.

Official Anthem Merchandise to Be Revealed Tomorrow

In the last few years, wearing gaming clothes and other apparel has become more and more accepted, and not in a “you’re a nerd” kind of way. If you’re one of the many that buy gaming apparel, and if you’re looking forward to BioWare’s Anthem, you might want to keep an eye out tomorrow, as official Anthem merchandise from Numskull Designs is set to be revealed!

Announced via Twitter, Numskull Designs is the same company behind the official Resident Evil apparel line.

I can already see the javelin-styled hoodies going over well with game fans. I admit, I wouldn’t say no to that, either.

Once we get a good look at their Anthem merchandise tomorrow, we’ll be sure to let our Anthem readers know.

Dead or Alive 6 Delayed to March 2019

Are you looking forward to smacking enemies in the head and bouncing breasts? If so, then you’re most likely looking forward to Dead or Alive 6. Unfortunately, KOEI Tecmo has announced the-not-so-surprising news that the game just got pushed back.

Originally set to launch this February 15, 2019, the Dead or Alive 6 delayed new date is March 1, 2019! This was announced on Twitter by the official KOEI Tecmo account.

In case you couldn’t read the message in the image, here’s what it says:

The title’s in development is already near complete; however we would like to take more time to further polish its balance, gameplay, and expressivity. In return for your patience, we commit to bringing you the best Dead or Alive gaming experience.

I am truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the release delay of Dead or Alive 6.

– Yohei Shimbori (Dead or Alive 6 Director and Producer)

Given that big titles such as Anthem (February 22), Metro Exodus (Feb. 15). Far Cry New Dawn (Feb. 15), and a slew more are coming within Dead or Alive 6’s release window, this is a good marketing move by KOEI Tecmo.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 League Play Coming End of January, Improved Looting in Blackout to Be in Patch 1.11

As part of today’s server-side hotfix update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Treyarch has also revealed some of the plans the studio has this month in regards to Black Ops 4 League Play, and some of the improvements planned in the next major patch (1.11).

Mastery Camos are now coming to Zombies and Blackout and planned for sometime in “late January.”

Mastery Camos in Zombies and Blackout

There is a reason these specific types of weapon progression camo are not shared across modes: they are designed to represent that players have completed a mode-specific challenge progression. Gameplay is very different across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout, and we want the bragging rights that go with these camos to mean something in the modes where they’re shown off. As such, we’re building out Mastery Camo progression systems in both Zombies and Blackout that have unique, custom-tailored challenges that will represent that players have completed challenges designed for the modes where they are equipped.

We’re planning to deliver Mastery Camos in both modes in late January as our teams continue to work on the next round of new features, content, and events coming to Black Ops 4 this year. Stay tuned to these community updates to be the first to know more.

Upcoming Zombies Features

Next week, we’re introducing the first series of this year’s new Zombies features and content with Gauntlets launching first in Voyage of Despair and the addition of three new Elixirs on PS4, plus new balancing changes to existing Elixirs! And as luck would have it, there’s a very Zombies-specific date coming up next week when we’ll have more details to share about these features and more for Zombies coming in 2019. See you then.

Improved Looting in Blackout on Consoles

After additional testing and iteration, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be rolling out a much-improved interface for looting in Blackout on consoles in next week’s 1.11 update! This includes an easier-to-navigate interface that allows console players to quickly scroll through a multi-row grid, loot the items they want, and get back into the fight even faster. Thanks for all of your feedback on the current Blackout experience, and watch for more details on our updated interface next week.

League Play

As we mentioned back in our Operation Absolute Zero announcement blog, the Black Ops 4 competitive season is a core focus for us heading into 2019. Now that we’ve built the foundation for our competitive feature set with the launches of CWL Custom Games, CODCaster, and Live Event Viewer, we’re dedicated to rolling out continuing World League Hub features over the coming months.

This all kicks off with the launch of League Play by the end of January, which we know many of you are eagerly anticipating. League Play will operate a little differently this time around. The system is designed to emulate a schedule more like the pros play, where League Play events will be intense and frequent but shorter duration, generally spanning weekends or 3-day periods.

In between those events, Scrims will be run as an unranked playlist using CWL rules so that players and teams can sharpen their skills before a competition. Both League Play events and Scrims will use skill-based matchmaking, where focus has been applied to making sure skill matches are as accurate as possible without resulting in empty lobbies or long wait times. League ladders will be built around 50-player groupings to ensure the most intense competition for these shorter-duration events. We’ll provide more around how the ranking system works along with other details as we approach the launch date.

Our planned schedule is to release the World League Hub and first League Play event by the end of January. That said, we want to make sure that we’ve spent enough time play-testing and incorporating feedback before it launches, so this date is subject to change. We love ranked play as much as you do, and that’s why we’re taking the time required to give League Play the attention it deserves. From there, we’ll continue to release new World League Hub features, including Teams and Clans for our competitive-focused players.

Timing on all of the above features is subject to change based on development, and we’ll keep everyone informed with more precise info as we get closer to launching these new features.

That’s a lot, right? Remember: these don’t even include the balance changes, new content coming in for the new season and more.

Let’s hope patch 1.11 also brings in the Combat Record since we’ve all been waiting quite some time for it.

BioWare Explains Why They’re Doing an Anthem Demo

In just a few short weeks, gamers will finally be able to get their hands on BioWare’s Anthem with the Anthem VIP and/or open demo set to hit the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

While Anthem getting an open demo is good news for those who don’t want to pre-order in order to gain access to the VIP demo, some gamers have strangely asked why the game is getting a demo in the first place. BioWare Lead Producer Michael Gamble has gone on Twitter to explain why, and he actually makes sense.

Had a few people ask me about why we are doing an open Demo. This is why:your money is hard earned. Games are an investment. We think it’s fair you get to try before you buy.The entire campaign has been one of transparency, and we think Anthem is cool to watch but AWESOME to play

Logical assumption would be is that BioWare believes they have a solid game in production, and the studio believes people getting a taste will hook them in, which is a good marketing ploy.

Fore more Anthem news, go check out the Storm class blowout to see what it can do. You can also check out the latest trailer from BioWare that was released yesterday.

The big one added is the Endurance Chaos Moshpit, which has Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, and Domination with 2x the score limits! Joining it are Deathmatch Moshpot (Kill Confirmed, TDM), Mercenary Capture Moshpit (Hardpoint, Domination, Control) for those who play solo.

Hopefully, we’ll get a proper game patch soon which we’re hoping will finally add the Combat Record (it was promised months ago), and maybe a fix for some game-breaking bugs found recently.

Once Treyarch reveals the full server-side update notes today, we’ll update the post.

Anthem Storm Javelin Class Profile – Watch the Abilities, Strengths and More

As part of the IGN network’s “IGN First,” month-long feature on Anthem, we now get to see the Anthem Storm javelin class get the spotlight treatment.

Watch the Storm class showcase its full arsenal of powers, and how the class is best when it’s airborne, and raining down area-of-effect (AoE) damage on enemies.

As you can see in the video, the Storm can hover well beyond compared to the other javelins, though at the cost of being a bit more brittle. The class has its shield bubble to fend off a finite amount of damage, and it has a teleport move to close the gap on enemies and to phase in and out of combat.

For more on Anthem, check out the PC requirements here, or watch the latest trailer from CES 2019 right here. There’s also a 15-minute gameplay footage of the Lost Arcanist mission being completed, which shows teamwork in action.
