Battlefield V Aerodrome Map Sneak Peek

DICE is set to unveil the eight Battlefield V maps that will be available at launch tomorrow (later?), and we get a small taste of what’s to come thanks to DICE Global Community Manager Dan Mitre.

Shown below are two screenshots of the Battlefield V Aerodrome map, with one map view, and the other an in-game action shot that shows how dirty the map is (in a good way).

According to Mitre, the blog post where the studio will talk about the eight maps will go live tomorrow. He also adds that the Aerodrome map is located in North Africa, and the hangar flag cap can get “intense.”

In other Battlefield V news, we posted the PC recommended and minimum requirements so you’ll know what kind of setup your PC needs to run the game. The revive icons have also been given a facelift, and can now relay what your teammate wants just by the icons!

Battlefield V Revive Icon Now Shows Different States, Weapons Can Still Be Obtained After a Chapter Ends

DICE has made a lot of changes to Battlefield V based on community feedback, and now you can add one more big change and that’s with how the revive icons look like on the field.

At launch, the Battlefield V revive icons will have three states: normal size for no action taken by the dead teammate, larger size and pulsating for those who are asking for help, and a smaller sized one that;s also faded for those who don’t want to be revived at all. Check it out in the video below.

Revive icon changes from beta: Three different states 1. Normal size – no action taken 2. Larger size/Pulsating – calling for help 3. Smaller size/Faded – skipping revive
by inBattlefieldV

If you’ve been keeping tabs on the latest Battlefield V Dev Talks episode, you might have noticed that mentioned the Madsen gun being a “chapter reward.” Now, for those worried that they’ll miss out on specific rewards for not being online during that time, don’t fret! DICE Multiplayer Producer David Sirland confirmed that only cosmetics will be locked behind chapters, and weapons can and will be unlocked via other means.

These are definitely good news for those looking forward to the shooter.

In other BFV news, we posted how you can get a free Battlefield V ing-game emblem earlier today. Make sure to also read up on the game’s progression, currency and economy that will be implemented at launch.

Here’s How to Get the Best Horse in Red Dead Redemption 2, No Story Progression Required

With Red Dead Redemption 2’s big, expansive in-game world, having a reliable horse to ride on is really important. And with the in-game horses permanently dying, it’s super important to find the right one, take care of it, so it’ll be around until you complete the game.

What if you’re looking for the best horse in the game though? We got you covered! While you can check out the video below posted by YoTuber Arrekz Gaming to watch it all unfold, the step-by-step guide can be read below for those who want a quicker way of digesting the info!

Remember: this is a horse that you can get at anytime as long as you can free-roam!

Step-by-step guide on How to Get the Best Horse in Red Dead 2:

  • Go to the top leftmost corner of the map (Lake Isabella).
  • It’s a snowy area, so have Arthur wear something for cold climates.
  • You’ll see the horse (Arabian) and it’s white, which makes it harder to see given the white, snowy backdrop. Just poke around the lake and it will be there. It’s a fixed spawn, so it’s guaranteed that the steed will be there.
  • It’s a wild horse, which means you’ll have to tame it.
  • Once you see the horse (remember: it’s an Arabian white horse), hold L2/LB to focus on the horse.
  • Walk slowly towards it, and DO NOT RUN at it or you’ll spook it away.
  • Pay close attention to the bar on the lower right hand corner of your screen, if the meter goes down and is about to run out, tap square to calm the horse down.
  • Every time the horse gets agitated or is about ready to go wild and run, stop moving so it doesn’t get spooked and leaves you biting the dust (er, snow?).
  • Continue approaching the horse slowly, being mindful of calming the horse down as you slowly move.
  • Once you’re close enough, pat it (square button).
  • Pat all done? Mount the horse!
  • Once you’ve mounted it, it will try to throw you off! Best thing to do is to hold the left analog stick down initially, and then hold it the opposite way the horse is moving (ie: if the horse tries to go left, hold right on the analog stick and so on).
  • The game will notify you once the horse is broken in.
  • Once you’ve done that, you can then get your saddle and put that on your brand new, super agile horse!

Here’s a screenshot of the horse’s stats:

As another sidenote, this breed of horse will become available in later parts of the game, but that requires you finish a certain part of the story before it’s available for purchase. So if you want to save, and get the best horse in the game right away, follow the instructions above.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Game Settings Have Changed and Brings COD Points & Special Orders

Treyarch has once again rolled out a sever-side hotfix for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4! If you noticed a Black Ops 4 game settings have changed message when you boot the game up, that means you need to back out, and let the hotfix install which should take just a few seconds.

This latest hotfix brings the COD Points back to the franchise, and for PS4 gamers, the Special Orders are now live, with PC and Xbox One owners getting it next week! Here’s the full patch notes straight from Treyarch!

Special Orders provide a new content stream to unlock in the Black Market with their own set of cosmetic items. With Special Orders, players can stack each tier with multiple items to unlock at once, allowing everyone to maximize item unlocks with two items per Tier at all times and up to three items per Tier when Special Events are live (like the Halloween event live right now!). Players can choose when to acquire and start progressing through Special Orders, and only one can be active at a time. Though Special Orders will rotate on a regular basis, they will stay in your inventory once acquired until they’re completed, and you can switch between active Special Orders at any time. Once a Special Order is activated, you’ll see the new content drop in starting on the Black Market Tier you’re currently on.

Now, onto everything that’s new today:

We’ve made the following updates to the game today (Global):

General

  • Black Ops Pass owners now receive a one-time bonus of 1,000 COD Points and 300 Nebulium Plasma.
  • COD Points can now be used to advance Black Market Tiers, access Special Orders in the Black Market, and acquire Nebulium Plasma in Zombies on PS4 (other platforms to follow next week).
  • Special Orders now available in Black Market on PS4 (other platforms to follow next week).

Multiplayer

  • Create-a-Class
    • Resolved an error associated with equipping a Signature Weapon, equipping an attachment, then re-equipping the same Signature Weapon.
    • Resolved an error associated with removing a Signature Weapon with any attachment equipped.

Miscellaneous

  • Full parties of 6 can now play in Chaos Domination.

Zombies

  • Miscellaneous
    • Resolved an issue where Camos did not apply properly to weapons.
    • Resolved an issue where the incorrect Pack-a-Punch Camo was applied to a weapon with attachments equipped.

We’ve also made the following update specific to PC:

  • General
    • Incorporated changes detailed in yesterday’s console game update.
    • Enabled Timeline Editor in Theater.
    • Resolved an issue that triggered a UI error when editing an Emblem.
  • Stability Improvements
    • Resolved crashes during the first seconds after launching the game.
    • Resolved crashes when exiting the game.
    • Resolved crashes when dropping from a match.
    • Resolved crashes when changing the graphics settings.
    • Resolved crashes in the Battle.net checkout page.
    • Resolved rendering issues with some special effects when playing with a wide FOV.
    • Resolved rendering issues with “missing” grass in Blackout.
  • Weapon Balancing
    • Additional PC-specific weapon balancing is in the works, as some weapons have performed differently in the PC meta compared to consoles. Please keep an eye on /u/TreyarchPC for full PC update details.

For the big patch that rolled out yesterday that included a weapon balance pass, check it out here.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Release Spikes “Red Dead” & “Western” Searches on Pornhub by 731%

We all know how hotly anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2 is, right? Well, it seems to some people, this kind of anticipation is met with a different kind of release. In a press release sent by Pornhub, the site statisticians dug up a little data, and found that a lot of people seem to be searching for some Red Dead Redemption 2 porn.

According to their data, Pornhub searches containing the word “red dead” began to increase several days before the game’s October 26 release date. This continued growing, as Rockstar Games released the final launch trailer and game details. Once released, searches still kept soaring and even hit a massive spike of 731% above average following the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2!

Porn watchers didn’t limit themselves to Red Dead 2 porn, either. Given the game’s western setting, it seems that was enough for some people as related terms like “western,” “cowboy,” and “wild west” all saw massive spikes in searches following the game’s launch.

Surprised? Or not really? For other, less porn-related Red Dead Redemption 2 news, go check out this unlimited money exploit that won’t affect your Trophy/Achievement capabilities. We also posted a nifty guide on how the game’s beard system works. Finally, Rockstar announced yesterday that Red Dead Redemption 2 now has the biggest opening weekend of any entertainment medium in history!

EA Has “Games” From Respawn That Are Slated to Launch by Next Holiday Season

While we already know that Respawn Entertainment is hard at work on a game based on the Star Wars IP, could the studio be releasing more than one game in 2019? In EA’s quarterly financials earnings call, Andrew Wilson talked about EA’s current and upcoming games, and mentions how Respawn has games (with an S!) that are slated to launch by next holiday season.

Across multiple studios, we have new projects underway, including games from Respawn that are slated to launch by next holiday season. – Andrew Wilson

In the same earnings call, Ryan Gee of Barclays Capital Inc. asked for a clarification about Respawn and whether we should expect games — as in plural from Respawn in the coming year!

Ryan Gee – Barclays Capital, Inc.

Okay great, and then just a quick clarification. It’s been a couple years since Respawn has done anything with its flagship Titanfall franchise, but I’m not sure if I heard that correctly. It sounded like we should expect games, plural, from Respawn I suppose next year. Did I hear that correctly? I know that you revealed Star Wars 2 at E3, but is there anything else that we should be aware of?

Blake Jorgensen, EA’s Chief Operating Officer, answered the question and said that we should consider that line by Andrew Wilson as “a little Easter egg.”

Blake J. Jorgensen – Electronic Arts, Inc.

So you weren’t coming through very loud. But I think I got what you said, which is you heard Andrew use a plural when he said games from Respawn. Just consider that a little Easter egg left in the earnings call for you. We’ll announce more when we get there. But clearly we’ve got a lot of things working with all of our studios, and you should assume that there will be some things that we haven’t announced that come out later in the year when we go to give guidance for next year.

Could EA also mean Titanfall 3 is set to be announced soon? As a huge fan of the franchise, I sure hope so. If not Titanfall 3, maybe a new game, then? Or Wilson might just have misspoke and the studio is only working on just the Star Wars game, but  there is Jorgensen’s little “Easter egg” comment, so make of that what you will. Speculate in the comments below.

Tetris Effect Demo Release Date and Game Modes Announced, Timed Demo Will Require a Net Connection

If you’re a fan of puzzle games and psychedelic visuals (ie: Lumines), then you might want to check out the Tetris Effect for the PlayStation 4 and PSVR.

In a press release sent out by Sony, we get a list of Tetris Effect’s modes, and the Tetris Effect demo release date, too. Called the “Tetris Effect: Weekend Trial Demo,” it will be available to everyone on the PlayStation Store this coming Thursday, November 1, and will run until November 5 on Monday. This is a limited time demo, and once it’s deactivated on November 5, it will no longer work. It will require an online connection, though it won’t require it for the final game.

The Tetris Effect: Weekend Trial Demo consists of three stages of the main “Journey Mode” campaign (FYI: 27 total Journey Mode stages in the final game), as well as two “Effect Modes” (FYI: 10+ in the final game): Marathon Mode and Mystery Mode. These modes are explained in greater detail below, along with all the other Effect Modes.

A special “Weekend Ritual” event will run for 24 hours over the demo weekend during which all players of the Weekend Trial Demo can play a specified mode to earn points towards a Community Goal. If 100 percent of the Community Goal is reached within 24 hours, a special in-game avatar will unlock for all players who participated. This sort of event will run every weekend once the full game launches this November 9, and will spotlight a different Effects Mode each week.

TETRIS® EFFECT: MODE SUMMARIES

EFFECT MODES

These are all the other modes in the game – a collection of varying setups and rules designed to evoke different moods the player might be in (or want to be in), as well as varying skill levels

Effect Modes are divided into four categories based loosely on what “effect” the player is meant to come away with, i.e. chill out with “Relax”, concentrate with “Focus”, enjoy the familiarity / nostalgia of “Classic” modes, or try something unique with “Adventurous.”

QUICK PLAY MODE

Play through any single stage you choose with no Game Over.

PLAYLIST MODE: SEA

Submerge yourself in four aquatic stages with a new, continuous track of specially designed relaxing ambient music.

PLAYLIST MODE: WIND

Glide through four windy stages with a new, continuous track of specially designed relaxing ambient music.

PLAYLIST MODE: WORLD

Explore four diverse stages with a new, continuous track of specially designed relaxing ambient music.

  1. EFFECT MODE CATEGORY: FOCUS

ALL CLEAR MODE

  1. EFFECT MODE CATEGORY: ADVENTUROUS

COUNTDOWN MODE

Use automatically-falling I-Tetriminos to score line clears and bonus points.

PURIFY MODE

Clear as many Dark Blocks as you can within three minutes. You can clear Dark Blocks by clearing the line that they are on, and / or by scoring multiple line clears, combos, etc.

  • Fixed an issue where the “Elite Pilot” Star Card, would not increase the turn speed for Lando’s Millenium Falcon.
  • Fixed an issue where Lando’s Millennium Falcon would occasionally not receive damage when attacked from behind.

GENERAL CHANGES/MISC

  • The layout of the Hero selection grid on Heroes Vs. Villains, Hero Showdown and Hero Starfighters has been revised to make room for the addition of new characters.
  • Fixed an issue where the Hero Details screen would not display the fourth Ability for Iden’s TIE Fighter and Poe’s T-70 X-Wing.
  • Fixed some rare rendering issues (exploding character meshes) noticed when playing on PC.
  • Fixed an issue where the appearance screen UI would occasionally show up in-game, if the player pressed a combination of buttons right after deploying in the game.
  • Fixed a spelling error on the description of Palpatine’s “Lighting Reach” Star Card.
  • “FIRST ORDER AT-ST” is now capitalized in the Collection tab to be consistent with all vehicle names.
  • Fixed an issue where the description for the in-game store crystal packs would not be translated in all supported languages.
  • Fixed an issue where the in-game milestone pop-up would occasionally not get triggered when the user completes a Timed Challenge.
  • Updated the description of the Timed Challenge “With A Strong Hand” to fit with the challenge’s progress requirements.
  • Fixed an issue where the game’s sound would occasionally cut abruptly during gameplay and remain inactive until the game was restarted.

TEAM SIZE

  • Implemented a limit in the difference of team sizes before a mode can start. This way, a mode cannot start with an unbalanced size in teams.

The maximum difference in team sizes are:

  • Galactic Assault: 4
  • Starfighter Assault: 2
  • Strike: 2
  • Blast: 2
  • Extraction: 2
  • Hero Modes already require even team sizes.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • An issue has occurred where the selected heroes are not always highlighted on the deploy screen when playing Heroes Vs. Villains or Hero Showdown. The issue is being investigated and expected to be fixed at a later update.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Update 1.04 Is Now Live, Brings in Gun Game and Weapon Balance Pass (Update)

Update:

The patch notes are here! Check ’em out below (via Reddit):

We’ve made the following updates to the game today on consoles (PC update to follow shortly with additional PC-specific changes and improvements):

Multiplayer

  • Playlist Updates
    • Featured Playlists
      • “Gun Game” playlist added to Featured Playlist (no parties allowed).
      • “Mercenary Deathmatch Moshpit” playlist added to the Featured Category (TDM and Kill Confirmed, no parties allowed).
      • “Chaos Domination” playlist to Featured Category (3-second captures, 150-point rounds, 6v6).
    • Hardcore TDM / Hardcore Kill Confirmed
      • Player count increased to 6v6.
      • 2 Specialist limit per team.
  • Assault Rifles
    • We’re dialing back some previous buffs to Assault Rifles to help close the gap in effectiveness between ARs and SMGs, allowing SMGs to be more effective at firing on the move.
    • Slight reduction to ADS move speed for all Assault Rifles.
    • Slight reduction to ADS-in transition speed for all Assault Rifles.
    • ICR-7
      • Reduced headshot damage.
      • Slight reduction to reload speed.
    • VAPR-XKG
      • Reduced close-range headshot damage.
      • Damage now falls off sooner.
      • High Caliber: Reduced headshot multiplier, eliminating the possibility of a 3-hit kill.
  • Submachine Guns
    • Mobility is the primary strength of SMGs, speeding across the map to engage or disengage quickly. Some of the close-range SMGs were performing quite well, while others struggled to compete with the rest of the category. This week’s balancing pass levels the playing field between SMGs.
    • MX9
      • Extended all damage ranges.
      • High Caliber: Reduced headshot multiplier, eliminating the possibility of a 4-hit kill.
    • Cordite
      • Extended all damage ranges.
      • Belt-Feed Operator Mod: Increased overheat rate.
    • GKS
      • Quad Shot Operator Mod: Slight time increase in between bursts.
    • Saug 9mm
      • Dual Wield Operator Mod: Reduced hip-fire accuracy.
  • Tactical Rifles
    • We’ve buffed the ABR to be more competitive with the other Tactical Rifles, while stepping down its Operator Mod to keep it from becoming a crutch Attachment. The Swordfish received some Attachment adjustments, as well.
    • ABR 223
      • Extended maximum damage range.
      • Repeater Operator Mod: Now takes longer to accelerate fire rate.
      • Stock: Slight reduction in movement speed bonus.
      • Laser Sight & Laser Sight II: Improved hip-fire accuracy.
    • Swordfish
      • High Caliber: Reduced headshot multiplier, eliminating the possibility of a 3-hit kill.
      • Penta Burst Operator Mod: Reduced extra granted clip-size.
  • Sniper Rifles
    • The other Sniper Rifles needed help to fight King Paladin. We’re giving these rifles reduced idle sway and upping their damage to help finish off wounded targets more consistently.
    • Removed turn sway when aiming down sights on all Sniper Rifles to better ensure the weapon reticle stays centered when turning.
    • Paladin HB50
      • High Caliber II: Hitting the lower torso on a full Tak-5-boosted enemy will no longer be a 1-hit kill.
      • FMJ II: Improved damage against Scorestreaks.
      • Stabilizer II: Player can now hold breath sooner after the previous hold breath.
    • Outlaw
      • Improved base damage from 110 to 130.
      • Reduced idle sway.
      • Increased base movement speed.
      • Stock: Slight increase in ADS movement speed bonus.
    • SDM
      • Increased clip size from 10 to 12.
      • Reduced idle sway.
    • Koshka
      • Improved Damage from 120 to 140.
      • Stock: Slight increase in ADS movement speed bonus.
  • Light Machine Guns
    • Some in the community have discovered that the Titan and VKM 750 are extremely effective weapons! We’re toning them down before everyone jumps on the bandwagon. While they’ll still be scary to face off against, players will now have a more reasonable chance to defend themselves against these LMGs.
    • Titan
      • Reduced headshot damage.
      • Reduced hip-fire accuracy.
      • Stock: Reduced ADS movement speed bonus.
    • VKM 750
      • Reduced movement speed while firing.
      • Reduced damage slightly.
      • Fat Barrel Operator Mod: Reduced bullet tracer size.
    • Hades
      • Cross Bar Operator Mod: Reduced movement speed and accuracy.
      • Steady Grip: Improved recoil mitigation.
  • Pistols
    • Slight reduction to ADS-in transition speed for all Pistols.
    • RK 7 Garrison
      • Slight increase to the time between bursts.
      • Slight reduction to reload speed.
  • Shotguns
    • This weapon class is close to where we want it, with only a couple of specific Attachments performing better than intended. Shotguns in Black Ops 4 play a different role than in past Call of Duty titles, and those who have practiced cat-and-mouse gameplay can be highly effective with them.
    • MOG 12
      • Choked Barrel: 1-hit-kill range reduced.
      • Dragon’s Breath Operator Mod: Resolved an issue where the Dragon’s Breath occasionally triggered incorrect visual and sound FX on targets.
    • SG12
      • Strobe Light Operator Mod: Addressed an issue with the Strobe Light where it would remain on after death.
      • Live update coming soon to reduce the range at which the Strobe Light interferes with enemy aim.
  • Attachments (All Weapons)
    • Grip II
      • Reduced ADS flinch mitigation.
    • Suppressor
      • Reduced damage falloff ranges.
    • Holographic Sight Optic
      • Reduced ADS recoil.
    • Dual Zoom Optic
      • Reduced ADS recoil.
    • Recon Optic
      • Reduced ADS recoil.
    • ELO Optic
      • Slightly increased ADS recoil.
  • Specialists
    • Ajax
      • We’re providing more strategic options to counteract Ballistic Shield, and to help ensure the Shield isn’t activated too often in the same game.
      • Explosives now apply partial damage to the front of a deployed Ballistic Shield user.
      • Ballistic Shield now takes longer to earn.
    • Nomad
      • We want to encourage Nomad to work more closely with his K9-Unit to maximize effectiveness.
      • Reduced K9-Unit health by 10%.
    • Crash
      • While we’re happy that our Support Specialist is so popular, he was a bit tooeffective as a Scorestreak farmer.
      • Reduced “Teammate Used Pack” score event from +50 to +25.
    • Firebreak
      • Purifier has been restored to its former glory.
      • Increased Purifier flame damage to be a guaranteed eventual kill against a player who doesn’t have Tactical Mask equipped.
    • Recon
      • Intelligence wins wars, and Recon is living proof. We have intelligence that Recon’s intelligence is too good, so we’re re-classifying some of his sources.
      • Reduced Sensor Dart duration.
      • Resolved an issue where voiceover would incorrectly state that the player’s Sensor Dart was destroyed.
    • Torque
      • Many in the community have embraced Torque with inventive playstyles, though he’s still struggling on a broader scale. We bolstered the effectiveness of his Barricade to ensure he stays relevant in team compositions.
      • Increased earn rate for Barricade.
      • Increased hit points for Barricade.
      • Addressed an issue that prevented TAACOM from telling the player that their Barricade was taking damage.
    • Prophet
      • Prophet’s Tempest needed an upgrade to stand a chance of competing with the rest of the Specialists.
      • Greatly increased Tempest projectile speed.
      • Slightly increased Tempest chain distance.
      • Resolved an issue where being hit by an explosive charge would disable the Tempest charge, preventing further arcing.
  • Spawns
    • Team Deathmatch
      • Tuned spawn logic around how enemies impact where the game chooses to respawn the player.
      • Spawn adjustments made for Slums, Summit, Militia, and Firing Range.
    • Domination
      • Spawn adjustments made for Icebreaker, Contraband, Hacienda, Payload, Gridlock, Slums, Summit, Militia, Jungle, and Firing Range.
    • Hardpoint
      • Tuned spawn logic tuning around how the active Hardpoint affects nearby spawns. This should provide more predictable spawns when battling over an active Hardpoint.
      • Additional global spawn adjustments to improve the ability for a player to anchor a location for their team’s respawns relative to an active Hardpoint.
      • Spawn adjustments made for Frequency and Seaside.
    • Free For All
      • Spawn adjustments made for Slums, Summit, Militia, and Firing Range.
    • Control
      • Spawn adjustments made for Slums, Summit, Militia, and Firing Range.
  • Gear
    • Stim Shot
      • Increased time to fully heal the player.
    • Armor
      • Resolved an issue where Armor protected from more damage than intended when hitting areas of the body that have damage multipliers, such as the head or upper chest. This primarily affects weapons with chest modifiers, such as Sniper Rifles or weapons with High Caliber II.
    • Acoustic Sensor
      • Reduced the range at which sprinting enemies are detected.
  • Perks
    • Dead Silence
      • Reduced player movement volume and distance that players equipped with Dead Silence can be heard by enemies. The intention for Dead Silence is not to be completely silent, but also not to allow enemies to hear your movement from longer distances.
    • Engineer
      • Extraction helicopter in Heist will no longer be highlighted by the Engineer Perk.
  • Scorestreaks
    • Mantis
      • Resolved an issue where the Mantis could be destroyed by touching the Out-Of-Bounds area of a map.
    • Dart
      • Increased explosion radius and damage.
      • Players can now use a second Dart when earning two Dart Scorestreaks.
    • Strike Team
      • Prevented Strike Team kills from contributing towards owner’s kills without dying medals.
  • Gameplay
    • Reduced ranges required for Longshot Medals for Assault Rifles, Tactical Rifles, Submachine guns, and Light Machine Guns.
    • Resolved an issue where the “Hard Stop” Challenge could reset before reaching 300.
    • Resolved an issue where the “Marksman Mastery” Challenge would not give 10,000 XP upon completion.
    • Resolved an issue where destroying friendly Scorestreaks would award score.
    • Players can no longer crouch or go prone while performing a Gesture.
  • Game Modes
    • Increased XP earn rate in Heist.
    • Increased amount of XP earned per kill in Free For All.
    • Resolved an issue where Hardcore wins were not counted toward Challenges.
    • Resolved an issue in Free For All where Recon players could receive Vision Pulse assist score.
    • Silent Plant option in Custom Games should now make planting and defusing bombs completely silent.
  • Maps
    • Icebreaker
      • Adjusted cover pieces to discourage players from spawn-camping.
      • Added cover to the lower respawn side.
    • Slums
      • Adjusted cover pieces to discourage players from spawn-camping.
    • Miscellaneous
      • Several map fixes to address exploits that allowed players to leave the intended play space.
  • Theater
    • Theater files recorded before this update will no longer be viewable due to significant architectural changes to the system. As noted in our previous major update, we will make every effort to keep instances of incompatibility to a minimum.
    • Added a watermark in the HUD that only displays when in Theater mode.
      • Why this change? We often see players posting videos recorded from Theater as a demonstration of “poor hit detection” or other issues that appear to be incorrect. While Theater represents what happened in a match in a general sense, it does not reflect with 100% accuracy all of the details as they were experienced live. Live recorded gameplay footage is the more accurate method for reporting behavior in the game that is not performing as expected. With this change, we can better identify Theater clips when reviewing community videos and therefore filter them out for the more accurate live recorded clips.
  • Audio
    • Resolved issues that caused footsteps to sound muffled when they shouldn’t be.

Blackout

  • Playlists
    • 100-Player Solos added to Featured playlist.
    • Maximum player count set to 88 for Duos and Quads.
  • Audio
    • Tweaked settings to ensure friendly teammates’ footsteps are now quieter than enemy footsteps.
    • Adjusted footsteps for all Armor types in first-person and third-person to give better directionality and distance information.
    • Resolved an issue that occasionally caused footsteps to be silent.
    • Resolved issues that caused footsteps to become muffled when they shouldn’t be.
  • Armor
    • Armor now allows more damage to pass through to areas of the body that have damage multipliers, such as the head or upper chest. For example, headshots now do more damage against Level 3 Armor.
  • Character Missions
    • Unlocked remaining Specialist Character Missions (Battery, Firebreak, Nomad, Prophet, Ruin, Seraph)
  • “Item Found” Notifications
    • To tag an item for your teammate, approach the Item and select the bottom center command on your Command Wheel. This will display the Item in text on your team’s HUD and highlight the item in the world for your team.
    • Increased the brightness of Items when a teammate tags them as “Item Found” via the Command Wheel.
    • Increased duration that Items tagged using “Item Found” are displayed in the world to your team.
  • Calling Cards and Challenges

    • Resolved an issue where incorrect Inventory items could be shown while spectating another player.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Resolved an issue that allowed players to shoot through certain rocks.
    • Improved visual quality of the grass.
    • Resolved an issue where the After Action Report would show double damage when in Squads.

Original Story:

It’s finally here! Treyarch’s promised major Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 update is now live (at least on PS4 and Xbox One), and it is indeed hefty!

Clocking in at a hefty 10.9GB on PS4, and 12GB on Xbox One, this latest Black Ops 4 update should be the community’s first weapon balance pass (hopefully, SMGs are buffed, and some weapons are toned down). No official patch notes are live from Treyarch just yet, but the studio has announced that Gun Game is now part of the game modes!

Once the patch is live, we’ll be sure to update the post ASAP.

Let’s hope that part of the tweaks included are a better server experience for everyone, no? Don’t forget to check out our Black Ops 4 review, as well as our pick for the top five guns in the game which might need to be reevaluated once we’ve given the patch enough time to circulate.

What weapons do you want to see nerfed? The ICR-7? Or something else? Should the SMGs be given considerable buffs or just a smidge? Let us now what you think in the comments!

This Red Dead Redemption 2 Money Exploit Is Easy to Do and Won’t Affect Trophies/Achievements

If you’re playing Red Dead Redemption 2, then there’s a big chance that you’re hard up for cash. Sure, you can rob, steal and just be a dick to gain some easy money, but doing that will have the law in every town looking after you, which means you won’t ever stop running, and who wants that, right?

Thankfully, there’s a Red Dead 2 money glitch/cheat that won’t affect your Trophy and Achievement completion rate, and it’s relatively easy to do! It’s a gold bar collecting glitch that Rockstar Games should patch away quite soon. Explained by YouTuber Dat Saiontsfan, check it out in action below.

If’ you want the more condensed version, we’ve outlined that for your convenience too!

Step-by-step guide on the Red Dead 2 money cheat using the gold bar exploit:

  • Find an area with a gold bar that you can get BUT it’s important that it includes a document/letter with it (check the video to see what I mean). One such area that has a gold bar in a beaten up Sheriff station is just south of Valentine in an area called “Limpany.” Note that if the gold bar location does NOT include a letter/document, the cheat will NOT work.
  •  Turn off auto-save in the options menu.
  • Create 2-3 save files for the current game you’re in just in case you want to revert back to your previous progress, second save file is for when the money glitch doesn’t work, and the third save is the one you’ll actually use for the Red Dead 2 money cheat/exploit.
  • If you see a letter/document, go save the game and overwrite the third save slot/file you created.
  • Once you’ve saved it, go back out and reload the game file you just saved, which will trigger the gold bar glitch!
  • You’ll spawn a little far away from where the gold bar is located, so you need to ride your horse to get back to it.
  • Once at the location, you’ll see the box with the gold bar is now open, but the letter will no longer be included with it.
  • If you manage all that, just hold X to pick up the maximum carry limit of 30 golden bars, which you can sell for $500 each in the game! This equates to $15.000 per glitch, which should be more than enough to get your camp stocked, upgraded, and more.
  • You can do this as many times as you want!

Note that this glitch/exploit is active now, but there’s a good chance Rockstar will patch this out soon, so best get to it before they do.

In other non-cheating Red Dead Redemption 2 help, we posted a list of handy tips for the game straight from the community! We also posted a Red Dead Redemption 2 beard guide that will educate you on how fast your in-game beard can grow, and more.

Sandbox

    • Increased Explosive Shadow detonation damage
    • Increased damage against Taken and invaders
  • Wish-Ender
    • Increased base Wish-Ender damage
    • Fixed an issue where Wish-Ender’s Broadhead perk would not activate properly, which would result in a loss of damage
    • Wish-Ender’s Queen’s Wrath perk effects are now more readable and consistent
  • Trace Rifles
    • Now spawn with 50 ammo in the Crucible
    • Now benefit from the following armor perks:
    • Auto Rifle Loader
    • Unflinching Auto Rifle Aim
    • Auto Rifle Targeting
    • Precision Weapon Targeting
    • Auto Rifle Dexterity
  • Increased Sword damage in PvE
  • Increased Fusion Rifle damage in PvE
  • Proximity Grenades now have a stat penalty to blast radius
  • Reduced the amount by which Full Choke narrows projectile spread
  • Changed the Dynamo and Distribution perks
    • Players will need to activate your class ability in proximity to at least one enemy to gain the benefit
    • Increased the energy gain by 20% to compensate slightly for the new requirement
    • Fixed an issue where Dynamo’s effect was not scaling based on the player’s class type; the Distribution perk had this, but it was unintentionally left out of Dynamo

General

  • Increased visibility through a Titan’s Banner Shield for allies
  • The White Nail perk should no longer occasionally activate before the player achieves the required number of precision hits
  • Fixed an issue where the SUROS Regime scope was opaque yellow

Combatants

General

  • Fixed an issue where Vex Cyclopes weren’t attacking players
  • Fixed an issue where Hive Knights and Taken Vandals were not using special abilities

Activities

Crucible

  • Breakthrough
    • Decreased attacker respawn time from 7 seconds to 5 seconds after the Breaker is deployed
    • Modified the game rules to prevent teams from forcing the round into a stalemate:
      • In the initial fight over the Breaker, the team with the most capture progress (high-water mark) will win the Breaker if time runs out without any Breaker progress present. There will still be overtime if time runs out with progress present, and the Breaker will go to the team with current progress at the end of 30 seconds, or to the high-water mark if progress reaches zero with no players on the Breaker.
      • While a team is hacking the other team’s Vault, progress decay accelerates gradually during Sudden Death for up to 30 seconds, after which the round will end the moment no attackers are present in the capture zone.
    • If the round ends in a draw twice, the match ends in a tie.
    • Neither team will get Glory points from this scenario.
    • Win Streaks are maintained.

Gambit

  • Sleeper Simulant now gains less ammo from Heavy ammo crates on the wall in Gambit (now 2, down from 4)
  • Swords now gain more ammo from Heavy ammo crates on the wall in Gambit (now 12, up from 6)
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes one team’s invasion portal would not open
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes the wrong team would be credited for defeating the Ascendant Primeval
  • Increased the spawn rate of the Ascendant Primeval Servitor

Items and Economy

Exotic Duplicate Weighting

  • When a player receives an Exotic, we now take into account all Exotics the player has found and weight them against Exotics they have yet to acquire. This lowers the player’s chances of receiving Exotics they already own.
  • Exotics that the player does not yet own are individually weighted much higher than duplicate Exotics
  • When receiving duplicate Exotics, the player is more likely to earn armor pieces as these have randomly rolled perks
  • Removed quest Exotic weapons from the Exotic engram loot pool
    • Worldline Zero
    • Ace of Spades
    • Wish-Ender
    • One Thousand Voices
    • Malfeasance
    • Lord of Wolves
    • The Chaperone

Enhancement Cores

  • Renamed Masterwork Cores to Enhancement Cores
  • Enhancement Cores are now awarded by Scrapper bounties and six of the Spider’s weekly bounties
  • Enhancement Cores will be more visible in the loot feed

General

  • Removed hold time for the Spider’s material exchange interactions
  • Increased the stack size of Ghost Fragments from 10 to 20
  • Reduced shader dismantle time from 1 second to 0.25 seconds
  • Fixed an issue where the Secret Victories emblem was using the wrong tracker description
  • It now correctly displays as “Ascendant chests looted”
  • The requirements for the Queen’s Bounty “Purification Ritual” have been clarified and now list the target as “Abyssal Champions” instead of “Swordbearing Knights”
  • Raid challenge bounties now rotate in a fixed, round-robin fashion
  • Nightfall unique rewards will drop more consistently; the longer players go without a unique drop, the higher their chances of a unique reward on their next Nightfall completion
  • The chance resets once a player receives any Nightfall unique reward
