Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Exo Survival Co-Op Mode – First Details

See Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s new Exo Surival co-op multiplayer trailer?

IGN got to play it, so here are a few details on what we saw in the latest video and what you’ll get to play in addition to Advanced Warfare’s single player and multiplayer on November 3.

Exo Survival supports one to four players, including two-payer split-screen. Taking place on Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer maps, the mode rotates through a series, or “tier”, of four. Players will unlock new tiers of maps as they progress through the mode. Completing 35 rounds, for example, scores you access to Tier 2 maps. Completing 100 rounds unlocks Tier 4.

As you progress, a random objective will pop up every 10 rounds. Completing it will net you additional upgrade points, while failing it will punish you with certain penalties, like having to face additional sentry guns in the next round.

Three classes are available to choose from as well, Light, Heavy, and Specialist, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Like Modern Warfare 3’s co-op survival mode, you’ll get the chance to make upgrades in between rounds. Only, this time, you can put points into your Exo Suit in addition to weapons, grenades, etc.

According to IGN’s Ryan McCaffrey, “it’s just like Halo’s Firefight or Gears of War’s Horde mode,” but “incredibly fun in a uniquely Call of Duty way.”

So far, the highest round reached in play testing is 65, so that will be the number to beat come launch!

Check out a special in-depth look at the latest trailer with Sledgehammer Games Co-Founder Michael Condrey:

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Co-Op Mode Revealed – Exo Survival

Sledgehammer Games unveils the third pillar to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, co-op multiplayer.

Exo Survival is a four-player co-op mode that joins Advanced Warfare single player and competitive multiplayer experiences this Fall.

According to the trailer above, which appears to show off footage from both the new mode and the game’s single player campaign, it looks like players will be able to take on missions as a team in Advanced Warfare’s competitive multiplayer maps, using their Exo Suits to survive against increasingly difficult waves enemies.

From what we can see, it appears Sledgehammer is building off of their original work on Advanced Warfare 3’s co-op survival mode, this time adding a bit of a twist to it with the use of Exo Suit abilities.

What did you think of the trailer?

PSA – Destiny Players Experiencing Vault of Glass Raid Loot & Completion Bug

If you’ve been grinding and farming away on Earth or other locations in the explorable solar system to build your ranks and access the Vault of Glass raid that launched last week, you may be in for a bad time.

Users who’ve recently completed the raid have posted concerns on the Bungie forums that they are experiencing a lack of post-raid loot and are even stating that the game isn’t telling them that they cleared the raid, even though they’ve received achievements/trophies showing that they did. To add salt to the wound, it seems like going into orbit and then coming back to the raid restarts it.

While Bungie has yet to acknowledge the very prevalent problem, it should be noted that players who’ve played the raid before have received their rewards, so it’s advised that you take on the raid at your own risk, even though loot may not be guaranteed at the moment.

Keep your sights on MP1st and we’ll keep you updated!

Rumor – First Person POV Coming To Next-Gen Grand Theft Auto

Reddit user DrOversight has come across a Google web cache of an unreleased updated made by Rockstar in their support forums which lists quite a bit of information about the next-gen releases of one of the best-selling video games of all time.

The star of the supposed post is the addition of a first-person point of view for both walking and while driving cars:

  • A brand new first person mode for vehicles that shows the interior of the vehicle, including working speedometers, tachometers, dash lights, and more
  • A brand new first person mode while on foot

Other information includes:

  • A wealth of new easter eggs and random events for Story Mode
  • New animals roaming Los Santos
  • Animals in GTA Online?
  • Players that transfer characters from Xbox 360 or PS3 will receive free new weapons and a free garage in GTA Online.
  • Newly overhauled character selection screen

While this may be a Google Cache of an official website, Rockstar seems to have either postponed the information being released, or it has been faked. So, as always, take it with a grain of salt.

If it does happen to be true, are you excited to see official support for a first-person point of view in Grand Theft Auto V? For more Grand Theft Auto V news, be sure to keep your sights on MP1st.

How to Play Battlefield Hardline’s New Hotwire Game Mode

Having recently unveiled Battlefield Hardline’s newest vehicle-based game mode, Hotwire, Visceral Games Lead Multiplayer Designer Thad Sasser has got a few tips on how to play it properly when the game launches early next year.

On the official Battlefield Blog, Sasser wrote up 10 things you need to know about Hotwire. Prepare yourself by reading them below.

Hotwire: drive stolen cars fast

“Whether you’re the Cops or the Criminals, the goal is to get to the marked cars and drive fast! Driving a marked car causes you to begin to bleed the enemy team’s tickets – so make sure you hang onto the ride and continue to drive.”

Standing still ain’t helping no one

“You’re not going to score points or bleed tickets if you’re not driving. Drive fast to fill the capture bar – now you’re helping!”

Cool jumps = sweet rewards

“Speaking of scoring points, did you know that doing cool jumps will get you extra score? Show off your moves!”

Get your crew to help you!

“Riding solo won’t be as safe as getting someone to ride shotgun with you. Have a buddy tag along to throw Breaching Charges behind you, getting enemies off your tail. Pack your Sedan with friends and take down enemy cars before they can bleed your tickets out.”

Sabotage is the enemy of your enemy

“Putting sabotage on a car is a pretty sneaky move. Putting sabotage on a marked car? Well, that’s just downright mean. Ensure that what’s yours stays yours – or no one’s!”

Control the Battle Pickups

“Constantly getting blown up? Those RPG’s that keep killing you are inside that building over there. You might want to spend some effort trying to control this resource. After all, who doesn’t dig huge explosions?”

No car?  Shoot a driver!

“Can’t find a marked car to capture? No worries – set up an ambush and pick off the driver. Once you’ve dumped him out of the car, drive off into the sunset with your new wheels.”

Create roadblocks and control the roads

“Each Hotwire map has a couple of key locations that you need to learn and stake out if you want to bring down your enemies. Park your squad car across the lanes, maybe rig it with breaching charges or trip mines – and funnel the enemies into your line of fire! That will teach ‘em to come onto your turf!”

The Tracking Dart is the friend of your friend

“You grizzled old vets might remember this little number from a game called Battlefield Bad Company 2. Yes, the tracking dart is back! Stick one of these bad boys to an enemy or his ride and your entire team will know exactly where he is. It provides the added benefit of allowing RPG’s and other rockets to lock on to it and nail it with laser-like accuracy. You can’t outrun a rocket! Well, maybe you can, but it’s not easy.”

A mighty convoy

“I mentioned working with your friends in the same vehicle – but you can help by riding alongside too! Team up and escort a friend, use your car to take out potential threats, disrupt roadside ambushes, and in general be a pain for the enemy and their plans. Driving in a convoy not only gives the enemy more threats to worry about, it also splits their fire between many targets, increasing survivability for everyone. At least that’s what the theory says.”

Visceral Testing Bad Company 2 Class Balance in Battlefield Hardline

We want it. You want it. We all want Battlefield: Bad Company 3. If not, then at least a Battlefield game that captures that distinct Bad Company spirit we’ve all fallen so deeply in love with.

Visceral’s upcoming cops and criminals-themed Battlefield spin-off isn’t quite Bad Company 3. But, as it turns out, it appears that the multiplayer design team behind Hardline has taken note of our excitement for the fan-favorite series and is looking into a few ways to bring that magic into their Battlefield game.

Through fan interaction on Twitter, we learned that the studio is now experimenting with a Bad Company-style class set up where the rifle-carrying Assault class supplies ammunition and the LMG-wielding Support class hands out med-packs. This is similar to the way classes were set up in the Bad Company series, which was later altered back when Battlefield 3 came along in 2011.

According to Visceral lead multiplayer designer Thad Sasser, classes in Hardline’s Tokyo Game Show build are, in fact, set up the way they were in Bad Company.

If you were a big fan of that set-up, don’t get too pumped just yet, however. There’s still no telling if it will make it into the final game; “Were still experimenting with the best combos though,” Sasser added “So we’ll see what we discover!”

When we spoke to Sasser to gather material four our Hardline preview, we learned that he’s actually quite the fan of the Bad Company series and hopes to get “…back to that crisp-ness and that kind of snappy-ness of the core combat…” that he thinks “…was really so interesting and awesome about Bad Company 2 at its heart.”

What’s your take on Battlefield’s current class set-up? Do you prefer the Bad Company-style, or the newer Battlefield 3 / Battlefield 4-style?

New Advanced Warfare Screen Teases New Multiplayer Map, Prestige Emblem & Private Match Menu

Sledgehammer Games studio co-founder Michael Condrey posted a new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare image on social media today teasing the game’s Private Match menu while also teasing a new multiplayer map and Prestige emblem.

ByArKuBCMAE7NPh

Condrey’s soldier carries a blinged-out riot shield and a rather intimidating helmet while prepping for a match of TDM on the map Greenband, a new battleground we’ve yet to see in action.

You’ll also see a nifty new Prestige emblem, though we’re not sure which Prestige it represents. Condrey teased the 7th Prestige emblem last week, confirming that Advanced Warfare will sport 50 ranks and 15 Prestige levels in total.

Also last week, the studio introduced two new multiplayer maps to Advanced Warfare’s roster; Retreat and Recovery

Report – Hidden Destiny PvP Playlist on Mercury Discovered, Called “Trials of Osiris”

Just over a week after launch and it appears that gamers may have dug up a pretty nifty hidden secret in Destiny that has yet to be uncovered.

As NowGamer reports, players who’ve data-mined Destiny’s files for hidden information have discovered a new competitive multiplayer playlist called “Trials of Osiris”. According to the playlist’s description, “only the worthy may face the Trials of Osiris” which takes place on the planet Mercury, a location that has yet to be explored in the game’s story thus far.

It also reads that the playlist consists of the 3 vs. 3 Skirmish game mode:

“Trials of Osiris (Skirmish): 3v3. You have caught the eye of Osiris. Venture to Mercury and prove yourself as one of the Crucible’s elite. Only the worthy may face the Trials of Osiris, for only the worthy are strong enough to endure what is to come. A string of victories will earn great rewards – but lose three times and you’re out.”

Additional information indicates that the playlist and map is only accessible by earning a Tournament Ticket, a rare item drop that can be attained by scoring wins in the Crucible. Better chances awarded to those who’ve increased their Activity Reward Bonus by scoring at least 25 wins in a particular game mode.

A Tournament Ticket will grant you access to the new playlist on Mercury, but it doesn’t mean you can stay there forever. As per the description, any more than three defeats and you’ll lose access until you’ve earned yourself another Tournament Ticket. The longer you stay in the Trials of Osiris, the better your rewards will be.

No reports of anyone actually earning a Tournament Ticket have surfaced as of yet, so take everything with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, it sounds exciting and hopefully someone will earn themselves the rare drop soon so we can all see what it’s about.

Live this weekend is Destiny’s Combined Arms Crucible playlist with more Salvage and Iron Banner playlists to take place in the coming weeks. Check out the details here.

Keep your sights on MP1st for more Destiny updates.

Destiny – 1 Billion Players Have Died In The Crucible, PvP Balancing Is Being Discussed

Destiny has been out for just over a week, and already Xbox and PlayStation gamers are racking up some impressive stats and numbers, solidifying the IP as one of the biggest launches in video game history.

According to a recent post from developer Bungie, 100 million hours of Destiny have been played so far, which is enough to watch the Special Extended Edition of the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy 8,797,635 times.

You’ve also taken part in 137 million in-game activities — matches in the Crucible included — which is the equivalent to 535,156 regular seasons of the NFL.

Bungie also states that 3 hours is the average gameplay session on weekdays. On weekends, that number is boosted up to 4 hours on average.

Lastly, 1 billion players have perished in the Crucible since launch.

With over a week of game time, Bungie went on to answer a few questions from fans, revealing that, while the studio doesn’t have any solid plans just yet, balancing considerations for rewards and general gameplay in the Crucible are being discussed.

While the current reward set-up for PvP multiplayer is working as intended, Bungie Community Manager David “DeeJ” Dague says that “the question you should be asking is: Do we intend for the PVP reward system to work like that forever?”

“The answer is: Ask us again sometime,” he added. “We’re one week clear of the launch pad here. What we can promise is that Destiny is never finished.”

As for gameplay balance, Dague assured readers that discussions are happening in the office “every day.”

“Some of what we discuss comes from our own games. We also pay attention to the Feedback forum if you have, you know, feedback.”

It doesn’t sound like the studio is ready to share some of the feedback they’ve taken to heart so far, so we’ll have to stay tuned for announcements.

Finally, Dague unveiled that a new area in The Tower, Destiny’s social hub, will soon open for the arrival of the Queen’s Emissary, once the new missions become available on September 23. So, gamers will have at least a small new location to discover.

Keep your sights on MP1st for more on Destiny.

Battlefield 4 – Highlights of What’s Coming The Fall Patch

The fruits of Battlefield 4‘s ongoing community test program will soon come to bear as developer DICE LA prepares to launch a completely updated version of the shooter on all platforms this Fall.

According to the studio, the new patch is “right around the corner” as “certification has started on several platforms and the Fall Patch is targeted for release at the end of September.”

Full, detailed patch notes are to go up soon, but to give players a taste of what the studio has been baking up, here are a few highlights of some of the fixes and improvements that are a direct result of the CTE initiative, including a few notes about future updates to come.

Clearly, almost all areas have been touched, including fundamentals like player movement, recoil, and “netcode,” including a few specific items that have been requested by the community like the revolvers’ trigger delay. Be sure to tell us in the comments what your thoughts on the update are!

Battlefield 4 Fall Update Highlights

Game modes

  • Rush (All base game maps except Dawnbreaker), Obliteration, Capture the Flag, and Carrier Assault. Added the Obliteration Competitive sub-game mode

Sight Improvements

  • Close & Medium range sight reticles no longer affected by weapon firing animation, AKA “Visual Recoil”
  • Improved visibility for red glowing reticule pieces against bright backgrounds

Player Movement

  • Now almost identical to BF3 movement – with BF4 animation sets
  • Dampened third person hit reactions for player head

HUD clarification pass

  • De-cluttered and made customizable a plethora of HUD options to make BF4 look the way you want it to (within reason)

Revive mechanic

  • Made revives much more robust, easier to understand with new UI art and included a new “fully charged” paddle sound.

“Netcode”

  • Lowering the setting for how much time difference is allowed when damaging other players (addressing trade kills and behind cover kills where high pings are involved)
  • An automatic High Frequency Update setting is now the default for all users
  • Added High Frequency update support to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms
  • Additional improvements to bullet damage delays between clients compared to Netcode Patch

Weapon attachment changes

  • Muzzle Brake: Reduced the overall impact of this attachment. Both its positives and negatives have been reduced
  • Heavy Barrel: Lowered the buff it gave to minimum moving spread and moved some of that bonus into reduced spread increase. Should be a good option for longer range tap firing
  • Lasers: Small buff to standing hip-fire accuracy

Weapon changes

“Note that this list contains an excerpt – the upcoming patch notes will have a detailed list.”

  • Bullet velocity increases: Improved bullet velocity for Slugs and nearly all suppressed weapons. Selectively improved base velocity for weapons that were too slow for their intended range
  • Damage Model: Many weapons have had their maximum and minimum damage adjusted slightly. It may take 1 extra bullet to kill at extremely close engagements and long range combat
  • Trigger Delay: Removed from all revolvers
  • Adjustments to slower rate of fire weapons to make them easier to use at longer ranges vs higher ROF weapons
  • Carbines and PDWs now have unique bullpup modifiers that give improved bonuses over the rifle counterpart
  • Ammo: Gave more ammo to the weapons that were short a mag compared to their counterparts
  • DMRs: Audio when being shot at by a DMR has been improved
  • SKS and M39EMR no longer allow you to hold breath
  • Grenade capacity lowered and resupply times increased.

Start of the Teamplay Initiative!

“The new Teamplay Initative on the CTE, which will be implemented in our coming releases, will focus on the teamplay aspects of Battlefield 4. Our goal is to improve, simplify, and make playing the objective (PTFO) more rewarding than it has ever been.”

“This initiative will span more than one release, as there are many things to look at. We will of course continue looking at the previous remaining issues and fixes in the areas of Netcode, Core Gameplay and balance as we go on.”

“For the Final Stand release, we will try and get these things addressed in time on the CTE:”

  • Gameplay objective scoring re-balance (make playing the objective more desirable)
  • Health and ammo pack re-balance
  • Fix for Neutral/Friendly roadkills exploit and getting killed by own vehicle
  • Distance Spotting changes to make spotting at a distance more precise
  • Footprint sound and random callouts improvements

Titanfall IMC Rising DLC – New Map Gets Unveiled, Sand Trap

A new multiplayer maps joins Backwater and Zone 18, rounding off the three new battlefields offered in Titanfall‘s upcoming DLC, IMC Rising.

According to Respawn Entertainment’s Chris “Soupy” Dionne, Sand Trap his “attempt take some of [his] favorite lessons from Titanfall development along with some new ideas and put them together to make a brand new experience.”

“One of my main goals with Sand Trap was to use old ideas in new ways,” he adds. “In the center is a buried bunker inspired by the buried architecture in Fracture; this lets Titans stomp around above while pilots scurry below. Across the map are deep trenches that create a well-run highway for pilots; inspired by wall running in Rise they give quick and (relatively) safe routes across the map.”

Pilots may be able to take refuge in the trench network that offers cover from Titans battling in the dunes surrounding, but they’ll have to be weary of deadly drops into reservoirs or unrefined fuel.

You’ll be able to check out Sand Trap, along with IMC Rising’s two previously revealed maps, in an upcoming developer live stream that Respawn plans to hold on September 23 on their official Twitch channel.
