Season’s Eatings! Santa Gnaws is here to terrorize all who would disobey him. Prove your worth by completing up to eight challenges in the Santa’s Slayground in-game event to earn prizes more impressive than a lump of coal. Get rewards like consumable items and cosmetics such as the “Christmas Skulls” Calling Card, the “Elfsecution” Finishing Move, and the Weapon Blueprint/Operator Skin.
Play across new themed maps and modes as you complete the challenges in Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone.
Themed Maps and Limited Modes in Multiplayer
Shipmas
Pack your ugly sweater and deploy to the frozen sea in this cold-weather version of Shipment. Keep your head on a swivel to avoid joining the other corpses in cold storage.
Hangover
Toast to the New Year in this winter-themed Highrise decked with lights, garlands, and festive flair. The battle takes place at night for a new gameplay experience, so bring your best and celebrate in the victory screen.
New Limited-Time Modes
Infectious Holiday
Play Infected in a lobby full of Santa Claus Operators. Infected players will transform into the Zombie Santa Skin. Combine cheerfulness with combat prowess to retain those rosy cheeks against the undead menace.
Snowfight
In this Gunfight iteration, the first two rounds are decided by a snowball fight. These snowballs hit hard, so stay light on your feet. Capture the suspiciously yellow snowball in the center of the map for a one-hit elimination. After regular Loadouts return in the third round, players can still loot snowballs placed throughout the map.
CODMAS in Modern Warfare Zombies
Encounter new seasonal enemy models and updated infil music and collect snowballs around the map, which can be used to launch deadly attacks.
Slay Ride Resurgence Comes to Call of Duty: Warzone
Play the limited-time Slay Ride Resurgence Playlist during the CODMAS event for the chance to earn high-quality loot by decorating trees and taking on Santa in an ambush on the seasonal train.
Slay Ride
Take the fight to Santa aboard the train traveling through Urzikstan. Succeed in toppling the king of Christmas to earn powerful in-game loot and an Emblem proving your prowess.
Deck the Halls
Deploy to one of six Deck the Halls tree-themed capture points marked on the Tac Map in Slay Ride Resurgence, and loot up with high-tier gear right at the start of the match. Standing near the tree with no opponents nearby will begin the festive decorating. The tree can be upgraded to Tier 2 or become fully decorated at Tier 3, improving the value of the loot. The more decorated your tree, the better the weapons, Killstreaks, and in-game Cash you’ll earn in return.
New Year, New Event: Face the Vortex
Schedule: The Vortex event kicks off January 3 after CODMAS 2023, and runs until January 17.
Enter the flames of the Vortex to fight for cataclysmic rewards. In this event, players will progress through the 15 available rewards by playing in the Vortex-themed maps Tetanus, Satan’s Quarry, and Sporeyard.
Tetanus
In this otherworld version of Rust, Operators find themselves in an otherworldly desert during a planetary storm. Strips of neon-green light attached to the infrastructure enhance the sci-feel feel of the fight.
Satan’s Quarry
Enter this pit of fire and brimstone only if you dare. Huge chains piercing the skies signal a hellish destination in which only the bold stand the chance to survive.
Sporeyard
The iconic boneyard shows signs of fungal infestation as glowing blue flora spreads throughout the map, dispensed by the towering toadstools surrounding the borders.
Enjoy the holiday festivities! Once a new info drop on the mid-season update is revealed, we’ll let our readers know.
As part of the massive hack that stole tons of data from Insomniac Games, an upcoming games roadmap has leaked. The roadmap reveals plans for a Venom spinoff, Spider-Man 3, a new Ratchet and Clank game, and perhaps most intriguingly, an X-Men game.
The data come from a few slides that have been circulating on the internet, though most material is available on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit. You can view them below:
There are a few big takeaways from these slides. For starters, the Venom game is apparently set to release near the end of 2025, or at least that was the plan at some point. Furthermore, the game’s full title is apparently Venom: Lethal Protector, which is the name of a Venom comic run from the 90s that’s often used as a nickname for the symbiote anti-hero. The Venom game will also feature multiple playable characters and an 8-10 hour playtime, complete with 12 main missions and a handful of side content.
We can also see a slot for Spider-Man 3, which should come as no surprise. After the massive success of Spider-Man 2, it makes sense for Insomniac to want to continue the series. Creative Director Bryan Intihar has already teased a potential for epic scope from Spider-Man 3, which is currently slated for late 2028 according to the roadmap.
Finally, we can see that a new Ratchet and Clank game and a new X-Men title are on the slate for 2029 and 2030, respectively. While we don’t know much about X-Men beyond some licensing terms, it’s clear that Insomniac is hoping to make a series out of it. In terms of Ratchet and Clank, there’s a few pieces of concept art that give us a peek at the game’s general tone. These games are far off, so we’re probably not going to hear about them for a long time.
This is all very compelling news. As always, keep in mind that there’s no telling when any of these slides originated, meaning that Insomniac’s entire plan could have changed between then and now. Nonetheless, we’re optimistic about the studio’s future, as they always do great work, and these IPs are all pretty exciting.
We’ll be sure to keep our readers in the loop as we learn more.
Sabotage Studio has released Sea of Stars Update 1.005.001 today, December 19. Here’s everything we know included in today’s Sea of Stars patch notes.
Sea of Stars Update 1.005.001 | Sea of Stars December 18 Patch Notes |
While the studio hasn’t released full patch notes on the update, we know from an announcement on their discord this past week that this update replaces one of the in-game NPCs.
“A small patch will be going live on Steam and be submitted to consoles soon to replace the builder NPC in Mirth.
We arrived at this decision after carefully monitoring events over the past few weeks, and while it is not our place to pass judgment, we do make it a priority to maintain a positive and optimistic space that reflects the spirit of our intentions, be they creative or otherwise.
As always, we appreciate your support and trust you to respect our decision while keeping the tone of the conversation in line with the essence of what makes our games and our community what they are. Thank you.”
For those unaware of what NPC this is referring to, it’s Jirard the Constructionist, who is based on Jirard Khalil The Completionist. As for the reason, it’s been alleged by two YouTubers, Karl Jobst and Mutahar of ‘SomeOrdinaryGamers,’ that Jirard’s Open Hand Foundation, a charity built to meet the needs of people, has been withholding more than $600,000 since it was first registered back in 2014. That funding was meant to go to charities. Jirard issued the following statement, saying the funds have been donated, though many have been quick to point out that it only happened when this was brought to light.
Hey everyone. I know you all have had questions. I want to assure you all that the funds we have raised together through IndieLand and The Open Hand Foundation are safe, accounted for, and have been donated. $600k went to a leading charity that specializes in FTD, and was… pic.twitter.com/GQjhptwxsA
Whether he’s guilty or innocent, the decision to remove him from Sea of Stars was a completely understandable one, as it’s one issue that Sabotage Studio probably wants to deal with later.
If there are more changes included in this update, we’ll be sure to let you all know. For now, assume this is the only change.

What is the Fallout 76 Atomic Shop?
The Atomic Shop is an in-game store in Fallout 76 offering cosmetics, C.A.M.P. objects and more in exchange for a special currency called Atoms. Most purchases are unlocked account-wide, and may be accessed by any character on the account.
Some objects require an in-game plan to be learned in order to gain access, while other items are only unlocked for a single, specified character. All exclusive items are character-bound, and cannot be dropped or traded with other players. The Atomic Shop is accessible at any time from the main menu, as well as the pause screen after leaving Vault 76 for the first time.
That’s it for this week’s refresh. Is there anything in particular that interests you?
If not, there’s always next week, which we’ll have covered, so be sure to check again next Tuesday!
There may be a good reason why Sunset Overdrive hasn’t gotten a sequel yet, as the latest info from the Insomniac Games’ ransomware attack has revealed the game’s budget and how much Insomniac Games earned on it.
As posted on ResetEra, the Xbox and PC exclusive title, Sunset Overdrive, reportedly cost the studio roughly $42.6 million dollars to make, with a net profit hitting over $49.7 million. Approximately $7 million past the breakeven point, though for the studio, their shared cut was only a measly $567 dollars. No, you’re not reading that wrong. Insomniac Games’ cut for Sunset Overdrive is barely more than a single PS5.
Ultimately, the title reached 1.9 million units sold across Xbox and PC.
Even if the PlayStation fanbase is far more significant than what is on Xbox, the reward may not outweigh the risks. That’s not to say it can never happen, but with this information now public, it may be time to keep those expectations in check.
However, that’s not the worst of it, as while there are some titles that earned the studio no money, their biggest commercial failure appears to be EA’s Fuse. The studio earned no money on that, with a $36.2 million budget and net sale of $4.8 million. We are looking at about a $31.5 million loss, which is their biggest reported loss on the sheet.
Looking at this from a bigger picture, one could understand why Insomniac Games finally decided to sell to Sony. The Spider-Man franchise has certainly seen a major turnaround for the studio, which may also be why they’re working on a Wolverine game, and reportedly X-Men next.
Expect plenty of more news to surface throughout the day, as more and more information is uncovered from the breach.

As part of the recent massive Insomniac Games leak following a ransomware attack, the total Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 budget has been revealed. The number was revealed as part of an Insomniac return on investment (ROI) sheet, which also shows budgets for Spider-Man 3 and Wolverine.
The chart was posted on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit by user Bartman013. The post includes a link to the following image on imgur:
This image reveals some interesting numbers for Insomniac. Firstly, we can see that the total costs listed for Spider-Man 2 is a whopping $315 million. The image also lists Spider-Man 2 as having an estimated $75 million profit. Given that the game has sold five million copies in its first month, it’s likely to far surpass that number.
We can also see some other compelling budgeting numbers on this chart. Spider-Man 3, which isn’t due for several years, is estimated to cost a total of $385 million. Furthermore, Wolverine is actually estimated to have a smaller budget than both of these games, coming in at only $305 million. Both of these games are expected to hit a pretty significant profit, with Spider-Man 3 hoping to hit $170 million and Wolverine aiming for $85 million.
The data breach also revealed some work-in-progress gameplay of the unreleased Wolverine game, which you can check out here. Keep in mind that it’s likely an early build and that it will probably change significantly before release.

New Game Plus now tracks players unlocks from all the previous games, not just from the first playthrough.
If you already have unlocked New Game Plus, you need to load any checkpoint from a non-New Game Plus session before starting a New Game Plus.
Note: You also need to start a completely fresh New Game Plus save file for the unlocks to take effect, after loading in an old checkpoint from a non-New Game Plus session.
Stubborn “Bright Falls” manuscript page in the bunker forest shack has been taught some manners and is now ready to be picked up by the players.
While Remedy hasn’t said anything about today’s patch, chances are it’s. for the missing items bug that surfaced in New Game+ for a lot of players. You can read up on what that issue is causing right here.
Another issue that hasn’t been resolved with The Final Draft patch is the bugged Echo outside the Oceanview Hotel. Hopefully, with today’s patch, those two issues will be resolved.
Once Remedy releases the official patch notes, we’ll update the article to reflect the changes, so refresh this page from time to time.

A new set of weekly missions and store items has now arrived in Battlefield! Our Battlefield 2042 Season 6 Week 11 weekly missions, store bundles, and Portal Modes post details the new missions, modes, and store items for this week below.
Techland has released Dying Light 2 update 1.43 (PS5 version 1.043), which is the game’s big Winter Update! This update includes new finishers, new animations, and more. Read on for the official Dying Light 2 December 19 patch notes now.
Get ready for Winter Tales as Villedor becomes covered in winter’s frost. Baka is back with new bounties and rewards for an upcoming event. Remember to write a letter to Santa because he is probably near the city, and gifts are falling from the sky. However, be wary, as they might be protected by Naughty Infected, who are invading the city again.
This year, snow has arrived in Villedor, so remember to visit your favorite spots in the City and prepare your camera for festive snaps.
Be sure to check out the Bazaar, where survivors have started decorating the Christmas Tree. They may need some help with that.
Event will be available to you till 5th January New Enemy Variants
With the Update, a new wave of enemy variants will show up on the streets of the City.
Watch out for biters, carrying the deadly gas tanks on their backs. You can encounter three new variants:
Don’t get too close to the Toxic one – he will release a deadly cloud around himself
Stop your enemies where you want them – Freezing biter will prevent them from moving
Watch incinerating biter throw fire puddles around him – but not from too close, or you will be engulfed in the fireball he turns into!
Virals also turn more vicious – some of them will spit in your direction to keep you away. You may also encounter them carrying gas tank.
Don’t get surprised by the new Goon variant – their scream will alert banshees, waiting in the dark corners to attack you.
New Weapons – Polearms
Diversify your battlefield tactics with the arrival of Polearms! This new weapon type offers extended reach, allowing for strategic engagements and versatile playstyles. Pick them up from the cold dead hands of enemies that carried them before, or visit weapon vendors.
Don’t forget to visit Shen Xiu (Chapter 2 Agent) and Pilgrim Outpost! And of course, the new weapon type comes with its unique finisher.
Nocturnal Weapons
We are introducing a new type of weapon specifically designed for better effectiveness during night fights. Nocturnal Weapons come only in higher rarities – from unique to exotics, so just because of that they’re already quite formidable. But what sets these weapons apart are their special affixes (triggered during the night) and cool, fluorescent appearances. Some of these weapons are designed to focus on handling specific types of infected, so choose wisely which one you will bring into the night. However, keep in mind that, as powerful as they are, they also drain your immunity faster, so using them is a classic risk-and-reward mechanic. Participate in Night Encounters, and fight Volatiles, Backpack Biters, and several others to obtain them. Make sure to visit Harper and Pilgrim Outpost. Explore the night and discover your first Nocturnal Weapon.
Throwable Weapons
New Throwing Knife – Want to wreak havoc among hordes of enemies while slashing through them? We have the perfect solution: throw a new PK tool, an exploding knife, at your enemies, watch out for a short beep beep beep, and enjoy the small explosion, giving yourself much-needed space in tight situations.
Shurikens – What’s better than one shuriken? Three thrown simultaneously. Combine them with a katana, and you can be the one and only ninja in Villedor.
PS5 Cross-Gen Save
Cross-generation saves between PS4 and PS5 have arrived
If you play the previous generation your save will travel with you onto the next one – and your progress comes along for the ride.*
*Cross Gen transfer save will not transfer “Can’t Touch This”, “Lightning Reflexes” and DLC Trophies automatically to have them with you on the new console you have to follow additional steps:
open your PS4 version of the game and install the latest update
change an option in your profile – can be any change of video/audio options in the main menu
turn off the game on ps4 and download the update on the PS5
use save transfer functionality – this should ensure you get all your Trophies!
New Finishers
Your enthusiasm for new features doesn’t go unnoticed; we’ve heard you clearly.
Get ready for a fistfight and check 2 new hands finishers, waiting to be mastered in the midst of battle.
In addition, you can now get a chance to perform a finisher after successfully performing Perfect Dodge, Perfect Parry, X-Ray attack, and even when you release yourself from the Biter grab.
Nightrunner Tools in NG+
After completing a game and entering New Game+, all your Nightrunner Tools will stay with you. Players who already were in New Game + before this Update will receive missing Tools on level 2*
*The tools will be accessible in Open World free roaming, meaning several missions will prevent you from using them to ensure a smooth experience. Adequate information will be shown in those cases.
Game Update

FromSoftware Inc. has released Armored Core 6 update 1.005 today for both current-gen and last-gen platforms. This update brings in ranked matchmaking and more. Read on for the December 19 Armored Core 6 patch notes below.
“Ranked Match” and “Name Plate” features added to “NEST” menu
Added HUD elements for switching weapons with the Weapon Bay
New HEAD, CORE, ARMS and LEGS frame parts, as well as 4 new weapons
*Note: new parts unlock at the SHOP according to MISSION progress
▼Ranked Match
In Ranked Match, automatic matchmaking is used to allow players of similar ability to compete against one another.
Ranking System
Ranks are divided into UNRANKED, D, C, B, A and S. Players can aim for promotion to the next rank by earning RP (Rank Points).
Once players reach S-Rank, they receive a rating based on their ability. The top 100 rated S-Rank players will have this distinction displayed on their rank icon.
Rules
Ranked Matches employ Single (1v1) and Team (3v3) rulesets.
RP is earned through victories in Single matches, while in Team matches RP is earned through both victories and individual contribution.
The time limit is 2 minutes for Single matches and 3 minutes for Team matches. Maps are selected at random for each match.
Promotion
Once a player has earned the required RP for their current rank, they will enter a “Promotion Phase”.
During Promotion Phase, players will have a set number of matches to achieve good results and become eligible for promotion to the next rank.
Leaderboards
The top 100 rated Rank-S players will be posted to the leaderboards.
Information about each player such as their rating, name plate and AC configuration can be confirmed from the leaderboards.
Rank and Leaderboard Reset
Player ranks and leaderboards will be reset periodically.
Upon rank reset, players half-way up B-Rank and above will be relegated one rank according to their current rank and RP.
*Note: the next reset is scheduled for 29th February (Wed) 2024.
Name Plates and NP (Nest Points)
Some Name Plates are acquired by achieving good results in Ranked Matches, while others can be bought rom the Plate Shop.
Name Plates at the Plate Shop are purchased using NP (Nest Points) earned from Ranked Matches.

Epic Games has released Fortnite update 1.000.121 today for some gameplay adjustments on all platforms. Check out the December 19 patch notes and details for Fortnite below.
Since The Big Bang, we’ve cooked up some improvements to Fortnite Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival. Today’s update hits key areas that we want to address before our next update planned for early 2024.
FORTNITE BATTLE ROYALE
MOVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS
Movement speed has been increased when crouching, and running. We also reduced camera movement and adjusted the change in view while sprinting to encourage a smoother experience. Plus, we updated the movement animations to better match the adjustments in speed.
To help you get adjusted to these updates, we’ve reset everyone’s “Custom Diagonal Movement” settings, so please log in and reconfigure your settings to what feels best.
MEDALLIONS READABILITY
Society Medallion icons now stand out more on the map and should be easier to spot at a glance. We also reduced the visual noise present in the minimap when several Medallion zones are near one another, especially in the later Storm circles.
NIGHT VISIBILITY
We’ve brightened certain areas of the map where it was a little too dark during night.
STORM VISIBILITY
The visibility of the Storm’s edge has been improved so it’s more apparent how close it is, as we heard from the community it could be difficult to see.
WEAPON ICONS
We’re aware of feedback that the Frenzy Auto Shotgun and the Thunder Burst SMG weapon icons were too similar, making it hard to differentiate them. These icons have been updated to be more visually unique and legible.
RECENT BALANCE CHANGES
Last week, we also released a lot of balance changes to Battle Royale. Here’s a recap!
Flowberries now grant more Shield.
Increased damage for the Ranger Pistol, Shield Breaker EMP, and Ballistic Shield’s pistol.
Snowball Launcher mag size reduced.
Thunder Burst SMG mag size increased.
Reduced the drop rate of the Reaper Sniper Rifle.
Striker AR deals less damage.
The circle indicating a Society Medallion holder is smaller.
Society Medallions now have a brief delay before Shield regen begins. They also have slightly reduced regen rates and no longer refill 100% Shield (unless you have all five).
LEGO FORTNITE
Hungry? More Filling Snacks!
We heard feedback that food in LEGO Fortnite wasn’t reducing hunger very much, so we made adjustments to make your snacks more filling!
ELIMINATION WHILE CAVIN’
We fixed a bug that might have made you lose your items after being eliminated in the transition between aboveground and belowground. Thanks for your patience as this was being worked on — we understand it was frustrating to lose your items (we were losing our items too!).
ICYMI, last week we also made the following changes before today’s update:
DURABILITY
The durability of non-Rare/non-Epic tools and weapons has increased by 30%. For Rare/Epic tools and weapons, the durability has increased by 60%!
DAMAGE
Reduced damage of the Brute’s Poison area for all three Brutes.
Reduced damage of the Frost Scorpion explosion.
CRITTER CHANGES
Sand Scorpions, Scorpions found in caves, regular Scorpions, Crabs on the shoreline, Sand Spiders, and Alpine Frost Spiders are slightly easier to defeat.
Rams now give Heavy Wool.
OTHER TWEAKS AND IMPROVEMENTS
Grapplers now hold 30 charges.
Spiders won’t jumpscare you as often when turning over rocks.
ROCKET RACING
LONG QUEUE TIMES
We heard feedback that high-ranked racers have been experiencing long queue times in Rocket Racing, and our team is working on incremental improvements to help you get into your races faster. We’ll continue to monitor queue times and make adjustments if necessary.
CAR COLLISIONS
Car-on-car collisions have been a major topic among players, especially when a bump from behind spins your car 180 degrees. Today’s update will make those collisions a bit less punishing, and should help keep your car facing the finish line. We’ll continue to work on collision improvements for future updates too.
JACKIE OUTFIT QUEST
The Reach Gold rank in Rocket Racing Quest to unlock the Jackie Outfit was rewarding players for reaching Gold II instead of Gold I. We’ve patched this so that racers who have hit Gold I now just need to complete one full race to complete the Quest and receive the Jackie Outfit.
FORTNITE FESTIVAL
MISSING SONG LIBRARY
We fixed an error that caused players to see an empty song library in the Main Stage after suspending Fortnite on their device. This should also improve the pauses some players were encountering before a song starts.
FALL DAMAGE DISABLED
Fall damage has been disabled in the Main Stage’s Backstage. Jump off all the balconies you’d like, rockstars!
RESTART SONG
We’ve disabled the “Restart Song” functionality (available to Solo players) temporarily while we fix an error that was causing the game to become unresponsive.
INCORRECT POSTING TO LEADERBOARDS
We fixed an issue where some scores may have been posted to the wrong leaderboard. We will continue to monitor (and potentially audit) leaderboards moving forward to ensure their accuracy.

Last week, it was reported that Insomniac Games was hit with ransomware, with the hacker group threatening to leak all their obtained files if Sony didn’t pay it. It seems they weren’t joking, as that’s precisely what has happened, with a build of Marvel’s Wolverine surfacing and several videos, including the first gameplay footage!
Obviously, this is extremely early footage of the game, and like the Grand Theft Auto 6 leak, it shouldn’t be an indication of what the final game will be. Other leak data points to the main campaign being roughly 15 hours long, a list of bosses and heroes features in the game, missions, and powers, and even concept art for the game that is extremely spoiler-filled.
With all this now out, we aren’t sure what this means for Insomniac Games, as this could potentially delay the game.
Of course, there is a big possibility that some of the info released is from an early build or based on an old or outdated version of the game. Take that into consideration before anything else.
Marvel’s Wolverine has been announced for the PS5 with no firm release date given yet.
