Raiders, it’s launch month for ARC Raiders! In less than 30 days, we’ll all be exploring and surviving the Rust Belt, but before then, we’ll get to play the game early through the newly announced Server Slam Playtest. But leading up to launch, there are still many questions left unanswered, and thankfully, Embark Studios just released a bunch of them, with one of the biggest being around how crossplay works in ARC Raiders.
Those hoping to play with only console players might feel a bit disappointed by this news.
In a newly updated FAQ on the game’s official Discord channel, Embark Studios confirmed that while ARC Raiders features full crossplay across all platforms, players will not have the option for crossplay console-only (between PlayStation and Xbox). Turning crossplay off means that you’ll only be limited to the pool of players on your platform of choice.
Q: When playing on console, how will it work when crossplay is turned off?
A: With crossplay off you will be matched within your own platform. So with crossplay off on PS5, you will only match against other PS5 players.
Although ARC Raiders is a mix of player versus environment, and you could technically play a match without ever encountering other players, it still has PvP elements. Which is fine, but console players also have to worry about the possibility of hackers, which is far more doable on PC than it is on consoles.
So it’s understandable why so many would want a console-only crossplay option. Though ultimately, with Embark’s anti-cheat measures, that may not be as big a problem.
Still, options are nice to have, and with both the PS5 and Xbox Series family of consoles being closed platforms, it would have been nice to see a console-only crossplay option for ARC Raiders. Perhaps down the road, if enough users request it, or it becomes a big enough problem.
ARC Raiders officially launches on October 30, 2025, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-orders are now live, featuring various editions.
Originally meant to end this Wednesday, Treyarch Studios is extending the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta by an extra day! This includes all the double XP bonuses for leveling and weapons, so that players can hit level 30 even faster, while having more time to do so.

Behaviour Interactive has released the latest patch for Dead by Daylight this October 7, and this is for version 9.2.2. This brings gameplay-related changes to The Krasue, and adjusts the Off The Record survivor perk.
Console gamers will see this as Dead by Daylight update 3.58/9.200.200, and this is another bugfix patch that aims to resolve a good chunk of gameplay issues.
It looks like Season 6 in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is about to become a hunting ground, as Activision has officially announced this year's collaborative IP with The Haunting event.

While Battlefield 6 won't be released until later this week, on October 10, it appears that some retailers have decided not to adhere to the street date for when the game should be sold, as people are reporting that some have already managed to buy a copy.
FuturLab’s highly anticipated sequel, PowerWash Simulator 2, has an official release! Fans of the powerwashing sim won’t have long to wait, either, as the release is happening this month.
That’s right, get those powerwashing tools out because PowerWash Simulator 2 launches on October 23, 2025.
FuturLab, the developer of the highly popular and acclaimed PowerWash Simulator, has announced that it can no longer support the VR version of the game.
PowerWash Simulator 2 Comes Out This October, and It’s Bringing Kittens
Who knew that I would find myself so excited to wash cars, homes, decks, grills, well, basically anything around the house in 2025? I didn’t, and if the sequel is anything like the original game, then I already know that I’ll be spending hours (hundreds, maybe even thousands!) washing away grime, gunk, and my crippling depression.
Luckily for me, PowerWash Simulator 2 is not only bringing back its full arsenal of powerwash tools, but it’s also introducing two new tiny, furry characters, Bubbles and Squeak. Fitting names for the pets of a PowerWash cleaner, and although they don’t do much around the house, you can at least pet them from time to time whenever you’re feeling down.
KEY FEATURES RECAP:
Split-Screen & Online Multiplayer – Clean solo, with a friend on the couch, or with up to four players online – all with shared progression.
Abseiling & Scissor Lift – Scale buildings, hover over rooftops, and clean from every angle. Don’t worry – fall damage doesn’t exist here.
Multi-Stage Jobs – Just when you think you’ve finished, surprise: there’s more to clean. Some jobs expand mid-wash, unlocking new areas on the fly.
Home Base Customisation – Restore furniture, decorate your HQ, and keep your base clean(ish). You earned it.
Career Mode – Take on 38 jobs across increasingly strange, sprawling, and oddly satisfying locations.
Soap, Nozzles & Tools – Upgrade your washer loadout with adaptable nozzles, surface cleaners, and yes, foamy soap.
Cat Companions – Ulysses and her kittens are back, following you on jobs and expecting to be petted. Often.
If the support is anything like the original game (and it most definitely will be), then we expect to see plenty of DLC for that game, especially collaborations with other IPs like they’ve done in the past such as Warhammer, SpongeBob SquarePants, and more.
PowerWash Simulator 2 releases on October 23, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

Armor Rework
This rework marks the beginning of a longer process, not only for tanks but for every role affected by armor.
The new systems and structures introduced below provide greater flexibility to adjust, balance and iterate in the future. The goal is to create a fairer, more enjoyable experience for all players, and this will take time. Player feedback is invaluable in refining armor.
Tank Balancing
All light, medium and heavy tanks have had a balance pass for the following factions:
Any entry in green is a buff
If in red is a nerf
And in grey means it remains unchanged.
US Tank Changes
Terrain Modifiers
Tank movement has been updated to incorporate terrain-based modifiers. Track friction and speed now dynamically adjust depending on surface type. Environments like mud, snow and sand provide a more accurate performance variation, while remaining balanced within the world of Hell Let Loose. These changes are subtle but will make all the difference while trying to race towards the strongpoint.
It's launch week for Battlefield 6, and while many of you have already pre-loaded the game, it appears that another download will be available, as Battlefield Studios has confirmed a day-one patch for Battlefield 6.
Tank Physics System
The physical model of each armored vehicle has been individually updated and refined. Tanks can now more reliably cross trenches, gaps and other terrain features they are designed to handle on the battlefield. The improved physical model is key in ensuring that tanks can traverse over uneven landscapes and small obstacles with greatly reduced physics-based issues. Tanks now react to hitting large obstacles such as walls and buildings more realistically.
Maps in Hell Let Loose are large and sprawling, and contains legacy collision issues that affect vehicle navigation. Work will continue to improve the tank driving experience in future updates.
Firing Knockback Force
Tank firing from its main turret now includes a slight recoil effect. When a shell is fired, the tank will experience a small knockback to better reflect the force of the shot. Coupled with this are new camera shakes for light, medium and heavy tanks to further emphasise the force applied when firing.
Contextual Repairs
To deepen the armor gameplay experience, the repair system has been overhauled.
Previously, the act of repairing a vehicle had an order of priority for which components should be repaired first. The engine was given the highest priority, but could be repaired by using the torch on any area of the tank, likewise with the hull, tracks and turret. A prompt would be displayed to the user to show which component was being repaired, but there was no way for the player to decide which component to repair first.
With this improvement, an Engineer or Tank Crewman can – for example – prioritise the tracks to make a quick retreat, or focus repairs on the turret to fight back in a last-resort combat effort.
While Battlefield 6 won't be released until later this week, on October 10, it appears that some retailers have decided not to adhere to the street date for when the game should be sold, as people are reporting that some have already managed to buy a copy.
Heavy Tank Spawn Limitations
Each team may field a maximum of two heavy tanks at any given time.
Their buffs make them a significant threat to both armor and infantry. Taking one down requires strong coordination and resource investment, all the while this limitation reinforces the importance of medium and light tanks throughout the match.
The cooldown timer on all heavy tanks has been increased from 5 minutes to 10 minutes, preventing any early-game strategies using a heavy tank.
Anti-Tank adjustments
With increased tank health, anti-tank capabilities have been rebalanced. The Panzerschreck, Bazooka and PIAT damage has been slightly reduced, allowing some heavy tanks to survive longer. This is to emphasise their toughness without impacting medium and light tanks. Meanwhile, the anti-tank rifles, PTRS and Boys AT, have received a small damage buff when firing at the hull and turret, making them slightly more effective against tanks.
The following table shows how many shots it takes to destroy each tank. These values are using prime conditions; correct armor penetration and full damage applied to the hull.
Technician Loadout
Alongside the tank updates, the Crewman role now features a new addition: the Technician loadout.
This new variant of the role provides engineering capabilities, allowing players to construct barricades, repair stations and a new deployable ammo depot. This new depot refills tank shells in limited quantities.
These additions enable armor squads to establish forward positions for resupply and repair without needing to return to HQ.
Salvaging Wreckages
A new Salvage mechanic allows infantry to remove vehicle wreckage from the map. By using the hammer to interact with a destroyed vehicle for a set duration, the wreckage is cleared and a portion of fuel is returned to the friendly Commander.
This applies to both enemy and allied vehicles and can be performed by any player equipped with a hammer. In conjunction with this, all recon loadouts have been given a hammer, allowing these units to salvage enemy vehicles in hostile territory before others can reach them.
The team behind Call of Duty's RICOCHET anti-cheat system was in full battle mode this past week when the Black Ops 7 early access beta launched.
Vehicle Cosmetic Application
Armor cosmetics are now available alongside the soldier customization system. Players who purchase a cosmetic item for a vehicle can use the Exterior Customization tool to apply it in gameplay. While previewing, other players will also see the previewed cosmetic, so armor squads can decide on their tank’s visual style.
Once applied, tank cosmetics are locked to that particular instance of the vehicle, and would have to be reapplied to other vehicles of that type in the same match. Once a player is previewing cosmetics on a tank, other players will not be able to interact with it. Players will also be prevented from previewing and applying cosmetics when the tank is occupied.
Audio
This update, the audio changes have been mainly focused around the armour rework quality of life fixes. The updates are as follows:
Tank shell impact and deflections have had increased attenuation and volume
A volume level pass of tank engine interior/exteriors so they are more consistent throughout
Increased the attenuation of tank tracks SFX for all armoured units
Added occasional gear grinding SFX when changing gears inside tanks
Added SFX for when changing/applying customization cosmetics
Fixed an issue where MGs fired by the tank driver and gunner simultaneously could sound out of phase and unnatural

New Mechanics Added in Hell Let Loose Update 18
Commander Ability – Artillery Strike
Commanders for all factions have a new ability called ‘Artillery Strike’, this allows them to place up to three artillery clusters (per turn) on the battlefield, at the expense of Munitions.
Each stack of the ability costs 100 Munitions
Quality of Life Improvements via Hell Let Loose’s Oct. 7 Update
Ability to See Both Teams on the Map (Admin Camera only)
In admin camera, as well as being able to see players from both forces in the game world, server owners and admins will now be able to see players from both forces on the tac-map as well.
Invite Only Locked Unit
Invite only locked units can now be created, which block requests for others to join your squad. The pre-existing locked unit type and open units remain.
ADS FOV
This is a quality-of-life improvement that allows players to adjust their field of view (FOV) while aiming down sights (ADS). This matches the experience of aiming from the hip, with adjustable FOV settings. ADS and hip-fire have independent values, with separate settings in the options menu.
ADS FOV is not allowed to exceed the current base FOV value, to prevent visibility exploits that would produce an unfair advantage.
Picking up Supplies (Support Role)
Players who are playing as the Support role can now pick up and redistribute their supply box should they wish to be relocated. Once a supply box is placed down and the cooldown has started, the player can interact with the box to resupply them back into their inventory. The cooldown the supply box will also be reset.
Note:
Only the player who placed down the supply box can pick them back up
Other team members cannot pick up friendly supply boxes
The supply box cannot be picked up if any of the supplies have been used (subject to change)
This does not affect Commander supply drops or supply truck drops
If a percentage of supplies have been used, a portion of the cooldown is reimbursed to the player relative to the amount of supplies remaining
With the launch of Battlefield 6 inching nearer and nearer, more info about the game is surfacing, though not everything is coming from Electronic Arts' news announcements and press releases.
UI Updates
New Icon – Enemy Supplies
An enemy supplies marker has been added to the list of available markers
‘Killed in Action’ Screen
The ‘killed in action’ screen has been revamped, with players now given the following information:
Who killed the player (blue text for friendly, red text for enemies)
Which faction they belonged to
Cause of death
How long the player was alive prior to death
Redeployment Screen
A redeployment screen has been added, fixing the issue where players were incorrectly informed that they were ‘killed in action’. It also includes a breakdown of how long the player was alive since their last deployment.
Network Connection Icons
The following network connection icons are available on the HUD:
The Network Latency icon: displayed when client latency is above a threshold
The Packet Loss icon: displayed when losing an amount of network packets that would be detrimental to gameplay
Strict NAT Type: displayed when NAT type is strict, which may impact networked gameplay performance
Vehicle VFX Improvements
The technical art has begun to address game-wide VFX improvements. The key area of initial focus was around vehicle explosion VFX. This was broken down by vehicle type, with explosions scaled to match each one. Some randomization was also added to the effect, making each explosion appear unique.
Dynamic Weather Updates
El Alamein
Dynamic sandstorms are now available in El Alamein Warfare and Offensive maps.
Driel
Dynamic rain storms with lightning are now in Driel Offensive maps.

Once another patch is released by FromSoftware, we’ll have it here on the site.
The first major paid DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is coming this week, and fans of the popular sandbox experience, Minecraft, are in for a treat as the DLC is a collaboration between the two IPs.
Originally meant to end this Wednesday, Treyarch Studios is extending the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta by an extra day! This includes all the double XP bonuses for leveling and weapons, so that players can hit level 30 even faster, while having more time to do so.
This announcement is accompanied by a new playlist update, which brings a new multiplayer map.
The team behind Call of Duty's RICOCHET anti-cheat system was in full battle mode this past week when the Black Ops 7 early access beta launched.
Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Beta Now Ends on October 9
Initially meant to end on October 8, Treyarch has extended the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Beta by a day, with it now concluding on Thursday, October 9, at 9:00 a.m. PT. Sure, it’s only a day, but I’ll take it over nothing! Those wondering, 2XP + 2X Weapon XP bonuses have also been extended for the extra day.
According to Treyarch, the reason for the extension is that players have requested more time with the beta, which is likely due to the positive reactions to the classic Call of Duty playlist where SBMM is dialed down. With an extra day available to everyone, you now have even more time ot hit max rank, and try out even more guns. That, and if you’re trying to complete the Dark Ops challenges, that extra day is going to help a lot.
In addition to the beta extension news, a new playlist update is now live in Black Ops 7 Beta, bringing a fresh rotation of modes and playlist options. That’s not all, either, as a new 6v6 map has also been added to the map rotation.
Here’s what’s in today’s playlist update:

When the beta does end, Call of Duty fans will still have plenty to look forward to. Obviously, the launch of the game, but also in Black Ops 6, which will be launching Season 6 on the very same day. While details are still light on Season 6, we do know that the upcoming “The Haunting” event will feature our favorite apex hunter, the Predator, when it launches on October 9. So stay tuned for more details on that once they’ve become available.
Treyarch is going big this year with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, as they've just revealed the full lineup of maps and modes that'll be available at launch.

Battlefield 6 is launching this week, but fans of sea battles are going to be a bit disappointed knowing that Naval Warfare won’t be part of the Battlefield 6 launch experience.
However, there’s hope, as Battlefield Studios has finally acknowledged fan requests, hinting that there may be room for the experience in the future.
With Battlefield 6 now fully revealed, more info about the game has surfaced.
Don’t Rule Out Naval Warfare for Battlefield 6 Yet, as the Studio Wants to Build Battlefield 6 Based on Players’ Requests
Battlefield 6 is officially launching this Friday, and although the game is going to be packed with content, with plenty of maps and modes to play from, there is one thing that won’t be there at launch. We’re talking about Naval Warfare, the classic Battlefield experience that was first introduced with the very first Battlefield game, Battlefield 1942. Of course, since the release of that game, Naval Warfare has taken a bit of a backseat, with it being released as either DLC, in some of the newer entries, and completely being skipped in Battlefield 2042.
Well, despite not launching with Battlefield 6, it seems there’s a good chance that we’ll see Naval Warfare making a return (and hopefully a big one) as the latest community update from the studios has acknowledged fans’ requests for it.
It's launch week for Battlefield 6, and while many of you have already pre-loaded the game, it appears that another download will be available, as Battlefield Studios has confirmed a day-one patch for Battlefield 6.
“There is much more to look forward to beyond our Seasons as our team continues reviewing Battlefield Labs data, player feedback, and ideating on completely new ideas for the future, starting with an exciting new Battlefield take on Battle Royale. Separately, requests for naval warfare have not gone unnoticed, nor have the calls for a certain fan-favorite little helicopter, platoons, and more.
We appreciate all of your suggestions, and want you to know we’re listening. With Season 1 and our roadmap ahead, we’re excited to continue to build a Battlefield that reflects what players want. We’ll continue reading and listening to community channels, and we cannot wait to share more with you, so keep the feedback coming. Also be sure to join our official Battlefield Discord for more discussion and the latest updates.”
While they didn’t outright say that it’s happening, their commitment to listening to feedback and building the game based on that hints that if enough players want it, then we’re likely going to see it.
Now the question is whether it can return to the full glory of naval warfare that Battlefield 1942 had, or if we should expect it to be a slimmer (but still fun) experience, like seen in Battlefield 4 and a few other games. Only time will tell, but I am excited by the fact that the studio has at least acknowledged it.
While Battlefield 6 won't be released until later this week, on October 10, it appears that some retailers have decided not to adhere to the street date for when the game should be sold, as people are reporting that some have already managed to buy a copy.

It looks like Season 6 in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is about to become a hunting ground, as Activision has officially announced this year’s collaborative IP with The Haunting event.
Get ready, because it’s hunting season for everyone’s favorite alien manhunter, The Predator.
Turtle Beach is expanding its line of Nintendo Switch 2 products with a range of new offerings.
The Predator Is Making His Return to Call of Duty
As announced on X (formerly Twitter), the Predator is coming to Call of Duty, after being away from the franchise for nearly 11 years. Call of Duty fans will probably remember that the Predator made its franchise debut in 2014’s Call of Duty: Ghosts as a field order that featured Jagguarnaut, albeit with Predator-themed elements. This time around, it appears that the collaboration will be much bigger, as the Predator is this year’s “The Haunting” collaboration horror icon.
Based on the artwork, it also appears that we are getting nighttime Verdansk, although that remains to be officially announced. The soldier also seems to be holding an MP-40. We’re expecting a lot more with the launch of Season 6, which will be arriving the same day as The Haunting on October 9, 2025. We should receive more details on the seasonal update shortly, so stay tuned for that.
For those curious, any unlocks from this event will not transfer into Black Ops 7 next month, as the studio isn’t supporting carry-forward functionality, as they’ve committed to keeping the experience “authentic” when the game launches next month, to the extent that they’ve already cancelled some major collaborations that were initially planned for Black Ops 7. How long the game will remain like that is anyones guess, and it will be interesting to see what they do for The Haunting next year.

Turtle Beach is expanding its line of Nintendo Switch 2 products with a range of new offerings. Not only will they have new Rematch and Afterglow colorways, but they’re also introducing new travel cases and screen protectors, all officially licensed for the Nintendo Switch 2.
And some of them are releasing just in time for the Holiday Season!
PC gamers looking to up their game may be excited by this next announcement, as Turtle Beach has just unveiled a brand-new keyboard and mouse! Introducing the Vulcan II TKL keyboard and the Burst II Pro mouse!
Competitive players get ready, because there's plenty to be excited for.
Turtle Beach Unveils a Wave of New Nintendo Switch 2 Accessories
The Holidays are just right around the corner, and it seems that Turtle Beach is planning to go big this year with their Nintendo Switch 2 offerings, as they’ve just announced a bunch of brand-new products launching within the next months. Fans of the Rematch and Afterglow controllers will be happy to know that some new colorways are coming, ranging from all-black to blue, purple, grey, and even white. But the most exciting (in my opinion) is the new transparent editions that let you see right through the controller itself.
Reminds me of the transparent N64s and their controllers that I had while growing up.
“We’re excited to give Nintendo Switch 2 gamers even more ways to play with another new wave of officially licensed Nintendo Switch 2 accessories,” said Cris Keirn, CEO, Turtle Beach Corporation. “With Switch 2 breaking records as the fastest-selling game console of all time, our comprehensive new accessories lineup is all about helping fans dive deeper into their favorite games and enjoy every moment.”
All of these will be available in the coming months, with full details on pricing and availability available below.
In case you missed it, headset and gaming peripheral maker Turtle Beach has just launched a new wave of racing peripherals! If you prefer a steering wheel instead of a controller in racing games, you might want to take a look at Turtle Beach's new slate of products.

It seems that the community has spoken. According to DICE and the Battlefield Studios, the Open Weapons Playlist (which allows unrestricted class guns) was the most popular playlist option among players.
This isn’t just data based on what was played the most, but rather based on those who played both, as a vast majority ended up returning to the open playlist after trying out the closed one based on the studio’s data.
With Battlefield 6's launch inching closer by the day, publisher Electronic Arts has today released the complete trophies/achievements players can obtain while playing through the game's campaign and multiplayer.
A Vast Majority of Battlefield 6 Players That Played Open and Closed Weapons Playlists Went Back to Open
The hot debate in the Battlefield community to lock weapons to classes continues to rage on, though likely not for much longer, as data from the recent open beta for Battlefield 6 has finally given us where players really stand. According to Battlefield Studios in a new X (formerly Twitter) post, a significant number of players who tried out both playlists ultimately returned to the Open Weapons experience.
“There were no differences of note for time players spent in combat between Open and Closed Weapon playlist types. The actual differences were only fractions of a percentage where, rounded up, the results were identical.
Lastly, another key insight from the Open Beta was that the vast majority of players, after trying both playlist types, chose to stick with Open Weapons. This reinforces our belief that Open Weapons is the right path forward for Battlefield 6.”
Earlier this week, publisher Electronic Arts revealed the slate of content for Battlefield 6 Season 1.
It appears that open weapons will be the future of Battlefield, although for those who prefer the classic Battlefield experience, there is some good news. At launch, there will be official Closed Weapons playlists available to choose from. Additionally, Closed Weapons mutators will remain as an option for Portal Experiences for those who want them.
For those big Closed Weapons fans out there thinking that the classic experience also promoted more teamwork and better class synergy, it seems that actually wasn’t the case during the open beta, as the team also published some statistics between the two playlists that show differences to be minimal.
Class Pick Rates:
The map layout was the main deciding factor for class picks. For example, Support had a higher pick rate on Siege of Cairo which is a CQC focused map. On Iberian Offensive with more long distance combat opportunities, we saw an increased pick rate for Recon.
Comparing between Open and Closed Weapon playlists we observed mostly identical class pick rates with 1-2% difference at most.
Match Length:
Match duration increased slightly within Closed Weapons playlists by up to 45 seconds, or about a 3.75% difference for both Breakthrough and Conquest.
Revives:
We also observed a slightly higher revive rate for Closed Weapons at 3% for Breakthrough, and 2% for Conquest, which coincides with the slightly longer match duration.
There you have it, Open Weapons is going to be the way forward for the franchise. The players have voted with their selections, and although it may be hard to believe for some long-time Battlefield fans, the data doesn’t lie, so we’re told.
Battlefield 6 launches on October 10 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If you search really hard, you may be lucky enough to find an early retail copy with the game’s servers reportedly already live. As a reminder to those who pre-ordered digitally, pre-loads are now live.
Those playing on PC will also want to read our Battlefield 6 PC guide to make sure they’re ready ahead of the launch.
With the launch of Battlefield 6 inching nearer and nearer, more info about the game is surfacing, though not everything is coming from Electronic Arts' news announcements and press releases.

The first major paid DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is coming this week, and fans of the popular sandbox experience, Minecraft, are in for a treat as the DLC is a collaboration between the two IPs. That’s right, Minecraft is invading Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds with a whole new playable character.

FIRST WE CROSS THEN WE WORLDS, LET’S CROSSWORLDS – Jack Black, Probably
Available on October 8, 2025, the Minecraft Pack adds Steve, Alex, and Creeper as playable characters, as well as a Minecraft-themed racing track. But that’s not the only surprise that’s coming this week from the world of Minecraft for Sonic Racing fans, as the Minecraft Festival is also starting the same day. Details on the festival are pretty light in terms of what it actually will be, but we know that you won’t need to own the Minecraft Pack in order to participate in it.
The Minecraft Festival will run from October 8, 2025, at 8:00 pm (ET) until October 11th at 7:59 pm (ET).
Expect a patch to drop the very same day that’ll add this content, and more, so stay tuned for more details once they become available.
The Minecraft Pack is the first of six planned packs, included as part of the Season Pass. SpongeBob SquarePants will be the next collaboration pack that will arrive before the end of the year, with the rest arriving in 2026.
While Battlefield 6 won't be released until later this week, on October 10, it appears that some retailers have decided not to adhere to the street date for when the game should be sold, as people are reporting that some have already managed to buy a copy.

Battlefield 6 Day One Patch Confirmed
As revealed in today’s community update on X (formerly Twitter), Battlefield 6 is getting a launch day patch. While the team isn’t yet ready to reveal the full list of changes arriving in the update, they did confirm that there will be over 200 of them and have even given us a preview of some of those changes.
Battlefield 6 Day One Update Preview Notes
Player
You’ll notice that movement feels more responsive, with changes made to pacing and with several movement issues addressed to keep gameplay smooth and balanced.
Weapons
Recoil has been rebalanced on automatic weapons, making long-range gunplay more characteristic, rewarding tap firing and burst control.
Numerous weapon attachments have been fixed so they now display correctly in menus and in-game.
Gadgets
The LTLM II (Laser Designator) has been refined with smoother deploy animations, updated visuals, and several fixes for better feel when used.
The MBT-LAW is now the default Engineer launcher, with a more accurate trajectory, improved guidance, and clearer sights.
The MAS 148 Glaive is enhanced with more realistic missile path, improved zoom and lock-on, sharper scope visuals, and more reliable vehicle damage.
Deploy Beacons are now limited to one spawn per player (four per squad total), helping maintain balance and prevent overuse.
While Battlefield Portal was first introduced in Battlefield 2042, community-created experiences didn't really catch on, largely because most of them didn't offer XP when people played in these user-created playlists.
Maps and Modes
Rush and Breakthrough layouts have been revised for better balance between attackers and defenders.
Operation Firestorm has been updated with improved vaulting, lightning, and performance, while Siege of Cairo spawn killing and Out of Bounds issues have been addressed.
UI & HUD
UI and HUD elements are clearer, with updated overlays, animated pings, new minimap options, and smoother loadout and deploy navigation.
Settings
Settings and controls have expanded with new options like VO volume sliders, sprint bob reduction, and a camera roll toggle for accessibility, plus refinements across platforms.
Audio
Audio has been cleaned up so pings are easier to hear, weapons and vehicles sound sharper, and missing delayed effects won’t get in the way of your awareness.
Network
Netcode improvements reduce desync, make time-to-death feel fairer, and address cases of invisible damage.
It’s only a tease of the full list, but there are some very notable changes there. We’ve known that player movement was going to get adjusted based on the previous Open Beta, but it’s still nice to see it again. Elsewhere, several mechanics have been rebalanced, fixed, and even sport better animations, with new options now also being available for some things. More volume settings, camera toggles, and other things.
The big one that is sticking out for us is the new minimap options. They don’t tell us exactly what was added, but we’re going to take a guess and assume it’s placement options, with us now being able to move the minimap to the top of the screen, rather than keeping it at the bottom.
All in all, these changes are already looking promising, and we cannot wait to see the full day-one patch notes for Battlefield 6 when it releases later this week.
Battlefield 6 launches on October 10, 2025, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As a reminder, pre-loads are now live, and for PC players, you’ll want to check out our Battlefield 6 PC guide to make sure your system is ready for release.

While Battlefield 6 won’t be released until later this week, on October 10, it appears that some retailers have decided not to adhere to the street date for when the game should be sold, as people are reporting that some have already managed to buy a copy.
Retailers breaking street dates of games (whether intentionally or not) is nothing new, and we’ve seen it happen to a lot of big game releases.
What’s interesting with this one, however, is the claim that servers are online.
Earlier this week, publisher Electronic Arts revealed the slate of content for Battlefield 6 Season 1.
Battlefield 6 PS5 Discs Already Out Before Oct. 10
Multiple people online have shared sealed copies of Battlefield 6 for PS5 seemingly out in the wild. While there is a chance that these are doctored given how easy it is to print the game’s cover art and slap it on a PS5 case, we’re giving people the benefit of the doubt since there’s more than one. Here’a na image from Reddit user grecea_vlad:
Not only that, but when asked if they can play the campaign, the same poster said yes, and that servers are online.
A few things to note: we have no way of verifying if the servers are up or not, but there is a chance it is, and that’s because of reviewers (press and content creators). EA could have turned the servers on so that reviewers can get some hands-on time with the final build of the game. Usually, when this happens, a complete server wipe is triggered on launch day, so that everyone starts their progression at the same time.
For PC players who want to jump in the Battlefield 6 player pool, you might come across obstacles in order to run the game.
If you’re one of the lucky few who got a copy and are able to play, best to blast through the short campaign, earn those trophies, so they are out of the way.
For the file sizes of the game on each platform, check out our article about it, which includes the store links. If you already have the game pre-loaded, we have also included the global unlock times, so you can play the moment the game becomes available.
The wait won’t be long now, as Battlefield 6 launches on Oct. 10 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Expect a flood of coverage here on MP1st.
Electronic Arts has blown the lid wide open for Battlefield 6 Season 1! It appears that most of our report on this earlier this month was accurate, as we will be receiving the leaked Eastwood and Blackwell maps.
While the PC version of Control received the version 1.30 patch months ago, console gamers (PS5, Xbox Series) are finally getting it today, October 6! Players will see this as Control update 1.000.005, and this adds a slew of new content and graphical improvements.
Chief among the additions is Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience, which features a voiceover by the legendary Hideo Kojima!
The file size on PS5 is at a manageable 630 MB, and this update download also adds new outfits that were previously locked as pre-order bonuses, as well as graphical improvements on all console versions.
While Alan Wake 2 was one of the best games of 2024, the horror game didn't become officially profitable until this year, which is surprising.
For the complete patch notes, head on below.
Control’s Oct. 6 Update Adds Hideo Kojima Mission, New Outfits and More via Patch 1.000.005
OUTFITS
The following outfits are now available to all players. The outfits can be accessed and equipped from the Control Point in the Central Executive Sector area.

MISSIONS
All players will receive the mission Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience, featuring voiceover by Hideo Kojima. The mission is playable when you pick up the Dr Tokui Tapes collectible in the Extrasensory Lab of the Research Sector. (This mission was previously exclusive to the PlayStation 4 Digital Deluxe version of Control.)
GRAPHICS [PLAYSTATION 5]

• [PlayStation 5 Pro] Added PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) support. Using PSSR results in smoother edges, improved hair, and vegetation visual quality. • [PlayStation 5 Pro] Improved Screen Space Reflections in Performance Mode
• [PlayStation 5 Pro] Updated Texture and Shadow resolution filtering (anisotropic)
While gamers might be familiar with the term "AAA" (triple A) when it comes to games, the term "AA" (double A) isn't used as much.

Unless something breaks with this patch, don’t expect another update for Control, as Remedy is super busy developing the sequel, Alan Wake 3 and Max Payne 1&2 Remake. Speaking of which, the games’ release windows have been revealed, but this doesn’t account for delays, which is normal for video games.
If Remedy releases another patch, expect it here on MP1st.
While Remedy Entertainment is mostly known for crafting single-player games that rely on a rich narrative experience to rope in players, that's about to change with FBC: Firebreak, the studio's first multiplayer-driven co-op game that's set to be released in summer this year.
The team behind Call of Duty’s RICOCHET anti-cheat system was in full battle mode this past week when the Black Ops 7 early access beta launched. While they anticipated that some cheaters and hackers would get through (which have been dealt with), it seems that the new security requirements and measures put in place are paying off in a big way.
Activision and the Call of Duty Studios might finally have an answer to cheaters, as they’ve revealed that RICOCHET has stopped 97% of cheaters right at the sign-in screen.
In an unprecedented move for the Call of Duty franchise, Treyarch is finally giving players something that they have been demanding for nearly a decade.
RICOCHET Aggressive New Security Measures Are Keeping the Majority of Call of Duty Cheaters Out of Black Ops 7 Beta
As revealed on X (formerly Twitter), Activision has disclosed details about their anti-cheat system for Call of Duty, RICOCHET, and how it performed during the first week of the Black Ops 7 early access beta.
“Cheaters were expected. But our upgraded systems caught them faster than ever, powered by strengthened TPM 2.0 checks and automated systems, helping to eliminate a large number of attempts to cheat. Those who did manage to slip through didn’t last long. Most never made it into a match.”
So just how well has RICOCHET been working at protecting players from cheaters? Well, let’s look at the numbers:
97% of cheaters were stopped within 30 minutes of their first sign-in.
Fewer than 1% of cheating attempts reached a match, and those who did were removed within minutes.
With RICOCHET stopping a vast majority of cheaters from entering the game, the company says that this has put a lot of pressure on cheatmakers and providers, with major ones now labeling their tools as useless. However, blocking them in-game isn’t the only route of protection that Activision is taking, as they are also looking into taking actions beyond in-game.
“Major cheat providers are now labeling their tools “unusable” or “detected.” Resellers are acknowledging they have no reliable products to offer for Black Ops 7. We’re not only disabling their cheats, but also their illegal businesses as well. We have now directly contributed to the closure of over 40 cheat developers and resellers since Black Ops 6 launched. Vendors sharing clips during Beta were already on our radar, and we will pursue them beyond in-game enforcement.”
It appears that Activision and Treyarch Studios were serious when they stated that they wanted skins for Black Ops 7 to feel "authentic," as it has been revealed that they have already canceled some of their upcoming collaborations.
Looking ahead, with the game now in full open beta and launch being next month, Activision reminds players once again that this fight against cheaters is a fight that the whole industry is facing, though they remain committed to the cause.
“The fight against cheating is an industry-wide challenge – and we’re committed to leading the charge. We continue to bring new systems online during Beta, fine-tuning our protections, responding faster and gaining deeper insights. We’re dedicated to transparency, community feedback, and constant evolution in our fight for fair play.”
Impressive numbers if they’re to be believed. I’ll say from playing the beta myself, it does feel different when it comes to cheaters than in past entries. That’s not to say it can’t be an issue down the road, but I’ve yet to face anyone that I suspected of cheating, unlike in previous titles and their betas.
It’s good to see the company so committed to this, and let’s hope the game remains mostly cheater-free after its launch. As always, if you suspect someone is cheating in the game, please use the in-game tools to report them. Every report counts!
