Outriders Worldslayer Endgame Reveal Set For This Friday

While we’re just a couple of weeks away from the release of Outriders Worldslayer, fans won’t have to wait very long to get more sneak peeks as today People Can Fly announced a new broadcast centered around Outriders Worldslayer’s endgame content.

Taking to Twitter today, the official Outriders account revealed that they will be hosting a broadcast this Friday to debut the first look at Outriders Worldslayer’s Endgame content.

About Outriders Worldslayer:

OUTRIDERS WORLDSLAYER is a brutal 1-3 player co-op looter shooter set in an original, dark sci-fi universe.

The full experience of OUTRIDERS WORLDSLAYER includes the original OUTRIDERS game, with all the numerous quality of life improvements and Expedition content added since launch.

You’ll create your own Outrider from one of 4 powerful classes and journey across the diverse and deadly planet Enoch.

Begin with the original OUTRIDERS campaign or use the boost to jump straight into the Worldslayer campaign with a fully geared up level 30 Outrider.

Here you will face off against the most deadly Altered ever encountered – Ereshkigal, in humanity’s last fight for survival.

Beyond her even greater horrors exist in the ultimate endgame experience taking place in the ancient ruins of Tarya Gratar.

Combining aggressive gunplay with violent powers and an arsenal of increasingly twisted customisable weaponry and gear-sets, OUTRIDERS WORLDSLAYER offers countless hours of visceral gameplay from one of the finest shooter developers in the industry – People Can Fly

While the details are still light as to what the endgame content is for Worldslayer, we do know from our on-hands preview and closed session of the expansion that the content is being dubbed “Trial of Tarya Gratar” and is said to be a completely new experience different from the current endgame expedition in the base game. We’ll have a better idea hopefully this Friday as to what exactly that means, but for now enjoy the short tease provided above.

Techland Says Goodbye to the Original Dying Light as Support Finally Comes to an End

After countless DLC, updates, and enhancements, Techland is finally saying farewell to the original Dying Light with the launch of the new Definitive edition.

Dying Light fans should be no stranger to the lengthy support that Techland has dished out over the last seven years for Dying Light, and while it is sad to hear that they are finally moving on, it is without one last goodbye, and a heartfelt message from the team themselves.

Dying Light has been a fantastic journey and we are grateful to the community for supporting the game with us during these last 7 years. However, we also understand the sheer number of updates and DLCs released for our game might be daunting for new and returning players. We don’t want you to miss out on any part of the full Dying Light experience.

That’s why we are proud to introduce Dying Light: Definitive Edition! This ultimate edition will premiere on June 9 for a massive discount of up to 70% off!

Dying Light: Definitive Edition will be available on all platforms as a digital release. The Nintendo Switch version will release at a later date as both a digital and retail release.

The Definitive Edition consists of the base game and all 26 DLCs (including skin bundles and expansion packs). It’s the best way to experience the amount of content and love we have poured into this game over 7 long years.

That’s not all! We couldn’t be happier with the awesome community that fully embraced their experience in the city of Harran and kept motivating us to aim ever higher. To thank you for allowing us to spend all these great years with Dying Light, we would like to present everyone with a free DLC – Harran Tactical Unit Bundle for a limited time—2 weeks after the Definitive Edition’s premiere. This offer will be available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG, the PlayStation Store, and the Microsoft Store on Xbox.

If you already own the Platinum Edition of the game, you will be automatically upgraded to Definitive Edition for free! You will be able to enjoy 5 new bundles at no additional cost.

This release marks an important moment in the history of Dying Light. On the one hand, it’s a nod to 7 years of immense love and support for this game; on the other, it’s the grand finale of our adventures in Harran. But let’s see what the future brings. And don’t worry—we will keep a steady reroll of previous events for you to enjoy.

Once again, we couldn’t be happier with the awe-inspiring memories this game has brought us, primarily because of our wonderful community. And yet, we also feel it’s the perfect time to move on and shift our focus towards brand-new adventures in the city of Villedor.

Yours truly, #PeopleOfTechland

I think a lot of fans will agree with this, but thank you Techland for the amazing support you have provided us over the years. And while this chapter in their history is coming to a close this week, Dying Light fans can rest easy knowing that this same level of commitment will continue into the sequel itself, Dying Light 2 (read our review here.)

E3 2023 Confirmed to Be Happening, and Will Be a Physical and Digital Show

With the COVID-19 pandemic slowly waning throughout the world, more and more on-site events are being pushed through. One of these said events will be E3 2023! Following the event’s no-show the past few years, the ESA (Entertainment Software Association) has confirmed that E3 2023 will be a thing, and that it will be both a physical and digital show.

Here’s what ESA CEO Stan Pierre-Louis had to say about the upcoming event:

We’re excited about coming back in 2023 with both a digital and an in-person event…As much as we love these digital events, and as much as they reach people and we want that global reach, we also know that there’s a really strong desire for people to convene–to be able to connect in person and see each other and talk about what makes games great.

While there’s no digital E3 event happening this year, the Summer Game Fest will be kicking off this week, and we should get a few game announcements (though don’t expect a ton), updates on already announced titles and more.

Are you excited to attend E3 once again or should that be scrapped in favor of digital events like Sony’s State of Play and Nintendo Direct?

Black Desert Online Update 2.40 Patch Notes | Black Desert Online June 8 Update Patch Notes:

Arena of Solare

 “FREEDOM… to fight!”

The preseason for the Arena of Solare begins with today’s update.
It’s the first-ever 3 vs 3 PvP arena in Black Desert where all players battle for victory with equalized gear.
We will later let you know of our future plans for this content little by little.
I hope you can start enjoying PvP in Black Desert from today as you battle freely.

● The preseason for the Arena of Solare has begun.
– The Arena of Solare is a 3 vs 3 match-type PvP content that you can enjoy without having to worry about differences in gear specs.
– You can participate in the Arena of Solare from Lv. 60 with a character that has completed the Succession/Awakening questline.
– You start with Arena of Solare exclusive gear and can unlock other pieces of gear to equip as you progress.
– You may either gain or lose points depending on the Arena of Solare match results, and will get Solare emblems depending on your score.
– You can use the “Find Match,” “Set Gear,” and “History” options of the Arena of Solare menu by going to Menu (ESC) -> War (F7).

How to Participate

● You can participate in the Arena of Solare from Lv. 60 with a character who has completed their Succession/Awakening questline.
– Press the “Find Match” button from the Arena of Solare menu for auto-matching.
– You will automatically enter the battlefield if all 6 participants accept after matching is complete.
– You can only start matching after equipping the exclusive gear.

Set Gear

● Adjust your exclusive gear loadout via the “Set Gear” feature from the Arena of Solare menu.
– You can select the gear you want to equip for the battlefield and also select crystals you want to equip on your gear from the “Set Gear” window.
– Early on, you have access to basic gear and crystals. You can later use “Seals of Solare” that you get once a match ends to unlock a variety of other gear and crystals.

Arena of Solare Rules

● For the Arena of Solare matches, the team with the best 3 out of 5 will win. You’ll get a maximum of 3 minutes per round.
– The team with the higher total HP among the surviving members will win when the match ends.
– If the total HP is the same, the team with a higher total damage wins.
– The match will conclude in a tie if the total HP and total damage of both teams are the same.
● In the Arena of Solare, not only will you be provided with exclusive gear, but you also cannot use potions, meals, elixirs, etc. Also, the effects of certain skills will be adjusted.
– The stats for the Arena of Solare exclusive gear will be applied instead of the stats of the gear currently equipped to your character.
– You cannot use any type of potions. However, your character’s default HP/MP/WP/SP recovery will greatly increase.
* The amount naturally recovered within the Arena of Solare will be similar to the recovery amount you get from using Ornette’s or Odore’s Spirit Essences with a Fairy that’s acquired the skill “Miraculous Cheer V.”
– Using skills that recover HP within the Arena of Solare battlefield will recover only half the amount normally recovered.
– In the Arena of Solare, the Guard Gauge, a defensive feature of all classes, will be equalized across classes.
– The AP, Damage Reduction, Accuracy, and Evasion stats will be halved for all characters.
– The remaining time for the effects of meals, elixirs, and perfumes will not be wasted. Their effects will instead be nullified and their time remaining paused while within the Arena of Solare if you used the items before entering. The effects will be applied again and the remaining time will resume being consumed upon returning to the previous location after the match’s conclusion.
– The stats for your character’s max HP will increase by 2,000 and your character’s Critical Hit Rate, Attack and Casting Speed, Movement Speed will be at Lv. 5 while in the arena.
– Upon entering the battlefield, Black Spirit’s Rage, HP, MP, SP, WP, cooldown, and other supplementary resources will all be recovered.
– The cooldown for Emergency Escape will reset each round.
– The “traces of elements” buffs for skills, exclusive gear, and the battlefield will only be applied in the arena.
– The Total Family Bonus from Adventure Journals will not be applied.

Liana’s Tool Bag

Valentine’s Apprentices, Liana and her twin brother, Ludowig, have come up with an incredible invention.
The invention of “Liana’s Tool Bag” will help Adventurers who enjoy Gathering to manage their inventories and Gathering tools.
The tool bag holds one of each type of Gathering tool. You can either press F5 or F6, or scroll your mouse wheel to conveniently engage in each type of Gathering activity by equipping the tool bag.
Many of our Adventurers have been wanting this for a while now, and we also have been wanting to develop it, which is why it’s such a pleasure to finally present this item to our Adventurers with this week’s update.
We recommend you fill up your Energy before proceeding with the quest to obtain Liana’s Tool Bag as you’ll need to pass a trivia quiz!

● “Liana’s Tool Bag,” a bag that automatically equips all tools held within to conveniently perform Gathering activities, has been invented.
– You can use the [Tool Bag] menu that will appear on the Inventory UI upon obtaining Liana’s Tool Bag to store one of each type of Gathering tool.
* Lumbering Axe, Fluid Collector, Butcher Knife, Pickaxe, Hoe, and Tanning Knife

– The Interaction button for the proper Gathering materials will appear on the Ring Menu if you get close to the Gathering materials while Liana’s Tool Bag with the Gathering tools is equipped in a slot.
– Use F5 or F6, or activate your mouse cursor and scroll the mouse wheel from the Ring Menu if you want to adjust settings for Interaction.
* Herbs: Barehanded Gathering ↔ Gathering via a Hoe
* Trees: Lumbering ↔ Collecting fluid
* Animals: Butchering ↔ Extracting ↔ Tanning
– The settings for Interaction for Gathering will be set until you re-adjust them.

● There’s a rumor going around about how to obtain Liana’s Tool Bag.
– Rumor says Adventurers who get recognized as a “knowledgeable Adventurer” by answering all of Liana’s riddles correctly will receive a special bag invented by Valentine’s Apprentices Liana and her younger twin brother, Ludowig.
– You can accept “[Tool Bag] Liana’s Invention” from the Black Spirit from Lv. 49, then find Liana to accept and complete “[Tool Bag] Liana’s Trivia” Part 1 and 2 to obtain Liana’s Tool Bag (once per Family).
* [TIP] We suggest you prepare Energy Potions since a lot of energy may be consumed during the trivia quiz.

* You cannot use Liana’s Tool Bag features in Gamepad UI mode yet, but we are planning to add the features as soon as we are able to.

[DESIGNER NOTES ON GAMEPLAY EXPERIENCE]

Juke is a brilliant new rogue that brings with her tons of cutting-edge technology to change the way you can maneuver and set up around the map as a defender. The Juke Boots offer a way to reach heights that were before unreachable! Your Laser Defense Drones allow you to quickly entrench yourself in a new position, while the Reflector introduces a fun new way to send your opponents cascading to their demise!

=[ABILITY AND PASSIVE]

  • Ability: Laser Defense Drone
The Laser Defense Drone is a thrown deployable that, upon making contact with a surface, will attach and being seeking out enemies that come within sight and range. Once an enemy is in range, the drone will target and fire at rogues with an advanced laser that will deal tick damage over time. Enemy rogues will need to either destroy the drone or exit its effective range. Juke is able to charge up to and deploy two drones at a time.
  • Passive: Juke Boots
Juke Boots are a modifier to her dodge roll. With 3 charges(that can recharge), Juke is able to quickly maneuver the same directions of the normal dodge roll but with a reduced cooldown. Additionally she can use her boots mid-air to evade and make positioning plays not possible by other rogues. If she is out of charges, she will dodge roll normally until her boots are recharged.

YEAR 2 SEASON 2 RANKED REWARDED

The following rewards will be given to those who are marked veterans in ranked and to those who have achieved Rogue tier for Year 2 Season 2 of Ranked:

YEAR 2 SEASON 3 RANKED REWARDS

The following rewards will be given to those who are marked veterans in ranked and to those who have achieved Rogue tier during the active season:

SUPPLY DROPS

We’re adding a system in Rogue Company called Supply Drops and here’s a TLDR:

  • Supply Drops will allow players to unlock in-game items while playing Rogue Company.
  • There are two versions of supply drops- Reward Supply Drops and Rogue Supply Drops. You can earn Reward Supply Drops through play, or spend Reputation to unlock Rogue Supply Drops.
  • There is also an option to unlock Rogue Supply Drops with Rogue Bucks, but we believe the vast majority of Rogue Supply Drops will be unlocked with Reputation.
  • Each Reward Supply Drop will give you one item, and each Rogue Supply Drop will give you two items.
  • The Supply Table is visible in game, you have an equal chance to obtain each item, and you will only unlock items you currently don’t own.
  • Supply Drops are completely optional and offer no advantages in-game

If you’d like more details please check out our blog!

DEPOT VISUAL UPDATE

In this update, we are reintroducing Depot, a skirmish map that has undergone a visual overhaul to not only meet our standard for quality but also have a better place in the world of Rogue Company. Depot is one of many training grounds used by Rogue Company for Rogues to hone their skills(or even settle scores with each other) to keep in peak condition. We look forward to your feedback!

PROJECT SAINT IMPROVEMENTS AND FEATURES

DRAFT PICK OVERHAUL

In this update, we aim to improve the overall draft pick experience for our ranked and custom games. This overhaul entails a polished new rogue select experience, cleaner ban experience and unique rogue limitations. In addition, players will no longer re-draft their rogues at half-time. This will have players approach their matches in a more tactical ‘give and take’ mindset in the rogue select phase of the match. We hope you enjoy this update and look forward to your feedback

RANKED STRIKEOUT

To further expand the ranked experience for our players: as an experiment, we are introducing a separate ranked queue for Strikeout. Strikeout has shown to be a very popular game mode and, for a good while, there wasn’t a place that the strikeout diehards could graduate to and have a place in the competitive environment. In this update, please try out the ranked experience for Strikeout, complete with the Draft Pick Rogue Select improvement that we detailed above. Let us know what you think!

That’s it for the patch notes. Rogue Company is out now for the PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch platforms.

Developers From Focus and Arkane Announce New Studio ZeDrimeTim

Industry artists and developers from studios like Focus Home Interactive and Arkane have announced that they are founding a new studio based in Paris, France. The studio’s name is ZeDrimeTim and has some eye-catching names involved like Romuald Capron, the former studio director of Arkane Lyon (Deathloop and Dishonored), and the former CEO of Focus Home Interactive, Cédric Lagarrigue.

The studio also includes two big names in movie animation, Mika Tanguy and Gilles Aujard, who aim to help the studio make new IP with visuals at the quality of feature films. The announcement of the studio’s creation also included an announcement of their first game called Darwin’s Paradox. The announcement revealed that Darwin’s Paradox is being made in Unreal Engine 5 and is a platformer that takes inspiration from cinematic games like Limbo and Little Nightmares.

ZeDrimeTim’s announcement also mentioned that the studio received funding from a handful of different parties to allow them to do pre-production for Darwin’s Paradox. With the studio’s previous work on some big titles across the industry, it will be very interesting to see where Darwin’s Paradox goes.

Darwin’s Paradox releases in 2024 for PC and Consoles.

Sony Bend Studio New Game Confirmed to Be a New IP, New Logo Unveiled

Bend Studio, the developers of games like Days Gone and Uncharted: Golden Abyss have unveiled a new logo! In the post, the developers detailed how the new logo would properly reflect their future as a studio, while also being able to be stylized for each project’s tone. However, fans of the studio will also be excited to know that the blog post gave a small hint regarding Sony Bend Studio’s new game.

Fans have been waiting to hear about Sony Bend Studio’s new game after it was revealed that their pitch for Days Gone 2 was denied by Sony. The blog post is light on details but confirms that the studio’s next project is an entirely new IP. The developers also mention that the game will iterate on the open-world technology and design established in Days Gone while introducing multiplayer elements. Unfortunately, there is no indication or clue of how long it will be until they will have more information to share with players.

With how diverse the studio’s portfolio is it seems that Bend Studio’s new project could be nearly anything. However, they have displayed a penchant for third-person shooters, so it seems likely that it will be an open-world third-person shooter of some kind. Hopefully, this will help it satisfy fans that would love a sequel to Days Gone while also appealing to new players as well.

Battlefield 2042 Season One Hands-On Impressions: Zero Time

After months of bug fixes and overhauls to the game, EA and DICE will finally release the first season of content to Battlefield 2042 on June 9. We were given the opportunity to preview the new content and hear from DICE about the game’s inaugural season, and what their goals are for Season One: Zero Hour.

New Content

Battlefield 2042: Season One – Zero Hour brings with it the first content update the game has seen since launch. Here’s a summary of the new content (for a more in-depth look at the new content, head on here).

  • New map – Exposure
  • New specialist – Ewalina Lis
  • New weapons – BSV-M Marksman Rifle, Ghostmaker R10 crossbow
  • New gadgets – Smoke Grenade Launcher
  • New vehicle – Stealth Helicopters
  • UI and menu improvements
  • Season One Battle Pass and Cosmetics Store

New Map: Exposure

Exposure is a new map set in the Canadian wilderness which features large, open forested areas, tall cliffsides, and indoor facilities. The outskirts of the map are large and open, which makes snipers and long range weapons powerful, while the center of the map features more close quarter indoor areas.

We had a chance to try the recently added Breakthrough 64 mode on this map, which cuts the amount of players in half. The Battlefield community has been vocal about their disdain for the 128-player modes DICE decided to go with at launch, and for good reason. 128 players was just way too chaotic, and could make capturing points a living nightmare, particularly in a mode like Breakthrough as I mentioned in my pre-launch impressions.

Thankfully, the change to 64 players is definitely an improvement. It gives you the opportunity to actually move around the map as a unit and go on long flanks without immediately dying. 2042 actually feels more like Battlefield in 64 player modes.

Unfortunately, Exposure as a map is forgettable at best, and highly frustrating at worst. In Breakthrough, for the most part defenders are able to sit on their point and pick attackers off at will. One of the B points is a perfect example of this. It’s set in a long tunnel which funnels attackers into a small chokepoint, where they have to fight a team of defenders to capture the point. There is some cover but making moves on the point is difficult. The new Smoke Grenade launcher helps with this, but overall this is just a frustrating point to attack on and is fairly indicative of the entire map in Breakthrough.

Conquest is a similar story, although there is a lot more freedom in where you can attack. Sadly, we weren’t able to get a full grasp of how Conquest plays on Exposure due to rampant networking issues during the event. We were only able to get a few minutes of playtime in a half-full lobby because most of the media members couldn’t connect. From what we played however, Exposure seems to play a bit better in Conquest but some of the large, open areas were similarly frustrating to attack on.

The majority of the map is large and open which makes makes snipers extremely powerful. This is balanced out by a few indoor areas that are perfect for close quarters combat. This makes Exposure perfect for the BSV-M DMR, which has a built in suppressor and is the first weapon in the game that’s able to switch from semi-auto to full-auto modes on the fly.

As for vehicles, they’re actually somewhat kept in check on this map. Tanks are mostly limited to the outer areas, since the center features a tall cliffside with no real roads through it. Aerial vehicles however, will likely have a field day on Exposure. That includes the new RAH-68 Huron and YG-99 Hannibal Stealth Choppers, which are the first assault helicopters in Battlefield 2042. These also have two modes which can be freely switched. Assault Mode is the heli that longtime Battlefield players know and love. Stealth Mode, is a secondary mode which makes the vehicle invisible to radar and targeting systems. Aerial vehicles like these have a clear view of the map and and can freely shoot down at enemies from the sky. There is one new counter to vehicles however, and that’s Lis.

New Specialist – Ewalina Lis

Season One also adds a new specialist to the game. Lis’ kit revolves around anti-vehicle capabilities. Her specialist ability is the G-84 guided missile launcher, which can be fully controlled in mid-air and is perfect for destroying both ground and aerial vehicles. This is strictly an anti vehicle launcher though — its damage to infantry is reduced.

Her passive ability ‘Armor Hunter’ automatically spots enemy vehicles on the radar and can also highlights damaged vehicles through walls. Vehicles were a major criticism of the game at launch so a specialist like this has been sorely needed in Battlefield 2042. Her rockets can take down vehicles in 2-4 shots so hopefully this will take care of some of the vehicle spam.

Unfortunately, there just isn’t much more to say about Lis. Her kit is nice but isn’t game changing… and that’s pretty much where I stand on Season One in general. The new map is fine and while Lis is a nice addition, she probably should have been in the game at launch.

After seven months, Battlefield 2042 has been hemorrhaging players, and unfortunately Season One probably isn’t going to be the big update that brings everyone back. DICE confirmed to us that Season One will be 12 weeks long, so this is pretty much it for the next few months. There will be occasional mid-season updates — DICE confirmed to us, for example, that a player profile and stats page will be added to the game during Season One. As for new maps, weapons, and Specialists? Those will have to wait until at least October when the Season 2 rolls around.
