Battlefield 2042 Playlist Update This December 14:

Here’s the announcement from the official Battlefield Direct Communciation Twitter account:

Hopefully, this proves to be a successful experiment that DICE considers leaving it in as permanent. Having said that, I am wondering why Rush wasn’t added in. I mean, surely, this is something players would want, right?

NEW LTM: Battle Zone

Two teams fight to be the last one standing in the Battle Zone! The Safe Zone starts large and will get smaller as the round progresses. Be careful, however, because you will begin to take damage if you step outside of it. This mode also features a new shop, no health regeneration, and weapon crates at various map locations.

Main Rules

  • This is a 4v4 team-based mode where each player only has one life and a best of 7.
  • Each round, you will have a baseline of cash plus what was earned from eliminations, downs, assists, and revives. Your cash does not carry over from round to round (no saving!).
  • You will start with a Secondary weapon, but you can find weapon crates in various map locations containing Primary weapons.
  • Purchased gadgets will not carry over from round to round (use it or lose it!), but Perks will be permanent for the entire match.
  • Your base health is 125, but there is no auto regeneration.
  • Mythic crates have a chance to spawn each round.
  • You will see mythic crates in the map and on the minimap when they spawn.
  • This may happen when the first circle draws or after the first 30-second timer.

Pings

  • You are now able to ping weapons.

UI Rarity

  • You will now see a rarity color of the weapon or armor you have in your HUD.
  • You will also see the rarity of the weapon you currently have equipped.

Perks

  • There is no limit to how many perks you can purchase, and they last the entire match.
  • Available Perks
  • Stalker: Removes aim down sights movement speed penalty.
  • Quick Hands: Increase weapon swap speed, reload speed and reload while sprinting.
  • Padded Steps: Silence the sound of your footsteps when not sprinting.
  • Lifeline: Increase revive speed by 50%.
  • Ghost: Immune to all reveals.
  • Headstrong: Gain 25 armor.
  • Restock: Eliminations restore ammo and drop a supply kit.
  • Tracker: See enemy footprints and reveal enemies when you shoot them.
  • Blaster: Increase explosive damage by 50%.
  • Tenacity: Reduce explosive damage by 40%.
  • Crackshot: Increase headshot damage by 30%.
  • Bulletproof: Reduce firearm[ body damage by 20%.

Consumable Gadgets

  • You can only carry 2 different gadgets into each round.
  • All gadgets are consumable and will not carry over from round to round.
  • Most gadgets have an upgrade that will give a greater number of that gadget.

Armor

All Armor is repairable.

  • Rare (Blue): 25 armor
  • Epic (Purple): 50 armor
  • Legendary (Gold): 75 armor
  • Mythic (Orange): 100 armor

ROGUES

Anvil

  • Ability now recharges every 35 seconds.
  • Two barricades can now be placed.

Saint

With Saint now having Lifeline and drone flight speed increased, we think he will be completing many more revives than before. As such, we’re slightly reducing the flat heal given to Saint and his teammates when completing a revive.

  • Drone now travels to downed teammates 50% faster.
  • Saint’s passive heal on reviving now heals for 60 instead of 80 health.

The Fixer

  • Ability duration increased from 6 to 10 seconds.
  • Increased the heat signature of enemies, allowing you to see them behind cover.

Seeker

  • Improved Bow radius revealed from 8 to 10 meters.

WEAPONS

KA30

We feel the KA30 is a bit too stable, especially when upgraded, for the amount of damage and versatility it offers.

  • Increased recoil
  • Nerf recoil reduction upgrade

LR15 Fullbody

  • Headshot damage increased from 140 to 150.
  • Body damage increased from 70 to 80.

P12K

  • Clip size increased from 9 to 12.

Warrant

  • Body damage increased from 21 to 22
  • Head damage increased from 30 to 32

Riptide

  • Damage Falloff adjusted

HRM30K

The HRM 30k is tuned to be a headshot gun through and through. We want to make sure players aren’t fighting against too much reticle bloom when they’re expecting to hit headshots, so we’re making the weapon bloom a bit less at base and moving the bloom reduction upgrade to allow for faster access in your build. We feel bullet penetration is too niche of an upgrade for a weapon already niche in other ways. It is the only assault rifle without a magazine size upgrade on top of having the smallest magazine size in class. We believe subbing in a smaller mag size upgrade instead of bullet penetration will feel more worth purchasing.

  • Level 1 upgrade no longer provides bullet penetration.
  • Level 1 upgrade now reduces reticle bloom.
  • Level 2 upgrade no longer provides reticle bloom reduction.
  • Level 2 upgrade now increases magazine size from 20 to 30
  • Reduced base reticle bloom

A3 Salvo

  • Base Range increased 2m
  • Final Falloff range increased 2m

Spitfire

  • Improved Aim Over Shoulder Accuracy

GADGETS

Tear Gas

  • Slow increased to 25%
  • Distortion effect increased by 15%

Flashbang

  • Fuse timer reduced from 1.75 to 1.5s.

MAPS

Highcastle

  • Removed a cardboard box that would pop a player head out of cover.

Favelas

  • Players can now stand on the concrete tree.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue with the “Good Company” achievement that prevented it from completed.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to disconnect from the game on the Match Victory screen.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Nova Weapon Wrap to create audio distortion in matches.
  • Fixed an issue that made all outfits have poor visual fidelity.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the party count to update when creating a party in the main lobby.
  • Fixed camera clipping issues on Wanted map.
  • Fixed an issue with the Custom Lobby no longer displaying the selected map.
  • Fixed an issue where hit SFX would not play when hitting a player with an explosive if target player had Tenacity.
  • Fixed an issue where smaller grenades would appear to float in the player’s hands.
  • Fixed an issue where a reconnecting player occasionally had the incorrect Rogue portrait.
  • Fixed an issue with the Dima Heist skin’s cash clipping through the top flap.
  • Fixed an issue in the tutorial that prevented players from dodge-rolling under a falling barrier.
  • Fixed an issue with the description for the MLX Mark 4 Labyrinth weapon wrap.
  • Fixed an issue with aim assist when targeting players that were peeking from behind cover.
  • Fixed an issue that caused sprint to break when dodgerolling out of aiming down sights.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the “Down 10 Enemies” milestone to not track correctly when hit by an ability or gadget.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Nemesis Dahlia’s Ability VO to play very loudly.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Jump O’ Lantern Wingsuit to lack it’s face.
  • Fixed an issue with the Windmill Shake emote audio persisting between rounds.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Digital Snow Hoverboard to display the incorrect rarity.
  • Fixed an issue on Wanted that caused players to get stuck on a gate.
  • Fixed an issue in Wingman that caused capture point progress to fail to display.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to lose postmatch score information if they disconnected in a match.
  • Fixed an issue where emotes would display for the wrong Rogue when selecting an emote on the Main Menu.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Ronin to perform a crouch-walk animation when dodgerolling while reclaiming her ability knife.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Account Boosts to display “31 minutes” duration after activating a 30 minute Account Boost.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players using a controller to be unable to navigate to the Sprays tab when hovering over emotes they do not own.
  • [Xbox One] Fixed an issue that caused players to be unable to skip the cinematic when launching Rogue Company without signing into a profile.
  • [Nintendo Switch] Fixed an issue with Cyber Skunk Gl1tch displaying incorrectly.

We’ll update the post with the actual notes once it’s available.

1.12.0.0 – December 14, 2021

Seasonal Adventures have come to Minecraft Dungeons, with Season 1: Cloudy Climb! This release brings new features like the Tower and an all-new reward progression system. Join weekly challenges to earn Adventure Points and work towards unlocking exclusive rewards, with each new season bringing new rewards, from precious pets and fashionable flairs to emphatic emotes and captivating cosmetics.

Check out the Introduction to Seasonal Adventures video for a run through on the new features! The Seasonal Adventures FAQ is also a great resource to learn even more about seasons in Minecraft Dungeons.

This update also brings many bug fixes to the game. Please search for any bugs you find on bugs.mojang.com and let us know what you think at feedback.minecraft.net. We appreciate your continued support in reporting issues! If you’re looking to join a community of like-minded players, hit up the official Minecraft Dungeons Discord server at discord.gg/MinecraftDungeons.

The Tower:

The Tower is a new gameplay area, available for all players as part of the free Cloudy Climb update.

In the Tower, the player controls an avatar: a character that initially has no gear, but slowly collects it through a selection of rewards you earn as you progress. The Tower itself has 30 different floors, with each one harder than the previous one, and the goal is to make it as high up as you possibly can for the best rewards!

cloudyclimb-1.png

The Tower is home to both familiar mobs and bosses from Minecraft Dungeons – but also a few new foes as well. Not all Tower inhabitants are hostile and some of them will help you along your way up by modifying the gear that you collect. They can increase the power of it, upgrade it to a unique variant, or gild it.

The Tower’s floors will change every few weeks, which gives you a limited window to master its current layout.

Seasonal Adventure Rewards and Progression:

A new progression system has been added to Minecraft Dungeons, allowing new cosmetic rewards to be unlocked, including capes, emotes, pets, flairs, and skins.

cloudyclimb-2.jpg

Adventure Points are gained through regular gameplay or by completing weekly challenges in the game. The more points you earn, the higher your Adventure Rank becomes, unlocking even greater rewards.

cloudyclimb-3.png

Accessing the Adventure Hub from The Camp allows you to see your current progress towards rewards and challenges. There is a free track of rewards that is available to all players, as well as a premium track that is available to those who purchase the Season 1 Adventure Pass.

  • With this release, you’ll discover and unlock 10 new achievements during your adventures!

Crystal Dynamics Working on More Marvel’s Avengers Disconnect & Crashing Fixes, More Perk Changes Planned

Crystal Dynamics recently held a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) wherein members of the dev team took turns answering questions about Marvel’s Avengers. One of the questions answered was regarding the Marvel’s Avengers disconnect and crashing issues players face, which is a major problem when going through raids and other late-game activities.

Unfortunately, join-in-progress still isn’t confirmed, though Crystal Dynamics confirmed that they are working on the crashes and disconnects so that they happen less often. Answering the questions are:

  • Brian Waggoner, Systems Designer
  • Alex Kende, Game Designer
  • Andy Wong, Sr. Community and Social Media Manager

While we got a rework when it comes to gear, perks and more, Crystal Dynamics isn’t done adjusting perks just yet.

Here are more info from the AMA that we deemed relevant:

You can read the rest of the AMA right here if you so wish.

In other Marvel’s Avengers news, a patch is set to be released sometime this week, which should hopefully fix the game crashing issues tied to beating the campaign. Once more info regarding the game is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. Don’t expect a dev stream this Friday or anytime this 2021, as Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that the devs are taking a much-needed holiday break after this week. amd will be back next year to give players news about the game.

Latest PS4 Jailbreak Method May Eventually Lead to PS5 Jailbreak

The PlayStation hacking scene made a massive stride today as a new USB exploit released for those who own a PS4 with firmware update 9.00, as big news as this is, it seems that this exploit may eventually lead to a PS5 jailbreak.

The news comes from long time scener @SpecterDev, who revealed that both chendochap & @Znullptr have managed to create a new jailbreak method for the PS4 via USB. For members of the hacking community, this may sound familiar as the PS3 was first exploited via USB. However, unlike the PS3, the PS4 jailbreak method does not allow custom firmware, at least at this point.

In short, what was once only available to a limited number of people is now openly accessible to almost everyone who has recently bought a PS4, but hasn’t updated to the latest 9.03 firmware. So you may be wondering what does this all mean? Well, it means more developers now have access to creating homebrews for the console, although suffice to say that this does open the platform to even more piracy. Can’t say we support the latter at all, but there are some great developers out there, such as Lance McDonald who has worked hard on creating an unofficial 60fps bloodborne update. illusion0001 has also made great progress at bringing a number of frames-per-second patches to the PS4, including Uncharted 4 (at the expense of resolution).

However, the bigger piece of news here seems to be that this very same Kernal exploit affects even the PS5, which may one day lead to a PS5 Jailbreak.

Seeing how the PS4 scene developers have been rather protected with exploit releases (this latest coming nearly at the end of the console life,) don’t expect to see a PS5 jailbreak anytime soon.

Official PS5 Console Covers and New DualSense Colors Revealed

Tired of the same white plates for your PS5? Want new DualSense color variants? Sony has you covered, as Sony has revealed a slew of official PS5 console covers, and even new DualSense colors that are set to be released next month!

Here are two new trailers released by Sony showcasing the PS5 console covers, which come in different colors that can replace the default white color that comes with the console.

Additionally, here are the new DualSense controller colors that joining the Cosmic Red and Midnight Black ones that are already out in the market. Say hello to Starlight Blue, Galactic Purple, and Nova Pink!

The covers are priced at $55 each, and are planned to be available in the following countries:

The Midnight Black and Cosmic Red PS5 console covers will become available starting in January 2022 at participating retailers in the following locations: USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, and the Philippines. The Nova Pink, Galactic Purple, and Starlight Blue PS5 console covers will also launch in these locations during the first half of 2022. We plan to launch the PS5 console covers in additional territories during the year, and we’ll announce those details as they become available.

Long anticipated and expected by PlayStation owners who have upgraded to a PS5, the console covers are the first official ones released by Sony following some third party ones developed by companies like Dbrand — who we last reported challenged Sony to sue them for producing these custom covers. Looks like the multimedia giant is finally ready to release their own official products in the market, as well as three new DualSense controllers that compliment the other console cover options.

The new PS5  console covers and DualSense controllers will be available starting January 2022.

COD Vanguard and Warzone Christmas Event “Festive Fervor” Announced, Here’s What’s Coming

If you’re looking for more things to do in Call of Duty: Vanguard and COD Warzone, then you’re in luck! Activision has today announced the COD Vanguard and Warzone Christmas event titled “Festive Fervor” and it’s bringing holiday cheer and kills into the franchise!

Players can expect new cosmetic bundles with a holiday theme to ’em, limited-time modes, events, rewards and more! Check out the trailer and info overview on what’s coming down the road before 2021 is done for Call of Duty fans below!

COD Vanguard and Warzone Christmas Event “Festive Fervor” Info:

Start Date: December 16 across Vanguard and Warzone Pacific following an update on Vanguard on December 15 at 9PM PT/Dec. 16 12MN ET/Dec. 16 1PM HKT. The update for Warzone Pacific will drop on December 16 at 9PM PT/Dec. 16 12MN ET/Dec. 16 1PM HKT.

Twelve Days of Deals on Classic Bundles. Starting on December 14, Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War Bundles will be available at a holiday discount for use in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Pacific.

– Sleigh in Style with New Vanguard Bundles. Four festive Bundles highlight new Store offerings as we rotate to 2022. Use these in both Vanguard and Warzone Pacific.

– Krampus Is Coming… For anyone who doesn’t play the objective in Vanguard, or whoever dares to find him on Caldera, prepare for his wrath….

– Elf Team Six, Reporting for Duty. Find these mischievous holiday helpers across Vanguard and Warzone Pacific and earn rewards.

– Vanguard Owners Get 10 Tier Skips, 10% Seasonal XP Boost, and More. Receive these gifts by purchasing and playing Vanguard before December 31. All owners will get these items starting on December 16, 2021.

– The Main Event: Complete Festive Fervor Challenges, Get Rewarded. Thirteen total items, including a Weapon Blueprint for completing all six Vanguard or Warzone Pacific challenges.

Vanguard Multiplayer & Zombies Christmas/Festive Fervor Info:

Armageddon Mode

Also known as Drop Zone in previous Call of Duty titles, this twist on Team Deathmatch brings enough Killstreak Care Packages to stuff a whole chimney.

At the start of a match, both teams will fight for control of a marked area somewhere on the map, where Care Packages will drop in on a set timer until a specific number of them are collected. At that point, the zone rotates to a new area.

Unlike previous iterations of Drop Zone, points are only scored through kills, with bonus points being awarded with kills earned via Killstreaks. That makes ripping open those presents your squad’s main key to victory, so lock down those zones and start reaping those rewards.

Elf Team Six

Outside of that limited-time mode, Operators can also earn Killstreaks through seeking and destroying the elite Elf Team Six.

Hidden around Vanguard’s Multiplayer maps, Elf Team Six are ready to roast Operators like chestnuts on an open fire if they aren’t found before they disappear.

Operators who take down these Elf Team Six members will earn match score and Killstreak progress, a small gift that could help give your enemies something far worse than coal in their stockings.

Krampus

While Elf Team Six can help the nice Operators achieve victory, there is something else in store for the ones who act naughty and don’t play the objective in respawn-enabled game modes, or who camp in Team Deathmatch:

The folk horror figure Krampus is coming to Vanguard, appearing during Multiplayer matches and targeting whoever has the least impressive objective score, such as a pathetic Hardpoint time or a disgracefully low number of Domination captures.

If you’re warned of Krampus’s presence, then good luck: he won’t hesitate to eliminate his target with an absolutely devastating (and humiliating) Finishing Move, although you might be able to defeat him before he delivers that powerful attack…

Multiplayer and Zombies Get Festive for the Holidays

Festive Fervor also rolls out to decorate Vanguard for the holiday season.

During Festive Fervor, Shipment becomes Shipmas, a winter wonderland of chaos blanketed in snow and, by the end of the match, whatever remains of those soon-to-be-smashed shipping containers.

Expect some subtle seasonal visuals in game modes like Domination and Hardpoint, as well as more holiday overhauls to places like the Gunbench and the wintery home base of Stalingrad in Zombies’ “Der Anfang.”

Free Tier Skips for Vanguard Owners (and Those Who Buy It Before Dec. 31):

In the spirit of Festive Fervor, those who already own Vanguard — or purchase it before December 31 — will receive the following rewards, available for use starting on December 16:

– 10 Battle Pass Tier Skips for Season One. These are enough to automatically unlock a free Calling Card and 100 COD Points, or even more rewards if the Season One Battle Pass is purchased. Combine it with a Battle Pass Bundle, and you can get over 30 Tiers of content, which contains over 40 items across Vanguard and Warzone, right at the beginning of the season.

– A 10% Global Player, Weapon, and Battle Pass XP Boost During Season One. Earn that next Prestige Icon, weapon attachment, or Battle Pass Tier just a bit quicker with this XP Boost. Expert tip: the 10% XP boost for playing with a Clan, as well as the boosts from the Battle Pass and other sources, stacks with this reward!

– The 24 Vanguard Tiers of the Season Six Battle Pass. If you haven’t already earned them last season, anyone who purchases Vanguard will receive these for free.

Vanguard Multiplayer Festive Fervor Challenge — Details and Rewards

In Vanguard, the Festive Fervor Challenges include eliminating some of those holiday nuisances across all Multiplayer modes, playing Shipmas, or simply getting in the spirit of the season and opening Care Packages like presents under the tree.

Your rewards for doing so include a Battle Pass Tier Skip, a Double XP Token, and cosmetic rewards for your weapons and player profile.

Warzone Pacific: Season’s Greetings from the Isles — Holiday Surprises Across Caldera, Rebirth Island

Caldera Receives Festive Fir Trees with Presents for All!

Those who drop into Caldera during Festive Fervor can’t miss the invasive vegetation among the palm trees and other Pacific foliage: Festive Fir Trees!

Marked on the Tac Map with a special tree icon, these temporary landmarks will be placed at specific points of interest across the island.

Any squad that stays within the Fir Tree’s zone — under the tree and around it — for a short period of time will cause several Supply Boxes to magically appear, including special Holiday Crates that could contain Legendary items for that match, limited-time rewards, or even some coal for those Operators on the naughty list.

Krampus — The Terror of the Isles with Plenty of “Gifts” for Festive Fervor

Beyond being a sign to do some good this holiday season, the coal found in those Holiday Crates does attract a certain folklore creature.

Krampus tends to spend his holidays on Caldera and Rebirth Island, where within minutes of a match starting, he goes on the hunt for sport. While his choice of target is more random here than in Vanguard, he does tend to hunt down those who received coal from the Holiday Crates.

This mythical creature will take three minutes to complete his hunt before he disappears for his next target, or he’ll be killed and give out a special permanent reward for the squad that faces his wrath.

Because these islands are his usual stomping grounds, Krampus has some other surprises in store throughout Festive Fervor. Fortunately, all of these are relatively nice — expect modifiers like increased chances of Legendary Supply Boxes or half-off Buybacks on each day of this holiday event.

Elf and Seek — The Gnomes Take Over the Islands

Just like Krampus, some mischievous creatures also call Caldera and Rebirth Island their home and are waiting for Operators to seek them.

These gnomes are just as carefree as Elf Team Six, hollering at any Operator who gets within 10 meters of them. Squads who find and destroy them will receive rewards like a Double XP Token or a Calling Card.

Vanguard’s Festive Fervor Event and Bundles Available in Warzone

Those who want to earn Festive Fervor’s ultimate Epic LMG Blueprint can alternatively complete six unique challenges in Warzone Pacific, each with a reward like a Battle Pass Tier Skip, Double XP Token, and more.

These challenges include dealing 365 points of damage to Krampus, destroying those pesky gnomes, or simply playing the game and roaming around Caldera or Rebirth Island.

In addition to this limited-time Vanguard event, all its Bundles are also available in Warzone Pacific, making it possible to dash through the sand as a Krampus lookalike or in that festive holiday sweater. (Note: There are some Vanguard-only items within these Bundles that cannot be accessed in Warzone Pacific; see the individual Bundles for details).

For the holiday stuff headed to Black Ops Cold War, and the new cosmetic bundles incoming, head on over here.

Once the patch is out for both Vanguard and Warzone Pacific, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. Check out all our Call of Duty articles here in our game hub page.
