Payday 2 New Content “City of Gold” Teased With New Trailer

Released way back in 2013, it looks like Payday 2 is getting new content soon! Overkill Software has released a new trailer for Payday 2, and it’s titled “City of Gold.”

Check out the new trailer below, where it seems Asia will be tied into the game somehow (though I hope not in a cliche way).

The port of San Francisco brings in a wide variety of merchandise from Asia and elsewhere, and some of it is of the more shady kind. Who knows what secrets can be uncovered in the city of gold?

Once we know more about this upcoming expansion, DLC, or whatever Overkill Software calls it, we’ll let our readers know.

Overwatch 2 Is Getting New York City and Rome Maps

Get ready to battle in new locations and arenas in the world of Overwatch 2, as Blizzard has revealed that their upcoming team-based first-person shooter sequel Overwatch 2 is getting two new maps to its name — namely the famous locations of New York City and Rome!

As revealed in this year’s BlizzCon 2021 online panel presentation for the game, prepare to battle in some of the most recognizable cities in the world, as the Big Apple and the place built by the Roman Empire become the new battle arenas for fans and gamers who are absolutely excited to play the follow-up to one of the games of the year for 2016.

Check out the trailer showcase for New York City, which features familiar locations like Grand Central station given the OverWatch world treatment.

And of course when in Rome… You need to convert it into a fitting battlefield for the numerous fighters who shoot it out in the world of Overwatch.

As one of the developers described about the Rome map in particular.

“It’s one of the most beautiful pieces of environment art that I think we have made for the entire game and it absolutely took my breath away.”

That’s saying a lot, and we can’t wait to see more about Overwatch 2 and learn its release date — But it definitely won’t be out this year according to Blizzard.

Fortnite Street Fighter Crossover Trailer and Emotes Leaked (Update)

Fortnite is no stranger to crossovers with movies, TV and other gaming properties, and it looks like gamers will soon see Capcom’s Street Fighter enter the world of Epic Game’s battle royale, as the Fortnite Street Fighter crossover trailer and emotes have seemingly made their way out into the wild!

For now, it looks like the event will feature Ryu and Chun-Li, which means we’ll get both character skins available in Fortnite! Check out the trailer where we see an old school Street Fighter II arcade cabinet feature a Fortnite cameo for a double KO!

https://twitter.com/ItzBake/status/1362829675752398850

Not only that, but we even got leaked footage of Ryu and Chun-Li’s emotes!

https://twitter.com/BossJay08/status/1362825992679514112

Mind, given this is a leak, there is a chance that this could all be fake stuff. That said, it does look legit and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was. Perhaps this is coming very soon, hence why the game files are out there? It’s not part of the v15.40 patch datamine that we posted, though so there’s that.

Once we get more info regarding this potential crossover, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Update:

It looks like it’s official, as the trailer is now up on YouTube!

Saudi Arabia Has Invested $3.3 Billion in Activision, EA, and Take-Two

It looks like the royalty line of Saudi Arabia is seriously setting his sights in the video game industry, as Bloomberg has reported that Mohammad bin Salman, aka the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia himself, has invested $3.3 Billion on three major video game publishers — namely Activision, EA, and Take-Two.

In a recent SEC Filing, the Saudi Arabia sovereign wealth fund has pushed to invest on the companies under Prince Mohammad’s leadership. The Prince — who grew up playing video games and is very interested in diving into the world, already made a play via one of his subsidiaries to invest one-third stake in SNK Corporation. SNK is the Japanese video game developer and publisher responsible for the creation of The King of Fighters and Samurai Showdown fighting game series, so Mohammad’s acquisition of some shares of the company is definitely a worthwhile investment.

Now Prince Mohammad turns his sights to Activision, EA, and Take-Two, with the former company responsible for creating his favorite video game franchise in the Call of Duty franchise.

The sovereign wealth fund, also known as PIF, is chaired by Prince Mohammed, who told Bloomberg Businessweek in 2016 that he was part of the first Saudi generation to grow up playing video games. The crown prince credited video games with sparking ingenuity in the Bloomberg Businessweek profile, while telling the New Yorker in 2018 that his favorite diversion is Call of Duty series, Activision’s best-selling franchise.

Speaking about Call of Duty, Activision has stated that over 250 million people played the game last year alone.

Destiny 2 Iron Banner Schedule for February 2021 Announced & Starts Next Week, Known Issues Listed

Guardians, hone your skills, as Lord Saladin is back next week! Bungie has announced the Destiny 2 Iron Banner schedule for February 2021, and it starts next week! In addition to that, the known issues in the game has been listed too.

The Destiny 2 Iron Banner schedule for February 2021 is as follows:

Start: February 23, 9 a.m. PST

Ends: March 2, 9 a.m. PST

This is the first Iron Banner for Season of the Chosen, and the Iron Bounties will grant pinnacle drops. For this season, players will see The Time-Worn Spire and Multimach CCX returning from the first year of Destiny 2, and these weapons will have random rolls for the first time.

There’s also going to be a new perk called “Iron Reach” that can roll on these two weapons. Iron Reach will massively increase range with decreased stability as the tradeoff. The Iron Will armor set will also return, which will be updated to accept new Combat Style mods.

Once the Iron Bounties are live, we’ll be sure to let our readers know about it ASAP same as before.

In addition to that, Bungie has also listed some of the new known issues with the game, and the studio has confirmed they are investigating an issue causing the Pinnacle reward for Presage to drop as a Powerful reward instead. This will be fixed in a future update according to the studio.

For mislabeled Exotic ornaments and other issues, head on below.

MISLABELLED EXOTIC ORNAMENTS

Last week, the following Exotic ornaments were removed from the Eververse store due to an issue causing them to display the incorrect Exotic armor piece that they apply to:
    • The Titan Fourteenth Anamnesis ornament for the Helm of Saint-14.
    • The Warlock Caduceus ornament for Ophidian Aspect.
    • The Hunter Mantle of Remembrance ornament for Shinobu’s Vow.
We are currently working on providing Silver refunds to players who purchased these ornaments in Season of the Chosen and were affected by the issue. We will provide more information when it becomes available.

BRIGHT DUST CHALLENGE REWARDS

We are currently investigating an issue resulting in some players to not receive their Bright Dust rewards from completing the Weekly Challenges for Gambit, Crucible, and Vanguard. Players affected by this issue will be granted the Bright Dust they should have earned in a future update.

KNOWN ISSUES

While we continue investigating various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #Help Forum:
  • Several new items are missing Lore tabs.
  • Players may experience crashes in the Jetsam of Saturn, Archer’s Line, and EDZ Outskirts.
  • The Chosen Destruction Focused Umbral Engrams cannot be used to focus Umbral Engrams once completed.
  • The Anti-Barrier Scout Rifle mod behaves inconsistently with certain scout rifles.
  • Player benefiting modifiers in the Battlegrounds playlist are not granting correct bonuses.
  • Ticuu’s Divination catalyst quest does not progress with explosion kills from the weapon.
  • There is no indication of the weekly challenge available at the H.E.L.M.
  • Players may receive an Online Privileges pop-up if they attempt to load into Battleground: Hailstone with a fireteam member who has not yet completed the Beyond Light introductory mission.
  • Players are only able to reset their Valor and Infamy ranks a limited number of times.
  • The Good Company gilded Triumph may not count progress if players are killed.
  • The door in the Hollowed Lair strike sometimes doesn’t open, resulting in players having to abort the strike.

We might be getting a new patch next week before the Iron Banner starts, as we should have gotten one this week per Bungie’s previous announcement.

Once the Iron Banner and new patch are live, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

BlizzCon 2021 Info Leaks, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Rerelease, Shadowlands Patch, and More Revealed

It appears the cat is out of the bag too early for the number of surprises Blizzard intended to announce in their annual Blizzcon event, as World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade is getting a rerelease, A Shadowlands: Chains of Domination patch, and other info leaked online ahead for Blizzcon 2021.

According to a report by Wowhead, these details were accidently released via press kits released by Blizzard for their Blizzcon Online

Here’s the details for Shadowlands: Chains of Domination:

The traitorous Sire Denathrius has been defeated . . . but the power of the Maw still grows. In Chains of Domination™, the upcoming first major content update for World of Warcraft®: Shadowlands, players will delve into new depths of the Jailer’s hopeless domain, seeking to understand the true nature of his malignant plans. Backed by the renewed might of the four Covenants, the champions of the Horde and the Alliance will take the fight for the Shadowlands to the seat of the Jailer’s power. But the Banished One has a terrible new champion in his service—a cruel instrument of despair conscripted by Sylvanas Windrunner, capable of instilling dread into the hearts of Azeroth’s heroes like no creature of the Shadowlands.

  • Discover the Mysteries of Korthia – The Jailer is searching for the key to fulfill his twisted designs—and he has pulled a fragment of a long-lost domain into the Maw itself to find it. Seek answers in ancient Korthia, the City of Secrets, and engage in new quests and outdoor activities.
  • The Covenants Strike Back – With the strength of the kyrian, night fae, necrolords, and venthyr restored, embark on a campaign to unite the four covenants—and together, launch an assault against the Jailer in his home territory.
  • Raid the Sanctum of Domination – Brave treacherous, unexplored reaches of Torghast in a new 10-boss raid: the Sanctum of Domination. Encounter the true Eye of the Jailer, turn the tide against the Tarragrue, and come face-to-face with the Banshee Queen herself in a fateful confrontation.
  • New Mega-dungeon – Tazavesh, the Veiled Market—Gather your party and discover exotic wares and strange creatures in an eight-boss Mythic mega-dungeon set in a bazaar of the mysterious Brokers, and culminating in a high-stakes heist to steal powerful artifacts from Azeroth.
  • And More – Gear up for Shadowlands Raid, Dungeon, and PvP Season 2, with a seasonal Mythic Keystone dungeon affix themed around the Jailer’s power; don new Covenant cosmetic armor sets that any class can wear; expand the powers of your Soulbinds and Conduits; add new mounts and pets to your menagerie; Unlock flying in the Covenants’ four domains; and much more.

And this is the info for the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade rerelease.

Journey through the Dark Portal once again in World of Warcraft®: Burning Crusade Classic™! Originally released in January 2007, The Burning Crusade summoned the heroes of Azeroth to the shattered and fel-scarred realm of Outland to stop an invasion of the demonic Burning Legion. In 2021, Blizzard Entertainment’s recreation of the first World of Warcraft expansion will give players from around the world a chance to return to Outland as it once was to relive an era of timeless adventure—or experience what awaits beyond the Dark Portal for the first time.

  • Rediscover the Broken World of Outland – Flee the fel reavers who roam Hellfire Peninsula, dive deep beneath the swamps of Zangarmarsh to confront what lurks below, and clash with the demonic agents of the Burning Legion in the shadow of the Black Temple.
  • Join the Fight as a Blood Elf or Draenei – The ranks of the Horde and the Alliance grow! Fight for the Horde as the blood elves, seeking a new source of the arcane power that once sustained them, or join the Alliance as the draenei, exiles from Outland in search of a new home.
  • The Saga Unfolds Over Time – Content from the original game will roll out in phases, at a cadence paced for the WoW Classic community. Prepare for the opening of the Black Temple, gear up to confront the gods of Zul’Aman, and gather your allies to face the fury of the Sunwell.
  • Burning Crusade Features Reborn – Prove your prowess in the Arena PvP system, enhance your gear with the Jewelcrafting profession, take to the skies over Outland on flying mounts, choose whether to seek the aid of the Aldor or the Scryers of Shattrath, and much more.
  • Choose Your Era – Prior to Burning Crusade Classic’s release, WoW Classic players can decide whether to advance each of their characters to the Burning Crusade era with the rest of their realm, or to continue playing the original WoW Classic content on new Classic Era servers.
  • Included With Existing World of Warcraft Subscriptions – As with WoW Classic, anyone who subscribes to World of Warcraft can also play Burning Crusade Classic at no additional cost, giving players the freedom to enjoy multiple eras of Azeroth at their own pace.

It’s also rumored that we’ll be getting more info about a Diablo 2 remake called Diablo 2 Resurrected — which we reported about last year, and Overwatch 2, but we’ll just have to wait and see what Blizzcon confirms.

Blizzcon will run from February 19-21 online. Check out the schedule here.

Nvidia Puts Mining Limit on GeForce RTX 3060 GPUs, Announces New Cryptocurrency Processor

Taking a stance for gamers, Nvidia has announced that their upcoming RTX 3060 GPU card will have a hash limit in order to deter crypto miners to their new, dedicated for mining line of processors.

The news comes from a new blog post on the official Nvidia website, where the company states that the Geforce GPU are specifically designed for gaming.

We are gamers, through and through. We obsess about new gaming features, new architectures, new games and tech. We designed GeForce GPUs for gamers, and gamers are clamoring for more.

Yet NVIDIA GPUs are programmable. And users are constantly discovering new applications for them, from weather simulation and gene sequencing to deep learning and robotics. Mining cryptocurrency is one of them.

With the launch of GeForce RTX 3060 on Feb. 25, we’re taking an important step to help ensure GeForce GPUs end up in the hands of gamers.

By using a newly designed driver, RTX 3060 mining will limit hash rates by 50% when they have detected any crypto algorithm. While certainly good news, especially for gamers, this being the PC market there will no doubt be ways to around this limit.

However, in order to help satisfy the needs of miners, Nvidia will now be releasing the NVIDIA CMP, a Cryptocurrency Mining Processor designed for professional mining.

CMP products — which don’t do graphics — are sold through authorized partners and optimized for the best mining performance and efficiency. They don’t meet the specifications required of a GeForce GPU and, thus, don’t impact the availability of GeForce GPUs to gamers.

For instance, CMP lacks display outputs, enabling improved airflow while mining so they can be more densely packed. CMPs also have a lower peak core voltage and frequency, which improves mining power efficiency.

Creating tailored products for customers with specific needs delivers the best value for customers. With CMP, we can help miners build the most efficient data centers while preserving GeForce RTX GPUs for gamers.

The Nvidia CMP will be available for purchase from authorized retailer, though no release date has been given. Hopefully this helps ease the growing GPU demand due to crypto mining, though I guess well see how exactly well this works out next week when the GTX 3060 officially goes on sale.
