PlayStation Plus September Free Games Announced

Those with active PlayStation Plus memberships, Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus September free games, and they’re quite an amazing lot! Entering the program are: PUBG and Street Fighter 5!

PlayStation Plus September Free Games:

PUBG: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds:

Parachute into a treacherous battleground with only your wits for protection, as you loot gear and outsmart your enemies in a fierce battle royale. Build the ultimate soldier from scratch and test your mettle against up to 99 other players across multiple unique maps. Only one life. Only one shot at victory per match. Wreak havoc on your own or take on the challenge in a squad of up to four players to increase your chances of survival — and glory.

Street Fighter 5

New competitors and iconic world warriors square off in Street Fighter V, Capcom’s blisteringly ferocious fighter and the latest entry in the legendary Street Fighter series! Sharpen your skills in a variety of single player modes, then prove you’ve got what it takes to best the globe’s finest fighters in online matches!

Both games will be available starting this coming Tuesday, September 1 until October 5.  The August PS Plus free games are still available for download, so make sure you check them out.

These two are amazing choices, I have to admit. Both games are being supported heavily still, with PUBG just getting Season 8 on consoles, and Street Fighter 5 about to get new faces into the roster.

New Rogue Company Update 1.28 August 26 Fires Out

Developer First Watch Games has released what it calls a hotfix for Rogue Company and it’s live now! Console gamers will see this as the new Rogue Company update 1.28 August 26 patch, and this includes gameplay-related changes such as cancelling a cooked grenade won’t get you cooked yourself (heh!) and more.

New Rogue Company Update 1.28 August 26 patch notes:

Rogues! We’ve applied a hotfix this morning to address a number of outstanding issues the community reported after the Vice update. This is not an exhaustive list and we assure you there are plenty more bugs the team is still working on. These represent what we felt were most egregious and could be fixed immediately without risk to game stability.

  • The Shooting Range is now available

  • Fixed an issue where settings would not save between matches

  • The first time you receive a friend request, their name should now appear in the request

  • Epic friends should no longer show offline when they are online

  • Players should no longer stuck in the Chimera during Strikeout mode

  • The Unflappable award for finishing the Tutorial should no longer reset when you leave the game

  • Pistol upgrades purchased in the Store should no longer be removed at the beginning of each round

  • When cancelling a cooked grenade, it should no longer explode anyway

  • The top bar should no longer show teammates on the enemy side or vice versa

As the developer has mentioned, there are more issues that are left to be handled, though they focused on the most important ones first.

Don’t forget to check out our impressions of the game in early access right here.

SMITE Update 11.53 August 26 Released on PS4 for Fixes

While SMITE gods and godesses just got the Bonus Update for SMITE’s God of the Moon patch released earlier this month, it seems Hi-Rez Studios has released the SMITE update 11.53 August 26 patch for the PS4 today, and it’s live now.

SMITE Update 11.53 August 26 patch notes:

According to the official SMITE Trello board, this is for the “Missing voice and sounds fx for gods and skins.”

The official SMITE Twitter account shared as much as well:

We are investigating the audio issues some PS4 players are experiencing. We will let you know when this has been resolved.

Note that the tweet touching on the audio issues was tweeted yesterday, hence why it hasn’t said it’s resolved just yet.

Chances are, this won’t include any gameplay-related changes. But if it does, let us know down below in the comments. We’ll also keep an eye out and update the post if we spot anything.

Once we get more details regarding the next event/content drop, we’ll let our readers know.

PSN Down August 26 Reports Flooding In, Players Not Being Able to Access Library

It seems PSN down August 26 reports are flooding the official PS4 subreddit currently. While some have attributed this to the latest firmware update rolled out today (version 7.55), some players have reported that even after downloading and installing the update, their system still can’t access the PlayStation Network.

PSN Down August 26 reports and game library being inaccessible:

Check out the multiple threads flooding the subreddit:

Is PSN down?
byu/Astellarn123 inPS4

Ps4 servers
by inPS4

Are servers under maintenance?
byu/Gh0stToast inPS4

In addition to that, some have reported that they’re having issues accessing their game library too! Not sure about other gamers, but this is the first time I’ve heard of a network downtime affecting a system’s library.

Can’t access any of my games. Trying to restore licenses results in error.
by inPS4

Is anyone else’s ps4 digital games locked and keeps getting errors?
byu/Kieraon inPS4

Who else is gonna wait till morning to un-pause the 7.55 update???
byu/BCkay23 inPS4

Is PSN down?
byu/Astellarn123 inPS4

There are loads more reports coming in, and it looks like the PSN down reports depends on which area of the globe you’re in, as some from the UK and Asia have reported that it’s working for them. Currently, there’s no fix for the library issue, and the official AskPlayStation Twitter hasn’t touched on anything. But we’ve contacted Sony to ask what’s going down, and will update the post if we get a response back.

PS4 Update 7.55 Released and Brings What People Expect

Heads up! Sony has released the PS4 update 7.55! Same as with other unannounced system firmware updates, this one adds more of what people expect, which is notably nothing that’s noticeable on the front end.

PS4 Update 7.55 changelog:

Main features in version 7.55 update

  • This system software update improves system performance

Note that this doesn’t seem to be a mandatory download, and you won’t be kicked out of any online sessions if you’re in one just to download this. Speaking of firmware updates, the big 8.00 software update is now in closed beta testing! It’s mostly about party chat and related changes, which you can read about here.

If you notice any front-facing changes in today’s PS4 firmware 7.55 update, let us know down below in the comments or send us an email.

In more gaming-related news, a gameplay demo of Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart will be shown later today! Details on that, here. There might also be a PlayStation Store sale today, and if so, we’ll be sure to list down the discounted titles.

Black Desert Online Update 1.51 August 26 Brings a Dream Horse and More

Pearl Abyss has not only put the Black Desert Online servers on maintenance today, but the studio has also released a rather hefty update! The Black Desert Online update 1.51 August 26 patch is now out on PS4, and Xbox One, and it includes character changes, a new area and more

Black Desert Online Update 1.51 August 26 patch notes:

[Hashashin Awakening]

Tapping into the powers of Hadum, the Hashashin awakens. Although many would be consumed by the dark god’s powers, the Hashashin’s faith in Aal makes him impervious to those dark urges, allowing him to wield the powers of both Aal and Ibedor, the serpent’s shadow. Find out more about how the Hashashin overcame and eventually consumed these powers in the GM Note: LINKTOGMNOTE

To awaken your Hashashin, you must first reach level 56. Once you are level 56, talk to the Black Spirit in order to pick up the quest ‘NAMEOFQUESTHEREFAM’.

[Dream Horse – Arduanatt]

A whisper among horse trainers around the world speak of a horse with such grace that it seems to literally walk on air. Others speak of a legendary horse with wings, that can take flight with elegance and grace. Those stories seem to be true as the Arduanatt dream horse can now be obtained in game.

In order to attempt the transformation of a horse into the legendary Arduanatt, you will first need to obtain a Tier 8 courser at level 30. You will then need to use materials in order to train certain characteristics in the horse, and when it has 200% training in a characteristic, enhancement can take place.

Dream Horses can learn skills that no other horse can dream to obtain. The following skills are exclusive to Dream Horses.

Skill Name Skill Effect
Courser’s Spirit Automatically recovers a certain amount of HP and Stamina while parked
Double Jump Allows the horse to jump once more after jumping.
S: Charge Allows a second Charge after using Charge.

Arduanatt will also learn the following skills unique to this type of dream horse:

Skill Name Skill Effect
Wings of Freedom Allows Arduanatt to turn left and right during Wings of Wind.
Wings of Wind Available to be used after double jump. Allows Arduanatt to glide gracefully through the air, and upon landing will receive no fall damage.

To find out more about Arduanatt and how to obtain one, check out the GM Notes here: ARDUGMLINK

With the discovery of dream horses, we will also be adding Celerity Draughts and Unbridled Celerity Draughts, which have the following effect:

-Mount EXP+15%, Training EXP+20%, Sailing EXP +20%, and Movement Speed +3

Celerity Draughts last for 180 minutes, and the Unbridled Celerity Draughts last for 360 minutes!

[Arena of Arsha]

With this update, we are bringing the Arena of Arsha to Black Desert. This mode allows Guild Leaders to create tournaments, and recruit the brightest and best fighters to compete in a structured combat setting. The Arena of Arsha allows the organizers of tournaments access to certain rule sets such as 1v1, 3v3 and more! You can find out more in the GM Note available here:

[Trial Characters]

Unlike your standard characters, Trial Characters will start at level 60 with 4000 skill points, and will be spawned in the Battle Arena. These characters are intended to try out different classes and improve your current skills in a PvP setting, and as such they will be able to fight in the Battle Arena, Red Battlefield and the Arena of Arsha.

When you create your Trial Character, you will start off in the Battle Arena, and the following items will be waiting for you in your inventory:

● Inventory +16 Expansion Coupon x3

● Basic main weapon and Sub-Weapon (Awakening weapons can be purchased from Haz)

● [Battlefield] Body Enhancement

● ‘Awakening Secret’ skill book (use to access Awakening Weapons)

To make actual use of your trial character in a PvP setting, you’re going to need gear. Trial Characters have access to the NPC Haz, who sells a wide variety of weapons and accessories for trial characters to equip and use. Although this gear cannot be enhanced, the quality of the weapons is exceptionally high, and as such you will be competitive in modes such as Red Battlefield.

All the items that Haz sells are available to purchase for 1 silver, which also includes buff items such as Cron Meals, Perfume of Courage and more!

Please note that Hashashin is currently unable to be used as a Trial Character.

[Black Spirit’s Safe]

The Black Spirit’s Safe function has been added to the game. This function allows certain rewards to be stored with the Black Spirit, making it easier to collect multiple rewards at the same time. The following rewards will be sent to the Black Spirit’s Safe:

Daily Fame Fund, Red Battlefield Rewards, Attendance Rewards, certain Combat and Life Skill rewards.

[Horse Gear]

Stonetail Horse Ranch is at the cutting edge of horse technology, and after working with Kamasylvian blacksmiths they have been able to create a new breed of horse equipment. The Granverre horse set is a set of blue grade gear that can be put on Camels and Horses and can be enhanced to further increase their effectiveness!

In order to craft this gear, you will need to have Stonetail Horse Ranch House 3, purchasing the Horse Gear Workshop and upgrade it to its maximum level to begin the crafting process.

But the research doesn’t end there. Miniature Elephants are also receiving some upgraded gear. The Muzika gear set is now available for Miniature Elephants, and these items need to be crafted at the Stonetail Horse Ranch House 3 Horse Gear Workshop.

This update includes a round of balancing for Hashashin, and some changes to a few other classes.

● Dream of Doom: You can no longer hold X/■ to cast Crow Flare immediately after releasing Dream of Doom. You will now have to enter the command again.

● Fixed an issue where Heilang would move strangely after using a Roaring skill while it is on cooldown while the ‘Heilang: Berserk’ buff was in effect.

● Fixed an issue where the icon for Ultimate: Blitz Stab appeared as if it were an icon for a Black Spirit’s Rage skill.

[Hashashin]

● Ultimate: Sand Warp – Description of the skill has been changed to match the actual effect.

● Black Spirit: Absolute: Descent – Description of the skill has been changed to match the actual effect.

Previous: Knockdown on good hits

New: Knockdown on good last hit.

● Sand Warp – The skill animation and effects have been improved to link closer together.

● Black Spirit: Quicksand I~V, Black Spirit: Absolute: Quicksand – increased the PvP damage of the skill by about 20%.

● Sand Warp – Improved the skill preview of the skill.

● Fixed and issue where the Rupture skill was activated when using the below skills as a combo after Shadow Splitter.

-Haladie Throw

-Piercing Tornado

-Ridge Reaver

● Black Spirit: Descent I~V, Black Spirit: Absolute: Descent – Reduced the PvP damage of the skill by around 20%.

● Fixed an issue where when switching from combat to non-combat stances would cause the weapons to appear abnormally.

● Purge I~VI, Absolute Purge – Fixed an issue where the float in the skill was not applied at a certain distance.

[Item Changes]

● Certain functional outfit boxes (I,e Canape) have had their descriptions improved to include the effect sets cannot be shared with other outfits.

● Cleaned up the text of pets so that phrases do not overlap with each other.

● The Archaeologist’s Map has been improved so that the return function can be used even when changing or switching characters.

● Changed the description of ‘Rich Merchant’s Ring’ and ‘Old Moon Trade Pass’ to include the fact these items do not affect Pearl Shop Items sold on the Central Market.

For those who complete the Calpheon quests ‘The Ritual’ and ‘[Boss] Witch-Hunting’ after this update will receive a larger amount of EXP than before.

We have also fixed the issue where the Tuvula Awakening Weapon box was incorrectly given as an award for completing awakening quests. For those who received these rewards, we will be deleting the item and sending you 100,000 silver to your mailbox after the update. The 100,000 silver is the amount of silver that you would receive if you sold the weapon.

For those who have already deleted the Tuvula Weapon box, you will still receive the 100,000 silver in your mail.

New Star Wars Battlefront 2 Update 1.55 August 26 Released for Hero Tweaks

If you thought Star Wars Battlefront 2 would never get patched again, you’re so wrong. DICE has released the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 update 1.55 August 26 patch and this is to roll out fixes for several issues that’s affecting heroes. This is a small patch and is estimated to be 500MB on PS4, 900MB on Xbox One, and 500-700MB on PC.

Head no below for hte full patch notes and note from DICE!

New Star Wars Battlefront 2 Update 1.55 August 26 patch notes:

Hello there,

We have a small patch for STAR WARS™ Battlefront II arriving this Wednesday. The focus on this patch is a small number of fixes for several issues that are affecting heroes.

Most notably of which, is the issue where it was possible to build up Darth Vader’s damage reduction traits. A fix has also been implemented which will stop General Grievous’ Claw Rush ability hitting more than expected within a short space of time. We have also fixed an issue that would cause Darth Maul to become unable to block, after performing a Spin Attack.

Stay safe, be excellent to each other, and we’ll see you on the battlefront.

May the Force be with you, always.

The Star Wars Battlefront II Team

Release Notes:

  • Fixed an issue that would allow players to build up Darth Vader’s damage reduction traits.
  • Fixed an issue where General Grievous’ Claw Rush attack could hit opponents multiple times in a short time.
  • Fixed an issue where Darth Maul would not be able to block after performing Spin Attack while blocking.
  • Fixed an issue where inaccurate VFX would play around Boba Fett’s jetpack while he is ragdolled.
  • Fixed an issue where Boba Fett’s jetpack icon would not be greyed out while his abilities are blocked.
  • Updated in-game EA Access and Origin Access logos with EA Play logos.

Yep, that’s basically it. Then again, I suspect most weren’t expecting any patch at all to be released. This latest round of fixes should definitely be appreciated by the community.

Here’s When to Expect Marvel’s Avengers Reviews to Drop

Curious to find out what the critics will think of Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers come launch next week? Don’t expect any Marvel’s Avengers reviews to drop a week before release or even days before, as the servers will only be functional on September 1.

Avid Marvel fans may have spotted the blog post published by Crystal Dynamic earlier today, detailing expectations for the day one launch of Marvel’s Avengers. Amongst the news of a day one patch that is dropping, Crystal Dynamic also pointed out that servers would be going live on the first of September, which is the early launch of the title for those who pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition.

We also wanted to give you an update on when global servers will go live and you can start playing the game!

From the beginning, our overall vision for Marvel’s Avengers has always been one where players would assemble online to protect the Earth and battle the forces of AIM as a team. While the entire game can be played solo with companion AI, the game has been designed as a seamless online experience, where players would transition from the single-player campaign to joining with friends in co-op missions as part of the Avengers Initiative.

As a result, everyone will need to wait until the servers officially go live on September 1st to start playing. It is important for us that matchmaking servers are populated because co-op is a fully integrated part of the experience.

Given the obvious online nature of the game, we were reaffirmed by a Square Enix rep that since the servers won’t be live until September 1, any review copy or early physical copy (broken street date) will not be able to activate till the servers are live, given the game does require online activation in order to be playable.

What does this mean for Marvel’s Avengers reviews?

Well, for those hoping to catch some day one scores, you’ll need to wait a bit as the team wants the co-op portion of the title to be live, so that everyone can experience it properly. Seeing that the title is available on multiple platforms and the limited amount of reviewers that are out there, this makes complete sense as it may be hard to matchmake and play co-op if the servers are only live to only a handful of people.

What does this mean for the MP1st review of Marvel’s Avengers? We’ll most likely not have a day one review up, given we want to experience the game in its entirety, which means we want to be able to play co-op missions, level up our characters, obtain high tier loot and more, in an organic way (via actual play time). That said, expect guides from us to hit the site at launch or near it.

For those curious, we’ve given our impressions of the beta in its first week of availability. We’ve also listed down some of the stuff we want changed/fixed based on beta feedback.

Rumor: Black Ops Cold War Mini Map Back to Normal, Dead Silence Will Be a Perk & More

While we’ve already posted multiplayer details regarding Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War event before it was officially announced, it seems another round of info has surfaced! Apparently, the Black Ops Cold War mini map for multiplayer will once again show red dots, and what’s more, Dead Silence will once again be a perk!

Apparently, a multiplayer event took place, and some people have not been shy to talk about it. YouTuber SalvationElite posted a video talking about it, however, Activision’s legal team had it taken down. Here are the details thanks to reliable Call of Duty YouTuber and leaker TheGamingRevolution.

Black Ops Cold War:

  • Teams are CIA vs. Spetnaz
  • EKIA (enemy killed in action) returns
  • Play of the Game returns
  • Movement feels very similar to Black Ops 4, sliding feels about the same
  • Slide cancelling not as game breaking as MW
  • Slide jumping is a thing again
  • Technically to have 150 health, but time to kill (TTK) is somehwat faster than BO4 but significantly slower than MW
  • Very similar SBMM system from MW
  • Mini map is back to normal
  • DS (Dead Silence) is a perk again
  • Spawned in with a tactical, lethal and you had a field upgrade
  • Field Upgrade is still a thing  (Trophy system, Proximity Mine, EMP, Field Mic (affects footsteps sound in certain areas)
  • Stim Shot is back like Modern Warfare where it’s a tactical

Maps

A Miami set map

  • Large map set on thebeach of Miami/downtown Miami
  • A club/hotel/downtown Miami
  • Three lanes but very big (like bigger than Yemen or Aftermath in BO2)

A Desert map

  • Big and open. It looks a lot like the Battlefield 1 desert map
  • There are crates on the map where you could change your class or get ammo

  • A Ground War 12v12 map with three Warships that you have to travel between on zip lines (not sure if Ground War is the exact same as in MW or not)
  • No Specialists or abilities
  • Scorestreaks are back with a twist – Every kill you get there’s a multiplier for scorestreaks so it priortizes kills the longer you stay alive than playing the objective
  • A middle ground between killstreaks and scorestreaks

Scorestreaks that are confirmed

  • A UAV style streak called Spy Planes
  • A VTOL style streak
  • A Chopper Gunner style streak
  • A Cruise Missile
  • Napalm Strike (like a Lightning Strike)
  • Artillery
  • Flamethrower

Confirmed game modes:

  • HP (Hardpoint) an arrow shows where the next HP location is
  • Kill Confirmed
  • VIP – Get the VIP across the whole Ground War map to 2 of 2 extraction points (sounds like Safeguard from BO3)

Confirmed guns:

Assault Rifles – M16A2, AK5

SMG – SOIM821 (ike an UZI), MP5, AK74u

Not sure if AR or SMG – Type 63, Stoner 63, Type 15, Colt Commando

Sniper – M40

Attachments are very similar to BO4

Loadouts:

  • Hybrid of Pick 10 and MW system
  • You get 5 attachments on all weapons
  • 3 perks per loadout like Pick 10
  • They allow you to get even more attachments like Pick 10 systems of old
  • An attachment that allows you to fill all attachment slots on a gun

Bear in mind, the info above are all from a purported multiplayer event session and has not been confirmed or verified by Activision or anyone at Treyarch or Raven Software. That said, most, if not all, align with the previous multiplayer leaks, and the fact that Activision felt the need for the source video to be taken down kinda adds veracity to it.

Don’t forget, we’ll be getting our first official gameplay look at Black Ops Cold War tomorrow! Even before that though, the release date has seemingly leaked from datamined info, and it’s set for November 13.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the trailer and info here on MP1st!

NEW QUEST: HEART OF DEIMOS

Deimos emerges in Martian orbit, completely overrun by the Infestation… yet among the writhing mass, a distress call comes over a most ancient carrier wave.

A new Quest is available in your Codex, Tenno! The Prerequisite for ‘Heart of Deimos’ is completing the Earth to Mars Junction.

The “Heart of Deimos” Quest will introduce you to the newest Open World. Learn all about the denizens of THE CAMBION DRIFT, and the souls lurking in THE NECRALISK HUB!

If you buy Xaku with Platinum, you will receive a Riven Mod as a quest Reward in addition to the Xaku Blueprint.

OROKIN DERELICTS HAVE MOVED!
Orokin Derelict Nodes have found a new home orbiting Mars and no longer require Keys to play! All Keys in your Inventory or in-progress in the Foundry have had their Credit and Resource costs refunded, while Nav Coordinates can be sold for extra Credits (see below)! The Derelict node is now Deimos, along with two new nodes: The Cambion Drift and Necralisk!

This raises the question: What happens to players on the Steel Path? You get a unique Emote and Trophy for each region that you have completed, but if the Derelicts aren’t on the map how will you get these rewards?

The answer is: Now that Heart of Deimos has launched, finishing the Deimos region will give you BOTH the Deimos and Derelict rewards regardless of whether you have previously finished the Derelicts. This way everybody has a chance to finish their entire set, and thematically it respects both areas: the original Derelicts, and the new Deimos landscape.

NEW OPEN WORLD: CAMBION DRIFT

The Cambion Drift is a dense open world on Mars’ infested moon of DEIMOS that connects to the Necralisk, a new Hub (detailed below). Below this Open World you will find an Underground, the second layer. You can find puzzles and mysteries below, as well as Necramech encounters! The Cambion Drift will be made accessible in the Star Chart once you’ve completed the Heart of Deimos quest.

OPEN WORLD CYCLE: VOME VS. FASS

The Infested moon of Deimos is under a constant war between VOME and FASS. As you play, you’ll watch the feuding siblings reclaim dominance over Deimos and its denizens.

Vome – with her gentle watch.
Fass – with his spiteful anger.

When Vome wins the sibling battle and watches over the Cambion Drift, formidable Infested enemies will lay dormant and you may come across friendly Necramechs on your travels.
When Fass wins the sibling battle and watches over the Cambion Drift, those formidable Infested enemies will rise, and ruined Necramechs will lay silent throughout Cambion Drift. The more you play, the more you’ll discover about their watchful effects!

Beware, Tenno!

NEW HUB: NECRALISK
The Necralisk is a Void Research Facility home to the ENTRATI – who you will learn much more about as you play the ‘Heart of Deimos’ Quest. To keep these notes spoiler free, we will simply provide the types of NPC vendors available within the Necralisk! Full services and details can be discovered in game after completing the Heart of Deimos Quest.

You can always earn more Mother Tokens than your Daily Standing Cap allows, meaning you can accrue and redeem at times convenient for you! (Read on below to see Daily Standing Cap changes!)

Visit warframe.com/droptables for all your drop inquiries!

These 16 Necramech Mods are a mix of familiar Warframe Mods (Necramech Stretch, Necramech Intensify, Necramech Vitality, etc) as well as new Mod types specifically for the Necramech (Necramech Thrusters, Necramech Blitz, Necramech Refuel, etc).

NEW WEAPONRY: NECRAMECH WEAPON
Both the Cortege and Mausolon can also be used as Arch Guns!

CORTEGE
An ancient weapon designed by the Entrati for use by their Necramechs. Primary fire siphons life essence from the target to fuel a devastating Alt Fire. A heavy flamethrower with surprising range. Alt fire launches three projectiles in a fan pattern that explode, leaving a damaging area of effect for a short duration.

MAUSOLON (given with first built Necramech)
An ancient weapon designed by the Entrati for use by their Necramechs. Primary fire siphons life essence from the target to fuel a devastating Alt Fire. Punishing automatic primary fire and an alt more that charges up to unleash a destructive beam of energy with a large explosion at point of impact.

*As outlined in a recent Dev Workshop, all new weapons in the update are starting with a minimum Riven disposition of 0.5. This includes the new Archgun weapons, Mausolon and Cortege. Archgun Riven dispositions have not been rebalanced in the past, but they will be included in our quarterly changes going forward, starting with the next Prime Access!

CONSERVATION
VELOCIPOD – LIVING K-DRIVES
Scattered around the Cambion Drift are new passive creatures known as Velocipods. While they are flighty, if you manage to catch one and mount it you can pilot one like a temporary, organic K-Drive! You will be able to shoot from the back of a Velocipod, just like any other K-Drive! You can also choose to Conserve these creatures with the Tranq Rifle you acquired on your journey through Fortuna!

PREDASITE
These Solitary predators return to the same partners each mating season, meeting up in the Swamp. Other times of the year, they disperse across the Cambion Drift. There are three subspecies of Predasites you can encounter in the wild. These subspecies, when captured, can be “Revivificated” into companions at the Conservation Vendor in the Necralisk. Learn more about Predasite companion creation in the “New Infested Companions” section below.

VULPAPHYLA
These scavengers roam in small packs, picking at the remains that larger predators have left behind. There are three subspecies of Vulpaphyla you can encounter in the wild. These subspecies, when captured, can be “Revivificated” into companions at the Conservation Vendor in the Necralisk. Learn more about Vulpaphyla companion creation in the “New Infested Companions” section below.

AVICHAEA
This winged Cambion Drift creature can be found clinging to the walls in groups, or seen flying overhead. A patient approach is best, as they are quick to flee if startled. There are three subspecies of Avichaea you can encounter in the wild.

CRYPTILEX
These burrowing critters can occasionally be found near the Infested plants that grow from the fleshy landscape of the Cambion Drift. There are three subspecies of Cryptilex you can encounter in the wild.

*Each of these species have unique variants – find them all!

INFESTED FISHING
Fishing on an Infested planet has some new challenges! Fish can be found flying (yes, flying) around the Cambion Drift, and come in a variety of flavors. Some fish will only be present during the Fass and Vome cycles and have various rarities!

Bait: Each time Fass and Vome duel in the Cambion Drift, the losing Wyrm’s body will scatter the landscape with its own Residue. Both the Fass Residue and Vome Residue can be picked up and used as Bait for the Infested Fish, using the Fishing Menu! Like with previous fishing systems, drop the Reside into the “water” and wait for the Fish to appear.

See the list of Fish below to learn more about each of the Infested Fish of Deimos and how some Fish only react to certain Residue. Visit the Entrati Syndicate Fishing member within the Necralisk to master the art of Infested Fishing!

Once you have completed the Heart of Deimos Quest, a new vendor will be able to provide you with the Spari Spear, as well as provide a location to turn in Fish for fish parts. The Fish on Deimos are unique creatures, so make sure you have the right equipment!

CAVE FISH:

  • Duroid – A living fossil hearkening back to the Orokin era, this elusive fish hides below the surface of Exocrine pools in the deepest caverns it can find.
  • Aquapulmo – These fish were purposefully contaminated with the Infestation as an Entrati ‘experiment’. They feed off the organic deposits in cave systems.
  • Kymaeros – The Infestation has suborned these fish to its own purposes, using them as antibodies to repel the non-Infested. They swim through and above the Exocrine found on Deimos’ surface.
  • Chondricord – A triumph of Orokin bio-engineering, these hardy fish have adapted to the Deimos environment and seem oddly resistant to Infestation. They thrive in cave environments.
  • Vitreospina – Whatever higher functions this fish once had have been consumed, leaving it a mere automaton of metal and flesh. It ekes out a primitive existence in cave systems.
  • Barbisteo – As ravenous as the Infestation itself, this fish feeds on the remains of others. It shuns the light, preferring an enclosed cave environment.
  • Myxostomata – This exceptionally rare breed of fish is almost extinct, as its gilded Orokin flesh has a special savor for predators. It warily conceals itself in caves.

SURFACE FISH:

  • Ostimyr – Crammed with redundant, mutated internal organs, this pungent fish is highly sought after. It only emerges from surface pools in the light of the Wyrm Vome.
  • Cryptosuctus – Formerly Orokin scavengers, these fish succumbed to the Infestation long ago and now greedily feast on floating spores. They are found all over the surface of Deimos.
  • Glutinox – These hefty fish are cannibalistic. They rise by Vome’s light to absorb rare gases, retreating when Fass ascends to devour their smaller kin in their lairs.
  • Amniophysi – These fish hatch out of translucent pods formed in the Infested landscape itself. The radiance of Fass stirs them into activity.

NEW INFESTED RESOURCES
HARVESTING THE CAMBION DRIFT

The Cambion Drift has a whole collection of new Resources to earn as you explore and delve into the Heart of Deimos. Unlike the more “natural” Resources of the Plains of Eidolon or the Orb Vallis, the Cambion Drift is a living, breathing landscape with a whole collection of Infested goodies to gather! Visit the Mining Entrati Syndicate member to learn more!

Mining
GEMS

  • Faceted Tiametrite – Common
  • Purged Dagonic – Common
  • Purified Heciphron – Uncommon
  • Stellated Necrathene – Rare

NEW INFESTED COMPANIONS – REVIVIFICATION

The Cambion Drift is a hostile world. Even though several native species have adapted to surviving amongst the rampant Infestation, they still fall prey to it and its attacks. The Vulpaphyla and Predasite are no exception and are threatened by its vicious nature. You can save these Conservation creatures by wrangling them from the wild Infested landscape so that they may be treated at the Necralisk hub. There, you can assist in the administering of treatment and “Revivificate” them into Companions.

*Please note Infested Companion Imprints will come in another Update.

Here’s how it works:

1. Capture

First you must tranq and capture a Vulpaphyla or Presadite in a wounded state (creatures affected will have a certain glow to them after they have been wounded by the Infested). You must encounter these creatures while they are infected and tranq it before it loses its battle with the Infested. The captured Vulpaphyla or Presadite is then transported to the Necralisk.

Without intervention, these creatures are likely to succumb to the Infestation. Return to the Necralisk and speak to the Conversation Vendor to treat them with a mix of Mutagens and Antigens to heal it of its ailments.

2. Treat

Visit the Conservation Vendor and select “Vulpaphyla/Presadite Revivification” to get started in restoring the creature. There are three elements that will bring the creature to a restored state so that they may fight alongside you. The options available in these categories will determine the characteristics of your new Infested Companion:

  • Breed: The Wounded Vulpaphylas and Presadites you have saved will appear here for selection. The subspecies of the beast determines its physical appearance, base stats, and precepts.
  • Mutagen: Adapts the Infestation to grant certain types of resistances. Side effects of the  Mutagens include altering of the look of the tail.
  • Antigen: Attunes the Infestation to certain polarities (Vazarin, Naramon, Madurai, and Penjaga). Side effects of the Antigen include various physical alterations.

Mutagens and Antigens can be purchased from the Conservation Vendor in Necralisk.

3. Keep or Release

After you have successfully saved the creature, you have the option to either keep or release it. Keeping the creature will make it available as a trusty Companion, while releasing the creature will put it back into the wild for a Standing gain with the Entrati.

NEW GAMEPLAY SYSTEM: THE HELMINTH
REVIEW OUR FULL DEV WORKSHOP HERE: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1212921-the-helminth-dev-workshop

Customize your Warframe’s Abilities at a depth never experienced before in Warframe! Introducing THE HELMINTH.

The Helminth System is an expansion of the Helminth room on your Orbiter – you may only know this room as an infested space that allows you to remove the Helminth Cyst. With the ‘Heart of Deimos’ Update, that’s all changing. The Helminth system enables you to customize your Warframes by infusing new Abilities in place of existing Abilities.

Once you’ve unlocked The Helminth System, you can fast travel to the Helminth Infirmary under the Equipment pause menu!

Deep Dive:

How does it work?

To participate in the Helminth, you must obtain the ‘Helminth Segment’. This is acquired in the Heart of Deimos in the Entrati Syndicate Conservation member (once you are Rank 3 with Entrati)  and is then installed on your Orbiter in the Helminth Room to begin your Helminth journey!

Once ready, there are 2 key things this System offers:

– You can replace 1 Ability per Warframe.
– Every Warframe can be Subsumed to permanently provide 1 specific Ability to Helminth.

Who is this for?

We consider this a customization system for very experienced Warframe players (Mastery Rank 8 Prerequisite). We do not intend to let newer players unlock this system. We intentionally placed the Segment deep into progression to ensure only experience players could access the Segment and begin their journey with Helminth.

What are Resources / Secretions?

Virtually every  Resource you’ve ever earned can be fed to Helminth – your stockpiles have a new home! This Feeding creates SECRETIONS, which allow you to utilize the Helminth for Ability customization.

Helminth has a diverse appetite – make sure you feed Helminth Resources they want to eat to get the best Secretion results! Your choices on what you’ve fed Helminth will determine its willingness to reward secretions – change it up for best results!

Permanent?

Infused Abilities are removable with the press of a button – they will stay within a given Warframe as long as you decide you want it!

Subsuming a Warframe is permanent  – only Subsume Warframes you are sure you do not want to play with. You can always re-earn or re-buy a subsumed Warframe.

Do Configurations matter?

You can deeply customize by only replacing Abilities on certain Configurations, as seen in the Demo! But we would like to expand this further to demonstrate just how deep you can go.

You can have 1 different Ability infused PER config!

So if you have Excalibur in the chair – you could put Shock on Configuration A, Molt on Configuration B, and Firewalker on Configuration C!

For example, if you wanted Shock applied to Excalibur on Configuration A but wanted Configuration B and Configuration C to stay default with Slash Dash, you can do so!

What does Ranking Helminth do?

As you feed and use the Helminth system, you will rank up! Each Rank unlocks something different – from a new power, to more Subsume Slots (max Rank Helminth = unlimited Subsume Slots), make sure you progress through the Ranks by regularly Feeding Helminth, Subsuming, and Infusing your Warframes!

What are the Helminth Abilities?

Helminth Provides unique abilities of their own:

“EMPOWER”
“Increase the strength of your next Ability use.”

“ENERGY MUNITIONS”
“Increase the efficiency of your Ammo consumption.”

“INFESTED MOBILITY”
“Increase your parkour velocity.”

“MARKED FOR DEATH”
“Stun an enemy; a portion of the next damage you deal to it will be dealt to all enemies around it.”

“REBUILD SHIELDS”
“Instantly restore your shields.”

“PERSPICACITY”
“Automatically succeed at your next hack attempt.”

“MASTER’S SUMMONS”
“Heal your companion and call it to your side.”

“EXPEDITE SUFFERING”
“Affect enemies in a cone, removing any Bleed and Poison status from them and dealing any remaining damage not yet suffered in a single burst.”

What is Subsuming?

Subsuming is the act of permanently providing a base Warframe into the Helminth’s biology. 1 Warframe can be subsumed every 24 hours. In addition to Helminth’s own Abilities, you can Subsume a Warframe to obtain 1 specific Ability permanently in Helminth’s memory (list below). We do not allow the Subsuming of any Prime Warframes, but you can Infuse Abilities on Prime Warframes! Warframes can be Subsumed at any Rank (do not need to be Rank 30).

What is Infusion?

Infusion is the process of injecting a Warframe with an Ability – whether it be one of Helminth’s own, or another Warframes. Every Warframe can receive 1 Infused ability at a time in any Ability slot (i.e you could place Shock on any of the 4 Ability slots).

What Abilities are earned on Subsuming a Warframe?

The following table outlines the current Ability a given Warframe will provide on the Subsume action.

Why do some Infused Warframe Abilities have these rules?

It was apparent in player feedback and our own play testing that these Infused Warframe Abilities had the potential to be the overwhelming choice; which is not ideal. Instead of changing the Ability outright due to those concerns, we decided to give them slight rules when Infused.

What are my safeguards?

Since you can remove an Ability at any time with the press of a button, you’ll be able to safely experiment with many creative combinations.

For example, if you replace Grendel’s ‘1’, your kit doesn’t really work! If you change around or re-assign Abilities already assigned to Railjack Tactical use, you simply may not have one, or have a new one in its place! If you put Hildryn’s PIllage on Inaros, you don’t get Shields, but you do get diminished Armor/Shields on enemies on cast.

It’s all up to you – have fun experimenting, Tenno!

What about Damage buffing Abilities?

As you can see, we have two Abilities that increase damage: Mirage’s Eclipse, and Rhino’s Roar. We are creating a special case for these Abilities when infused on Warframes with similar Abilities (i.e Chroma, Mirage, Rhino, Octavia). When you infuse these, you will receive a prompt that you can only have 1 Damage Buffing ability at a time, and thus you are limited to replacing said ability type. Which is to say – Damage Buffing abilities can only be swapped with Damage Buffing Abilities on Warframes that already have them. However, that limitation does not apply to the other 30+ Warframes.

What exactly is going on here with the Warframe Subsuming?

Warframes that are Subsumed join the Helminth in an eternal bond. They will live on in a Lotus flower that matches the colours of the Subsumed Warframe, as a permanent honor.

Is ‘Helminth’ a permanent name?

Don’t like it? You can rename your Helminth at any time!

Is Helminth a Cat or Dog ‘Person’?

Well, you’ll find out…

COMMUNITY CREATED WARFRAME: XAKU
Neither he nor she, Xaku is a composite…. A Warframe assembly made of others lost in the early Entrati Void expeditions. Xaku has mastered this power of the Void to terrify and bewilder their adversaries.

Created by the community in the Community Created Warframe project from theme to aesthetic to Abilities. Xaku’s concept art was made by community fan artist Eornheit!

Since XAKU is a community Warframe, we will be doing a concerted second Phase of ability tweaks that is based on feedback on all platforms to ensure there are revisions from the community’s experiences. We will discuss this in a Dev Workshop as we get your feedback on our desks!

PASSIVE
25% chance for incoming weapon damage to pass through Xaku completely.

XATA’S WHISPER
Wield Void Damage for all attacks from equipped weapons when activated.

GRASP OF LOHK
Void Tendrils steal weapons from nearby enemies to use as your own floating, auto-targeting armament.

THE LOST
Cycle through and cast one of the three abilities originating from the Warframes that make up Xaku: Accuse, Gaze, and Deny. Cycle through them by tapping, and hold to cast.

ACCUSE – Create a radial fissure for a limited time that corrupts enemies who walk within its radius to fight alongside Xaku.

GAZE – Xaku releases a scream of the many voices within to lock up to two target enemies in place with a Void tendrils cage. Enemies who enter the radius of the trapped victims will have their Armor or Shields reduced.

DENY – Xaku fires a beam that deals Void damage and can clear Sentient damage resistances. Enemies that survive the blow are suspended in the air.

THE VAST UNTIME
Temporarily shed the outer pieces of Xaku in a destructive blast, then stalk the battlefield in a new swifter skeletal form. Enemies damaged by the body shrapnel are rendered weaker to Void damage. While Xaku is in their skeletal form, they have 75% damage reduction and increased mobility. Recast at any time to bring Xaku back together again.

  • Similarly to Equinox, a toggle is available in the Arsenal to see Xaku in their “The Vast Untime” form.

XAKU COLLECTION
Xaku arrives from the Void as a strange and enigmatic new force. Includes the Xaku Warframe, Xaku Kintsu Helmet, Artifex Syandana, and Quassus Warfan. Also includes 3-Day Affinity and Credit Boosters.

XAKU KINTSU ALT HELMET
Xaku cuts a unique profile in this distinctive Alt Helmet assembled from the remains of several other, less fortunate Warframes. Concept art and sculpt of the Xaku Kintsu Alt Helmet was made by community TennoGen Artist Faven.

ARTIFEX SYANDANA
This techno-organic Syandana fits over the shoulder, giving your Warframe a unique spiked silhouette. A signature Syandana for Xaku. Concept art for the Artifex Syandana was made by community fan artist Karu.

QUASSUS
Flick away the enemy with this heavy Warfan. The Quassus scatters ethereal daggers that are even more deadly accurate when wielded by Xaku, their signature weapon. Concept art for the Quassus Warfan was made by fan artist Kedemel.

*Find the Quassus in the Market or the Blueprint in Entrati Bounties.

Heart of Deimos: Update 29

Tenno,

Much awaits you in Update 29: Heart of Deimos. Unveil the secrets of Deimos, Mars’ second moon. Discover what has been shrouded in mystery, hidden from the Origin System, and why this Infested moon has revealed itself only now. You may begin your search in the ‘Heart of Deimos’ Quest, eligible for players who have completed the Earth to Mars Junction.

Tenno beginning their journey in Warframe will now awake to a new cinematic introduction and revised tutorial with the New Player Experience: Tutorial 3.0. If you’ve already awoken, you too can enjoy the refresh by visiting the Codex in your Orbiter.

Xaku – The community-designed Warframe is here! Meet an amalgam of three fallen Warframes from an age past whose pieces were assembled of the Void and reborn as one: Xaku. They call out to you.

The Helminth has arrived, Warframe’s deepest customization system yet. Feed the Helminth to replace your Warframes’ Abilities! To begin the feast, you must earn the Helminth Segment from the Entrati Syndicate within the Heart of Deimos.

As with all Mainlines, we cast a huge web of changes. You may find some placeholder and unfinished features as you explore all that Heart of Deimos has to offer – please let us know if you see anything amiss! Within the Entrati Syndicate there of course exists its own economy, of which we welcome your constructive feedback once you’ve delved into its features.

Enjoy the Heart of Deimos, Tenno!

*Find the Necramech Blueprint as well as its Components from the Necraloid Syndicate.

Ability 1: Necraweb
Hurl a canister of graviton fluids to create a wide mire that will significantly slow enemies travelling across it. Alternatively, the canister can be shot in mid-air to create a fiery conflagration.

Ability 2: Storm Shroud
Swathe the Necramech in a powerful electrical field that greatly enhances survivability in close combat. Enemies that strike the shroud will suffer for their impudence.

Ability 3: Gravemines
Launch a pattern of charged mines all around you. Each mine detonates in a violent blast when touched, damaging enemies in a three-meter radius.

Ability 4: Guard Mode
Take a stationary stance to deploy maximum firepower and gain increased structural integrity for a time.

Necramech is compatible with Arch Guns with Gravimags installed!

NECRAMECH MODS:

You will be able to Mod your very own Necramech using the 16 new Mods, obtained as drops from slain Necramechs.

*Find the Cortege Blueprint as well as its Components from the Necraloid Syndicate.

  • Trapezium Xenorhast – Legendary
  • Cabochon Embolos – Legendary

ALLOYS

  • Adramal Alloy – Common
  • Tempered Bapholite – Common
  • Devolved Namalon – Uncommon
  • Thaumic Distillate – Rare

  1. Keep or Release

After you have successfully saved the creature, you have the option to either keep or release it. Keeping the creature will make it available as a trusty Companion, while releasing the creature will put it back into the wild for a Standing gain with the Entrati.

NEW INFESTED ENEMIES
The DEIMOS creatures roaming the Cambion Drift feast on anything foolish enough to enter their desolate landscape. Fear the scuttling terror of the Deimos Carnis, the powerful slam of the Deimos Saxum and the subterranean terror of the Deimos Jugulus. With many legs and fearsome appetites, these infested creatures are waiting to devour any unwary Tenno that may cross their path!

NEW INFESTED ENEMY MOD SETS:

Three new Mod Sets are here! The Saxum, Jugulus, and Carnis Mod Sets can be acquired from the Cambion Drift Bounty Rewards or from respective Infested enemies in the Cambion Drift.

Quellor Changes:

  • Decreased Alt Fire ammo cost from 75 to 50.
  • Increased lifetime of Alt Fire projectile from 0.095s to 0.12s

UI Reskins:

Since our Dev Workshops in early 2020, we have made a lot of progress behind the scenes on UI updates and changes. The End-of-Mission re-design is here, and it adheres to feedback we received as well as our own direction to better showcase your Warframes and your squads Warframes!

In general, these UI screens have been updated with fresh looks and will reflect your chosen UI Theme! More changes to come!

The End of Mission / Mission Progress screen have also received some functionality changes:

  • Added Collapse/Expand buttons (arrow with a +/× inside).
  • A “hide” button is available in the top left corner of the Mission Summary and End of Mission screen. Hover over the “eye” icon to hide the mission summary UI to get a clear shot of your surroundings if needed while reviewing stats mid-mission. This icon also removes the UI overall from the Warframe diorama in the backdrop in the End of Mission screen. So you can take screenshots of your squad looking really really cool.
  • Rewards can be sorted by IMPORTANCE or NAME.
  • The Rewards section now has a Search bar.
  • STATS and PROGRESSION can be selected via the bottom right of the screen.
  • End of Mission screen now includes “Medals”! These are fun stats that highlight unique mission achievements aside from the usual, such as Lockers Opened, Syndicate Medallions Found, and much more!

The Inbox UI:

Numerous generic UI screen have also been updated! Such as the ‘FILTER MODS’ screen, when adding a custom Loc-Pin in a Free-Roam mission, selecting Friday to Batch Remove, etc:

General Additions:

  • Earn new Captura Scenes depicting haunting areas of The Cambion Drift and The Underground! Find these within the Entrati Syndicate!
  • Added a new Precept Mod for Oxylus available from Simaris!!
    • Botanist
      • Oxylus Sentinel will scan plants within 20m over 5s. This consumes Codex Scanner charges.

Zephyr Airburst Changes:

Zephyr’s Airburst Ability now has 2 behaviours based on if you’re HOLDING to cast vs TAP to cast:

  • Zephyr’s Airburst original functionality is now activated by HOLDING to cast.
    • Generate a burst of massively dense air that explodes on contact and sends enemies flying. Launch Airbursts into Tornadoes to make them grow.
  • By TAPPING Zephyr’s Airburst, it now sucks in enemies instead of pushing them away.
  • Increased Airburst projectile speed by 50%.
  • Increased Airburst casting animation speed by 20%.

Trinity Well of Life Changes:

Well of Life now passively heals allies in a radius around the target (base 100 Health per second within 8 meters). Shooting the held target gives extra Health to all allies in range (base 1% of damage dealt to the victim) instead of only the person who made the attack.

General Warframe Ability Changes:

  • Increased the Cold Status Effects from 1 to 6 for these Frost Abilities (which brings it back to pre-Status Changes):
    • Freeze (Area of Effect)
    • Ice Wave (slow)
    • Avalanche (slow)
  • Ivara’s Artemis Bow now has 20% Status Chance per projectile. Also slightly tweaked how Status Chance and Multishot are displayed in Arsenal stats.
  • Made Loki’s decoy more visible with darker Energy colors and will now use secondary Energy colors.
  • Tweaked Mag’s Greedy Pull to pull over 0.75 seconds (down from 1.0).
  • Wukong’s Iron Staff now has a 100% Damage block.
    • All melee weapons are intended to have perfect blocking after Melee 3.0, Wukong’s staff just slipped through the cracks.

General Changes:

  • Acolyte Mods have been redistributed into Entrati Bounties as we are sunsetting the rerunning of that event, however, it won’t be the last you see of Acolytes overall. Stay tuned for more!
  • Mag’s Magnetize now has an added functionality as seen in the “Awakening” cinematic. Now, when Magnetize is held vs. tapped to cast, Mag creates and holds a Magnetize bubble in front of her that absorbs projectiles. Recast the ability to throw the absorbed damage in a cone back onto enemies. Mag can also walk while holding the bubble.
  • Enemy Beacons are now disabled for Invasion missions due to numerous Beacon spawns not attacking you when used in an Invasion mission where you’re allied with the respective team.
  • Improvements towards hair shading when Deferred Rendering is enabled.
  • The Aero, Motus, and Proton Mod Sets now have unique Set Icons.
  • Deimos nodes have been added into the mix for Sorties, Syndicate, and Void Fissure missions.
  • You can now hold the dismount button and release it to dismount from K-Drive.
  • Updated Athodai’s description to indicate that “headshot KILLS trigger Overdrive”.

In today’s Outriders broadast, developer People Can Fly showcased the Outriders Technomancer class, as well as a solid look at how co-op gameplay! Check both videos down below to see what kind of action awaits us this holiday.

Head on below to see both videos for some co-op gameplay and a class breakdown.

Here’s what People Can Fly Creative Director Bartek Kmita had to say about the Technomancer class:

The Techomancer is an exciting and flexible class that can be built as anything from crowd control focused support, to a high-powered artillery heavy damage dealer. They’re a great addition to any team of OUTRIDERS.

Witness the carnage of Outriders’ brutal co-op possibilities as a Pyromancer and Devastator are joined by our newly revealed class – the Technomancer. This spotlight premiered first on the Outriders Broadcast 3, a monthly show that features brand-new gameplay, new areas, never before seen powers, character class deep dives, development updates straight from the team, and more.

In addition to these two new videos, a new trailer was released earlier today as well called “Become Terror.” You can also check out the Pyromancer class’ abilities here.

Gears 5 Update 1.1.509.0 Brings a New Ranked Season & More

Gears 5 is almost one year old, but developer The Coalition is kicking off the brand new ranked system that launches today, August 25! With the Gears 5 update 1.1.509.0 also brings in a new versus event called Luck of the Draw, you don’t know what weapon you start with or what’s next. the patch clocks in at 2.4GB! Head on below for the complete list of changes.

Gears 5 update 1.1.509.0 patch notes:

The new ranking system will see all players start in bronze tier and work their way up through the ranks, think Apex Legends ranking system. The higher you climb, the more GP (Gears Points) it costs to enter a match. Introduced in beta form for the preseason that just ended, The Coalition made the following changes to ranked from the feedback:

  • Team Deathmatch is back! This popular mode makes its return to Ranked with the following changes.
    • It’s now 4v4 (previously 5v5).
    • We’ve heard your feedback about the prevalence of stacks at the higher ranks. As such, TDM will feature only solo and duo squads.
    • We’ve adjusted the scale of our GP values so we can better tune to ensure individual, skilled performance is recognized. In most cases, something that was 1 GP is now 10 GP. The win bonus is now 1,500 GP in every ranked mode.

The tuning for weapons including the beloved Ghasher are also being improved. On a pure gameplay level, almost everything from movement to starting weapons are changing:

Gnasher:

Adjustments to Bullet Magnetism on both the Hipfire and ADS

A certain level of bullet magnetism has been one the foundations to making the Gnasher “feel” consistent in every Gears game.

While this mechanic gives you a sense of consistency, it can impact your ability to dodge shots, e.g. it reduces the effectiveness of the strafing at close ranges.

  • Hipfire Magnetism: 100% strength at 0m, dropping to 75% at 4m and then dropping to 0% at 6m.
  • ADS Magnetism: 50% strength up to 3.25m and linearly dropping to 0% at 5m.

Note: ADS values are different to Hipfire because ADS distance values are measured from the camera as opposed to barrel which is the case when hipfiring. The ADS will feel a lot like the competitive tuning but will still be a viable option at very close range.

We’ve kept some assistance within chunk range to maintain a level of consistency across ADS and Hipfire.

Before Tuning Update
After Tuning Update

Removed the randomness on certain shots

There are some legacy mechanics that have existed in every Gears game since Gears of War 2 which continue to cause a level of inconsistencies with the Gnasher. The goal is to make the same action achieve the same result so you are always in full control and understand where your shots will land so we have adjusted these mechanics.

At some ranges, bullet magnetism would kick in and cover up the level of randomness. Since we have reduced those values, we need to make the gun itself as consistent as possible so the responsibility can fall more onto you the player.

  • Blindfires from cover will now hit the same location every time.
  • Hipfire shots immediately fired after canceling a slide will now hit the same location every time if the player repeats the exact same action/timing.
  • Performing a Back A from cover will now hit the same location with the same action/timing.

Adjusted the Gnasher spread to provide more intuitive ideal shots

Based on all the changes above, we know that landing ADS shots will naturally be harder; so we slightly tightened the spread to help players land more pellets on average with well-placed shots.

  • ADS spread modifier: 0.5 to 0.45

Movement does not increase the size of the hipfire spread

This means any movement action a player does; strafe (walk), bounce or roadie run will keep the spread at a consistent size.

The Gnasher no longer causes camera shake (Flinch)

Previously, players that landed a Gnasher shot first were rewarded by disrupting the other player’s aim.

As we’ve made landing shots more skillful, players will now have control throughout the fight. Basically, if you are shot by a Gnasher it will no longer throw your aim off resulting in a genuine Aim vs Aim battle. Note: Other weapons will still cause camera shake, this change will only affect Gnasher vs Gnasher combat.

MOVEMENT:

Slide speed set to 600

We believe the slower slide speed correlates with the goals above and other changes listed.

The slower slide speed leads to smoother and more readable movement. With the changes to acceleration (Increased by 50%) and the slide speed being increased from launch heading into Op2 (630 > 650), some players have found it hard to react efficiently to the faster movement.

Speed boost lowered from 650 lasting 1.5s down to 600 lasting 1s

The intention is to keep the transition from Roadie Running to Slide to Cover Slip to Roadie Run as smooth as possible without the feeling of seeing players quickly accelerating out of a cover slip or players feeling like they hit a wall (if it was completely removed).

This mechanic is key to making navigating the map feel as smooth as possible, but we also want to maintain balanced gameplay within close-range engagements.

LANCER:

By slowing the game down, we feel it’s critical to slightly lower the damage output of the Lancer. We’re also improving the consistency of damage at close ranges to make the gun more intuitive to the user.

  • Damage decreased from 55 > 50 per bullet (players have 600 max health) resulting in 12 shot downs
  • Headshot multiplier decreased from 1.35x > 1.25x
  • Damage drop off at close range (20%) has been removed.
  • Damage drop off at longer ranges has been adjusted to keep the 14-bullet down: 0.8x > 0.9x.

GENERAL:

  1. Health Regenerates while bouncing

The responsibility should fall on the shooter to stop their opponent regenerating health and we believe this change better correlates with all the changes listed above.

2. Players do not lose bullet magnetism when cancelling a slide

This equalizes the assistance given to players coming out of a slide.

With the reductions in those mechanics (Bullet mag and slide speed) we believe this is a suitable change going forward that will increase consistency within chunk range.

This also benefits all weapons when cancelling out of a slide, but the Gnasher will be affected the most by these changes. Continue reading “Gears 5 Update 1.1.509.0 Brings a New Ranked Season & More”

New Outriders Trailer Lets You Become Terror

People Can Fly’s Outriders has a new broadcast showing today, and as part of it, a new Outriders trailer has been released titled “Become Terror.” Prepare for a more subdued trailer than in past ones released, as it gives us a more personal look at the carnage that goes in. There’s still a lot of explosions and death, so don’t worry about missing any of that.

While Outriders seems to have been flying under the radar since it was announced, we’re starting to dig where People Can Fly is taking this, so expect more Outriders coverage in the future from us.

About Outriders:

OUTRIDERS is an RPG shooter set in an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe. As mankind bleeds out in the trenches of Enoch, you’ll create your own Outrider and embark on a journey across a hostile planet. With rich storytelling spanning a diverse world, you’ll leave behind the slums and shanty towns of the First City and traverse forests, mountains and deserts in pursuit of a mysterious signal. Combining intense gunplay with violent powers, along with an arsenal of increasingly twisted weaponry and gear-sets, OUTRIDERS offers countless hours of gameplay from one of the finest shooter studios in the industry.

We’ll have more videos of Outriders up later today the moment the broadcast is over.

Outriders shoots out this holiday on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.

Xbox One Update Rolling Out for August, New Xbox Experience Coming to Insiders

Today, Xbox announced that the Xbox One update for August is now available to all players, and will be rolling out today. Included in this update are many improvements for the main dashboard, most importantly, the guide most used by players. The new guide design is cleaner and more comfortable to read and comes with the ability to customize the order of the tabs that you see when you first press the home button (it will default to the most recent games or apps you have been using).

Also added are buttons of the bottom of the guide that can take you to the most common areas of the dashboard that players use, like the store, Game Pass catalogue or notifications inbox. Speaking of notifications, the update also includes a brand new redesign for notifications. The new design combines all notifications into one hub space, from messages, game invites and unlocked achievements. It will also bring notifications from all Xbox apps like PC and the new mobile app that Microsoft says will be rolling out into beta very soon.

Other improvements to this update include the parties and messages tabs combined into a single space. You can also individually adjust the volume for anyone who joins a party you are in and preview messages that have been sent to you before you open it. You can read more on the smaller changes that are included in today’s update here.

For select Xbox Insiders (which is Xbox’s beta testing service), the new Xbox experience that we covered last week is rolling out today. A brand new visual look for the dashboard that will bring all Xbox platforms into one ecosystem is the prominent feature. Insiders will get to give feedback on how they feel about the new design before it is pushed out to the Series X this holiday. Microsoft comments that most of the pages’ overall layout will not be drastically changing, so you don’t have to learn a whole new UI when Xbox Series X launches. The other two substantial changes come in the form of Profile Themes and a new sign-in policy coming with the launch of Project XCloud (Xbox’s cloud streaming service). Following in Playstation’s footsteps, Xbox and PC players will now have access to Themes. Many themes will be included when Insiders get access to it with more being added over time, including some game Themes from different Xbox Studios and will carry over to all Xbox devices.

Users will now be able to sign into multiple devices with a single account. With the launch of Project XCloud, users will be able to watch movies, use apps and chat in parties without being worried about being signed out. The only catch here is that when playing games, your account can only be used to play a single game at a time. So for some of you who might think it would be cool to sign into XCloud and your Xbox at the same time, unfortunately, you are out of luck. More updates on what the Xbox ecosystem will bring with the Series X launch are expected as we get closer to a launch date.

Marvel’s Avengers Next War Table Set for Sept. 1, Will Feature First Post-Launch Story Season and a New Hero

While the Marvel’s Avengers beta just wrapped up this weekend and the game’s launching on September 4, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics aren’t done hyping the game just yet, as the Marvel’s Avengers next War Table stream has been announced for September 1.

In the press release, publisher Square Enix announced that the upcoming War Table stream will give players our first in-depth look at the first post-launch story season, as well as the unveiling of an additional post-launch hero. In addition to that, the episode will focus on the stuff players need to keep track of for day one.

On September 1, the third Marvel’s Avengers WAR TABLE will give all the information players need to get started on Day One of the game’s release. Special attention will be paid to the game’s progression system, hints and tips for taking on the game’s more than 50 different types of enemies, as well as additional details about Marvel’s Avengers’ high-level content.

The WAR TABLE will also dive deeper into the Avengers Initiative, where players hone their heroes to their ultimate versions after they finish the game’s Reassemble story campaign, as well as the game’s first post-launch content season. Minds will be blown and wishes granted as some of the game’s extensive slate of additional heroes, villains, missions, regions, and gameplay modes are unveiled, all of which will be made available at no additional cost.

Same as before, MP1st will be here to report on the important announcements as it happens. While we already know that Hawkeye and Spider-Man is coming (the latter for PlayStation platforms exclusively), we’re wondering if one of the new post-launch heroes will be part of the 15 that were unearthed via datamining.

Make sure to read our Marvel’s Avengers beta impressions to see what we make of it. We also posted a feature on the things we want to see changed/fixed based on beta feedback.
