Report: Call of Duty Warzone Duos Planned for Season 3

With Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in full swing, Infinity Ward introduced Quads (four-man teams) in Call of Duty: Warzone, which replaced the standard Trios mode. Joining Quads is Solos mode for those who prefer a more lone wolf approach. It seems, the studioo is also planning a Call of Duty Warzone Duos mode soon as well.

On the official Call of Duty: Warzone website, Activision accidentally published a post listing the “New Modes” coming to Warzone, and directly below it is a shot of Duos alongside Quads. The image has since been pulled, but thankfully, Reddit user Polack19 managed to capture it.

Important to note that the datamined info leaking the Season 3 weapons and other stuff, also included Duos, which means this is almost a lock, though it hasn’t officially been announced just yet.

With Solos, Duos, Trios and Quads now in Warzone, Infinity Ward (and players) will have to figure out which playlist is best, though I can see Duos being a limited time mode more than anything.

GTA Online Update This Week – Triple Rewards in Aerial Modes, GTA$1M Daily Rewards & More

Rockstar Games has rolled out the GTA Online update this week, which brings in a new host of rewards, activities and more. Check out the full details below.

GTA Online update this week summary:

  • Triple Rewards are now available in Stockpile, Air Force Zero, and Top Fun
  • All Smuggler’s Run Sell Missions are now paying double
  • Daily Objectives are paying extra, plus a free J Lager Beer hat and GTA$1M for completing 10 of them throughout the week
  • A free, one-time GTA$500K gift for anyone who logs into GTA Online this month
  • The Imponte Deluxo is the latest Lucky Wheel top prize
  • Aerial-themed discounts, including: 60% off the P-996 Lazer, 50% off the Buzzard Attack Chopper, and 60% off Hangars, Hangar Modifications & Add-Ons

Take to the Skies This Week in GTA Online

In Stockpile, the skies above Los Santos and Blaine County are scattered with contrails and alight with the glow of red-hot lead. Get Triple Rewards this week as you jump into the cockpit, retrieve loot and safely return it to your team’s base.

There are other forms of aerial chaos to take part in, too. Choose the Versus option from the Jobs menu, then protect or attack the target in Air Force Zero to take home 3X GTA$ & RP. You’ll also earn Triple Rewards for hopping behind the sticks of a Lazer jet and attempting to gun down a team of runners in Top Fun.

And high flyers looking to sell on the black market can earn twice the going rate by taking on any Smuggler’s Run Sell Mission through April 15.

Rockstar is giving away GTA$ gift as well. Players will get a one-time GTA$500,000 gift to anyone who plays GTA Online this April, and the reward will be automatically be sent to the Maze Bank account within seven days.

Players can also expect Daily Objectives to pay out extra until April 16. Complete a total of 10 Daily Objectives throughout the week, and players will get a J Lager Beer hat as a free gift along with an additional GTA$1,000,000.

Warframe Update 1.84 Now Out, Introduces Op Scarlet Spear (27.3.9)

As expected from yesterday’s announcement, the new Warframe patch is out on consoles (PS4, Xbox One), and introduces the big Operation Scarlet Spear content. Digital Extremes calls this the Warframe 27.3.9 update, while console gamers will see this as Warframe update 1.84.

While PC players have been able to experience the new content for more than a week now, consoles are getting platform-specific fixes as well. We’ve listed the entire Warframe update 1.84 patch notes below.

Warframe update 1.84 patch notes – Operation Scarlet Spear (27.3.9):

Console Specific Notes: 

The Gigelor Prime Syandana has been added to the Titania Prime Accessories Pack! Those who have purchased the Titania Prime Accessories Pack before this update will have the bonus Syandana added to their account after we run a script that will go live sometime today. We will update you here once the script has begun! 

As was noted in the Titania Prime Hotfix thread, the Modified Gigelorum Prime Syandana, officially named Gigelor Prime Syandana, will be distributed to those who have purchased the Titania Prime Accessories Pack via a script. The Gigelor Prime Syandana will also now be included in purchases of the aforementioned Packs moving forward.

Titania has had a history of clipping with Syadanas due to her wingspan features, and when designing her Gigelorum Prime Syandana it became apparent that it wasn’t going to sit right on her features. Considering it can look awesome on other Warframes, we started work on the shorter Gigelor Prime Syandana that will position nicely with Titania Prime’s features! We’ve also made some slight collision and offset tweaks to have the Gigelorum Prime Syandana sit nicer between Titania’s wings. 

Status on TennoGen Bundles:

As announced in the Status thread, while we did grab PC’s Update 27.3.8, the Round 18 TennoGen items that launched with it will not be in this update for PS4. We are however in the beginning stages of transferring a curated list of items from Round 18 – transfers can take some time so we are unable to give you a clear timeline for launch, but we will share more information once the transfer process is finalized.

Misc: 

  • The following additions that came with PC’s Update 27.2.0 are still in development for PS4 and will not be available in this update:
    • HDR Preview: We are still looking into the tech support to potentially bring the HDR Preview option to PS4 Pro – stay tuned!
    • Deferred Rendering Preview: We are still looking into the tech support to potentially bring this option in the future!
    • Audio dynamics processing to master output: The code to support this is currently not ready to go live on PS4 with this update! We are still working towards it for a future release.

Controller Changes & Fixes:

  • Fixed inability to activate Railjack Abilities bound to the same button as ‘MOVE_UP’.
  • Fixed context actions sometimes not displaying the correct button callout to use them.
  • Fixed nonfunctional button callouts when upgrading avionics and attempting to filter the type.
  • Fixed your Warframe spinning endlessly if exiting the Arsenal while previewing a weapon with a controller.
  • Fixed two Callouts for the same button, Sort and Distill, in the Arcane Manager Screen.
  • Fixed Rank Up button not appearing outside of the Arcane Equip screen when opened via Foundry.

PS4 Specific Notes: 

  • Fixed the slider for the Field of View option showing “0.025” after using the right arrow icon past the 90 max.
  • Fixed spending Platinum to unlock a new Appearance Config Slot for Kavats breaking Kavat appearances entirely as reported here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/comments/ezqhf8/please_fix_my_cat/
  • Fixed Credit total in the End of Mission screen not taking into account Kuva Lich tax while Credit Booster is active.
  • Fixed objective markers moving wildly in Plains of Eidolon and Fortuna missions depending on the player’s position while in Archwing.
  • Fixed the UI sometimes showing the incorrect binding for Reviving.

XB1 Specific Notes: 

  • Fixed Credit total in the End of Mission screen not taking into account Kuva Lich tax while Credit Booster is active.
  • Fixed objective markers moving wildly in Plains of Eidolon and Fortuna missions depending on the player’s position while in Archwing.
  • Fixed the UI sometimes showing the incorrect binding for Reviving.

Operation: Scarlet Spear

As a reminder from yesterday’s Status thread post, Operation: Scarlet Spear will begin later today! Since this is our first work-from-home console launch, the Operation: Scarlet Spear event itself will begin sometime after the update has deployed. To help address issues quickly if present, we want to give our QA troops hunkered down at home the ability to jump right into the event with the community. NEW WARFRAME DISABLE AUGMENTS (Max Rank)

The New War Chapters:

As you may already know, in Warframe Revised we added The New War Chapters section of the Codex that allows you to shortcut to the Chimera Prologue and the Erra Quest (Sacrifice Quest completion required).

For those who have not logged in since before Warframe Revised, you will be presented with a welcome screen that now includes a direct shortcut to The New War Chapters to get you up to speed before you play Operation Scarlet Spear.

We’ve made a few changes to The New War Chapters section of the Codex:

  • Selecting a completed New War Chapter will show the End of Quest screen.
  • Selecting a New War Chapter in progress will show the Quest details like in the Codex.

Ensure you’re ready for the next chapter in The New War!

General Additions:

  • Open your eyes to a new Drusus tale with the Nova Leverian! Access the Leverian through the Codex or Market (via Nova).
  • Mastery Rank 28 Tenno will soon be able to practice the Mastery Rank 29 Test in Cephalon Simaris’ Relay room!
  • Added an option in Captura to ‘Enable Self-Knockdown’.

  • Added custom reload sounds for the Miter!

Impact Changes:

Instead of ending in a knockdown or ragdoll, accumulating 5+ Impact Effects in this update will result in a “big stagger” with smaller staggers leading up to it, which has a random chance to activate a Parazon Finisher if the enemy is under the Health threshold. Each Impact Status adds 10% chance for the Parazon Finisher to be available.

Gas Changes:

  • Gas Effects will continue to tick radial Damage-over-Time for the average of the remaining Effect duration if their host dies.
  • Gas Status Area-of-Effect radius increases with the number of stacks, to a max of 10 stacks.
  • Removed Gas damage resistance from Toxic Ancient Auras.

Status Chance Mod Changes:

  • Increased Hammer Shot Status Chance from 40% to 80%.
  • Increased Shattering Justice Status Chance from 20% to 90%.
    • Shattering Justice has also changed from being an additive rankup to a multiplicative rankup.
  • Increased Stunning Speed Status Chance from 10% to 30%.

Kuva Lich Changes and Fixes:

  • Based on feedback with the recent overhaul to Status Effects in Warframe Revised 27.2.2, the conversation of how Status Effects should react with Bosses or VIPS has started. Our first step down this road is starting with Kuva Liches. Currently, there are two special rules to this “Boss Status enabling”:
    • No Status Effect will exceed a maximum of 4 stacks, with the exception of Impact which can stack up to 6 times.
      • Keep in mind there is a cooldown to how quickly you can stack up Impact Status Effects to avoid stunlocking the Kuva Lich.
  • Radiation does not change the enemy’s Faction, and instead of increasing Damage done to enemies with stacks, it increases the Damage taken from enemies who have turned on him/her.
  • Fixed missing Kuva Lich image in their farewell transmission when Vanquished.
  • Fixed inability to use context actions after stabbing a Kuva Lich.
  • Fixed a script crash that could occur if you tried to escape your new Kuva Lich by quitting the game while en route back to your Orbiter.

Optimizations:

  • Further performance improvements towards Titania’s Lantern when cast on a large group of enemies.
  • Improved cache optimization to clean up even more space in the download cache.
  • Improved world-state synchronization for Alerts, Sorties and other global events (there may have been up to a minute of desync).
  • Improved game synchronization in hostile network environments.
  • Optimized out a number small memory bloats in the type-dep database to reduce the risk of crashes due to relocation (player loadouts in relays, procedural levels, etc).
  • Optimized backdrop rendering performance in all levels.
  • Optimized the Attica’s embedded projectiles to help CPU and GPU performance.
  • Optimized the Hystrix projectile trail and spark FX.
  • The Pox, Acceltra, and Shedu have been given explosion FX tweaks for visual and performance improvement.
  • Performance improvements towards Grineer Crewships when their engines explode.
  • Fixed Codex generation randomizing the block order of the Fragment entries (this should be deterministic to avoid updating several MB of resource for no reason).
  • Fixed a crash that could occur on slow internet connections if you quit the game while loading into a Relay.
  • Fixed high GPU Effects time when shooting Profit Taker’s legs with the Imperator Vandal.
  • Fixed the game possibly having high memory usage if someone was spawning Spore Ephemera in the other room and the game wasn’t properly cleaning up due to the player being out of sight.

Railjack Changes & Fixes:

  • Added Battle and Tactical Avionic categories in the Avionics Upgrade screen.
  • Crewship boarding will be denied when the meltdown timer has 3 seconds remaining.
    • This is to avoid multiple issues with being put into a broken state due to the boarding cinematic competing with the Crewship exploding/attempting to teleport you out.
  • Removed the hanger door of the Grineer POI with the ‘Steal the Destroyer’ objective to resolve issues of the door not opening. When in doubt take it out!
  • Upon returning back to the Railjack after exiting through the Archwing Cannon, in this update you’ll be spawned at the back of the Railjack bridge instead of near the Forging Bay.
  • Enemies that you’re focused on while in a Turret in this update will display their Status Effect stacks.
  • Fixed Exo Skold Crewships in the Veil Proxima dropping Mk I Armaments. In this update they will drop MK III Armaments as intended.
  • Fixed the UI in the Super Weapon Platform not updating after the Radiator is destroyed for Clients.
  • Fixed inability to disengage bombs placed by Grineer Boarding Parties if a Host migration occurs during a Railjack mission.
  • Fixed incorrect Archwing movement animations if you exit the Railjack while Bullet Jumping (Moving left will play the forward animation, moving forward will play the moving right animation, etc).
  • Fixed a bug where the screenshake from a Grineer Crewship reactor meltdown would linger forever if it was active when the Crewship exploded.
  • Fixed Grineer fighters attacking the Derelict POI in Veil Proxima missions.
  • Fixed Vidar Reactors Mk III missing their component modifiers.
  • Fixed Tactical Menu not displaying correct Battle Avionic values that have had their Grid Upgraded in the Dry Dock.
  • Fixed case of Crewships sometimes staying completely still.
  • Fixed seeing black boxes when in Turret AR mode.
  • Fixed Railjack fighters sometimes going out of level bounds while in combat.
  • Fixed the ‘Forge All’ button having no effect or sound.
  • Fixed having to select the ‘Railjack Crew’ button twice when selecting it from Dojo Navigation.
  • Fixed Ramsleds trying to initiate a Boarding Party after the mission is complete.
  • Fixed Railjack name text lingering behind when joining another player’s squad and loading into their Dry Dock.
  • Fixed missing looping sounds for Ramsleds in the Saturn Proxima and Veil Proxima.
  • Fixed the Wreckage capacity limit pulse FX in the Railjack Configuration UI pulsing even when you aren’t reaching the limit.
  • Fixed Sentient Exterminate objective randomly starting on POI hints.
  • Fixed Vidar Reactors Mk III missing their component modifiers for Warframe clients that are not in English.
  • Fixed a case of not receiving your collected items (Avionics, Resources, etc) in Railjack missions until you head back to the Dry Dock.
  • Fixed the Orokin Derelict showing “Missile Platform” as the name when you aim at it in a Railjack mission.
  • Fixed script crash that could occur if you joined a Railjack mission at exactly the wrong moment.
  • Fixed a script error when entering a Crewship via Archwing Slingshot.
  • Fixed a script error when casting the Railjack Void Hole ability.

Foundry Crafting Time Change:
As per player request, we’ve reduced Forma, Orokin Catalyst, Orokin Reactor, and Exilus Warframe Adapter build time to 23 hours so that 1 can be built consistently every day.

Magus Lockdown Changes:

We are making changes to Magus Lockdown due to it being virtually one of the best CC and Damage combinations in the game. In some cases you can clear waves of Elite Sanctuary Onslaught without even using a Warframe or Weapon, and simply spam Magus Lockdown to victory. This goes well beyond the intended use of it and we are changing it to a CC only Arcane – true to its name – Magus Lockdown!

  • Magus Lockdown will no longer apply Puncture damage to tethered enemies.
  • The amount of active Tethers is now limited to 2 per player.
    • For example, Void Dash once > one Tether, Void Dash again > 2nd Tether, Void Dash a 3rd time > 3rd Tether, 1st Tether dies etc..
  • Magus Lockdown no longer affects the Golden Maw due to the Arcane killing the Maw and preventing Quest completion.
    • This also fixes a script error when Magus Lockdown activates while encountering a Golden Maw.

Grendel Changes:

  • Grendel’s Nourish now mimic’s Titania’s Tribute buff selector.
    • If you’re unfamiliar with Titania’s Tribute buff selector, this means that Nourish is a tap to cycle/select buff and hold to cast. This is a reverse of how it functioned prior to this Update.
  • When consumed by Grendel, Sentients now have a max duration they can be consumed before popping out that is affected by diminishing returns.
    • This change was made to prevent Grendel from prog stopping missions where all Sentients must be exterminated for the mission to succeed. 
  • Grendel can now consume Grenades – cause why not!

Titania Changes & Fixes:

  • Titania has a new Passive: Titania generates Health for herself and nearby Allies every time she casts an Ability (4hp/second for 20 seconds)! The personal Titania Parkour Boost is staying, just the communal Trampoline isn’t.
  • Titania can now use Blink while in her Razorwing ability!
    • This has been live since Warframe Revisited but didn’t get its own note in the update notes, so sharing here for maximum visibility! Blink to your little fairy’s heart content, Tenno! 
  • Removed Titania’s Exalted weapons appearing in the Codex Weapon section, as Exalted Weapons do not show here.
  • Fixed casting Titania’s Razorwing right as you fall into a teleport volume in the Simulacrum resulting in an infinite white screen.
  • Fixed Titania Prime’s energy wings not applying to her Razorwing when other Skins are equipped, as reported here: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1180785-ps4-hotfix-titania-prime/?do=findComment&comment=11476725
  • Fixed enemies becoming immune to all Status Effects when Titania’s Lantern and Spellbind is cast on them.
  • Fixed Titania’s Ironclad Flight Augment not functioning.
  • Fixed melee magnetism not functioning with Titania’s Diwata in Razorwing.
  • Fixed a script error when casting Titania’s Tribute.

Arcane UI Changes:

  • Updated the Arcane ‘DISTILL’ term to ‘BREAK DOWN’ to acquaint new Arcane Management mechanics.
  • Added tips to the Arcane screen for ‘BREAK DOWN’, Arcanes that refresh, and how to obtain respective Arcanes.
  • Arcanes are now displayed with their respective Icon in the HUD, instead of the generic Arcane icon.
  • The Rank-Up button ‘R2’ is now displayed to the left of the next Arcane Rank in the Arcane Upgrade screen.

  • Arcanes that are sold in Vendor Offerings will now only show Max Rank tooltip information, and UI indication that the Arcane you’re purchasing is Unranked.
    • This fixes Arcane tooltips expanding off screen when viewed in Vendor Offerings. 
  • Clarified Arcane requirements for Arcane Trickery, Arcane Ultimatum, and Exodia Might by adding ‘Kill’ to the ‘On Finisher’ line.

General Changes

  • As mentioned in the Titania Prime Hotfix, now that Operation: Scarlet Spear is live on PS4, the following Riven Disposition changes are live:
  • Added a new Lith N4 Relic that contains the Bronco Prime Blueprint.
    • This was added to address the issue of no Relics containing the Bronco Prime Blueprint.
  • Since PC’s Hotfix 27.3.6 was included for this update, the change that removed Venari’s Heal aura affecting Oplinks and Defense Targets is live. We have posted a Dev Workshop to address the change and discuss upcoming changes to Healing Defendable Targets.   • The Yooka Floof is now available in the in-game Market for 1 Credit. Woops slight mistake here -The Yooka Floof will be available in the in-game Market for 1 Credit in an upcoming hotfix coming soon! More information on that in our PSA: 
  • Removed Umbra Forma Blueprint from the Rare Crate drops due to a security issue. Nightwave Series 3: Glassmaker will bring back Umbra Forma as a reward, and we are looking at more secure places to include it back into the droptable.
  • Limbo’s Stasis duration now has diminishing returns on Sentients and Amalgams when the power is used repeatedly. This choice was made for 2 main reasons:
    • 1) Limbo’s Stasis usage makes the gameplay of the Scarlet Spear far too trivial.
    • 2) Sentients by design have Adaptation – and the diminishing returns on recasting adheres to the adaptive nature of the enemy.
    • This is not intended to change the way Stasis interacts with other enemy factions.
  • Increased Status Chance for the Gunblade type weapons to match new Shotgun Status Chance values.
  • Made Fall Off changes to the following weapons:
    • Redeemer
      • Fall Off increased from 20-40m to 10-20m.
    • Redeemer Prime
      • Fall Off increased from 20-40m to 10-30m.
  • The Rakta Dark Dagger Shield bonus when damaging an enemy afflicted by Radiation in this updater will only be granted if you have Shields.
  • Atlas’ Immovable Passive in this update will also apply to Staggers.
  • Added support for Bosses to display active Status Effects on their special Health bar.
  • Removed Stealth Melee bonus always applying to Simulacrum enemies when ‘Pause AI’ is enabled, thus giving non authentic numbers when testing Loadouts.
  • The Warframe Upgrade Arsenal stats in this update will display Resistance values granted by Mods:

FIFA 20 Update 1.19 Shuffles Out

While footie gamers just got a FIFA 20 patch earlier this week, EA Vancouver has released a new one today. FIFA 20 update 1.19 is now out for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It’s a relatively small download, and doesn’t seem to have front-facing changes.

FIFA 20 update 1.19 patch notes:

 

  • A stability issue in FIFA Ultimate Team related to an AI Teammate interfering with the ball’s trajectory, resulting in a goal.

And basically, that’s it, which is to be expected, given this download is a small one, and we got a patch earlier this week that addressed a few gameplay-related issues. If we spot any gameplay-related changes, or if you spot any, feel free to let us know down in the comments,

Modern Warfare Free Tier Skips & Ghost UDT Pack Fix Still Being Worked On

If you bought a Battle Pass in Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and/or bought the Ghost UDT pack from pre-ordering Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, chances are you’re having issues with both if you’re on Xbox One. Infinity Ward is aware of the Modern Warfare free tier skips issue (and the Ghost UDT pack), and have given the latest update on it.

Senior Communications Manager Ashton Williams posted on Twitter that the Modern Warfare free tier skips issue, and the Ghost UDT pack bug are still being worked on.

Free Tier Skips from S2 and UDT Ghost Bundle on Xbox – fixes for both are still being worked on at the moment. Any updates will come from @ATVIAssist and @InfinityWard first, so be sure to give those accounts a follow. They’ll tweet out updates are they become available.

Over on the Modern Warfare subreddit, Willaims also replied to users stating that they’re hoping a fix will be out in “the next few days.”

We’re working on a fix for this as we speak. We’ll message out when the fix is live. Hoping with in the next few days.

Hopefully, both these issues will be sorted soon.

New Saints Row Game Being Developed by Volition

While publisher Deep Silver might be releasing Saints Row: The Third Remastered next month, some might be wondering if that means a new Saints Row game is in development. Well, the short answer is, yes.

Over on Twitter (via GameRant), a fan mentioned how he doesn’t want a remaster, but a new Saints Row game. Thankfully, the official Saints Row Twitter account reminded him that the remaster is being developed by Sperasoft, and not franchise devs, Volition.

Mind, given how crazy Saints Row 4 has become, I have no clue where Volition is taking Saints Row 5 — or whatever it is they call the next entry. Perhaps a soft reboot of sorts? I personally think it’ll be a while, hence why they’re releasing Saints Row: The Third Remastered first, so fans can then move on to Saints Row 4 Remastered, before the next new entry is released.

PS4 Now Has 500 Playable PS2 Games via Jailbreaking

While the PlayStation 4 doesn’t officially support full backward emulation of PS2 titles, this hasn’t stopped hackers from working tirelessly at backporting some classics over to jailbroken consoles. The growing list of playable PS2 titles on the PS4 broke a milestone today, as scene developers confirmed it had reached 500 fully playable titles.

This news comes from an official update on the PS2 Emulation Wiki Page made by PS Scene developer, Roxanne. As of this moment, over 1000 PS2 games have been tested, 500 of those being fully playable without issues via PS4 jailbreaking and the rest either being unplayable or buggy. That’s an impressive feat if you ask me, and good job to all who have tested these games out.

So how exactly is PS2 emulation being done on the PS4? Well, unlike the PS3 where it was natively supported via chipset, emulation on the PS4 is very different and uses similar methods that Sony and other developers have already achieved. An explanation of this can be found below.

PlayStation 2 emulation on PS4 is handled slightly differently compared to PS3. Each PS2 game’s PS4 package file (.pkg) includes the emulator itself, so there is no included emulator in PS4 firmware. Although PS4 firmware have some PS2 emulator specific features, like functions sceLncUtilIsPs2Emu, sceShellCoreUtilGetImposeMenuFlagForPs2Emu, sceSystemServiceAddLocalProcessForPs2Emu, or sceSystemServiceShowImposeMenuForPs2Emu. Fact that emulator is now included in game pkgs, is slightly complicating providing compatibility list. As emulators include some per title patches, and different default settings. Currently most used emulators came from Rogue Galaxy, and Jak games. Next difference is that BIOS in external file is included in .pkg, anyway it is exactly the same BIOS used in ps2_netemu. Another important difference is the lack of encryption mechanism for PS2 game disc image file: this time it is just a plain ISO file, but emulator still support LIMG sector. Memory card is also decrypted, but emulator check crc of some of it regions to ensure that fresh card is not modified. PS2 Emulator supports LUA scripting by “Lua Bridge”, is powerful interface that provide many possibilities to improve compatibility. This is first time when sony need care about floats in their emulator. This is resolved by clamping, and/or converting floats to double precision. Emulator use openCL for GS, and probably other components. – via PSDevWiki

Sadly, this list of compatible games will most likely never make it’s over to the PS4 as it simply isn’t just native support done via the system. You can somewhat look at it as the games being ported directly to the PS4, though they are using an emulator to run, just not natively from the system. What this would mean is the developers would need to devote time themselves, and titles would be resold much like they currently are right now on the PlayStation Network.

Of course, this doesn’t mean Sony themselves can’t come up with a creative way of providing this since you know, they did invent the software. That will, however, have to remain to be seen with the PlayStation 5 as it has currently only been confirmed to be backward compatible with the PS4.

Custom PC Makers, MAINGEAR Joins the Fight Against COVID-19

Having their facilities just 20-minutes away from the nation’s epic center, Custom PC Gaming and wrkstation manufacturer MAINGEAR announced today that they would be shifting their facilities in efforts to create affordable ventilators for hospitals in need to combat COVID-19.

In the press release, representatives from MAINGEAR (including the CEO) took to discuss the current situation that hospitals are currently facing.

“It was clear once this situation began to escalate that something had to be done,” said Wallace Santos MAINGEAR Founder and CEO. “Within days of assembling our team, we had our first prototype ventilator ready to go. Besides the lack of medical supplies and equipment, we think there will be a shortage of medical professionals who can operate these devices especially in field hospitals, so we also made it incredibly simple to use. Now we need help getting the word out to the appropriate people.”

“Medical Ventilators are among the most critical devices required to deal with the sudden spike of hospitalized patients. There is a massive global shortage of these devices, so when MAINGEAR approached me about building one, I connected them with some inventor friends who could help,” said Deepak Kaura, a Pediatric Radiologist, Chief Medical Officer of 1QBit and a member of the Medical Advisory Board of MAINGEAR.

“We are experiencing the first wave of the pandemic. The lack of critical equipment such as ventilators is a key limitation in our response. This ventilator has the advantage of being portable, rugged, and easily operated by frontline personnel,” says Nahush Mokadam, Director of Cardiac Surgery at Ohio State University and a member of the Medical Advisory Board of MAINGEAR.

CEO of MAINGEAR, Wallace Santos, also shared a video going over some of the specifications of their ventilation and hopes that readers will share and tag their local authorities to spread the word.

It was noted that the company is already in talks with New York officials to place their LIV ventilators in the most needed places. However, with the nation needing an estimate of 960,000 ventilators, 30,000 of those in New York in the coming weeks, the battle is far being over. Brand New Risk of Rain 2 Survivor Coming in Version 1.0, Full Poll Results Revealed

Hopoo Games have announced that they will start development on a new Risk of Rain 2 survivor, one that has not been previously seen. This announcement comes right after the result of a week-long voting campaign that they held, given players the chance to vote on the next DLC character.

On the official early access Steam page, Hopoo Games had this to share:

It looks like you, the amazing community, want something completely different and new! Actually, we were caught by surprise with this choice as we assumed it would be either CHEF or Sniper, but love that the community continues to push us in new directions! This is certainly exciting, and something that allows us to think creatively, in new and innovative ways! With this in mind, we are going to go to the drawing board to further flesh out what a potential new survivor could be. It is a fun challenge for us and we cannot wait to bring it to the 1.0 launch.

We’re excited to get a new survivor in for 1.0 launch, but if your fave didn’t win, don’t despair! Just as we mentioned last week, just because a character didn’t win, it doesn’t mean they’re out for good. We have lots to share with you about post-launch support soon, so look forward to that and your brand new survivor in the future. Once again, thanks for a fantastic year of Early Access! I’m glad the studio plans on adding even more Risk of Rain 2 survivors after the 1.0 release, and hopefully those plans involve both Chef and Sniper. As for how close the voting was? Well, this was revealed via the official RoR2 discord channel, which you can find below.

PS5 Console Reveal Happening in the Coming Months

By now, many of you are wondering where in the world is the PS5 console reveal? Well, it seems to be not so very far away as the company confirmed that we are just months away.

If you missed the big news, Sony recently revealed the PlayStation 5 controller, known as the DualSense. With this news now out of the way, Sony now finally sets its sites on the PS5 console reveal, as they prepare themselves for the coming months. Found on the official DualSense reveal page, Sony had included a short statement from current SIE President, Jim Ryan.

“DualSense marks a radical departure from our previous controller offerings and captures just how strongly we feel about making a generational leap with PS5. The new controller, along with the many innovative features in PS5, will be transformative for games – continuing our mission at PlayStation to push the boundaries of play, now and in the future. To the PlayStation community, I truly want to thank you for sharing this exciting journey with us as we head toward PS5’s launch in Holiday 2020. We look forward to sharing more information about PS5, including the console design, in the coming months.

I know it’s probably not the exact announcement you would prefer to hear, but in the least we now have a time window rather for the official reveal.  We’ll be sure to keep you guys posted on all things related to the PS5 (and Xbox Series X). The Division 2 DPS Banned Users Suspension Lifting Today

For long-time The Division 2 players, chances are you’ve heard of a DPS (damage per second) glitch in the game that lets you stack damage and talents on a single weapon. Ubisoft has since issued a ban and/or account rollback for those that abused this exploit, and fortunately, The Division 2 DPS banned users can now breath a sigh of relief, as that suspension has been lifted!

This was announced by Ubisoft and this account suspension lifting should be live for all players now.

  • The one-week suspensions issued in relation to the weapon “DPS Glitch” were lifted yesterday.
  • All accounts suspended due to extensive exploiting of the glitch have now been rolled back to a March 17th, 2020 save. All account progress gained during this period is lost. We consider this action final.

While cheating shouldn’t be tolerated, this is a PvE (player vs. enemy) issue, so I gather, this is why Ubisoft Massive is more lax. Don’t forget to check out the latest patch released the other day. For those accounts that are still suspended, let us know what’s causing it and we’ll try to help.

Red Dead Online New Maps Introduced in Showdown Series

Following yesterday’s Red Dead Online activies refresh, Rockstar Games has announced a set of Red Dead Online new maps that are being introduced in the Showdown Series!

Rockstar has made it so that this Showdown Series arms payers with Throwing Knives, and there’s a bunch of shotguns littering the map too! This mode runs from today until April 13, and will give double XP.

Overrun – Pike’s Basin

A good, old-fashioned turf war in the arid climes of Pike’s Basin. The rules are simple: Capture and retain the most territories to win. It’s surviving and holding on that are the hard part

Spoils of War – Roanoke Valley

Just to the north of the Annesburg Mines, the great state of New Hanover plays host to a deadly game of capture. Defend your stockpile from enemies while stealing from them at the same time. Whichever team steals the most wins. Other players no longer appear blipped on the mini-map in this new Showdown map.

Plunder – Stillwater Creek

Take control of unclaimed loot in the long grass and murky waters of Stillwater Creek, returning it to your team’s home base to outscore your rivals. Other players no longer appear blipped on the mini-map in this new Showdown map.

Up in Smoke – Kamassa River

The calm waters of the meandering Kamassa River are the backdrop for this frenetic and explosive mode. All players start out carrying a package — the goal is to deliver said package to your enemy’s camp without getting killed. Whichever team delivers the most or all of their packages by the end of the game will destroy the enemy base for good. Other players no longer appear blipped on the mini-map in this new Showdown map.

According to Rockstar, there will be “fresh maps” hitting two more Showdown modes in the next couple of weeks.

Modern Warfare Season 3 Battle Pass Has a Resident Evil Easter Egg Pistol

In case you didn’t know, Infinity Ward rolled out a new patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that introduced Season 3, and also a new Battle Pass. It seems this Battle Pass has a Modern Warfare Resident Evil Easter egg!

Curious? I would imagine so. The Modern Warfare Resident Evil Easter egg is in the form of a pistol, which should be familiar with Resident Evil fans when they see it. Included in the Season 3 Battle Pass (and free for everyone who reaches the tier), is a new pistol called the “Renetti” which you can see below.

I know what you’re thinking: it doesn’t look like anything Resident Evil-related, right? If you manage to grind and own the Battle Pass up to tier 85, you’ll then obtain the “Guard One” Handgun Foxtrot Legendary Blueprint!

Those wondering, the Guard One pistol looks exactly like Wesker’s Samurai Edge! We even whipped up a side-by-side comparison between the two, along with more images of the gun in Modern Warfare.

As one Reddit user puts it: “Yep. Stainless frame and barrel, black slide, wood grips but with a black inlay, and a gold emblem in the centre. It’s specifically Wesker’s at its core (not the regular version), however the compensator and extended mag are a nod to Burton’s 96FS version.”

This is definitely a nice touch by Infinity Ward, who it seems are Resident Evil fans themselves. And perfect timing too, as Resident Evil 3 Remake just got released last week.

Microsoft Will Continue Hosting Xbox Digital Events for the Remainder of the Year

Looks like Xbox digital events are here to stay, as Microsoft has revealed that it will continue to take a digital-first approach for the rest of this year and possibly next — and yes, this is due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

This news originally comes from an email being sent out to Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) users where it states that due to COVID-19, all internal and external events will be hosted digitally, up through July 2021.

This means that every department at Microsoft that had plans for an event will now broadcast them digitally, including the Xbox Division. A spokesperson also reached out to the guys over at PCGamer, to comment on this matter, though they didn’t specifically list when they plan on ending the digital-only events.

“In light of the challenges presented by Covid-19, we are adjusting our event calendar and strategy,” said a Microsoft spokesperson. “For the remainder of 2020 we are embracing the opportunity to experiment with new platforms to provide our partners, customers and developers the highest quality, digital-first experiences.”

Of course, these plans could very well change in the future, though that entirely depends on where we are at with the COVID-19 pandemic. We aren’t sure what exactly this means for E3 2021, considering the original end date is slated for after the annual event. Let’s just hope on the best option that this whole thing clears up by the end of the year. For now, look forward to any upcoming Xbox digital events.

Hunt Showdown Update 1.04 Slithers Out

Those playing Hunt: Showdown, you might want to start the game as you’ll be greeted by a new patch. Crytek has released Hunt Showdown update 1.04, and it’s a super small download. Clocking in at just 140MB on PS4, don’t expect any new content.

Crytek hasn’t released any official patch notes, other than the game itself stating the patch does this:

  • “This patch contains the following: *Fixed a number of game crash.”

Basically, that’s it. If you’ve yet to get the game, check out our review here, where we state “Hunt: Showdown is a very good game with a lot of neat features that can offer months of replayability to unlock everything.”

Once we get an official word from Crytek on any new gameplay changes this patch does, we’ll update the post. If you notice anything that got changed, let us know what they are down in the comments or send us an email.

PS5 Controller Headphone Jack Confirmed

In case you missed the big news yesterday, Sony has announced the new PlayStation 5 controller called the DualSense. While it features a hefty amount of new features and improvements over the DualShock 4, a question that many fans (including us) was: Does the PS5 controller feature a headphone jack? Well, thankfully the PS5 controller headphone jack is actually a thing!

This news was confirmed by PlayStation’s own product manager, Toshimasa Aoki, who said players can indeed continue with plugging their own headset directly into the controller.

A pretty useful feature, one that I have used myself in the past as it’s an easy way to have audio go wirelessly across a room. I’m glad they’re sticking with it, despite early images depicting it not to be there and this should definitely make fans happy. Of course, in addition to returning controller features, the DualSense also has a number of improvements. These range from better battery life, to more responsive buttons. A full list of known features can be found below, though keep in mind that this isn’t everything the controller has to offer.

The Dualsense Controller features:

  • New design, lightbar positioning relocated
  • Built-In Mic for voice commands and in-game communication
  • Share Button now replaced by what they are calling the “Create Button”. More Details on this later.
  • Haptic Feedback And Adaptive Triggers
  • Rechargeable Battery that is said to have a strong battery life
  • USB-C Port, which is quickly becoming the new standard USB type
  • Built-in audio jack for easy plug and play for headphones

We’ll be sure to keep you all posted on any new details around the PS5 Dualsense controller, and be on the lookout for an official PS5 console reveal, which should be happening within the coming months.

Modern Warfare Update April 8 Now Live; Here’s What’s New

As expected, Infinity Ward has released the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update April 8 patch! Clocking in at 12GB on PS4, this update includes gameplay and technical fixes for multiplayer, Spec Ops, and Call of Duty: Warzone.

Modern Warfare update April 8 patch notes:

GENERAL FIXES:

  • Lowered the max amount of XP and score given for Decoy Grenade assists
  • Backend fixes to help Memory Error 13-71 issues. If you’re still experiencing this error, please reach out to Activision Customer Support
  • Fixed a bug where more than one dog would be present in the squad walk in the main multiplayer menu
  • As an owner of a regiment, players could sometimes see an error when selecting another player in their regiment. This has been fixed
  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to skip cutscenes in the campaign while using keyboard and mouse controls
  • Fixed a bug where players were sometimes unable to see Clan Tags for other players in the Social Menu after restarting app, or going through a power cycle
  • Fixed an issue where some players could encounter graphical corruptions, causing their screen to have a black ‘shadow’ that followed them. This has been fixed
  • Fix for an area on St. Petrograd that lacked collision and allowed the Recon Drone to fly out of bounds
  • Fixed a bug that made clan tags appear twice
  • Fixed a bug that could prevent players from speaking to their team in a custom match if they switched teams after the match has started

AUDIO:

  • Lowered the volume of the plane audio during infil
  • Lowered the audio once you enter the Gulag
  • Reduced the volume of occluded far and distant weapons
  • Some footstep sounds while ADS and crouched were cut short on the distance you could hear them, depending on the surface type

WEAPONS:

  • Fixed an issue where “The Line Breaker” variant of the EBR could out perform the base version of the same weapon
  • Players with the “Cherry Blossom” variant of the Akimbo handguns could have broken animations while ADS on ladders. This has been fixed
  • Firing a smoke grenade with the under barrel 40mm smokescreen launcher did not emit any smoke from the grenade. This has been fixed
  • Attaching the Sniper Scope to the MK2 Carbine while in the Gunsmith would show a white, opaque lens. This has been fixed.
  • Tightened the pellet spread on the Slug 6-R Mags for the Model 680
  • Akimbo weapons now start with 2 extra magazines of ammunition instead of 1
  • Tightened up the hip spread on the VLK Rogue Shotgun
  • Decreased ADS spread for shotgun slugs
  • Added descriptions to slugs noting that longer barrels and chokes improve ADS accuracy
  • Updating names of weapons to match weapon logos
    • 725: “FTAC Equilibrium” renamed to “Cronen Equilibrium”
    • SA87: “FSS SA87 Heavy Stock Pro” renamed to “XRK SA87 Heavy Stock Pro”
    • RAM-7: “XRK Ranger” renamed to “FSS Ranger
    • Grau 5.56: “FSS 26.4″ Archangel” renamed to “Tempus 26.4″ Archangel”

SPECIAL OPERATIONS:

  • Added on screen text to call out when a player’s vehicle is damaged
  • Operation Headhunter: Fix for an error that could occur after launching the drone
  • Operation Headhunter: Fixed a bug where the minimap could overlap the Objectives on screen
  • Fall damage is now the same in Co-Op as it is in Warzone

WARZONE:

  • We now tell you how far away you are from your teammates while in a match
  • Fix for the gas mask animation interrupting and blocking players from deploying their parachute
  • Various exploit fixes
  • Fix for a bug where players were unable to revive teammates after getting interrupted during the initial revive animation
  • Fixed a bug where players could be killed by vehicles without being near the player
  • Fixed an issue that could display the incorrect rank on screen after the player’s game application had been suspended and reopened
  • Fixed an issue where deploying a Recon Drone would use the VO lines for a Personal Radar. That VO was also heard by all players on the map. This has been fixed
  • Fix for a bug where players could become invincible if they become downed while switching seats in a Tac Rover
  • While spectating a player in the Gulag, the option to redeploy your teammate would appear on screen, even though they cannot be redeployed. This has been fixed
  • If a player spectates the winning team of a BR match, the After-Action Report will display the winning team’s score in the scoreboard tab. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed a bug where placing a Shield Turret on a teammate could kill them

PLUNDER:

  • Fixed a bug where players couldn’t swap out the M13 for any other weapon in the Plunder tutorial

BATTLE ROYALE:

  • Fix for players unable to self-revive in Solos
  • Increased price of Loadout Drop within the Buy Station to $10,000
  • Removed Blood Splatter and Screen Shake when being punched in the Gulag waiting area
  • Removed Loss Column from BR Leaderboard and replaced with Top 10s
  • Fixed issue with final circles occurring out of bounds or in undesirable areas
  • Fixed issue with Armor plates and Killstreaks being unusable under certain conditions

PC:

  • Several fixes to prevent crashes and improve stability

Fortnite Update 2.66 Rolled Out

Epic Games has released what it calls a “maintenance patch” for Fortnite which has been deployed now, at the start of the game’s 2 a.m. ET maintenance period. While there’s no patch notes or list of fixes just yet. here’s what we know that’s in Fortnite update 2.66.

Clocking in at 1GB on PS4, here’s what we know of today’s Fortnite patch based off of reliable data miners.

Fortnite update 2.66 changes and info:

something got added: a new sort of LTM. “Now Playing” ”Just want to Risky & Chill? Hang out in Now Playing to catch the hourly screenings of Punk’d. Top of the hour, every hour.”

Yes, that seems to be the TV show Punk’d from over a decade ago. Aside from that, there seems to be a countdown of sorts added as well.

So the lobby got updated, and im ”ALMOST” sure that they added something of a countdown. Could be wrong… lets see when the servers are back up.

Other than that, it seems nothing substantial has been added for the update, which is kind of expected given this is a maintenance patch. Another Fortnite dataminer, also shared that they weren’t any new skins of the sort using a script.

If there are any gameplay fixes and whatnot that’s shared by Epic Games, we’ll be sure to update the post. We’ll be on the lookout for it within the day.

Modern Warfare Update 1.19 Patch Notes Released Ahead of Start of Season 3

With Infinity Ward ushering in Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, players can expect new maps, new gameplay changes, new weapons and more. While we already got the Season 3 roadmap earlier today, Infinity Ward has released the Modern Warfare update 1.19 patch notes ahead of the patch’s deployment.

The actual patch is set for April 8, 2020, and if past rollouts are any indication, it’ll be out at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET.

Modern Warfare update 1.19 patch notes:

GENERAL FIXES:

  • Lowered the max amount of XP and score given for Decoy Grenade assists
  • Backend fixes to help Memory Error 13-71 issues. If you’re still experiencing this error, please reach out to Activision Customer Support
  • Fixed a bug where more than one dog would be present in the squad walk in the main multiplayer menu
  • As an owner of a regiment, players could sometimes see an error when selecting another player in their regiment. This has been fixed
  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to skip cutscenes in the campaign while using keyboard and mouse controls
  • Fixed a bug where players were sometimes unable to see Clan Tags for other players in the Social Menu after restarting app, or going through a power cycle
  • Fixed an issue where some players could encounter graphical corruptions, causing their screen to have a black ‘shadow’ that followed them. This has been fixed
