A recent leak has unveiled exciting details about Marvel Rivals’ Season 1, hinting at new characters, team-ups, and features that could be part of the highly anticipated first season. The information, shared by leaker X0X_LEAK on X (formerly Twitter), highlights what players can expect in the coming weeks.

List of Characters Potentially Joining the Roster

marvel rivals characters

Here’s the list of characters rumored to arrive soon:

  • Captain Marvel
  • Emma Frost
  • Phoenix/Jean Grey
  • Modok

The leak also mentions future team-ups and maps. Notable collaborations include:

  • Wolverine X Phoenix
  • Wolverine X Magik X Psylocke X Black Panther (scrapped?)

In addition, the game may introduce iconic maps like Krakoa, Arakko, and New York, adding more variety to combat scenarios.

The leaker also teased the arrival of a new Ranked season, which could include Player Icons inspired by collaborations between Marvel Rivals and other Marvel games. Additionally, new loot boxes have been spotted earlier this week, potentially offering special rewards for players.

If these leaks are accurate, Season 1 looks set to deliver plenty of exciting content. Bear in mind, this is still unconfirmed, and were dug up based on datamined info. Fans must wait for official confirmation to see what’s in store.

In other Marvel Rivals news, NetEase is working on adding crossplay to Marvel Rivals, but a role queue feature doesn’t seem to be coming anytime soon. Marvel Rivals has also achieved a major milestone, reaching 20 million players in just two weeks.

Massive Halo Leak Uncovers 90GB of Data Covering Dev Builds, Tools, Docs, and Unreleased Content From Original Trilogy

[summaraize]

A large amount of Halo content has surfaced on the internet, as much of the data from 1998 to the very recent activities of Bungie has been leaked online.

It is suggested that the leaked data includes information dating back to 1998 when the developers had just released Myth II: Soulblighter and started working on Halo: Combat Evolved.

90GB of Halo Content Leaks Online

As first reported by VISCERAL on X (formelry Twitter), the leaked data contains approximately 90GB of information from the developers. It has been suggested that the leak occurred due to 343 Industries.

The video game developer had hired a group of modders to work on restoring cut scenes from the developers’ past games, but this inadvertently led to a significant data leak from the company.

The group of modders working on restoring the cut scenes was part of the Digsite Project, with one of the modders involved confirming that the project was real.

This suggests that the leak is legitimate and available for download on various platforms. However, proceed at your own risk, as the content is not secure and could pose privacy risks. If you still decide to download it, ensure you take all necessary precautions beforehand.

Earlier this year, 343 Industries was renamed Halo Studio and continues working on the next franchise installment. The developers have also confirmed that they will transition to Unreal Engine 5 to deliver an improved experience for fans.

In other news, reports revealed that Halo Battle Royale was real and had the potential to be a “game changer” for the franchise.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered Multiplayer Mod Takes Shape and Looks Solid So Far

[summaraize]

With Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered release on PC, it’s inevitable the community will make mods for the game. While we got your standard suit mods, there’s an on-going project that aims to add multiplayer to the superhero game.

The fan mod is headed by a group headed by Discord user LDD565, who has now released a trailer showcasing what they have planned with some early gameplay footage.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered Multiplayer Lets You Web Enemies Up With Friends

As one might expect, this is unofficial, and as such, don’t expect a smooth development period. This is a free mod that’s being made by the community, though you can support them with the project via Patreon and Ko-fi. Those who help support the cause with cash, you’ll be part of a closed beta period once the mod is closer to release. The mod has an official Discord channel up in case you want to keep track of progress.

Alongside the trailer, there’s also an FAQ about the mod available as well.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Multiplayer Mod FAQ

When is this mod coming out?
No release date as of yet,

is there PVP? (Can I fight my friends)
No, it currently isn’t a feature to fight other players in Multiplayer but it may get looked at in the future.

What is the Player Limit?
The Player Limit in Spider-Man Multiplayer is 16 players.

Is this a mod for MSM1 or MSM2?
This is a mod for MSM1, however we will look into porting to MSM2 once it releases.

Does the main story work?
Some main story missions do work but we’re working on free roam content currently and will look into main story more at a later date.

Do mods work?
Yes.

Can my friends see my mods?
Friends can see your suit mods so long as you both have the same suit mods installed. If you don’t then the person who doesn’t have the suit mod installed will not be able to see the person with the suit. Additionally if you use animation mods it’s better for all players to have it installed.

How long has this mod been under development?
This mod has been in development since August of 2024.

How does connecting to players work
You create a lobby and then other players can either join via a steam invite or you can add the hosts ip and join that way.

What platforms are supported
Steam and Epic Games Store version are the supported copies in which multiplayer will work in.

Are you affiliated with the unofficial Spider-Man 2 PC Port
No, we aren’t affiliated with the unofficial port nor do we condone talk about it in this server

Again, this is not an official project by Insomniac Games. As such, we want to warn people to be careful when installing unknown programs (now and in the future) and share any personal info. It’s better to be safe than sorry, after all.

Hopefully, the mod gets released soon, and Sony doesn’t sic their legal hounds on this project.

If you haven’t played Marvel’s Spider-Man, you might to change that, as it’s one of the best superhero games of all-time. My review of the original PS4 version states, “Make no mistake, this Spider-Man game is one mean action game even without the license, though it uses it to great effect, which puts the game from “good” to “excellent” all in one go. Simply put, Marvel’s Spider-Man is one neighborhood you’ll want to swing by, and be a part of.”

Palworld Patch 1.000.017 Out for December 25; Xenolord Raid Balance and Bug Fixes

[summaraize]

Pocketpair has released Palworld patch 1.000.017 (version v0.4.12), which addresses several recent bugs and makes some balancing adjustments to the Xenolord raid.  Here’s the lowdown on everything included in today’s Palworld update. As one might expect, this fixes issues brought on by the big Feybreak content drop from a few days ago.

Palworld Patch 1.000.017 Brings Bug Fixes and Tweaks to Xenolord Raid

The latest patch for Palworld is now live on  PlayStation 5 and PC, with the Xbox Series X|S patch arriving soon. Aside from the bug fixes, one of the big highlights is that this patch addresses an issue with the Lv 60 Xenolord Raid that made it more challenging than intended. That’s been addressed, along with a handful of other issues.

  • Fixed a bug where Pals would get stuck on oil rigs.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Bjorn and Bastagor to become staggered when attacked.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the player from selecting and summoning a Pal if another Pal was already summoned.
  • Corrected an issue with the Xenolord [Lv 60] raid being stronger than expected.
  • Corrected an issue that was causing summoned Pals to not perform lumbering work correctly.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing cooling work to produce too many effects and animations.
  • Fixed several crashes.
  • Other minor bug fixes.

That’s all for today’s Palworld update!

EA Cut Dead Space’s Marketing Budget to Pour Into Mirror’s Edge Due to Mock Review Scores

[summaraize]

While the Dead Space franchise has generally gotten good review scores, that wasn’t the case when publisher Electronic Arts (EA) screened the game to mock reviewers way back then, especially when compared to DICE’s first-person parkour action game Mirror’s Edge.

This comparison is also why Dead Space’s marketing budget wasn’t something befitting a AAA game release. According to Bret Robbins, the game director of the original Dead Space game, EA decided to prioritize their marketing budget on Mirror’s Edge, given it reviewed better than Dead Space when it came to mock reviews, which publishers usually do to gauge the potential score — and commercial success — of in-development games.

EA’s Mock Review Scores for Mirror’e Edge Were Significantly Better Than Dead Space’s

In a video interview, Robbins  explains how mock reviews pegged Dead Space as a game that would get 70-ish review scores, while Mirror’s Edge was estimated to get scores of 90.

They actually cut our marketing budget…and Mirror’s Edge got it all. We were releasing about the same time, and they were trying to figure out the budget for that launch window. And they did all these internal tests or whatever. Like Metacritic analysis, like mock scores, and they had Mirror’s Edge at a 90 and Dead Space at 70.  They had Dead Space at a 7u and this is internally and this is right before, like, a couple of months before we ship. They weren’t looking at an unfinished game; we were almost done, and they thought we were going to be like a 72, and they slashed our marketing budget, and they doubled down on Mirror’s Edge.  Mirror’s Edge did well, it was like in the 80’s, but we ended up with a 90.

I actually think it may have helped us because we became …we’re such a good game that didn’t have a lot of marketing, telling everyone we’re going to be the best game ever people discovered it on their own. Sort of like, a word-of-mouth cult following that really quickly generated like, “have you heard this thing?”

It’s not like Mirror’s Edge turned out bad, as DICE’s parkour-focused game sprinted out of the gate with solid review scores due to its fast-paced movement that was unique at the time. Currently, Mirror’s Edge has a Metacritic score of 81, while the original Dead Space settled at an 89 average. Interestingly enough, the Dead Space remake has also been received well, as it’s currently at a 90 average on Metacritic.

Since its release in 2008, Mirror’s Edge received a sequel eight years later in June 2016. Dead Space, meanwhile, got a sequel in 2011, followed by the third and last mainline entry in the franchise in 2013. Motive Studio, an internal first-party development house, released the Dead Space remake last year to critical praise. No word yet on whether we’ll be seeing Dead Space.

In the same interview, former Visceral Games boss Glen Schofield revealed they approached EA to pitch Dead Space 4, which the publisher declined.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Update 1.44 Mysteriously Drops During Christmas

[summaraize]

It looks like the developers at Dimps aren’t taking a day off, as Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 update 1.44 on PS4/XB1 (version 1.002.002 on PS5/XSX) is now out. This is an unannounced patch, and there’s no DLC announced set to drop today, so temper those expectations. While Christmas isn’t as big a deal in Japan as it is in other countries, it’s still odd to see a patch drop on Christmas Eve (Christmas Day for non-US people).

DB Xenoverse 2 Gets a Surprise Patch on Christmas

No word on what this patch does from Bandai Namco Entertainment just yet. On the PS4 side, the update history only states, “Made other improvements/adjustments” which is what the developers usually state there regardless of the patch contents.

For now, even the community is baffled what’s in the patch, and we’re hoping it’s something PS5 Pro-related, but given it’s also on last-gen platforms, it’s most likely one connected to bug fixes and maybe balance changes.

Last month, players got an update that raised the level cap, added custom clothes and more. Here’s a recap of the major update and DLC released last month.

New Fighters and Content in November Update

  • Jiren・Ultra Supervillain
  • God of Destruction Belmod
  • Goku (Mini) from “Dragon Ball DAIMA
  • Seven (7) New skills
  • Four (4) New parallel quests
  • Two (2) New costumes and accessories
  • 14 New loading screen illustrations

We are looking for any changes and new content implemented with the today’s title update. Once we know more, we’ll add it to the article. If you spot anything. leave a comment below and let us know.

EA Rejected Dead Space 4 Pitch From Former Franchise Creator

[summaraize]

While publisher Electronic Arts (EA) greenlit the Dead Space remake from Motive Studio, there’s no word on whether we’ll get a remake of the second game or a new game for the franchise. Even if EA is silent on the matter, one person isn’t, and it’s former franchise creator Glen Schofield.

For those unaware, Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, are credited for creating the Dead Space franchise back when they ran Visceral Games (formerly EA Redwood Shores) at Electronic Arts. Visceral Games developed the Dead Space trilogy, with the third game in the entry being the last and often seen as the weakest link in the trilogy.

Since then, Schofield led Striking Distance Studios for Krafton, and the development house’s debut game, The Callisto Protocol, was seen as the spiritual successor of the Dead Space franchise. Unfortunately, the game failed to do well commercially and critically, which led to Schofield’s departure from the studio.

Glen Schofield Wanted to Developer Dead Space 4

dead space 180 turn

While The Callisto Protocol didn’t meet expectations, Schofield is still interested in continuing the Dead Space franchise. In a video chat with YouTube channel Dan Allen Gaming, Schofield revealed that he, along with a few other Dead Space vets, pitched Dead Space 4 to EA this year.

We tried actually, you know, the three of us. All three of us sat there. I mean, we’re talking this year. We didn’t go too deep; they just said, “we’re not interested right now, we appreciate it blah blah blah.” We know how to talk to, so we didn’t go take it any further, and we respected their opinion, you know, they know their numbers and what they have to ship and all that.

Christopher Stone, one of the devs who worked on the Dead Space franchise was also being interviewed, and added, “The industry is in a weird place right now; people re really hesitant to take chances on things, so you got, y’know, take it with a grain of salt. Who knows? Maybe one day. We’d all love to do it (make Dead Space 4).”

Remember that this doesn’t mean that EA isn’t or is not planning on developing Dead Space 4. Rather, it’s the publisher saying no to the former devs creating the next installment in the franchise. I can’t say I’m surprised. If EA wants to make another entry in the Dead Space series, they most likely will tap first-party studio Motive to do it rather than have a team of outsiders.

While the Dead Space remake reviewed quite well, EA hasn’t said anything about a follow-up remake or an all-new entry in the franchise. Our review of it was very impressed with Motive’s effort, stating, “Motive has resurrected the franchise and with style! Dead Space 2023 is a fantastic way to start the year for horror fans, and is one indoctrination worth experiencing.”

EA Shuts Down Rumors of the Dead Space Remake Sales Not Doing Well

In a report earlier this year, EA debunked claims that Motive was working on a remake of Dead Space 2 remake, and was asked to pivot away from the project since the first one didn’t do well commercially. EA sent a statement out to press, stating, “We don’t normally comment on rumors but there is no validity to this story.”

Hopefully, we get a chance to see a Dead Space 2 remake, and then maybe a reworked third one, so we can finally move on to the next Dead Space game. One can hope, right?

While we won’t be getting a new Dead Space game anytime soon, a sci-fi horror game is currently being developed, and it’s Cronos: The New Dawn, which Bloober Team is making. Bloober developed the excellent Silent Hill 2 remake, which was released a few months ago.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Update 1.003 Now Available

[summaraize]

Final Fantasy 7 Remake update 1.003 is now out on PlayStation 5 and PC! This is a minor update, meaning you shouldn’t expect any new features.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Update 1.003 Sadly Doesn’t Introduce PS5 Pro Support

Despite its sequel, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, receiving official PS5 Pro support, Square Enix isn’t planning to add support for the first part of the remake trilogy. At least, not with this surprise update, as the studio confirmed that it’s simply for fixes relating to the DualSense controller.

I know—it was wishful thinking on our part to hope we’d get PS5 Pro support. It doesn’t help that this update dropped on Christmas Eve, which could have made for a surprise gift for fans. Oh well, there’s always next time, though we’re starting to think the first game won’t receive any PS5 Pro enhancements like its sequel. Only time will tell time.

Oh, and in case you haven’t heard, the PC version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is arriving next month! It will be available on Steam and Epic Games Store starting January 23.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Update 1.080 Brings DualSense Fixes

[summaraize]

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth update 1.080 is now available to download, but don’t expect anything significant, as this update addresses some known issues with the DualSense features. Here are the patch notes for today’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth update.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Update 1.080 Fixes Vibrations

According to Square Enix, this update is a minor one, addressing some vibration issues that the DualSense was experiencing in-game where the controller would not vibrate.

This update does not include anything else, which isn’t surprising considering the game received its big PS5 Pro enhancement update just last month. We do anticipate that more updates will be dropping soon, especially with the PC version arriving this January. Otherwise, that’s all there is in this update!

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be available on Steam and Epic Games Store starting January 23. Preorders are now live on both platforms, with a special 30% off promo running up until release. For those who preorder, you’ll also be given a few bonuses, those being the Moogle summon, and two pieces of armor.

Phasmophobia Update 1.000.006 for Patch 0.11.1.1 Fixes Winter’s Jest Issues

[summaraize]

Two weeks ago, Kinetic Games rolled out the Winter’s Jest event for Phasmophobia where the studio also promised another patch is due for release later in December. With Christmas just two days away, the studio has released Phasmophobia update 1.000.006 on all platforms.

Players on PC should see this patch as v0.11.1.1, and it includes the same list of fixes for Winter’s Jest. There are also known issues that have been acknowledged by the studio, which should be fixed in another patch out next year.

Phasmophobia’s New Update Adds Global Leaderboard for Steam Version

Oddly enough, the global leaderboard is only available on the PC version of the game, as Kinetic Games cites “technical issues” as the reason it’s not out on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Check out the list of fixes below.

New

  • Steam only: Added a global leaderboard to track player’s event progress. This will display the Top 10 players across the world.

    • Note: Steam players will be able to see PlayStation and Xbox players on the leaderboard. Due to technical issues, the leaderboard is unavailable on console.

Changes

  • Added lights to the tinsel and adjusted Warehouse decorations.

  • The weekly and daily tasks will now reset when the event starts and ends, instead of carrying over non-event progression.

Known Issues

  • When using ‘Random Map’ and you start a hunt on one of the Winter’s Jest maps, the weather will also be set to random.

  • Some player names will not be displayed on the leaderboard due to having unsupported characters in the name.

Fixes

All Platforms:

  • Fixed several issues that were causing snow to clip on Event Maps.

  • Fixed an issue where a wreath was blocking the fuse box in Bleasdale. This wreath has been removed.

  • Fixed an issue that was causing Blood Moon weather to happen to select players in a group, rather than all players. Now, if the Host gets Blood Moon weather, all players will.

Xbox Series/PlayStation:

  • Fixed an issue preventing players from being able to receive the seasonal daily and weekly tasks.

The studio also mentions that a future update will slot in an additional leaderboard showing the player’s current position. No word yet on when we’ll see it, but chances are, it’ll be out sometime in January, once the holidays are over.

  • Fixed a few ACCESS VIOLATION ERROR crashes.
  • Fixed an issue when invert axis options could not be saved after restarting the game.
  • Fixed an issue when controls could be lost after shooting, reloading and then examining the artifact.

Stalker 2 Upcoming Update

The big 1.1 patch was released last week, and housed over 1,800 fixes and improvements. The 1.1.2 update then followed it up by slotting in more fixes listed below:

  • Fixed some issues with shader compilation being stuck, leading to infinite wait time or crash.
  • Fixed some issues with loading saves.
  • Fixed a crash, that occurred during exiting the game
  • Added the functionality of back-up saves, that will be saved and stored automatically and last for 4 days (For PC only).

Guilty Gear Strive Update 1.43 Out for Team of 3 Mode Fixes This Dec. 23

[summaraize]

Arc System Works has released Guilty Gear Strive update 1.43 (PS5 version 1.043) today for various fixes and gameplay balancing. One such issue that has been fixed is stopping players from freezing after a TEAM OF 3 Player Match mode. Check out the patch notes down below.

Guilty Gear Strive Update 1.43 Includes Balance Changes and Bug Fixes

TEAM OF 3 Mode

・We’ve alleviated the issue where it was impossible to move for a long time when returning to the room after matching in TEAM OF 3 Player Match mode.
・Fixed an issue causing unintended behavior as it was possible to recover health and Burst Gauge via Assist Skills when health reaches 0 or time runs out.

Online Mode

・Fixed an issue causing only Standard rooms to appear in the search results in non-Team of 3 Player Matches, regardless of the search options selected.

Mission Mode

・Fixed an issue causing the mission not to register as completed when performed with simplified inputs for practice and combo missions.
・Fixed other minor issues with missions.

Training Mode

・Fixed an issue causing the Training Mode damage display to show incorrect information under certain circumstances.
・Removed the entry for “Bit Shift Metron (Level 5 Start)” from Asuka’s Character Specific settings in Training Mode.

Other

・Corrected the description for Asuka’s “Bit Shift Metron” in the Command List.
・Fixed other minor issues and visual problems.

・For battle-related issue fixes, please refer to the battle balance adjustment section.
For some intentional mechanics, a gap in communication has led to confusion. Please see the explanation below to clarify some inquiries we’ve received.

■ The 51st hit of Goldlewis’ Skyfish
As a universal battle mechanic, Psych Burst cannot be used against moves that always trigger Wall Break when reaching the corner regardless of the Wall Break value on hit. This is intended behavior for the final hit of Skyfish when at maximum Security Level as well.

The same applies to other moves that always trigger Wall Break: Psych Burst cannot be used against moves such as the clean hit of Faust’s Hole-in-One! and the final hit of Potemkin’s Heat Knuckle. However, as Skyfish does not have the same visual effect for the final hit as these moves and there was not an explanation provided for this property, this led to confusion among players.

While this is intended behavior, there is potential for the properties or effect to change in future updates. We will continue to take your feedback seriously into account as we seek to improve the game.

■ Duration for Negative Penalty trigger
Previously, there was an issue in the game that paused updates to the internal Negative value and Tension Balance calculations if no input at all was performed for 6 continuous seconds while it is possible for both the player and opponent character to perform inputs (any state outside of cut-in animations).

Due to the conditions to trigger this issue, it would not occur in an actual match unless both players intentionally decided not to make any inputs. Even if it did occur, it would not last permanently as well, so we carefully considered when we would fix the issue. In the previous update, we fixed this issue out of concern for the potential that it could have some sort of impact on other game mechanics.

It is currently corrected so that even when 6 or more seconds pass without any inputs performed, the Negative value and Tension Balance are constantly updated. While no change has been made to the time required to trigger Negative Penalty, especially in Training Mode where it is common to take breaks from playing, it may feel as if it works differently from before in some instances.

Battle Related

・Updated the Battle Version from Ver. 4.01 to Ver. 4.02.
・See below for details on the battle balance adjustments.

・See below for details on the battle balance adjustments.

We will let our readers know when the next Guilty Gear Strive update is out.

[summaraize]

Just two days before Christmas, Ubisoft has released Skull and Bones update 1.000.024 today for various gameplay improvements. One issue that has been fixed is a target ship not spawning during a specific mission. Combat is another area that has been addressed. Check out the patch notes down below.

Skull and Bones Update 1.000.024 Addresses Bug Fixes and More

Improvements and Bug Fixes

-Fixed an issue where players are unable to progress in the Helm initiation contracts as there are no contracts offered by Yanita.
-Fixed an issue where Yanita was not interactable while the player attempted to submit the contract, “Taking the Helm”.
-Fixed an issue where the target ship did not spawn while the contract “Brokered Ground” was active.

We are still working on the final remaining identified issues which will come in a future patch. However, we aim to release any fixes, such as this one, as soon as they are ready.

World Events

– Fixed an issue where the Spectral Defense ends prematurely as a successful defense without providing reward.

The Witcher 4 to Feature Romance Options; CDPR Aims to Make It “Super Compelling” and “Very Meaningful”

[summaraize]

To no one’s surprise, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that in The Witcher 4, there will be romance options for Ciri. CDPR has included this feature in their games since the first The Witcher game was released in 2007.

Ciri Will Have a Love Interest (or Interests) in The Witcher 4

As revealed in a recent interview by GameSpot with Game Director Sebastian Kalemba, and Executive Producer Małgorzata Mitręga, Ciri, the new protagonist taking over for Geralt, will indeed have a love interest. Here’s what each of them had to say when asked if The Witcher 4 will have any romance:

Sebastian Kalemba: Absolutely. It’s a part of the way we make games. It is a part of human nature. It’s a very normal thing. Without that I think we wouldn’t be able to tell the very full story.

Małgorzata Mitręga: It’s an important part of life.

Sebastian Kalemba: But as always, we want to pay a lot of attention to it and make it super compelling and very meaningful. So it’s not just to make a romance for the sake of making a romance. That’s not the CDPR way.

It’s unclear if this refers to optional romances or a single one that occurs throughout the game, but given CDPR’s track record in previous games, we’ll likely see multiple and optional love interests for Ciri. These romance options will likely play a critical role in the game’s central plot, too, and if it’s anything like Cybperunk 2077 was, it will likely tie in toward the game’s endings, too.

Currently, The Witcher 4 has no release date, and there are no confirmed platforms other than PC. Though it’s likely aiming to arrive on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the reveal trailer did confirm that it was running on a yet-to-be-revealed NVIDIA GPU. All signs indicate that GPU is one of the RTX 5000 series cards expected to be revealed next month.

In terms of game size, CD Projekt RED confirmed that The Witcher 4 map size and amount of quests are “more or less” the same as The Witcher 3.
