Gran Turismo 7 Next Update Out This Coming Week, Brings New Vehicles

Racing fans looking for the next content drop for Gran Turismo 7, the wait won’t be long now, as Polyphony Digital has announced that the Gran Turismo 7 next update is set for release this coming week, and it’ll bring in new vehicles once again.

The announcement was made by Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi over on Twitter, where it was once again accompanied by a silhouette of three cars that are inbound with the update.

Those interested in what the three cars are, the top one with the huge rear spoiler is the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak, which is based on the Grand Vitara model (called the Escudo in Japan). The second car seems to be the Gr. 3 version of the Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo, with the third car most likely a convertible-bodied version of the 1932 Ford.

No word on whether this update will introduce new tracks, but chances are, aside from the new vehicles, players can expect a host of gameplay-related improvements as well.

While there’s no date for when the patch will be released, it’ll most likely be Wednesda or Thursday given when Polyphony Digital releases their title updates. Same as always, once it’s out, expect it up on MP1st! Make sure to bookmark our GT7 game hub for the latest news and patches for the game.

Thanks, GTPlanet!

  • Side-Scrolling Hack and Slash: Chain together lethal attack combos with your sword and an array of explosive ordinance while leaping, sprinting, and flipping your way through a grim biopunk world

  • Stunning Set Pieces: Conquer mini-bosses and climactic archvillains in unforgettable combat sequences

  • Action-Packed Heroic Missions: Battle your way through massive levels, mazes, and boss-rushes in a dynamic 2.5D world

Here’s an Evil Dead The Game Castle Kandar Map Sneak Peek, “Larger” Patch Coming This Summer

Last week, Saber Interactive announced that a Evil Dead The Game will be getting free DLC in the form of Castle Kandar from Army of Darkness. While there’s no release date for the DLC just yet, Saber has given players an Evil Dead The Game Castle Kandar map sneak peek!

Check out the two images of the new map, which will be FREE for all Evil Dead The Game players! It seems the patch housing this map will be called the “Army of Darkness Update,” which is fitting given the map being dished out.

Alongside the free map, Saber Interactive has also announced that a “larger patch” is inbound this summer!

Note that the “larger” wording is in reference to the patches released s far, with the latest one rolled out on June 14, and included a short list of improvements.

In case you haven’t played the game yet, go read our review here where we state, “It’s ultimately more fun with friends, but only really if they’re also into Evil Dead as a franchise. And even then, references and nostalgia can only get you so far. Ultimately, Evil Dead the Game can be improved by patches and I’ll be happy to return to it when it is improved. As for now, I’ll stick with my film collection for my Evil Dead fix.”

Battlefield 2042 Whale Penguin Easter Egg Secretly Added in Season 1 Update

The Battlefield franchise is no stranger to Easter eggs, and it seems DICE has snuck in a new one in Battlefield 2042 when it rolled out the Season 1: Zero Hour title update! There’s now a new Battlefield 2042 whale penguin Easter egg in the game that has surfaced alongside the other penguins!

Check out a video of it below, where we see the whale penguin (from what I know is also called an orca) can be seen surfacing and then diving into the snow!

Over on Twitter, DICE developer Niklas Astrand has acknowledged the Easter egg and even gave the animal the name of Lars!

For more on Battlefield Easter eggs, go check this one from Battlefield 5 where a Bad Company 2 Easter egg can be heard! We also posted one about a Battlefield Easter eggs compilation, which features recurring secrets!

If you spot any Battlefield Easter eggs in BF2042, send as an email (tips@mp1st.com) and we’ll be sure to credit you for the find.

If you still haven’t given Season 1: Zero Hour a try, you might want to do it, as our review is hopeful for the game’s turnaround given Season 1 is a step in the right direction.

Rumor: PS5 Pro Controller in the Works, Will Feature Back Buttons, Removeable Analog Sticks

A new leak claims that PlayStation will be releasing a new PS5 Pro controller sometime soon. While many fans are still having a hard time even getting their hands on a PlayStation 5, the new controller seems to be trying to appeal to the most serious of PlayStation gamers that want a more customizable controller.

The leak comes from the credible leaker Tom Henderson, who is well known for leaking information about Battlefield and Call of Duty. The leak also seems believable as Xbox has supported its successful line of pro controllers for a few years now while PlayStation players have had to opt for third-party options. So, it seems logical that Sony would want to get a foot in that market with its own first-party pro controller.

The details of the leak also paint a believable picture that seems relatively standard for a pro controller. According to Tom Henderson, the details come from an image the leaker sent under the condition that the image not be shown. The article claims that the controller features paddles on the back that can be programmed to different inputs, which has become a pretty popular feature for controllers in recent years.

Henderson claims that the leaked image also reveals the controller will feature removable grips to make the controller easier to hold, unspecified software updates, and removable analog sticks that will make it so players only have to buy new analog sticks if theirs begin to drift.

Rumors have circulated about Sony announcing new hardware later this month, so it seems likely that fans will get their first official look at the new controller soon. However, you should take the information with a grain of salt since it is still just a rumor that has yet to be officially confirmed.

Overwatch 2 Mythic Skins Unveiled, Blizzard Pushes Out Beta FAQ

During a dedicated Overwatch 2 livestream, Blizzard Entertainment gave fans a look at some of what they can expect from the sequel. While this included information about its upcoming beta, it also included information about new Overwatch 2 mythic skins as well as following up the stream with an FAQ regarding the upcoming beta.

Skins play a big role in Overwatch as players try to earn them through loot boxes to customize their favorite heroes and stick out on the battlefield. However, Overwatch 2 will no longer feature loot boxes, and will instead have seasonal battle passes with an in-game store like many other free-to-play titles.

Alongside the new progression system, Blizzard announced a new rarity of skins known as mythic skins. A preview of Overwatch 2 mythic skins was then tweeted out by the developers to show what players can expect from them.

Blizzard also followed this up with a frequently asked questions post regarding its newest beta. The questions and answers posted can be found below:

Q. I had access to the first Overwatch 2 PVP Beta, will I automatically roll over to the next beta as well?
A. Beta access does not roll over from the previous Overwatch 2 PvP Beta. For the upcoming beta, our main goal is to test our console and cross-play capabilities as we scale up server testing slowly. Because of this, we need to select players based in part on their platform choice, so we’re launching a new opt-in process which tracks player platform preference.

Q. How do I get access to the Overwatch 2 Beta?
A. The new opt-in web form is now available on PlayOverwatch.com/beta is slated to stay open until June 28 unless we hit our projected maximum server capacity earlier. We’ll select a small group of players when the beta goes live on June 28 at 11:00 AM PDT and will steadily add more players over time as we ramp up capacity, with the first waves of larger access grants planned to begin on July 5.

Our goal is to provide access to ALL players that opt-in to the beta by no later than July 14.

Players who purchase the Overwatch 2: Watchpoint Pack on a platform on which the beta is available will be granted immediate beta access as soon as the Overwatch 2 Beta launches on June 28 at 11:00 AM PT, or whenever the Watchpoint Pack is purchased after the Beta kicks off.

Please note that if you are playing on a PlayStation device and opting in through our website, you will need to select the region in which your PlayStation Network account was created. If you do not select the correct region, you will not be granted access.

Q. Do I need to opt-in for the next beta if I opted in for the first?
A. Yes, all players will need to opt-in for the next beta regardless of their opt-in status from the first beta.

Q. On what platforms will the beta be available?
A. The beta will test Overwatch 2 on PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles on all regions except China, Russia, and Belarus. Actual platform availability, launch date(s), and duration of Overwatch® 2 Beta subject to change.

Q. How are beta participants selected from the opt-in pool?
A. Beta participants are chosen from our Overwatch beta opt-in pool based on a variety of factors. This can include, but is not limited to, your Battle.net region and the platform for which you are opting-in. We’ll also be inviting select journalists and community contributors from around the world to participate.

Q. How will I know if I’m selected to participate in the beta?
A. Players who are selected through our web opt-in process will receive an invite via email. Invites will always be sent to the email address associated with your Battle.net account.

Q. Will any progress I make during the beta carry over to the live game?
A. No, progress made during this beta will not carry over to the live game.

Q. Will Mac users be able to participate in the beta?
A. We’re developing Overwatch 2 for Windows-based PCs only.

Q. What are the PC system requirements for the Overwatch 2 Beta?
A. Check out the PC requirements below:

Diablo 4 Level Cap And Game Length Revealed

Diablo fans were given a look at the upcoming Diablo 4 in action at the Xbox Bethesda Games Showcase. Now, the game’s director, Joe Shely has revealed in an interview with Gamespot how long players can expect the main questline to take them as well as the Diablo 4 level cap.

In the interview, Shaly confirmed that the developers expect reaching the end of the main story to take players roughly 35 hours. This is quite a bit longer than Diablo 3 which usually takes around 20 hours while it is similar to Diablo 2, which takes about the same time. Shely also said that by the time players finish the story they will be around level 45, but that is far from the end.

In fact, Shely confirms in the interview that the level cap in Diablo 4 is a whopping level 100. Even then, reaching the level cap is far from the end of the game, as Diablo 4 has been confirmed to have an extensive end game to keep players engaged for much longer than just the main story quests.

The news of the Diablo 4’s length seems like good news for Diablo fans. It will be interesting to see even more about what players can expect from the game leading up to its release.

Diablo 4 releases in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Square Enix held a broadcast today celebrating the 25-year anniversary of the iconic Final Fantasy 7. While there were numerous announcements from the show worth paying attention to, including the second part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, one surprise announcement for dedicated fans was of Crisis Core -Final Fantasy 7- Reunion.

The game is a remake of the Final Fantasy 7 prequel that was originally released for the PSP. The remake includes a complete overhaul of the game’s graphics, bringing it more in line with the remake trilogy, as well as redone music that iterates on the original’s score.

There are also notes throughout the trailer from the game’s story, showing its connection to the main Final Fantasy 7. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Devs Issue Statements on Development, Designed So Newcomers Can Enjoy the Game

In case you didn’t know, Square Enix just announced the second part of the highly regarded Final Fantasy 7 Remake titled “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
during today’s Final Fantasy 7 25th Anniversary event. While we just got a new trailer and know it’s set for release next winter, the dev team has issued a statement regarding the game’s development.

Over on Twitter, Tetsuya Nomura (Creative Director), Naoki Hamaguchi (Director), and Yoshinori Kitase (Producer) all said something about the game’s development, and acknowledged the fan base’s long wait for follow up to FF7 Remake.

We’ve written down each dev’s statement for an easier read.

We have officially announced that the second title FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH will be released next winter, approximately three years after the original FINAL FANTASY VIL REMAKE released in April 2020.

Three years may feel like a long time for all the fans who are eagerly awaiting the next game, but we want to offer the best experience possible and reassure everyone that development is proceeding at an astonishingly fast pace for such a large-scale HD title.

Making the middle part of a trilogy has its own challenges, but there are plenty of classic second installments in the world of film that are defined by stunning story twists and deeper explorations of their characters. Often these second installments become a favorite amongst the fans.

In the same vein, we are aiming to make FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH an even more gripping and memorable experience than FINAL FANTASY VIL REMAKE, so please wait a little longer while we finish up.

Yoshinori Kitase
Producer

I am overjoyed that we are able to announce FINAL FANTASY VUI REBIRTH and I feel a strong sense of duty to deliver the ultimate FINAL FANTASY VIl experience to all the fans eagerly awaiting this game.

The development has already entered full production and the team is highly motivated in putting everything together on the project and working to create a finished game.

The FINAL FANTASY VII remake project will be a three-part trilogy, but FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH is much more than just one installment in the series. We are developing it with all of the passion and dedication needed to create an original game and plan to deliver the ultimate gameplay and world building experience.

Trust me, it will be worth the wait!

Naoki Hamaguchi
Director

As revealed on the broadcast, there are currently four FINAL FANTASY VII projects being developed in parallel. Although each of the four titles plays a different role, they are all connected through the high-quality depictions of FINAL FANTASY VII’S world and characters. As someone who was involved with the development of each and every one of the original titles, I deeply understand the vision and thoughts behind each project, and I am actively involved in the development process for all four titles.

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH is being designed so that people can enjoy this game whether they know the original game or not. In fact, new players might even enjoy starting their FINAL FANTASY VII journey with FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH. Cloud and his friends embark on a new journey in this game, and I believe that the scenes that they witness after leaving Midgar will give players a fresh, new experience.

Tetsuya Nomura

Creative Director

Hopefully, we get more gameplay and details for the game before the year is out. For those eagerly waiting for Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s follow up chapter, this iwll be a long wait. Let’s hope it doesn’t get delayed.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Announced 10 Years Later

Dragon’s Dogma is a cult-classic fantasy RPG that was originally released in 2012 by Capcom. It blended an open-world high fantasy world with unique action-focused combat inspired by games like the Street Fighter series. Today, a stream was held to celebrate the game’s 10-year anniversary, hosted by the game’s creator, Hideaki Itsuno. At the end of the stream, Itsuno announced that Dragon’s Dogma 2 has begun development.

Fans of the first Dragon’s Dogma have been very vocal about their hopes for a Dragon’s Dogma 2, but its announcement still comes as a surprise since it is so long after the original’s release, especially after the game’s absence at Capcom’s recent live stream.

Despite the announcement, Capcom has not released any other information about the game apart from its official logo. It would have been great to see the game in action or even a screenshot, but fans will just have to wait to see how Dragon’s Dogma’s combat and innovative pawn system may be evolved in the sequel. Hopefully, fans will get some more news of Dragon’s Dogma 2 soon, but even a confirmation of it entering development is undeniably exciting.
