Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 PS5 Has Been Delayed, First DLC Map Free for Everyone

PlayStation fans of the tactical shooting Sniper Ghost Warrior games will have to wait just a bit longer for the next installment in the series, as CI Games has announced that Sniper Ghost Warror Contracts 2 PS5 version has been delayed — offering the first DLC map free of charge to everyone as a way to make up for that.

Here’s the whole explanation from the team on why they had to make the tough call to delay.

“We could not have foreseen these issues. However, we would like to assure our players that our highly experienced, professional and dedicated team are working hard with the platform holder and engine provider to resolve the problems as soon as feasibly possible, to ensure we can bring the PS5 community the high calibre sniping game they have been waiting for. We will offer a free digital upgrade to the PS5 version with all physical and digital purchases of the PS4 release.” – Tobias Heussner, EP, CI Games
As a way to apologize for this delay, CI Games has decided to make the first major DLC release for the game free across all versions — complete with extensive contracts and a new extensive map. Details on that will be coming soon as well.
Again while the PS5 port for Sniper Ghost Warrior Contacts 2 will be delayed, the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions will still make their June 4 release date.

Lost Judgement Launches Globally on September 24, Steel Book Edition and Price Revealed

Get ready to return to the world of Judgement and play another amazing Japanese action RPG experience, as Sega and Ryu ga Gotoku Studio has announced that Lost Judgement launches globally on September 24 – with a trailer, pricing and steel book edition revealed as well!

Here’s the first footage of the sequel featuring the return of Takayuki Yagami!

Picking up where the last game left off, Yagami deals with the repercussions of a guilty verdict that was handed down in Japanese court. As a result, our hero will have to go undercover and get to the bottom of things personally — including exploring a high school setting where all kinds of story elements will come into play. The adventure will take place in Kamurucho Tokyo and Yokohama, and much like the Yakuza series, this spin-off game will be a blend of story drama, exploration, fighting, and mini games – so expect your hands to be full and plenty of things to do and see.

Here’s how the steel book edition (exclusive to Bestbuy) of the game looks as well.

According to Bestbuy, the retail MSRP is $60, which should make people happy seeing that it isn’t following the $70 trend that some games are moving to.

Check out our review of Judgement and see why that game was great and why this upcoming sequel is very much a welcome sight.

Lost Judgement will be out across the globe for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One on September 24.

New Call of Duty Warzone Update May 7 Brings Weapon Balance Adjustments

Raven Software has deployed the new Call of Duty Warzone update May 7 server-side (game settings update) patch, and it includes quite a number of weapon balance changes! Head on for the May 7 patch notes below.

New Call of Duty Warzone Update May 7 Patch Notes:

GAMEPLAY

  • Loot that spawns across both Verdansk and Rebirth Island has been adjusted as follows…
    • Streetsweeper
      • Common variant removed from ground loot
      • Uncommon variant removed from ground loot
      • Rare variant removed from Supply Boxes
      • Epic variant removed from Supply Boxes
    • Hauer 77
      • Common variant added to ground loot
      • Uncommon variant added to ground loot
      • Rare variant added to Supply Boxes
    • The Streetsweeper’s wide availability fostered a dynamic where passive play was incentivized and rewarded. We do not think this type of play is particularly compelling for either party when players do not have the necessary tools in the early-game to effectively counter it.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed additional map locations in Verdansk that allowed players to reach out-of-bounds areas. This is on top of the locations that we addressed last week.
  • Fixed a bug causing Player models to initially load as low resolution at the start of a BR match.
  • Fixed a bug with the Cold War AK-47, FARA 83, XM4, and RPD where they were having their ADS Move Speed and Firing Move Speeds decreased with the Tactical and SAS Combat/Spetsnaz Stocks rather than increased.

WEAPONS

We would like to preface the following Weapon changes by providing you with some insight on our thought process.

There are millions of you, and when we reduce the effectiveness of a weapon, we are bound to make a change to someone’s favorite gun. As players of this game ourselves, it pains us just as much. However, we remain torn. We are the custodians of this game—we make it for you. In the same light, we are charged with maintaining the health and integrity of the game. In some instances, this requires us to reduce the effectiveness of some universally cherished weapons. When we make a change like this, our intent is the promotion of diversity. We believe what makes a game truly engaging is choice. When we diminish that choice, we take away the agency to play the game your way. This can happen when a weapon becomes so effective that simply not utilizing it puts you at a disadvantage.

With that being said, we feel we are close to a ‘balance homeostasis’ where most options are at the very least viable. Which leaves us to address Time to Kill. The following balance changes are part of our ongoing efforts to raise TTK or at least the individual skill required to reach extreme ones. We ask that you consider these changes not as targeted attacks, but rather as part of a larger initiative to raise the skill ceiling.

We want to give you the runway and the platform to show us your epic plays and proudest moments. We hope that journey of mastery brings you as much enjoyment as it does us.

  • Assault Rifles
    • CR-56 AMAX
      • Minimum Damage decreased from 32 to 31 (Warzone Only)
      • With a great damage profile, locational multipliers, and manageable recoil, the CR-56 AMAX was able to reliably reach extreme TTKs at long-range. This change reduces its fastest minimum damage TTK by about 17% in addition to its slowest minimum damage TTK by an additional shot. Its fastest maximum damage TTK however, remains intact—which is a risk we feel is equal to the reward considering how unforgiving its rate of fire is and how many other weapons it has to contest with in the mid-range engagement space. The CR-56 AMAX is just a tad more dominant than we would like it to be and with this change, our aim is to widen the selection of viable long-range assault rifles.
    • FARA 83
      • Headshot Multiplier decreased from 1.5 to 1.35
      • Base ADS Move Speed decreased by 7%
      • When combined with a mobility-based stock, the FARA 83 was capable of reaching exceedingly fast ADS firing speeds. We like how the FARA 83 plays, but it is a bit too versatile currently. As part of our efforts to increase the overall Time to Kill, we are reducing the FARA 83’s fastest TTK by 16.6% to compensate for its generous rate of fire and recoil control.
  • Shotguns
    • Streetsweeper
      • Base Hip Spread increased
      • Recoil increased slightly
      • ADS speed reduced slightly
      • While shotguns tend to have limited viability outside of early game, we find the Streetsweeper is a tad too effective given its rate of fire and ammo capacity when compared to other weapons of its class. This change will decrease its lethal range slightly, punish inaccurate sustained fire, and give a little more time to react.
  • Submachine Guns

    • Bullfrog
      • Maximum Damage decreased from 34 to 32
      • Maximum Damage Range increased by 11%
      • Base Move Speed increased by 1%
      • Sprint Out Speed increased by 13%
      • The Bullfrog’s exceptional headshot multiplier has allowed it to reach one of the fastest TTKs in the game. While this change does not directly affect that multiplier, it does diminish its output. This change reduces the Bullfrog’s ability to consistently achieve extreme TTKs, while not removing it entirely. We felt it was too easy to consistently reduce the TTK to these ranges, so we are asking for a bit more accuracy in exchange for the Bullfrog’s attractive stat line. We are hesitant to label this an outright ‘nerf’ as we believe there is more value to a weapon than its damage alone.
    • PPSh-41
      • Maximum Damage Range increased by 4%
      • Open Bolt Delay decreased by 80%
      • We would like to push SMGs in different and interesting directions to distinguish them from one another. Ideally, we are providing a myriad of options within each weapon category that are supplementary to a multitude of diverse playstyles. In that vein, we are going to push the PPSh-41’s identity in a way that continues to diversify it from its competition in meaningful ways. To us, the PPSh-41 is the quick to fire, high-capacity, short-to-mid range SMG. Not every weapon needs to have the highest TTK potential, but every weapon should at least feel viable and have a niche where it excels given a complementary playstyle.

ATTACHMENTS

  • Barrels
    • Combat Recon (Snipers)
      • Bullet Velocity multiplier increased by 12%
      • ADS Idle Sway multiplier decreased by 33.3%
      • As we continue assess the place of Cold War snipers within Warzone, we realize there is much work to be done. In addition to improving the overall efficacy of these weapons and attachments, we will also be taking a close look at their optics. This includes addressing attachment pros where there are few, if any, use cases. In specific… we may see a Cold War equivalent to an immensely popular Modern Warfare sniper attachment very soon.
  • Optics
    • Axial Arms 3x (Cold War AK-47)
      • Optic behavior improved
  • Stocks
    • Raider/KGB Skeletal Stock (Assault Rifles, Light Machine Guns, Shotguns, Snipers)
      • ADS Firing Speed multiplier decreased by 75%
      • ADS Move Speed multiplier decreased by 10%
    • Raider/KGB Skeletal Stock (Submachine Guns)
      • ADS Firing Speed multiplier decreased by 50%
      • ADS Move Speed multiplier decreased by 10%
    • SAS Combat/Spetsnaz Stock (Assault Rifles, Light Machine Guns, Shotguns, Snipers)
      • ADS Firing Speed multiplier decreased by 75%
      • ADS Move Speed multiplier decreased by 10%
    • SAS Combat/Spetsnaz Stock (Submachine Guns)
      • ADS Firing Speed multiplier decreased by 50%
      • ADS Move Speed multiplier decreased by 10%
    • Tactical Stock (Assault Rifles, Light Machine Guns, Shotguns, Snipers)
      • ADS Move Speed multiplier decreased by 75%
      • Tactical Stock (Submachine Guns)
      • ADS Move Speed multiplier decreased by 50%
  • It is crucial to maintain an engagement space where each weapon type can excel, lest we risk guns becoming analogous. In that regard, some weapon types were able to elude mobility as a core weakness given the right attachments. We believe this is in part why assault rifles have been able to assume the role of submachine guns. While it is a priority for us to maintain and embrace gameplay differences between Modern Warfare and Cold War guns, we felt movement speed modifiers in their current state would undermine gameplay integrity and overall weapon diversity if left unchecked. These stocks are still a solid choice, even with such a substantial reduction—which we believe speaks to just how strong they were.

Finally, we would like to address concerns that we are only going to be making changes to Cold War weapons. In the future, we fully intend on taking a closer look at some of the Modern Warfare weapons that have been struggling.

Now that’s one heck of a server update!

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade Exclusive to PS5 for at Least 6 Months

With Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Sony and Square Enix struck a deal which meant that the game would only be available on PlayStation platforms. Well, it looks like that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade exclusive deal is set to expire after six months.

In the latest trailer released today, the end of it features a splash screen wherein it mentions that Intergrade will be exclusive to the PS5 for six months. Here’s a screenshot of the image:

As you can see at the bottom, it states, “Available on PS5 at least six months earlier than any other format.” Mind, no other version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake or Intergrade has been announced for other platforms, but it would be foolish of Square Enix to not released it on Xbox (or even Nintendo Switch, PC), as that would sell a ton for sure.

Will we see a Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade announcement for other platforms after six months? We just might.

Report: Battlefield 2021 Reveal Trailer Audio Leaks and It’s 32 Seconds Long

While we seem to have gotten our first unofficial look at this year’s Battlefield game, DICE and EA has still not given us the reveal trailer, which we’re expecting to drop anytime now. Apparently, another leak has sprung, and this time, it’s the Battlefield 2021 reveal trailer audio!

Originating from 4chan, the audio file can be downloaded here. Reliable leaker Tom Henderson has gone on record to vouch for the recording, which lasts about 32 seconds long.

The video seems to have the sound of marching, people yelling and gunfire. Based on this, it doesn’t seem like it’s actual gameplay, which is what we’re expecting.

Battlefield fans, the wait won’t be long now. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reveal trailer drops tomorrrow.

Starcraft Has Been Inducted Into the World Video Game Hall of Fame

One of the most beloved and critically acclaimed real-time strategy games has joined the elite names in video games, as Blizzard’s Starcraft has been inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame — joining a class that includes Microsoft Flight Simulator, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, and Animal Crossing!

Being given this great honor, here is the press release from the Museum of Play themselves!

California-based developer Blizzard Entertainment took the real-time strategy genre to new heights in 1998 with the debut of StarCraft. The single-player mode of the immersive, science-fiction game proved popular, but the multiplayer mode, which included a ladder ranking system, turned it into the largest esports title of its day. StarCraft won multiple Game of the Year Awards, and generated its own lines of novels, graphic novels, licensed toys, clothing, and gaming accessors.

StarCraft added a new twist to the strategy game formula while leading a revolution in multiplayer gaming,” says Andrew Borman, digital games curator. “It’s regarded as one of the best real-time strategy games of all time and significantly impacted many of the real-time strategy games that have followed in the past two decades.”

Check more news and stories about Starcraft and its legacy with our archives. The game truly deserves being in the hall of fame!

Spellbreak Update 3.10 May 6 Features Custom Matches & More

The magical battle royale game Spellbreak got a significant title update today! The Spellbreak update 3.10 May 6 patch introduces custom matches and more! This is also called the Spellbreak 3.1 title update for those not on consoles.

Spellbreak Update 3.10 May 6 Patch Notes:

Custom Matches

A very popular player request is finally here! Groups of between 6 to 10 players will be able to set up custom matches of Dominion on their chosen map and server. For full details about this feature and how to use it, please see the Custom Matches article on our support site.

  • Accessed from the gamemode select screen. Select Dominion and select “Custom” as the type.
  • Must be a party leader of a party of 3 or more players to join or host a custom Dominion game.
  • When the host creates and confirms the match settings, a match code will be generated and displayed on the play screen. This code can be entered by another party leader to join the custom match.
    • On PC, players can choose to hide the match code with an option in the Account menu (so, for example, a streamer doesn’t have random folks joining their games) and use the copy button to get the code.
  • Custom matches don’t grant match crowns, XP, chapter rep, or quest progress.

Dominion

  • A new Banehelm map has been added. Watch your step!
  • Added animation to the score bar to better show when players earn points via exile.
  • Added animation to the score bar to show when points are gained by controlling objectives.
  • When a player is exiled in game, a number showing how many points the team got for that exile will appear in-world at their last location.
  • Updated level up alerts in Dominion to make them more noticeable, better communicate the time that the skill was granted, and what the newly gained skill does.
  • Alerts stating that a zone has been captured are now much more noticeable.
  • Added Minor Mana and Armor Blessings that give +5 Max Mana and +5 Max Armor respectively.
    • These only appear to players when there are no other boon options left and should fix the probability of capping out boons resulting in suboptimal choices.
  • Fixed end of match Dominion scoreboard incorrectly breaking ties on team ranking. In the case of a tie, it now prioritizes Exiles, then Exileds, and finally Damage.
  • A large number of accolades will now show their proper values client-side.
    • This is already in place on the server but now will appear properly on the client too.

UI

  • Revamped the class & talent selection screen to be much cleaner.
  • Refreshed the visuals on the in-game map and portal selection screen.
  • Polished the in-game notification feed that shows match exiles.
  • Polished in game UI at the bottom of the screen that contains spells, sorceries, and runes.
  • Added monospaced type for timers.
  • Cooldown timers now show the tenth-decimal if the duration is less than 10 seconds.
  • Added a notification to the play screen when a friend invite is sent.
  • Added a countdown to the Chapter Screen quest panel that counts down to when Weekly Quests reset.
  • Polished up the quests screen to better communicate which quests have been completed.
  • Friends that are not in a queue or a match are now shown in the friends menu as being “In Menu” (previously displayed as “In Game”).
  • Offline friends are also no longer as eye-catching on the friends screen.

Class Unlocks

  • To better onboard brand new players, classes now need to be unlocked by increasing your mage level:
    • All players start with Pyromancer unlocked.
    • At Mage Rank 2, Stoneshapper is unlocked.
    • At Mage Rank 3, Toxicologist is unlocked.
    • At Mage Rank 3, Conduit is unlocked.
    • At Mage Rank 4, Tempest and Frostborn are unlocked.
  • Existing players will not have their classes locked by this update, even if they are not the required mage rank.
  • Mastery screen, class selection screen, and mage rank rewards all updated to reflect locked class statuses

Balance

General

  • Sorcery cast animations no longer trigger mid-air hover.
    • Players still hover while aiming, this only removes the hover during the cast animation.
    • With the gravity reduction, this is no longer needed and just feels better overall.
  • Adjusted aiming heuristic for nearby characters to make aim more important for targets that are very close.

Talents

  • Athletic now also adds “Run Speed +1/2/3/5” in addition to “On reading Body Scroll: +1 Character Level”.
    • It was a little on the weaker side and as a bonus now makes even more sense thematically.
  • Gilded now reads “On reading Spirit Scroll: Upgrade 2 random equipped items by 1 Rarity”, instead of upgrading all of your equipped items.
    • Gilded turned out to be MUCH stronger and prevalent than we expected and allowed players to cap out very quickly. This tones it back somewhat while still leaving it quite strong.
  • Increased Fellowship shared healing radius to 12m (from 8m).
    • Just making it easier to use!
  • Foresight no longer “pings” Vowguard in Dominion, making it easier to see players on the minimap and get audio notifications when they are nearby. Ditto.

Runes

  • Teleportation
    • Movement/falling is no longer locked while casting, but movement while casting is slowed to “potion drinking” speed.
    • Aiming will still hover.
    • With longer cast speed, it’s no longer necessary to keep players “locked” but the reduced speed keeps it from being a free escape.
  • Flight’s amount of turn “friction” has been reduced by 50% to make it smoother and offer more control.

Conduit / Lighting

  • Removed windup animation from Lightning Bolt.
  • Increased Lightning Bolt cast speed by 5%.
    • With the previous cast speed decrease, it left Lightning in a rough spot. Removing the windup makes it feel MUCH more responsive, especially when paired with the increase in speed.
  • Reduced amount of aim assist on Lightning Bolt.
    • AA on Lightning has always been good and without a windup, it turned out to be too good, so it’s been dialed back somewhat.

Pyromancer / Fire

  • Firefly’s amount of turn “friction” has been reduced by 50% to make it smoother and offer more control.
  • Increased Firewall cast animation duration to 0.8s (from 0.6s).
    • With the overall buff to AoEs and no more movement penalty, this adds a smidge more commitment to casting the sorcery.
  • Reduced duration of Flamewall to 6s (from 15s).
    • The amount of AoE in Dominion is VERY strong for attacking/defending points and it really doesn’t need to be THAT long.
  • Reduced collision size of Fireballs by ~30%.
    • It’s often too easy to land Fireballs and feels like they shouldn’t be hitting visually when sometimes they do.

Tempest / Wind

  • Increased Tornado cast animation duration to 1.3s (from 0.9s)
    • With the overall buff to AoEs and no more movement penalty, this adds a smidge more commitment to casting the sorcery.

Toxicologist / Toxic

  • Increased Poison Cloud cast animation duration to 1.2s (from 0.8s)
    • With the overall buff to AoEs and no more movement penalty, this adds a smidge more commitment to casting the sorcery.
  • Reduced electrification duration of toxic clouds to 2s (from 5s).
    • Again a general tamping down of AoE. Maintaining an electric cloud was trivial and offered a lot of power, but this change also makes it easier to use offensively without shocking yourself.
  • Toxic Spray
    • Reduced spread by 17%.
    • Reduced pellet physics size by 50%.
    • Spray dissipates after 0.65s in the air (prev 2s).
    • Overall, this is to reduce the efficacy of Toxic Spray as a long range “gardening” tool, while increasing the power at close range.

Misc.

  • Added bots to the practice map that will move around and fight the player when attacked.
    • Another feature that’s been frequently requested, now you can practice against moving targets that pose a little more of a threat.

Map

  • Added new gate structures at the edges of Hymnwood.
  • Updated the Lux Vault POI.

Store

  • New outfits, artifacts, cloudbursts, afterglows, and emotes have been added to the store.
  • More emotes now include sound effects.

Nintendo Switch

  • Increased joystick deadzone while on menus so players don’t accidentally select things they didn’t mean to.
  • Fixed an issue causing low texture resolution when playing in TV mode.
  • Fixed misaligned league tier number in the inventory screen.

Sony Playstation

  • Reverted 4K support for PS4 Pro and PS5 as it was causing blurry visuals.
    • Sorry for this! We’ll be revisiting it in a future patch.
  • Fixed misaligned league tier number in the inventory screen.

Microsoft Xbox

  • Fixed an issue where getting resurrected by a blocked teammate unblocks them upon resurrection.

Bug Fixes

  • Primary gauntlet now appears on the correct hand in gauntlet selection.
  • Fixed a bug that caused parties to disband when the party leader changed the gamemode.
  • Chapter pack prices are now listed for the correct price in Chile.
  • Fixed invisible Spellstorm rifts that sometimes appeared in Battle Royale.
  • Parental restrictions on PS4 that restrict voice chat now properly block in game voice chat.
  • Fixed Fortitude talent description on boon screen to not run out of bounds.
  • Fixed Runic Fluency Talent text overlapping with its icon in the Talent Selection screen.
  • Fixed a number of floating chests around the map, as well as some chests that were partially submerged/buried.
  • Fixed a number of floating bricks and greenery around the map.
  • Fixed a few floating brilstones in various places around the map.
  • Fixed a number of misaligned collisions around various parts of the map that caused players to be able to walk in the air.
  • Fixed snow not appearing in some areas around Banehelm on PS4, XB1, and Switch.
  • Fixed an issue where players that were blocked/reported on the inventory screen remain audible and cannot be muted.
  • Players can now turn on/off the “Voice chat enabled” option in a match.
  • Fixed an issue where Teammates or enemies could not be muted/unmuted on the victory/defeat screen in Dominion.
  • Fixed an issue where typing an “e” in the Spellbreak friends search bar would cause the game to tab out of the friends screen.
  • Party invite notifications now correctly appear on the shop screen.
  • Long names no longer get cut off in notifications related to friend and party requests.
  • NPCs spawned in Battle Royale matches are no longer added to the remaining players counter.
  • Fixed issue where the player did not receive HUD notifications for accolades related to leveling up.
  • Teammate’s avatar no longer persists in the Play menu upon restarting the title after leaving a match.
  • Player’s card no longer persists on the Chapters Menu after leaving Chapter Rewards Screen with the player’s card displayed.
  • Fixed new players appearing in league Iron 3 instead of Bronze 10.
  • Fixed a bug where the prompt to exile bots in Battle Royale would display with the revive icon instead of the exile icon.
  • Pinging a brilstone now correctly shows the brilstone icon instead of a white square.
  • Fixed Burning Corsair and Underworld Titan vfx remaining visible while disrupted.
  • Ice trails created by ice lance now correctly extinguish toxic flames
  • Fixed players being brought to the news screen after selecting the Dominion game mode through the news screen.
  • Fixed party invite notifications occasionally not showing player names.
  • Fixed steam vfx occasionally appearing yellow when active in a captured zone.
  • Flame walls now correctly turn ice puddles into steam.
  • Fixed a soft lock caused by losing internet connection during server transitions.
  • Fixed default background color appearing for a moment when switching between the collections screen and mastery screen.
  • Sound effects on the login screen now correctly play.
  • Fixed belts sometimes giving full armor when picked up from exiled enemies in Battle Royale.

Latest Star Wars Squadrons Update for May 6 Is the Last Server-Side Balance Patch

While Star Wars Squadrons got a patch this January, Motive Studio has announced that they have rolled out the latest Star Wars Squadrons update for May 6, and this is the final server-side balancing change for the game.

Latest Star Wars Squadrons Update May 6 Patch Notes:

Starfighters & Components

Overall, things are looking good across both factions, with the Galactic Empire having a bit of an edge for victories over the New Republic in Fleet Battles. To even out the win rates a bit more at the top tier of play, we’re tweaking the X-wing and the Y-wing to make them slightly more agile, allowing them to better challenge Imperial starfighters and objectives.

  • Reduced X-wing boost activation cost by 12.5%

  • Reduced Y-wing boost activation cost by 18.75%

Will we see more client-side patches for the game or is this truly the last update? Let’s hope we get more events and free stuff down the line.

Outriders Inventory Wipe Restoration in Group B & C Underway Today

Just yesterday, People Can Fly started the Outriders inventory wipe restoration process for “Group A.” Today. the studio has announced that “Group B & C” restoration are underway as well!

Outriders Inventory Wipe Restoration Details for Group B & C:

While we understand that the following information can quickly become a bit confusing, we did want to share it here to better explain the complexity of this issue as well as any minor restoration quirks you may encounter.

  • Restoring inventories is unfortunately not a simple “restore from backup” process.
  • The process for running this restoration actually involves analysing every Outriders player profile in existence and scanning it for possible inventory corruption. Affected characters’ item histories are then cross-referenced against our analytics metrics, which in turn inform us which items were lost.
  • Group B
    • The rules we are using to identify these smaller number of inventory wipe cases are by identifying lost items as follows:
      • Analytics tells us that a player acquired an item
      • Analytics also tell us whether that item was “dismantled”
      • If it was not dismantled, we check the Database to see whether the item is still in the player’s inventory
      • If it is no longer present, and was a Legendary item, we will assume that it was lost to an inventory wipe as Legendaries will most often be scrapped.
    • However, while our analytics are proving extremely helpful, they do not track every single interaction with an item.
      • This means that the steps used to identify lost items for Group B, in fact may also identify all no-longer-present gear, regardless of rarity, from players in Group C (the rest of the population).
      • This is why we are limiting the Group B restoration just to Legendary items. Legendary items are rarer and most likely to be dismantled.
      • Any player who has previously had, but did not dismantle, a Legendary item will have them restored, even if the character did not encounter an Inventory wipe (was in Group C) . You can immediately sell the item if you choose to do so.
      • In order to not impact Group C, each character not in Group A will therefore only have a maximum of 20 Legendaries restored.
      • In order to not impact Group C, each character not in Group A will therefore not have the 20 previously acquired items restored.
    • Note that the data needed for this operation has already been collected. Please do not attempt to exploit the process as you will only end up losing your items.

The above complexities are why we are still working to confirm the exact schedule of the restoration but we are working to an “ASAP” schedule as we fully understand how disappointing it is to not yet have your items back today.

Extra Details:

  • Items will be granted back in order of importance to the character’s equipment slots followed by their inventory.
  • We will have measures in place to prevent items from full inventories or full stashes being discarded or not restored. However, we would still recommend ensuring that there is enough space in your character, stash or alt characters should you be expecting a lot of items to be restored.

NOTE: We would like to confirm that anyone who has had their items restored as part of our restoration process will, at a later date, receive an additional appreciation package (LINK).

Here’s more clarification from the devs via Twitter:

Let’s hope we never have to experience anything like this again for our sake, and the devs’.

Latest Forza 4 Update Breaks the Game, but Here’s a Workaround

After a 7GB large update on Forza Horizon 4, some users are now unable to start the game on their Xbox series consoles, with some experiencing an immediate shut-off of their system.

A Reddit user posted their unfortunate experience, with many responding to the same game-breaking bug. Not everyone, however, has issues with the game after an update — most especially those using Series X consoles. Meanwhile, a couple of Reddit users found a helpful, albeit temporary, solution.

One user writes that setting your Xbox to offline before launching the game will work, as turning it back to online while the game is open will prevent it from crashing. This solution will not work completely for those on Game Pass, as the same user experienced other internal bugs.

How to Fix Forza 4 Auto Shutdown:

Another listed a step-by-step workaround that may work for some:

1 – Disable instant sign on (Settings > Account > Sign-in, security & passkey > Instant sign-in)
2 – Restart Xbox
3 – Upon restart, skip sign in
4 – Start game
5 – Manually sign back into your account on the main menu
6 – Continue game
7 – Search and successfully join a session when prompted

While not everyone is experiencing the same issues, those who found themselves with the issue may have to wait for a permanent repair from the developers themselves.

Report: Former Halo Infinite Dev Says Execs Were “Overly Ambitious”

With Halo Infinite getting delayed significantly from its previous release date of December 2020,, and after the disastrous gameplay reveal, it doesn’t take a genuis to figure out that there’s bound to be some development issues 343 Industries has to overcome.

It seems we now have more info regarding the game’s development thanks to a former Halo Infinite dev named Eric Lin. The video (which is in Chinese) can be viewed here, and there’s also a summary via ResetEra poster random0_point:

A former 343i employee (Skybox Artist) shared some insight on Halo Infinite. (video is in mandarin, so I tried to translate his words into English)

  • His overall feeling on Halo Infinite: “In fact, I think the finished product will still be great. The story is a big improvement, and the gameplay is much richer, though the development cycle is too long. Don’t expect it to be an epoch-making masterpiece.”

  • The company executives were overly ambitious. They wanted to make Halo Infinite a semi-open world game, so the engine needed to be changed significantly. They had to make the game and develop the engine at the same time (Due to engine defects, many workflows were not ideal, though they are now much more improved than before).

  • Last year’s disastrous demo was because many engine features were not fully implemented at that time.

  • For a variety of reasons, the game content compared to the original idea has been cut (same for multiplayer). “This has led to some things I’ve made over the years that no one will probably ever see.”

  • The team at 343 (especially the low-level employees) works very hard, and many of them have experienced working overtime until the early hours of the morning in the past few years. (Crunch confirmed 🙁

  • Now he works at Certain Affinity, still doing some HI outsourcing work, and he feels good to be out of 343’s baggage.

That doesn’t seem as bad as initially thought, but of course, we don’t know the full details. In other Halo Infinite news, 343 says they are working to expand beta testing for the shooter “as soon as possible.”

Marvel’s Avengers Update 1.36 May 6 Out for Rooskaya Protocols Event (Update)

Crystal Dynamics has released the Marvel’s Avengers update 1.36 May 6 patch, and this is for a new event for gamers! Avengers will be able to tackle the Rooskaya Protocols event starting today.

Marvel’s Avengers Update 1.36 May 6 Patch Notes:

Update: Here’s the announcement from the devs:

As we revealed a few weeks ago, the Red Room Takeover Event will begin in May. Well, it’s May! We’d like to take this time to give an overview of what you can expect starting with the fact that this event will take place in two parts: the Rooskaya Protocols and the Red Room Takeover.

The Rooskaya Protocols will initiate from May 6 to May 20. A virus has infected several AIM Synthoids. Its origin is unknown and untraceable, but the name “Rooskaya Protocols” is embedded in the data, indicating a potential connection to Black Widow’s past.

Unique mission chains will appear during the Rooskaya Protocols that each have multiple objectives. They range from defeating enemies with specific Heroics to completing a specific mission type like a Vault. One of the main objectives in each of these missions is to defeat Synthoids in order to collect a number of Protocol Chips – these Protocol Chip objectives must be done with either the player, a Strike Team member, or a Companion in the role of Black Widow.

Completing these mission chains will reward you with either Upgrade Modules or Polychoron. Furthermore, the very first completion of any of these mission chains will reward you with a team Rooskaya Protocols animated nameplate.

Speaking of nameplates, we’ll have Hero-specific ones on sale in the Marketplace:

  • May 6 – May 13: Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, Captain America
  • May 13 – May 20: Black Widow, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye

We’re introducing a new outfit set: the Red Room Outfits. Forged in the unforgiving strife of its namesake, the Red Room Outfit set captures the darkness and cunning one needs to survive such a place in a combination of daunting, dangerous red and sleek, stoic black.

  • May 6 – May 13: Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye
  • May 13 – May 20: Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, Captain America

Finally, Black Widow’s Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Endgame” Outfit will also be in the Marketplace on May 6!

Here’s the announcement from Crystal Dynamics:

Crystal Dynamics has also promised that a blog post will go up today, detailing what’s in the event, and what we presume are the gameplay-related changes included. Once the studio has released the info, we’ll update the post ASAP.

For more on what’s coming later this month, check out the May roadmap for Marve’s Avengers.

Don’t forget to refresh this page in a little bit, as we’ll have the official details here shortly.
