Nostalgia makes its way in the form of another crossover costume Street Fighter fans can acquire in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition, as Capcom reveals that Street Fighter EX and Fighting EX Layer character Garuda is the latest alternate outfit Akuma/ Gouki will be getting in the game courtesy of Extra Battle mode!
As the latest crossover costume to hit the game, Garuda marks the fifth character representation from Fighting EX Layer — Arika’s fighting game series that is a spiritual successor to the Street Fighter EX series developed by Capcom and Arika that was released in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Made mostly of former Capcom staff and designers, Arika was founded in 1995 and headed by Street Fighter II creator Akira Nishitani. The Street Fighter EX saga was a 2.5D spin-off series that featured fan favorites like Ryu, Ken, Guile, and Chun-Li but also introduced original characters like Kairi, Hokuto, Skullomania, and Garuda. These fighters would not be seen in any Street Fighter games after the EX series since they were owned by Arika — however Capcom has apparently rebuilt bridges with the company and has added these characters back somewhat in the form of Extra Battle costumes straight out of their appearance in Fighting EX Layer.

If you’d rather watch than read the Dead by Daylight upcoming changes, check out the first volume of the “Dev Tapes” where the studio talks about the upcoming stuff for the title.
THE CLOWN: GAMEPLAY UPDATE
Kicking things off, The Clown is receiving some changes in the upcoming Mid-Chapter.
Our resident funny man has been cooking something up. Introducing the Afterpiece Antidote: This new throwable bottle shatters and releases a delayed yellow gas. Once the gas activates, anyone who steps in the gas receives a 10% movement speed bonus. Like your Tonic, this effect lingers for a few seconds after leaving the gas. You can swap between Tonics and Antidotes by tapping the Active Ability button at any time.
‘Antidote’ isn’t just a name! They will also cure any negative effects from the Afterpiece Tonic, so you’ll want to be careful where you throw them. They may make you faster, but a poorly thrown bottle will make the Survivor faster as well. Or you may want to lure a Survivor to an area with no pallets remaining with a juicy Antidote. But remember: If the two gases collide, they will neutralize each other and disappear.
We also recognize that every second counts. That’s why we’ve reduced the time taken to reload your bottles to 3 seconds (down from 5). Reloading will give you four bottles in any combination; you do not need to reload Tonics and Antidotes separately.
Last but not least, we’ve done a pass on The Clown’s add-ons. There’s some interesting new combinations in there that we’re curious to see what you can do with!
HUD UPDATE
Out with the old, in with the new: We’ve all got some fond memories of the in-game HUD, but after four years of additions, we felt that it was time to rebuild it from the ground up. Seeing is believing here, so here’s a couple examples of what you can expect:
Character Portraits
No longer will you stare blankly at the generic figures in the corner trying to figure out which one is Meg and which one is Dwight– you’ll now see the face of the Survivor next to their name.
Hook Counter & Progress
Next to each Survivor’s portrait, you’ll find a hook counter. This will help you remember who’s been hooked, who hasn’t, and who can’t afford to be hooked again. Killers will also see a meter showing their hook progress to give them an idea of how well they are doing.
UI Scale Options
Are you squinting at a tiny screen across the room, trying to make out what that text says? Or are you a minimalist who wants the HUD to take up as little space as possible? Either way, we have you covered: You’ll find new options to increase or decrease the size of the HUD in the Options menu.
And to any streamers out there, don’t worry, we didn’t forget about you. We made sure to leave a space for you to put your camera without covering up any important HUD elements.
SURVIVOR LOCOMOTION ANIMATION UPDATE
Keeping with the theme of updating what’s old, we have revisited Survivor animations. As the game moves towards a more realistic direction, we felt it was only fitting to switch to more realistic and fluid animations.
We have made a conscious effort to not change movement itself: Your inputs— as well as your character’s speed, turn rates, and acceleration—have not changed. While the actual movement for Survivors has not changed, new animations can make it feel different to control. We’ll be keeping a close eye out for feedback to make sure we find a compromise between making things look better while also keeping the feeling right.
MATCHMAKING RATING & RANK REWARDS
Starting with some good news: Matchmaking ratings are returning in the near future. We have been hard at work tweaking the system since our test last year and we are preparing to re-enable skill based matchmaking for another test soon. For more information on matchmaking ratings, click here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/173606
But that’s not all; once we are happy with matchmaking ratings and turn the system on for good, we’ll be introducing rank rewards. Since ranks will no longer be used for matchmaking, they will instead be repurposed to reward dedicated players. Each month, everyone will be given Bloodpoints based on the highest rank they’ve reached and then be reset to rank 20.
You’ll earn rewards for both Killer and Survivor separately. For example, if you reach rank 1 on both roles, you’ll receive a total of 500,000 Bloodpoints.
MISCELLANEOUS
Finally, let’s round of this Developer Update with a package of small quality of life and balance changes.
THE WRAITH: TRUE INVISIBILITY
A keen Survivor can see The Wraith while he is cloaked by a faint shimmer. To give him a small boost, we will be changing his cloaked shimmer to only be visible when close by. The Wraith’s shimmer will be:
Completely invisible beyond 24m
Somewhat visible between 24m and 16m
Unchanged when within 16m
The goal of this change is to make it harder for Survivors to keep tabs on The Wraith while he is cloaked while maintaining an opportunity for a Survivor to react if you approach from the open.
THE TRAPPER: ESCAPE MECHANIC UPDATE
You’ve stepped in a trap. Now what?
Previously, you would have a 25% chance to escape a trap each attempt. This sounds simple on paper, but four attempts only adds up to roughly a 68% chance to escape. This makes traps pretty unreliable. Survivors could get out their very first try before you have a chance to react, or they could try dozens of times without escaping.
To combat this, we are switching to a flat distribution: Each time a Survivor steps in a trap, it will take them between 1-6 attempts to escape. What does this mean in practice?
Between 1-3 attempts, the chance to escape is lower than before
At 4 attempts, the chance to escape is roughly the same as before
Between 5-6 attempts, the chance to escape is higher than before
(Add-ons which reduce the chance to escape will be updated to increase the possible number of attempts accordingly.)
We hope to keep the exciting “Am I going to escape” / “Am I going to get there in time” moments while reducing the frustrations and making it easier to understand.
DEEP WOUND ADJUSTMENTS
Deep Wounds have gone through a few iterations, and the once reasonable 30 second timer now seems a little too generous.
We will be simplifying Deep Wounds: The Deep Wound timer is now 20 seconds long regardless of how it was applied. The Legion’s add-ons that remove Deep Wound time have been adjusted accordingly.
We wanted to add a bit more urgency to Mending while also leaving room for edge cases (such as needing to Snap Out Of Madness III before being able to mend).
DIVERSION (AKA PEBBLE)
Diversion has found its way into the hearts of many people in spite of not being particularly powerful. We believe that the world should have more pebbles. With that in mind, we are reducing the time taken to activate Diversion and simplifying its perk tiers to make it more useable at lower levels.
FIXATED
Don’t you hate it when you get hit so hard that you forget how to walk slightly faster? Us too. Fixated will now remain active even if you’re injured.
HEX: UNDYING
We’ve been watching this one closely, and there’s a few things we’d like to address:
Transferring the same Hex multiple times can get out of hand: Hexes are meant to be strong perks that can be destroyed, and having to destroy the same Hex four times can be a bit much.
Since tokens aren’t transferred when a Hex changes totems, Undying was unpopular with perks other than Ruin (which does not have any tokens and is immediately at full power).
Having aura reading on all totems also made it a very powerful tracking perk on top of its other effects, and is a little redundant with Hex: Thrill of the Hunt.
With this in mind, we are making three changes to Hex: Undying:
Any time a Hex totem is cleansed, it will replace the Hex: Undying totem. Hex: Undying is then deactivated. This ensures that the first totem cleansed is never your other Hex perk.
Any tokens you’ve already accumulated are now kept when the Hex perk transfers totems. This way you’re not starting from scratch part way through a match.
Aura reading only applies to dull totems.
We hope this makes Hex perks other than just Ruin more appealing when used with Undying.
IRON MAIDEN
It could be very difficult to follow up and hit a Survivor within 15 seconds of them exiting a locker, so we are increasing the duration of the Exposed effect to 30 seconds.
OPEN HANDED
Open Handed makes for some interesting builds, but the low values meant that you needed to convince other Survivors to stack it to see any noticeable results. To make this a more appealing choice, we’ll be increasing the aura reading range bonus to 8/12/16m, but limiting you to the effects of one Open Handed at a time to prevent it from getting out of hand.
To that one friend who really didn’t want to run Open Handed but did it anyway because the rest of the group wanted to, you’re welcome.
SECOND WIND
Another simple one: We’re reducing the time it takes for Second Wind to heal you after being unhooked.
There’s also a big graphics update which you can check out in detail here.
Once the patch that introduces some (or all) these changes, we’ll let our readers know ASAP.
While we’ve yet to hit the mid-season refresh for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, reports have already surfaced on what players can expect in Black Ops Cold War Season 2.
Over on Twitter, reliable dataminer and Call of Duty leaker MW2OG has tweeted that Treyarch-developed, fan-favorite map Firing Range will be coming back in Season 2! In addition to that, the K9 Unit (Attack Dogs) scorestreak are also said to be coming back as well! Finally, he mentions that another fan-favorite map, Summit, is also coming back — or has a chance of coming back in Season 2 as well.
Just got some infos:
K9 Unit/Dogs, Firing Range, and Summit "thinks they are ready for Season 2". Not 100% tho.
This could end up being the 3three 6v6 maps for S2
Don’t forget, none of these have been confirmed by Activision nor Treyarch, so take this with a grain of salt. That said, MWOG has been very reliable when it comes to Call of Duty leaks, so don’t be surprised if this pans out.
Personally, I’m more hyped for the K9 Unit scorestreak given how lackluster the current ‘streaks are. And with Treyarch adding the HARP scorestreak in Season 1, we know the studio isn’t opposed to the idea of adding more to the current lot. As for Firing Range, this could very well replace the Nuketown 24/7 playlist given how the two are probably the most iconic Call of Duty maps of all-time.
Roccat is making a big jump in its PC gaming accessories as it moves on from traditional mechanical switches to its new in-house developed Titan Optical Switch. Bolstering the speed of light, we take a look at the latest offering from Roccat, the Vulcan Pro Keyboard! Is this a keyboard worth owning or upgrading for? Read on for our Roccat Vulcan Pro Keyboard review.
The Future of Keyboards
I suppose you may be wondering what exactly is the Titan Optical Switch? Well, as the term “optical” suggests, the Titan Optical Switch is a new piece of technology developed by Roccat that uses beams of light to detect the input of a press.
Comparatively, most keyboards on the market all are based on mechanical inputs, meaning when a key gets pressed it needs to physically make a connection with the board in order to supply any kind of feedback. It’s the very standardized method of capturing presses, in not just in PC devices, but practically everything you have ever used. It obviously works, however the most common isn’t always the most effective and that’s exactly what the Vulcan Pro Keyboard proves.
I’ll admit, at first the feeling of typing and playing games was a bit strange as I’ve never had a keyboard with keys so highly elevated, but once it clicked (pun intended) it clicked. Playing through an MMO, RTS (real-time strategy), shooter, racer, whatever the genre, keystrokes all felt stupendously fast, proving to have zero delay in responses. It’s hard to really explain to you the exact feeling of the presses, but I suppose as Roccat details it, it truly does harness the speed of light.
It’s quiet noticeable, especially when compared to a mechanical keyboard. While the Vulcan Pro still features sound feedback from presses, I felt that these were solely to remind you that you had pressed the key. Taking things to a more turtle pace, I examined my presses a bit closer to see that they were being registered on screen well before they even hit their low pressing point.
For PC gamers, that last bit should be a bit important as it offers an incredible amount of speed unmatched by any mechanical keyboard. For me personally, I just can’t see myself ever going back to anything less for my gaming sessions.
Even in every day use such as typing up news reports, and using chat the keyboard was well suited. The effects of the Optical Switch may not have been as noticeable or impactful, but they keyboard itself offers some nifty quality of life. Specifically the volume control knob that is right above the number pad, along with a dedicated mute and unmute button. They’re small additions, but certainly great ones that adds to the overall quality of the keyboard.
Looks That Kill, A Build That Can Last
I got to say, the design of the Roccat Vulcan Pro is absolutely gorgeous. As mentioned before, the keys float well above the board itself, allowing users to get a glimpse of the inner workings of the Titan Optical Switches. To go along with this are some finely lit RBG lighting, a killer combo if you ask me. If you aren’t a fan of RGB lighting, they can be turned off via the Swarm software.
Honestly though, as someone who isn’t a fan of them, I think the Vulcan Pro turned me into a believer. It’s pretty fun to take a peek underneath the keys and see all the lights transition from one to another, and even more to mess around in the dedicated Swarm application.
As for the build quality, the keyboard has panels made of both metallic and plastic material that is extremely sturdy. Holding the keyboard in your hand, you’ll no doubt feel that you have a premium piece of equipment as there is quiet a bit of weight to it. That’s a bit surprising considering that weren’t for the keys being so raised high, this would be a very slim keyboard. I should mention that because they’re raised, the Vulcan Pro is also incredibly easy to clean.
The decision to go with an optical design for keys is also a great one. While I have no way to test the longer life expectancy versus a mechanical board, it’s clear that there is less wear and tear going on with each keystroke. And in this day and age, that’s a great thing as electronics often feel as if they’re being built with the idea of breaking.
The Game Changer
I think it’s rare to find such a major game changer in the PC industry that doesn’t revolve around the yearly CPU and GPU revisions, and in the case of the Roccat Titan Optical Switch, I think we may have found just that. Beautifully designed to give you a premium gaming experience, and equipped with the latest innovation from Roccat, the Vulcan Pro Keyboard is one piece of PC hardware you shouldn’t go without. Couple this in with the Roccat Burst Pro gaming mouse and you have yourself one specular gaming set-up.
Pros:
Titan Optical Switch is a game changer. Fast and responsive.
High quality build with a beautiful design.
RGB lighting truly pops and suits the floaty keys.
Dedicated volume wheel along with a mute button.
Cons:
A bit pricey at $199, but quality accommodates for that.

While Sony PlayStation first-party studio Guerrilla Games has struck gold with Horizon Zero Dawn, the studio was previously known more for the Killzone first-person franchise more than anything else.
While Sony has kept quiet on the franchise’s future, we do have some new Killzone news to share today, though it’s not exactly something players would see as good news. The official killzone.com website has now been “retired,” and Guerrila has posted a message announcing it, which you can read below.
KILLZONE.COM HAS RETIRED
Dear Killzone.com visitor,
The official website for the KILLZONE franchise has retired. Going forward, visitors to Killzone.com will be directed to PlayStation.com.
While this change doesn’t affect the online multiplayer modes, player statistics or ranking data for KILLZONE MERCENARY and KILLZONE SHADOW FALL, it is now no longer possible to create or manage clans in KILLZONE SHADOW FALL. We apologize for this inconvenience.
Thank you to Killzone.com’s many fans and visitors throughout the years for their enthusiasm and support.
Sincerely,
Guerrilla
Does this mean Sony has no intention of releasing a Killzone game anytime soon? Maybe, maybe not. The company might just want to rope in its first-party games under the official PlayStation website to keep things all in one place. That said, it’s a little disheartening that the first Killzone news of 2021 is of its official website shutting down.
Get ready for more warriors to join the fight in the latest entry of the Samurai Shodown series, as SNK has revealed the newest fighters for “Samurai Shodown” in Cham Cham and Hibiki Takane — who join the roster with Season Pass 3.
Here’s the reveal trailer for the two new combatants as released by the Samurai Shodown team.
First introduced in Samurai Showdown II way back in 1994, Cham Cham is a feline like warrior who uses a boomerang as her signature weapon. The character is the younger sister of the mask wearing warrior Tam Tam, and she has since become a fan favorite of the series. She will become available with Season Pass 3 some time this March.
Hibiki Takane on the other hand hails from another popular weapon based fighting game by SNK — The Last Blade. The daughter of a swordsmith who passes away after creating a sword for a mysterious man, Hibiki searches for this swordsman to find answers and avenge her father’s mysterious death. Her inclusion in Samurai Shodown marks the latest crossover SNK has done for their fighting games properties much like The King of Fighters series. She’ll be available to play with Season Pass 3 at a later date this year.
Be sure to check out more news and features about Samurai Shodown here at MP1st.
Samurai Shodown is available for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC now, with an Xbox Series X|S version coming later this year.

Fans of SNK’s long running King of Fighters saga who were anxiously waiting for updates finally got it, as SNK Global finally released the reveal trailer for “The King of Fighters 15” — which showcases a taste of things to come for the new sequel coming sometime this year.
Here’s the reveal trailer released in stunning 4K definition by SNK Global.
Acting as a continuation of the events of the previous installment, KOF 15 will once again feature new lead protagonist Shun’ei — a chinese martial artist who is the student and adopted grandchild of Fatal Fury veteran Tung Fu Rue. In the previous game, it was revealed that Shun’ei contained a fragment of the power held by boss character Verse, and upon defeating the villain is training harder to keep his powers under control.
While no specific details have been released by SNK on what platforms and date KOF 15 will be released, the trailer confirms several fan favorite characters returning — including Kyo Kusanagi, Benimaru Nikaido, K’, Leona Heidern, and Mai Shiranui. While there’s no sign of Terry Bogard or the others yet, you can bet they’ll be revealed in the next set of updates — beginning next week as SNK announced at the end of this reveal trailer.

EA Vancouver has released the EA Madden 21 update 1.22 January 7 patch, or wha the studio calls the January update for the sports sim. Note that this patch applies to the current-gen and last-gen version, with the changes listed below.
EA Madden 21 Update 1.22 January 7 Patch Notes:
Madden NFL 21 (Xbox Series X|S & PS5)
Key Highlights:
New SpongeBob Yard Location
Second set of post-launch Franchise updates
Gameplay Updates:
Zone Coverage Improvements:
Tuning to Deep Zone defender logic to focus more on deep threats in their zone and less on shorter routes approaching their zones
Tuning to Deep Zone logic in Cover 1 to react quicker to Deep Over, Post, and any other deep crossing routes.
Updated the facing direction of Deep Zone players so they’ll face the ball rather than just the line of scrimmage, which will help Deep Zone defenders turn in the appropriate direction when covering deep routes.
Tuning to fakeout logic on Inside Release Post Routes (S-Posts). There was significant separation resulting from this release and cut when close to the line of scrimmage. This change prevents defenders getting faked out during this early segment of the route.
Added Gen 5-specific Change of Direction animations to locomotion which will improve a defender’s ability to transition from strafe to run quicker and smoother to help defenders get into position to play the ball quicker.
Tuning to improve ‘turn and run’ to better anticipate vertical speed threats
Tuning to allow faster top-end strafe speed for defenders in Deep Zone
Extended the distance that a Deep Third can look inside when anticipating Deep Crossing routes coming from the opposite side of the field.
Fixed an issue causing outside Deep Third defenders to leverage the No. 1 (Outside) Receiver too long even when the receiver was no longer a deep threat.
DEV NOTE: We’ve made significant tuning changes to zone coverage, specifically deep zones to better balance the deep passing game and increase anticipation of deep zone defenders. One thing to be aware of is that these changes only apply to defenders in zone coverage and will NOT impact ‘Match’ zone players after they have transitioned to man coverage on applicable match coverage plays. We will continue to monitor stats and feedback on both man and zone coverage towards future tuning updates and thank you to the Madden Community for the feedback on zone coverage.
General Gameplay Fixes:
Kickoff Playclock Exploit – Fixed an issue allowing the kicking team to remain at the Play-call screen indefinitely without having to call a play. This has been used as an exploit to force the receiving team to quit in order to get out of the game. Now the playclock will run down as it should and force the kickoff to be called when it expires.
Fair Catch Exploit – Fixed an issue causing the ball carrier to enter a state where he couldn’t be tackled after fielding a kick or punt off the ground following a fair catch. With this fix, any player on the receiving team who recovers a kick or punt following a fair catch will be able to get tackled.
Franchise Updates:
The second set of Franchise updates announced post-launch have arrived, check out the Madden NFL 21 Gridiron Notes for more info:
New Commish Controls
Draft Auto-Pilot: Assign auto-pilot during the draft.
House Rules: Dictate how many times a play can be called in a game, and how long a player must wait before calling the same play again.
Undo Free Agent Settings: undo FA signings in the offseason directly through the transaction log. Click on a signing and revert it to send the player back into the free agent pool.
Team Override Settings: Commissioners now have the ability to turn on/off or allow users to keep individual settings for Heat Seeker tackling, Ball Hawk, and Switch assist.
Personnel Logic Improvements: New guidelines for CPU draft logic to assist teams in whether they should or should not have interest in drafting a first round QB.
Mouthpieces can now be applied in all new franchises, we are working to have this update come to existing leagues moving forward.

MEGA HIVE
The Mega Hive is a single-player chain of eight missions that tests your team’s might. Each week, you’ll have a shot at completing the Mega Hive mission chain. When you defeat all eight missions, the Mega Hive mission chain is removed from the War Table until the next weekly refresh, when you can run it again with new modifiers.
This week’s modifiers include:
Pressure: No automatic recovery of Willpower when critically injured
Maelstrom: All heroics charge at a significantly increased rate. Entering critical health drains all Heroic energy
Oasis: Regen Packs have increased Willpower benefit
Goliath: Significantly increased presence of Exos
Weekly Rewards: As you progress through the Mega Hive, rewards start as basic gear, resources, and small amounts of cosmetic currency. The more missions you survive, the resource drops increase. As you near the final mission, you’ll see better gear and artifacts awarded more often, and increased chances for patterns/nameplates. When you complete all eight Mega Hive missions, you’ll be rewarded with exclusive goodies reserved for this gauntlet, including a significant amount of high-quality resources..
Modifiers are game changers! Check out some pro-tips from our team that will help you prepare for this week’s challenges!
Pressure: Recovering Willpower by any means necessary is key when Pressure is active. Utilize Takedowns, regenerative nanite containers, and skills that boost the chance of enemies dropping Regen Packs to ensure that sustaining critical injuries isn’t always a recipe for a quick defeat.
Maelstrom: Keeping Willpower high and utilizing Heroics soon after they’re ready is key to maximizing the benefits of the Maelstrom modifier. Focusing on gear that boosts the Resolve or Valor stats is also an effective strategy.
Collider: Equip any gear that provides additional Particle damage or increases the rate at which the Particle status meter builds to really heat things up when Collider is active.
Ring in the new year with new styles! This week’s Marketplace spread features brand new Nameplates from Ms. Marvel, Iron Man, Black Widow and Captain America. You can also find Legendary outfits like Widow’s “Infiltrator”, Hulk’s “Gladiator” and Captain America’s “Ultimate Patriot”.
The Marketplace is a place for us to feature purchasable cosmetics in the form of Outfits, Emotes, Takedowns, and Nameplates. The Marketplace’s Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary items rotate weekly, and can be purchased with Credits.
Community Challenge
Team up with the global player base to meet mega-goals and unlock rewards.
Goal: Smash 55,000,000 Enemies via Melee
Reward: 500 Units
We’re hoping the next big patch for the game will be announced soon as well.

One of the most iconic moments in fighting game history just got a pretty awesome fan made tribute, as French 2d animator sueng_cheng made a fan animated sequence of the infamous “Daigo Parry” — better known to the fighting game community as “Evo Moment #37”.
As shared by Twitter user Catsuka, here’s the pretty awesome clip made by Cheng featuring Ken Masters making an epic comeback against Chun-Li.
For those who don’t know about Evo Moment #37, it refers to the match between pro fighting game players Daigo Umehara and Justin Wong — when both competitors faced one another during the semi-finals of the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike portion of the Evolution Championship Series in 2004. Taking place in August 1 of that year in California, Daigo made an unexpected and epic comeback with his character Ken, as he was already on the ropes facing Justin’s Chun-Li with only one pixel of life left. As Justin set to deliver the finish with Chun-Li’s Super Art, Daigo retaliated back by parrying all 15 hits of the super without getting damage, and managed to score the win to the cheers and amusement of the crowd watching that day.
You have to see it to believe it for yourselves if you’ve never ever played a Street Fighter game, and this moment arguably inspired many others to play the game and follow in the footsteps of these pro players.

Fans of Capcom’s immensely popular Monster Hunter franchise might want to get their Nintendo Switch consoles ready for download, as the publisher has announced that Monster Hunter Rise limited-time demo is now available at the Nintendo eShop for download, as well as releasing a couple of videos for the game — including the Wyvern Riding and some Hunting 101 videos following the Monster Hunter Digital Event live stream.
Here’s the details on the limited-time demo via Press Release from the Monster Hunter Rise team:
■ Limited-Time Demo
The demo has four quest types available: a Beginner Quest, an Intermediate Quest, a Basic Training Quest, and a Wyvern Riding Training Quest, which will help you get used to the new Wyvern Riding feature. Of course, all 14 weapon types are playable.
The Beginner Quest and Intermediate Quest can of course be played solo, but they are also available in local co-op and online co-op.
For this demo, you’ll get to explore the Shrine Ruins. This is a great locale for learning about the Wirebug and the new stat-boosting endemic life featured in this game.
The Beginner Quest features Great Izuchi, while the Intermediate Quest has you take on Mizutsune, which we revealed today. Of course, you’ll be able to take a Palamute and / or Palico with you, so you can experience riding a Canyne and receiving various kinds of support from your Buddies.
The Basic Training Quest will teach you how to use the Wirebug, and the Wyvern Riding Training Quest will let you try out the new Wyvern Riding feature. Wyvern Riding is a new system that allows you to control monsters for a while, by dealing enough damage through aerial attacks or Silkbind attacks using the Wirebug, or by using turf wars or endemic life to your advantage. While controlling wild monsters, you can move around and attack, and you can even slam them into walls, so this is definitely something you’ll want to check out.
Here’s the Wyvern Riding trailer for the game

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have today announced the Neverwinter next expansion called “Sharandar.” Launching this February 9 on PC, and on March 9 on consoles, this is the first of a three-episode module.
Head on below for the teaser trailer and our first info straight from the press release.
In Neverwinter: Sharandar, an unsettling darkness creeps across the Feywild and the age-old elven stronghold of Sharandar. Brutish creatures kill any foolish enough to enter the lands once held by Malabog the Fomorian King. Deep in the forest, rumors of an ancient fey being, together with scattered bands of Malabog’s minions, seek to conquer Sharandar and seize its arcane secrets.
The story of Neverwinter: Sharandar is experienced over three episodes. The first episode, The Iron Tooth launches February 9 on PC and March 9 on console. Adventurers are sent to the Ruins of Malabog to investigate the disappearance of an elven dignitary. This episode introduces new and returning players to the Feywild lands of Sharandar, in which they’ll find the New Sharandar social hub, the Ruins of Malabog Adventure Zone, and the Vault of Stars dungeon, along with epic rewards.
The next two episodes, Episode 2: The Soul Keeper and Episode 3: The Odious Court, continue the story of Neverwinter: Sharandar at a later date. Players have the chance to experience the transformation of Sharandar as they take on the sinister new threat revealed in the first episode and push back the darkness. More details, including features, for these episodes will be revealed soon.
Once the expansion drops, we’ll let our readers know.
Fighting game fans and those who follow The King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown games are going to feel pretty disappointed, as SNK made the impromptu announcement that they are postponing their announcements for The King of Fighters 15 and Season Pass 3 of Samurai Shodown — rescheduling the reveals for an unspecified later date instead.
Here’s the unexpected tweet of the postponement from SNK themselves, who have also apologized to those looking forward to the news.
We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the announcements. We will inform our fans as soon as the new date and time has been confirmed, and appreciate your kind understanding. #SNK
SNK previously promised that the start of 2021 would also see the full announcement of KOF 15 — which has only confirmed the return of three fighters — namely Kyo Kusanagi, Benimaru Nikaido, and KOF 14 protagonist Shun’ei. No release date or gameplay trailer for the game has been revealed yet and it was expected that we would be seeing our first glimpse or tease of the new sequel. Samurai Showdown was also supposed to have more information revealed for Season Pass 3, however it looks like SNK fans will have to be a little bit more patient for that.
Be sure to check out more news and features about KOF 15, Samurai Shodown, and other SNK games right here on MP1st.
The King of Fighters 15 currently has no release details, while Samurai Showdown is already available for PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC
