If you’re a Destiny player, possibly one of the best moments of the game is when a Public Event occurs and everyone teams up for the common good. While there are instances of that happening, there wasn’t a lot of variation to these Public Events which caused some players to not care whenever it happened.
Hopefully, that won’t be the case for Destiny 2. Check out a few of the Destiny 2 Public Events in action in the videos below.
I’ll let you be the judge if they’re different enough from Destiny 1’s or from each other.
In other Destiny 2 news, remember how annoying it was to get Exotics in the first game? You had to wait for Xur, needed Three of Coins and so on. Well, in Destiny 2, that’s going to change — at least somewhat. Apparently, Exotic Engrams can be dropped by enemies by doing patrols, Public Events (like the ones above), and other missions!
Given we don’t know what exactly this new Exotic Engram will or can be, we’ll reserve judgement for now. But this is definitely welcome news. Let’s just hope there’s not another set of gear and weapons that will require their own currency in Destiny 2.
Blizzard just laid a lot of info down for Overwatch’s upcoming Season 6. First off, each season of Competitive Play will now last for only two months instead of three, though the CP you earn will be adjusted for the shorter season.
This will mean that players will earn more CP per win. In addition to this tweak, Skill Rating will also undergo a big change, as players will now have to play only five games per week instead of the standard seven. The decay will be halved from 25 SR to 50 too.
These changes will also affect the matches themselves. Control maps in Competitive will now be a best of three instead of a best of five. There’s a lot more changes, so go watch the video above and let Overwatch Game Director Jeff Kaplan talk yuo through it.
In a post on the Battle.net, Blizzard has also announced updates on skill tiers and how they’re calculated after a win/loss. Silver, Gold , Platinum and Diamond players, you can now be dropped into lower tiers!
Players in Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond can now drop into lower skill tiers
We’ve made some adjustments to how skill rating is calculated after a win/loss
SKILL TIER UPDATES
Players in Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond will now be moved into lower skill tiers if they cannot consistently maintain the minimum skill rating for that tier. After a loss, the game will check to see what a player’s current tier and skill rating are—if their skill rating has not exceeded the minimum for their current tier for the past five games, they will be demoted. (Players will never be demoted on a win.)
Don’t worry: Competitive Points awarded at the end of a season will still be based on the highest tier earned that season. So, for example, if you reached Platinum during Season 6, but ended the season in Gold, you will still receive a number of Competitive Points based on your Platinum ranking.
SKILL RATING UPDATES
We’ve adjusted the calculations that determine how much skill rating players will gain after a win and lose after a loss. These changes should help address some of the anomalies players have been reporting, especially with heroes that have lower win-rates. We’ll continue tuning this system and are committed to making additional adjustments so that players are encouraged to play the hero they feel gives their team the best chance to win a competitive match.
Overwatch’s Season 5 will end next week, August 28, at 5 p.m. PT, with Season 6 beginning on August 21 at 5 p.m. PT.
With Destiny 2’s release date just a few weeks out, Bungie is ramping up the marketing and implementing game features already. One of these said features are Destiny 2 clans.
What are Destiny 2 clans? Well, for those who were unfortunate enough to not be in one, here’s Bungie’s official description straight from their website.
DESTINY 2 CLANS
Clans are optional groups of friends that you can join to enhance your online gaming experience. Band together under your clan banner and forge bonds fighting the darkness; all while earning some sweet loot. Join or start your own with friends to get in on the fun!
You can have a clan banner, chat, organize games and more.
The DestinyiOS and Android apps have been updated as well to accommodate Destiny 2.
Finally, there’s a trailer for Destiny 2 out and this one introduces Hawthorne (and Louis). Check the short clip above to see the new character.
Do you want a Destiny 2 MP1st clan? If so, let us know in the comments and we’ll sort it out.

Fancy working for the legendary Naughty Dog, helping to make the best gaming experiences around? Well, if you’re an experienced game developer, read down to see the list of open positions for September 2017.
If you’re not an experienced game developer, fret not, for there’s some interesting information to be inferred from the job listings. Take a look:
With Naughty Dog having finished up with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, it’s now full steam ahead on The Last of Us Part II. Could these job listings be for that game? The original had a cracking player versus player component, so maybe the new game designers will be helping to make The Last of Us Part II multiplayer great. “Multiplayer Layout” and “Multiplayer Systems” stand out to me!
Of course, the tweet does say “on the next Naughty Dog” game, so that may be pointing to a completely new title. Could Naughty Dog be grinding out another Uncharted spin-off, or maybe even a new IP?

Built in partnership with the community, Battlefield 1 Incursions brings the authenticity of Battlefield 1 to a contained, small-scale battle.
Are you looking forward to a more competitive Battlefield 1 experience? Do you think it will work well? Can you imagine seeing Battlefield eSports in the future? Let us know.
A new Dirty Bombupdate has been unleashed upon the game. A press release detailing the patch describes it as the “most significant update yet” for the free-to-play shooter. Fresh additions to the game include: a new party system, an updated map, a new character named “Javelin”, reworked Merc pricing, and more.
The full list of patch notes is ridiculously long, but thankfully there’s a fancy trailer showcasing the most significant additions. Watch it below!
If you really like your patch note reading, however, you can find the full list of changes right here.
Ever since the split from Nexon, Splash Damage has been showing a lot more support for the game. This is fantastic to see, and hopefully results in more players trying it out.
If you’re a PC gamer, and haven’t tried Dirty Bomb recently (or at all), then now would be a good time to give it a go!
Cross-play between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has been a hot topic, as of late. With the Ark: Survivor Evolved team stating that they’ve got cross-play between the two consoles to work, but can’t enable it for public access because Sony won’t allow it, things have been a little heated within the gaming community.
While it’s understandable that Sony is a business who doesn’t want to work with their competition, it’s still a damn shame that this functionality and evolution of the platform is being hindered in this way.
During gamescom 2017, GameReactor asked Xbox’s head of marketing Aaron Greenberg about the future of cross-play, and whether Microsoft had been discussing things further with Sony.
Absolutely, yeah. We’re talking to Sony [about crossplay], we do partner with them on Minecraft and of course we would like to enable them to be part of that; one community, to unite gamers. So we’re talking to them and we’re hopeful that they’ll be supportive of it.
I guess Sony’s response will prove whether they truly are “for the players,” or whether their priority lies elsewhere.
What game would you like to see benefit from cross-play?
Sony has once again partnered with Nacon to bring a new PS4 controller to the market. It’s called the “Revolution Pro Controller 2”, and as the name suggests, it’s a follow-up to the original Revolution Pro.
With the first iteration of the pad selling over 250,000 units since December 2016, there’s clearly a demand for what Nacon is making, and a newly improved controller should go down well.
As for what features this pad boasts over the standard DualShock 4, here’s all the details:
The Revolution Pro Controller 2 will include, among other new features, manual configuration of the four shortcut buttons – for instant adjustments, customisation of the left stick in addition to the right, plus the ability to set the directional pad with 4 or 8 directions.
Other features, requested by the gaming community, will give the Revolution Pro controller 2 even more possibilities:
New improved customisation software UI
Customisation software compatibility with Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)/10.12 (Sierra) systems
Fully customisable left stick and right sticks (dead zone and response curve)
Possibility to set the directional pad with 4 or 8 directions
Manual configuration of M1/M2/M3/M4 shortcuts on PS4™ Pro Control mode
In addition to the above features, the Revolution Pro Controller 2 is fully PC compatible* and equipped with a new USB Type-Cwired connection for a simpler and safer use of the controller.
The Nacon Revolution Pro Controller 2 will be releasing “in the course of summer 2017,” throughout Europe, Africa, Middle East, Russia, India, and Oceania. More information on pricing and availability in other regions will be “unveiled soon.”
Everyone’s favorite fake sport, Rocket League, is heading to the Nintendo Switch! While it’s set to hit Nintendo’s console-handheld hybrid later this year, it’ll do so with some Nintendo-centric stuff, which will be released for free.
Ever wanted to see a Mario-themed car kick a gigantic ball? Check out the trailer to see the various Nintendo cars (Mario NSR, Luigi NSR, Samus Gunship) in action. This special inclusion isn’t stopping there; the color of your car also depends on what side/team you’re on, too. Each car also has exclusive accessories with the Mario and Luigi cars getting Super Star Rocket Boosts, and the Samus Gunship car getting a Wave Beam Rocket Boost.
If you’re already playing Rocket League and want to take it on the go, then the Nintendo Switch version might just right be your alley when it releases later this year.

Engagements are fast and deadly in the dangerous, frozen woodland ruins. Stay alert in this medium size map fortified with emplaced MG42 machine guns waiting to annihilate enemy combatants.

Fortniteplayers be aware that there’s some bug squashing going down. And it’s a very good kind of bug squashing, especially for Xbox One users, as Fortnite patch 1.4.8 includes a fix for those pesky sign-in errors which take place during anXbox Live service outage.
It isn’t the longest list of improvements, but more crash fixes are definitely appreciated!
BUG FIXING

Still playing Fortnite? Happy with the support Epic Games is giving the game?
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a huge success, welcoming over eight million players into its deadly battle royale arms. That’s eight million people, all experiencing the exact same map.
Erangel is the only available map currently available in the game, and sure it’s massive, but a change of scenery would be nice after spending hundreds and hundreds of hours playing.
Other players seem to feel the same way, pushing for more information about any upcoming map additions. Happily, during their gamescom 2017 keynote, developer Bluehole released a new work-in-progress image of their upcoming desert map. It was then tweeted out and is viewable below.
This is a shot of the city area, and wow it looks absolutely crammed full of buildings. I can see a lot of hiding spots and opportunities for sneaky plays, but also room for intense gunfights as players move from cover to cover.
Heavily built-up areas are notorious within the PUBG community, as they can cause the game’s frame-rate to chug. I imagine anyone with a mid- or low-range PC is feeling a little anxious about parachuting into that area…
Of course, the map is still being worked on, as is PUBG‘s level of optimization. Here’s hoping it plays great!
What do you think of how the new desert map is looking? Happy about this environment, or want to see something different? I’m hoping a snow map is next!
If you’re playing Rainbow Six Siege multiplayer and got kicked out, don’t fret, it’s not your connection. Ubisoft has announced some Rainbow Six Siege down time due to “emergency maintenance” that will last for an hour.
Emergency Maintenance incoming to take care of some back end tasks.
While the private PlayStation 4 Call of Duty: WWII beta is set to kick off this Friday, fans can watch an exhibition match played right now live from the gamescom showfloor!
Just what will we see? Your guess is as good as mine, but let’s hope it showcases the new War game mode, and maybe a closer look at the weapons. You can watch the live Call of Duty: WWII match in the Twitch stream below.
Want in on the Call of Duty: WWII private beta on PS4? Make sure to check back on the site later today and on Pixel Enemy since we’ll be giving some away!
