Divinity: Original Sin 2 Update 1.007 Released on March 5

With Larian Studios shadow dropping the current-gen (PS5, Xbox Series X|S) version of Divinity: Original Sin 2 in December last year, most people assumed that was it for the game’s native current-gen version.

Apparently, that’s not the case, as Larian Studios has released Divinity: Original Sin 2 update 1.007 (complete version 1.007.000) on consoles today.

This is understandably a minor update that aims to resolve performance issues and frame rate drops.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Performance Improved for PS5, Xbox Series X|S via Update 1.007

Here’s what Larian had to say about today’s title update:

Changes

  • Resolved some issues causing performance and FPS drops on Xbox.
  • Fixed a bug preventing you from equipping items even if the equipment conditions were met.
  • Improvements to loading speed for some savegames.
  • The Teleportation skill should now allow you to move items on Xbox.
  • Fixed multiplayer disconnection issues on Xbox.

Don’t expect a lot of patches for the game given it is feature-complete and was just ported to current-gen platforms.

In case you didn’t know, a new Divinity game is in development and will be “way better” than Baldur’s Gate 3, claims Larian’s CEO.

Once a new patch is out, or we hear more about the new Divinity game, we’ll let our readers know.

Highguard and Other Live-Service Games Are Just Investor Bets, Says Developer

Wildlight Entertainment has confirmed that Highguard will no longer be available starting March 14, as its servers are shutting down.

Highguard’s debut now joins the list of short-lived live-service titles such as Concord. Despite repeated failures, companies continue to release similar projects. According to developer Tyler Glaiel, this ongoing trend is largely driven by investor pressure.

Live-Service Games Like Highguard Are High-Risk Bets

Glaiel, who has worked on games like Mewgenics and The End Is Nigh, explained on X that games as a service (GAAS) are essentially bets made by shareholders. He said titles like Highguard and Concord are built on a very small chance of success.

“Every game like highguard / concord / etc is essentially gambling by investors because a 5% of the game taking off and making 1 billion dollars means its positive expected value to bet up to 50 million dollars on it,” Glaiel said.

According to him, there may be only a 5% chance that a game becomes a hit. However, if it succeeds, it could generate over a billion dollars in revenue. That possible reward is what motivates investors to fund projects that can cost 50 million dollars or more. For large shareholders, this amount is small compared to the potential return.

In the case of Highguard, a major part of the funding came from Tencent. Once the project failed to deliver results, the company quickly pulled its support.

“They know ahead of time a flop is likely. It doesn’t matter for those who have billions to bet cause they can do that enough times to get something that actually does work out and covers the losses on the rest,” Glaiel added.

The biggest risk is not taken by shareholders, but by the studios caught in this system. Wildlight experienced major layoffs after Highguard was shut down, just as the developers of Concord did.

Glaiel also said that “it’s mostly pointless to try and analyze “what could they have done differently / where did they miss the mark here?” because it’s basically like trying to suggest how you should change which lottery numbers you pick next time.”

His comments apply to many companies. In his view, they are all chasing the next Fortnite, hoping to secure a massive and steady source of income.

ARC Raiders Update 1.000.027 for March 5 Is a Hotfix for an Odd Tech Issue

Just the other day, Embark Studios released a hotfix for ARC Raiders that fixed a weapon exploit. It seems there’s a bug or two that managed to escape the developers’ grasp, as another hotfix has been released today, March 5.

ARC Raiders update 1.000.027 is live on all platforms now, and this is to fix a technical issue that plagued gamers from jumping into the game.

Read on for Embark’s explanation on what happened.

ARC Raiders Hotfix for March 5 Applies Technical Fixes via Patch 1.000.027

ARC Raiders update 1.000.025

Per Embark, “The team is also working on a hotfix to address an issue where the Discord SDK logged excessive user information. Rest assured that your private and/or personal data was not sent outside your machine and Embark has not (and will not) review or keep such information. We will disable the Discord SDK logging and are conducting a deeper audit to ensure no further issues. If you have questions or concerns, please contact our support team.”

Adding to that message, the developers said they have “manually departed players who were unable to join the Expedition. Please check your Raider’s status and if you’re still stuck, reach out to support by submitting a bug report for missing rewards.”

Embark has confirmed via their Discord that the hotfix is live now, and players will need to restart their game client to download it. There are no gameplay-related fixes or changes in today’s title update.

Expect another update to be released soon, and that’s part of the Q1 roadmap plans, which mentions Flashpoint as the next major update hitting the game this March.

EA Sports FC 26 Patch 1.5.0 Released for Gameplay Adjustments via Update 1.18 /1.000.017

EA Sports FC 26 version 1.5.0 is out on all platforms, and this brings more than your standard bug fixes. Console gamers will see this download appear as EA Sports FC 26 update 1.18/1.000.017, and this also applies a slew of gameplay-related improvements.

There are a bunch of before and after gameplay adjustments rolled out via today’s patch, as well as changes to Career, and more.

For the complete patch notes, including short clips on the gameplay changes made, read on.

EA Sports FC 26 March Update Applies Gameplay Changes

Gameplay

The following changes have been made that affect PlayStyles, Passing, And Shooting:

Passing

  • Improved accuracy and speed of ground passing, with impact being most noticeable on players with higher passing attributes.
  • Added the ability for players without the Incisive Pass PlayStyle but with high attributes in Short Pass, Long Pass, and Curve to contextually curve through balls.
  • Reduced the accuracy of lofted passes.
    • By lofted passes, we are referring to double tapping the ground pass or through pass button

Power Shot

  • Improved the trajectory of Power Shots to increase the potential of scoring from longer ranges.
  • Increased Power Shot accuracy when taken with the Power Shot PlayStyle and PlayStyle+

Chip Shot

  • Tuned Chip Shots to be less likely to go wide.
  • Increased accuracy of Chip Shots.
    • Players with the Chip Shot PlayStyle perform Chip Shots with additional accuracy.

Tiki Taka PlayStyle

  • To avoid overly accurate passing and decrease some of the gap between passing with and without PlayStyles, the accuracy of ground and first-time passes with the Tiki Taka PlayStyle has been reduced.
  • Ground passes performed with Tiki Taka PlayStyle still benefit from the overall improvements in accuracy and speed listed above, ensuring the PlayStyle remains a useful attacking option.

Inventive PlayStyle

  • The accuracy of lofted ground and through passes using the Inventive PlayStyle and Inventive PlayStyle+ has been slightly increased.
    • This is to slightly compensate for the accuracy reduction to lofted passes mentioned in the passing section. With the PlayStyle+, lofted passes will still be slightly less accurate than before the patch
    • By lofted passes, we are referring to double tapping the ground pass or through pass button

Additional Gameplay Updates

We’ve also made two updates to address certain areas of gameplay brought to our attention by the community.

  • Skill Moves
    • Increased the speed of Fake Shot, Heel Chop, and Feint and Exit by 5%

Positioning

  • Addressed an issue where attacking players could remain stationary after repositioning

Career

New Career content will be released over the next few weeks, including new Live Starting Points and ICONs in Player Career. Season 6 kicks off with adding Ronaldinho, Gareth Bale, Fernando Torres, and Aya Miyama to the rotation, with more ICONs to come in future weeks.

Alongside new content, we’ve also made the following changes regarding Live Starting points, Dynamic Development Plans, and player contracts:

  • Introduced Dynamic Development Plans to Career to more closely reflect a player’s role
    • When starting a new save, Training Plans will be automatically pre-selected based on the player’s closest available role
    • For example, if a striker has a Target Forward role, that striker will be assigned to a Target Forward development plan rather than the default option
    • Dynamic Development Plans will adapt to Tactic changes to further aid player development across the season and ensure that players develop in line with your vision without constant manual update
  • Added a new visual Pitch Wear setting when starting a new save
    • This reflects seasonal weather conditions but will be to OFF by default

  • Improved player contract extension behaviour when using the Normal setting
    • Players with less than a year on their contract will already be open to negotiation when you join a new club
    • At the start of a new season, around 50% of players with expiring contracts will be open to negotiation
    • If you start a Live Starting Point or switch to a new job mid-season, more players will be open to negotiation as you get closer to the end of the season

Clubs

The following Archetype changes have been made in Clubs, these changes will go live in a server release after Title Update 1.5.0:

  • Archetype Level Cap
    • Increased the cap from 80 to 90
  • Archetype Max Attributes
    • Increased the maximum range of Archetype-specific attributes
  • Archetype Customisable PlayStyle Slots
    • Increased from 7 to 8, unlocked at level 90

With a patch this significant, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a follow-up update be released.

We’ve tuned the XP gain to be very fast so players can earn points quickly and enjoy the full spectrum of the feature.

New Warden – Koldo

Koldo was discovered on Highguard. A lost soul from long before the continent disappeared, trapped inside a suit of armor, he searches for answers to his past. Koldo uses the power of his soul to protect his allies.

Passive: Guardian Angel

  • Protect any friendly orbs around you from destruction.
  • Automatically deploy your shield when reviving allies.

Tactical: Soul Shield

  • Deploy a shield for you and your allies.

Ultimate: Battle Cry

  • Koldo raises a standard that creates a protective dome. He can pick up and carry the standard, and drop it again at will.
  • Being inside the dome gives allies faster health regeneration.

New Weapon – The Switchback

The Switchback brings unparalleled versatility, comfortably handling both close range and long range encounters. When used in hipfire, it’s a shotgun. Aiming down the sights will transition the weapon into a marksman rifle.

The name “Switchback” originates from its unique double-barrel design. You’re able to rapidly shoot twice before needing a rechamber, though you also can pace your shots to keep up a continuous stream of fire.

In the field, many Wardens have sought to wield the Switchback. Only a few have truly learned to master it.

Gold Versions

The Switchback has 2 gold versions that can be found in loot chests, or with Trader Flynn.

  • Basebreaker
  • Repeater

Don’t expect any bug fixes or balance changes, as the game is shutting down on March 12.

Resident Evil Requiem First Update 1.110 Released

Capcom has released the first post-release patch for Resident Evil Requiem and it’s a lot bigger than expected. Given the game isn’t a live service title, we’re not expecting anything major from patches outside of fixes — especially this early on.

Console gamers will see this download appear as Resident Evil Requiem update 1.110 (complete version 1.110.000), and it clocks in at 1.078 GB on PS5 and 1.4 GB on PC (Steam).

Read on what’s new in the horror hit’s first-ever post-release title update.

Resident Evil Requiem First Update Released Days After Release as Version 1.110

Update: After a day, Capcom has finally released the official patch notes.

PlayStation®5/xXbox Series X | S/Steam/Epic Games Store

  • Fixed an issue that prevented progression under certain conditions.
  • We’ve fixed some issues to make the game more enjoyable.

Steam/Epic Games Store

  • Fixed a bug with the behavior of Path Tracing.
  • Fixed a cosmetic glitch that occurred when upscaling.

Epic Games Store

  • Fixed a bug where the processing load temporarily increased when acquiring achievements.

So far, Capcom hasn’t acknowledged today’s update just yet, though we’re expecting that to change very soon.

Some of the things that got changed:

  • Drainage room, black artefacting when zombie bodies drop are now fixed
  • Broke RE framework support for mods, so don’t be surprised to see crashes
  • At least on PC, game is now required to be connected online to Steam to play

Some of the issues the game is suffering from, which we can’t 100% verify if it’s fixed wth today’s update or not:

  • W870 Police shotgun visual glitch after updating the weapon’s stock
  • Game crashing when changing upscaling settings on PC
  • Frame rate drops when interacting with certain objects or opening and closing item chests
  • White spots with high ray-tracing on

Once Capcom releases the full changelog, expect the article to be updated with the info.

If you’re on the fence whether to pick the game up or not, check out our spoiler-free review to see whether it’s your cup of zombie tea or not.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remake Confirmed, Ubisoft Shares Future Plans for the Series

Ubisoft has shared new details about the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise and has officially confirmed that a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is in development.

The information comes from a long post published on the company’s official website, where Ubisoft discussed the direction of the series and some of the projects currently in progress.

Ubisoft Talks About the Future of Assassin’s Creed and Confirms the Black Flag Remake

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced

The remake, titled Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, had already been heavily rumored, and even some international rating boards had listed it. Now, Ubisoft has made it official. The game will bring back the adventure of Edward Kenway. However, no additional details were shared, aside from the confirmation and a first image.

Ubisoft also mentioned that Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is now in its final phase of support. The game will get smaller and less frequent updates, with a “few surprises” still planned. At the same time, the team will start focusing more on the future of Assassin’s Creed.

Ubisoft Shares Update on Codename Hexe Development

The company provided a brief update on Codename Hexe, the upcoming title set in Europe during the witch trials. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, but it is still far from release.

Ubisoft said the team is working with great care on this darker and more narrative-driven experience. Because of the ambitious vision, the company stated that it will take the necessary time to complete it, and there may not be new updates for a while.

Codename Invictus Is Progressing Steadily With a Test-and-Learn Approach

In addition, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Codename Invictus is in development. This will be a multiplayer experience handled by Ubisoft Montreal and developed by a team that includes veterans from For Honor. According to Ubisoft, “it’s a new approach to multiplayer in the franchise, but it isn’t quite what the rumors have suggested.”

Beyond these, the mobile game Assassin’s Creed Jade is still in development as well, after a long period without any updates.

There is also good news for fans of older titles. A 60 FPS update for Assassin’s Creed: Unity will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Finally, Ubisoft confirmed that it is thinking about bringing back cooperative gameplay to the series. The company also revealed that one Assassin’s Creed project was recently canceled during early development. However, Ubisoft said that the lessons learned from that canceled project will help shape future games.

In addition to video games, Ubisoft is continuing to work on other media projects related to the franchise. More news about the live-action Assassin’s Creed series for Netflix is expected soon.

Dying Light 2 Update 1.90/1.090 Sneaks Out on March 4

Techland has silently released a new game update for Dying Light 2: Stay Human today. March 4. While we can’t vouch for other platforms, we can confirm the PS4 and PS5 versions received updates today, which will bring the zombie game to Dying Light 2 version 1.90/1.090, respectively.

This is a minor update, as the Dying Light 2 community continues to fight the zombies to hit that Outbreak community target.

Read on for the latest development for Dying Light 2.

Dying Light 2 Receives New Minor Patch on March 4

Unfortunately, Techland has not commented on today’s patch, which is strange given how the studio has been very communicative when it comes to game updates.

Chances are, these are technical fixes, or they are tied to the Quarantine Zone’s final dispatch. Speaking of which, for the last 48 hours of the challenge, Daytime Outbreak Volatiles are active, with Elemental Goons and Demolishers also present in infected districts!

Players should expect non-stop pressure, but enemies can drop elemental weapons on the field, so keep an eye out for that. For the duration, XP is now 2.5x, a new buff increases overall damage and the stamina boost remains active.

The last week of the Infected Outbreak sees players scrambling to reach the event milestone, and to date, players still need about 2.4 million to get the job done. A call for more help has gone out on the game’s Steam page, even.

Q: Which kills counts? Where do I need to do it? And how do I maximize my efforts ?

A: Kill the light blue hazmat zombies in the zones marked with the biohazard symbol (check the in-game map) . To maximize kills, use the howlers (but don’t kill them, just walk a bit far away), which will summon the light blue hazmat runners. Do that until you feel like!

Q: I can’t see the East Borought from my map? What do I do?

A: Sadly, if you don’t do a certain action in the story, you can’t do much except search for howlers on the bridge that isn’t submerged in the water. Focus your effort on killing the light blue hazmat zombies on Quarry End and Garrison.

The reward for reaching 5,000,000 is the GRE Pistol, while reaching 6.5M is a secret one for now.

If we get any notes from Techland, we’ll update the article with the info.

Report: Sony Is Turning Its Back on Porting PlayStation Games to PC

In recent years, PC gamers have been eating well, as not only have they enjoyed the benefits of Steam’s super-low prices, but they have also been able to experience Sony’s first-party games — albeit a year late.

It seems that’s about to change very soon, according to a new report, and it will even affect games that are already released on PS5.

However, it won’t mean the entirety of PlayStation’s catalog will be scrapped from showing up on PC, but simply the big single-player games that are arguably the reason why the PlayStation platform is doing as well as it is.

Don’t Expect Ghost of Yotei and Saros to Appear on PC Anytime Soon

In a report by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg (paywalled), it mentions how Sony Corp. no longer has plans to release its big PS5 games on PC, which is a major shift in release strategy given almost every big AAA release on the PS5 has made its way to PC months later.

According to people familiar with Sony’s plans, online games such as Marathon and Marvel Tokon will still be released across multiple platforms, but those highly coveted single-player games that Sony’s first-party studios pump out? Nope, that’s not happening.

The report mentions how Ghost of Yotei and even the upcoming Housemarque game Saros will be exclusive to the PS5. According to people who asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to talk about Sony’s strategy, things could change in the future, but for now, plans to port Yotei and Saros have since been scrapped.

Games made by external developers but published by PlayStation, such as Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and the upcoming Kena: Scars of Kosmora, are still planned for release on PC later this year.

So why the sudden change? Some of the reasons thrown around are how PlayStation games have not sold well on PC, and there’s also a “faction within PlayStation” that has expressed concern that releasing PlayStation games on PC risks damaging the console’s brand and hurting sales of the PS5 and its console successors.

For now, Sony is said to be taking a more straightforward approach to releases and that’s goling back to console exclusives. Bear in mind, this is still unofficial, but given Schreier ‘s track record, it’s hard not to take this as fact.

As of press time, Sony has declined to comment on this report, but if we do hear anything official connected to this, we’ll let our readers know.

Speaking of games, if you’re looking to snatch something up on the cheap, check out the ongoing Dealmania sale on the PSN Store.

Code Vein 2 Update 1.004 Released in March Applies Balance Adjustments, More Patches Dropping This Month

Action-RPG Code Vein 2 just got a new game update from Bandai Namco Studios, and this isn’t for your standard bug fixes, as this also includes balance changes.

Console gamers will see Code Vein 2 update 1.004 (complete version 1.004.000) live on consoles and PC, and this applies a good amount of balance adjustments.

Not only that, but the developers even shared some of the upcoming changes due for release later this month,

Code Vein 2 First March Update Applies Balance Changes

Ver.1.0.4 / 1.0.5 (March 3)

Focus: Targeted Performance Tweaks
PS5 / XSX|S / STEAM

  • Lowered the physics processing demand on certain bosses.
    CPU — Frame Rate Stabilization
  • Eased the performance spikes caused by auto-saving while moving.
    CPU — Stutter Reduction
  • Resolved bugs that were causing unnecessary system strain.
CPU — Frame Rate Stabilization / Stutter Reduction

Focus: “Action Priority” Mode Tuning
PS5 / XSX|S / STEAM

  • Lightened the processing load while playing in “Action Priority” mode.
    GPU — Frame Rate Stabilization

Performance & Stability Improvements

CPU
Combat Processing Load Reduction & Frame Rate Improvements:

  • Reduced the processing load (calculation volume) for certain boss enemies to mitigate frame rate drops.

CPU
Field Exploration Processing Adjustments:

  • Reduced processing load in certain dungeons.
  • Reduced hitching by adjusting frequency of auto-saves during movement.

GPU
“Action Priority” Mode Optimization (PS5 & Xbox Series X|S only):

  • Reduced the gameplay processing load when the “Action Priority” mode is selected.

CPU
Enemy-Related Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the model calculation processing for certain field enemies unintentionally increased (resulting in excessive CPU load).

CPU
Fast Travel Bug Fixes (Steam only):

  • Fixed an issue where the frame rate would significantly drop after using fast travel.

Action Balance Adjustments

To ensure a proper balance of action advantage between the player and enemies, we have made the following adjustments:

Player Action Adjustments

  • Reduced the recovery time (the time before defense or evasion becomes possible) after attacks, staggering, being knocked down, using “Regeneration,” and using items.
  • Increased rolling speed and reduced the recovery time after a roll.
  • Increased the speed of certain attack actions (various magic formats / normal attacks for the “Hammer” weapon category).

Enemy Adjustments

  • Adjusted the action intervals for certain boss enemies to increase the player’s attack opportunities.
  • Reduced the invincibility time when enemies are knocked down and extended the time available for follow-up attacks.
  • Resolved an issue where certain field enemies were overly difficult to stagger.
  • Reduced the frequency at which boss enemies perform “attack actions in response to player healing.”

Parameter Adjustments

  • Based on the action adjustments above, we’ve tuned the “ease of staggering enemies” and “ease of breaking enemies” parameters tied to player attacks.
  • Rebalanced instances where the “ease of staggering enemies” was either too high or too low.
  • Adjusted the balance for instances where the “ease of breaking enemies” was too high.

Character Customization Additions

  • Improved player walking and running animations.
  • Improved sound effects (SE) upon successful execution of specific actions (parrying, back attacks, and breaks).

Alongside today’s changes, Bandai Namco outlined some of the changes inbound this month via a different title update.

PS5 / XSS|X / Steam

  • Reduced the physics strain for enemies and NPCs out in the world.
    CPU – Frame Rate Stabilization
  • Lowered the performance hit when enemies spawn in.
    CPU – Stutter Reduction

2026 March~ – Ver. 1.0.7~

Focus: Field Loading Optimization

PS5 / XSS|X / Steam

  • Optimized how the game loads in collision, enemies, and NPC paths, zeroing in on areas where we’ve seen stuttering happen.
CPU – Frame Rate Stabilization / Stutter Reduction

Focus: VFX Processing Load Reduction

PS5 / XSS|X / Steam

  • Reduced the processing load during enemy spawns.
    GPU – Frame Rate Stabilization

Once the other updates are live, we’ll let our readers know, so stay tuned.
