Unlock Requirements For Battlefield Hardline’s Dinosaur And Wolf Masks Revealed

You might remember this handful of early Battlefield Hardline gameplay videos that popped up last February, revealing an unlock that allows players to equip special masks in the form of a Dinosaur or Wolf head.

Without any clues provided by developer Visceral Games on how to unlock these peculiar gadgets, one gamer has figured it out nearly two weeks after launch.

According to Devin of Diesel Gaming, the unlock requirement for both masks is awfully time-consuming, albeit quite simple. To equip either mask, one must be carrying at least $10 million ($10,000,000) in in-game cash on their character. That’s not accumulatively, but at once.

Here’s a couple images of the masks on his character.

So, there you have it. Start saving.

According to Battlefield Hardline’s Premium announcement, additional masks “with unique gameplay benefits tied to the theme of each mask” will be available to subscribers in the future.

Call of Duty Championship 2015 Day One Recap – 16 Teams Advance To Playoffs

Day one of the Call of Duty Championship 2015 has concluded as 16 out of the 32 teams that competed in today’s group play will advance to tomorrow’s playoffs where only 3 teams will progress to the Championship Finals.

Excitement was in the air as competitors, press, and, for the first time, Call of Duty’s biggest fans were invited into the LA Live entertainment complex in downtown Los Angeles to kick off the first day of the 1 million dollar tournament.

Attendees were greeted in the main entrance by the official Call of Duty Championship 2015 trophy, team logos, and a special Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare display outfitted with concept art and a fully-armored, Exo Suit-equipped mannequin. Inside, spectators crowded around four smaller stages and began filling seats in the massive bleachers that faced the tournament’s main stage. The darker atmosphere and much-appreciated air conditioning provided sufficient cooling from LA’s hot 85 degree fahrenheit weather.

Below are the day one results of each group battle where the top two teams of each pool have earned a spot in tomorrow’s playoffs. Stay tuned tomorrow to watch the 16 teams progress through day two’s Upper and Lower Brackets. You’ll also find the upper round one match ups and schedule below.

More Ranked Playlists Coming In Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s April Update

Halo: The Master Chief Collection‘s next content patch, set to launch some time in April, is finally updating multiplayer with more ranked playlists and and other improvements.

“We’ll provide more about what’s included as we get closer to the release of the CU,” wrote 343 Industries Community Manager Andy “Bravo” Dudynsky. But in addition to more ranked playlists, the update will also introduce new in-game penalties to cut down on the quit rate and betrayals.

Meanwhile, team size for the Halo: CE playlist were adjusted earlier today, changing the limit from 2-3 players to strictly 2 players with additional tweaks being made to other existing and upcoming playlists before the next content patch. SWAT and Team Snipers will also make a return in the near future.

Bloodborne Patch In The Works, Will Fix Multiple Bugs – Corrupted Save-Data Workaround

A new Bloodborne patch, slated to release sometime next week, is said to squash some annoyances with From Software’s adventure-horror title.

While Bloodborne is truly an excellent PS4-exclusive, it doesn’t go without saying that there are a few issues that players all over the world have surely encountered by now, the most notable one being the long loading times.

Whenever you die or traverse to a location via the HUB, it could take nearly a full minute to load, and seeing that you’ll most likely die multiple times within just an hour, it can get somewhat annoying. From Software has stated that they are exploring a patch that is meant to improve the load times, though they didn’t mention whether it would be in the upcoming one.

As for the upcoming patch, a bug that prevents progression in the main story is currently being fixed. When a player co-ops or invades another in the Forbidden forest, a bug can occur where a key that is required later on to face another boss won’t spawn at all, preventing the player from progressing further on in the campaign. Unfortunately if you are inflicted with this bug, there isn’t a workaround as of yet. If you are nearing this area, the only advice given is don’t summon a player for co-op, nor invade another until the patch is out.

And, finally, for those who bought Bloodborne at launch and then had their PS4 update to the latest 2.50 update, you may have been inflicted with a corrupted save bug where the player could not continue, nor load up their save. Don’t panic, as there is an easy workaround, all you have to do is start a new game, and then exit back to the main menu, and load up your old save. It’ll work as if nothing ever occurred.

Bloodborne – Becoming The Most Trustful Troll In The Game

Step One: Strip naked, they always trust a naked unarmed man wandering the nightmarish abyss.

Please note, This does contain a spoiler, even though it is missable in the main story.

If you recalled last year, we released a video showing off how to troll in Dark Souls 2, and although Bloodborne does have an item that transforms you into a message (these are notes left by other players), there’s a far more memorable way of trolling, one that certainly pays tribute to Demon Souls.

All you have to do is follow the video guide in the featured slider above. It’ll walk you step-by-step on becoming the most trustful troll in video game history. Now, the pre-requirements is that you need the bell to invade players and the Nightmare Frontier area unlocked, otherwise have fun performing this next time.

For those who have unlocked the area, but don’t know how to find patches, I’ve also uploaded a short video walkthrough of Nightmare Frontier leading up to him.

[youtube id=”2WEhKnrIAh8″]

Hope you guys enjoyed this one. I know I certainly did.

Xbox One’s April System Update To Introduce Cross-Gen Voice Messages, Chat Improvements, And More – Now In Preview

Xbox One’s April update is bringing good things to the console’s party, chat, and messaging systems, Microsoft revealed today.

Now in Preview, the April System update will overhaul Xbox Live’s Party Chat by moving the service to a dedicated relay server configuration. In doing so, the change aims to drastically cut down on various network errors that users may occasionally experience while in chat. Additional improvements will make it easier to troubleshoot other setting errors that can prevent party members from using the service.

A new Voice Message feature will also allow gamers to send messages as audio, instead of text, the best part being that it will work across generations — from Xbox One to Xbox One, or Xbox One to Xbox 360.

Furthermore, the update will build on Xbox One’s Game Hubs, making them easier to discover, and will add descriptions to Achievement notifications. Lastly, new tweaks are also in store for the Xbox One’s What’s On feature.

Check out the full update notes below, courtesy of Xbox Wire, as well as the preview video above with Xbox Live’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb and Xbox Engineering’s Richard Irving.

Xbox One April Update Preview

Voice messages

“New this month is the No. 1 feature requested in the Friends and Parties area on the Xbox Feedback site > ‘Add audio message …’ Xbox One preview program members will be able to compose and playback voice messages in the messages app when snapped on Xbox One. Quickly and easily record audio to send to your friends or others through your snapped messages app accessed through a simple quick double tap of the Xbox button. Additionally, voice messages can be exchanged between Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles.”

Dedicated servers for party chat

“We are committed to continuing to make improvements to party chat, designed to improve quality, reliability, and ease of use. We’re enhancing party chat with dedicated chat relay servers. This new service will enable Xbox One owners that may have historically had NAT issues to party chat more reliably. Parties where players are unable to form direct peer-to-peer connections for party chat will automatically leverage dedicated server infrastructure to relay traffic.”

“Currently, this service is only enabled for parties where one or more members are enrolled in the Xbox One Preview program. Those preview consoles enable the service for their party chat sessions, even if some of the party participants are not part of the preview program.”

What’s On

“The Xbox engineering team is continuing to experiment with the What’s On area, which highlights popular games, movies, TV shows, game broadcasts and clips. What’s On has been available for preview members in the U.S. and this month, the preview of this feature is being expanded to Canada and the UK as well. Additionally, the ‘Staff Picks”’are now more personalized based on your recent game activity, and we’re introducing new experiments with Twitter Trending TV, and Game Clips for subsets of the preview audience.”

Your Guardian’s Vault Space Is Increasing In Destiny Update 1.1.2

Precious vault space is precious, especially when shared by multiple characters on a single account. That’s why Guarians will be happy to hear that an increase in vault size to store more your most prized possessions is coming to Destiny in Update 1.1.2, developer Bungie confirmed today.

Exactly how much extra room was revealed in the studio’s latest Weekly Update.

This April, after Update 1.1.2 rolls out on all platforms, players will be able to carry twenty-four (24) armor pieces, thirty-six (36) weapons, and twenty-four (24) general itmes in their vault. It’s a notable increase from the current twenty (20) armor pieces, twenty (20) weapons, and twenty (20) general items, but Bungie has continuing plans for even further expansion in the future.

But, as a popular community request for some time now, what took so long? According to Bungie, memory constraints were indeed a factor in the careful planning that went into providing players with more item slots.

“Our challenge was to provide an increase in storage that fit within the memory constraints that limit how many items can be displayed on one screen,” Bungie Live Team Lead M.E. Chung wrote. “This had to be accomplished by a team who is simultaneously working on future content. We opted for making sure that players would have enough slots for all Exotics from Launch through House of Wolves – thus the largest increase in slot space is for weapons.”

In the end, a few compromised had to be made, UI Engineering Lead Brad Fish explained.

“In the case of the Vault expansion, it became clear that we would be pushing very limited memory constraints on older generation hardware,” he said. “We had a choice: leave the Vault as-is, or find some kind of compromise to enable it safely. We weighed the options, with player feedback in mind, and decided to move forward with the expansion by disabling the item comparison feature within the Vault on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Item comparison will continue to function within the Vault on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and in all other contexts on all platforms.”

Look forward to more updates on future vault expansion. For now, here’s what you’re new vault will look like after Destiny Update 1.1.2.

Weapon Balance Update In Store For Battlefield Hardline’s Next Patch, Here’s What’s Changing

Efforts to deliver Battlefield Hardline’s first major weapon balance update are already in motion, according to Lead Multiplayer Designer Thad Sasser.

“A lot of people have been providing feedback on the gameplay balance, and we’ve been looking at the data and feedback (as we always do),” he wrote in a recent forum post on the Battlelog. “I do not have an ETA for you on this update yet, but once we know we’ll provide dates.”

Hardline is only one week in, but, as we noted in our review, it’s already pretty clear that some weapons are in need of an overhaul. Here’s what sort of changes the multiplayer team at Visceral Games is considering for the game’s next update:

  • K10: Reduce bullet damage to 33
  • Saiga and PTR: reduce recoil to bring more in line with Cop faction DMRs
  • HCAR and HK51: reduce recoil to bring more in line with SCAR-H and SA-58
  • .410 Jury: Increase damage per pellet to become more effective
  • FMG-9 and M/45: Increase damage per round to 25 and push out falloff start range to make these weapons more effective
  • Battlerifle min damage increased to 25 across the board
  • AKM min damage reduced to 24

Sasser added that the studio has “tested these changes and find[s] them to be good improvements, look forward to constructive feedback.”

So far, we think this is a pretty good start. What’s your take? What sort of changes do you believe are necessary?

Cowboy Exo Suit Likely Riding In With New Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Micro-DLC

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is getting adventurous with its micro-DLC offerings, which we suspect will make a return very shortly, on or around the release of the game’s second DLC pack, Advanced Warfare: Ascendance.

Sledgehammer Games Studio Head Michael Condrey tweeted this Cowboy-themed Exo Suit earlier today, hat and all, hash-tagging the upcoming multiplayer expansion that launches this coming Tuesday, March 31, on Xbox Live.

If you look closely in yesterday’s Ascendance DLC gameplay trailer, you may have also noticed this psychedelic pink Exo Suit that briefly made an appearance at around the 1:13 mark.

Screen Shot 2015-03-25 at 12.00.47 PM

While no official announcement has been made, it’s quite likely that both the Premium Exo Suit and camo, along with a few other customization items, will appear in another micro-DLC pack that will launch around the same time as Ascendance. Perhaps we’ll also hear a little more about that new weapon that Condrey was teasing earlier this week.

Stay tuned to the Call of Duty Championships this weekend where additional Ascendance DLC gameplay will debut on March 29 at 1:00PM PST.

Saber Interactive Is Bringing A Free-To-Play Halo Game To PC In Russia

Microsoft has confirmed that Russian developer Saber Interactive is working on a free-to-play, multiplayer-exclusive Halo title for the PC called Halo Onine, soon entering closed beta in Russia.

Saber Interactive is originally known for its work on other first-person shooters like TimeShift and Inversion, but it has also assisted developer 343 Industries in the creation of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The game is reported to be published by MMO outfit, Innova Systems.

According to the official Q&A, Halo Online “is set on a secret UNSC space installation called Anvil, where Spartan-IV soldiers train together in war exercises to sharpen their battle skills and test experimental technology.”

The shooter is being built specifically for a Russian audience, though any expansion outside “would have to go through region-specific changes to address player expectations.” It’s also 100% exclusive to PC and the company has “no plans to bring Halo Online to the Xbox One.”

No official launch date was given.

UPDATE: Check out the announcement trailer above and the game’s official key art below.
