Here’s What Kryptek’s Camos Might Look Like on Advanced Warfare’s Future Weaponry

Last week, we learned that outdoor apparel manufacturer Kryptek would be supplying some of the inspiration behind the weapon and uniform camoflage patterns used in Sledgehammer Game’s upcoming shooter, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The company’s official website lists ten designs in total, each corresponding to varying environments, and all which we could see in one form or another in on some of the weapons, vehicles, or soldier uniforms in Advanced Warfare.

Curious to know what some of these patterns might look like on Advanced Warfare’s high-tech arsenal of near-future weaponry, Call of Duty YouTube personality PrestigeIsKey called upon his Photoshop skills to slap all 10 of Krypteks’ designs on to Advanced Warfare’s plasma-powered rifle.

The plasma-powered weapon was originally introduced back in May and later showcased in Advanced Warfare’s debut gameplay trailer. You can catch all of PrestigeIsKey’s designs in the gallery below and his video in the featured section above.

Be sure to tell us what you think of the designs in the comments below. Think they’d work in Advanced Warfare?

Thanks for putting these together, Prestige. Awesome work!

Valve Considering DOTA 2-Style Tournament For Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

It’s hard to ignore the success Valve’s multiplayer online battle arena PC title, DOTA 2, has enjoyed since launch with immensly popular tournaments like the upcoming $10.7 million event, The International 2014. Clearly, the company is doing something right when it comes to supporting its players and online community and fostering their growth.

But now, it appears that the studio is considering extending that same sort of support to the community surrounding its most popular PC shooter, Counter-Strike: Global OffensiveValve’s Erik Johnson told Prodota.ru not to be surprised if something like The International ever became a yearly event for CS:GO.

“I don’t know if it would be called The International, but the guys working on Counter-Strike made a lot of progress on supporting the professional community around that game,” Johnson said. “We all work at the same company and share a lot of ideas, and given how successful this tournament [The International] has become I don’t see any reason why a lot of the same things couldn’t be applied directly to Counter-Strike.”

The studio has nothing to announce at the moment, but Johnson added that the overwhelmingly positive response to The International “something that’s going to be pretty difficult to ignore for any game team.”

Who among you would like to see Valve take CS:GO to the big stage?

Thanks, Gamespot

This Battlefield 4 Easter Egg Celebrates The World Cup With a Giant Soccer Ball and Fireworks

It looks like FIFA is no longer the only EA-owned football series of video games out on the market. Make way for the latest generation of Frostbite 3-powered soccer games, “Footballfield.” Prepare 4 football.

Developer DICE LA has left a neat little surprise for soccer fans inside Battlefield 4‘s Community Test Environment. Similar to the Easter Egg that celebrated July 4 earlier this month, this one celebrates the recently-concluded FIFA World Cup with an actual in-game football field and soccer ball.

DANNYonPC was able to highlight the Easter Egg found on Second Assault’s iteration of the fan-favorite Caspian Border map. The field is located just on the other side of the border, closest to the US spawn. It’s fenced off to keep the giant soccer ball from rolling out of bounds, and even has two goalie nets with fireworks that ignite upon scoring a goal.

Check out the video:

[youtube id=”oePwEoej5pM”]

Pretty cool! Shout out to DANNYonPC and his gang for keeping things clean and foul-free, though we never did see a referee on the field. Good game, regardless.

Katsuhiro Harada Confirms Tekken 7 Leak, New Trailer

Following the Marvel vs. Capcom 3’s championship final at the Evolution Fighting Championship 2014, Tekken series project lead Katsuhiro Harada took the stage to confirm the unexpected leak from earlier today.

According to the details, Tekken 7 will be built on Epic’s Unreal Engine 4 in order to “achieve visual quality expected on next-gen platforms and go beyond it.”

“Not only is Unreal Engine 4 powerful and easy to use, but it also allows us to bring Tekken 7 to any platform we desire,” Harada added.

Thus far, leaked info states the game will be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with other platforms yet to be confirmed.  Though, the quotes above imply the fighter will also be making its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

No gameplay was shown in the trailer, as most of the video related to the game’s story, calling it “The Final Battle.”

According to Harada, more details are to come July 25 during the Comic-Con fighting panel.

Mortal Kombat X – Expect At Least One Guest Character, Says Creative Director

The EVO 2014 finals are currently underway as of this writing, but in addition to great fights between pro-level players, gamers are also being treated to new information about exciting upcoming fighters like NeatherRealm Studio’s Mortal Kombat X.

Yesterday, we caught the first gameplay reveal of an iconic Mortal Kombat character, Raiden. Check it out here if you missed it.

More recently, franchise co-creator Ed Boon, dished out a few more details on what the studio is planning for post-launch support of Mortal Kombat X.

According to Boon’s interview with MadCatz (3:47:00), DLC characters are part of the plan, at least one of which will be a guest fighter from a different franchise. Additional guest characters are a possibility.

If you’ve been following NetherRealm Studios since Mortal Kombat 9, the idea of guest characters isn’t exactly new. Scorpion was a DLC character for their DCU-based fighter, Injustice: Gods Among Us, while Freddy Krueger made a DLC appearance in MK9 in addition to Kratos’ inclusion in the base game.

Mortal Kombat X is slated to be released on the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms sometime next year.

What guest fighters would you love to see make an appearance in Mortal Kombat X? Let us know in the comment section below!

The contest begins today, marking the start of “Battlefest,” a month-long Battlefield 4 festival aimed at celebrating Battlefield fans. Raiden Returns in Mortal Kombat X, Check Out His Godly Fighting Skills

NeverRealm Studios unveils ‘who’s next’ to join the Mortal Kombat X roster, launching later next year.

Closing off the Injustice: Gods Among Us finals at the Evolution Fighting Championship 2014, Mortal Kombat co-creator and franchise director Ed Boon took the stage to unveil Raiden as the latest roster addition to the upcoming fighter.

Check out Raiden’s godly fighting skills in action above. As with all characters, he’ll have three different variations called Thunder God, Displacer, and Storm Lord.

UPDATE: In a video interview with IGN, Boon described Raiden’s three different fighting styles. Raiden’s Thunder God style allows him to finish off combos with “crazy electricity blasts.” His Displacer style focuses primarily on teleporting abilities. Lastly, the Storm Lord variation gives Raiden the ability to drop “bombs” in the arena and connect them with damaging electricity.

If you’ve been following Ed Boon’s Twitter recently, then you would’ve seen the new character reveal coming a mile away. We weren’t certain exactly who it was going to be, but we had a few likely guesses.

Mortal Kombat X will release for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platform sometime in the year 2015.

Bungie ‘Doesn’t Hate Xbox Fans,’ Studio Answers The Tough Questions

With the recent announcements of specific in-game Destiny content remaining exclusive to PlayStation gamers for the duration of one year, it naturally has left entire fan-base of gamers on the other side of the fence feeling a little left out.

Earlier, not only did we learn that content exclusive to PlayStation gamers at launch would remain exclusive until Fall of next year, it’s also been indicated in Bungie’s introduction of the Destiny Expansion Pass that additional DLC content would remain exclusive for a full year as well. Unsurprisingly, Bungie is facing significant backlash from a large group of gamers who also happen to have been primary supporters of the studio throughout Halo’s life cycle on the Xbox and Xbox 360.

In this week’s Bungie Update, Destiny community manager David “DeeJ” Dague attempted to answer the tough queston, “Why do you hate your Xbox fans?”

Here’s what he had to say, though the statement specifically refers to the community the studio is hoping to build in the social space and not exclusive content:

“We don’t hate any of our fans. When we look at Bungie.net, we see gamers. We dare say that we see Bungie fans – although that might be assuming too much. Loving a good game and the hard-working developers who create it is not a console exclusive. This is one place where Guardians will truly be equal. You’ll each have a chance to become legend on this site. Our hope is that we can use this environment to talk about the amazing experiences we will all have in common. Bungie has embraced many different platforms in our storied history. We have a hard time sitting still. Our goal has been to create amazing worlds and fill them with as many passionate people as possible. What we would tell you is that, if you want to explore the world of Destiny, it was built with you in mind. We make games here at Bungie. We love the people who play them equally.”

The exclusive content and DLC issue wasn’t quite addressed, but sometimes, business is business. After all, the entire Halo series was exclusive to Xbox prior to Activision’s acquisition of Bungie. Perhaps it’s nothing personal?

What do you think? Are you a Destiny fan on Xbox? Are you satisfied with Bungie and Activision’s answers and reasoning? Let us know in the comments.
