While we already know that Battlefield 2042 will be getting another season of support with Season 7, players will have to wait a while before they get the promised two new maps. DICE has today announced the Battlefield 2042 Road to Season 7, which is basically a roadmap of what to expect before the Season 7 reveal and release in March.
Battlefield 2042 Road to Season 7 Overview:
January 30 to Feb. 6:
- Season 6 Extension
- Update 6.3 – Quality of Life Improvements: Portal Squad Spectator Modifier and Improved Map Rotations
- Lunar New Year: Limited Time Cosmetics, Progression Rewards
February 20 to March 5:
- Control Mode Is Back
- Arkangel Directive Event
- Update 6.4 – Quality of Life Improvements, Persistent Servers Update, Aircraft Impact Improvements, Vehicle Gunner Direction HUD
- New Play on 2 More Maps: Discarded and Breakaway, Earnable Rewards, Returning Themed Event Store Bundles
March:
- Reveal and Launch of Season 7
As you can see, we have about two months’ wait before we see or get Season 7’s promised content. Thankfully, there are quality of life improvements incoming, and the limited time events that are returning should tide players over for a bit.
Given there are two maps set to be released in Season 7 instead of the usual one, it is understandable for DICE to take their time. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the last season for the game before EA announces the next chapter in the franchise.
