Battlefield 2042 Road to Season 7 Announced, Here’s What to Expect Until March

While we already know that Battlefield 2042 will be getting another season of support with Season 7, players will have to wait a while before they get the promised two new maps. DICE has today announced the Battlefield 2042 Road to Season 7, which is basically a roadmap of what to expect before the Season 7 reveal and release in March.

Battlefield 2042 Road to Season 7 Overview:

January 30 to Feb. 6:

  • Season 6 Extension
  • Update 6.3 – Quality of Life Improvements: Portal Squad Spectator Modifier and Improved Map Rotations
  • Lunar New Year: Limited Time Cosmetics, Progression Rewards

February 20 to March 5:

  • Control Mode Is Back
  • Arkangel Directive Event
  • Update 6.4 – Quality of Life Improvements, Persistent Servers Update, Aircraft Impact Improvements, Vehicle Gunner Direction HUD
  • New Play on 2 More Maps: Discarded and Breakaway, Earnable Rewards, Returning Themed Event Store Bundles

March:

  • Reveal and Launch of Season 7

As you can see, we have about two months’ wait before we see or get Season 7’s promised content. Thankfully, there are quality of life improvements incoming, and the limited time events that are returning should tide players over for a bit.

Given there are two maps set to be released in Season 7 instead of the usual one, it is understandable for DICE to take their time. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the last season for the game before EA announces the next chapter in the franchise.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Marketing and Promotion Ramping Up “Very Soon,” Says to Bloober Team

While Konami has been quite silent regarding the Silent Hill 2 remake after it was initially announced, that’s about to change soon, as the studio behind the remake, Bloober Team, states that marketing for the game is expected to ramp up “very soon.”

This was revealed by Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno, who states, “It is Konami who is developing the promotional campaign (…) we believe that this promotion will start very soon.”

Publisher Konami hasn’t made any mention of the remake, though a recent PlayStation ad does list the Silent Hill 2 remake and Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater as being set for release in 2024.

The last development update we had for Silent Hill 2’s remake was back in November when Bloober Team announced that development was going smoothly and right on schedule.

The Silent Hill 2 remake is set to launch on PS5 first with a PC version expected to follow 12 months after.

Madden NFL 24 Update 1.013 Runs Out for Season 4 This Jan. 10 (Update)

Madden NFL 24 update 1.013 is now out on last-gen and current-gen platforms, and players can expect this download to bring in Season 4! There are new legend players as well as gameplay adjustments included in the title update. Read on for the Madden NFL 24 new update patch notes.

Madden NFL 24 Update 1.013 Patch Notes | Madden NFL 24 New Update Patch Notes for Today:

Update: EA has revealed the complete patch notes.

GRIDIRON NOTES

GAMEPLAY

  • Fixed an issue preventing defenders equipped with ‘Edge Threat’ from using non-engaged pass rush moves.
    • DEV NOTE: We have adjusted the tolerances for non-engaged pass rush moves to trigger more. This fix will allow pass rushers to use pass-rush moves that trigger before they get engaged by a blocker.
  • Fixed an issue where the Conductor Ability was not granting the user 2 adjustments as the QB was walking to the line.
  • Tuning to fatigue logic so defenders who are not dedicated pass rushers will suffer a more severe fatigue penalty when engaging with a pass blocker that is significantly bigger than them.
    • DEV NOTEWith the prevalence of Defensive Back blitzes being used as staple defenses, we noticed that there were many cases where the DB would get picked up by a Tight End or an Offensive Lineman that was significantly bigger and stronger than the defensive back but the blitzing DB would be able to engage in this mismatch over and over again without fatiguing. Now if a defender who is not a dedicated pass rusher having a Power Move and Finesse Move rating below 70 engages in a blocking mismatch where they are outweighed by 90 lbs or more, they will suffer a significant fatigue hit.
  • General Stability fixes

FRANCHISE MODE

  • With our Franchise Cross Play Live Beta, Cloud Franchise leagues can now include users of all supported Crossplay platforms. Crossplay is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®5, and PC platforms.* Internet connection, all game updates & EA account required. Check the League Settings to enable Crossplay* today!
    • DEV NOTE:  Please note that this feature is in live beta and can be implemented in any league. However, please note we strongly recommend that you start a new Franchise file for Crossplay in the event our team would need to temporarily disable the feature during the live beta.

MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM

  • Fixed a crash that would happen if the user clicked the “Show Quicksell” button on a locked pack in the New Item Flow.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause some users to become stuck on the archive tab in field pass.
  • Fixed an issue with leaderboards that were not updating data when switching between this week and previous week.
  • Fixed an issue where the wrong playbooks were being used in MUT Practice Mode.
  • Corrected various visual bugs and text overlaps.
  • Improved performance of many UI transitions.

SUPERSTAR MODE

  • Various stability updates

UI

  • Over 600 player and generic portrait updates
  • Various stability updates

While EA hasn’t revealed the complete patch notes just yet, expect that to change within the day. We do know the patch is for Season 4 given yesterday’s announcement.

Same as before, refresh this article from time to time as we’ll have the complete patch notes added once it’s available. If you don’t see a proper source and citation where they get the info for the patch notes, those are likely fake, which MP1st never does.

Once the official patch notes are out, we’ll update the article, so sit tight!

Update: Complete patch notes have been added.

Dead by Daylight Adds Alan Wake as New Survivor; PTB Version 7.5.0 Patch Notes Revealed

Behaviour Interactive has released the Dead by Daylight PTB January 2024 patch notes, and this is for version 7.5.0! This beta client is available now on PC, and once further testing is done, will be released publicly.

While we covered quite a lot of stuff in our Dead by Daylight PTB January 2024 overview, the complete patch notes are available below. Of course, the big news here is, Remedy’s Alan Wake is being added as a new Survivor! Check out the reveal trailer alongside what the writer can do in the game in the notes.

Dead by Daylight PTB January 2024 Version 7.5.0 Patch Notes:

Important

  • Progress & save data information has been copied from the Live game to our PTB servers on 2nd January. Please note that players will be able to progress for the duration of the PTB, but none of that progress will make it back to the Live version of the game.

Features

Field of View Settings

There is a new settings option in DbD! Players now have the ability to adjust their FOV, or field-of-view, with a slider in the Settings Menu. This allows players with a first-person-camera (killers, with the exception of The Good Guy) to adjust their field-of-view, reducing motion-sickness and other accessibility issues. This feature is initially in the Beta Tab while we allow for thorough testing.”

FOV Perk Updates

  • Shadowborn
When blinded by any means, gain a 6/8/10% Haste status effect for 10 seconds (new functionality)
  • Monitor and Abuse
While in a chase, your terror radius is increased by 8 meters. Otherwise, your terror radius is decreased by 8 meters (FoV clause was removed)

Generators System Update

The 3-gen strategy (identifying the closest 3 generators and defending only them) has become very strong, especially on certain killers. This can lead to very long games and frustrations. To help prevent such situations, the following now applies:

  • Each generator can only suffer 8 regression events maximum
  • After the max has been reached on a generator, that generator can no longer be regressed by the Killer (including kicks, addons, and perk-related regressions)
    • Number of regressions per generator is indicated by increasing VFX after 3 or more regression events
    • Gens at max regression events cannot regress by the Killer (including kicks, addons, and perk-related regressions)
  • Survivors failing skill checks still regress generators normally and do not count as regression events
  • Killer kick regression is increased from 2.5% to 5%
  • “Gen tapping” is no longer possible. To stop a generator from regressing, a Survivor must repair 5% of the generator
    • Regression does not occur while repairs are in progress

Perks Affected

  • Hex: Ruin
All generators are affected by Hex: Ruin. While a generator is not being repaired by a Survivor, it will immediately and automatically regress repair progress at 50%/75%/100% of the normal regression speed. (no longer deactivates when a survivor is killed)
  • Surge and Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance
Does not create a loud noise notification if no progress is lost on the generator
  • Oppression
Only causes a regression event on the generator that was kicked
  • Overcharge
Only the initiating kick counts as a regression event

You can only bless one Totem at a time. All equipped boon perks are active on your Boon Totem.

Maps

  • Mount Ormond updates

We did some changes to the map. the layout and main building stays the same. We just decided to address the fact that the front of the Building representing an entrance, had no gameplay or interesting loop. It was a big pile of rocks and not much else. So we went through to update the gameplay and make it more fluid and fitting with the loops and to actually add gameplay. The art team went through as well to make things look nice.

In the back of the building we had a couple of tiles that were simple loops, but that didn’t have interesting gameplay, we went around to update this and improve the quality there as well.

Apex Legends Quietly Adds Killcams

The Apex Legends mid-season 19 update is now out, and with it, a plethora of changes and some new content. While Respawn detailed most of everything in this update, one surprise feature that players are now discovering in Apex Legends is that there are now killcams. You read right; Apex Legends now has killcams!

As part of the Mid-Season update, Apec Legend players can now spectate their own death via the new kill replay feature that was quietly added with this update.

We aren’t sure why Respawn kept this feature out of the patch notes nor made any mention of it prior, but we’re glad to see it finally come to the game, as it’s been a highly requested feature for years. This will not only help players find out how they died but also help spot cheaters more easily now that we can see from their perspective.

It’s pretty cool and unexpected! Should any more surprises surface from this update, we’ll be sure to let you know. Otherwise, enjoy the new content this update brings, including the new collaboration with Square Enix that sees Final Fantasy 7 cosmetics and mechanics make their way into Apex Legends.

Thanks, DANNYonPC, for the tip!

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League Will Let You Earn Gear and Rewards for Your Friends, Even If They’re Offline

Rocksteady is introducing a rather unique and brilliant feature in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League that’ll make grinding much easier for players, as they can earn gear and rewards for their friends, even if they go offline for the night.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League creator and press embargo lifted today, with many new details being revealed, including a new returning Batman villain. But one very cool feature pointed out by content creator Laajune during his game coverage is that Rocksteady has added more ways for players to earn loot.

While Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is being marketed as a cooperative online looter shooter, you can play the game solo. The additional members of the Suicide Squad will be played by bots, with a feature that lets you pull your friend’s characters into your game. It’s not a feature we haven’t seen before, but what’s cool about this is that any gear and rewards they collect while playing with you, that loot will be waiting for your friends in their inventory the next time they log in.

As Laajune explains it, this means that someone could technically play all day and night while you’re doing something else, making your character stronger without progressing their story.

Honestly, this has to be one of the coolest features I’ve seen in a looter shooter, as often it can become very tedious to grind through a game, especially for new players. This mechanic will help immensely and promote farming more effectively.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League will be launching on February 2 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Early access will be available starting January 30 for Deluxe Edition buyers.

Ark Survival Ascended Update 1.033.029 Patch Notes | Ark Survival Ascended Update for January 9 Patch Notes:

So far, Studio Wildcard hasn’t released a proper changelog just yet. However, the studio did make an announcement on the official Ark Discord a few days ago regarding the TEK teleporter.

Screenshot

We’re looking into an issue that causes a DC when near a TEK teleporter. More to come!

We’re reverting to the previous version while we take another look at the patch we just deployed. Thanks for your patience!

Make sure you restart your Steam client if you don’t see the client update.

Apex Legends Update 1.000.056 Slashes Out for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Adjustments This Jan. 9

Apex Legends update 1.000.056 is now live on last-gen and current-gen platforms this January 9, and this brings the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth content alongside the Ignite mid-season adjustments! Read on for what’s new in the official Apex Legends FF7 update patch notes.

Apex Legends Update 1.000.056 Patch Notes | Apex Legends FF7 Rebirth Patch Notes | Apex Legends New Update Patch Notes for Today:

Note: For those in the US, it seems the patch isn’t live just yet and Respawn has acknowledged the issue:

NEW: FINAL FANTASY VII TAKEOVER

Worlds collide in our new BR Takeover featuring content that will be all too familiar to FINAL FANTASY™ VII fans. Wield the power of a Buster Sword R2R5, which will have gameplay abilities and can be picked up and used as a weapon as a part of the Takeover. Get access to light and heavy attacks, blocking to reduce damage taken and dash to close the gap, and fill your meter to use the quintessential Limit Break. The more you deal, take, and block damage, the faster your meter will fill. If you don’t find a Buster Sword R2R5 hot off your drop, keep an eye out for them in Care Packages and around the map.

While you’re on the hunt for the ultimate weapon, look for Materia Hop-Ups for increased effects and/or bonuses. Each Materia Hop-Up has its own impact and will only attach with select weapons, and can spawn in the world and event-limited Cactuar Ticks!

Blue Materia HP Absorb Damage enemies to heal yourself
Green Materia Lightning Reload an empty weapon to emit a shock nova, damaging and slowing nearby enemies
Purple Materia Crit Rate Up Random criticals provide extra damage
Red Materia Summon Summon a Nessie companion to attack your foes
Yellow Materia Assess Damage enemies to see their remaining health

Warframe Update 2.25 Released for Hotfix 35.0.7 This January 9 (Update)

Digital Extremes has released Warframe update 2.25 (PS5 update version 1.033, PC hotfix 35.0.7), and this ushers in backend fixes for cross-platform saves, alongside a host of gameplay-related adjustments. Read on for what’s new in the Warframe new update patch notes.

Warframe Update 2.25 Patch Notes | Warframe Update 1.033 Patch Notes | Warframe Hotfix 35.0.7 Patch Notes:

Update: Added the patch notes for Whispers in the Walls Hotfix 7!

PSN Whispers in the Walls: Hotfix #7

Hello Tenno and Happy New Year! This Hotfix includes back-end fixes and improvements towards Cross Platform Save that are needed before we re-open the gates again this January. Dates to come – stay tuned!

Today’s Hotfix also includes some back-end fixes that required us to send to Cert (Warframe Lexicon for Updates). What this means is that this Hotfix will appear and download as an Update would and will have a slightly larger download size compared to a typical Hotfix would be.
Cross Platform Save Fixes:

  • Fixed rare instances where selecting an account that has not completed Vor’s Prize as your primary during the merging process would cause progression issues for the merged account.
  • Fixed rare case where merged PC and Console accounts that were in the same Clan would no longer be a member of it in the merged account.
    • If you have experienced this and would like assistance returning to your Clan, you can submit a ticket to support.warframe.com.
  • Fixed rare case where TennoGen purchases made via the Steam Workshop would be incorrectly locked to a player’s Console account instead of their PC account (as intended) if the player was logged in on Console at the time of purchase.
    • We are working on a script to correct this for affected players.
  • Fixed Companion Incubation not progressing after merging two accounts that both had a Companion active. Moving forward, new merges will automatically move those Companions into Stasis to avoid this issue.
    • If you have experienced this issue and need assistance in regaining access to those Companions, you can submit a ticket to support.warframe.com.

Changes:

  • Changed the Violet Archon Shard embed bonus affecting Health/Energy pickups to function similarly to the Equilibrium Mod. Now, Health/Energy Orbs can be picked up if one is full, but the other is not to apply the bonus.
  • Changed the “Regenerate Shields when you inflict an enemy with Blast Status” Topaz Archon Shard embed bonus to no longer apply when Shield Gate is triggered.
    • An unintended degree of invulnerability could be obtained using this effect while continuously triggering Shield Gate, so it was changed to function similarly to Caliban’s Lethal Progeny ability, where the Shield recharge is disabled when Shield Gate is triggered and only resumes when the Shields begin to regenerate themselves.
  • Changed the required amount of players needed to start the Effervo boss fight from all squad members to half. This addresses feedback that the boss fight could take a long time to start (and potentially result in Host migrations) if players were off collecting Voca, resources, etc, instead of moving to the boss zone. Players outside of the zone will now be teleported into the arena once activated.
  • Changed Pangolin Prime’s Slam attack to match its base version:
    • Now applies a forced Slash Status Effect.
    • Changed damage type from Impact to Puncture.
  • Replaced the “Skip” button in the Circuit reward screen with a “Continue” option if multiple rewards are available. This aims to help prevent players from skipping them all, and instead, will now show the next reward.
  • Arcanes offerings from Vendors are now displayed as unranked.
    • Hovering over the Arcane will now display both its unranked and max rank stats. This is to help avoid players thinking they are buying a fully ranked Arcane.
  • Added a Default Mod Config for the Grimoire in Teshin’s Cave options.
  • Mandonel’s orb will now spin faster during reload for some added flare!
  • Removed mention of Syndicate Sigils in the “Loyalty” Nightwave Act’s tip description, as they are no longer required with the Pledge system to gain Standing.

Optimizations:
Made small optimizations to server-side database performance.

Albrecht’s Laboratories/Sanctum Anatomica Changes & Fixes:

  • Improved spawn rates of The Anatomizer and The Severed Warden enemies in Alchemy Bounties. Particularly to address the issue of being unable to complete the “Kill X Flying Enemies” Bounty Challenge.
  • Fixed individual Focus School Eidolon Lens Blueprints being rewarded in Rotation C of the Survival, Persto mission instead of the intended Eidolon Lens Blueprint.
    • Each individual Lens Blueprint had a drop rate of 10% for each type, so we have adjusted the drop tables to compensate for this change by increasing the drop rate for the Eidolon Lens Blueprint and the Mandonel Barrel and Receiver. More details in the public drop tables.
  • Fixed cases where Rogue Voidrigs would not spawn/be marked on the map.
    • With this fix, the “Kill 2 Rogue Voidrigs” Bounty Challenge has been re-enabled! It was disabled in Hotfix #2, as the above issue was preventing Bounties from being completed.
  • Fixed case where Rogue Voidrigs would suddenly teleport to a different location after being spawned by a Rogue Culverin.
  • Fixed Rogue Culverins’ animations popping while spawning a Rogue Voidrig.
  • Fixed the map search radius for Necramite Drones not appearing in Netracell missions (including the Whispers in the Walls Quest stage).
  • Fixed reward containers in the Netracells having different Codex entries.
  • Fixed breaking a Murmur Sarcophages counting as more than one towards the “Find X Murmur Sarcophages” Bounty challenge.
  • Fixed hitches occurring after hacking a Necramech summon terminal.
  • Fixed the maximum number of Vitreums that can be activated simultaneously in the Assassination, Effervo mission not scaling based on Squad size.
  • Fixed damage type icons appearing next to the “Vitreum Seeking” UI in the Assassination, Effervo mission instead of “A, B, C…” to indicate which Vitreum is active and where.
  • Fixed Murmur Eyes not despawning after its timer has run out in the Assassination, Effervo mission.
  • Improved the accuracy of the direction in which broken furniture pieces will fly out when destroyed. We’re collectively keeping the Necramites employed with all this senseless furniture demolition.
  • Fixed certain character color customizations (if you know you know) not appearing in their transmissions.
  • Fixed loss of UI functionality in the certain character color customizations screen after saving.
  • Fixed the Cavia rank up dioramas being obfuscated by Vendor UI if you interacted with them before it appeared.
  • Fixed opening Operator Equipment in the Sanctum Anatomica in the “Back to the Future” stage of the Whispers in the Walls Quest causing functionality loss.
  • Fixed minimap waypoint for the Grimoire page not disappearing after collecting it in the “Lost and Found” stage of Whispers in the Walls Quest. Also fixed the Lotus “mission complete” transmission playing on extraction.

General Fixes:

  • Fixed Topaz Archon Shard embed bonuses not triggering from enemies that were killed by the required conditions.
    • For example, if you killed an enemy with Electricity Damage, it would not trigger the embed bonus of gaining Ability Damage on enemies affected by Electricity Status. With this fix, if the killing blow was going to apply the required condition, it will count towards the embed bonus.
  • Fixed the “Regenerate Shields when you inflict an enemy with Blast Status” Topaz Archon Shard embed bonus removing Overshields when triggered.
  • Fixed Mother’s offerings screen being blank when interacting with her immediately after arriving into the Necralisk.
  • Fixed being unable to complete the Enigma in Kullervo’s Hold due to the final target door not opening.
  • Fixed the Ammo Pool for Primary Weapons increasing beyond its max intended amount after transforming the Angstrum to its Incarnon Form and picking up ammo while Primary is out.
  • Fixed Wisp’s Animation Sets missing a custom animation while running with the Grimoire. The floor is always lava challenge is officially back on!
  • Fixed Clients not seeing some of Mandonel’s animations.
  • Fixed dual wielding with the Cirriped Epitaph Skin equipped causing the Epitaph to have offset issues.
  • Fixed player Voidrig’s arm not moving when aiming down sights while standing still.
  • Fixed Grimoire’s projectile explosion sound FX at times cutting off.
  • Fixed projectile explosion sound FX missing for the Morgha and Kuva Ayanga ground Archguns.
  • Fixed flat lighting issues in the Cambion Drift.
  • Fixed the “Last Words” Ground Finisher missing a Blast Damage icon in the High Noon and Bullet Dance Stance Mod screen.
  • Fixed the Stahlta Shock Rifle Skin missing controller vibration support.
  • Fixed icon missing in the HUD for Burston Incarnon’s “Fortress Salvo” buff.
  • Fixed incorrect icons being used in the HUD for the Zylok and Kunai Incarnon evolution buffs.

Here’s what’s new for the PC version per Digital Extremes:

  • Fixes towards DirectX 12 AMD graphics card crashes.
    • DirectX 12 was disabled in Hotfix 35.0.4 as a temporary solution while we worked on a fix (PSA here). We have re-enabled DirectX 12 for AMD Graphics Cards in this Hotfix now that we have made some progress – but we encourage you to continue to share your findings here if the issues persist.

Given how the patch notes sometimes differ between consoles and PC, if there are any other changes included in the console patch notes (it has yet to be updated with any official info), we’ll update the article with it.

Update: Official console patch notes have been added.

Tekken 8 – The Story so Far Presented by Brian Cox

Hollywood star Brian Cox gives us the lowdown on the entire history of Tekken’s story ahead of Tekken 8’s release.

What does Hollywood star Brian Cox have in common with Tekken? More than you may think, as he’s all too familiar with the thematic power struggle tale between a father and his children, which was incredibly portrayed in the award-winning drama series Succession. You could say that Cox’s character, Logan Roy, shares a similar story with his kids to that of Tekken’s Heihachi Mishima, the series’ main villain. Well, almost, as Logan never threw any of his kids off a cliff, though that would perfectly describe his relationship with them metaphorically.

Thus, who better to recount the long history of Tekken?

“Every single fight, no matter how big or small, has a story behind it,” Cox says in the trailer. “That’s why when it comes to TEKKEN and the King of the Iron Fist tournament, there’s one hell of a story to tell.”

Definitely not the crossover we were expecting to see, but god damn does it work. I’m definitely more hyped for the game, though the demo already had me fired up. It won’t be long before we all get our hands on it either, as Tekken 8 arrives on January 26, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Destiny 2 Update 1.108 Patch Notes | Destiny 2 New Update Patch Notes for January 9:

ACTIVITIES

CRUCIBLE

  • Playlists
    • As of this week, Checkmate has been moved back to the Labs node for continued iteration with the updated tuning detailed below. Next week will feature 3v3 Clash, which has been modified to reflect a fan favorite from the original Destiny, Skirmish, so revives are enabled. We will run one more Checkmate Trials Lab later this season (on February 9) with the new tuning, but Checkmate is not currently planned to be in the Control node again.
    • Next Iron Banner, there will be an unmodified mode (e.g., Clash, Zone Control, or Supremacy as opposed to Scorched, Momentum, or Mayhem) in the 6v6 Quickplay node, so that those who do not wish to participate in Iron Banner can still find the standard Destiny 6v6 PvP to play.
  • Miscellaneous
    • The double rewards icon is now correctly appearing on playlists in Crucible Labs.
    • Fixed an issue where players were able to summon Sparrows during Showdown matches in 3v3 Quickplay.
  • Countdown Rush

Apex Legends Update 2.42 Brings FF7 Rebirth and Ignite Mid-Season Patch This Jan. 9

Respawn Entertainment has released Apex Legends update 2.42 and this brings the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover content alongside the Ignite mid-season changes! Read on for the official Apex Legends new update patch notes for January 9, 2024 below.

Apex Legends Update 2.42 Patch Notes | Apex Legends Ignite Mid-Season Patch Notes for January 9:

Size: 4.9GB (PS4)
