Fall Guys was an explosive success at its launch, and has continued to grow through seasonal updates and events. Fans of the wacky title got a new look at the newest addition to the game, Fall Guys Spartan Showdown.
The Spartan Showdown event starts on June 30 and will run until July 4, bringing free challenges for players to complete and unlock Halo-themed cosmetics like a Master Chief outfit. The trailer is also a reference to the iconic Believe trailer for Halo 3 that sees the camera slowly exploring a frozen scene from the middle of a battle, which is a fun nod toward the event’s inspiration.
Here’s the full trailer.
Spartan Showdown will also be coming to the game just after its transition to free-to-play as well as its launch on Xbox consoles and the Nintendo switch on June 21. This means that alongside the new cosmetic items there will also be a deluge of new players checking the game out for the very first time.
Fall Guys’ Spartan Showdown event starts on June 30 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
The fate of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl has remained dubious in recent months. Following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the Kyiv-based studio announced the game was delayed indefinitely as it established new studios to continue development while some of its developers decided to stay in their home country and fight. Now, the Xbox Extended Showcase showed off a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 trailer that confirmed its release for 2023.
The trailer is actually the introductory cinematic that players can expect to see at the start of the game, and provides a peek at the game’s narrative as well as the hostile environment known as the Zone. The trailer shows how the player’s character will enter the Zone, which just happens to be in the back of a truck. Throughout the trailer audio also plays of an interview with a doctor who says that the Zone is now safe enough to begin exploring for the betterment of mankind.
See the newest trailer for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 below.
However, the Zone does not look safe at all as the truck has to drive through an incredible storm, only to crash. The trailer then hints at some more supernatural elements that fans may be expecting, as the player character then stands before a strange light with rocks floating upward around it.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl releases in 2023 on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
With Sony announcing that Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is coming to PC in just a few months’ time, it seems some people have already began making mods for it! One such modder has given gamers a sneak peek at The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (TASM2) suit mod they’re currently developing!
Over on Reddit, user Mann53 has posted a couple of concept images of the TASM2 suit for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.
Not bad, right? This might be one of the best things to come out of Sony’s first-party games being released on PC. For reference, when God of War came out on PC, it didn’t take long for modders to release funny and creepy mods for it, and we’re expecting the same from Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Sony will be releasing Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on August 12, 2022 with Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales following it sometime during Fall 2022.
If you haven’t played Marvel’s Spider-Man, you’ll probably going to want to change that as soon as possible, as it’s one heck of a ride! I gave it a glowing 9.5/10 when it was released and said,”It’s surprising that Insomniac’s first foray into the superhero video game scene is this ambitious, and what’s even more surprising is, the studio managed to shatter all expectations. Make no mistake, this Spider-Man game is one mean action game even without the license, though it uses it to great effect, which puts the game from “good” to “excellent” all in one go. Simply put, Marvel’s Spider-Man is one neighborhood you’ll want to swing by, and be a part of.”

If you play as Battlefield 2042’s Sundance a lot, you might have (or not) noticed that something changed today. As it turns out, DICE has rolled out a server-side Battlefield 2042 Sundance Scatter Grenade nerf!
This announcement was made by DICE today where the studio went into detail on how it got nerfed, too.
Something that we've seen from last weeks Update is that Sundance's Scatter Grenade is too strong
The design of this grenade is as much Area Denial as it is Offense
We've just deployed a change that increases the fragment detonation range from 0.85s – 1.3s to 1.5s – 1.75s pic.twitter.com/pd9CZMHrI5

This is definitely a step in the right direction, no? For those who haven’t logged into Battlefield 2042 in quite a while, Season 1: Zero Hour has just been released, and you can check our in-depth review of the new season right here.
With development led by the mind behind Dead Space, The Callisto Protocol has a lot of eyes on its release later this year. The science-fiction horror game has shown a lot of impressive elements, and in a new interview with the director of Striking Distance Studio Greg Schofield, he has given some more details on The Callisto Protocol gore system and other aspects.
The interview itself comes from IGN and was posted to YouTube in an eight-minute video that is packed with interesting bits of information. One of the most eye-catching was the claim that Striking Distance has spent years developing The Callisto Protocol gore system. Gore can play a massive role in setting the tone of horror games, so much so that the game even re-released a trailer without the gore removed to give players a better idea of what to expect when the title launches.
During the interview, Schofield also discusses how the game has a linear structure with smaller paths built into sections to allow players to freely explore and navigate the ship. He also talks briefly about the studio’s in-house performance capture studio that helped the studio reach the incredible animations that have been shown in the game thus far. And, if you’re worried that The Callisto Protocol will be a one-and-done deal, he also talks about the studio’s hopes that it will be the start of a brand new franchise.
Check out the full interview from IGN here.
The Callisto Protocol releases on December 2 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
A new game based on the hit horror film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has been revealed to be in development by one of the studios of Friday the 13th: The Game, Gun Interactive. Alongside The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Gameplay reveal and a confirmed release window of 2023, we get to see a deeper look at what makes the game tick.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre looks to be similar to Friday the 13th: The Game in that it is an asymmetrical horror game that pits a team of survivors against an iconic film killer. In it, players will be able to play as multiple members of the Slaughter family that each come with their own strengths and weaknesses. As a survivor, players have to try and avoid the killer for long enough to gather different tools and items to make their ultimate escape.
Following the game’s reveal during the Xbox Extended Showcase, the developers have released an unrated trailer that shows the title in all of its gory glory, similar to the route taken by the upcoming sci-fi horror title, The Callisto Protocol. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre trailer, however, also gives a great look at the game’s atmospheric elements and dark tone, which does an incredible job of matching up with the original movie from 1974. It seems like the game will be a treat for fans of the film franchise, and players of asymmetric horror games as well.
See the unrated Texas Chain Saw Massacre trailer here.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre releases in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Blizzard Entertainment has released Overwatch update 3.30 today on all platforms, and this is a small download, and doesn’t include any character adjustments. Read on for the Overwatch June 14 patch notes.

That’s about it. Given Overwatch 2 is set to be released this October, don’t expect any major changes to Overwatch or its characters (I assume). If there are other changes not mentioned above, leave a comment below and let us know what you find.

Maxis has released The Sims 4 update 1.60, and this is for the Werewolves Game Pack data along with proper lunar cycles, and quite a lot of bug fixes too! Read below for the full list of new stuff and bug fixes in The Sims 4 June 14 patch notes.
The Sims 4 Update 1.60 | The Sims 4 June 14 Patch Notes:
PC: 1.89.214.1030 / Mac: 1.89.214.1230
Console: Version 1.60
Awoooo, Simmers!
We’re very excited to share with you our newest patch notes (but I’m particularly excited because this is my first time getting to write them and now I’m as free and wild as a Werewolf during a full moon)!
To begin, we hope you’ve been enjoying the real life super moons lately, because we have similar themes in store for you! Awooo!-Sorry. *Clears throat.* This patch brings bug fixes and updates to accompany the Werewolves Game Pack’s release in two days. We hope you find everything within these notes… transformative.
As usual, thank you all for your continued support and feedback, and – most importantly – have fun just wolfin’ around!
– SimGuruMorgan
WHAT’S NEW?
Lunar Cycles
Were your Sims set in their nocturnal ways? The moon now has phases within a Lunar Cycle! From now on, you’ll notice that the moon in the sky changes over time, which affects how much light is given off at night in almost every neighborhood across all packs. This excludes locations that might not make sense, like the Magic Realm.
In total, there are eight phases: New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter, and Waning Crescent. With default settings, the moon will change each night, but you can change the length of the phases in the Environment section of Game Options. If you want, you can also make a phase permanent or turn off moon effects.
Yes, the moon phase will affect your Sim! Each phase grants a special gameplay boost that can be viewed by hovering over the moon icon at the bottom center of the screen. This information will also display the current phase. Are you curious when the next full moon is coming around? The calendar has also been updated to display upcoming moon phases based on the previously mentioned phase length settings.
Occult Sims will find that the moon now plays an extra role in how their powers behave. During certain moon phases, Mermaids have less hydration loss, Vampires recharge power slower, Spellcasters cast spells more successfully, and Aliens receive a special moodlet while moonbathing (which is also now a thing for all Sims Teen and older)!
There are also some particularly cute new interactions for toddlers. They have special questions that they can ask during each phase and they can also say goodnight to the moon. This will grant them special moon dreams, which may change depending on the particular moon phase that night. Prepare for cuteness overload! (I’d be remiss if I failed to mention that this is where the Princess Cordelia reference is hidden in this pack. Sorry, SimGuruNinja. You can’t stop me!)
Sims are now also able to moongaze through the observatory or the…
Small Telescope
It was a rainy afternoon one day at the Maxis office. The Bay doesn’t see much rain, and the sound of water drops hitting the windows filled the otherwise silent studio.
In a dimly lit corner on the Maxis floor, one Modeling Artist was working on a telescope model. A simple feature, a staple of the Sims and real-life space hobbyists. A smile grew across the Artist’s face. The model was perfect. Small, elegant, perfectly capable of sitting on a balcony in a virtual household. There were great expectations for The Sims 4, and the Artist had great expectations too.
Suddenly, a Game Designer appeared behind the Artist. The Artist was serenaded by the sound of rain, and hadn’t noticed that they were no longer alone.
As the Artist turned around to greet the Designer, the Designer uttered a single word, as if to interrupt eye contact.
“Bigger.” the Designer muttered.
Confused, the Artist scanned their freshly sculpted 3D model in order to figure out what exactly needed to be bigger. The base of the structure? Could it not support the weight of such a lens? Was the scope itself too small? Would the mysteries of the cosmos elude our Sims with its inadequacy?
“What do you mean by-” the Artist’s voice was cut short as they noticed the Designer digging into a fresh plate of Lobster Thermidor. A peculiar sight as there wasn’t even a kitchen nearby. How had the Designer cooked an entire lobster? The grated cheese atop the crustacean slowly melted as the Artist sat astonished.
“Bigger.” the Designer once again exclaimed. This time slightly louder, exhaling a cloud of Old Bay seasoning that stung the Artist’s eyes. The Artist blinked rapidly and grimaced.
“What exactly needs to be big-”
“BIGGER.” This time the Designer was shouting, bread crumbs flying onto the desk.
The Designer stood silently before taking another bite. The Artist looked down at the clenched hands in their lap, trying hard to find the right words to say. Where do we go from here? Where does life go from here?
The Artist tried to return their gaze to the Designer, but the Designer was already gone. Lingering steam lofted in the air. The Artist tried once again to speak, but words felt meaningless, unnecessary. The only thing that remained was the odor of buttery shellfish and the gentle hum of rain.
The Artist sighed and looked back at their telescope model, still baffled by the encounter. As their thoughts stirred, one word repeated in their mind.
Bigger.
Bigger.
Bigger.
Yes! They’re finally here. Tiny, portable, and ready to fulfill your logic dreams. This patch includes one small telescope, and The Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack will add a second pack-specific one. Most of the interactions that were available on the observatory are also available on the small telescope, but for understandable reasons you cannot Woohoo inside it, and – as it isn’t quite as technically advanced as the observatory – using the small telescope will not reward prints. You may, at various times of day and night:
Spy on Neighborhood
Observe the Sky
Search for the Truth
Stargaze
Track Satellite
Spy on Apartments [City Living Expansion]
Important Warning: Viewing the night sky can be dangerous work. If your Sim notices something is coming straight for them… get inside quickly! Death by meteorite is now a thing! So are meteorite ghosts! Who knew?
Observatory
Small Telescopes aren’t the only star gazing item to get some attention. Remember the base game observatory? Yes, the big one. How could you forget after the story above?! Well, you can now discover 10 new framed moon prints when moongazing with it! They’re very pretty, and I hear one might show what Sixam looks like from space.

Wolfsbane has been brought to Base Game. You may acquire it through cheats or random plant awards, but this will allow it to be found in the worlds of both The Sims 4 Werewolves as well as the The Sims 4 Vampires.
We are formally excited to announce: “Reticulating Splines” is back as a loading tip!
BUG FIXES
The Sims 4
Why shouldn’t Sims be able to nap in a bush that’s been… partied in? We couldn’t think of a good reason, so we fixed it! Sweet dreams.
The floors will no longer disappear on Low/Medium graphics settings for 2019 16″ MacBook Pro users.
It’s a good day for 2019 16″ MacBook Pro users. Potentially more important than the ground not disappearing, the game will also not crash when on Low graphics settings.
You know how when you’d make a picture frame black, then change it to another color, and then change your mind and decide that black really was the right option and you’d try to change it back but it wouldn’t go back to black? Well that doesn’t happen anymore! Your indecision is secure!
If you looked at the pack preview screenshots on Origin, some of The Sims4 packs had more screenshots than when previewing a pack on the main menu, so we made sure that each pack that had at least four screenshots on Origin also had at least four screenshots in our main menu, because our main menu felt jealous, and now it doesn’t.
The ymBody_EF01BusinessSuitMed_WarmGray suit was clipping through itself when a Sim would sit in it. Really, the clipping collected a lot of crumbs and got the suit dirty, so it was a problem that needed fixed. Fancy Sims everywhere rejoice!
I’m not very tech-savvy myself, but our engineers fixed an issue where low/medium settings on Retina displays (which I had no clue were a thing) was causing graphical issues on lots.
There were some unnecessary blue blocks in the Tutorials section of the Game Options Menu for Xbox, so we got rid of those. They were strange. Strange and blue… and very boxy. Too suspicious for us!
3… 2… 1… blast off! Sometimes Sims were unable to build rocket ships, but that is no longer the case!
Snowy Escape
The Proper trait now has text in Russian. No longer will players stare at the icon of a person bowing with no guidance as to what it means!
Spa Day
If a Sim aspiring to be a Self-Care Specialist wants to complete the “Hustle” goal, they should be able to! And now they can. The world needs more hustle.
Russian and Polish translations for one of the new aspirations were being cut off in UI when you went to select a new Aspiration. Now the tooltips say what they should!
Realm of Magic
Already powerful Spellcasters that seemed “stuck” will now receive additional perk points when the XP bar fills to maximum. Need I warn you all that fixing this was probably a bad idea? Does the world really need more powerful Spellcasters? This is how you get magical super villains!
We fixed an issue where Spellcasters and Aliens were having children with incomplete genetics data. It sort of makes sense, since they are Aliens, but also it wasn’t a good experience because once that child became a teen, they would be missing pants. And underwear. With no censor grid… So yeah.
Dream Home Decorator
When a Sim with level 10 in the Interior Decorator career does a level addition gig, they can now add additional levels, walls, stairs, and delete items on walls.
Decorator Sims who attempt to do a Basement Gym Level Addition gig are now able to add basements. Sim afraid of working out underground will not be pleased with this update.
The ymTop_GP10JeanJacket will now appear in the catalog as a feminine style choice.
My Wedding Stories
Gloves should accessorize a dress, not change it, and for the yfBody_GP11DressBridePrincess dress this is now true! No longer will gloves have an undesirable texture overlay.
There once was a magical left-handed ring, that when worn, would replace the texture of any other ring put on the same finger of the opposite hand with its own. This was a dark magic, an evil magic, and so The Sims 4 developers put a stop to it! They said, “No more! Stay on your own finger, foul ring beast!” Now you can wear this ring and another ring on the same finger but opposite hand and they will look different! All is as it should be.
Dmaps have been updated for ymBody_GP11SuitFlowing_Red, which pretty much means that it looks less wobbly. Nobody likes a wobbly suit.
When you pull the camera in and out for windows windowMISHigh2x1x4_02 and windowMISHigh1x1x3_02, they will now change LoDs as desired. The Laurents won’t be quite so confused now when they come and go from their mansion.
That awkward moment when a Sim leans in to kiss while Slow Dancing and fails… well it’s even more awkward now because they’re actually touching and their hands aren’t floating. Or is that less awkward? We aren’t sure.

We can only imagine what horrors the Patriarch and his cohorts have been up to here in this remote location. By the way, if you are one of those people who like to try different weapons, we have a new weekly mode for you, Arsenal Ascent, in which you will be swapping weapons as you kill Zeds. And if that weren’t enough, the Horzine Research Group just released two new products, the HRG Head Hunter and the HRG Crossboom, for Sharpshooter and Demolitionist mercs respectively. New order rules in the Weapon Skin section in the inventory.

Movement speed when firing increased 500%
Rotation speed when firing increased 105%
Reload speed increased 20%

Put Away speed increased 30%
Perks

Inferno (level 25 skill)
Rework of the skill.
New functionality is: During Zed time, your fire damage over time spreads to all surrounding Zeds.
Designer Notes :
Survivalists had to rely on randomness every time they started a match, but that is over. Now, Survivalists can choose their initial weapon and grenade on the Perk screen. We have left the “random option” available for those who prefer it. In addition to that, for Level 15+ Survivalists, the Medic Grenade or the Molotov Cocktail will be added to the rotation, depending on whether the player has chosen the “Ammo Vest” or “Weapon Harness” skill. But players can keep choosing another grenade if they want. Finally, as the grenade is linked to the perk skill, and this can be changed during trader time, players will also be able to change their grenade during this time, keeping the number of grenades they already had.
The order in the Weapon Skin section in the inventory was a bit chaotic, with different skins of different weapons mixed. We have added some rules to improve it, and now you will see all the skins of the same weapon grouped together. The skins will be ordered by weapon trader price, then rarity (common to precious), and then quality (battle-scarred to mint).
Regarding balance, we have made adjustments in two weapons, keeping in mind the community feedback. For the FAMAS Masterkey, we have increased the fire rate for the alt-fire (shotgun fire), which was very slow to use, and it was hard to swap between alt-fire and main fire. Now you can shoot faster, and combine main fire and alt-fire better, making this weapon more versatile and dynamic in play style. We also have slightly adjusted the spread, which will help to improve the effectiveness of the weapon.
The other balanced weapon is the Minigun. The main disadvantages of this weapon were its mobility restrictions, so that’s what we’ve been focusing on. Now, you will have the same firepower as before, but you will be able to move and reload faster.
Finally, we have made a complete rework of the Inferno perk skill for the Firebug. We expect that now this skill performs better than the previous one, creating a good alternative to the other Firebug level 25 skill, Pyromaniac.
Bug Fixes Also mentioned in the 2021 Killing Floor 2 ‘State of the Game’ our goal is to bring to the community a continued stream of community-reported bug fixes for each update throughout the year. Please continue to report any bugs you discover by visiting our official forums at: https://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/forum/killing-floor-2 and posting in the ‘PC’ or ‘Console’ sections.

Just yesterday, FromSoftware released Elden Ring patch 1.05 on all platforms, which included quite a number of fixes and adjustments. Unfortunately for PC gamers, this has caused an issue as well. Some players on PC are seeing the Elden Ring “Inapproriate Activity Detected” message after yesterday’s patch.
Thankfully, FromSoftware has acknowledged the issue and has made the following announcement:
If you receive the message "Inappropriate Activity Detected" while loading the #PC version of #ELDENRING, please verify that the game files have been installed properly. https://t.co/eBE8HEnXSj
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
To save you a click, here’s how to verify integrity of game files (via Steam):
Verify Integrity of Game Files
If you are missing textures or other content in game or experiencing crashing while playing a game, you can have Steam verify that the game’s files are installed correctly on the computer.
Restart your computer and launch
Steam
Next, you can either right click the game in your Library, or click the gear icon from the game’s Library page on the far right
From the drop down menu, select
Properties…
Select the
Local Files
tab and click the
Verify integrity of game files…button
Steam will verify the game’s files – this process may take several minutes
Important: One or more files may fail to verify.
This is normal for most Steam games. The files that fail to verify are local configuration files that should not be replaced as part of this process. You can safely ignore this message.
Warning:
Do not run the verification process while performing other system-intensive processes, such as defragmenting your hard drive or scanning for viruses.
Do not run this process for multiple games at the same time.
If you know of any errors for Elden Ring that surfaced from the latest patch (be it consoles or PC), send us a tip about (tips@mp1st.com).
