COD Black Ops 6 & Warzone Season 5 Fires Out via Update 1.077; Brings New Content and Balance Changes

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 5 content is here, and this also brings a huge list of balance changes.

Players on consoles should see this appear as COD Black Ops 6 & Warzone update version 1.077 (ver. 01.077.000), and this is another hefty download to the game.

For the complete details on the new content and balance changes made, head on below.

Black Ops 6 Season 5 New Content via Patch 1.077

ew Multiplayer Maps

Runway (6v6)

  • A Pantheon mole attempts their escape via the Arzak Provincial Airport. All hell breaks loose as the Rogue Black Ops team pursues one of their final targets. Wreckage and luggage litter the tarmac, flames licking the sides of the terminal and black smoke rising from the fire in the airport control tower.

Exchange (6v6, 2v2)

  • Rogue Black Ops pursues a mole attempting to strike a deal in a vibrant Avalon marketplace. Crash the party and unleash havoc on this small-sized three-lane map centered around the Deli, its roof adorned with a marble statue of a mythic sea god.

World Motor Dynasty (W.M.D.) (6v6)

  • From its inception as a Nova 6 processing laboratory first introduced in the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, W.M.D. returns in a reimagined form as an Italian luxury car manufacturer in Avalon. Trade the snow of the original map for an overcast day around the Autofiorno plant, using your memories of the prior map to help navigate the larger area of operations.

New Multiplayer Modes

Aim High

  • Aim high to survive across a variety of game modes — including Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Kill Confirmed — where headshots land instant eliminations while full body armor minimizes damage dealt anywhere below the neck. As a bonus, this headshot training is likely to hone your talents when unlocking Weapon Camos.

Snipers Only (In-Season)

  • Hardscope? Quickscope? Lucky shot? Take your pick in the Snipers Only playlist. Regardless of the game mode, all Operators spawn with a Sniper Rifle and only a Sniper Rifle. Equipment, Secondary Weapons, Field Upgrades, Scorestreaks, and your Dedicated Melee Weapon are restricted. You still get your pick of Perks, so choose wisely and hone your marksman skills to perfection.

Cranked Moshpit (In-Season)

  • Crank up the adrenaline in this Moshpit where eliminations give you speed Perks and activate a bomb countdown on your Operator. Chain eliminations to refresh the bomb timer and earn twice the score for your team. If you do get taken out, start the process again and keep slaying to maintain your momentum.

New Weapons

PML 5.5 – LMG (Battle Pass)

  • Full-auto light machine gun. Fast rate of fire and high lethality offset by low mobility and hefty recoil.
  • When a rival Operator is holding the trigger down on the PML 5.56, you’ll know, mainly due to the damage and huge ammunition reserves, mitigated somewhat by a lengthy reload.

ABR A1 – Assault Rifle (Battle Pass)

  • Three-round burst assault rifle. Good handling and power. Moderate recoil and range. Configurable to full auto.
  • The iconic Assault Rifle returns! With a similar weapon being a fan-favorite staple of the Black Ops series, the ABR A1 combines a high damage output that can drop enemies in tight three-round bursts with a brief pause in-between, almost fast enough to be called automatic.

Boxing Gloves – Melee (In-Season, Event Reward)

  • Moderate damage. Fast attack speed. Long range.
  • Slip on the Boxing Gloves and knock out foes with a swift barrage of jabs and uppercuts.

New Attachments

9mm PM Skull Splitter (Two Attachments, Battle Pass)

  • Bring the power and precision of a marksman rifle to your favorite pistol with the 9mm PM Skull Splitter Barrel. The Barrel greatly increases damage, especially to the head, reducing rate of fire. Pair with an extended magazine that gives the Operator additional ammo for this weapon at the expense of handling.

PPSh-41 Helical Magazine (In-Season, Event Reward)

  • Fire to the beat of your own drum with this SMG attachment that puts other magazines to shame. Manage heat on this high-ammo count magazine that excels at spraying bullets in close and medium ranges.

Black Ops 6 Update 1.77 Deployed for Season 5

Treyarch has ushered in the latest seasonal content drop for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6! Players on consoles will see this appear as Black Ops 6 update 1.77, and this brings new maps, new modes, new weapons, balance changes and more.

There’s a lot to take in, so read on for everything new in the patch notes that outline the changes made, and of course, the new content.

Black Ops 6 Season 5 New Content

New Multiplayer Maps

RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business Update 1.004 Out on Consoles to Fix Blockers

Teyon has pushed out the first patch for RoboCop: Rogue City’s standalone expansion, Unfinished Business. This primarily fixes blockers that have plagued gamers since launch.

The download is out on consoles and should appear as RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business update 1.004 (ver. 01.004.000), and this should be a small download.

For what got fixed, read on, copper.

RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business Progression Blockers Now Fixed in Latest Update Out on Aug. 7

Here’s what got fixed per Teyon:

• Weapon pick up issues
• Bomb defusal blocker
• Movie night quest

Note that this is for consoles. The patch, which housed some of the fixes above was released on PC in July, and had the following fixes:

  • Fix for the black screen blocker during the Bomb Disarm sequence
  • Fix for the Movie Night quest
  • Fix for enemies disappearing during takedowns
  • Fix for a crash that could occur when performing finishers on a Heavy Mercenary

Given the game is a single-player title, we’re not expecting a lot of updates to be released, though there are still some issues that persist, so perhaps we’ll get another one at some point.

If you’re on the fence whether to get this standalone title, our review spoke very highly of it, stating, “Rogue City was, without a doubt, the best RoboCop game ever made, and now, Unfinished Business stands shoulder-to-shoulder with it, cementing both as essential plays for every fan of the franchise.”

Death Stranding 2 New Update 1.008 Fixes Stutter Isssues

Kojima Productions has released the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach update 1.008 (complete ver. 01.008.000) on PS5 today, and it’s for a particular fix that has bothered gamers for a while now.

This a minor update, and doesn’t add in new gameplay features or content, though its fix is something players have been looking forward to for quite some time.

Death Stranding 2’s Update on August 7 Applies Fixes via Patch 1.008

Clocking in at 925 MB, today’s Death Stranding 2 patch “addresses an issue where the camera / environment would appear to stutter when in motion.”

Alongside this, the PlayStation support studio that helped in developing the game added that there are “other minor fixes and improvements” included as well.

We’ve yet to get a significant patch that addressed multiple issues, and there’s no word whether we’ll even get one eventually.

Hopefully, unlike the last patch released last month, today’s update doesn’t introduce any issues that require another update to address. We’re on the lookout for whether this patch also resolves issues not mentioned by the devs, and if we find anything, we’ll update the article with the info.

In other Sony PlayStation news, first-party Marvel fighting game Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is getting its first closed beta next month, and you might want to get in on the action. Sony is also busy, as they are suing Tencent for ripping off their Horizon franchise.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta Server Queues Implemented to “Protect” Player Experience

If you’re trying to log in to the Battlefield 6 open beta, you might be greeted with a message that you’re queued up to connect, and this is to ensure the servers don’t break.

DICE announced they are doing this to “protect” the player experience, though that means you’ll have to wait a while before you can connect to the game.

Battlefield 6 Beta Sees Players Line Up for Long Server Queues That Will Have You Wait a While

While I managed to play a few rounds of the BF6 beta, I had to quit to the main menu (which was bugged), so I had to close the app on PS5. Booting it again, saw myself placed in a queue with over 270,000 people ahead of me.

DICE has intentionally done this to ensure the servers don’t overload. The studio announced:

Since this is Battlefield’s biggest Open Beta ever, we’re putting in the work to ensure that players have the best possible experience and servers remain stable.”

To support this, we will use queues to protect the player experience but expect this impact to be minimal.

You may encounter this during high peak moments, such as the start of servers going live. The team is working constantly to reduce any queue that takes place.

Thank you for your continued excitement and patience.

DICE has also announced they are working to increase server capacity to reduce queue time. “The team is now working on a substantial increase in server capacity, which will reduce your time in the queue. Thank you for your continued patience as we work to get as many of you into the game as soon as possible,” per the studio’s latest announcement.

It’s been a few minutes now and I’m now placed 144,000 in line. Needless to say, if you plan to play the Battlefield 6 beta today, make sure you’ve stocked up on patience, as you’ll need it. At least the servers haven’t gone down, right? Though that could still happen once we reach the weekend and literally everyone (even without early access) can play it. The real test will be this coming weekend, and we wouldn’t be shocked to see the servers give out.

In other Battlefield 6 news, the developers have confirmed that AI bots will be in the game, but it will be to fill out matches.

For those on PC, we’ve published a handy guide on enabling Secure Boot, which is mandated by DICE in order to load the game.

Fortnite Update 37.00 for Version 1.000.189 Ushers in Chapter 6 Season 4; Patch Notes Detail Everything New

The latest major update for Fortnite is here, and this ushers in Chapter 6 Season 4 for Battle Royale! There are also additions to OG Fortnite, as well as other modes.

Epic Games calls this Fortnite update 37.00, and those on consoles will see it as version 1.000.189. Expect a bigger download than usual, which is understandable given the amount of content we’re getting.

Read on for what’s new in Chapter 6 Season 4: Shock ‘N Awesome, as well as the gameplay adjustments from Epic Games.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 Update Ver. 1.000.189 New Content

Island, Infested

Make no mistake — this is warfare, and the bugs… well, the bugs are winning. The Island is an absolute mess of goopy nests and egg sacs. Prepare to stomp and smash the swarm with the O.X.R., the Island’s anti-bug military defense force.

New POIs:

The Hive – Recon shows high insect activity at The Hive. Running into the swarm here is an absolute certainty, and entry is not advised without a proper stock of ammunition.

O.X.R. HQ -Troops are stationed in the barracks at O.X.R. HQ. Here you’ll find the O.X.R. commanders at the battle ops hub in the main building and an O.X.R. Armory where you can buy weapons and other items with Bars.

Ranger’s Ruin – Ranger’s Ruin is a cautionary tale. Formerly a bustling weapons lab for the O.X.R., the base was lost to the infestation. Needless to say, it’s rife with quality loot if you’re willing to get your hands dirty!

New Enemies

  • Swarmer – The most common is the bottom-feeder, the Swarmer. (These are gross little buggers.) They’ll bog you down if you don’t take them out quickly.
  • Bomber – Near the nests, you’ll find hefty Bomber bugs on guard. These chonkers like to burrow and pop up behind you before letting loose a goop lob from afar that you really don’t want to catch a whiff of.
  • Queen – Then we have the alphas: the Queens. Usually burrowed deep, Queens are massive slugs, taller than most buildings. They’ll surface after you’ve rid their nest of bugs, then they’ll summon their grimy kin and try to body slam you something fierce. You might be reminded of that breakdance move… “the worm.” It’s an embarrassing way to go, but most don’t stay uneliminated to talk about it anyway.

Welcome to the O.X.R.

As you’re pelting pests, eliminating opposing players, and looting Chests, your O.X.R. Rank will increase. All players will start each match with C rank, and can rise through the ranks of B, A, S, and S+. O.X.R. rank is shared among all members of a party.

Each time you rank up, an O.X.R. Drop Pod packed full of loot will be sent to your location. Each drop pod you earn includes a Super Soldier Boon for good measure (more on these later). At rank A, you’ll also earn access to O.X.R. Bunkers containing Exotic weapons! Hit S+ and you’ll get a drop pod that’s guaranteed to contain a Mythic weapon.

  • The Bug Blaster is an excellent example. Let loose explosive plasma projectiles or charge it up to really pack a wallop!
  • The Roly Poly, coming later this Season, might be your preferred method of transportation. Roll and bounce around the map, or charge it up and let it rip for a big burst of speed!
  • Pick up O.X.R. issue equipment like the Leadspitter 3000 minigun, Sweeper ShotgunO.X.R. RifleWrecker Revolver, and the laser-guided Swarmstrike rocket launcher.

Later this Season, you’ll be able to wield the iconic Power Rangers sidearm, the Blade Blaster. This sleek, sci-fi energy pistol is a lightweight hip cannon that allows for quick-tap firing or powerful, charged-up bursts. Pew pew!

Light up the parasites and watch ‘em scatter with all-new Exotics that can be found exclusively in bunkers after hitting O.X.R. Rank A:

  • Eradicator O.X.R. Rifle: After successfully hitting an enemy, its damage ramps up with subsequent successful hits.
  • Double Trouble: Two shotguns that can be double-pumped (swapped between with no delay).
  • Shock n’ Slow Shockwave Launcher: Lobs Shockwave Grenades that cause a slowdown effect mid-air to both enemies and allies.
  • Marksman Wrecker Revolver: Wrecker Revolver but with a higher hip fire rate and headshot multiplier.
  • Exotic Slap Berry Fizz: Flowberry Fizz that also grants Slap.

Get to the Whirlybird!

Aerial capabilities are one of the few areas where the O.X.R. has a leg up on the swarm, and the mighty Hammerhead Choppa coming later this Season is proof. The mechanics of this ‘copter allow for briefly hovering mid-air while you switch seats to lay down suppressing fire on the other side. It also gets great gas mileage!

Boons from the Cocoon

Leave a trail of antennae and thoraxes in your wake with a new set of Boons! Some of these Boons can be found in O.X.R. Chests and Hive Sacs around the Island, found in Drop Pods, or rewarded for completing mid-match objectives (such as clearing the swarm from a POI):

  • Agile Aiming Boon: While aiming down sights, your recoil and spread will be reduced and you’ll maintain more of your movement speed.
  • Extended Magazine Boon: Increases clip size for all your weapons.
  • Storm Forecast Boon: The next Storm circle is always revealed to you.
  • Super Soldier Ranked Boons (exclusively from O.X.R. Drop Pods):
    • [Super Soldier Boon: Rank B] Reduces Energy consumption when sprinting.
    • [Super Soldier Boon: Rank A] Rank B ability + increases reload speed.
    • [Super Soldier Boon: Rank S] Rank B and A abilities + reduces weapon recoil and spread.
    • [Super Soldier Boon: Rank S+] Rank B, A, and S abilities + increases sprint speed and gives you unlimited Energy

Entomology Meets Medallions

Clear the swarm from certain POIs and you’ll find yourself face to face with one of the three Queen bugs. Each gives a unique Mythic weapon and Medallion when defeated!

  • Defeat the Queen at The Hive to receive the Mythic Enhanced Wrecker Revolver and Surge Medallion, which increases movement speed and gives a burst of speed when sliding.
  • Defeat the Queen at Demon’s Domain to receive the Mythic O.X.R. Assault Rifle and Springleg Medallion, which gives you the ability to double jump, with fall damage immunity.
  • Defeat the Queen at Ranger’s Ruin to receive the Mythic Sweeper Shotgun and Carapace Medallion which gives 50 Health when you eliminate an opponent, and passively gives 3 Shield per second up to 50 Shield.

Community Bug Fixes

The following fixes are from issues that you submitted to us on the forums. Thank you for your patience and for reporting these issues!

  • Fixed an issue with the Octane vehicle behaving incorrectly.
  • Fixed an issue where the Score Manager device score UI would stay on screen.
  • Fixed an issue where inventory images were decreasing in size when the client window was resized.
  • Fixed an issue where the Launch Pad was not being granted by item granter.

Fortnite Ecosystem Updates and Fixes

New:

  • Added support for variable periods of Health/Shield/Overshield regeneration, which is configurable in Island Settings, the Class Designer device, and the Team Settings & Inventory device.
    • Increased the default application period from 0.2 seconds to 1 second.
    • Increased the default application amount from 1 to 5.

Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where users could create the same island multiple times after approving the island’s name due to a delay in the menu closing. This could have resulted in duplicate islands that didn’t function correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where creators could place prefabs/galleries outside the Creative map boundary.
  • Fixed a typo in the Lawless Final Mark Rifle.
  • Fixed an issue where the Surf Cube was not fully compatible with third-person controls.
  • Fixed an issue where players could push each other through walls with the Shove item.
  • Fixed an issue where pressing the left trigger on the gamepad would paste and scale a preview. The left trigger is now used exclusively to access the quickbar when held.
  • Fixed an issue where collide with copies didn’t work with Terrain mode collision for actors and entities.
  • When enabling the Top Center Scoreboard HUD in Island Settings, it will now take into account anything other than Score used as the Stat to End, displaying the goal and current team score values as appropriate.

Device Updates and Fixes

New:

  • Added a new style option to the Supply Drop Spawner to allow the spawning of Drop Pods. Drop Pods behave similarly to existing supply drops with two key differences:
    • The drop pod persists on the island after it has been opened.
    • The drop pod can be damaged, and will release its contents when destroyed.

To support this, the device has a new function Destroy Spawned Drops to destroy any drop pods or crates previously spawned by the device, and a new event On Crate Destroyed to detect when a drop pod or crate has been destroyed.

  • Added a new military-style chest to the Chest & Ammo Gallery.
  • Added a Close button to the Pop-Up Dialog device options, and increased the maximum number of buttons from 6 to 12.
  • Added a Verse API for the Voting Group and Voting Options devices.

    • Character device
    • Character Controller device
    • Dance Mannequin device
    • Guard Spawner device

Fixes:

  • Earth Sprite fixes:
    • Fixed an issue where the Earth Sprite idle animation did not loop.
    • Fixed an issue where the Earth Sprite head would not look forward when it was not tracking a player.
  • Fixed an issue where the Earth Sprite played the belch montage once it turned visible, after it dropped a weapon while it was invisible.
  • When using a disguise set to random, respawning would cause the disguise to re-randomize even if the Replace Existing option was set to False. Now a player will respawn with the same random outfit they had.
  • The Post Process device effects of Film NoirSepiaDesolate, and Horror Movie are now consistent with other platform versions on Switch and Switch 2.
  • In the Elimination Manager, Score removed from a player now reflects as intended the Penalty Amount displayed.
  • The Launch Pad is now granted by the Item Granter as expected on a published island.
  • Players in vehicles will no longer take damage from props moved with the Prop Mover device.
  • Non-interactable objects acting as props are no longer highlighted when aimed at by the Prop-o-matic.
  • When teleporting and spawning items with the Item Spawner using Verse API, the item or weapon is now spawned on the correct position according to where the device base is.
  • A hologram of the item can now be seen above the Item Spawner in edit mode.

UEFN Updates and Fixes

New:

  • Increased performance when handling input from mice with high polling rates.
  • Added the new sum cell reduction method for the Spatial Profiler.
  • Added line trace unit nodes to Control Rig.
  • Added two new ways to spawn at different locations when launching a UEFN session:
    • Spawn at Viewport Camera checkbox, which will spawn the player at the UEFN viewport camera location in edit mode and play mode.

  • Resize Texture Import Data now works on Texture2DArray assets.
  • Exposed more mesh component properties in UEFN:
    • bDisallowNanite
    • bRenderInMainPass
    • bRenderInDepthPass
    • BoundsScale
  • Added Subpixel Morphological Anti-Aliasing.

Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue with the collide with copies option for entities.
  • Fixed an issue where billboard backgrounds were hidden in edit mode for the Detonation Feature Example.
  • Fixed an issue where the rotation axis visuals on preview didn’t reflect the rotation applied on entities.
  • Fixed an issue with the user having access to the resize UI when multiselecting an actor and an entity on mobile.
  • Fixed an issue where the bounds of an entity preview were not attached to the center of it.

  • Fixed an issue that prevented the UV Editor menu entry from showing if any invalid components were present on the selected actor(s).
  • Fixed a crash occurring when creating a new empty level with vertex snapping enabled.

Fortnite New Update 4.78 Delivers v37.00 Chapter 6 Season 4

Prepare for Shock ‘N Awesome in Fortnite’s latest update! This brings the Power Rangers, Halo and a lot more into Battle Royale starting today with the v37.00 content drop that ushers in Chapter 6 Season 4!

Console gamers will see this as Fortnite update version 4.78/01.000.189, and this is a heftier download than normal.

For the highlights of what’s new in Battle Royale, head on below.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 Update Now Live via Patch 4.78/01.000.189

• [Super Soldier Boon: Rank S] Rank B and A abilities + reduces weapon recoil and spread.
    • [Super Soldier Boon: Rank S+] Rank B, A, and S abilities + increases sprint speed and gives you unlimited Energy

Fortnite Down for v37.00 Roll Out on August 7 for Chapter 6 Season 4

A new season of Fortnite Battle Royale is kicking off today, August 7. But before that happens, Epic Games needs to pull down the servers to conduct maintenance and to release the v37.00 patch.

Compared to past maintenance periods, today’s downtime starts a lot earlier than usual, and this is most likely due to the amount of content dropping today.

Players will be getting crossover content featuring the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers and Halo!

Fortnite Servers Down on August 7 and This Is to Bring the New Content

Downtime for today begins at 2 am ET/11 pm PDT (Aug. 6) instead of the usual 4 pm schedule. Epic Games has not mentioned how long today’s server outage is, but chances are, it’ll be at least 2-3 hours long if past maintenance periods are anything to go by.

Once the servers are back up, Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 6 Season 4: SHock ‘N Awesome will be introduced, and this brings a host of new content for players.

Some of the key things to expect:

Island, Infested

That’s just the tip of the iceberg, as there are a ton more headed our way today, and I suggest checking each major addition via the Fortnite hub from Epic Games.

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Will Require Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 Enabled on PC

Call of Duty Season 5 is arriving tomorrow for both Black Ops 6 and Warzone, and one of the most significant changes coming with it for PC players is the inclusion of Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 security.

While it’s optional for Season 5,  both Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 will be requirements for Call of Duty Black Ops 7 when it releases later this year.

Call of Duty Joins the Many Multiplayer Games Pushing for Secure Boot Requirement

It was just this week that DICE announced that Battlefield 6 would be requiring Secure Boot on PC, and now, Activision is joining in by adding it to Call of Duty with the release of Season 5. This was revealed by the studio today, confirming that their anti-cheat tool will use both Secure Boot and TPM (Trusted Platform Module) 2.0 in the background.

But don’t worry just yet, as there’s plenty of time to turn the feature on if your PC supports it. With Season 5, both Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 will be optional. However, this will be the last season you can play with them off, as by the time the new one rolls in, Black Ops 7 will be out.

“With Season 05, Call of Duty will begin a phased rollout of two PC-based security features: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.”

TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) is an industry-standard, hardware-based security feature built onto CPUs or motherboards that verifies the PC’s boot process has not been tampered with. Secure Boot makes sure a PC can only load trusted software when Windows starts.

Together, these features help #TeamRICOCHET ensure that players are starting the game from a secure, cheat-free foundation.

RICOCHET Anti-Cheat will focus on activating both features in the background with the upcoming season launch. We won’t be enforcing against or requiring the use of either setting during Season 05, but these features will be foundational for even stronger protections in the future.”

Despite their wording on their Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 guidance page saying that PCs with Windows 11 likely have the feature enabled, I can tell you first hand across multiple PC builds that this is actually less likely to be the case.

Regardless, you’ll want to ensure both features are turned on. Activision has provided a detailed guidance page, though you’ll need to do a bit of research on your own as not all PCs have the exact same motherboard and such.

This seems to be the direction that all online multiplayers are likely going to end up enforcing, and though it doesn’t stop cheaters and hackers 100%, it does do a much better job than without the requirements.

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 currently has no release date, but it’s expected to arrive before the Holiday season of 2025.

Despite Negative Feedback About It From BF2042, Battlefield 6 Will Still Feature AI Bots

If there’s one thing I personally didn’t like about Battlefield 2042, it was the bots that would populate every match. Sure, it’s a tall order to fill out every 128-player matches, but even so, it’s jarring to see bots in battles, and while they are competent enough for the most part, it doesn’t feel as good getting kills against bots.

Unfortunately, bots will be part of Battlefield 6. This was confirmed by DICE themselves recently, though they shouldn’t be in every match.

Battlefield 6 Will Feature Bots But We’re Not Expecting Them to Be as Prevalent as in BF2042

Battlefield 6 Matchmaking

Bots in Battlefield 6 have been confirmed by DICE in an interview with Taiwanese gaming site GNN.Game. In the chat, Development Director Anna Narrevik, Senior Technical Artist Makoto Tanaka, and Gameplay Designer Jac Carlsson were all in attendance, and was asked:

Q: Will there be AI battles? When the game has been out for a long time, new players may have a high barrier to entry without AI battles.

Narrevik answered,  “The way the game uses AI is that when the server is not full, AI will be added to fill it.”

Carlsson continued, “I think Portal is a custom game mode that should serve this purpose and allow newcomers to train and improve their abilities,” which is perfectly fine and understandable.

Given how popular Battlefield 6 is now, I’m hoping we won’t need bots to fill matches given there will always be a ton of people playing worldwide. If we do run across bots, let’s hope DICE makes it more obvious that we are fighting against AI and not actual human players.

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait until the game’s October 10 launch to test this out, as the early access beta will kick off tomorrow! If you still need a code, EA is giving some out today, so it’s worth a shot.\

For those on PC, we’ve published a guide on enabling Secure Boot on PC, which should prove handy for those running into issues.

Expect a ton of Battlefield 6 coverage here on MP1st, especially once the beta starts tomorrow.
