Call of Duty and Battlefield LEGO Renditions of Levels Need to Be Seen to Be Believed

While there’s a boatload of LEGO-based video games, the chances of us seeing a LEGO-based shooter is slim to none. If you’re interested in seeing Call of Duty and Battlefield LEGO renditions of some of the best maps in the franchise, you’re in luck!

A bunch of different people have been working hard on LEGO renditions of Battlefield and Call of Duty maps, and I have to admit, they look awesome. The best thing here is, some even include instructions on how to make ’em! Just be prepared for hours of extensive work.

Reddit user Taris120 has been very prolific and he isn’t just sticking to one Battlefield game, either. Check out the Battlefield LEGO versions of Siege of Shanghai from Battlefield 4, Marita from BF5, Ballroom Blitz from BF1 and more!

Taris120 event went as far as Battlefield 3, as the most famous Battlefield 3 deathmatch map has been remade in LEGO! Yes, I’m talking about Noshar Canals!

Joining the party is Reddit user RealThe_B1G_E, who made a Battlefield LEGO rendition of a jeep jumping onto a tank, which is a common tactic in the series (you plaster the jeep with C4 and just drive into the tank to take them out).

The same redditor also made a LEGO version of Call of Duty’s Shipment, too!

Taris120 has started a Patreon where people can contribute to help them build more LEGO versions of Battlefield maps. As a bonus, he even threw in a tutorial on how to make Noshar Canals in LEGO for free (check it out in the Patreon link above).

I got to admit, these things look fantastic, and even DICE themselves have acknowledged how badass these are.

If you spot any cool, fan-made Battlefield or Call of Duty projects and want it featured here on MP1st, send us an email!

  • Fixed a bug that caused the controller sensitivity (max value) to be too low.

Major News Coming in Next Week’s Issue of Famitsu

Major News Coming in Next Week’s Issue of FamitsuNext week’s issue of Famitsu is apparently going to have a rather large scoop, as details have surfaced, teasing that it’ll be revolutionary and rile up the game industry.

This news comes from Japanese technology journalist Zenji Nishikawa, stating that the news will be on the level of the PS5 Wired article reveal that we saw last year.

My column in next week’s issue of Famitsu is crazy. I got a huge scoop… It’s a world premiere article. And an exclusive. It may not be Nikkei or Weekly Bunshun, but if you want to know if it’s a scoop that big…it totally is! It’s a scoop from a game company that everyone loves. An insane scoop. Last year, Wired got the exclusive story on PlayStation 5, right? Other media didn’t. It’s that level of a scoop. I interviewed a certain company’s executive and technical staff, it’s really revolutionary… really, it’s a revolution.

It’ll be in Famitsu next Thursday. I already sent in my manuscript, so the proofs are being made now. It’s a scoop on a level that when the story comes out, other media will make a fuss to the company like, “Why didn’t you let us cover it?” Maybe people will say, “Who was the first to break that story?,” “It was Zenji Nishikawa, right?” It’s a scoop as major as the PlayStation 5 scoop. I just wanted to say that in advance.

I can’t say [anything more] here, but it’s OK for me to tease it (laughs). I was told that it’s OK to do so at various meetings. It’s being talked about in other places. Just not by the media. It’ll rile up the games industry.

According to details posted on Gemetsu, this major news will indeed be related to the Japanese publisher giant, SEGA. No further details were revealed. SEGA is set to have 60th (yep they’re that old!) anniversary on June 3, with the weekly Famitsu issue releasing the following day. Whatever this news may be, we’ll be sure to keep you all updated as the development unfolds.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 Arrives June 11

The Fortnite team has given a new release date for Fornite Chapter 2 Season 3, extending the current season by one week.

In a post on the official Fornite website, the team updated its users with a short article confirming the new release date, along with the extension of Season 2.

“In an effort to get everything ready for Chapter 2 – Season 3, we’re extending Season 2 by one week. The new launch day of Season 3 will be Thursday, June 11.”

Additionally, they also confirmed that the one-time-only event known as “The Device” will now be scheduled for Saturday, June 6 at 2 PM ET. They warn users that if they want to secure a spot, then they should show up at least 30-minutes earlier as space is limited. This event will tie-in with the current Doomsday countdown that appeared in Fortnite over a week ago. It was originally set to end on May 30, but with the announcement of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 start date, it has also been pushed back a whole full week. We’ll be sure to keep you all updated on any new development as it unravels, and be sure to check back here on June 6 as we cover the event.

BlizzCon 2020 Canceled, Online Event Being Looked Into

To the surprise of no one, Blizzard’s BlizzCon 2020 event has been canceled due to COVID-19 o ensure the health and safety of both employees and fans.

This confirmation came from the official BlizzCon website, with them expecting a possible return in a digital form early next-year. You can read the full statement issued by the company down below.

Hello Blizzard community,

Several weeks ago, I shared an update about our uncertainty around holding BlizzCon this year. Since then, a lot has changed . . . and a lot also hasn’t changed. During this time, we’ve had many discussions about what holding a convention could look like in light of all the health and safety considerations we’d want to make. We’ve also talked about different paths we could take, and how each one could be complicated by fluctuations in national and local health guidelines in the months ahead. Ultimately, after considering our options, we’ve come to the very difficult decision to not have BlizzCon this year.

We’re feeling deeply disappointed about this decision, and imagine many of you will feel the same. I truly love BlizzCon, and I know that’s a sentiment shared by everyone at Blizzard. We will sorely miss connecting with so many of you at the convention and “recharging our geek batteries” this fall.

But we will meet again!

We’re talking about how we might be able to channel the BlizzCon spirit and connect with you in some way online, far less impacted by the state of health and safety protocols for mass in-person gatherings. We’d want to do this as soon as we could, but given that this is new-ish territory and the different factors involved, it will most likely be sometime early next year. BlizzCon is also a stage for big esports events in Blizzard games each year, so we’re also looking into alternatives for supporting some of the high-level competition that would normally take place at the show.

We’ll tell you more about our plans as they develop—but in the meantime, we hope to see you exploring the Shadowlands, hanging out in the Tavern, pushing the payload (do it!), and wherever else in the Blizzard universes you may roam.

Stay safe and stay well,

BlizzCon is the latest to join the long growing list of canceled gaming events this year. We’ll be sure to keep you al updated should the company decide to go the digital route, but for now, don’t expect to hear about the event anytime this year.

Apex Legends Season 5 Reception Sets Records for Weekly Hours Played & Highest Player Retention

Just two weeks ago, Respawn Entertainment launched the fifth season of Apex Legends, which introduced a new legen in Loba, and a bunch of other new content. As it turns out, this is just what the game needed! In a press release, EA talks about the Apex Legends Season 5 reception and how it has set records for the title.

According to EA, Apex Legends Season 5 has quickly became the best start of any season of Apex Legends to date! It has dirven the highest player retention for a season launch, with gamers playing for longer periods of time per day compared to any time previously.

Additionally, the Apex Legends launch trailers has now amassed over 47 million views to date, and is the most ever for Apex Legends launch trailers. Here’s what Chad Grenier, Game Director of Apex Legends had to say:

“Bringing more of the Apex Legends story and experience to life for our fans is the thrill of working on this game, and Season 5 is no exception. This season we wiped out Skull Town, which really allowed us to have some fun and do something unexpected. We’re happy to see that players, both new and returning, are really enjoying it.”

Given this latest news, it’s no wonder EA launched a second Respawn studio in Vancouver just to support Apex Legends.

Modern Warfare Akimbo Blades, Challenges & Weapons Gameplay for Season 4 Leaked

While we’ve already seen gameplay footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s incoming weapons for Season 4, we no have a better look at these now, and this includes the Modern Warfare Akimbo Blades teased briely in yesterday’s Season 4 trailer.

Twitter user BKTOOR has managed to mess with the game’s files and have posted a clip showcasing the Akimbo Blades, Galil assault rifle, Rytek AMR and even the Vector SMG! Check that out along with the translated text mentioning a few other weapons found in the game’s files.

Modern Warfare Akimbo Blades, Galil, Vector and more gameplay:

Also unearthed are new challenges tied to game weapons:

Note that while these are in the game’s files, there is no guarantee that we’ll see everything mentioned here in the game come Season 4. As it stands currently, Infinity Ward releases two weapons every season, and if this rings true for Season 4, then we’re only going to get two weapons which are probably the Galil and Vector. If you watched the gameplay and noticed that the sniper rifle doesn’t kick it at all, chances are this is due to the gun not being finalized yet.

The wait won’t be long, folks! We’ll be ushering in Season 4 next week on June 3 for all platforms. Stay tuned to MP1st for the latest Modern Warfare leaks and news.

Sony Patents Wireless Controller Charger Kit With Additional Buttons

Early this year, Sony released the official DualShock 4 back button attachment. Aside from that, though, it would appear that Sony is not yet done with back attachments as the company’s latest patent unearthed shows that they may be working on some wireless controller charging functionality.

The patent, which was filed in late 2018, went public today and revealed that this wireless charging attachment is indeed intended for gaming controllers.

A wireless charging adapter that can snap onto a computer game controller can be inductively coupled to a charging base to wirelessly recharge a battery in the controller. The adapter also can include keys that mirror keys on the controller so that a gamer can remove the adapter with controller from the charging base, keep the adapter on the controller, and use both the controller keys and adapter keys to control a computer game.

A number of images were also provided in the patent, revealing how this charging kit may look like, including the base that it communicates with and the additional buttons.

The details found in the patent reveals that the charge is sent via wireless communication between the base and the attachment, where the attachment then charges the battery of the controller.  As for how the buttons on the attachment work, if you look at the base unit above, you may notice some familiar PlayStation buttons along with some bigger ones (1206,1212,1210). These are actually used to map those buttons found on the attachment, as they will emit a light when they have been successfully paired with the device.

To map a game controller key to one of the left or right adapter keys 12081210, a user can press the set key 1206 and then press the left or right key 12081210 sought to be mapped. The first press of the key sought to be mapped may illuminate a first one of the indicators 1212. The user can look at the illuminated indicator and corresponding icon and if the user wishes to map the corresponding game controller key to the adapter key sought to be mapped, release both the set key and the adapter key sought to be mapped. If the user wishes to map a different controller key to the adapter key sought to be mapped, he presses the adapter key sought to be mapped again, which causes another indicator 1212 to be illuminated for mapping the controller key represented by the icon 1214 associated with the indicator to the adapter key sought to be mapped according to principles above. The user can scroll through the indicators (and hence game controller keys) in this fashion by holding down the set key 1206 and toggling the adapter key sought to be mapped until the indicator representing the sought-after game controller key is illuminated, at which time the user releases the adapter keys to establish the mapping.

As with all patents, nothing is a guarantee that it will ever see a final release of some sort, though it does give us an insight as to what a company is potentially working on for the PS5 controller, the DualSense. How do you guys feel about this? Is this something you could see yourself using with the DualSense? Or perhaps you’d rather have it built right into the controller itself? Let us know your thoughts!

Report – PS5 Event Scheduled for Next Week

While Sony continues its long silence on the matter of the PS5, sources have claimed that the company is planning to host a PS5 event and in just one week’s time.

This report comes from both Bloomberg and VentureBeat, who both have sources close to the company saying that the PS5 event is currently set for June 3. However, both websites make a note that these plans could change due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It was also stated that this event, while large, won’t actually show everything the PS5 has to offer as their source claims that the company has plans to do multiple events, including State of Plays that will focus on both current and next-gen offerings.

While the June 3 reveal should provide the best look yet at the PS5, don’t expect Sony to give away every detail about its next-gen system. The company could withhold price and release timing for another date. The price for the PS5 is still especially subject to fluctuations. Sony wants to launch at a competitive price tag, but it also doesn’t want to take a loss on hardware. -VentureBeat

No further details were supplied, and as such we highly recommend you take this with a grain of salt, no matter how credible these sources have been in the past. We should be hearing from Sony very soon on the matter as we inch closer to the Holiday season. So for now, stay tuned and we will be sure to keep you all updated on any new developments.

Marvel’s Avengers New Gameplay, Co-Op Details Set for Next Month

For a game that’s set to release later this year, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have both been rather quiet on the Marvel’s Avengers front. Thankfully, that’s about to change about a month from now, as Marvel’s Avengers new gameplay is set to be released!

This was announced by Square Enix, along with details on a War Table stream where gamers will also get info on co-op. There’s a new trailer out today showcasing the dev team and how they’re working hard on the game.

Speaking of co-op, Crystal Dynamics has confirmed before that there won’t be local co-op available in the game.

Hopefully, what we get this June will be substantial since not hearing about the game for so long is a bit worrying to be honest.

Marvel’s Avengers will assemble this September 4 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Modern Warfare Season 4 Start Date Announced With New Trailer

Ready for a new wave of content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare? Infinity Ward has today announced that the Modern Warfare Season 4 start date is June 3!

Not only that, but we even got a new trailer featuring Captain Price!

Aside from new multiplayer maps, and we assume further developments in Call of Duty: Warzone, it seems Infinity Ward wants to bring players up to speed, as a big round up of the story has been posted on Activision’s blog.

According to Infinity Ward, more character biographies will be coming in the coming days. We’re expecting a reveal of the new multiplayer maps, weapons and other stuff to be announced soon.

In other Call of Duty news, it seems we’re close to the reveal of Call of Duty 2020 which is rumored to be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War! There’s even an Easter egg that’s Black Ops-related Call of Duty: Warzone right now. Speaking of Warzone, a new rumor has surfaced stating that this year’s Call of Duty will be revealed in Warzone itself.

Street Fighter 5 New Characters, Stages Announced for Final “V” Season

Yesterday, Capcom teased that an announcement regarding Street Fighter 5 would be revealed today. While some people might have assumed this was nothing more than a new cosmetic bundle or whatnot, it’s definitely something beefier as Street Fighter 5 new characters and stages are planned!

In a new developer update post, Capcom announced that Street Fighter V is getting one more season called Season V! There will be V (5) new fighters added to the roster, and three new stages! Accorfing to Capcom, they will share more details regarding the new content this summer.

Here’s the note of the Street Fighter 5 dev team to the community:

THE FUTURE OF SFV:CE

We know our players are wondering what’s next for Street Fighter V, so we have some exciting news to share. Due to the positive reception to Season 4 and Champion Edition, we are planning to do a final Season “V”, which will add “V” more fighters to the roster. Three new stages are also being planned.

That’s all for now, but we’ll be back later this summer to share more details regarding the new content coming to Street Fighter V. For now, please continue enjoying everything included in Champion Edition.

Stay safe and thank you again for all the support.

Bye for now!

-SFV Dev Team
