Square Enix Looking Into Own Subscription Service

If you’re subscribed to EA Access, and Xbox Game Pass, and thinking about singing up for Uplay+ (for PC only), then you might want to sit down, as there might be another gaming subscription service coming our way soon.

In an interview with GamesIndustry, Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda confirmed that the publisher is looking into starting its own Square Enix subscription service similar to EA.

We are exploring at present both possibilities. And we do already provide games for Microsoft’s Game Pass. But at the end of the day, the direction that we’re thinking about is having a channel of our own.

Matsuda admits that launching a Square Enix subscription service would require a lot of investment on the publisher’s end. Again, this is not a confirmation that we’ll see another gaming subscription service, but don’t be surprised if it’s announced sometime soon by Square Enix.

Do you think this is a good idea on Square Enix’s part or are publisher’s running this subscription-based business model to the ground?

PSN Down Worldwide Currently, Sony Aware of Issues (Update)

Update:

Sony’s official PSN status page now says that “All services are up and running.”

Try to see if that’s true and comment down below.

Original Story:

While Sony might not have been at this year’s E3, it seems the company is still making the news during E3 week but not for the right reasons. Currently, PSN down for the servers is happening worldwide, though Sony is aware of the issue.

According to the Ask PlayStation Twitter, Sony is currently investigating the matter.

Over on the official PSN status website, it marks everything as “experiencing issues.” Video game forum ResetEra users have also reported that PSN is down for them which means no gaming, YouTube or anything online-related.

It’s unknown what caused this PSN down issue to crop up suddenly, but hopefully, it’s nothing serious. Once the servers are back up, we’ll let our readers know.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake First Part Release Will Only Focus on Midgar

With Square Enix’s gameplay reveal of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy 7 Remake, more info about the game is trickling out. Now if you thought you can just coast through this remake real quick since you’ve played and finished the original, think again.

According to Final Fantasy 7 director Yoshinori Kitase(yes, the director of the original one), the Final Fantasy 7 Remake first game release (which is coming on two Blu-ray discs) will focus just on Midgar! Not only that, but Kitase also mentions that while the first part release will be just for Midgar, it’ll have as much content as any mainline Final Fantasy game!

Kitase explained that they’re doing this so they can reimagine the game in a modern content without losing anything that was in the original in terms of environments. If you watched the Square Enix E3 press conference, you might have noticed that the Guard Scorpion boss, which was a short fight in the original, was fleshed out to be longer in the stage demo.

I don’t know about you, but if Midgar alone comes in two Blu-ray discs, I shudder to think how long and how much discs the rest of the game will encompass in its entirety.

Are you OK with this or would you prefer a more streamlined approach to this remake?

The Division 2 Next Update (Update #4) Scheduled for Next Week, Here’s Some of the Changes Planned

At yesterday’s The Division 2 State of the Game livestream, Ubisoft discussed what’s coming next to the looter shooter, and it’s the next major patch (title update #4)! According to Ubisoft, The Division 2 next update is scheduled sometime next week, though no specific date has been given.

Thanks to Reddit user JokerUnique, here’s the list of The Division 2 planned changes coming in title update #4!

PTS / Update 4

Signature Weapon Balancing

It was reported by the community, that the Signature Weapons do less damage on PTS. That is not intended. The goal is to buff the Signature Weapons to make them viable in the game.

Gear Mod Change

  • Generic Gear Mods could be stacked so that one or two stats are too strong. That has been addressed so that you can’t equip Generic Gear Mods on high-end gear anymore. They are intended for the campaign and not for the endgame.
  • There were six Gear Mod Types before and that has been reduced to 3: Damage, Utility, Defensive. There are no longer System and Protocol requirements on the mod-slots. Now you just fit damage mod to damage mod-slots. That makes it easier to equip the mods.
  • That means you can use the Generic Gear Mods in the campaign and replace them at a fast frequency. Once you hit endgame it is easier to equip the mods that you get, because there are fewer requirements.

Visual Update for Named Items

  • They wanted to add more lore to the game at launch and that is why they added the named weapons.
  • The named weapons have a designated name and lore to them, but they follow the same stat-rules of normal weapons.
  • To make them more special – they got a visual upgrade so that they are more interesting.

New Exotic Holster

  • The first exotic gear item will be added to the game with Update 4: “Dodge City Gunslinger’s Exotic Holster”
  • You have to buy a blueprint from the vendor and collect the crafting materials in a small quest.

Improvement to Weekly Invasion Rewards

  • If you are at GS 500, you get GS 500 items from them as rewards.
  • Same applies to Hard and Challenging Named Enemies

Aux Battery Mods

The icon of the mod will now match the Skill

Blueprints Shared across characters

Not scheduled for Update 4 – but it is on their radar.

Again, no definite schedule has been given, but don’t be surprised if it drops on a Tuesday in the wee hours of the morning as server maintenance is being done.

As you can see, it’s mostly (or entirely) about gameplay balance tweaks and the like. If it’s content you’re looking for, don’t fret. Ubisoft has outlined what’s coming to the game in Year 1, and even showed a teaser for what’s coming in episode 3 in early 2020.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reveal Trailer Was “100% In-Game, Running at 60fps, No Magic, No Trickery” Says Infinity Ward

It was just last month that Infinity Ward announced the latest Call of Duty, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare,” and while it was confirmed that Infinity Ward would be at E3 this year, it would seem that Modern Warfare has, for the most, been a no show. Surprisingly this is the first E3 where a mainline series of Call of Duty didn’t have anything to show.

In total, Infinity Ward was scheduled to make six appearances during live streams at E3. It was thought by many that they would have shared some form of footage during their big Colosseum event, however we were only treated with light details of some of the characters and some teaser images for the multiplayer mode. All six appearances happened and not a shed of gameplay was revealed, which left many fans disappointed. One could say it breaks tradition, as Call of Duty has always had a presence at E3 since the first Call of Duty in 2003. Every mainline iteration after that has had some form of footage air during E3, though with PlayStation being absent this year and Activision having a marketing deal with them it seemed likely that this was the reason why there was nothing shown. Though from a recent comment made by Infinity Ward’s Senior Communications Manager, Ashton Williams stated that the team just simply wasn’t ready to show anything yet.

One of the best parts about revealing the game (which was two weeks ago) is talking about it with as many people as we can. We’ve been holding in so much since we started this project that finally being able to talk about it is a relieving and incredibly exciting feeling. We know you all want new info, gameplay, etc., and we can’t wait to share all of that with you when we’re ready.

And lastly, Infinity Ward’s Studio Narrative Director Taylor Kurosaki shared some closing thoughts during their last E3 interview that Infinity Ward (via Xbox Mixer stream) letting fans know that they (Infinity Ward) hear how fans want to see gameplay, and to be patient as everything will be coming eventually. Oh, and what we saw in the reveal trailer was “100 percent in-game” was mentioned as well.

“We have so much more to show..I know our fans are dying to see more from the game. Look let me just speak to the fans right now. Everything in the trailer completely 100% in-game running at 60 FPS, no magic no trickery. That is the game, you want gameplay its in there, the entire trailer is gameplay. however,  we know you want to see actual mission, we know you want to see stuff. Do not mistake our silence at this moment as not having the goods, I have been in this industry for twenty something years. I have never worked on a game where we have the goods like we have in this game. Its coming. Patience, its coming.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare isn’t set to launch until October giving us roughly four months left till then. We expect to see plenty of gameplay from the campaign, hopefully in the coming months along with some multiplayer reveals that everyone is wanting to see. We’ll make sure to keep you posted till then.

BioWare Asked Influencers for Anthem Feedback at EA Play & Ignored Hundreds of Actual Gamers, Community Upset

We’ve already documented how Anthem was essentially absent from any new announcements at this weekend’s EA E3 event called EA Play. Unfortunately though, that hole gets dug a little deeper it seems. Over at EA Play, EA had kiosks with Anthem playable for the general public. While that in itself isn’t news-worthy, what happened after is.

Over on the Anthem subreddit, the top, most upvoted thread right now is how BioWare only looked for feedback from “influencers” (read: YouTubers, streamers, etc.) at EA Play and not from the actual gamers on the event floor who, y’know, actually play their game.

Here’s the screenshot that’s shown in the thread, with Lead Producer for Anthem Ben Irving telling the fan who tweeted to go to AHQ Anthem and post their feedback. Naturally, the thread is FULL of people upset at BioWare and how they’ve (mis)handled the event.

The thread is full of people up in arms on how BioWare values influencers more than actual gamers who paid for the game, and how this was a missed opportunity by the studio to connect to the Anthem player base.

Of course, there is the chance that this is all EA’s doing, but even so, couldn’t someone at BioWare attending the event send out a survey or just ask random people trying the game for feedback?

Is the Anthem community overreacting or did BioWare really did miss a big opportunity here to not only seek feedback, but also to connect to the player base?

Report: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Factions and Emblems Revealed

While Infinity Ward has only revealed the single-player portion of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare so far, we do know quite a fair bit of info when it comes to multiplayer. Well, we can chalk up another new info that’s known today, and that’s Modern Warfare factions and the existence of it.

Below, what appears to be the full set of Modern Warfare factions and their emblems can be seen, which were spotted on new officially licensed Modern Warfare apparel (via Twitter user ShadowDeathGaming).

It’s currently unknown whether these are Operator emblems or factions is something new that will be introduced in multiplayer. Regarding Operators, Activision has already mentioned that these will only be cosmetics-only and won’t be like Specalists in Black Ops 4 that can affect gameplay.

For now, we’re going with factions since that’s what the NewEra tags it with.

How will factions work in Modern Warfare? Let’s hope the multiplayer reveal will come soon though don’t expect that to come at this year’s E3, since all Infinity Ward is talking about is single-player.

Marvel’s Avengers Will Not Be Open World, Can Be Played Solo; Offline Play Still Not Confirmed

At Square Enix’s E3 2019 press conference, Marvel fans around the world got their wish as the publisher gave us our first look at Marvel’s Avengers, though it birthed quite a number of questions than answers. Fortunately for us, it’s E3 week, and that means developers are sitting down to talk about their game. Crystal Dynamics Lead Producer Rose Hunt and Lead Designer Philippe Therien sat down recently for a public Q&A clearing up some of the most asked questions.

One of the big questions, seeing that its been known for some time now that Marvel’s Avengers would heavily focus on online co-operative play is that whether or not the game could be played offline solo. Unfortunately it wasn’t made completely clear if you could play it offline, though you can play most of the game in solo play.

So yea, you can play just about everything by yourself if you want to, but absolutely I would strongly encourage people to gather your friends and go play the game with your buddies. Like Avengers is awesome when you have an Avengers team, and it’s just so much more fun in multiplayer, but yeah most of this stuff you can play by yourself.

The answer definitely dodges whether or not there’s offline play as it focuses more on the fact that you can play the content by yourself, which plenty of online only titles do such as Destiny and The Division. It should come to no surprise however, given that while the game may be focused on delivering a strong story, it does also focus largely on the multiplayer co-op aspect and the ever evolving world associated with it. Though its never flat out stated, so take his reply as you will.

And speaking of the world one thing that many are wondering is whether or not the game would be open world and this has been confirmed not to be the case, at least to some degree. It’ll opt for a Hub style system, where the main area, which they call the base of operation will operate as a central access point for all the other locations. It’ll still have very large areas for players to explore in, but it’ll function off a hub selection rather than one seamless connected map.

“There’s a really huge world to explore, from that base of operation you can go to many different places. We’re really excited to show you guys all the cool places you can go to. It was just way too big to contain in just one place, so its multiple different areas that’ll take the Avengers all over the place.”

The Game was  way too big to contain in one big open world, so we really sub-divided it into different regions you could go to and that gave us the opportunity to just make a lot more different environments you could play in . We went with variety instead of just going with one big city or area, and  honestly I think we are coming out a lot better for it.”

This does make sense as the Avengers tend to travel around the globe wherever they’re needed and this will offer a far richer game in terms of setting versus having it take place for almost the entirety of the game in a city or one area.

Regarding offline play, given how this seems to be an ever-evolving game that heavily emphasizes team play, we suspect offline play won’t be an option — at least for now.

What eSports Streamers Can Learn From Successful Live Dealer Online Casino Players

How do you become a good Twitch streamer? This is one of the most asked questions by many beginner streamers. And who would blame them? Ninja earned $10 million in 2018 and a dozen more players consistently earned $1 million or more.

While not everyone can become as popular as Ninja, most streamers can become successful on Twitch. There are hundreds of millions of people constantly looking for good streams. Become one of them and you could end up becoming a millionaire very soon. Where do you start? Follow these tips used by successful live dealer online casino players.

Pick a Good Game

Most successful live casino players don’t play all kinds of games. If they wanted to, they could play poker; roulette, Blackjack, craps, Keno or even live slots games. But then again, they would never become good in any particular game.

In a similar way, Twitch streamers have access to tons of games. From Overwatch to League of Legends, Fortnite to Gods of War, there are plenty of games for each kind of player. However, some games have more fans than others. Individually, you’re probably better in one game than the other.

Search for the most streamed Twitch games and choose one of them. You could also add a second game you believe is less streamed but has numerous fans. Learn about the game and practice as much as possible. Find good playing strategies and incorporate them into your gaming action.

Get Good Tool Kits

Ever joined a live casino game? Everything is designed to give you an absorbing experience. Dealers are good looking and smartly designed. Gaming software runs smoothly and you could access streams in whichever picture quality you love.

While you can’t control the devices fans use to access your stream, make things good for them. Always stream using HD or full HD video quality. Invest in powerful microphones, great gaming computers, and lighting systems.

Turn your streaming channel and gaming room into an immersive place. Make it a place viewers want to visit again because they’re entertained and can access your streams without any hindrances. Get a grip of what an immersive gaming experience is by checking out the best live dealer online casinos in the UK on toponlinecasinos.co.uk.

Adopt a Pro’s Mindset and Work Hard

Compared to the online casino industry, Twitch is still a young industry. Still, it’s important to put your mind and dedication into streaming as much as you can. Most successful live dealers put all their efforts toward succeeding.

Keep in mind casino players have to deal with losses every now then. Sometimes they win. Sometimes they lose. But they never give up. Instead, they view gaming as a profession and act like their livelihoods depend on it.

Of course, most of the top streamers are hard working. There is no way they would get to their level without hard work. Valkia, for example, streams every day for about 5-8 days. He’s also YouTuber and starts his morning by creating YouTube videos.

Ninja also streams frequently. Last year, he streamed 3,800 hours, an equivalent of 5 full months. As a beginner, you can start off streaming 2-3 hours per day. With time, increase your streaming time.

Socialize with Fans and Build a Community

Many live dealer casino players don’t have fan bases. They play against small groups of players and dealers. But admittedly, social skills are an important part of every good live dealer player. Knowing fellow players help identify their strengths and weaknesses.

For eSports streamers, socializing with fans helps build a community. And this is very important. Everyone starts with one fan, then you gain two, five and before you know it—there are one 10000 people watching your streams.

It asks for a lot of dedication to become a successful streamer. Take your time to learn about your fan base. Join the chat room and read their comments about your streams. If they ask for content, find and deliver it to them.

Your end game as a streamer is not only to become famous and successful but to also have a community of fans. A community sticks with you during the hard times. They continue subscribing when you change games and are more likely to sell whatever you promote to them.

Spice up your Content

Even the biggest Overwatch or LOL fans want a break sometimes. They may want you to stream the latest game in the market or talk about your gaming schedule. Remember that most fans subscribe to interact with gamers and hear their stories.

Find lots of materials out there and add variety to your streams. A good way to find content to stream is to talk to your community. Ask them what they want to see you streaming sometimes. Listen to their complaints and improve on those areas also.

Be Consistent

It’s more difficult to be a consistent gambler than to be a streamer. With gambling, you lose money a lot—and this can demoralizing. On the other hand, the only reason you can’t be a consistent streamer is if you are not serious about it.

You could become a procrastinator, lazy or prioritize other things over your gaming work. But whatever your flaws, these are all things you can change. Successful live dealer players are not only consistent players but they also work on their flaws.

Flaws with casino players include such things as being impatient, being poor time or bankroll managers or getting distracted by dealers. If they can overcome these issues plus losses to play their games consistently, you can do the same as a streamer.

To Conclusion

Everyone wants the success that comes with being a top streamer. Not everyone is willing to put in the hard work and succeed. Learn from live dealer online casino players. While they have strategies that help increase their wins, they lose at times. They don’t give up though.

The best live casino players work on their flaws, build a community around their streams and work hard until they’re successful.

Marvel’s Avengers: Dev Team Listening to All Feedback and Will Improve Visuals, Hero Lock Confirmed

Yesterday, Square Enix dropped one of the biggest bombshells at this year’s E3 with the official reveal trailer for Marvel’s Avengers. Unfortunately though, the reveal might not have gone over as well as people would have liked when it comes to how the characters look.

In a video interview with GameSpot, VP & Creative Director of Marvel Games Bill Rosemann confirmed that they are listening to “all the feedback.” Near the end of the interview, Rosemann mentioned, “Hey, true believers out there, we want to thank you for last night, for watching the trailer. Your energy was awesome! All the comments we’re hearing, we’re listening to them, we’re sharing them, we’re bringing them back to the studio, we’re listening to you…thank you!”

With this statement, it seems Rosemann is quite aware that the character designs have not gone over well to both comic book and video game fans, which is understandable, given most people might have been expecting the game’s characters to look more like the Avengers in the recently released Avengers: Endgame than something you’d see in Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite.

Also in the interview, Crystal Dynamics Creative Director Shaun Escayg confirmed that there will be a “character lock” feature in the game. This means that if someone on your team selects Iron Man, you won’t be able to select the same hero for your team. Additionally, Escayg revealed that a lot of customization options will come into play which will make each character your own.

Lastly, over on Twitter, the official Marvel’s Avengers Twitter posted a video interview where the dev team shares how they’re improving everything in the game, and that everything we saw was in pre-alpha, and yes, this includes the visuals.

There you have it, true believers! Let’s hope Crystal Dynamics gives us an Avengers game that will knock our superhero socks off come May 2020.

    • Adjusted Storm Flip to cause flat damage instead of being based on which Storm Phase is currently active.
      • Causes 5 damage every second.
      • This change may not be immediately available at the time of release. It requires a server update and will become active at some point later in the day.
      • We noticed with scaling damage that players held onto their Storm Flip later into matches, creating undesirable effects. This change gives players more value in using it earlier in matches.
    • Reduced the availability from Chests from 3.39% to 1.69%
    • Reduced the availability from Floor loot from 3.32% to 1.66%
    • Added back into the Arena and Tournament playlists.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 Campaign Will Feature Two Factions, New Characters Detailed

Some fresh new details have been revealed about the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 campaign, giving us our first look at the playable characters, and what factions will be featured in the game.

The campaign will be split in half with two factions; one playing from a Tier 1 Operator’s perspective, while the other half will see us play from a different view point as an embedded CIA agent fighting with Rebel Fighters. Along with this we learn exactly who we are playing as, which you can read up below.

Captain Price

Barry Sloan will be playing Captain Price this time around, and while the character certainly will pay homage to Billy Murray Captain’s Price, expect an entirely different character. The team went on to compare this to the James Bond films where its the same character, but portrayed by different actors. Players will spend half the game fighting alongside Captain Price.

Sargent Kyle Garrick

Kyle Garrick is the first main protagonist that we will play in the campaign. He’s a former British army officer who now works as a domestic counter-terrorism in London. Eventually he teams up with Captain Price, going on various missions to make a difference in the world. He is played by actor Elliot Knight

Alex

This is the second character that you will play as during the second half of the campaign. Only his first name was given, since the character works for the CIA. The team made small hints that this obviously isn’t his real name.  For Alex, he signed up to be apart of this war wanting to make a difference in the world. Eventually he’s assigned a new job and is embedded in the Middle East to work with the rebel fighters, whom are lead by Commander Farrah.

Commander Farrah

Described as the ‘inverse’ to Alex, Farrah didn’t sign-up for the war, but instead was put in a situation where it came to her and she decided to take the role and decide what she does. For Alex, she is a real eye-opener due to how different they are from each other. You spend the second half playing alongside her with Alex.

Here’s Our First Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 Multiplayer Screenshots, Juggernaut Suit Coming Back

While Infinity Ward has given us a trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare when it was revealed, it was purely for the single-player campaign. Now, if you’re a Call of Duty fan, chances are, you’re most looking forward to multiplayer than anything else. Well, thanks to E3, we now have our first Modern Warfare 2019 multiplayer screenshots!

During today’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare E3 panel, two Modern Warfare multiplayer screenshots were revealed, and they should make fans happy (well, sort of).

The first image will hark back the ghillie suit found in past Modern Warfare multiplayer entries, which was mostly used by snipers. the second image is the more interesting one as it essentially confirms the Juggernaut suit will be making a return in Modern Warfare’s multiplayer.

Originally seen in Modern Warfare 2’s Spec Ops mode as an enemy, the Juggernaut could absorb a ton of damage and carried a heavy machinegun. The suit appeared again in Black Ops, and in Modern Warfare 3’s Spec Ops mode. Also in MW3, the Juggernaut suit was made available for players as a reward for the Assault Strike Packages, and the Juggernaut Recon as the reward for the Support Strike Packages.

We don’t know for sure whether the Juggernaut suit will be just an Operator skin in Modern Warfare, or will be associated with a scorestreak/killstreak.

Hopefully, it won’t be long now until we get official Modern Warfare 2019 multiplayer gameplay.

Xbox Elite Controller 2 Will Be Compatible With Xbox Project Scarlett Confirmed

Just yesterday, Microsoft unveiled the new Xbox Elite controller 2, which not only now houses a rechargeable battery, but a lot of new features as well. Well, it seems one of its features is that it’ll be compatible with the next-gen Xbox (code-named Project Scarlett) as confirmed by Microsoft themselves!

At Geoff Keighley’s YouTube Live at E3 show, Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb, and Elliot Hsu, Senior Product Designer at Microsoft, sat down to talk about the Xbox Elite Controller 2’s features, and near the end of the chat, Keighley mentions that the new Xbox Elite Controller 2 will “Obviously work with PC, work — with I assume  — Project Scarlett and everything…”

Hsu chimes in and confirms this saying, “Yes, backward compatible, forward compatible.” Keighley then adds, “That’s what I mean. Make the investment now, and it’ll pay off in the future…”

You can watch the video here, and it’s around the 4:50 mark that you can hear the confirmation take place.

While Microsoft has not revealed what the Xbox Project Scarlett controller will look like, the Elite Controller 2 might shed a little light on what we’re about to see unveiled soon. Of course, Microsoft can make the Elite Controller 2 compatible with Project Scarlett and have the next-gen controller look and act significantly different as well. But hey, at least you can buy that $179 controller knowing full well it’ll work with Project Scarlett, right? That should make the price a lot easier to take.

Rainbow Six Siege Update 1.67 Patch Notes Reveal the List of New Content and Changes

As expected, a new Rainbow Six Siege update is out today on all platforms, and we get new content for free once again. The Rainbow Six Siege update 1.67 patch notes are listed below, but the biggest changes here are the additions of new Operators.

Called Operation Phantom Sight, we get two new Operators, a map rework and lots more.

Rainbow Six Siege update 1.67 patch notes and new content:

New Operator – Nokk (ATK)

Nøkk’s gadget is the ultimate form of stealth technology. The HEL is a glove attachment, which, when activated, reduces her ambient noise output and hides her image from the opponents’ observation tools.

Drones, Bulletproof Cameras, Evil Eyes and more will thus be unable to register Nøkk’s presence as she roams through the map, unseen. Her footsteps will be silenced as she stalks opposing operators, unheard.

Roaming will be more risky than ever for Defenders, as Nøkk could be hiding behind every corner or worse, sneaking up right behind them.
Keep in mind that the HEL has a limited window of usage, and must otherwise be recharged through a cooldown.

New Operator – Warden (DEF)

The Glance serves a function that was almost non-existent on the Defending team. With it active, Warden can see through smoke and turn around what could be a low-intel situation.

Activating his Smart Glasses can also prevent Warden from being blinded by flash effects, or cleanse an existing flash blindness, salvaging an otherwise dangerous few seconds.

However, the Glance’s thermal vision only works as long as Warden stays immobile; otherwise, he is affected by smoke the same as everyone else.
The Glance is a triggered effect, which must be restored through a cooldown after use.

Map Rework: KAFE DOSTOYEVSKY

The holiday season may be far away, but we felt it was high time to revisit Kafe Dostoyevsky. From the outside, you can barely notice the difference, save from a few windows which are no longer destructible.

On the inside, however, many areas have been renovated to improve replayability and gameplay opportunities.

Most of the first floor has been redesigned, with the most drastic change around the North entrance. This main entrance now resembles the lobby of a high-end catering establishment, with multiple areas to take advantage of.

The second floor now features a new pair of Bomb sites, in Fireplace Hall and Reading Room. The stairs leading up from the main entrance have also been repositioned.

On the third floor, the easternmost part has changed, rearranging the layout of Cocktail Lounge, and giving it a balcony that overlooks the second floor. The cigar shop has also gained a brand new balcony, opposite that one.

In the southeast corner, the staircase now has a barrier, which limits the angles one can hold or exploit.

While other areas of the map remain essentially the same, all of it has received an aesthetic revamp that gives the map an even more sleek and chic atmosphere.

Reverse Friendly Fire

Reverse Friendly Fire was released with the latest update to Operation Burnt Horizon. For Phantom Sight, however, we aim to refine this feature with updates and improve the effectiveness of how all types of damage to teammates, such as explosions and toxic gas, will be reversed to the player under penalty, with a few exceptions.

GAMEPLAY

BALANCING CHANGES

STEALTH GAUGE

  • Vigil’s ERC-7 cloaking and Caveira’s Silent step now use the same new gauge behavior system that we have introduced with Nøkk.
  • All three abilities can be activated at any time (even while refilling) if above 20% ratio.

We have unified the stealth gauge system to maintain gameplay clarity and consistency.

FROST

  • Reduce Frost’s Welcome Mats to 66 HP (down from 100 HP)

By reducing the health points of Frost traps, we aim at making them easier to destroy. At 100 HP, we felt Frost Mats were sometimes too hard to destroy, and we want cautious players to be rewarded accordingly.

KAID

  • Swapping Kaid’s barbed wire for Nitro Cell.

We are replacing Kaid’s barbed wire for the Nitro Cell after reviewing Kaid’s performance and player feedback. By adding the C4 to his loadout, we hope to make him more versatile and to up his pickrate.

PULSE

  • Decreased to Pulses Cardiac Sensor unequipping time to 0.65s (down from 0.8s)

By increasing the swap speed of Pulse’s gadget, we are trying to make Pulse’s gadget a bit more appealing and comfortable to use during a round. Following community feedback on the change over the course of the TS, we feel 0.65 is a good middle ground.

TWITCH

  • F2 assault rifle recoil increased.

We have increased the recoil of the F2 assault rifle. As an Operator with one of the highest performance and pick rates, having one of the most powerful weapons in her hands made her a bit too powerful. To address this, we’ve increased the recoil of the Famas based on feedback and will continue monitoring for future changes.

SOUND PROPAGATION CHANGES

We have been continuously working to gradually improve sound propagation in game and on our maps. With this Y4S2 update we’ve made global improvements to sound propagation in order to address inconsistent results when interacting with reinforcements.

  • Fixed inconsistent propagation obstruction on partially reinforced walls.
  • Fixed inconsistent propagation on reinforced tall walls with a destroyable upper half where sound would not pass.
  • With this fix we’re aware that an issue still exists where sound will propagate over broken walls even when the wall is reinforced. We will continue working to address it in a future update.

CHANGES TO UBICLUB CHALLENGES

With the start of the new season, Ubisoft Club Challenges will now run on a Thursday > Thursday schedule.

EXPLOITS

We are continuing to work to address the exploits involving Clash, Claymores, and Deployable Shields. The final fix should be deployed during the season. In the meantime, we will be pushing a partial fix and additional fail-safes that will allow us to re-enable Clash, deployable shields, and claymores. The goal of these failsafes is to make sure that the glitches cannot be exploited even in the chance that they are replicated.

  • Clash: Added a failsafe that resets them back to normal if they achieve the glitch.
  • IQ: Added a failsafe that turns her visible if she manages to go invisible.
  • Deployable shields: Added a failsafe that will not allow players to shoot if they glitch, and the shield will be automatically deployed on the ground after 2 seconds.

We are also temporarily changing Warden and Nøkk’s secondary gadget loadouts to minimize potential issues.

  • Warden: Replace 1x Deployable Shield with 2x Impact Grenades
  • Nøkk: Replace 1x Claymore with 3x Stun Grenades

This change will be in place with the start of the season. We will restore their original loadouts during Season 2 once our complete fix is deployed.

PLAYER EXPERIENCE

To provide more readability on defuser assignment, in casual bomb game modes the defuser icon now shows up next to who the defuser is assigned to on the ready screen. If the assigned player leaves during prep phase and the defuser is reassigned, the icon will still be visible on newly assigned player.
