The Division Global Event Assault Starts Now, Schedule, Rewards and Info Right Here

Ubisoft Massive is starting The Division Global Event Assault today, and as the headline plainly states, it modifies assault values, and lots more. Check out the complete info below which also lists down the rewards and lots more.

Here’s the schedule, and the how it all works (via Reddit).

The Division Global Event Assault:

Schedule

Modifier

  • Assault (Global Modifier)
    • Always active; All Agent damage is increased at close range.
  • Crucial Assault (Only active in the Assault Playlist)
    • Assault behavior, plus all enemy damage is increased at longer range
  • Major Assault (Only active in the Assault Playlist and only for groups)
    • Crucial Assault behavior, plus Agent damage increases when close to team members, enemy damage increases when apart from team members.

Tips and Tricks

The Global Modifier makes the missions easier – go close and burn the NPCs down, that works also very well on Legendary difficulty – but be careful, that the NPCs don´t down you with their melee attacks.

The Global Modifier will be active everywhere in The Division (also Survival and in Last Stand) but ONLY against NPCs. This modifier has NO impact in PVP.

=> Weakness notification

Crucial Assault and Major Assault will challenge the way you play the missions and you will have to adapt the routine that you have in the missions. The usual – “i fight from the distance” does not really work, because the NPCs will hit you like a truck and unless you have a decent amount of toughness and armor – they will insta-down you most of the time. So go close, use the proximity damage buff and kill them that way.

Major Assault is a group modifier that gives you a buff when you are close together (you will see a white line between the agents) that helps you against the NPCs and is NOT harder than Crucial Assault. Just keep that in mind and check what Modifier is active.

=> Buff between the Agents

Playlist

You can select the Crucial – and Major Assault Modifier in these missions:

  • Queens Tunnel Camp
  • Russian Consulate
  • General Assembly
  • Grand Central Station
  • Falcon´s Lost

Report: Mortal Kombat 11 Terminator DLC Leaked

As we reported last April, it seems that the Terminator may be appearing in Mortal Kombat 11 as part of its DLC characters roll out. According to a early Google ad posting (it has since been removed) the Mortal Kombat 11 Terminator DLC might be the next guest character to appear in the fighting game.

This wouldn’t be the first time a Google ad spoiled a character reveal as well. Before this last E3, and a few of Nintendo’s Smash Direct, both the Joker and Banjo were leaked via Google searches as shown in this video,  It should be noted that there’s still a handful of character from that video yet to be confirmed. However, the biggest difference is that this ad directly specifies Terminator in its ad though doesn’t actually list anything specific when you click on it. You can see the ad below, which came from the official Mortal Kombat Discord channel.

So far nearly every character have been confirmed from that early leak list so it wouldn’t be a surprise if this turns out to be true, especially since there is a new movie coming out. And both Gears 5 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint will feature a Terminator: Dark Fate crossover so this wouldn’t be something new for the Terminator franchise. Though like all rumors we suggest you take this with a grain of salt.

In other Mortal Kombat 11 DLC news, we posted the teasers for some of the characters set to enter the fighting game’s roster.

Mortal Kombat 11 DLC Characters Get New Teasers, Microsoft Interested in Killer Instinct Skin

With the release of Shang Tsung being a few days away, NetherRealm Studio has begun teasing their other upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters, giving us a small glimpse of Nightwolf, Sindel, and Spawn.

The first character teaser is Spawn. For those who don’t know who this guest character is, Spawn is a fictional anti-hero created by Todd McFarlane that made his debut in comics during the early ’90s. He was a former CIA/Assassin named Albert Francis Simmon whom is eventually is murdered by his friend and sent to hell. It is here that Simmon makes a deal with the devil himself and swears to serve him as his Hellspawn under the assumption that he would get to see his family again. For the most part, the series had been extremely popular that eventually spawns (pun intended) a live action movie and an animated series. While the movie received mix reviews, the animated series was rather well received especially the voice portrayal done by Keith Davidson. His powers range from shape-shifting, teleportation, and super-human strength and healing. The character sports a costume that is black and white with a large red cloak that can transform into an axe, along with some deadly chains that he uses on a basis. The teaser below only gives us a sneak look at Spawn, though judging from it its clear the character will stay very true to the source material.

The next character to get a teaser is Sindel. Sindel is the wife to the evil emperor Shao Kahn and mother of Princess Kitana. She made her debut in Mortal Kombat 3 and has been a fan favorite ever since. The teaser below, again like Spawn is a sneak peak. In it, we can see she will most likely dawn a purple color costume, which is her color of choice. One big thing to notice though is her hair will be somewhat tucked away in a bow, versus past iterations where it was fully down. We can also expect her to be older than past iterations, much like a lot of the veteran characters in Mortal Kombat 11.

And the last character to get a teaser is Nightwolf, this ones a little bit more interesting though. In the teaser below we can see his hair doesn’t appear to be long anymore. His iconic red face paint also differs from past iterations, and the character outline certainly come off as indicating that the character has aged significantly since we last saw him in Mortal Kombat 10.

Whats really surprising though is that Ed Boon asked fans if they possibly wanted a Killer Instinct Skin based on a character named Thunder, whom shares visual similarities with Nightwolf. While the this was a question he asked of the community, that didn’t stop representatives from Microsoft and even the Killer Instinct team to chime in stating that they would want to see a skin based on Thunder.

A bonus skin guest character skin for Nightwolf certainly doesn’t appear to be out of the question, though it’d likely be an Xbox-exclusive skin given that Killer Instinct is a Microsoft-owned franchise.

Destiny 2 Stadia Cross Play With PC Is Not Happening

While Destiny 2 doesn’t support cross-play at all on consoles, some might be assuming that the game’s release on Google Stadia will mean that those players will be able to play those playing on Stadia’s streaming platform. Well, bad news for you, Guardians! Destiny 2 Stadia cross play with PC is not happening.

In the recently published “This Week At Bungie,” Bungie has supplied us with a fresh set of frequently asked questions. A majority of the questions answered were pertaining to the newly announced Destiny 2 free-to-play edition called “New Light” which is set to launch later this year for  across all major platforms (including Google Stadia). One question in particular answered a question that many Destiny 2 players on the PC side were wondering since the Stadia version was announced, and that’s whether or not Stadia players would be in the same player pool as PC players since technically the game could be played right from a PC VIA web browser.

Q: Will Stadia feature cross-play with Steam or other platforms?
A: Stadia is its own ecosystem, just like current existing platforms. Stadia players will only be able to play with other Stadia players.

This answer isn’t at all so surprising, as mentioned Destiny 2 doesn’t currently support cross-play between any of the available platforms it’s on (PS4, Xbox One, PC) and given the fact that Stadia is platform that’s designed to run on more devices than just PC (TV’s, tablets, phones, ect) it does make some sense to not include it as part of the PC ecosystem.

Report: PS5 More Powerful Than Xbox Project Scarlett According to Dev Kit Users

With Microsoft officially confirming that the next-generation of gaming is due next fall at this year’s E3, it was just a matter of time until we hear about the comparison between Xbox Project Scarlett (the code-name for Microsoft’s next-gen console), and Sony’s PS5.

Just a few days ago at E3, Game Informer’s Andrew Reiner mentioned that rumors were swirling around before the show that mention the PS5 is more powerful than Project Scarlett. Well, it seems another report has surfaced claiming the exact same thing.

During the Sacred Symbols podcast (via GameRant), Colin Moriarty, former IGN editor and contributor, said that the PS5 is “definitely more powerful” than Project Scarlett. Moriarty mentions that this info came straight from developers working with dev kits for both platforms, and these same developers claim that they found the PS5 more powerful. Of course, due to the nature of this report, no actual studios or names were given. And of also, these claims are based on dev kits, which could possibly be different specs-wise with the finished hardware once it launches.

More PS5 Reading:

That said, it’s good food for thought, and most likely will be the start of PS5 vs Project Scarlett discussions that are sure to come in the coming years. Mind, it’s not power that dictates which console wins a console generation but the actual games, ease of development, price and a ton of other factors. So don’t assume the PS5 will be better just because of this rumor, alright?

Marvel’s Avengers Will Have Microtransactions Confirmed

At Square Enix’s E3 2019 press briefing where Marvel’s Avengers was revealed, it was also announced on stage that the game won’t feature loot boxes. Well, it seems, even if that’s the case, the Marvel’s Avengers game microtransactions will still be a thing.

Speaking to IGN, Crystal Dynamics Lead Creative Director Shaun Escayg confirmed this and mentioned that there will be custom outfits that players can purchase via microtransactions. In addition to that, Lead Combat Designer Vincent Napoli also mentioned that there will be “other aesthetic ways” to customize your player card and player experience, though he mentioned that there will be nothing that affects gameplay.

More Marvel’s Avengers Reading:

For now, that’s all we know. Crystal Dynamics has already mentioned outfits can be purchased with microtransactions, but that’s the scope of what we know now. Maybe new voice lines, emotes and other stuff are part of the microtransactions packge? Your guess is as good as mine at this point.

Marvel’s Avengers will be out on May 15, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.

Report: Microsoft Wanted to Bring Halo: The Master Chief Collection to PS4

Have you ever wanted to see Master Chief on a PlayStation console? Well, it seems Microsoft was planning on doing just that (or they still are). Apparently, Microsoft was planning on releasing the Halo: The Master Chief Collection to the PS4,

In a recent episode of the Sacred Symbols: A PlayStation Podcast (via ComicBook), former IGN contributor Colin Moriarty shared that he has it in good authority that Microsoft, at one point, was planning on making a Halo MCC PS4 a reality.

“I have it on good authority that Master Chief Collection was being talked about on PS4 years ago. Like, I have that on great authority.”

Moriarty adds that he wouldn’t be surprised to see Xbox games coming to the PS5 as well. This doesn’t mean he believes Microsoft is abandoning the Xbox brand and platform, but rather, Microsoft wanting to have its game playable (and purchasable) everywhere. It’s unknown whether this notion of Microsoft of bringing he MCC to the PS4 is still on the table, dead, or if there’s any shred of truth to it, but it’s nice to think about what could have been, no?

Do you think it would be a wise business move by Microsoft to bring its games to Sony’s platform? While Xbox fans might riot over this, the amount of games Microsoft sells might offset any potential lost customers or bad vibes from its loyal fan base.

Marvel’s Avengers Photo Mode Confirmed Available at Launch

It’s been a busy E3 week for the team working behind Marvel’s Avengers, and to help close off the conference Marvel and Crystal Dynamic have announced some well wanted features for Marvels Avengers.

During the final Q&A session at E3, Marvel Games VP & Creative Director Bill Rosemann and Crystal Dynamics Studio Creative Director Noah Hughes both took to answering questions, one of them once again reiterating that the game can indeed be played all the way through campaign by yourself and offline. We touched upon this yesterday in a post with info from IGN stating that there would be offline play, but here we have the full explanation on how it works.

“One of the things that’s important to us is not only can you assemble with up to 4-players online and play with your friends, you can play the whole whole campaign in a single-player way offline if you want to as well.”

“One of the many things that unite crystal and Marvel is our love for story and story telling. So, there is a huge spine of a single-player cinematic story filled with awesome action and drama, and as Noah said during the way you can branch off and do multiplayer and go on special missions and even those missions connect back to the story.

Some levels are tailored to a particular hero. that gives us the opportunity to tell that hero story, introduce you to aspect of the relationship to the world also allow the players to learn the ability, master the ability and try it out against your rivals and enemies.

Other types of missions you can actually play as any hero you want, so once you’ve unlocked heroes within your roster you can take them on missions and  those missions you can team up with friends who are also choosing what heroes to play.

This certainly is a surprise as it seemed for the most that the online co-op play would be the centerpoint and potentially hint at an always online experience that many of today’s game are created out to be. Thankfully this isn’t the case, and I know for certain that I’ll be enjoying the solo campaign a lot more knowing that I can play offline.

As a final note in the interview, the team went on to state that characters will have many different outfits, and that players would be able to share photos of all these outfits along with their favorite moments in the game via Photo Mode, which has been confirmed to be available at launch.

For those that don’t know what Photo Mode is, essentially it’s a feature in-game that allows you to freeze almost any given moment in a game, giving you full control over the camera, lighting, and other key components you’d expect from using a real life camera. You can watch a demonstration below.

Over the years the tool has certainly evolved, with games like God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man allowing you to manipulate the character’s expressions. I’ve even used it myself in the past to make showcase videos, and no doubt, the community will whip up something special with this feature.

Marvel’s Avengers Character Designs Won’t Be Changing Even After Fan Criticism

Just a few days ago, Square Enix unveiled Marvel’s Avengers for the first time, and unfortunately for the publisher — and for developer Crystal Dynamics — the fans didn’t exactly love what they saw in terms of the Marvel’s Avengers game character design.

Now, while Crystal Dynamics have said that they’re listening to all the player feedback, that doesn’t mean they’ll change the character designs. Speaking to IGN, Crystal Dynamics Lead Creative Director Shaun Escayg mentioned that even with the fan criticism, the studio won’t be changing the character designs, though there will be more polish to them.

We are always listening to, and welcome feedback from our community. There are currently no plans to change our character designs. The trailer is showing pre-alpha gameplay footage, which means the level of detail and overall polish of the character models will absolutely continue to improve as we get closer to launch.

Of course, it’s understandable that most gamers were expecting the characters to look like their MCU counterparts. But even if you take that out of the equation, the character designs we have so far don’t necessarily look good even from a comics perspective. Just my personal opinion, but they look like the budget Avengers or something, and I’m hope further customization will take out that feeling.

Are you happy with the character designs? Are gamers expecting too much of it to be like the MCU? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Cyberpunk 2077 Can Be Completed Without Killing Anyone in the Game

In case you didn’t know, CD Projekt RED decided to bring their highly-anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077 at this year’s E3, and not only that, but a behind closed doors gameplay preview was given as well. If you saw the first bits of gameplay and ever wondered if there’s a chance to play through the game “peacefully,” (to a certain degree), well, we can now confirm that you can.

During GameSpot’s preview, Lead Quest Designer Pawel Sasko that while your interactions with the various inhabitants of the game won’t always matter, but that there are story moments when the player’s actions will have lasting consequences throughout the game.

“This is more of a personal choice of the play style of the player. “However, there are cases when it’s taken into account because it’s important. It’s important that you knock down the dude or you kill the dude, and so on. …But if you, as a player, are going through, let’s say the Grand Imperial Mall [a location in CD Projekt RED’s E3 demo], you are knocking down 40 Animals [the name of one of the game’s gangs] and you decided to, I don’t know, spare a fifth of them, that’s not really going to have that much impact.”

In the same gameplay preview, which was about an hour long, Sasko confirmed that you can play the entire game peacefully and just not kill anyone at all. You’ll be able to sneak, hack and I assume, subdue enemies without resorting to lethal means. However, it wasn’t confirmed if boss fights or unavoidable encounters give the same options as well, though I wouldn’t be surprised if it did.

Would you want to play Cyberpunk 2077 without killing anyone in the game? Or would that make the game boring for you?

Off-Screen Marvel’s Avengers Gameplay Leaks and Shows Us How It Looks in Action

While Square Enix might have revealed Marvel’s Avengers officially during its E3 2019 press briefing, what we got was a trailer that showed us the character design, graphics, and bits of the story. Unfortunately, no actual Marve’s Avengers gameplay was shown publicly, though it was being demoed to various members of the press behind closed doors.

Now, we get to see what the behind closed doors gameplay demo looks like, though off-screen and not at optimal settings. YouTuber AmazingAnimation uploaded a 12-minute Marvel’s Avengers gameplay video, which was taken without Square Enix’s consent (that explains the video quality).

(Update: Re-uploaded in case YouTube takes it down).

What do you make of it so far? I know it’s not the best first gameplay look, but this is what we have.

In other Marvel’s Avengers news, Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that the campaign can only be played solo. And in case you’re wondering, the game isn’t open world.

Marvel’s Avengers is getting released this coming May 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer: “We’re Not Saying No, But We’re Not Saying Yes” Says CD Projekt Red

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 made a rather big presence at E3 this year, revealing not only just a release date, but also that Hollywood actor, Keanu Reeves would also be playing a main character in the game. From what’s been said and shown, CD Projekt Red is no doubt staying true to what they have been known for, which is creating an epic story-focused game based on a single-player experience. However, Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer still isn’t being ruled out though it does seem unlikely given how the game — and CDPR — is mostly focused on delivering a narrative-driven experience.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Cyberpunk 2077’s Lead Quest Designer Paweł Sasko touched briefly upon the subject, to once again re-aafirm that the game is a single-player only experience, despite a multiplayer mode being in R&D last year.

“Yes, 100 per cent. We’re not really working on multiplayer, our sole focus is single-player. We’ll do that, then we’ll see. We’re not saying no but we’re not saying yes. If something does happen it will definitely be post-launch and that’s as much as I can say right now.” Pawel continues “I mean we’re known for good stories, amazing characters, choices and consequences. So this is something for sure we’d be going with, if anything happened regarding that. We’d avoid anything that’s not that. If we do it, it’ll be our style”

There you have it, while it isn’t 100% being ruled out we say don’t expect to see it for a long while if it does end up happening down the road. Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on  April 16 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Marvel’s Avengers Campaign Can Only Be Played Solo, Offline Play Confirmed

With Marvel’s Avengers focusing on team play and the Avengers are, y’know, a team, one would assume that gamers would be able to play the entire Marvel’s Avengers game campaign with either local or online co-op. If you’re one of the many that assumed that, you’re wrong, sadly.

This was confirmed by IGN during a private gameplay demo at E3 2019. While the entire campaign might not be playable with multiplayer, Crystal Dynamics Lead Combat Designer Vincent Napoli and Lead Creative Director Shaun Escayg explained that, as you progress through the campaign, extra side missions will open up, which is when you’ll be able to play multiplayer.

Additionally, we ran a story yesterday on how offline play for Avenger’s was still unconfirmed, and according to IGN, players can tackle the entire campaign and all the single-player missions offline. Well, that’s good news, right?

What’s weird here for me is, wouldn’t it feel weird to have to play the entire campaign solo? I mean, the Avengers are a team after all, right?

Dota Underlords Announced, Open Beta Incoming for Valve’s Dota Chess

In case you didn’t know, there’s a new version of Dota that’s being played a lot currently, and it’s Dota Chess. Well, today, Valve has announced its own Dota Chess version called Dota Underlords.

Over on the official Dota blog, Valve outlined how Dota 2 Battle Pass players can play Dota Underlords right now, and for those wondering, yes, there’s going to be an open beta coming soon, too.

DOTA 2 BATTLE PASS PREVIEW

For the last few weeks, we’ve been running a Friends and Family Beta, and today we’re expanding it to include all Dota 2 Battle Pass owners. With your help, we’ll be stress testing our servers as we prepare for our Open Beta. In the preview version, you’ll be able to:

  • Play online against seven other players.
  • Practice offline against our lineup of advanced bots (from easy to hardcore difficulty).
  • Party up and play together against bots or other players.

Battle Pass owners can find a link to add Dota Underlords to their Steam library on the Dota 2 dashboard. After approximately a week of stress testing we’ll transition to Open Beta.

OPEN BETA

Once the open beta begins, Dota Underlords will be available to everyone for free on Steam (Windows, Mac, and Linux), Android, and iOS. In addition, the team will be enabling the first set of new features, including:

  • Ranked matchmaking.
  • Cross-play across all devices.
  • Rank and progression shared across all devices.

Because the game is in active development, both the Preview and Open Beta have one important thing in common: we’ll need your help to make the game the best it can be as we work towards Season One.

Those not familiar with it, Dota Chess isn’t your typical Dota match, as it relies more on tactics than fast reflexes.

If you’re taking part in Dota Underlords, let us know how it plays, alright?
