Recent Diablo 3 ‘Pet’ Changes Intentional, Won’t Be Nerfed

Following up from yesterday’s Diablo 3 2.0.4 patch, Blizzard announces a few unlisted tweaks that affect pet classes like the Witch Doctor, Demon Hunter, and Wizard.

Player have been noticing a major buff in the critical hit damage pets can sometimes dish out. Prior to today, however, it wasn’t clear if it was an intended tweak, or a bug.

“This is indeed an intended change, and the amount of benefit provided to pets does not have a cap,” Blizzard community manager “Vealistis” said.

“Critical Hit Damage now scales for all pets, from Witch Doctors to Demon Hunters. This actually also includes stationary pets, such as Sentries and Hydras.”

“Apologies for the delay in communication on this one,” Vealistis added. “But we always want to be sure the information we’re providing is full and accurate, and it took me some time to check with all the appropriate folks that this was an actual change and not a bug. We’ll be updating the patch notes to reflect this information as well.

Those who haven’t tried playing as the Witch Doctor or any class that’s capable of summoning pets like the Demon Hunter’s Sentry or the Wizard’s Hydra, you can check out the video below to see how devastating they are now.

[youtube id=”2We0eQq_yTE?t=4m39s”]

In addition to the recent patch, Blizzard has also released a hot fix that buffs the chances of getting a bonus Legendary item from Rifts.

MGS5 Director On Ubisoft’s The Division: “It’s So Good, Makes Me Want To Quit My Job”

When E3 2013 opened it’s doors, Ubisoft wasn’t quite expecting the famed director of the Metal Gear franchise, Hideo Kojima, to be so keenly interested in their upcoming open-world shooter, The Division. Though, that is what they got.

David Polfeldt, Managing Director of Ubisoft Massive Entertainment, recently told Eurogamer about their experience.

“What meant more to us than maybe anything else, is that we had every single competing developer come over to our booth and asking for a show. Two minutes after E3 opened, we had Hideo Kojima come over to the Ubisoft booth and he said I want to see The Division. Then the press guy said politely, ‘okay so do you want to see the other Ubisoft games?’ [Kojima replied] ‘nope I just want to see The Division.’ The very first presentation we did at E3 was made for Hideo Kojima and his interpreter. Then he leans forward to his interpreter and he says ‘you guys are so good, it makes me want to quit my job.’ So that was the first presentation at E3, and you can imagine after having been in what we felt like a coal mine for a long time, you get [Hideo Kojima coming over to see The Division] within 5 minutes of the show opens. We were like ‘dude this has going to work.’ We had DICE over, we had Destiny over, everybody else came over and said guys, ‘this is excellent, what have you been doing? Please show it to us.’ That was a career highlight, absolutely!”

Hideo Kojima is currently working on Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, where he confirmed that Metal Gear Online would be making a return.

It’ll be interesting to see if any aspects from The Division might influence MGO in any way.

Call of Duty: Ghosts – Spawn Updates an “Ongoing, Internal Testing Process”

Players attentive to Call of Duty: Ghosts‘ spawning system in game modes like Team Deathmatch may have noticed a few unannounced tweaks in last Monday’s hot fix update.

The update’s primary purpose was to tweak Ghosts’ killstreak system in an effort to promote objective play, but Infinity Ward senior community manager, Tina Palacios, announced on Twitter today that a few TDM spawning updates were also thrown in.

“Spawn changes are an ongoing, internal testing process,” she said. Followers then asked if any of the updates would be applied to other game modes as well. “We are continuing work at the office and will provide updates as the MP team makes progress,” she replied. You can likely expect more updates from Infinity Ward as they become available.

Notice any improvements? Also, what’s the verdict on last Monday’s update? Are objective games more enjoyable with the new Killstreak tweaks?

The Last of Us Remastered Comparison – Shows Improved AA And Added Details

A trailer for The Last of Us Remastered version coming to PlayStation 4 has been released, and here’s a small taste of what you can expect from this upgraded version.

Please note that the Remastered screenshots are taken from the youtube video, meaning quality and colors have been lost compared to the raw image for PS3 below. Despite that though, there are some differences in what Naughty Dog has done to improve the overall look and potentially the frame-rate.

PS3 Screenshot (Raw 720P/1080P Capture With Elgato and Splitter):

UPDATED: Dues to my brightness settings, I have included another screen with similar lighting to the one above, VIA Neogaf though the quality of the image isn’t as detailed as the original capture.

It’s hard to make out some of the changes, but they are there. For starters, we will point out that comparing our captured footage with the trailer, it looks like that the animations have been improved. This can be seen with the giraffes moving in the background. “Flicking” appears to be toned down significantly. As for the shadows, we can’t really compare because, in this scene, clouds are moving overhead, altering it.

Now, to point out a few things you probably don’t notice. I have circled multiple areas, compared with the raw captured image of the PS3 version, you can clearly see that more textures have been added along with some other cosmetic details such as the building wall on the left getting filled with all posts. The character model and, overall, the whole image is a lot clearer with less ‘jaggies” and shown with the building in the middle. The grass also appears to be improved.

There really isn’t much more to go off of, but we can already see improvements from that short clip alone. We’ll make sure to update the post if any HD pictures come in.

New Titanfall Patch Live, Private Matches, Gooser Update, and Patch Notes Published

Respawn Entertainment has announced that Titanfall players should expect a patch to be rolled out later on today, adding private matches and tweaking a few more items.

The update is now being rolled out on Xbox One. It weighs in at around 88 MB for Xbox One.

Update 2

Respawn has clarified that while the patch will hit PC player by 3pm PST / 6pm EST today, Xbox 360 users can expect a similar update some time tomorrow.

Update 1

Here are the official patch notes, published by Respawn:

New Features added to all Platforms

Private Match (beta)

This is the first public test of our new Private Match mode. This gives you a way to organize matches with and against your friends, for casual or tournament play. Some features are unfinished or not yet implemented, and we welcome your feedback. A few highlights:

  • Private Match supports 2 to 12 players, with 1 to 6 players on each team.
  • You can start a new Private Match lobby by choosing it on the main selection screen (alongside Campaign, MP, and Training). Invite your friends in or have them join you at any time.
  • Choose any of the game’s maps or modes (CTF, Pilot Hunter, etc.) to play in.
  • Choose which team you’re on.
  • There is no XP gain, challenge progress, or achievement unlocking while in a Private Match. For this beta, the Last Game Summary screen will display what you would have earned in normal play outside of Private Match, but be aware that this progress will not be recorded to your lifetime total.
  • For this beta, there is no concept of a “lobby leader”; any player can change game options in the lobby or start/stop the match countdown.
  • All Private Match games are still played on dedicated servers via Xbox Live Cloud Compute, just like normal matches.
  • New options like round time, score limits, and much more will come in future updates.

Party Colors

Your party members and their titans now show up on the mini-map with green colors, instead of the normal blue colors that other friendlies use. Their names are also drawn in green on your HUD, the obituary text, and in the pre-game lobby. This helps you figure out where your friends are and what they’re up to, especially in the heat of combat.

Auto-Titan Color in Obituary

Your auto-titan’s name now shows up in the obituary with the gold color that your own name does. Previously it had the same blue color as any other friendly. This makes it easier to keep tabs on how your titan is doing.

Removed Wall-hack Exploit

PC cheaters were able to modify their local configuration files to enable a sort of wall-hack cheat using legit game code. We’ve closed the exploit that they were using.

Menu Changes

“Play Multiplayer” is now the default (top) option on the private lobby menu, if you’ve completed both the IMC and Militia campaigns. It has also been renamed from “Play Classic”, since the term “classic”, which we used internally, proved to be confusing to some players.

Game Version on Main Menu

The main menu now displays the game’s version in the bottom-left corner. Now you don’t have to wonder if you really do have the latest version of the game, and we can use that to double-check things if support is helping you troubleshoot issues.

New features for Xbox One

Party App Shortcut in Menus

Added a shortcut on all menus that opens the Xbox One’s “Party” app by pressing Left Trigger on the controller, similar to the existing Right Trigger shortcut that invites friends. You can then press ‘B’ to close it when you’re done, or leave it up. (This is much easier than the manual method of going to the Home screen, opening “My games & apps”, selecting Apps, scrolling a few screens over to the “Party” app, and opening it.)

Game Balanace Changes

The Gooser Challenge

Based on recent feedback from fans of the game, the Gen 5 challenge requirement ‘Gooser’, requiring players to kill 50 ejecting pilots, will be reduced to 5 total. We had a couple of design goals for Regeneration. One was to give players a structured way to discover and experience ways of playing the game they might not have otherwise tried on their own. The second was to recognize players’ mastery of various skills, going beyond just ‘time played’. We went a bit too far with this challenge, especially considering the unique conditions that have to be met just to have the opportunity to get a kill on an ejecting Pilot. We understand some players have already completed the challenge, or have already earned more than the new requirement so we will be internally noting those players so we can recognize their accomplishments in a future game update.

40mm magazine capacity for default and Extended Mag

The default magazine size was making the 40mm too powerful. It is intended to be the only weapon that can take a Titan down without reloading, if used skillfully. However, 20 rounds per magazine were proving to be too high and overly tolerant of indiscriminate fire. We’ve reduced it to 12 rounds per magazine, which still allows players to take a Titan down without reloading, but helps balance it out against other Titan weapons. The extended mag has also been dropped from 25 to 16, with the same design principles applying to this change.

Titan Quad Rocket mag size change

During development, there was a time when the Quad Rocket was too powerful. We made a lot of changes to pull it back before shipping (lessened the screen shake impact, lessened the duration of the first person impact FX, lowered the magazine size, pulled the damage back, etc.) It currently can struggle against other Titan weapons and going back to the 5/6 (default/extended mag) magazine sizes helps balance the weapon and allows players to miss a few shots and still be effective. It was 4/5, now its 5/6.

Titan Quad Rocket damage vs Titan shields

It was taking too long to drop a Titans shields with the Quad Rocket (5 shots). This meant you had to reload before you could even drop an enemy Titan’s shields. This was the only Titan weapon that had this issue. We’ve now upped the damage against Titan shields so that it can drop a shield with 4 shots. Combined with the increased mag size, this damage increase effectively gives you one more volley in the mag to deal serious direct hull damage.

Titan Quad Rocket ‘Rapid Fire’ Mod’s mag size change

We upped the magazine size for the Quad Rocket’s Rapid Fire Mod to help it compete with the changes made to the extended magazine (from 5 to 6). The Rapid Fire Mod’s magazine size is going up from 16 to 18.

Amped Kraber Titan damage change

We upped the damage that the Amped Kraber Burn Card does to Titans. It is now the only significantly effective “small arms” weapon against Titans. Note that this only applies to the Amped version of the Kraber. The damage goes up from 100 to 800. We added this to give the Kraber Burn Card a little bit more character, as well as to give you something to shoot if you have a hard time hitting those little Pilots with the Kraber. So snipe away at those Titans…before they kill you!

Hardpoint Domination scoring changes

We wanted to reward and encourage players to go out and capture enemy hardpoints. As important as defending a hardpoint is, capturing them is more important and a tougher task, generally speaking. We did not want to completely remove points for defending, but attacking players were getting too little credit for their efforts. Here is a breakdown of the changes:

  • Capturing a hardpoint from 150 to 250
  • Assisting in capturing a hardpoint from 75 to 100
  • Neutralizing a hardpoint from 50 to 150
  • Assisting in neutralizing a hardpoint from 25 to 75
  • Killing a player inside an enemy hardpoint from outside (nearby) from 75 to 50
  • Killing a player inside an enemy hardpoint from outside (far) from 75 to 50
  • Killing a player inside an enemy hardpoint from inside the hardpoint from 75 to 50
  • Killing an NPC inside an enemy hardpoint from inside the hardpoint from 25 to 10
  • Killing a player outside of a friendly hardpoint whilst inside of a hardpoint from 75 to 50
  • Killing a player inside of a friendly hardpoint whilst inside of a hardpoint from75 to 50
  • Killing an NPC outside of a friendly hardpoint whilst inside of a hardpoint from 25 to 10
  • Killing an NPC inside of a friendly hardpoint whilst inside of a hardpoint from25 to 10
  • Defending a hardpoint now goes from 75 to 25

CTF scoring changes

We wanted to make sure the big payoff in CTF came from capturing the flag. Killing the carrier and then returning the flag was worth 400 points (combined), while capturing the flag was worth 500 points in comparison. These changes are meant to reward players who capture the flag a bit more than those who kill the carrier and return the flag. Defense is still a very important aspect of CTF so we wanted to make sure to keep defending points high enough to still encourage playing defense. Here is a breakdown of the changes:

  • Capturing a flag from 500 to 400
  • Returning the flag from 250 to 100
  • Killing the flag carrier from 150 to 100

Bug Fixes for All Platforms

  • Fixed an issue where a Titan firing ordnance would not show on the minimap correctly.
  • Fixed a rare bug with Pilot health pools that would make them virtually invincible.
  • Fixed rare cases where Titans could be called in through solid geometry.
  • Titan shields now protect friendly rodeo players from explosion damage (such as from an Arc Cannon).
  • Fixed a case where a Pilot could embark a Titan through walls.
  • Spitfire LMG and XO-16 firing sounds will no longer sometimes cut off before the gun is finished firing.
  • The Archer now locks onto the top of a heavy turret rather than the base of the turret.
  • The Archer’s rockets now home in on Titans correctly when those targets are kneeling.
  • Fixed shadows incorrectly shimmering on a particular area of Lagoon.
  • Fixed Satchel Charges and Particle Walls causing pilots to permanently rodeo other pilots.
  • Fixed certain characters not rendering properly in French and other languages.
  • Fixed an issue where “Initializing…” would be displayed if a server wasn’t found.
  • Fixed being unable to scroll to the top of the datacenter list after scrolling down.
  • Greatly reduced the bandwidth used when connecting to a server. People who previously could not progress past the load-screen when connecting to servers should be able to play now.
  • Grunts now show up on the minimap when they shoot.

Bug Fixes for PC

  • Fixed issues with Asian fonts.
  • ‘-nojoy’ command-line parameter now disables gamepad input.
  • All anti-aliasing modes should now properly be displayed in the video settings menu.
  • Fixed graphics corruption and some GPU underutilization for SLI and Crossfire configurations.
  • Fixed a crash in the options menu when toggling between Low and Medium shadows.
  • Mouse buttons can now be used for voice chat in lobbies.
  • Titanfall will no longer override your Windows microphone volume setting when it is launched.
  • Fixed the Smart Pistol reticle so it scales properly based on the Field of View setting.
  • Fixed crashes on machines with 32 or more cores.

Bug Fixes for Xbox One

  • Fixed a rare full-screen blue/red flash.
  • Audio should no longer overlap after going to the Xbox dashboard and back into Titanfall.
  • Fixed a crash when saying “Xbox go back” on certain menus.

Coming Soon in Future Update

A selection of improvements that will be released in an upcoming update:

  • More Custom Loadout Slots with Custom Slots per Game Mode
  • Ability to rename Custom Loadout Slots
  • Last Game Summary shows the scoreboard from the previous match
  • Additional customization options in Private Match
  • Better 120hz monitor support
  • Pick-up prompt for dropped Amped weapons appear in a different color than for normal weapons
  • Enhanced interaction with Challenges. You will be able to review your Challenges by the following criteria:
    • Completed (in your previous match)

    • Almost completed (overall)
  • Scoreboard icons will reflect 3 new states:
    • Player Evacuated
    • Player Dead with Auto-Titan Still Alive
    • Player Alive with Auto-Titan Still Alive

Original Story

“Update coming later today with private matches, gooser update, etc,” posted Respawn on Twitter. Private matches, as Vince Zampella promised, will be added to the title.

In terms of the gooser update, Respawn shared the following recently:

“We are aware that some players have already completed the challenge or earned more than the new requirement. We plan to internally note those players so we can recognize their accomplishments in a future game update.”

When asked about those who have completed all 50 objectives, Respawn explained “it’ll be [noted] you did it the hard way”.

At the time of writing, Respawn hasn’t published the official patch notes. Keep your sights on MP1st as we learn more about the update.

Titanfall – Xbox One and Xbox 360 Video and Picture Comparison

As we learned earlier, Titanfall’s slightly less beefier Xbox 360 version is certainly no pushover standing next to its older Xbox One brother, offering nearly the same experience at an average 46.5 frames per second.

But what exactly do the two shooters – one in development at Respawn Entertainment and the other at Bluepoint Games – look like compared side by side?

There are certainly differences, but they are by no means staggering. Perhaps the gap in frame rate when shown in motion might be what really sets the two apart. See for yourself in the video above and images below, courtesy of VG247.

Which version of Titanfall are you playing?

Do you think the Xbox 360 version lives up to Bluepoint Games’ promise of offering the ‘true Titanfall experience’?

These Titanfall Weapons Remade In Lego Look Like The Real Thing

In these impressive Lego sets by Titanfall fan Nick “Brick”, he recreates some of the game’s most iconic weapons like the R101-C Assault Rifle, Smart Pistol MK5, and Eva-8 Shotgun.

They’re sure to do anyone on Respawn Entertainment’s design and modelling team proud, as they look just like the real deal. They’re all proper dimensions as well, though his latest work, the Eva-8 Shotgun, isn’t quite complete just yet. Still, it sure looks pretty sweet from the first person perspective.

UPDATE: Looks like the Eva-8 Shotgun has been completed. We added the final build to the gallery below:

Listen to all the VO lines that you’ll sometimes hear screamed and yelled by the Russian Army in Battlefield 4‘s multiplayer.

The Battlefield series has always been known for its believable and realistic (and sometimes comedic) voice-over work when it comes to the battle cries of these digital soldiers telling you to watch out for grenades, get in a vehicle, or help out with a med-kit or ammo-pack.

Earlier, we heard 41 hilarious VO lines from Battlefield 3 that never made it into the final build of the game. You can listen to them all here.

H1Z1 First Details – “Survival Taken To The Next Level”, Free-to-Play Confirmed

SOE presidents dish out the details on their upcoming Survival Zombie MMO.

[youtube id=”Wu-bpNaNw88″]

John Smedley detailed that their goal is to build a more consistent “world” than that of other zombie MMO titles like DayZ. He went on to say that this is a world and not just a single server hosting players, so expect the world to be huge – even bigger than what’s been done in Planetside 2. The game is also running off the same engine, with tweaks that Planetside 2 uses. The build shown during the livestream was a build back from January, and the team confirmed that they will be streaming a current build soon with the game being available to everyone in about 4 to 5 weeks time. The game will launch on PC, with the PS4 version “already decided” but no clear launch.

The game will allow players to fully customize their own character looks, with plenty of more customization options not yet detailed.

When asked how this game will be different from games like RUST or DayZ, Smedley once again reiterated that it’s a world and can host thousands of players at once. The frame-rate is stable, and the game allows players to build forts, mod weapons, and even interact with the environment such as torching a field (and other players). Unlike DayZ, in the current build of the game, when you die, you spawn with all your equipment, though this may change in the final build.

Smedley also stated that this game has one of the deepest crafting systems he has seen in any game and says that if players want to get something working, they need to find parts needed for those items. For example, if a player wants to get a car working, they need to find a battery, wheels, ect. in order to make it function properly. He states that this is pretty hardcore, and that Dark Souls players will most likely like this game. Player-vs-Player was heavily emphasize on.

And as stated, the game is free-to-play, though it will have microtransaction. It won’t be a Pay-to-Win scenario like many other F2P titles are.

Smeadley also took to Reddit to give some background details on the game.

“Hi there,

I wanted to tell you about an exciting new free-to-play game we’ve had under wraps here at SOE for some time. It’s called H1Z1. It’s a massively multiplayer game in which players fight for survival in a world where death is the only sure thing. The H1Z1 virus devastated mankind and left nothing but death and destruction in its wake and a world nearly empty of human life where the remnants of humanity are in a fight against extinction against those infected with the virus. It’s been 15 years since H1Z1 was first encountered and what’s left of the world before is overrun with the Infected. Humanity has been reduced to hiding in the shadows, searching desperately for food and water and anything that can help to survive even for another day. But the Infected aren’t the only dangers in the world. Everyday life in the Apocalypse means dealing with all kinds of wild animals and the brutality of other survivors, as well as finding your next meal and a safe place to sleep. It also means scavenging or crafting anything that can help you live just one more day. In H1Z1 every minute of every day is borrowed time and fearing for your life… unless you are the Danger (talking to you Walter), but life can and will go on… even in circumstances as dire as this. Humanity has not given in to the Infected. There are still pockets of humanity and the fight goes on!

Our vision for this game is very simple but ambitious. We are starting with what I would call “Middle America” – an “anywhere and everywhere” town. The world is massive as you’ve come to expect from our games. Over time we will grow the world until we have our own version of the U.S. after the death and destruction brought on during the H1Z1 epidemic. It will be our own version of America. We’ll have urban cities and desolate wide open places. All connected seamlessly. Our focus is building a sandbox style of gameplay where players can build shelters out of resources in the world. They can even work together to make amazing fortresses complete with weaponry to help defend against both the Infected and other players. Players also have access to a very deep crafting system that can let players make a huge variety of awesome stuff, including weapons (I made a 1911 the other day) and things like Molotov cocktails, explosives.. and other fun surprises.

I will also go right to the heart of the question a lot of players will have – “There are a lot of survival / Zombie games… how is this one going to be any different?”. First off, it’s a persistent MMO that can hold thousands of players on servers we host (yes there will be multiple servers with very different rule sets). Why is that a good thing? It means a thriving economy (oh yes… there’s trading). It also means you have potential allies in the all-out war on the Infected… and many an enemy as well. It uses our proprietary next-gen Forgelight engine and that means we’ve had a lot of really cool technology to work with to make the game we wanted to make. It’s also designed from the ground up for our players to become part of the design process. The Roadmap system that we built for PlanetSide 2 will be used extensively to clearly communicate what features we’re working on and what you can expect and when. You’re also going to be getting awesome access to our developers. We’ll be opening it up for Player Studio creations too so expect player-created items to make their way into the game. The main thing that differentiates H1Z1 from the other great games in the genre is the emphasis we are putting on player ownership and building. We want you to be able to form roving gangs that are headquartered out of an abandoned warehouse that you’ve taken over… or a house you’ve built from scratch after having cut trees down and secured the resources to make it. We are giving players the tools to make their own towns, camps and defenses, and they can decide how to set up their base (which is in the world btw… not instanced). We’re building in all the social features you’ve come to expect from an SOE game (grouping, proximity voice chat, voice chat for your gang, and many other cool social features).

To use a simple reference I’m sure everyone interested in this game will get… we want our players to make Woodbury from The Walking Dead if they want to. Or take over a prison. Or fix an old car so you and your friends (yeah we have multiplayer vehicles) can run zombies and players over mercilessly, and revel in the sheer delight of hearing a zombie scream as you light it on fire, or craft a gun to take down your friends and enemies alike. Our goal here is to provide emergent gameplay that will allow our players to make the world their own the way they want to. One of the best things about H1Z1 being an MMO is the fact that with a lot of people playing, we’re able to see all different kinds of gameplay. If you prefer a quiet life as a farmer raising crops… we’re going to make sure your zombie apocalypse fantasy is complete. If you’re like me and you want nothing more than to kill everything that moves, by all means see how that goes. It’s going to be a blast!

Check out H1Z1.com and the subreddit ( http://reddit.com/r/h1z1 ). We’ll be adding more information in the coming weeks to the website. We’ll also be very openly answering questions in the subreddit.

Next week you can see us do a livestream of the game as we have a playtest. Stay tuned!

Play This Titanfall Minecraft Mini-Game Called “Ironfall”

You can now play Titanfall in Minecraft thanks to this nifty mini-game called “Ironfall“.

It’s surprisingly similar, all the way from map layouts to game modes. See it in action in the video above.

Ironfall

“When we saw Titanfall, we knew right away that we would have to try and remake it, to the best of our abilities, in Minecraft. This is Ironfall, the product of that idea.”

qyTCqnE

“For the time being we have only one map, Rise. We are currently working on recreating some of the other Titanfall maps. Games are played with 8 players to a team and a limit of 4 golems per team at a time. Currently every game is Attrition, where you score points for your team for killing enemy Golems and Pilots. First team to 100 points wins.”

5r2sO4A

“Right clicking your nether star will trigger Ironfall. Your golem will then land in the green circle. Right clicking allows you to enter the golem.”

RXRXUDd

“If you call your Golem in while under a glass roof the Golem will smash through into the building below. Just a fun little effect that we wanted to include from the start.”

lDOzqtK

“When inside a Golem your health is displayed in the bar at the top. Your weapon selection changes you lose the ability to double jump. We already have many weapons made in game, but are working on new features. Golem types, wall running, gamemodes and more are coming soon!”

You can play Ironfall on this server.

Thanks, Kotaku.

Killer Instinct – More Season Two Hints Dropped

With the release of the Fulgore update that added the new character and included the much requested Story Mode and Online Lobbies, Microsoft is now dropping more hints for Season Two of Double Helix’s – now Iron Galaxy’s – Killer Instinct Xbox One remake.

But first, here’s a look at Fulgore’s leaked classic costume.

[youtube id=”BQASprxwr9o”]

It appears that one Shadow Jago’s Ultimate Combos will finally make it to the game after developers discussed the possibility of adding it in for Season Two.

Check out this clip of Shadow Jago performing his Ultimate Combos below:

[youtube id=”elDlwexoByQ”]

Microsoft also says that Iron Galaxy is well under way with Season Two and that we can expect a trailer when ever they’re ready to give us a glimpse.

The next bit of news is going to interest fans of Riptor, as she may be included somewhere down the line for Season Two. You can expect her to play much like her original character.

Lastly, developers insisted that patch notes for the recent update will be released “soon”.

Before reading on, spoilers about the recently released story mode for Killer Instinct are ahead. Please read at your own discretion.

Completing the grueling story mode and defeating Shadow Jago, Double Helix has not only revealed the boss for Ultra Tech, the mega company responsible for creating and starting the Killer Instinct tournament, but also hinted that Aria, the head honcho of UltraTech, will be the Season Two’s boss.

Unfortunately, from the footage shown after completing story mode, we don’t get a good glimpse of what Aria really looks like, aside from this silhouette:

tqlRKZi

Not much is known about the Aria, aside from being Ultra Tech’s boss and a really “nasty character”, according to Microsoft developers.

Are you looking forward to season two of Killer Instinct with Iron Galaxy?

Sony’s Sandbox Zombie Survival MMO “H1Z1” Debuts Tonight, First Screenshots Released

Sony Entertainment Online is set to announce their brand-new post-apocalyptic sandbox zombie survival MMO, “H1Z1” later tonight.

Though, here’s a small glimpse of what you can expect to see.

H1Z1 2

H1Z1 1

H1Z1

GameTalkLive, a gaming talk show on TwitchTV, tweeted earlier today that they would be showcasing the game later tonight.

By The looks of the screenshots, it seems that it’s going to be very familiar with DayZ. So far, the title has only been confirmed for the PC. However, recent SOE titles being ported to the PS4 (Planetside 2, DC Universe), it would come to no surprise if the title hits the PS4 in the future and will be  free-to-play, like most others.

The Crew’s Open World is Larger Than GTA V, Far Cry 3, and Skyrim Combined

We already know that Ubisoft and Ivory Tower’s open world driving game The Crew will take you 90 minutes to drive across its 6,213 miles of open road, but exactly how big is the game’s world?

Creative Director Julian Gerighty has the answers.

Showing off the map size to Teamvvv, Gerighty demonstrated how Grand Theft Auto V’s Los Santos, Red Dead Redemption’s Wild West, Forza Horizon’s Colorado, Need for Speed Rival’s Redview County, Far Cry 3’s tropical island and Skyrim all fit within.

“In terms of size, our New York is about the same size of Liberty City in GTA IV,” Julian said. “But on top of that we’ve got Chicago, Detroit, St Louis, Miami, Dallas, Las Vegas, Seattle, San Francisco and all of these cities – I insisted on including Detroit because of the heart of Motor City. But it’s not just these cities: it’s everything in-between. So it’s a very big game.”

That’s a lot of driving.

Yesterday, the studio launched a brand new trailer showing off The Crew’s diverse locales, announcing a Fall 2014 Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC release launch window.

Watch Dogs Utilizes ‘Xbox One to its Full Capabilities’, ‘Running Full HD’ on PlayStation 4

Lars Bonde, Ubisoft cinematics animation lead on Watch Dogs, gives a more console-focused talk on the studio’s upcoming open-world action-espionage title.

In a recent interview with German website PC Games, Bonde told listeners that, despite the ambitious digital recreation of a sprawling Chicago cityscape, “at it’s core, [Watch Dogs is] the same experience on current-gen and on next-gen consoles. You get the same gameplay out of it.”

“Of course, there’s nuances to it,” he added.

Bonde assured, however, that gamers can expect all the juice to be squeezed dry out of next-gen hardware. “We are utilizing Xbox One to its full capabilities and the same with the PS4, of course,” he said. “As far as to my knowledge, on the PS4, we’re running full HD.”

Though it’s not entirely clear where that leaves the Xbox One version in terms of resolution, animation director Colin Graham said earlier that “The two versions are identical in almost every way.” Still, he was unable to comment on resolution.

You can catch the full video interview with Ubisoft developers here.

Watch Dogs drops on May 27 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC.
