League of Legends Patch 3.6 Notes – ARAM, Lissandra and More

Today, the long awaited big Freljord patch for League of Legends has arrived, and not only does it include a champion rebalance and the new champion Lissandra, it also includes a new ARAM map called Howling Abyss that will have its own queue and two champion reworks (Sejuani & Trundle).

Everything is included patch, but it’s unknown when Lissandra, the Ice Witch, will be released (the most probable day for this is Saturday). Another important change worth noting is the new 5-potion limit and the price increase of the Elixir of Fortitude, since these changes will make a huge impact in how players will start their games, as well as a chance to bring new strategies.

Check out the full patch notes below:

Lissandra

Lissandra the Ice Witch is in the 3.6 build and will be released at a later date.

Sejuani

Sejuani has been relaunched with a new model, updates to her story and a revised kit. For more information on the Winter’s Wrath, click here.

  • Frost Armor (Passive)
    • Damaging an enemy with an ability or basic attack grants Sejuani bonus armor and reduces movement-slowing effects on her for a short duration
  • Arctic Assault (Q)
    • Sejuani charges forward, knocking enemies into the air and dealing magic damage to them based on their maximum health. The charge stops after knocking an enemy champion into the air
  • Flail of the Northern Winds (W)
    • Sejuani’s next basic attack deals bonus magic damage to her target and all nearby enemies. She then spins her flail, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies for a few seconds
  • Permafrost (E)
    • Passive: Sejuani’s abilities and basic attacks apply Frost to enemies
    • Active: Sejuani damages and slows all nearby enemies afflicted with Frost
  • Glacial Prison (Ultimate)
    • Sejuani throws a frost-forged bola in a line. If the bola hits an enemy champion, it shatters, stunning the target and all nearby enemies. If the bola reaches its maximum range without striking an enemy champion, it shatters and slows nearby enemies

Trundle

Trundle has been relaunched with a new model, updates to his story, and changes to his kit. For a full rundown of the Troll King’s changes, click here.

  • King’s Tribute (previously Decompose)
    • No gameplay changes
  • Chomp (previously Rabid Bite)
    • Damage adjusted to 20/40/60/80/100 (+1.0/1.05/1.1/1.15/1.2 attack damage) from 30/45/60/75/90 (+0.8/0.9/1/1.1/1.2 attack damage)
    • Now slows target by 75% for 0.1 seconds on hit
    • Animation speed scales with Trundle’s attack speed
  • Frozen Kingdom (previously Contaminate)
    • Attack speed bonus increased to 20/35/50/65/80% from 20/30/40/50/60%
    • Now grants 8/11/14/17/20% increased healing to Trundle
    • No longer grants tenacity
  • Pillar of Ice (previously Pillar of Filth)
    • Now interrupts channels
    • Duration reduced to 6 seconds from 6.5
  • Subjugate (previously Agony)
    • Now deals 20/22/24 (+2 per 100 AP)% max health damage instead of 200/350/500
    • Armor and magic resist drain adjusted to 20% from 15/20/25%
    • Second drain effect now applies over 4 seconds and keeps the stats for another 4 seconds afterwards instead of draining over 6 seconds

Brand

  • Pyroclasm
    • Now properly bounces to other targets after hitting an enemy affected by Blaze

Corki

  • Missile Barrage
    • Fixed a bug where using Missile Barrage restarted the cooldown for gaining another missile

Dr. Mundo

  • Infected Cleaver
    • Can be cast at any health value, but will not reduce health below 1
  • Masochism
    • Can be cast at any health value, but will not reduce health below 1

Draven

In Patch 3.5, we changed Draven’s Spinning Axe to lead Draven more accurately when he was benefiting from movement speed increases. Unfortunately, these changes were very disruptive for dedicated Draven players and didn’t offer enough potential for skilled players to showcase their skill through covering long distances between throwing and catching. We decided to revert the change.

  • Spinning Axe
    • Reverted a recent change affecting how Draven was led by Spinning Axe, restoring prior functionality
    • Axe drop location will no longer be placed on the far side of impassable terrain from Draven

Ezreal

  • Pulsefire Ezreal
    • Fixed a bug where Pulsefire Ezreal would occasionally not see gold popups for some of his last hits on targets in plain view
    • Fixed a bug where Pulsefire Ezreal would play his death animation a second time if Trueshot Barrage was leveled up while dead

Fiddlesticks

  • Drain Life
    • Fixed a bug where Fiddlesticks would not immediately attack his target after successfully channeling Drain Life

Karma

With our previous patch changes, we increased Karma’s overall usability and Mantra generation. These changes are more focused on smoothing out Karma’s early game presence by giving a damage increase to Inner Flame’s lower levels and buffing Inspire to make it far more effective at level one.

Additionally, by lowering the cooldowns of three of Karma’s abilities – including her Mantra – Karma will synergize better with Gathering Fire, allowing her to scale into late game.

  • Inner Flame
    • Damage increased to 80/125/170/215/260 from 60/110/160/210/260
  • Focused Resolve
    • Cooldown reduced to 16/15/14/13/12 seconds from 16/15.5/15/14.5/14
  • Inspire
    • Cooldown reduced to 10 seconds from 12
    • Movement speed bonus increased to 40/45/50/55/60% from 20/30/40/50/60%
  • Mantra
    • Cooldown reduced to 45/42/39/36 seconds from 45

Lulu

  • Mana per level increased to 55 from 50
  • Glitterlance
    • Mana cost increased to 60/65/70/75/80 from 40/50/60/70/80

Malzahar

  • Call of the Void
    • Mana cost reduced to 80/85/90/95/100 from 80/90/100/110/120
  • Null Zone
    • Mana cost reduced to 90/95/100/105/110 from 90/100/110/120/130

Nasus

With a 95% movement speed and attack speed reduction at max levels, Wither was completely shutting down champions reliant on auto-attacks with no opportunity for counterplay. By reducing the attack speed slow, Nasus is still effective at suppressing champions, but his victims will now have the option to turn and fight.

  • Wither
    • Attack speed slow amount has been halved

Nunu

  • Consume
    • No longer expends Visionary if the target dies before Consume resolves

Olaf

  • Reckless Swing
    • Can be cast at any health value, but will not reduce health below 1

Quinn

We wanted to highlight Quinn’s great strengths as an unconventional AD carry with high cross-map mobility. As such, Quinn can now use Tag Team more reliably in and out of fights, and the additional movement speed on Heightened Senses should allow her to remain more elusive in skirmishes.

For the other two changes, we gave Blinding Assault an ability power ratio so that players can gain some additional power when building items like Trinity Force or when receiving the Baron Nashor buff. For Vault, we added a mini stun on Quinn’s target as she dashes toward them, making it more reliable as an escape.

  • Blinding Assault
    • Now has a 0.5 ability power ratio
  • Heightened Senses
    • Passive as Quinn now grants 20/30/40/50/60 movement speed in addition to the attack speed bonus
  • Vault
    • Now briefly interrupts the target
  • Tag Team
    • Maximum movement speed bonus increased to 80/90/100% from 80% at all ranks
    • Base movement speed bonus increased to 20/30/40% from 20% at all ranks
    • Cooldown reduced to 140/110/80 seconds from 140/120/100
    • Skystrike can now be cast 1 second after activating Tag Team, down from 2.5

Rumble

  • Flamespitter
    • No longer prevents Rumble from automatically acquiring basic attack targets

Shen

  • Ki Strike
    • Fixed a bug that caused Ki Strike to be consumed when attacking wards

Sivir

  • Fleet of Foot
    • Now also grants its effect when Boomerang Blade and Ricochet hit enemy champions

Thresh

Death Sentence and its passive were providing too many benefits at early levels with their high poke, burst damage, and lowered cooldowns. By moving the passive damage bonus from Death Sentence to Flay, Thresh players will now need to think strategically about how they level their skills.

  • Death Sentence
    • Damage increased to 80/120/160/200/240 from 80/110/140/170/200
    • Passive moved to Flay
  • Flay
    • Damage reduced to 65/95/125/155/185 from 65/105/145/185/225
    • Now has Death Sentence’s previous passive (bonus damage on basic attacks)
    • Fixed a bug that caused the passive’s damage to be consumed when attacking wards
    • Fixed a bug where Flay sometimes dealt more damage than intended

Udyr

With these changes, we wanted to accomplish a few separate things. First, we wanted to tone down Udyr’s overpowering early game Tiger Stance damage, but we also wanted to let him scale better into late game. These changes were implemented by scaling the attack damage ratios on Tiger Stance’s active damage.

Second, by changing the active damage of Tiger Stance from magical to physical, it should be more intuitive to itemize against Udyr. Additionally, it will also be easier for Udyr to itemize properly, as he will gain further benefits from attack damage focused items like Black Cleaver or Last Whisper.

  • Tiger Stance
    • Active damage changed to physical instead of magic
    • Active damage changed to 30/80/130/180/230 (+1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5/1.6 attack damage) from 30/80/130/180/230 (+1.5 total attack damage)
    • Active attack speed increased to 30/40/50/60/70% from 15/20/25/30/35%
    • No longer grants attack speed as a persistent effect
      • New persistent effect: Basic attacks deal 15% of his total attack damage as bonus physical damage on hit
  • Bear Stance
    • Udyr now only dashes when stunning champions

Vayne

  • Condemn
    • Range now accurately matches her attack range

Vi

  • Vault Breaker
    • Fixed a bug that caused Vault Breaker to become uncastable after activation
  • Excessive Force
    • Can no longer be cast while charging Vault Breaker

Zac

  • Increased transparency when in brush

Zed

Previously, Zed could safely farm large minion waves with Shadow Slash by consistently resetting the cooldown of Living Shadow. These changes were intended to promote aggressive play with Zed while also creating a window for players to engage on him in lane.

  • Living Shadow
    • Cooldown reduced to 18/17/16/15/14 seconds from 22/20.5/19/17.5/16
  • Shadow Slash
    • Hitting minions and monsters no longer reduces Living Shadow’s cooldown
    • Hitting enemy champions reduces Living Shadow’s cooldown by 2 seconds, up from 1

Items

Elixir of Fortitude is meant to be an “all-in” burst of power for players looking to take control of a situation. With its low cost, however, players were simply defaulting to it as a general starting item with no significant repercussion. Increasing the gold cost of Elixir of Fortitude aligns it better with the risky strategy it was intended for.

  • Elixir of Fortitude
    • Cost increased to 350 gold from 250

Alongside our Elixir of Fortitude change, we wanted to tackle ultra-high sustain starts where players were beginning the game with as many health potions as possible in order to safely sustain in lane for long periods of time. However, these high sustain starts also destroy any incentive players have to interact. Manaless champions in particular benefited from these starts, resulting in some mana-based opponents being unable to burn through the high levels of sustained HP. We will monitor starting item builds and champions that relied heavily on high potion starts, but wanted to focus on addressing passive high-sustain builds first.

  • Health Potion
    • Limited to 5 Health Potions at a time
  • Mana Potion
    • Limited to 5 Mana Potions at a time
  • Ionian Boots of Lucidity
    • Upgrade cost reduced to 650 gold from 700 (total cost is now 1000 from 1050)
  • Tiamat
    • Combine cost reduced to 265 from 665 (total cost is now 1900 from 2300)
    • Attack damage reduced to 40 from 50
  • Ravenous Hydra
    • Combine cost increased to 600 from 200 (total cost unchanged)

The Howling Abyss

  • The Howling Abyss has replaced The Proving Grounds in custom games and the basic tutorial
  • A 5v5 All-Random queue has been enabled for matches played on the Howling Abyss
    • Restricted to players of level 5 or above
    • Players may reroll for a different champion in Champion Select for 200 reroll points
      • All players have been credited with 200 reroll points
      • Additional reroll points are gained by completing matchmade Howling Abyss games
      • Reroll point gains increase based on the number of champions the player owns
      • Reroll point count can be checked in the player profile.

Game Interface

  • Smart Ping
    • Updated the ping icons to better match other game visuals
  • Item shop
    • Can now be resized by dragging from the bottom right-hand corner
    • Default size now determined by screen resolution

Leagues

  • Fixed an issue where the end of game screen would incorrectly show “League info processing” instead of updating immediately
  • Champion headers designed for each specific league have been added to the Leagues tab in player profiles
  • LP ‘clamping’ has been smoothed.  Players will experience more predictable LP gains and losses as they approach 100 LP
  • Dodging a match in a promotional series now counts as 1 loss.  This will still end your series if you were one loss away from losing it

General

  • Baron Nashor/Dragon
    • Baron Nashor, Dragon, and Vilemaw kill messages are now bolded in chat
    • Now immune to effects that would reduce their damage
  • Twisted Treeline altar capture messages are now bolded in chat
  • Items with charges now display the charge counter in the inventory rather than displaying as a buff
  • Players will no longer see reconnect messages from the enemy team
  • Trundle has replaced Master Yi in the basic tutorial
  • Spell shields now only block one spell even if multiple spells hit the target in rapid succession
  • Blind Random has been added as a pick type in custom games.  This mode works the same as All Random, but the enemy team’s champions will not be displayed in champion select
  • Players with video cards that use software vertex shaders (primarily integrated cards like those in laptops) should see a 10-40% FPS performance improvement across all maps

Are you excited for the long awaited ARAM queue? Are you going to buy Lissandra when she comes out, or will you wait to try her two weeks after she releases? Post your comments below!

Rumor – Black Ops 2 ‘Game of the Year’ Edition to Release May 21

It seems that Activision and Treyarch are preparing a “Game of the Year” edition of Black Ops 2, according to a recent leak.

A listing for the new edition surfaced on Amazon.ca yesterday, and now has already been removed from the site. Here’s an image of the listing taken by PSLS, with a price tag of $59.99 and May 21 release date.

callofdutyblack2gameoftheyearedition

It’s still unclear whether the GOTY edition will include all DLC releases by packing in a season pass voucher. Game of the Year editions usually include all downloadable content released for the game.

Of course, please take this leak with a grain of salt since Amazon might have posted this in error.

Borderlands 2: Krieg The Psycho To Be Released Soon, says Gearbox President

It looks like those who have been patiently waiting for Borderlands 2’s sixth playable character to be officially released on their platform of choice won’t have to wait much longer. This is according to a recent tweet from Gearbox President, Randy Pitchford, stating that the Kreig the Psycho class is getting ready to roll out soon.

In addition, Adam F., who handles the marketing for Gearbox, has also revealed that once the press gets to preview the new character class, a release will follow very shortly after. Sadly, Krieg The Psycho won’t be released this week, as the EU press has yet to get a good look at the upcoming character, but they will do so sometime this week.

Krieg The Psycho is slated for a May release and won’t be included in the Borderlands 2 season pass, which only covers campaign add-on’s and the recent level cap raise, including the addition of Pearlescent weapons. For more information on Krieg The Psycho, check out these articles that detail his full skill tree, customized heads and class mods.

If Gearbox handles the release of Krieg The Psycho just like the previous Borderlands 2 DLC content, which has been released to the public a few days after the press gets a good look at it, then you can expect Krieg The Psycho to be available on your platform of choice by May 7th at the earliest.

Crytek’s Warface Claims Guiness World Record – Most Online Player Simultaneously

Crytek and their free-to-play FPS Warface now proudly hold the Guiness World Record for “most online players simultaneously present on one online shooter server”

Coordinated by Mail.Ru, a leading internet service provider and online games publisher who also operates the game in Russia, the event saw 145,000 Russian Warface players enjoy the game simultaneously.

newspic_press_GuinnessRecord

Launching in April, 2012, Warface is a near-future, free-to-play, PC-exclusive FPS built on the CryENGINE 3 that focuses on both co-op and competitive online gameplay.

The game, relatively unknown to Western audiences, has already seen some major successes, including being named “Game of the Year” at the Russian Games Developer Conference and registering over 9 million users in Russia in it’s first year since launch alone.

Warface entered closed beta in North America last January but has yet to receive a definitive release date in the West. You can catch some high-action gameplay below:

Rumor – Respawn’s First Title Exclusive to Xbox with Multiplayer Focus

Former Infinity Ward head Vince Zampella and ex-employees who now make up Respawn Entertainment have been working on a new title to be published by EA for quite some time.

No details of the project have been shared with the public, except for a few distorted images. However, according to a new rumor by Kotaku, the title will be exclusive to the Xbox brand and multiplayer will be the game’s only component.

“The source describes the game as a battle of Davids and Goliaths. The Davids are heavily-armed foot soldiers. The Goliaths are the giant exosekeltons—Titans—that these soldiers can pilot. These Titans are big mech-style walkers that move with an agility not seen in games like Mechwarrior or Steel Battalions.

“To keep the action balanced, game maps limit the number of Titans that can be used in a skirmish. Weapon loadouts for the foot soldiers are designed to ensure that the characters on foot can take out the Titans if need be.” Kotaku’s Stephen Totilo reports.

Recently, we reported that the title is rumored to be called Titan, and in light of the new rumor, Titan would be a fitting a name. In terms of platforms, it’s unclear if the title will be exclusive to Microsoft, which would mean only for Xbox 360 and/or the next Xbox, or if it will be a timed exclusive with PS4, PS3, and PC releases to follow.

Stay tuned to MP1st, as we learn more about one of the most anticipated titles in the industry until its’ unveiling at E3.

Lastly, let us know in the comments what you guys think about gameplay revolving around “mech-style walkers” in Respawn’s upcoming game? Interested?

Thanks, VG247

Call of Duty Mosaic Appears on Official Site, Teaser Image Says “The Ghosts Are Real”

The official Call of Duty website has been updated to display an ever-growing mosaic of Twitter and Facebook users, slowly revealing an image that is presumably tied to the upcoming Call of Duty announcement.

An unveiling of Activision’s next Call of Duty title, rumored to be titled “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” is right around the corner and hype is building. The game will allegedly run on a “new next-generation Call of Duty engine” and will deliver “a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast,” according to recent retailer listings.

You can check out the recently updated webpage for your self right here, and even add yourself to the mosaic, becoming ‘a part of Call of Duty history.’

More interestingly, additional imagery has been spotted by Twitter user @middleton979 (Via, @charlieINTEL) in the website’s source code, revealing the following image, also seen as the background on number of popular YouTube personality’s YouTube pages like TmarTn, AliA and Drift0r.

Screen Shot 2013-04-29 at 11.44.10 AM

So, how about it? Are you hopping aboard the hype train? Yes, it may be another yearly entry in the Call of Duty series, but it looks as though Activision is trying to bring something fresh to the table with a new series built on a new setting and even a new engine.

Update

The mosaic is slowly coming together. So far, it seems to resemble some sort of skull or ghost mask.

“Call of Duty: Ghosts” Leak Suggest Game Will Run on “New Next-Generation Call of Duty Engine” [Updated]

It will also feature an entirely new story, setting and cast, according to a second leak from UK video game retailer, Tesco.

Just last week, Tesco, along with Target, listed “Call of Duty: Ghosts” on their official websites, revealing that the game, presumably in development at Infinity Ward studios, will allegedly release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 5.

Today, Tesco outed a brief description of the game, later removed, claiming that it will run on a “new next-generation Call of Duty engine,” and wil deliver “a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast.”

You can read the full description below.

The franchise that has defined a generation of gaming is set to raise the bar once again with the all-new Call of Duty®: Ghosts. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty and the seminal Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® series, Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine.

If you were hoping for a continuation of the Modern Warfare series, you may be out of luck. However, an entirely new setting, story and cast is certainly more than welcome. Any thoughts or speculation? Might it revolve around some of the rumores we heard back in March?

Let us know in the comments and don’t forget to keep your eyes glued open on or around May 1, which we learned might be the date that “Call of Duty: Ghosts” gets an official unveieling.

Update

Spanish retailer XtraLife has also recently listed “Call of Duty: Ghosts” for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U.

Check out the alleged box art for each platform below.

Thanks, CI.

DUST 514 Officially Launches May 14th, New EVE Online Video

After being in it’s beta stage for a little over a year now, CCP games announced today during their EVE convention that the free-to-play PlayStation 3-exclusive title, DUST 514, would be launching this May 14 via the PlayStation Network.

Beta testers who have been through DUST 514 since the start have seen many major changes occur, including the latest one that linked both DUST 514 and EVE Online together as a cross-platform title. Though, that won’t be the only major update for this year as CCP have more features and content in store.

Even though DUST 514 is concluding its Beta phase with the phenomenal Uprising update – which includes tons of new stuff, from the major graphics update, to huge new features like player controlled Planetary Conquest – this is just the beginning. We have more major updates throughout 2013 and for years to come, just like we have done with EVE Online for the past 10 years. We are honored to have you on this journey with us.

For those who don’t know what EVE Online is, CCP Games also released a new trailer called “origin”, which details the background of EVE Online.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist Multiplayer “First Look” Incoming Next Week

Ubisoft has outed a brand new Splinter Cell Blacklist trailer, but in place of yet another display of stealthy heroics by main protagonist Sam Fisher, we’re teased by the hint of an incoming reveal of the title’s multiplayer component.

The teaser reveals an image of two agents facing off, both with the signature red and green goggles, as the screen fades to an image displaying the words “First Look” and the date “05.02.13.”

Screen Shot 2013-04-26 at 2.19.15 PM

According to Ubisoft’s official Twitter account, it appears the reveal will be of an updated take on the Spies vs. Mercenaries game mode.

Be it co-operative or competitive, multiplayer has always been a part of the Splinter Cell series since the second entry, Pandora Tomorrow, where the game mode Spies vs. Mercs first appeared. 2010’s Splinter Cell: Conviction featured a rather robust and highly-praised co-op experience, but we’ve yet to see an adversarial multiplayer experience from the series as fleshed out as what you would find in, say, Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier.

Needless to say, this has us at MP1st excited to see what the multiplayer team behind Splinter Cell: Blacklist has to show us this May 02.

Any thoughts or predictions as to what we’ll see? Let us know in the comments below. Oh, and don’t forget to check out the actual teaser:

Next Xbox Rumors – Always-Online DRM Up To Publishers, DVR-Like Capabilities, and More

Rumors suggest the next Xbox, which we recently learned would be unveiled this May 21, will indeed support online-always DRM, but not specifically for video games. It is said to also include DVR-like capabilities, new ways to interact with friends, and new ways to earn achievements.

According to unnamed sources speaking with Polygon, the decision of requiring an internet connection to play video games on the next Xbox will be left up to the publisher. They will also choose whether or not a one-time authentication will be required to play their games. As for the console itself, sources say it will still require an always-online connection to support certain non-gaming applications as well as to support anti-piracy measures.

Allegedly, the next Xbox will act as if it were a DVR, giving users the ability to select highlights from a previously recorded catalogue of footage to share via social media. According to sources, it can be turned on or off, or can be set up to automatically record certain in-game events like earning achievements or getting a head shot in an FPS. This auto-capture feature will only be available on next-gen games and the footage captured can be shared on websites like YouTube.

This seems likely and could almost be expected considering the importance placed on the ability to share video footage online amongst fellow gamers. Look at the direction games like Call of Duty and Halo have been headed in with their built-in theater modes, for example. The new “share” button was also major highlight of Sony’s PlayStation 4 reveal back in February.

The next Xbox is also said to allow greater flexibility when it comes to Achievements. Developers will be given the ability to add Achievements to a title post-launch without having to be included within downloadable content. This means, through data collection and player feedback, developers can tailer player behavior by enticing gamers to visit undiscovered areas in-game or use neglected items/weapons, for example.

It may also be an attempt to entice players to play multiple games or use different devices, as some achievements may become cross-title or cross-platform. One Achievement, for example, may have you play Halo 4 on the Xbox 360, update your profile on a companion website or app, and then play Halo 5 on the next Xbox. Achievements could even extend to large, in-game events like, say, a Double XP weekend.

Lastly, it appears Microsoft will change the way you interact with friends. Instead of allowing only a certain number of friends on your friends list, you’ll be able to “follow” friends much like you do on Twitter. This would essentially remove the 100 friend capacity that currently exists on the Xbox 360 and allow users to decide who they interact with.

In a response to Polygon with regards to these features, a Microsoft spokesperson stated, “we’re excited to share more about the new generation of games, TV and entertainment on May 21, but have nothing further to share at this time.”

What do you guys think about these rumored features so far? Are you happy to hear always-online DRM may be left up to the publisher, instead of being a requirement 100% of the time to play games? Where do you sit on the idea of cross-title or cross-platform Achievements? Let’s hear it in the comments below!

Remember to stay tuned on May 21 when Microsoft will officially unveil the next Xbox.

Next Call of Duty Reveal Incoming May 1

News of Activision’s next Call of Duty title is beginning to trickle out as leaked promotional material appears on the internet.

Just recently, we caught a glimpse of “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” the alleged Call of Duty title currently in development at Infinity Ward studios. Promotional posters listing the game were spotted on the websites of various video game retailers, including Target and Tesco.

Today, IGN received an image of a display blueprint indicating that physical posters should arrive at retailers by May 1, at which point these posters will go up, officially unveiling the next Call of Duty title, whatever it may be called.

Interestingly, the May 1 reveal also corresponds with the first leaked details of “Call of Duty: Ghosts” we received back in March.

Rumors Suggest Next Xbox Will Ship At $499 and $299 + Subscription Price Points

According to reports by Microsoft blogger Paul Thurrott, the next Xbox, which we recently learned would be unveiled this May 21, will ship at two different price points: $499, or $299 for those who also purchase a two-year subscription to Xbox Live’s Gold Service ($10 per month).

Earlier this month, Thurrott broke the news regarding the date of the next Xbox’s unveiling in an interview with the “What the Tech” video blog. He also was the one to report that the next Xbox would require an internet connection in order to function properly.

Thurrott also reports that the next Xbox “is based” on the “Core” version of the Windows 8 operating system, making it easier to run apps across multiple devices like PCs and tablets that run the same system. He also suggests that Microsoft will most likely discuss their next-generation console during their developer conference in San Francisco this June.

Lastly, Thurrott mentions that an entertainment-only version of the next Xbox (AKA “Yuma”) will most likely not happen. He writes that “plans for Yuma are on hold, and no pure entertainment version of the next Xbox will appear in 2013 (or possibly ever).”

If the price points hold true, is that about amount you would be willing to spend on a next-generation console? Let us know in the comments below!

Modern Warfare 3 Gets Another Title Update – Improvements to Matchmaking [Updated]

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Remember that game? It’s getting an update today on the PlayStation 3 [update: and Xbox 360].

According to developers Infinity Ward, who are probably now hard at work on the upcoming, rumored “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” the PlayStation 3 version of 2011’s Modern Warfare 3 is receiving another title update today – title update 24, to be exact.

The patch notes simply read:

Adjustments to matchmaking

So there you have it. If you’re still playing Modern Warfare 3 on the PlayStation 3, expect a few matchmaking improvements! Though there’s currently nothing expected for the Xbox 360 or PC versions of the game, it’s nice to see developers keeping an eye on older titles.

Update

Infinity Ward senior community manager writes on Twitter that the update is also coming to the Xbox 360 soon.

That brings us to ask, are you still playing Modern Warfare 3?
