Because FreddieW’s Battlefield 4 Co-Op video is now outdated, YouTube Channel, There Is aCanal, decided to one up Freddie with an augmented reality induced Battlefield 5 video on Google Glasses.

In case you’re not familiar with Google Glasses, or Project Glass. Here’s the concept video:

Medal of Honor: Warfighter “On Par With Battlefield 3,” Devs “Spending a Lot of Time on Console”

Hot on the heels of the explosive Medal of Honor: Warfighter gameplay trailer, Danger Close Executive Producer Greg Goodrich speaks  about their upcoming shooter, revealing what players can expect from the highly anticipated multiplayer.

It’s quite clear that Danger Close really wants to push the idea of player identity in multiplayer this time around. Googrich reiterates to GT.TV, “we want to take a page out of the FIFA playbook. We wanted to give gamers a sense of national pride. Play for the home team. Wave that flag, you know. Get on the gun, get on the Battlefield and determine who’s the best.”

Going into how Warfighter’s multiplayer will feel different than 2010’s Medal of Honor, Goodrich explains, “clearly, the sense of scale. The sense of, I think, personality, character. You know, we put a lot into that game in the sense of introducing our audience to the operator – the Tier 1 operator – and who these guys are and the type of mission sets they’re going on. We’re going to go deeper in that direction and show how these forces work alongside each other. Certainly, the multinational angle, you know. We’ve talked about these 12 Tier 1 units from 10 different nations that are in multiplayer…”

Read here to find out which Tier 1 operator units you’ll be able to play as in Warfighter’s multiplayer.

When asked about the technology behind Warfighter, Goodrich reveals, “we’re showing it on PC. Everyone knows Frostbite 2. It absolutely sings on PC, but Medal of Honor has always been, historically, a console-focused product. We’re spending a lot of time on console. So expect, absolutely, as on par with Battlefield 3 and we’re going to try to push this as much as we can. But, what you’re seeing right now [in the gameplay trailer] is 60 frames per second running on PC.”

Goodrich wasn’t able to confirm if Medal of Honor: Warfighter would be running at 60 FPS on consoles as well. Historically, the Frostbite engine has often, if not always, ran at 30 FPS on consoles.

Do you think Danger Close has what it takes to push the Frostbite 2 engine above and beyond Battlefield 3? Leave your thought in the comments below!

Extremely Racist Video Sneaks Into CoD: Elite TV Theater Staff Picks

Viewers of Call of Duty: Elite TV were struck with a rather unfortunate surprise today on the Staff Picks section of Elite TV Theater.

A rather disturbing video titled “Final War – Aryan Pride” featuring images of Hitler, the KKK and other symbols of hate has somehow made it into the Staff Picks section of Elite TV Theater, a place where cool community Call of Duty clips are promoted. How it made it there? We’re not entirely certain. Beachhead studios has been contacted by a number of concerned viewers but has yet to respond.

This may or may not have been the first time a video of this magnitude has made it onto Elite TV as there already is an option to report videos for racist content, but hopefully Beachhead studios will act quickly to remove it.

Stay tuned to MP1st for updates!

Resistance: Burning Skies Multiplayer Trailer and Details

The debut multiplayer trailer and more details have been released for the upcoming PS Vita exclusive title, Resistance: Burning Skies developed by Nihilistic Software.

[youtube id=”U-plUxwQcls” width=”600″ height=”350″]

More details as written on the PlayStation Blog:

  • 8 player multiplayer – Small games feature intense 2 vs. 2 combat and large games going all the way up to 4 on 4 action. Choose between Quick Match: a fast and easy way to get up and playing immediately by jumping in an automatic matchmaking session or Party with Friends: use the Vita’s cross-game Party application and Party up with friends to join private matches and take advantage of Party with voice chat.
  • Rank Up! – Killing enemies and winning matches is the easiest way to earn XP and Rank Up. Be rewarded with bonus XP for your daring feats of skill. For example, you may find yourself well rewarded for killing multiple enemies with a skilled grenade toss. Unlock all your favorite weapons and upgrades from the story campaign as you Rank Up.
  • Modify & customize your weapons – Upgrades you purchase can be slotted and unslotted from weapons at will, with some even giving your weapons a distinctive visual look. Purchase upgrades for weapons that best suit your personal playstyle. For example, the fan favorite Bullseye can be upgraded with Explosive Tag – which gives your Bullseye Tags and extra explosive kick. But keep in mind if you’re killed, your enemies may pick up your upgraded weapons and use them against you!
  • Connect Everywhere – You can connect with the PlayStation community no matter where you are via Wi-Fi and 3G through social features including leaderboards and NEAR, PlayStation Vita’s location-based service. Through NEAR, Resistance: Burning Skies introduces a new social perk awarding players valuable XP multipliers to carry into multiplayer battle. Stay tuned as we get closer to launch for all the details on NEAR.
  • The game will feature only three game modes, which are Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, while the other mode will be revealed later this week. The game will also feature 6 maps in which players will be able to vote for during each match.

Resistance: Burning Skies releases exclusively for the PS Vita on May 29th. (both retailers and as a PSN digital release)

[Updated] Crysis 3 Listings Leaked on Origin, Official Announcement to be Made April 16th

Update: Crytek recently stated on their official Twitter account, “The best kept secret in shooters just can’t be contained. Stay tuned for more information on April 16.”

Original Story: Rumors have been stirring this past month that a third (numbered) entry into the Crysis series is in the works under German-based developers Crytek. Thanks to some recently leaked listings on EA’s Origin, Crysis 3 is all but confirmed.

These listings below were screen captured off of Origin shortly before being taken down.

Image provided by NeoGAF

Some additional images, including what appears to be the Crysis 3 boxart, have also recently surfaced:

Earlier last month, Crytek teased an announcement of a multiplatform, AAA title to be made in April. Cytek’s Nick Button-Brown told CVG, “the other project [believed to be Crysis 3] looks absolutely fantastic – I mean, genuinely the best of that kind of project we’ve ever done.” He added, “It looks spectacular, the team are doing really, really well and it’s just really nice to see the team really enthusiastic about what they’re doing. They’re really happy.”

The front cover of a recent issue of Game Reactor also teased the setting of Crysis 3. You can notice Crytek’s trademark nanosuit pattern in the top left corner of the cover below.

This Russian website claims that Crysis 3 will be announced on April 15th. It also claims that the setting will take place in a completely destroyed New York city which has become “almost a jungle.” This would make sense – combining the setting of both Crysis 1 and 2. From the pictures above, the protagonist also seems to be carrying a futuristic bow-type weapon. It will be interesting to see its uses in-game. It also claims that Crytek has promised “the best sandbox FPS in the market.”

Additionally, the background of the Origin listing covers provided above also possibly suggest a European setting.

If these leaks are to be believed, are you excited to be on the eve of an official Crysis 3 announcement? In what setting do you believe the game will take place in? Or rather, what setting would you lik it to take place in? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Be sure to follow MP1st on Twitter and Facebook for more on Crysis 3.

Mass Effect 3: Resurgence Free Multiplayer DLC Now Live, Do Not Purchase for 320 MS Points on XBL

Today, Mass Effect 3 multiplayer goers were treated to a nice little addition in the form of 2 new maps, 6 new characters and 3 new weapons, all for the reasonable price of free.

By now, Mass Effect 3: Resurgence should be live across all three platforms and available to download on the XBL Marketplace, PSN or Origin. If you haven’t yet, check out the trailer and read up on all the details here!

However, Xbox 360 users beware! BioWare has recently issued this warning via Twitter: “Please DO NOT purchase the 320 pt. ‘Resurgence Pack’ consumable on XBL dash. This was erroneously uploaded & we are working to take it down!”

Currently, there are two packages on the XBL Marketplace; the free, “real” one that reads “Mass Effect 3: Resurgence Multiplayer Expansion” which also includes the Controller symbol with the “+” sign, and the other “fake” one that simply reads “Resurgence Pack” for 320 Microsoft Points. Simply put, do not pay 320 MS points for this DLC. Refer to the image below:

The free one is better

Of course, you should not have any problems what-so-ever if you are purchasing from the in-game “Downloadable Content” menu.

If you have accidentally purchased the Resurgence Pack for 320 MS Points, BioWare advises that “people who did so should contact a game adviser at help.ea.com.”

For those who’ve had a chance to try out this new multiplayer DLC, what do you think? Leave your impressions in the comments below!
