Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – Heat Map for de_train Released, Latest Update Notes

Developers of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive have recently released a set of heat maps for the map de_train.

For those who don’t know, a heat map is basically a diagram that shows developers (and players) exactly where the “hot spots” of a particular map are. It does this by simply painting a dot where ever a player has fired a bullet in-game. A higher density of dots means that that spot tends to see a higher number of gun fights.

Check out the image below showing the hot spots for the map de_train.

This diagram accounts for 6.5 million bullets fired, according to the official Counter-Strike Blog. You can check it out for yourself and even filter the image to show stats for assault rifles, sniper rifles, terrorists and counter-terrorists.

Last Friday also saw an update to the Global Offensive beta. We’ve included the full list of update notes below. Some note worthy changes are the addition of “screen shake,” which should give players better visual feedback when firing a weapon, as well as a server browser added to the Play menu.

Check out the latest update notes below and let us know in the comments what you think about the latest heat map!

Maps:

  • Added Demolition maps:
  • Sugarcane
  • Safehouse
  • Bank
  • Short Train
  • Quickmatch now connects to Demolition map cycle group.
  • Find A Game allows you to join an online game of a specific type. This update offers Arsenal Demolition, Arms Race, and Classic Competitive game modes. The map cycle groups include:
    – All Classic Maps
    – Arms Race Maps
    – Demolition Maps
  • De_nuke
    – Fixed bot nav behavior outside locker room and near bombsite A.
  • Cs_office
    – Fixed hostage bots getting stuck behind the couch.
    – Fixed bots getting stuck on the roof of the dumpster.
  • Cs_italy
    – Fixed vines penetrating door frame at T Start.
    – Fixed building floating in skybox at Balcony.
    – Fixed missing geometry in arches and wall in Market.
    – Fixed curved pipe and square wall edge creating black area at Left Alley.
    – Fixed a gap in the floor at Left Alley.
    – Fixed texture mismatch at Market.
    – Fixed unnecessary collision on curb at CT Spawn Zone.
    – Fixed being able to see out of the playable map at Market.
    – Fixed not being able to jump while standing on potted plant at CT Start.
    – Fixed small gap in street at Left Alley.
    – Fixed brightly lit area at window near hostage room and T Start.

Gameplay:

  • Added additional camera punch effect to weapon firing to give more visual feedback.
  • Added convar to support buying two flashbangs (ammo_grenade_limit_flashbang). This is disabled by default.
  • SMGs get a range increase.
  • Falloff distances for SMGs have been improved to reduce micro hits at medium distances.
  • UMP 45 gets a small armor ratio buff and a very minor cycle time buff.
  • P90 gets a armor ratio debuff to bring it more in line with its smg brethren rather than make it as good if not better than entry level rifles.
  • Added first shot recoil suppression to allow for closer grouping of the first few shots in a burst or full auto fire.
  • TBots that try to plant in an invalid space will quickly give up and pick a new place to try to plant now.
  • Arms Race now ends with a gold knife to convey to the user the difference between killing someone with a knife to steal their level and killing someone with a knife to win the game.
  • A knife kill in Arms Race now only sets you back a weapon level if you were killed by an enemy.
  • The C4 now has a short (0.5 second) grace period for defusing, during which time the player can interrupt and resume defusing. This restores the old 0.5 second latency that existing in CS for defusing, but also maintains the newer preferred ability to stop defusing without the player being inexplicably stuck for up to 0.5 seconds. This also greatly reduces the chance that small lag/packet loss events will result in the defuse being interrupted.
  • Reduced the size of the hostage hitboxes.
  • Changed the ducking speed to match the unducking speed. Both are now 200 ms.
  • Slightly reduced HE grenade damage per pro feedback.
  • Reduced per shot weapon inaccuracy across all weapons.

UI:

  • Added server browser to Play menu.
  • Arms Race UI improvements – Added more elements to the next weapon panels that fill out and animate into place when you are awarded your next weapon – this convey the weapon progression better.
  • Fixed an issue where observers didn’t see updated ammo counts for the player they were observing.
  • Fixed the issue in which the ammo animated when changing the observed target and the new target had different clip/ammo counts.
  • Added Elo rank to the stats screen.
  • Updated Elo rank icons.
  • Video settings – Changed vsync option so it does not get immediately applied when the option is changed by the user in the UI. Instead, the user must hit the Apply button for the vsync setting to be changed, like most of the other settings.
  • Video settings – the “Reset to Defaults” disables vsync now.
  • Added missing motion blur option to the Advanced Video Settings menu. The Advanced Video options have been reorganized: global shadow quality is now at the top, and the two anti-aliasing settings have been moved together.
  • The team select screen now has a short objectives blurb so as a new player you know what the map objectives are.
  • Updated color of bomb holder, bomb planted and defuse kit icons to match gold, red and blue used elsewhere in the hud.
  • Updated defuse kit image for buy menu.

  • Added a T knife icon.

  • Updated radar minimaps:
    – Office
    – Aztec
    – Lake
    – Dust
    – Dust 2
    – St Marc
    – Nuke

Audio:

  • Fixed bug that was stopping hostage music abruptly.
  • Moved kill music stingers from client to server, are more audible, and have been added to demolition mode.
  • Dominating music stinger now plays for “still dominating” as well.
  • Added ‘hostages near to rescue’ music cues.
  • Fixed weapon foley being heard at unrealistic distances (player distance misrepresented)
  • Updated weapon shots:
    – ak47
    – deagle

MW3 Xbox 360 Elite DLC Download Problem to Be Fixed April 18th, Compensation to Follow

Some Modern Warfare 3 owners, with new premium Elite subscriptions, on Xbox 360 have been having problems downloading the latest two Elite drops, Sanctuary and Foundation, since they released on April 10th. Fortunately, this is coming to an end tomorrow.

This month’s Elite drops were accompanied by title update 13 for Xbox 360 adding support for the DLC among other changes. The patch caused issues for new Elite premium members according to Beachhead studios. Beachhead explained last week, “this is a known issue for new Call of duty Elite users. It’s due to a recent Infinity Ward MW3 TU [title update #13], and they’re working on a fix now.” You can read the full patch notes for TU 13 here.

Yesterday, Infinity Ward received word from Microsoft that “the Elite fix will go live Wednesday [April 18th] at 2am PDT [5am EDT] on Xbox LIVE.” Further, Beachhead promised affected players compensation after the fix. The developers stated on Twitter, “we’re working to resolve the DLC download issue affecting some new premium members. Compensation will be provided following a fix.

It’s still unknown how Beachhead is planning on compensating new premium members for the mishap. We expect an extension in Elite duration for those affected. We’ll update this story as soon as we get an official word, and we’ll be sure to let you know on Twitter and Facebook.

Sniper Elite V2 – Competitive Multiplayer Only On PC and Other Details

The first details of the multiplayer component of Sniper Elite V2 have finally been revealed by Rebellion games. Sniper Elite V2 will feature both competitive and co-operative modes on PC. However, Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will only get the co-op modes.

Last month, the following  2 player online co-op modes have been confirmed via forum post, that all platforms should receive:

  • Kill Tally – As waves of enemies storm in players must race against the clock to eliminate as many as possible in order to achieve the highest possible kill count.
  • Bombing Run – Gamers must escape a scheduled bombing run but the only getaway vehicle is broken. Before the bombs fall, the area must be searched for parts and fuel while remaining unseen.
  • Overwatch – Players combine separate skillsets as a sniper and an operative and work in tandem to take out enemies.
  • Campaign – Fans play through the single-player campaign with a friend

As for competitive multiplayer, the team has recently confirmed that Sniper Elite V2 on PC will have Team Deathmatch with up to 12 players. The developers stated, “we are very proud to finally confirm that the Team Death Match multiplayer, with dedicated server, will be available for the PC version of Sniper Elite V2 at launch. Currently, the intention is to support up to 12 players in competitive multiplayer.”

Unfortunately, PS3 and Xbox 360 players will only have access to the online co-op modes listed above. Rebellion confirmed on Twitter that “Consoles have co-op levels, PC has full TDM [along with co-op].” As for the reason why console players will not get TDM, Rebellion explained, “we only had the power to make that decision on the PC version. We chose to include it.” Rebellion were able to include TDM because the studio is “self-publishing” the PC version, not 505 Games.

Also if you haven’t, the demo is now available on PSN and XBL. Here’s some gameplay footage, although it is from the single-player portion of the game.

[youtube id=”L39nwSe_5z0″ width=”600″ height=”350″]

Sniper Elite V2 is set to release May 1st in North America for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Battlefield 3 Devs Detail Incoming Updates, More Hints of Snow Maps, Android Battlelog App On The Way

Developers at DICE share some updates regarding upcoming Battlefield 3 patches and hint, once again, at snow-covered maps making their way to BF3. Also, more on the Android version of the Battlelog app.

The recent Battlefield 3 patch did bring with it it’s fair share of issues. Luckily, along with previously promised updates, Senior Gameplay Designer Gustav Halling has confirmed, “…we are working on a future patch for some issues,” however, there is still “no date.” One bug in particular that is quickly gaining attention is the extreme effectiveness of the M26 MASS underslung attachment. Clearly, it was not meant be tweaked in such a way and Halling has confirmed a fix in the “next client update, no date.” Additionally, a bug that hides the Squad Leader from the minimap when using color blind mode has been sent to QA for reproduction and will be looked into, according to Community Manager, Daniel Matros.

Tim Kjell, Game Designer at DICE teased some incoming “nice tweaks” as well. Yesterday, he tweeted to his followers, “before I went home sick yesterday I saw some nice tweaks by [Alan Kertz, senior gameplay designer at DICE] – he might be on to something sweet.”

Just recently, DICE/EA released the iOS version of their social network service, the Battlelog. You can read more about it here. Android users are still patiently awaiting for their own version of the app. Elton Muuga, Web Software Engineer at DICE, teased that it is in the works and could see a release soon. As he jokingly commented on his fingernails in a recent promotional shot for the app, Muuga tweeted, “People complaining about my fingernails in the promo shot, sorry. I will fix that after the Android release.”

Onto something, shall we say, more interesting? A few days back Halling mentioned the word “snow” in one of his tweets (unrelated to BF3). However, when one follower explained to him that this reminded him to ask if any snow-covered maps would possibly make it into DICE’s upcoming Armored Warfare expansion, Halling simply answered, “the future will tell.”

Snow-covered maps have been quite a hot (or cool?) topic among Battlefield 3 fans for quite some time now. The last hint we saw was back in December while more recently, we saw some fan-made images of snow-covered maps in Battlefield 3. We know we’d definitely like to see this happen!

Modern Warfare 3 Collection 1 for PC Shows Up on Russian Retailer, Slated for This Month

Since Modern Warfare 3’s release, there hasn’t been much talk of DLC plans for the PC version of the game. That’s partly due to the lack of the Call of Duty Elite subscription service on the platform, which is still being worked on.

A few days ago,  Infinity Ward confirmed that PlayStation 3 users will be able to purchase the DLC collection on April 19th, and mentioned that it’s coming soon for PC players. It seems that PC players can expect the content collection to drop some time in April.

Thanks to MP1st reader Virta, who spotted a listing for Modern Warfare 3 Collection 1 for PC on Russian retailer Gamazavr, now we have reason to believe that the collection should release on Steam this month as it’s indicated on the site. Players who pre-order the collection through Gamazavr will receive a steam code that can be redeemed when the game is released.

Collection 1 packs in the following:

  • Four maps: Piazza, Liberation, Black Box, and Overwatch
  • Spec-Ops missions: Negotiator and Black Ice

We expect new achievements will accompany the content bundle, which you can read more about it here.

Call of Duty Franchise Shows Early Signs of Stagnation

With over 40 million players across the Call of Duty franchise, the series has been the market leader for a while as far as mutliplayer gaming on consoles is concerned. However, early stages of market saturation might have been noticed recently.

Modern Warfare 3 sold over 6.5 million copies on launch day (in US and UK) compared to Black Ops’ 5.6 million, continuing the trend of year over year growth of every Call of Duty title. But, 2012 hasn’t been as kind to Modern Warfare 3. Analysts at Macquarie Equities have informed Gamasutra that “Modern Warfare 3 volume sales are behind by around 4.2 percent” compared to those of Black Ops at the same time last year. This indicates that Modern Warfare 3 is lagging behind Treyarch’s Black Ops by a slight margin, which should raise an eyebrow or two.

Earlier this year, Eric Hirshberg, Activision Publishing CEO, stated that one of the reasons why Modern Warfare 3 had weak sale numbers (in January) was due to sales “moving forward.” He explained, “I think they moved forward. We broke the record for the biggest day and the biggest first five days and the biggest first 16 days. ” He continued, “When you have such a successful pre-order programme and such a successful launch week I don’t think it’s surprising that the shape of the curve after that looks a little different than the year before.”

In March, it is rumored that Modern Warfare 3 sold less than half of what Black Ops moved during March 2011. Analysts at an investment bank and asset management firm, Piper Jaffray, on the other hand, had a different take on why Modern Warfare 3 isn’t selling as it was predicted. They suggested that causal gamers, who don’t buy games day one, are purchasing less games, and are using their consoles for media purposes instead (Netflix, Hulu, and such.) Further, Webush Securities’ Michael Pachter believes that gamers are gravitating towards buying games on day one, which means a thinner tail after the lunch window.

It should be noted that Call of Duty Elite adds an additional revenue stream tied to Modern Warfare 3 for Activision, and has over 1.5 million subscribers according the latest figures.

Meet The Mind Behind Modern Warfare 3’s All or Nothing, BoxOfDemons

Last month, Infinty Ward introduced the newest community playlist called “Gunplay Playlist,” which features several Free For All variations. Unlike One in the Chamber and Gun Game, the Call of Duty community was for the first time treated to All or Nothing. You can learn the rules of all the game types in Gunplay here.

When players get into any All or Nothing match, the loadout, BoxOfDemons, has to be selected in order to proceed. This gamertag/PSN ID is featured in All or Nothing as a tribute to the game type’s creator who goes by the gamertag BoxofDemons.

We recently learned Devan, aka BoxofDemons, has been an MP1st reader for quite a while, so we had the opportunity to pick his brain about All or Nothing. He also released his first YouTube video that you can watch below.

Fahed Jaradat: Let me start by thanking you for a great game type that I hope will live on in one form or another in future CoD titles. The combination of using scavenger as the first perk to unlock and having to load your gun after getting the first kill is brilliant. Overall, All or Nothing is one of the best FFA variations I have ever played.

FJ: How does it feel to have left your mark, to an extent, in CoD history?
BoxOfDemons: It feels absolutely amazing! I never thought All or Nothing would get anywhere. This is, as far as I know, the first time they have added in a community made game mode and it feels great to be the first.

FJ: Any advice on button layout? I use tactical, but I’m not sure it’s best for AoN.
BoD: I’ve always used the default layout and have heard some people saying it’s difficult on tactical. I’d say stick to default for AoN unless you can get a few kills with the knife on tactical and the USP .45 is your only concern.

FJ: Why did you pick Dome, Mission, and Hardhat? Or was it Infinity Ward who picked those?
BoD: It wasn’t my idea to limit AoN to these maps. I really enjoyed playing AoN on maps like Arkaden that way you have a little more room to play and you can expand above a 10 player limit. I did not, however, play on maps like Bakaara that have the mounted guns. If Infinity Ward decides to use more maps, or if they add AoN as its’ own mode, they could easily remove the mounted guns and raise the player limit.

FJ: What other game types do you enjoy in Modern Warfare 3? What other MP games do you enjoy?
BoD: I have been playing a lot of domination and kill confirmed. I also am addicted to playing infected in private matches where I do things such as setting humans to be juggernauts and having the infected have C4 and RPGs. When it comes to other multiplayer games I really don’t have a lot of others that I play. I got MW3 and BF3 for Christmas and at first I was addicted to BF3 and that’s all I played until probably the end of January. After BF3 I popped in MW3 and became even more addicted to it, mainly for it’s “pick up and play” style. Now that I am recognized in MW3 I would feel like a traitor if I even put BF3 into my Xbox.

FJ: Did Infinity Ward send a care package for using your creation?
BoD: They didn’t compensate me in any form besides in-game recognition. I was talking to some IW members yesterday and, jokingly, we have come to an agreement that it would only be fair if they mailed me hand-drawn pictures of ponies. If I get those drawings I’ll be glad to show you.

FJ: Are you happy with MW3’s spawn logic? Does it work for AoN?
BoD: The spawn logic is just horrible for the FFA Gunplay modes. This is especially true for Dome. It gets very frustrating when you spawn 2 inches in front of somebody on OIC. When playing All or Nothing it is still frustrating but obviously not as big of a deal. Mission and Hardhat are rarely a problem on AoN.

More Far Cry 3 Multiplayer Details – Ubisoft Massive to Focus on “Team Play” and a Non-Militaristic Setting

Daniel Berlin, Game Designer at Ubisoft Massive, speaks about the particular approach that the team is taking with the multiplayer of Far Cry 3. He also details the setting of the game and talks a little bit about the engine used to power Far Cry 3’s stunning visuals.

Speaking to Machinima, Berlin talked about what Ubisoft Massive is doing differently with the multiplayer of Far Cry 3 and how it will stand out among other shooters currently on the market.

The approach was definitely more team play, getting more team play in. Massive studio has a lot of online expertise. It’s kind of what we pride ourselves in and we play a lot of online games. It kind of felt like a lot of games, the only team play through action that exists is the fact that I don’t shoot my teammates. We wanted more team play through action going on. And, the games that actually do focus on team play is very class restrictive. I mean, like, if I run around with my buddies and someone gets shot down and I want to revive them but I can’t because I got to switch class. So what we did is we created a series of core team play features, like the Battle Cry, for example.

Berlin also stressed that players can expect a much different setting than what many modern day shooters take place in. “The game is very, very not military.” He spoke of crazy pirates dropping barrels filled with a chemical weapon that makes everyone go insane, much like we saw in the latest Far Cry 3 multiplayer gameplay trailer. He added, “I would say the overall theme is survival on a tropical, beautiful island and that is filled with insanity.”

If you missed it, Berlin confirmed earlier that vehicles would not be returning to Far Cry 3’s multiplayer.

As for how Fary Cry 3 is achieving it’s gorgeous visuals, Berlin explained, “we’re using the Dunia Engine for Far Cry [3] which was the same engine in Far Cry 2. So basically, Far Cry 2 looked beautiful 4 years ago on the Dunia Engine, so since then we’ve done a series of updates so, I mean, the game is just looking better and better and on all platforms.”

Far Cry 3 will release on September 4th in the US and September 6th in the rest of the world simultaneously across all platforms.

What do you think about the multiplayer so far? Will it be just another Call of Duty, or do you think Ubisoft Massive has what it takes to put a unique spin on Far Cry 3?

Leaked Crysis 3 Screen Shot Reveals Setting and Enemies, Crysis 2 Double XP Weekend Ends Monday

Update: Tiago Sousa, Principle R&D Graphics Programmer at Crytek, has claimed the leaked screen shot to be “some fake fan image.” Looks like we’ll have to wait for Crytek’s big announcement for official confirmation.

Original Story: Only a few days ago, the boxart for Crytek’s upcoming AAA shooter sequel, Crysis 3, was leaked to the public. Today, we catch an even better glimpse at the protagonist, the setting and the enemies that players will be facing in this direct sequel to 2011’s Crysis 2.

Check out this image below of our main nanosuit-wearing protagonist facing what seems to be a new alien threat in the overgrown, post-apocalyptic streets of New York City.

As I walk through the shadow in the valley of death... crap, one way street.

For those who’ve missed it, from now until 12pm GMT tomorrow, April 16th, Crysis 2 players across all platforms still have the chance to scoop up some double XP in Crysis 2’s multiplayer.

Right on the heels of this double XP event, Crytek is set to officially announce their next AAA FPS tomorrow as well. Stay tuned to MP1st on Twitter and Facebook for more Crysis 3 coverage!

Ghost Recon Future Soldier – A Detailed Look at Competitive Multiplayer

Our last Ghost Recon Future Soldier preview took a look at the the newly introduced Guerilla Mode and detailed a number of features included in the Ghost Recon Network. Now, Red Storm Entertainment gives up the goods when it comes to what many Ghosts have been waiting for: Competitive multiplayer details.

If you haven’t yet, make sure to check out the latest multiplayer gameplay trailer from Ubisoft!

Tommy Jacob, Creative Director of Ghost Recon Future Soldier’s Multiplayer, explained to Mr. Sark of Machinima how GRFS’s multiplayer will differentiate itself from other shooters on the market.

All of our game types are objective driven. So, our goal coming into the project was we wanted the players to feel that value in their squad, we wanted the teammates to provide an obvious value on the battlefield. So, because of the fact that we reward the teams that play together – we reward though XP, through the score and just through the win of the match base on how objectives are completed – we found that that drives even the self proclaimed lone wolf of lone wolf players to play with their squad, to play in the intel loop, to help provide cover when taking objectives. So that was a big goal for us to get players playing together.

Jacob then went on to detail the various game types available in GRFS.

Conflict: Objective-based team deathmatch.

Decoy: Attacking team must secure three objectives, 2 of which are decoys. Upon discovering the true objective, a last and final demolition objective will be revealed.

Saboteur: A bomb located at the center of the map must be acquired and brought to the opposing bomb site, typically located near the enemy’s spawn, and must then be detonated. This is essentially a reverse tug-of-war between the two opposing teams.

Seige: Based on the classic Ghost Recon game mode, Blind Seige, but less “blind” due to the Intel Loop feature included in GRFS. Attacking team must capture the defenders objective while the defenders must protect it to the death. No respawns.

In total, 10 maps will be available while each game mode will be playable across all 10 maps.

Gun Smith will inlcude 52 weapons with roughly 48 attachments with the majority of each modification being functional, meaning it will have some sort of effect on the gameplay. This should make for quite a number of combinations and should let players really customized their weapons to their preferred play style.

One aspect to weapon balance described was control vs. maneuverability. Certain attachments will force a player to sacrifice control for maneuverability and vice versa. This means that a player focusing on maneuverability will recover accuracy quicker after moving around while adding more attachments will contribute to the control you have with your weapon.

There will not be enough unlock points to unlock every weapon and attachment in a playthrough, but points can be re-spent by using re-spec tokens awarded once at the beginning of a play through and once more upon reaching level 50. All attachments and weapons can be first tested in a firing range before purchasing.

When asked why the team behind the Ghost Recon franchise decided to adopt and stick with 3rd-person gameplay, Jacob answered, “one of the advantages of playing in the 3rd person is you gain that sense of the location of the team around you and, in a sense of danger, if you see those bullet richots at your feet, you get a much more quicker sense of direction in 3rd person.”

The Confidence system allows player to capture objectives quicker as more team members are present in the capture radius. Currently, there are three levels of confidence. 3 players can capture an objective quicker than 2 and 2 quicker than 1. Additionally, the Engineer class will have the ability to account for 2 levels thanks to specific equipment exclusive to that class.

Private matches will be present in GRFS with an entire squad system set up as well. Private matches will also allow players to unlock all weapons right off the bat as well as let players set up asymmetrical matches. For example, a squad of 4 could test their wits against an enemy team of 8. Jacob explained that the Squad system is more of more of a clan-type system while Fire Teams are the in-game sub-teams. Communications and intel benefits will contribute to the entire team while certain functions, like spawning, are limited to Fire Teams.

Ghost Recon Future Soldier – A Detailed Look at Guerilla Mode and the Ghost Recon Network

Red Storm Entertainment dishes out the details on the various co-op modes included in Ghost Recon Future Soldier and walks through many of the features available at a Ghost’s finger tips in the brand new Ghost Recon Network.

Co-Op:

As many of you Ghosts already know, Ghost Recon Future Soldier’s Campaign, in it’s entirety, will be playable as four-player co-op, including split-screen. You can check out some footage of GRFS’s co-op campaign in action right here!

The newly introduced Guerilla Mode will allow players to tackle waves of enemies as a four-man team in intense and unforgiving firefights. Ubisoft has stated, however, that Guerilla Mode will not support matchmaking, but for some very legitimate reasons. Associate Producer of GRFS’s Multiplayer Kenneth Price explains to Machinima’s Mr. Sark:

[Guerilla Mode] only for your Xbox LIVE [and PSN] friends. And, the reason we did that is the game requires so much cooperative play, you getting in a game and just getting in there with a guy, even if it’s just one guy who’s just going to run around with a shotgun and go through enemy lines and not play as a team, it’s going to screw everything up. It’s really not going to make it a fun experience. You really need to play with guys you know, guys who want to make it that tactical, fun, communicative experience. That’s really what we’re going for.

Guerilla mode boasts 50 rounds total, equaling to about 30 hours of gameplay over four maps, according to Price. Fear not for those worried about having to sit through 30 hours in one go in order to reach level 50. Rounds can be saved by the host so that players can continue their progress at a later date.

Price also detailed what a typical day in the life of a Ghost in Guerilla Mode will look like:

Round 1: Players will infiltrate and secure enemy head quarters using stealth (if so desired).

Round 2 – 9: Players will be tasked with defending the captured head quarters be defeating waves of enemies.

Round 10 (Boss Round): Players will be challenged with tougher enemies including vehicles and riot-shield wearing foes.

Upon completing the first 10 rounds, the head quarters will then move to a different area of the map and the cycle will begin again. However, Price promises varied locales and continuously changing gameplay to keep players on their toes.

Leaderboards will not be supported in Guerilla Mode at the moment but achievements and progress will be kept track of on the Ghost Recon Network.

Ghost Recon Network:

Rob Newns, Lead Designer on the Ghost Recon Network (now available on Google Play), a free service launching in conjunction with the release of GRFS, also went through some of the neat features that will be available to those using the service. According to Newns, players will have access to everything within the game like stats and achievement progress. Additionally, squad management and 3D Gun Smith will also be at the players’ finger tips. For those wanting to learn a thing or two about how to improve their game, heat maps can also be studied in the GRN. The Ghost Dossier will keep track of players’ careers and will include its own progression system. Not only with the Ghost Dossier keep track of your achievements in GRFS, but future Ghost Recon titles as well.
