Bandai Namco Entertainment and Spike Chunsoft have released a hotfix to Dragon Ball Sparking Zero today, and this is to solve a few issues that surfaced from the DLC 3 Daima Character Pack 2 released last week.
However, one “fix” might not sit well with players, though it’s understandable why Bandai Namco is doing it.
The latest episode of Peacemaker Season 2 has just aired, and with it, the confirmation of what many fans online have been speculating about over the past few weeks.
After downloading and installing the mandatory title update that was rolled out alongside the DLC, players might have noticed that they were able to use some of the premium (read: paid) DLC characters for free, which, y’know, defeats the purpose of paying for said characters.
That “issue” is now resolved with today’s title update, which gamers will see as Dragon Ball Sparking Zero update 2.000.104.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Daima DLC Fighters Now Locked Behind Paywall via Patch 2.000.104
Bandai Namco announced the following as fixed in today’s patch:
In Classic Control mode, some skill or blast commands that include a guard button were unintentionally triggering guards.
Certain locked characters were able to be selected by mistake.
EA is taking a page right out of Activision's and even SEGA's marketing book, as a new live-action trailer for Battlefield 6 has been released, featuring some high-profile celebrities.
While there is another fix included in today’s update that necessitated a fix, you can bet that DLC characters being playable for free was the main bug Bandai Namco wanted to fix ASAP, hence hte quick patch turnaround. Mind, I don’t blame the publisher, since it will hurt their bottonline if they don’t patch it right away. I just hope that other gameplay-related bugs and issues would be targeted as swiftly.
The new characters in the Daima Character Pack 2 include:
Goku (Mini) – Super Saiyan 4
Goku (Daima) – Super Saiyan 4
Vegeta (Daima) – Super Saiyan 3
Majin Duu
Third Eye Gomah
Giant Gomah
If you want to play as these characters, it’s best to get your wallet ready.

Pocketpair Inc. has released Palworld update 1.079.736, which is a minor update addressing some dungeon-related bugs.
Don’t expect much with this update beyond a few minor changes.
Palworld Update 1.079.736 Patch Notes for 9/28
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the game would crash when re-entering a dungeon after summoning a Mimog and saving inside the dungeon.
Mechanic Adjustments
The warning that appears when the world settings are set too high for the system playing the game will now show once every 15 minutes.
As mentioned, there’s not a whole lot to this update other than a few things. The update, which is now available on all platforms, does not bring any unexpected downtime or anything and is relatively small in size, so you’ll be able to jump back into the action as soon as it downloads.
For those who missed the news, Palworld 1.0 is now planned to launch in 2026. Details on the update are still limited, but generally speaking, when a game reaches 1.0, it means it’s exiting early access and is considered “feature complete.” However, don’t expect the content to stop rolling in because of it, as we’re sure more Palworld content will be released after that update.
But in the meantime, we’ll just have to make do with these more minor updates, and of course, anything left on the roadmap leading to the 1.0 launch.

As promised by Capcom, Monster Hunter Wilds’ Title Update 3 is now live, and this brings the Final Fantasy 14 collaboration content into the game.
The latest major update for Monster Hunter Wilds is live now on consoles and PC, and this adds a new quest, new monster variant, and a lot more. There’s a lot to take in with the patch, which players will see as Monster Hunter Wilds update 1.030.010, and should be a hefty download.
The latest episode of Peacemaker Season 2 has just aired, and with it, the confirmation of what many fans online have been speculating about over the past few weeks.
For those on PS5, you should see two downloads for some reason. After rolling out update 1.030.000, the game then released another update as version 1.030.010, which we can confirm is the current version.

With a patch this big, don’t be surprised if something breaks, which will then need a follow-up update. If Capcom releases one, expect it here on MP1st.
Announced during the Tokyo Game Show this year, Metal Gear Solid Delta's Online Multiplayer Mode, "Fox Hunt," has finally been given a release date, as well as some new details.
It looks like The Finals is going to…Heaven? That’s according to the latest teaser by Embark Studios, saying that they’ll be opening the pearly gates on October 2, 2025.
I hope you’ve been a good player, because it seems the alternative may be falling into a sea of molten lava.
The curtains have been pulled back, and Season 8 of The Finals is now underway! With details released alongside its launch, Embark Studios has introduced some rather surprising new features to the game, with one of them being full mouse and keyboard support on consoles!
For those who want to use KBM on consoles, your wish has been granted!

The Finals Look to be Heading to Heaven
Mark your calendars for October 2, 2025, because something angelic is apparently happening in The Finals. As shared on the game’s social media, the pearly gates are soon going to open in The Finals. We don’t know exactly what that means, but a teaser accompanying the announcement on social media shows a tall, towering structure sinking into what appears to be Hell, with staircases on top leading into Heaven, literally.
We’re going to take a guess and assume this is a new mode (timed?) of sorts, likely somewhat of a Battle Royale where teams race against one another, battling it out in a sinking skyscraper, and trying to be the last remaining survivor, or first to reach “Heaven.” With Halloween being next month too, we wouldn’t be surprised if this is tied to being a seasonal event for it too.
Whatever it is, it has fans talking.
Of course, with the in-universe lore being that The Finals is a massive virtual game show, anything can happen. And it has, as the game features meteor showers, alien invasions, and a few other oddities that have made players shout “WTF!” I suppose Heaven (and possibly Hell) wouldn’t be all that strange, all things considered, but it’s still a pretty surprise.
Guess we’ll all find out when Embark reveals whatever this is on October 2, 2025. However, this won’t be the only thing we’ll be getting this month, at least from Embark Studios, as their other game, ARC Raiders, also launches (pre-orders now live) later in October with an open server slam playtest scheduled for October 17, 2025. It certainly is a busy month for the studio, and we cannot wait to see what they bring out next month.
One of the most requested features for The Finals is finally coming, and we're talking about kill cams, which Embark Studios has dubbed "Instant Replays.

Good news for Nintendo Switch 2 owners, looking forward to Resident Evil Requiem, as we managed to get some hands-on time with it during TGS 2025, and although we weren’t able to determine the framerate the game was running at, based on what we played, fans can look forward to an experience that truly feels “next-gen” for the platform.
Cutbacks, of course, are expected, but early signs are already looking very promising, and Capcom’s level of optimization on the Switch 2 seems to be paying off in a big way.
With Resident Evil Requiem (Resident Evil 9), Capcom isn't just introducing a new protagonist, but they are also looking to shake things up when it comes to how players experience horror and the cycle that comes with it.
Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 Version Impresses, Graphically and Performance Wise
Screenshot taken from PC (Steam) version
Look, as much as I love my Nintendo Switch 2, I won’t deny that it feels like a small step up from the original Nintendo Switch. Perhaps that’s due to how similar they look, as well as the fact that most games receive a resolution bump, rather than any major visual differences. Although I’d argue that Cyberpunk 2077 makes a strong case for pushing the Switch 2 to its limits, as I never once dreamed of that game running on the hardware, even if it does target 30fps in handheld mode.
But that all seems to be changing, at least in the types of games that we are going to start seeing on the Switch 2, as Capcom has made great strides in their porting department, bringing not only older and recently released titles to the platform, but soon, their newest mainline Resident Evil, Resident Evil Requiem.
Screenshot taken from PC (Steam) version
We recently sent one of our staff to attend TGS to try out the game, and while they left the demo feeling very impressed by what Capcom has created for a game, it was the Switch 2 version that ended up surprising them the most. The reason? Well, despite being downgraded in resolution and presumably frame rate, along with textures and other graphical areas, the game retained much of the visual look found on the other consoles. That, in part, is due to the heavy lifting of the game’s art direction and the art team’s brilliant use of lighting, coloring, and other atmospheric techniques, which allow it to still look stunning, even with some of the technical cutbacks.
Of course, there were some noticeable differences, such as the lower polygon count in some character models and environments, but they were never distracting enough to detract from the overall experience. The real star of the show was the performance, as the game ran incredibly smoothly. We weren’t able to get an exact frame rate, and I want to be very careful highlighting that this statement is “opinion-based” and not factual, but it felt like a consistent 60 frames per second, a major achievement for a game of this caliber on a handheld device.
While yesterday's Resident Evil Requiem gameplay trailer was impressive with its graphical fidelity and seamless transitions, we haven't seen anything yet.
Although, for all I know, it could have been playing at 30fps. Given the game’s slower-paced nature, with a mixture of various graphical techniques, it’s not out of the realm that a 30fps could feel like a 60fps. The only game I can think of that had a case like that is the 2014 PlayStation exclusive, developed by the now-defunct Evolution Studios, Driveclub. A racing game that ran at 30fps, but due to its extensive graphical features, motion blur, and other techniques, the game didn’t appear to be a 30fpsexperience.
News outlet Shacknews also shared a video of the same demo we played, showing how the gamer runs on the Switch 2.
Yeah, it’s hard to believe the game is running this smoothly, and again, it’s hard to say if it’s 60fps, 30fps, or uncapped FPS with DLSS and VRR helping smooth out the framerate. From our hands-on experience, we didn’t notice any actual dips while playing.
Of course, if you plan on playing this on PC, PS5, or the Xbox Series X|S, you’re going to be getting a more graphically feature-complete game with higher resolution. Hair textures, for example, on the Switch 2 appear to have the hair strands option disabled, along with missing some of the ray tracing features (it has its own, I believe) that are found on other platforms.
There’s definitely a difference between the Switch 2 version and the other platforms. However, as far as delivering an experience that still feels “next-gen” for the platform, Capcom has certainly delivered. It’s a game that will undoubtedly impress Switch 2 owners, showcasing the console’s capabilities and setting a high bar for future releases. The trade-offs are minor when considering the overall quality of the experience, and the fact that such a visually rich and performant game can run on a handheld device is truly remarkable. Resident Evil Requiem on Switch 2 is shaping up to be a must-have title, proving that the console can indeed deliver experiences that stand toe-to-toe with its more powerful counterparts, even with some concessions.
Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27, 2025, on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It’s also rumored to be coming to the PS4, either at launch, or a later date.

This is a server-side hotfix, and players on all platforms won’t need to download anything, as the fixes will be applied once players connect to the game’s servers.
At the 2025 Tokyo Game Show, Capcom put a Switch 2 and Resident Evil: Requiem in my hands, and honestly it felt like they were just showing off how well they know how to nail the Resident Evil formula at this point.

EA is taking a page right out of Activision's and even SEGA's marketing book, as a new live-action trailer for Battlefield 6 has been released, featuring some high-profile celebrities.
The latest episode of Peacemaker Season 2 has just aired, and with it, the confirmation of what many fans online have been speculating about over the past few weeks. In a shocking revelation that even caught the developers at Epic Games by surprise, the dance emote (Peaceful Hips) used in the show’s intro was removed from Fortnite due to its potential secret meaning.
Fair warning, if you haven’t watched the latest episode (S2E6 Ignorance is Chris) of Peacemaker Season 2, there will be spoilers ahead.
EA is taking a page right out of Activision's and even SEGA's marketing book, as a new live-action trailer for Battlefield 6 has been released, featuring some high-profile celebrities.
Fortnite Removes the Peacemaker Dance
If you’ve been keeping up with Season 2 of Peacemaker, then by now you know the twist that was introduced in the latest episode, “Ignorance is Chris.” Towards the end of the episode, when the rest of the remaining 11th Street Kids crew (John Economos, Leota Adebayo, Vigilante, and Emilia Harcourt) travel to the alternative universe to try and get Chris (Peacemaker) back, it’s revealed that Chris’ “perfect” universe isn’t so perfect as the members quickly take notice that there are no people of color in this world, with Chris realizing after looking at the alternative Earth’s version of the American Flag, which featured the version of the Swaszika used by the Nazi party.
For weeks, many had speculated that this would be the big twist for the alternative Earth (which, in DC comics canon, is Earth X), given the absence of people of color in the early episodes and the flags being folded. Once people started to realize that, other clues began to become more apparent, including in the intro, where only Chris and other characters from Earth X are seen using a questionable dancing pose that many have declared to symbolize the Swastika.
Although when you align the two poses together, they form a more unusual shape, resembling an “H,” it does seem to hint at the twist, given all the new context laid out. For some, that might be a stretch, though, putting Season 1’s intro into perspective, after its big twist was revealed, many were in agreement that the intro was actually hinting at Project Butterfly as the characters would throw their hands up in the motion of wings, thought initially to be a reference to an eagle.
For those looking forward to Battlefield 6, and it seems there are a lot of you who do, you'll be very glad to know that you'll soon be able to preload the game, as Electronic Arts has changed it to be much sooner.
Whether or not the Season 2 dance is indeed referencing a Nazi Swastika, it has certainly put Epic Games on edge, as they’ve removed the emote entirely from the game pending clarification from DC.
“As we inquire into our partner’s creative intentions in this collab. Assuming it’s not coming back, we’ll issue refunds in the next few days.” A rep told DiscussingFilms on X.
The dance removal has sparked a pretty heated discussion on social media, with many calling it a stretch, and rather than remove it entirely, it should have been replaced with Season 1’s dance. Others have pointed out the hypocrisy of Epic Games in this removal, as skins for D4vd, Kanye West & Elon Musk all remain, with D4vd currently under investigation for murder and pedophilia, Kanye West claiming that Hitler did nothing wrong and even releasing a song about him, and Elon Musk allegedly pulling a Nazi salute earlier this year at a Trump event.
Whether intentional or not on James Gunn’s part, we suppose Epic Games is playing it safe with this one, despite the controversy around the skins mentioned above. If the emote is not returned, those who purchased it will be refunded.
We suppose this will likely spark some changes at Epic Games, where they’ll need to be informed in every facet of a collab to avoid potentially including something that could change in its meaning later in said IP.

EA is taking a page right out of Activision’s and even SEGA’s marketing book, as a new live-action trailer for Battlefield 6 has been released, featuring some high-profile celebrities.
But don’t think for a minute that this is a trailer for Call of Duty, as things quickly take a turn for the better, as the series reaffirms its commitment to “Gritty Realism” and authenticity.
While Battlefield Portal was first introduced in Battlefield 2042, community-created experiences didn't really catch on, largely because most of them didn't offer XP when people played in these user-created playlists.
Battlefield 6 Throws Shade at Call of Duty
Taking a look at the video’s thumbnail above, you’d probably take a wild guess and think to yourselves, “So Battlefield is going to have celebrities and goofy skins?” Well, you’d be wrong, because if you haven’t hit play already, then you really should.
The live-action Battlefield 6 trailer, which features (and I’m not using the wording “stars” on purpose) Hollywood actor Zac Efron, NBA Star Jimmy Butler, singer Morgan Wallen, and MMA fighter Paddy Pimblett for a measly 20 seconds, is a clear reference to Call of Duty’s past marketing, where they would use celebs in their live-action trailers. Rather than build an entire trailer around them, EA and the Battlefield Studios make light work of the guest celebs by blowing them up within the first 20 seconds of the video, with the tone of the trailer shifting to something far more serious as more believable soldiers roll in. One soldier says,” Who was that?” while another responds with “Doesn’t matter.”
Have you ever played a game of Conquest in a Battlefield game where the enemy team just has your team completely dominated to the point that you don't even have one flag? This is something that most likely has happened to any Battlefield player at one point or another.
It’s clear shade thrown at Call of Duty for their overreliance on celebrities as a selling point. Though technically hypocritical for even featuring them in the first place, the message is pretty loud and clear.
Despite the shade thrown, it’s all in good fun, much like Nintendo and SEGA had in the early 90s when they competed against each other, which is something we’re seeing today, at least on the SEGA side, where the publisher is throwing shade at Mario Kart with its recent release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
Got to love it!
Now the bigger question is, will Call of Duty respond to Battlefield 6’s marketing with a little bit of their own? We wouldn’t be shocked, considering that the publisher and studios are already reacting to some of the backlash Battlefield 6 has brought to the Call of Duty franchise by simply aiming to be more authentic when it comes to skins. Treyarch has already cancelled some big collaborations that were initially planned for the game, and even halted the carry-forward feature that would bring over past purchased skins into the game.
With two months to go until the release of Black Ops 7, we wouldn’t be surprised if they try to respond in their own creative way. Either way, a little competition is good, and we’re excited to see how both franchises push each other in the coming years.
Battlefield 6 officially launches on October 10, 2025, on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-loading for Battlefield 6 will begin this week, on October 6, 2025, for all platforms.
While literally almost every first-person shooter game available on console offers aim assist in single-player and multiplayer modes, some gamers might have been used to aim assist being so strong that it almost does the work for you.

The EA Sports FC series has found itself in a similar position to many sports titles, where the on-field product remains as authentic and compelling as ever. However, the lack of major changes across various game modes has led to a consistent decline in the series’ performance on this latest generation of consoles.
Thankfully, EA Sports has managed to bounce back this year with franchises like Madden NFL 26, and EA Sports FC 26 looks to do the same by focusing on what has made the series great in the past, its gameplay.
Refinement at its Core
Soccer, or football as it’s known around most of the world, is one of the grandest sports in the world, with rabid fan bases and traditions that date back much longer than most fans attending have even been alive. If there’s one thing that the series has consistently done across the years, whether it was called FIFA or FC, it’s provided a true-to-life experience on the pitch for players on a presentation level in each and every game. The recreated stadiums, iconic intros like West Ham’s “I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles” that I never skip, and the overall broadcast make the game feel as authentic as possible. EA Sports FC 26 boasts over 120 stadiums, 35 leagues, and more than 20,000 players across 750 clubs, which is truly impressive. This also includes leagues that can only be found in the FC series, such as the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, and the Barclays Women’s Super League, to name a few.
The presentation is not the only way that EA Sports is looking to bring authenticity to the game, though. To help make the game more accessible to a wider range of players, EA Sports FC 26 now has two preset gameplay types, Competitive and Authentic. Choosing Competitive means that there will be higher responsiveness and a higher level of player control, with a larger focus on the online modes in the game. Authentic gameplay, on the other hand, is more focused on being more realistic with a more accurate match tempo and speed for the various offline modes, especially in Career Modes.
A big focus by the development team in this year’s game was on the fundamentals that are at the very core of the gameplay. This includes dribbling, defending, passing, attacking, and many other skills. For instance, Dynamic Dribbling gives you enhanced control of the ball, while movement now feels more agile and explosive than the players that often felt more sluggish in the past.
Goalkeeper fundamentals were something they also paid close attention to, aiming to make them be more reliable and play more true-to-life than in the past. This was further enhanced with a new control scheme that allows you to have better control of the goalkeeper themselves. Using machine learning to analyze specific scenarios that a goalkeeper may face in a game, EA Sports FC 26 now has much smarter and consistent goalkeepers than ever before.
The Little Things
Compared to some other EA Sports games, where the Ultimate Team mode is a secondary option to others like Career mode, Ultimate Team is always one of the biggest attractions year in and year out for the FC series. Ultimate Team first debuted back in FIFA 09 and has had a major place ever since. This mode tasks you with building the best team you can by using collected player cards that you obtain through various means.
At the start, you get to select your league, which provides you with a starter pack for both a men’s and an associated women’s team. For instance, if you select Premier League for men’s, you get the Barclays Women’s Super League pack with it. It’s still great to see the integrated Ultimate Team that allows both men and women on the same intergender roster too. The goal in FUT is to build the best team possible using the lineup of player cards available to you. At the start, this is going to look pretty rough, with players ranging in the 60’s and 70’s for overall rating. This lineup can be improved pretty quickly though with some challenges to get better players, as well as just opening card packs that you earn or purchase with earned currency in the game.
New to FUT are live events that you can partake in throughout the year, with some events requiring specific criteria to enter. This means you’ll have to shape your roster in unique ways depending on the event, including having to disrupt some chemistry to fit certain archetypes. I enjoyed having these added to the mode as something to switch things up a little alongside the rest. At its core though, FC Ultimate Team is mostly as you knew it from last year and really other recent years, so you should not expect to all of a sudden like it if you didn’t like it in the past. On the other side of the coin, if you love playing FC Ultimate Team every year, you’ll once again have a blast here.
Manager Career now comes in two varieties in EA Sports FC 26, Live and Original. The original is the same old Manager Career that it has been for a few years now, which is still fun to play, but definitely feels a bit dated. The Live version introduces live events and challenges based on real-world events, making the mode more dynamic. These events are added weekly and monthly. These live updates bring real-world scenarios and alternative storylines into the mix that can make things much more interesting when it comes to injuries, trade rumors, and more. For example, one of your star players may come to you before a big game and tell you that they really need the game off, which can really upset your team’s balance to where you have to overcome adversity.
The rest of the Manager’s Career is just as it always is: you take control of a team and get to hire coaches, sign players, trade players, play games, and just do all the aspects of running the team. Even with this new addition of live events, though, Manager Career still feels way too similar to the past, especially if you pick the offline Original version. This is a mode that really needs a major revamp, like we saw with Madden’s Franchise this year, so hopefully that is in the pipeline in a subsequent entry.
Choose Your Archetype
Player Career is also mostly as it has been, though with a little bit of spice added in the form of new Archetypes based on the best in the sport. At the start, you get the option to start with a fresh new season or jump into live start points where you join the ongoing football season based on their standings. From there, you can select to create a new men’s player, play as a real player from today, or even play as an icon like David Beckham. The icons have permanent options and temporary options, so keep an eye out on this throughout the life of the game. After creating your player to look as you would like, you get to choose if they have a Clean Slate origin story or a custom one. The custom allows you to choose things like your age, skill level, and personality types before jumping in.
Selecting your position comes next, which is where the all new Archetypes come into play. After selecting one of the four positions of Attacker, Midfielder, Defender, or Goalkeeper, you get to select from one of 13 different Archetypes that are dependent on which position you chose. For example, if you select the Attacker position, you’ll have access to the Ronaldinho-inspired Magician Archetype, the Alex Morgan-inspired Finisher Archetype, or the Zlatan Ibrahimovic-inspired Target Archetype. For Career Mode, you are locked to only one Archetype for your entire career though, so choose wisely.
Manager Favour is also back again, which is becoming a staple across player career modes in most EA Sports games in some fashion. Manager Favour can fluctuate over time and may lead to changes in game time or overall team standing. This system still works fairly well and is a good indicator of where you stand in your career and team.
Archetypes are the game’s new version of a progression system for your player. These archetypes are defining characteristics for your specific player, which are based on legends of the game and their own tendencies form their career. By leveling up the archetype in your career, you’ll gain access to new signature perks that can help you in different ways.
Leveling up will also unlock Specializations related to your archetype, giving you even more perks and boosts for your player. The Specializations are also inspired by football greats, such as Magician having a Magician+ that is once again inspired by Ronaldinho, as well as the Thierry Henry-inspired Hotspot and Mia Hamm-inspired Invader. This just shows how deep this new system gets, which really enhances the Player Career that is overall pretty standard year in and year out. I really had a lot of fun trying some different Archetypes out by restarting Career Mode to see which I liked best in the long run.
Archetypes are not exclusive to Player Career either, with them playing a major role in the online-only Clubs mode. When you first create your online avatar for Clubs, you are asked to pick an Archetype. The big difference here, though, is that your initial choice of an Archetype isn’t the end-all be-all. In Clubs, you can upgrade and customize one of the Archetypes that you select initially, but can then unlock and switch between any of the other Archetypes in the future. These can be unlocked through challenges similar to the ones found in FUT, though specific to each Archetype in Clubs mode. While Archetypes were a nice addition to what would have probably been a stale Career Mode, they really flourish here in Clubs and have major promise moving forward as well. The rest of Clubs is pretty standard, but another nice new feature is that you can now affiliate with three Clubs at the same time.
Verdict
Rather than presenting players with anything earth shattering, EA Sports FC 26 takes a similar approach to what NBA 2K26 did this year by refining and polishing the existing product year over year in what felt more like an iterative entry in the end.
The new gameplay improvements can be felt in action for those that play each and every year, Live Events in Manager make things feel more dynamic, and the new Archetypes bring more life to both Player Career and Clubs. If any of these sound intriguing, the game should be well worth picking up, but those who think it just sounds like more of a roster update than anything may want to skip EA Sports FC 26 and wait till next year in the hopes of more widespread changes.
Score: 8/10
Pros:
Gameplay improvements focused on the fundamentals
Varying Competitive and Authentic gameplay
Player Archetypes define their style
Cons:
The core of the main game modes are mostly the same
Manager Career is starting to feel like a relic overall with minimal changes
At the 2025 Tokyo Game Show, Capcom put a Switch 2 and Resident Evil: Requiem in my hands, and honestly it felt like they were just showing off how well they know how to nail the Resident Evil formula at this point.
The first thing that ran through my head was how it would run on a Switch 2, and I was pleasantly surprised. I’m not a guy that can tell you the exact number of frames per second a game is running just by looking at it, but I didn’t notice any drops during my gameplay. Exploration, fleeing the monster, and cutscenes all ran as smoothly as I would expect from one of the more powerful consoles, and it looked decent on the small screen.
With Resident Evil Requiem (Resident Evil 9), Capcom isn't just introducing a new protagonist, but they are also looking to shake things up when it comes to how players experience horror and the cycle that comes with it.
Literal Dark Souls, But I’m Using “Literal” Correctly
It was, perhaps intentionally, quite dark. You know the screen that many games have, where you adjust the brightness? The one where you’re told to slide the bar until you can barely see a group of lines or the outline of a box? I usually slide that thing till the screen might be mistaken for a shooting star, were I to give an Olympic-style discus throw. Yet despite my obvious attempt to beat the system, the system still won. Some hallways were just plain dark, I’d assume for narrative and immersion purposes. It is, after all, a survival horror game, and they do want to horrify me.
And horrify me they did. The demo began with our heroine, Grace, waking up strapped to a bed with an IV in her arm. Ew. And they show the needle going in. Ew. The recent COVID-19 pandemic taught me that I have a thing about needles. I generally don’t enjoy looking at them, and downright hate seeing them go into the human body. Maximum gross. I’m already clicking my Horrified button.
Then I had to watch Grace rip the IV out, smash a vial of her blood that had been draining out, and cut herself free from the ankle straps that held her to the bed. It was awesome, if a little gruesome. A note in the room read, “Began blood extraction, checked pulse, no abnormalities. Administered Dexifil.” I myself was given something with that name when I got the Rona back in December of 2022. Well, not exactly that name. Mine was Dexafil, or dexamethasone, a steroid in the same family as the more popular, less powerful prednisone. Was a doctor (or mad scientist?) trying to speed up healing, or reduce inflammation? Do steroids inhibit some kind of virus? It raises a lot of questions.
While yesterday's Resident Evil Requiem gameplay trailer was impressive with its graphical fidelity and seamless transitions, we haven't seen anything yet.
After that, Grace set about some classic Resident Evil: moving back and forth through a set of areas, getting tools and keys in order to gradually advance, all while some threat eerily loomed. Her main goal, apart from the obvious need to survive, was to find a fuse to repair a broken electronic door. Of course, you can see where this is going. Yes, the place to obtain it was a bit far away, and the method of obtaining it required a tool from somewhere else entirely. During all the trekking this way and that, we know that evil is lurking.
Stalker, No Stalking!
There’s once again a stalker doing its thing, following Grace oh-so-slowly this way and that. We became familiar with this type of enemy in Resident Evil 2 with Mr. X, fell in love with it in Nemesis, and still others populate the modern installments. This time around, it’s some big giant thing with bad teeth. It makes its appearance right after the protagonist opens a cabinet to find a dead body, as one does. If you’re too awestruck to move, it might even take a bite out of you. I snuck a peek at the guy next to me getting chomped on, but I don’t know if he was watching a video or playing differently or what, because that didn’t happen to me. I saw Requiem’s stalker show up and noped right out of there.
Is Resident Evil 9 First-Person or Third-Person?
You can play Resident Evil: Requiem with first-person or third-person perspective, and even change in the middle, if you want. It’s as simple as a trip to the options menu. I stuck with first-person mostly, but depending on how it felt after a longer period, I might decide to switch to third-person. They both played well. The lady held her arm and moved a bit jerky in third-person, but that’s presumably a narrative choice, showing us the effects of her injuries and having just ripped a damn IV out of her own arm. That probably stings.
During combat, there’s no time to pause while you shuffle through items. The real-time menus that debuted in Resident Evil 5 are still here, adding tension by making every second stressful and important.
Sadly, the demo came with a strict time limit, so I didn’t get to completely escape my stalker or confront and kill it.
Leon in Resident Evil 9?
Equally unfortunate is the PR goof that claimed interviews weren’t possible, though they apparently were, but I was denied because of not having an appointment. Like, what? So I couldn’t ask about the leaks, such as Leon’s name coming up all the time, comparing Switch 2’s performance to PS5, Xbox, or PC in terms of real numbers, and so on. These burning questions will have to wait.
But that doesn’t take away from the good parts of the game itself, which were plentiful. While one can’t really get the full feel of a game in a 15-minute demo, I’d say Resident Evil Requiem seems to be shaping up to satisfy fans of recent installments. Capcom knows its craft, knows how to please a fanbase, and might just have another Resident Evil hit on its hands.
Resident Evil Requiem is due for release on Feb. 27, 2026 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC.
For those looking forward to Battlefield 6, and it seems there are a lot of you who do, you’ll be very glad to know that you’ll soon be able to preload the game, as Electronic Arts has changed it to be much sooner.
While Battlefield 6 won’t be released until October 10, console and PC players will be able to preload it literally a week before release, thanks to EA’s change.
While we got our hands on some of the gadgets across the four classes in Battlefield 6 during the Open Beta, it was only a small handful compared to what we're going to get in the final version of the game at launch.
This date change has been applied to both the PC and console versions (PS5, Xbox Series X|S).
Battlefield 6 Preload Date Moved Up on Both Consoles and PC
Originally, the preload was set to be available on October 8 — two days before release. However, EA has changed to October 3 on PS5 and PC!
We bought the game on PS5 and confirmed it via the image below:
For those on Xbox Series X|S, the date won’t matter, given you can preload it anytime once the data has been uploaded on the Xbox Store’s servers.
While literally almost every first-person shooter game available on console offers aim assist in single-player and multiplayer modes, some gamers might have been used to aim assist being so strong that it almost does the work for you.
Unfortunately, the file size of the game on each platform is not yet known, but that should change once the actual preload is live.
You know what this means? Battlefield 6 can be preloaded this coming week for both console and PC! That should further drive the hype up for players.
In other Battlefield 6 news, the developers have confirmed that players will earn XP in Battlefield Portal modes even if it’s not your standard Battlefield experience. The devs explained how it works, and it seems fair, lest it gets abused by the community.
Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be a true return to form, with it looking like DICE is listening to the community and nailing down most of the requested features.
While Bungie usually pulls the Destiny 2 servers on a weekday, that changes today, but it’s for a special reason. If you can’t log in to Destiny 2, it’s because Bungie has pulled the servers for maintenance to prep the game for the Raid Race kicking off later today.
We’re not expecting a patch to be released today, but don’t be surprised if there is one.

While Bungie’s Destiny 2 seems to be trodding along as usual, the studio’s other game, Marathon, seems to be in development limbo. After the artwork theft incident, the game has been delayed indefinitely.
While Battlefield Portal was first introduced in Battlefield 2042, community-created experiences didn't really catch on, largely because most of them didn't offer XP when people played in these user-created playlists.
While Battlefield Portal was first introduced in Battlefield 2042, community-created experiences didn’t really catch on, largely because most of them didn’t offer XP when people played in these user-created playlists.
That’s changing in Battlefield 6, as DICE aims to have traditional modes hosted by players and even non-traditional modes to contribute XP.
Have you ever played a game of Conquest in a Battlefield game where the enemy team just has your team completely dominated to the point that you don't even have one flag? This is something that most likely has happened to any Battlefield player at one point or another.
This means that even for player-hosted experiences, players will feel like they are being rewarded. But how does it work? Read on.
Battlefield Portal XP Gain in Battlefield 6 Explained
In a recent interview about Battlefield 6’s Portal mode on the Epic Games Store (yes, I’m not kidding), Design Director Aaron Steelman and Principal Game Designer Greg Black talked about Portal, and how they are rewarding players who test some of the zany and untraditional modes that will inevitably be created by the player base.
Just to clear things up, one of the biggest changes coming to Battlefield 6 is that players will earn XP no matter what they play, and this includes Portal creations, though there are certain caveats. Official modes and creations that are similar to Battlefield 6’s core gameplay loop, like 24/7 Rush or Hardcore Conquest, will grant the same amount of progression — just like if they were playing regular multiplayer modes.
Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be a true return to form, with it looking like DICE is listening to the community and nailing down most of the requested features.
Now, for creations that diverge from the traditional Battlefield modes and ruleset, such as “Top of the World” (a mode built by the devs where teams try to reach the map’s peak while slowing the opposing one down by utilizing their guns and equipment), will still reward XP, though not the traditional way, but depends on how much time is spent in them. This is the compromise DICE and Ripple Effect have come up with to ensure playing Portal is rewarding and that players won’t feel like they’re wasting their time that could be spent playing a mode that grants XP.
I’m all for this change. This means players can play regular Battlefield in order to gain full XP, but they can also fool around and try some of the wacky modes, without feeling like they’re wasting time. Sure, it probably won’t net you the same amount of XP as playing in regular modes, but it’s better than not seeing any XP at all. This also makes sure that it won’t be abused by the community since you know that will happen.
Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and even if the game isn’t out yet, we have info about the game’s first season, which you’ll want to read.
If you played the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, chances are you might have noticed how auto-spotting might have been a tad too powerful, as it even marked players even if they were obscured by smoke and more.

Treyarch is going big this year with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, as they've just revealed the full lineup of maps and modes that'll be available at launch.
Announced during the Tokyo Game Show this year, Metal Gear Solid Delta’s Online Multiplayer Mode, “Fox Hunt,” has finally been given a release date, as well as some new details.
Suit up, because the hunt begins on October 30, and we even have the exact time when it will be available.
While the story of the Metal Gear Solid franchise has always been somewhat "serious," fans of the franchise are all too familiar with Hideo Kojima's signature humor, sprinkling bits and pieces of it in some of the most unexpected and even over-the-top ways.
Commencing Operation Fox Hunt
A free update is coming to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on October 30, 2025, and it’s bringing back multiplayer mode to the franchise. However, instead of being a brand-new Metal Gear Online, Konami is taking its multiplayer in a new direction, with a newly created mode called “Fox Hunt.” Details on the mode can be found below.
Survive until the end:
Join the covert unit ‘FOX’ as a candidate member and participate in survival-style training missions. Survive by procuring weapons and equipment in the field.
Two types of game modes will be available with up to 12 players.
Survival Capture:
A tense, multi-phase mission where victory hinges on capturing the elusive Kerotan frogs. Their numbers dwindle as the match progresses, forcing players into intense clashes as they race to secure each frog and outlast their opponents.
Survival Intrude:
A high-pressure mission where players must hold their ground inside a designated zone to progress through each phase. As the match advances, the number of zones shrinks, making stealth and positioning even more critical.
Experience authentic stealth tactics with “AT-CAMO” and “Naked Sense.” Each player is equipped with an AT-CAMO suit as standard gear, allowing them to instantly deploy a full-body suit that changes camouflage patterns to suit different scenarios—whether evading pursuit, launching surprise attacks, or infiltrating.
Detect enemies and items using Naked Sense, an action that detects enemy presence and item locations.
Konami's $200 Collector's Edition for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is proving to be quite the disappointment for fans, as not only is it shipping pretty "broken," but the quality of the Snake figurine is, well, hilariously bad.
Progressively detect and pinpoint threats in your vicinity with a unique search technique
Sharpens your senses to search your surroundings for enemies and supplies.
Activating it over a long period of time could be risky as it will drain the player’s stamina.
An alert will show when a nearby player activates it. Swiftly hide to avoid detection.
Your mission: survive until the end
A multiplayer PvP where you team up in pairs and play with up to 12 players.
Fight to survive in 3 types of fields, including the jungle. 2 types of mission rules are available, selected at random for every match.
Those who failed to complete the objective during each phase will be removed from the mission.

From Jason to Michael Myers, Illfonic Takes on Another Classic Horror IP
Illfonic’s Halloween adaptation has been given a release date as well as a first look at its gameplay. As previously detailed, the title, much like Illfonic’s previous games, will feature an asymmetrical multiplayer game where one player takes on the role of Michael Myers, while the rest play as survivors.
However, it’s not solely going to be a multiplayer game, as it’s also been confirmed that there will be a single-player mode, with the man himself, John Carpenter, being involved in the story. Details on the campaign are still limited, and likely will be for a while, as Halloween won’t be released until September 8, 2026.
As for platforms, it’ll launch on PC, the PS5, and Xbox Series X|S later next year.
