Hitman 3 May 2022 Roadmap Unveiled; PC Ray Tracing Patch Set for May 24

IO Interactive shared the Hitman 3 May 2022 roadmap for players to check out, as well as teases for new content coming later this year. The highlight of the roadmap is a new patch coming to PC later this month which finally adds ray tracing, as well as the usual elusive targets, new challenges, and more.

Here’s the May 2022 roadmap for Hitman 3:

Spring Content

With the change to the release of the Freelancer game mode from Spring to second half of 2022, we’ve needed to adjust some of our plans for the next few months. It’s a relatively complex and fluid situation where we’ve been moving things around behind the scenes, but we’ve landed in a good place.

In our original plans, we had a patch scheduled for April that would have included fresh new content for that month and throughout May. Now, we’ll be introducing that content with our next patch, planned for May 24th.

As you can see above, the biggest change will be a few more rounds of Featured Contracts than we normally release over the course of a month – although we are brewing on some exciting ideas for how to make the most of them… When we hit May 24th, it’ll be business as usual with ET Arcade unlocks and HITMAN 3 ET’s back on the menu.

We hope that sharing more insights and going more ‘in-depth’ about the choices that we’ve made along the way will keep you informed about what’s to come in HITMAN 3. We waited longer than anticipated to share these plans with you to make sure that we could share them concretely and accurately. Thank you for your patience.

Besides content for May, IO Interactive also confirmed that the new Ambrose Island map is set to arrive in July, while the Freelancer mode will be arriving in the second half of 2022.

Stay tuned here at MP1st for more information on Hitman 3, as well as the patch notes for the upcoming update this May 24!

Battlefield 2042 Flashback Conquest & Infantry CQ Changes Inbound; Now Part of Rotation Update for the Foreseeable Future

If you’re a fan of Battlefield 2042 Flashback Conquest and Infantry Conquest game modes, you’re in luck! DICE and Ripple Effect Studios is making these modes part of the rotation update for the foreseeable future! Not only that, but the studio announced a few changes incoming to these modes as well.

Battlefield 2042 Flashback Conquest & Infantry CQ Changes:

Here’s what was shared today via the official Battlefield Direct Communication account (we’ve compiled the tweets for an easier read):

Today we have an update to share with you about some key changes taking place with Flashback Conquest and Infantry Conquest, two of our most popular Featured Experiences in Battlefield Portal, all based on your feedback.

These two Featured Experiences are proving popular, and we want to continue to deliver experiences you enjoy playing.

As of today (05th May), we plan to include either Flashback Conquest or Infantry Conquest in each Battlefield Portal Rotation Update for the foreseeable future.

Many of you have shared with us that including the Battlefield 1942 maps in Flashback Conquest disrupts the flow of the experience. This week, El Alamein and Battle of the Bulge have been removed from Flashback Conquest.

This is a change that we will keep a close eye on to see if you feel this is a positive or negative change, and we will make the necessary adjustments or revert this change based on the reception we see from this Featured Experience this week.

Alongside this, for Infantry Conquest we feel this is all about Boots on the Ground gameplay and we heard your complaints about the MAV being too disruptive in this Featured Experience, and we agree. We have taken the decision to remove the MAV from the next rotation of Infantry Conquest – please let us know your thoughts on if this improves or takes away from the Infantry Conquest experience.

We rely on your feedback to let us know if these changes help to improve things around Infantry and Flashback Conquest and we encourage you to continue to share

Players can leave their feedback on the official EA Answers forum thread on this topic.

Speaking of Featured Experiences, go check out the weekly mission and reward (along with the Featured Experiences for the week) right here.

Rumor: Mafia 4 in Development as Prequel to Original Trilogy; Hangar 13 Head Leaves Studio

According to a new report, Mafia 4 is apparently in development, with this new game serving as a prequel to the original trilogy. The news comes just as the development studio, Hangar 13, loses its studio head Haden Blackman. Nick Baynes, currently studio head at Hangar 13’s Brighton, UK office, will replace Blackman, with Kotaku subsequently reporting him as the lead for this new Mafia game.

As per the report from Kotaku, the project, codenamed Nero, is very early in its development. It will also be made in Unreal Engine 5 as opposed to the Mafia 3 engine that was used for the recently released remasters. If Mafia 4 is indeed a prequel to the trilogy, it should be set earlier than the 1930s, which could push it to a whole new era of gangsters.

VentureBeat broke the news on Blackman’s departure, and you can check the full email from 2K regarding it here:

Hello team,

It’s with mixed emotions that I share with you several leadership updates from Hangar 13.

Haden Blackman is stepping down as Studio Head of Hangar 13, and is leaving the company to pursue his passion at a new endeavor. We are grateful for Haden’s leadership in establishing Hangar 13, building and uniting teams in Novato, Brighton and Czech, and releasing multiple studio-defining Mafia games and collections. What Haden helped build will continue to carry forward and grow for years to come. We support all of our employees pursuing their passions, and we wish nothing but the best for him in what’s next.

Nick Baynes, Studio Head of Hangar 13 Brighton will take over as Studio Head of Hangar 13. With 30 years of industry leadership experience, Nick joined Hangar 13 in 2018 to establish Hangar 13 Brighton, and has spent the last four years growing the team, building up the studio’s capabilities, and launching terrific projects like Mafia: Definitive Edition and the Mafia Trilogy.

I hope you’ll join me in thanking Haden and wishing him the best, and congratulating Nick on a well-deserved promotion. While change can be challenging, it can also breed new opportunities and success.

We are confident the studio is in great hands heading into the multiple projects currently under way, and the team has 2K’s full support.

As is the case with everything unconfirmed, take this one with a grain of salt until officially confirmed.

Dying Light Standard Edition Owners Will Be Upgraded for Free to Enhanced Edition As of Today

Techland has some great news for the original Dying Light‘s fans, as Dying Light Standard Edition owners will be upgraded to the Enhanced Edition for free as of today! Check out the full announcement from Techland below.

Great news! 😍 Starting today, every player that owns the Standard Edition of Dying Light will be automatically upgraded to the Enhanced Edition.

#DyingLight

Techland has also shared how Standard Edition owners of Dying Light can switch to the Enhanced Edition:

To access your free new content :

  • – Launch Dying Light
  • – In the main menu choose the option “DLC Packs”
  • – Download all the new content!

List of now free DLCs

  • Dying Light The Following (including a new story, new map, and vehicle)
  • The Bozak Horde
  • Crash Test Skin Pack
  • Ultimate Survivor Bundle
  • Cuisine & Cargo

While this was met with fanfare from those who have only owned the base game for years now, there are some Enhanced Edition owners who felt that they have been screwed over, as evidenced by the comments on the same thread. There’s also a question with regards to those who just purchased the Enhanced Edition yesterday, or maybe even today, just before the announcement. It’s always going to be a bit controversial whenever free DLC or upgrades come around, but for the moment, if you’ve only owned the Standard Edition, you’re pretty lucky indeed.

News of this free upgrade couldn’t have came at a better time, as the game also received a new update today, which adds a new DLC plus several changes and fixes. Check out the full patch notes here.

Battlefield 2042 New Specialist “Lis,” Soldier Set and Boat Variants Spotted in Game Files

It seems that Battlefield 2042 patch 4.0 just keeps on giving! This tim around, a Battlefield 2042 new Specialist named “Lis” has been spotted in the game files, and might be the new Specialist coming in Season 1, which is due in “early summer” according to EA.

Once again unearthed by reliable Battlefield dataminer temporyal, a few more items spotted are a new soldier set, which was teased by the “They Come Out at Night” player card which was in patch 4.0! While there’s no naval combat in BF2042, boat variants were spotted in the game files, too.

As you can see from temporyal’s own disclaimer, these datamined items are in no way official, so there is no guarantee from DICE or EA that we’ll see these make their way into the game. They can be placeholder items, scrapped ideas and the like. However, given they are still in the game’s files even after patch 4.0 has been released, perhaps DICE is still working on these? One can hope, no? But a new Specialist being part of Season 1 is already confirmed even before the game came out, so there’s that. Will it be Lis? I wouldn’t bet against it.

Outside of these, some of the other stuff datamined from patch 4.0 are unreleased melee weapons, new cosmetics and a weather effect for a map, and even references to an in-game strore! Let’s hope that the May patch is full of hidden nuggets of info as well.
