Black Ops Cold Fireteam Dirty Bomb Trailer Gives an Idea of the Chaos

Treyarch has released the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Fireteam Dirty Bomb trailer that showcases the new mode the studio has crafted for this year’s franchise entry.

Fireteam Dirty Bomb has 10 teams of four players each competing for the Drity Bomb! Collect Uranium, set off bombs! Check out the trailer below.

In other Black Ops Cold War news, the beta will be starting this week for Xbox One and PC gamers, with PS4 players continuing where they left off last week. You can check the confirmed list of changes from the first week to the second week of the beta here. Also, Fireteam Dirty Bomb will be playable during the beta this week!

Marvel’s Avengers Update 1.11 October 14 Breaks Out (Update)

Crystal Dynamics has released the Marvel’s Avengers update 1.11 October 14 patch, and this includes some much-needed quality of life improvements and more! It clocks in at 3GB on Xbox One, and 2.3GB on PS4. Head on below for the list of changes.

Marvel’s Avengers Update 1.11 October 14 Patch Notes:

PATCH HIGHLIGHTS

  • Remote faction terminals have been added to outposts, which allow collection of faction assignments and villain sector bounties without the need to visit each faction coordinator in person.
  • Extended pickup radius for reward drops.
  • The ability to preview cosmetic vendor items.
  • Option to scale subtitle/closed caption text size.
  • Closed Captions will no longer be automatically display in cinematics when subtitles are displayed.
  • Movement speed increased in outposts when in Avengers Initiative
  • AI companion improvements, including assistance when player needs to be revived.
  • Improved Mega Hive rewards. They now are guaranteed to give two exclusive exotic gear items and an increased amounts of upgrade modules upon completion.
  • Implemented a fix that will retroactively grant Iron Man’s iconic outfit for players who previously lost it due to a bug.

FULL PATCH NOTES

  • SHIELD Substation Zero Outpost: SHIELD has opened Substation Zero to investigate new temporal anomalies that have begun forming across the world. A space that offers new narrative, characters, and content, you can find SHIELD Substation Zero in the Pacific Northwest on the WAR TABLE.
  • Tachyon Rift Missions: You’ll investigate the temporal anomalies by taking on the new Tachyon Rift missions, which are the first place players can get Cosmic Gear. The Tachyon storm will damage players over time, but charges Heroic energy at an increased rate. With the “Meridian” modifier active, players can pass through Temporal Anomalies to extended the time you can spend within a Tachyon Rift. A late-game offering, Tachyon Rift Missions require 140 Power Level or higher Super Heroes to play. These missions are available once per day and rotate out daily.
  • Addressed multiple causes of “infinite loading screens”.
  • Multiple crash issues resolved.
  • Improvements to save data integrity.
  • Improved reliability of backup saves used immediately after completing the Reassemble Campaign.
  • Fixed issue that would sometimes cause Abomination to become unresponsive in War Zones.
  • Reduced how often trapped Inhumans and SHIELD agents will ask for help.*
  • Companions will now help hold an area in War Zone missions during the code validation phase. Note: They still won’t activate the small code terminals to prevent them from accidentally messing with your progress.
  • Improvements to companion assistance when player needs to be revived.
  • Increased chances of a successful Parry from companions.
  • Fixed an issue where Thor & Iron Man companions would become stuck in hover.
  • Movement speed increased in Outposts when in Avengers Initiative.*
  • Remote faction terminals are now available in Outposts. These devices allow collection of Faction Assignments and Villain Sector bounties without the need to visit each Faction Coordinator in person.*
  • Removed requirement to purchase an item from Chastity McBride when visiting her for the first time.
  • Prevented the majority of cases of enemies getting stuck behind doors during missions. We are actively working to resolve the remaining bug triggers.
  • Fixed an issue with “destroy core” objectives in War Zone missions where players could complete steps out of order, thus halting objective progress.
  • Fixed a bug where the Elite Exo could teleport “out of the world”.
  • Renamed ‘Launch Mission’ button to ‘Ready Up’ while matchmaking in the Quinjet to make it clearer about the button’s function.*
  • Improved text clarity related to matchmaking options in the Quinjet.
  • Resolved an issue where players were unable to find a Strike Team as Selected Hero via Quick Match after naturally matchmaking for a previous mission.
  • Improved stability after the host has left a match.
  • Disabled pause in Quinjet to prevent loading issues.
  • Fixed a rare bug that caused Heroes to lock when invited directly from a Reassemble Campaign mission to a Strike Team.
  • Fixed an issue where requested companions would not despawn – resulting in duplicate heroes – when a player disconnected.
  • Strike Team integrity is kept intact when Reloading Checkpoint in Hives.
  • Players can now preview cosmetic vendor items.*
  • Tactical Awareness now stays on longer.*
  • Removed unnecessary shoot and punch tutorials.*
  • Fixed various localization issues in Arabic, Italian, and Polish.
  • Added Accessibility Menu to Settings for easy access to those options.
  • Added option to scale subtitle/closed caption text size.*
  • Closed Captions will no longer be automatically display in cinematics when Subtitles are displayed.*
  • Fixed issue that would cause some players to not be invulnerable immediately after reviving.
  • Fixed rare issue where Black Widow would lose Veil of Shadows buff shortly after triggering.
  • Fixed an issue with Iron Man where Counterfire would not always trigger after evading.
  • Tuning:
  • Improved Captain America’s melee combo flow.
  • Refactored the modifiers Fisticuffs & Torpedo to only buff the player, not enemies.
  • Tuned heroic drain inflicted by SPIN Drones.*
  • Tuned difficulty in “Alone Against AIM” mission.*
  • Tuned defensive effects of blue Overshield on enemies.
  • Tuned Cryo Adaptoid slam attack.*
  • Implemented a fix that will retroactively grant Iron Man’s iconic outfit for players who previously lost it due to a bug.
  • Fixed issue where Hero Challenge Card rewards were being scaled by difficulty.
  • Re-enabled skipping challenges from the Hero Challenge Card screen.
  • Fixed several issues with the tracking of various hero challenges.
  • Fixed an issue with Thor’s Grip of Fenrir’s Maw, where boosting didn’t properly unlock perk.
  • Extended pickup radius reward drops.*
  • Fixed several issues where deciphering rare patterns at the fabrication machine wouldn’t award a cosmetic item.
  • ‘Fractured’ Hulk skin is now properly unlocked and accessible in the outfits menu when awarded.
  • ‘Unbroken’ Hulk skin should no longer disappear from a player’s inventory after being awarded.
  • Fixed the appearance of both Talisman Artifacts in the Gear Menu.
  • Fixed an issue where one of Kamala’s gear pieces would drop an Iron Man perk.
  • Fixed the artifact perk “Bountiful” so it has a chance to trigger when opening strongboxes in the helicarrier during the Reassemble campaign.
  • Fixed an issue where DNA keys were not deducted from inventory when opening a DNA. strongbox while in Hulkbuster. This also prevents players form losing DNA keys after dying.
  • Reward Tuning:
  • Tuned some Exotic gear to be power level appropriate when earned.
  • Improved Mega Hive Rewards. They now are guaranteed to give two exclusive exotic gear items and an increased amounts of upgrade modules upon completion.*
  • Players will no longer occasionally get Power Level 1 Gear from Elite Hives.
  • Improved Exotic Gear Attributes.*
  • Improved reliability of Norn Stone perks that increased drop chance/added extra rewards to loot tables.

Xbox

  • Fixed an issue where the “Trying on Perfection” achievement was rewarding “Seeing Stars”.
  • Fixed an instance of the “Best Defense” Achievement not triggering properly.

PC

Note: Since launch, we are continuously making improvements to the game and will keep rolling out these patches. We are also actively working with NVIDIA on specific issues that some users have reported with performance degrading over time. With the latest 1.3.3 patch, we’ve added NVIDIA DLSS, which significantly improves framerate while maintaining high quality visuals for NVIDIA RTX hardware. We’ve also added DLSS support for ultra performance mode and Dynamic Resolution scaling.  More information about NVIDIA DLSS can be found here.

  • Added support for Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology.
  • Fixed problems with mouse & keyboard sprint, when set to hold to sprint option is enabled.
  • Fix for Thor and Captain America ranged abilities when using toggle to aim.

Same as before, Crystal Dynamics seems to be late in releasing the official patch notes. However, thanks to the Marvel’s Avengers Discord channel, we have a list of confirmed fixes and tweaks included in today’s Marvel’s Avengers patch!

  •  You can now sprint in the available outposts
  • Rarity text added for Marketplace items
  • Character menu has been re-arranged with a new empty space, most likely for Kate Bishop
  • Added a new in-game terminal that gives you access to faction quests, saving you time from visiting both outposts
  • More Marketplace items have been added on Xbox to match the PlayStation

PS4 8.00 Update Error Issues Reported With Error Code WS-44369-6

With today’s big PS4 firmware update, mass reports of issues from gamers are coming in about PS4 8.00 update error issues such as annoying bugs and slow downs for users who have updated their consoles.

Outside of the complaints of the party changes Sony has made, a mass Reddit thread on r/PS4 is being flooded with reports of users experiencing error code WS-44369-6 with the friends list being inaccessible along with party chat issues. Some users have found a workaround is by starting them up via the playing now feed for each game, or by manually searching for friends. In same thread (and 8.00 thread) people have also reported significantly slower performance and crashing, with another thread having users report that the PS4 is now taking longer to reset and turn-off. 

It’s not unusual for a PS4 update (or any kind of device/software updates) to have some issues during release, though this appears to be effecting a large amount of users that is higher than the usual amounts. For those who have yet to update, as of now the 8.00 update is optional at this time, though if you want to play any game with multiplayer you won’t be able to do so until you update. Store functionality, logging into PSN still work however. Currently, Sony’s official AskPlayStation support account has not acknowledged any PS4 8.00 update error issues, but if we do hear back, we’ll update the post.

The PS4 8.00 introduces a number of party related changes, which judging from the Reddit most aren’t too happy with. And while it’s been known that Sony may record party chat, this update also introduces a disclaimer for it that users don’t seem all happy with either. We’ve yet to hear on anything official from the company, so for the meantime if you haven’t updated we suggest you wait until issues have been resolved.

Warframe Update 1.91 October 14 Is the Heart of Deimos Interim 29.2.1 Patch

Console gamers (PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch), Digital Extremes has rolled out the Warframe update 1.91 October 14 patch, or what the studio calls the Heart of Deimos Interim 29.2.1 update! This includes everything from the PC hotfix 29.0.7 to 29.2.1!

Warframe will go from ~41 GB to ~22.6 GB after it has completed the automatic re-download of the game in its entirety. This will appear no different from any other update, business as usual! It will download in the background as is expected with all updates. This is part of the first steps we are taking towards the “ensmallening” on consoles that we’ve seen over on PC – more details in the official dev workshop here. Keep in mind the information in the workshop was specifically directed to PC users at the time, but the following quote is relevant to our efforts towards this specific remastering on PS4:

One of the things we’re doing to reduce our footprint involves changing how our texture data is compressed. Although it isn’t a perfect analogy it’s similar to the trade-off between image-quality and file-size you get with different image formats: PNG is lossless but can mean very large files, JPEG files can be very small but may contain visible artifacts of the compression. The technology we’re using is called Oodle Texture and we’re extremely pleased with the savings we’re getting: our files are roughly half the size on disk and the visual differences are negligible.

In this first update we’re going to change our Lightmaps. We spent a lot of time carefully analyzing the quality of the results and we doubt anyone will even notice anywhere but the harshest of tests.

More changes will come in stages, but for now we are starting with textures and lightmaps. Due to the remastering, Warframe will be re-downloaded in its entirety. This will appear no different from any other update, business as usual! It will download in the background as is expected with all updates.

Here are some things to keep in mind before the update goes live: 

  • You do NOT need to delete Warframe before the update.
  • You do NOT have to back-up your data before the update.
  • Your Warframe settings should be saved after the remaster launches, but we have run into issues in the past where they have – we apologize if this occurs!

CONSOLE SPECIFIC NOTES 

  • Controller Changes & Fixes:  
    • Fixed Necramech UI and regular weapon crosshair overlapping when attempting to access the Gear wheel via controller while in the Necramech.
    • Fixed inability to exit the Shawzin with a controller if a key binding is changed since Start then becomes unbound.
    • Fixed inability to quickly select the Secondary Emissive and Energy colors when attempting to customize Warframe/Weapon colour Appearance using the controller d-pad.
  • Note on TennoGen Round 19 Part 1 on consoles: While we included PC Update 29.2.1, the Round 19 Part 1 TennoGen items that launched with it will not be in this interim update. This is primarily due to there being a very small window of time between the Round’s release on PC (Oct 1st) and our planned Cert send off to transfer and test the items. This process can take some time so we are unable to give you a clear timeline for launch, but we will share more information once we are in the later and final stages of preparing the bundle(s). Thank you for your patience!

Xaku Round 1 Changes

Keeping within the realm of the “community-created Warframe” project, Xaku has received numerous changes based on your feedback! We welcome your feedback post launch in the official Dev Workshop.

We consider these changes “Round 1” with more to come in “Round 2” once that batch has been launched on PC to then bring over to Consoles via Cert. You can read more about Round 2 changes in its own official Dev Workshop here.

Xaku’s Passive: 

  • Including AOE damage reduction as part of Xaku’s Passive.
    • How it will work: AOE damage will simply take a 25% damage reduction (75% while The Vast Untime is active).
    • Currently, Xaku’s Passive provides a chance that incoming projectiles will fail to hit the warframe at all, instead going right through. But does not include any protection from enemy AOE damage. For example, if a Bombard shot a rocket at Xaku, the projectile itself would have a 25% chance to pass through them and deal no damage (75% with The Vast Untime), but the explosion following would have the full effect. With this change, Xaku’s Passive additionally grants them 25% damage reduction on the following AOE explosion from that rocket. That’s increased to 75% when Xaku is running around bare bones!

Xata’s Whisper:

  • We are making Void damage ‘True Neutral’ by removing the 50% resistance of Void damage on Cloned Flesh and Fossilized enemies – a long desired request for Void damage.
    • Currently, Void damage is relatively ineffective against Cloned Flesh and Fossilized enemies which greatly limits the use of Xata’s Whisper on Grineer and Infested enemies. In an effort to give it (and Void damage in general) more utility across enemy categories, we are removing this resistance so that it aligns with its neutral effectiveness against the other enemy types. It is important to note that Eidolons, Amalgams, and certain bosses will still maintain this resistance.

Grasp of Lohk:

  • Increasing the speed at which enemies are disarmed so that it occurs earlier in the casting animation. Also increasing the casting animation speed overall.
    • Currently, the point of when enemies are disarmed once Grasp of Lohk is cast is far too delayed.
  • Increased Grasp of Lohk’s disarming range from 8m to 15m.
    • Not to be confused with firing range, this increase allows a bigger berth for choosing victims to disarm with Grasp of Lohk.
  • Allowing Grasp of Lohk to be recast.
    • How it will work: Any existing Grasp of Lohk weapons will simply be replaced by the new cast up to the maximum amount of targets.
    • Currently, once Grasp of Lohk is cast, you are locked with the weapons that were grabbed until the end of the ability’s duration. This is obviously limiting if the ability was cast with undesired effect. To counteract this limitation, we are adding the option to recast with the added benefit of resetting the ability’s duration and disarming a new set of enemies where/when desired.
  • Increased the audible distance of Xaku’s weapon sounds in the Grasp of Lohk ability use.

The Lost: Deny

  • Adding synergy between Deny and Grasp of Lohk that increases Deny’s damage output.
    • How it will work: The number of weapons orbiting Xaku from Grasp of Lohk act as a damage multiplier for Deny’s Void beam. For example: If you have 4 weapons orbiting Xaku, Deny’s damage will be granted a 5x multiplier.
  • Increasing the casting speed of Deny.
    • More firepower… faster!

The Vast Untime:

  • Removing the Energy drain and keeping it a duration based ability.
    • Currently, the Energy drain on top of its casting cost and duration is far too restrictive and punishing.
  • Adding Synergy between The Vast Untime and all of Xaku’s other abilities.
    • How it will work: Emphasis on “Untime”, when Xaku is in their skeletal form their other active abilities’ duration will become frozen in time. Once The Vast Untime expires, the duration of those active abilities resume. This was suggested in our feedback readings and we quite enjoyed the play on the ‘untime’ theme and the added benefit to Xaku overall! We feel that since this no longer has an Energy drain, and that it halts the timer on other abilities, the energy demands of Xaku’s kit will be significantly lessened.
      • Note: This will not apply to Helminth abilities and abilities from other Warframes from Helminth subsuming.

Xaku Fixes:

  • Fixed Deny having poor hit detection on ragdolled or suspended enemies.
  • Fixed targets affected by Accuse have inconsistent hit detection based on weapon type (beam, bolt, etc).
  • Fixed a case of dealing self damage via Xata’s Whisper.
  • Fixed Xaku’s base slow of The Vast Untime being 50% instead of intended 15% at Level 2. As reported here!
  • Fixed Xaku’s Grasp of Lohk ability targeting phantom enemies in the Ambulas boss fight.

Marked for Death Changes:

A bit of history on the Marked for Death changes that occured on PC is necessary to fully understand where it stands now on PS4:

Post-Heart of Deimos launch:

With Marked for Death out in the wild and being experimented, it was apparent to not be working as intended by overwhelmingly nuking enemies left, right, and center when combined with certain loadouts and due to certain bugs. To fully understand the intent of changes below, let’s revisit what the ‘Marked for Death’ Helminth Infusion is: Stun an enemy; a portion of the next damage you deal to it will be dealt to all enemies around it.

It’s important to note that the description mentions ‘a portion of the next damage’, which was always our intent, meaning changes and fixes were made to address. We also recognized that the players who brought this forward also had the understanding that it needed to be addressed. So with that in mind, we proceeded with the following Marked for Death changes that went live with PC’s Update 29.1.0 and are now live on PS4 with this update:

  • Fixed Mods applying twice to the Marked for Death Damage portion dealt in the AOE.
  • Fixed base Damage using the Health/Shield Damage dealt and not capped at the Health+Shield the target had prior (e.g. enemy with 5 Health gets hit by 100 damage, and 100 damage is shared in AOE. It should just be the 5).
    • Radial damage was never meant to exceed the target’s Health and this was our bad. The desired strategy we wanted was players prioritizing tank units like Heavy Gunners to do AOE clears since heavy units have more Health than normal, thus the radial AOE would likely be lethal, not just normal units. This issue combined with numerous bugs of Mods stacking meant this was way over powered. A key part of reviewing these changes will be ensuring that players understand the best case scenario we envision for the power is targeting high-Health enemies to do radial damage to weaker enemies. 
  • Removed Critical Chance from Marked for Death radial AOE.
  • Capped Damage multiplier stat to 75% and normalized Damage type mults.
    • Here’s an example of normalized Damage type: if the Damage you deal is 0.5 Impact, 0.4 Slash, 0.3 Heat that sums to 1.2x but after normalizing they become 0.42 Impact, 0.33 Slash, 0.25 Heat.
  • Fixed Marked for Death with Arcane Trickery equipped triggering invisibility almost every time, because each enemy hit by the AoE has its own 15% chance to activate Arcane Trickery.

Post-PC Update 29.1.0: 

We posted our Dev Workshop explaining what had occurred with Marked for Death (which you can read here for full details). Quick summary: Based on community feedback and our own testing, we realized that the hammer was swung too hard on the changes in Update 29.1.0 – (compounded by the major fixes). The scenario we had re-balanced Marked For Death around was too rare to be useful and satisfying. We knew that the conversation was not over on Marked For Death, and we committed to taking another look to hopefully restore balance to this ability. So:

We changed Marked for Death to start its base damage at 75%, which will cap at 150% with Mods.  Since the ‘Damage Type In = Damage Type Out’, this will scale well with certain damage types, specifically ones with DOTS s which is what we envision. 

The above change was launched with PC Update 29.2.0, which we grabbed for this interim update. Meaning that the base damage increase changes are indeed live!
Necramech Changes & Fixes:

  • Necramech’s can no longer interact with Ramparts or hack Alarm Towers in the Plains of Eidolon.
    • This fixes a functionality loss when interacting with a Rampart while in a Necramech and hacking issues specifically with the Plains Alarm Tower.
  • We have adjusted the Necramech Drop tables to have a mix of Mods in the Necraloid Syndicate as well as on Necramechs outright.
  • Removed Necramech Vitality, Refuel, Necramech Intensify, and Necramech Pressure Point from Necramech Drops and moved to Loid’s Necraloid Offerings for Standing. warframe.com/droptables has been updated!
  • Currently there is a 3 minute cooldown on every use of the Necramech Summon Gear item. We’ve changed the cooldown behavior of the Necramech Summon to reflect the following:
    • If the player’s Necramech is still active, then the Necramech Summon only has a 10 second cooldown. Summoning it this way will move the Necramech to the player’s desired position but NOT restore its Health/Shields/Energy.
    • If the player’s Necramech has been destroyed, then the Necramech Summon has a 3 minute cooldown, and will have its Health/Shields/Energy refilled on summon.
  • Reduced the Necramech’s Shocking Iron ability sound loop.
  • Changed ‘Necramech Deflection’ Mod name to ‘Necramech Redirection’ since we use Redirection for Max Shield Mods.
  • Fixed summoned Necramech’s not having their Modded values when summoned again after dying.
    • This was an issue before the cooldown changes.
  • Fixed summoned Client Necramech’s having 0 Energy when summoned again after dying.
    • This was an issue before the cooldown changes.
  • Fixed rare case of a player’s Warframe ceasing to exist after Transferring into a Necramech, resulting in an inability to Transference back into your Warframe.
  • Fixed personal Necramech losing all functionality after Transferring into a fallen Necramech and then summoning your own Necramech.
  • Fixed ability to interrupt the Necramech ground slam attack with another ground slam attack or normal melee attack.
  • Fixed Client Necramech’s appearing to run in place after Transferring out of the Necramech with forward momentum.
  • Fixed the Necramech appearing crushed around an Excalibur when viewed via Look Link or Mod Link.
  • Fixed the Necramech model clipping/overlapping with the Upgrade screen when accessed in a Hub/Town.
  • Fixed Necramech weapon appearing blurry after Transferring into a summoned Necramech before the weapon opening animation finishes.
  • Fixed becoming stuck mid-Transference when attempting to exit your Necramech while going through Deck 12 in Orb Vallis.
  • Fixed inability to Operator Void Dash after getting nullified by a Necramech during the Isolation Vault Bounty.
  • Fixed ability to bypass the Plains of Eidolon and Cambion Drift perimeters with a Necramech. This also fixes the ability to summon a Necramech when out of bounds.
  • Fixed ability to ignore teleport volumes and walk along lake-beds with the Necramech by keeping constant forward momentum in the Plains of Eidolon.
  • Fixed the Host Necramech UI getting overlapped if a Client squadmate exits their Necramech.
  • Fixes towards blank ‘Mission Progress’ screen when viewed while in a Necramech.
    • Still some issues with going from Warframe > Operator > then to Necramech.
  • Fixed fallen Necramech’s Guard Mode ability not functioning, and instead just draining Energy.
  • Fixed recolouring the Arquebex changing colours of attached Necramech in preview.
  • Fixed applying Forma to the Necramech Arquebex not showing the Polarity right away until you relog.
  • Fixed inability to purchase additional Config Slots for Necramech and Arquebex.
  • Fixed Arquebex model not displaying properly when viewed via Look Link or Mod Link.
  • Fixed the Arquebex having an unintended 9th Mod Slot.
    • Any Polarizations done to this now removed 9th Mod Slot have been transferred over to a free universal (blank) Mod Slot upon login of this Update. In the very rare case of having Polarized the 9th Mod Slot to be universal (blank), the Forma is refunded.
  • Fixed Client Necramech’s not retaining their gained XP if you left the Necramech before you entered the gate/area to return to Town.
  • Fixed friendly Necramech nullification disabling Warframe Invisibility and Banish abilities.
  • Fixed fallen Necramech’s on Cambion Drift being Rank 0 for Clients.
  • Fixed ability to install an Umbra Forma on a Necramech. No need for this as no Umbra Necramech Mods exist!
  • Fixed Necramech Ammo regeneration speed not changing per weapon equipped.
  • Fixed inability to swap the 9th Necramech Mod Slot Polarity due to the UI thinking it’s an Aura.
  • Fixed ability to enter a closed Isolation Vault via Necramech without getting teleported out. Included in this are fixes towards preventing Summoning the Necramech outside valid boundaries.
  • Fixed a script error when viewing the Necramech Embellishments without owning a Necramech.
  • Fixed a crash when casting the Necramech’s Storm Shroud ability.
  • Fixed a crash when casting the Necramech’s Necraweb ability.

Sepulcrum Changes & Fixes:

  • Decreased the unguided flight time of the Alt Fire on launch from 0.06s to 0.03secs.
  • Decreased the unguided flight time of the Alt Fire smoothing from 1s to 0.4secs.
    • This makes the Alt Fire projectile start to hone in on their targets faster and curve more acutely towards them.
  • Decreased Alt Fire re-arming delay from 0.2s to 0.01secs.
    • This decreases the time between being able to lock onto additional targets after the first.
  • Increased max lock distance from 60m to 80m.
  • Increased loose lock distance from 80m to 100m.
    • This increases the distance you can lock onto targets with Alt Fire from 60m to 80m, and lock won’t be lost unless the targets move beyond 100m.
  • Fixed cases of the Sepulcrum Alt Fire not properly targeting enemies.

  • Please Note: If you met the criteria above when we accidentally ran the script on consoles and received an Inbox message with broken file paths and the resources, congrats! You got the grab bag early and have hopefully been enjoying your new Helminth snacks before this script was intended to run. A PSA was posted to explain the above and to inform that we will indeed be running the script again for the accounts that meet the criteria. Essentially, those who did not meet the criteria at the time that the first script was completed (Tuesday, September 29th at 4:35 PM ET), will receive the grab bag of resources in a script that will run once the update is live. Those who already received it in the first run will not get a second one.

Bile:

To give players more options for the Bile Secretion, we are adding the following components as feedable to Helminth to create Bile:

  • Antiserum Fragment x 900
  • Javlok Capacitor x 7
  • Nav Coordinates x 65*

General Helminth Changes & Fixes:

  • Helminth now shows you a locked status when you sit in the chair with a Warframe whose ability you’ve already Subsumed (stops player confusion).
  • Added Helminth Ability videos on hover of the respective abilities.
  • Disabled Ordis Transmissions while in the Helminth screen. Our trusty Cephalon must be shielded from this room.
  • There is now an ‘Incomplete’ tab on the Helminth to show you which abilities you have not Subsumed.
  • Fixed rare case of getting forced-logged out of Warframe when attempting to Subsume a Warframe to the Helminth under poor Network conditions. As reported here.
  • Fixed losing weapon functionality if Octavia had Shooting Gallery (Mesa Subsume) active and casted one of her other abilities.
  • Fixed getting stuck in an inescapable UI loop when attempting to Rename Helminth from the specific console (just inside the door) if you try to submit an invalid name.
  • Fixed losing weapon functionality when casting Resonator on a Warframe other than Octavia (Subsumed).
  • Fixed getting double prompted to Rush a Subsume if you rejected the first prompt and then went to Feed the Helminth.
  • Fixed being able to fire your weapon during Undertow or Danse Macabre if active while certain abilities inherited from Helminth expire.
  • Fixed Atlas’ Rumblers no longer Petrifying enemies in radius when casting Rumblers if you replace the Petrify ability via Subsumed ability.
  • Fixed a crash when hovering over the Roar ability in the Upgrade screen on a Hildryn which had Balefire replaced by Roar via Helminth.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when sitting in the Helminth chair with poor connection quality.
  • Fixed Infested Mobility buff effects never ending when under Rank 3.
  • Fixed Infested Mobility not being affected by Strength like the Arsenal stat screen claims.
  • Fixed Infusing a new ability via the Helminth to Config D, E, or F not showing the ability has been applied until the player loads into a mission.
  • Fixed Titania’s Tribute HUD not working if Razorwing was overwritten via Helminth.
  • Fixed rare case of the UI showing that you have the exact Secretion % required but won’t let you perform the action. This was due to rounding values in the back end that aren’t visible in the UI.
  • Fixed missing check mark beside recently earned Helminth Rank until you close and re-open the Helminth interface.
  • Fixed Helminth ability ‘Perspicacity’ not functioning after using a Cipher or manual Hack. As reported here!
  • Fixed an issue with the sound of casting Roar on a Warframe that has the ability Infused.
  • Fixed the Ability screen not updating after using Helminth until you go into a mission or use the Arsenal.
  • Fixed ability to purchase multiple unnecessary copies of the Helminth Segment.
  • Fixed an issue where Warframes would flicker if you stayed in the Orbiter while they completed their Subsume and queued another.
  • Fixed the interaction of Limbo’s Cataclysm and Tesla Nervos (via Helminth Subsumed) dealing more than the normal amount of damage.

Deimos Bounty Changes & Fixes:

  • Scintillant in the ‘Common’ tier of a Deimos Bounty now has correct rarity weights within that tier. Previously it was applying it’s ‘Rare’ tier drop chance within the ‘Common’ tier – it is now a ~18% drop chance.
  • Fixed issues with the Purify Deimos Bounty, where the ‘samples’ UI will decrease from 35-15 when a Host migrates. However, the collected amount doesn’t reflect this switch and will be greater than the UI limit indicates.
  • Fixed Garv and his Grineer hooligans not de-spawning after doing a Bounty such as Anomaly Retrieval or Core Samples. This results in multiple Garv’s in the Cambion Drift when doing back to back Bounties.
  • Fixed another case of Deimos Bounty Bonus objective UI appearing in a different language. As reported here!
  • Fixed the Isolation Bounty objective not properly updating upon the second Vault’s completion.
  • Fixed T5 Bounty Rewards on Deimos sometimes giving lower Mother Tokens than T4 Bounties.
  • Fixed an issue where the Vault extraction marker can appear above ground after finishing a Vault Bounty.
  • Fixed continued issues with Steel Path Deimos Bounty rewards not issuing the correct amount of Mother Tokens.
  • Fixed a matchmaking exploit related to Isolation Vaults.
  • Fixed Clients always hitting a fade-to-black teleport volume when entering the Isolation Vault.
  • Fixed some Client players seeing the same identical Fass symbol on the Isolation Vault doors.
  • Fixed Isolation Vault Esophage waypoint lingering after having left the Vault.
  • Fixed Clients unable to re-activate the Bait Station if the Bait is lost during an Isolation Vault Bounty.
  • Fixed ability to grab numerous Concoctions if all squadmates trigger the context action at the same time during an Isolation Vault Bounty.

Infested Companion Fixes:

  • Fixed many cases where the Sly Vulpaphyla wouldn’t respect cooldowns, would fail to trigger, or would result in Client FX not getting cleaned up.
  • Fixed inability to swap Polarities via Forma on Infested Companions.
  • Fixed the name of newly Gilded Infested Companions not appearing in the Arsenal.

Conservation Changes & Fixes:

  • An accumulation of Community and Developer feedback have brought forth a handful of Avichea changes and fixes:
    • A marker will now appear when spotting Conservation scat through the Tranq rifle scope or if a Lure is equipped.
    • Avicheas now correctly fly in circles around the spawn call area once they reach it instead of hovering directly above it, sometimes widely out of range.
      • This brings Avicheas in line with other flying animals like the Sawgaw, where they fly closer to the call point and land near it. 
    • Diversified ambient Avichea encounters so that they can either be encountered flying around an area or low down perched on the ground.
      • Previously ambient Avicheas were only found flying high in the sky, which could easily be missed to the busy eyes. 
    • Increased the spawn chances of ambient Avichea encounters.
    • Improvements towards Avichea animations.
      • This also fixes cases of ambiently spawned Avichea’s ‘slowly ascending to the heavens’.
    • Fixed Avicheas (and Mergoos) not flying away when gunfire is nearby.
      • Birds do as birds do – Warframe ain’t no different! Being stealthy is key for catching these animals.
  • Updated Deimos Mutagen and Antigen descriptions to indicate which animal they are designated for (Predasite vs Vulpaphyla).
  • Fixed some Conservation trail start points appearing under the endocrine goo in the Cambion Drift.
  • Fixed inability to move, shoot, switch weapons or use Warframe abilities after hitting a dissolving corpse with the Infested Ebisu or Spari Spear whilst fishing.
  • Potential fix towards a script error caused by Sly Vulpaphyla Survival Instinct triggering.
  • Fixed the default icons for Mutagen and Antigen samples in the Predasite/Vulpaphyla Revivification menu (Son at Necralisk) being swapped.

Fishing Changes & Fixes:

  • Improved spawn rate of Fish in the Cambion Drift to be closer to past Free Roam behaviour. You should generally have a maximum time between fish of ~15 seconds instead of ~50 seconds.
    • We welcome your feedback if even further changes are needed! 
  • Reduced the number of Fish parts required per Daughter Exocrine Assignment from 3 down to 2. This brings Daughters economy in line with Son, where the max number of requested parts is 2.
  • Fixed Cambion Drift Fish spawning in the same spot over and over if you didn’t move.
  • Fixed throwing your Fishing Spear into Mag’s Magnetize can lead to temporary or complete loss of functionality.
  • Fixed some jittery hands animations that play throughout the Fishing Spear throw+recall sequence.
  • Fixed Fish Bait falling through the water in the cave during ‘Fish For Clues Phase 1 of the Profit-Taker Heist.
  • Fixed a case where Clients might take out the Fishing Spear but not be able to catch Fish.
  • Fixed a script error when Fishing in a Free Roam mission and a Host migration occurred.
  • Fixed a script error when leaving Orb Vallis or Plains of Eidolon when you never took out the Fishing spear.
  • Fixed a script error when equipping the Fishing Spear in a non-Fishing mission.

  • Fixed memory leak in UI system that could cause a crash when chilling in the Helminth chair.

General Weapon Changes:

  • Trumna
    • Removed Punch Through on the Trumna Alt Fire projectile.
      • The main feature of the Alt Fire is the radial attack on each bounce, and Punch Through can make it disappear through geometry. Disabling on the projectile only allows Punch Through to be used with the Primary Fire without affecting the Alt Fire.
  • Quassus
    • Increased Heavy Attack projectiles from 35 to 76
      • Also fixed Quassus Heavy Attack projectiles being slowed down to 15% of their original speed after punching through an enemy.
  • Reduced horizontal spread of projectiles
    • Quassus throws 12 projectiles with a pretty wide horizontal spread, spreading the Damage across multiple targets. Individual damage was not where we wanted it. Increasing it over 100%, narrowing the spread and making sure it will hit additional targets after passing through, increases its lethality to intended levels.
  • Zymos
    • Decreased projectile spread of Multishot projectiles
    • Increased projectile speed from 59 to 79
      • Decreasing spread from Multishot and increasing the projectile speed makes landing headshots with all the projectiles a bit easier.

Character Shader Changes:
We have made significant enhancements to probe-based lighting. The results of this are dynamic objects receive better quality lighting, and metals are more responsive. Additionally, objects should now look more grounded in their environments.

General Changes:

  • Removed the Gas Status Effect from the Deimos Jugulus shooting bone glaives.
    • The Gas Status Effect was unintended – should only be administering Slash.
  • Reduced drop chance of Pherliac Pods Blueprint for Deimos Juggernaut to 5%.
  • The ‘Awakening’ cinematic now supports translated subtitles.
  • Added Ether Daggers to Simaris’ Offerings for players who might have sold theirs.
  • Improvements towards Operator eye textures and shading to look less flat. Look, look with your special eyes!

  • Blueprints and Entrati Tokens will now appear closer to the top of the End of Mission Reward section when ordered by ‘Importance’, instead of being buried under Mods and Resources.
  • General polish and cleanup of sounds in the Arsenal to remove unintended sounds.
  • Respective Rifle/Shotgun Skins can now be equipped on Primary Kitguns – including Deluxe Shotgun Skins!
    • Tombfinger and Rattleguts are Rifles, and Catchmoon is a Shotgun. (Gaze is neither as it’s classified as a Beam weapon)
    • Isolation Vault reward tables have been added to warframe.com/droptables!

Fixes:

  • Fixed Ash’s Shuriken not being affected by Ability Strength, as reported here.
  • Fixed missing Standing icon when viewing the eidolon Hunt Bounty with Konzu.
  • Fixed screens overlapping when purchasing a Glyph.
  • Fixed an issue where the “swap polarity” functionality would be broken on weapons that had only ever done no-op Polarizations.
  • Fixed the Quassus leaving you “unarmed” after using heavy attacks.
  • Fixed a section in the Ustara Crater within the Orb Vallis that resulted in your Warframe turning invisible, the minimap changing, and enemies not attacking you.
  • Fixed a spot in the Grineer Sealab tileset where enemies struggled to jump down a hole as a team, which resulted in AFK farming.
  • Fixed camera clipping near the gates to Cetus in the Plains of Eidolon.
  • Fixed some badly lit and set doors in the Orokin Derelicts.
  • Fixed Clem and other friendly NPCs sometimes spawning in the ceiling.
  • Fixed camera alignment issues when opening the Arsenal as the Operator in a Town/Relay.
  • Fixed default Pet being shown for a quick second when swapping Pets quickly in the Arsenal.
  • Fixed dark spots in the Corpus OutPost skybox.
  • Fixed slight text overlap in the Eidolon Hunt Bounty objective UI.
  • Fixed Assault missions not failing when the timer runs out.
  • Fixed issues with hybrid Companions appearing in the Market when viewing certain items.
  • Fixed some Look Link issues and diorama issues with the new Companions (mismatching tails, for example).

  • Fixed Antigen recipes having underlapping text in the Foundry.
  • Fixed many weapon Components having ill fitting text in the Foundry.
  • Fixed an issue where deploying a Desert Skate does not remove the prior deployed Desert Skate.
  • Fixed the Corinth Prime Blueprint using the wrong icon for the Corinth Prime Stock.
  • Fixed the Exploiter Orb spawning underground as reported here.
  • Fixed an issue where pausing during extraction can lead to issues as reported here.
  • Fixed several high priority chat issues relating to loss of functionality.
  • Fixed inability to log into Warframe if you didn’t own a Kubrow Companion.
  • Fixes towards Exalted weapons not being equipped when viewed via Look Link or Mod Link.
  • Fixed a Revenant functionality loss if Reave is cast on an enemy who is both Enthralled and Blood Altared.
  • Fixed a crash when attempting to return to the Necralisk while a Corpus Survivors encounter activates.
  • Fixed a crash if a Host migration occurred during a K-Drive race.
  • Fixed a crash when encountering a Rescue objective in the Plains of Eidolon.
  • Fixes towards a crash that occurred when a Treasurer spawned during a Corpus Ship Defense mission
  • Fixes towards a crash that could occur in a Survival mission when choosing to return to the Orbiter.
  • Fixed numerous bugs that could occur after a Host migration, including starting on a Free Roam mission, Host-migrating, returning to Town/Hub, and then returning to the Free Roam landscape.
  • Fixed cases of Revenant’s Reave hitting ragdolled enemies multiple times in rapid succession, potentially insta-killing them.
  • Added Developer Note: To get into specifics, once an enemy was ragdolled you actually hit their proxies, and each AI has a dozenish or so proxies, you get healed for each hit, easily making it a full heal and instakill for each ragdolled enemy. So you were getting ’12’ for the price of ‘1’ enemy, which is clearly unintended.
  • Fixed Heavy Gunners unintentionally having almost triple their Armor since Heart of Deimos. This change accidently occurred when changing Garv’s Armor value as they use the same back end. As reported here!
  • Fixed Wyrm Residue not surviving a Host migration.
  • Fixed inability to Trade “Trapezium Xenorhast” and “Cabochon Embolos”.
  • Fixed ragdolling enemies not taking additional Slash Status from being hit while debuffed by Garuda’s Seeking Talons.
  • Fixed enemies able to apply hostile Status Effects through Mag’s “held” variant of Magnetize despite the projectiles never actually reaching you.
  • Fixed Deimos Carnis and Deimos Carnis Rex not awarding kill Affinity.
  • Fixed stacking Deimos Saxum FX for Clients – should be easier to see around these boys now!
  • Fixed missing Phaedra Magazine when used as a Heavy Weapon.
  • Fixed Ivara’s Concentrated Arrow Augment not disabling Multishot when used in the Simulacrum or viewed in the Arsenal.
  • Fixed Nora Night Transmission having too much visual noise.
  • Fixed a case where Latrox Une wouldn’t spawn if Garv’s encounter happened before it, and Garv was still around.
  • Fixed inability to progress past the first mission of Saya’s Vigil Quest when replaying it.
  • Fixed parts of the HUD breaking after attempting to open the main menu during a ‘Mission Complete’ animation (going from Free Roam to Town/Hub). As reported here!
  • Fixed ability to clip through wall meshes via Operator Transference.
  • Fixes towards players unable to launch Archwing after multiple Transference activations.
  • Fixed certain Warframe abilities (Mesa’s Shattered Shield, Mag’s Magnetize) that create reflecting bullets counting towards hits that increase the Hata-Satya Critical Chance buff. Only hits performed by Soma Prime should increase the Hata-Satya Critical Chance buff.
  • Fixed Smeeta Kavat’s Mischief ability, Carnis Mod Set bonus, and Survival Instinct modifying evasion incorrectly, and instead acting as a debuff as opposed to the proper buff.
  • Fixed Limbo not gaining Energy from enemies killed in the Rift.
  • Fixed spot-loading when previewing Revivification combinations with Son in the Necralisk.
  • Fixed certain Excavation spawns not scaling in level with the rest of the enemies.
  • Fixed Mining, Fishing or Conservation marking the Free Roam node as completed before the Bounty is done.
  • Fixed Scan Aquatic Lifeforms Mod sometimes not revealing fish on Orb Vallis and Plains of Eidolon. As reported here!
  • Fixed cases where the Hata-Satya Mod HUD buff may remain on screen, and not resetting if you enter bleedout in the middle of a casting animation.
  • Fixed missing the Entrati Rank up cutscene if you opened the pause menu right before the cutscene starts.
  • Fixed Parvos Granum appearing visually blown out in some cases.
  • Fixed Hydroid’s Relay Captura Scene having too many NPCs.

  • For example, Jugulus Carapace now reads: Slam attacks manifest Tendrils to lash enemies within 3m stunning them for 3s and dealing 25 Puncture damage. Cooldown 12s”.

Apex Legends Nintendo Switch Version Rated by ESRB

While EA has already announced it earlier this June, it seems we’ll be getting a release date announcement soon for the Apex Legends Nintendo Switch version, as the ESRB rating for the game is now up!

The ESRB (Entertainment Software Ratings Board) has the game listed as “T” for Teen, which isn’t surprising. Check out the screenshot and ratings summary below.

Rating Summary
This is a first-person shooter in which players engage in squad-based battle royale-style combat across a large island. Players search for supplies and use machine guns, rifles, and explosives to shoot and kill enemies as the play area constantly shrinks. Frenetic firefights are accompanied by blood-splatter effects, realistic gunfire, and large explosions. Players can also perform various finishing moves on weakened enemies (e.g., stabbing them with a knife; beating opponents down with fists; electrocuting characters). These attacks are often depicted close-up and/or from the victim’s perspective.

Hopefully, the Apex Legends Nintendo Switch version will be updated the same time as the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions. Speaking of which, head on over here to see the fixes made in the latest Apex Legends patch released this week.

Report: Demon’s Souls Digital Soundtrack Coming to PS4

Amidst the rumors of Demon’s Souls (remake) coming to the PS4, a recently uploaded PSN file has been confirmed in the very least, that the Demon’s Souls digital soundtrack is coming to thje PS4.

As spotted on Orbis Patches, a tracking site that keeps track of PS4 patches as they get uploaded to the PSN servers, four new regional files (USA, EU, Japan, Asia) have received a new 1.01 update. Upon further examinations of these files, the changelog has fixes marked for bugs with the file name being “Demon’s Souls Original Soundtrack”.

As it currently stands, the digital deluxe edition of Demon’s Souls for PS5 will be releasing with a digital OST for the game. With the file appearing above, chances may be that the OST may be cross compatible, thus the reason why there’s a file for the PS4 version rather than a dedicated PS5 one, which there might still be one. Again no further details are provided outside of their regional support and file names.

Our thoughts? We think it makes sense if the OST was cross0gen, considering it’s only a minor application. By no means does this support that a PS4 version of Demon’s Souls will be launching by any means, it just means that it’s luckily that Sony will be using a PS4 built client for the PS5 that should be supported on PS4. Of course we will have to wait for any official statement from Sony on the matter. 

Demon’s Souls Remake is scheduled to release exclusively for the PS5 on November 12.

Nioh 2 Update 1.17 October 14 Patch Brings the “Darkness in the Capital” Data (Update)

Team Ninja has rolled out the Nioh 2 update 1.17 October 14 patch, and this is primarily for the previously announced “Darkness in the Capital” premium DLC that’s set to become available tomorrow, October 15! Check out the details below.

New story “Ushiwaka Senki”

Rogues, First Watch Games is taking the servers offline today, and that’s to release the Rogue Company update 1.35 October 14 patch, which brings the “Secret Identity” that brings the Player Profile feature and lots more! Head on below for the patch notes.

With this week’s update, you’ll no longer have a Secret Identity with our new Profile feature! You’ll have options to spice up your Profile with avatars, banners, and borders many of which can be earned through the recently introduced Rogue Mastery system!

In addition to the Player Identity system, you’ll note a number of balance changes including the retirement of Sixth Sense, SMG adjustments, and others. Check out the details below

Player Identity

With the new Player Identity System, players can now customize their profile screen with a variety of options to fit their favorite Rogue or play style! Collect unique rewards from each Rogue Mastery and display them or mix and match your favorites.

Avatars:

Appearing to the left side of your Profile, select your favorite Rogue Mastery Reward or other available option.

Banner:

Select an available banner to show it on the right side of your Profile.

Border:

You can also select a unique Border which will appear around the Banner.

New Avatars

We’re expanding the collection of pre-set avatars for players to showcase on their Profile. An array of new avatars from your favorite games will be available, including Bloodborne, Journey, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, The Last of Us Part II, The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and many more.

Mute all Mics from Quick Menu

We’ve added an option to “Mute all Microphones” in the Quick Menu, so you can easily mute your mics while gaming.

Simplified and more flexible Parental Controls

Under Parental Controls, we’re combining the ‘Communicating with Other Players’ and ‘Viewing Content Created by other Players’ into one setting – ‘Communication and User Generated Content’-  to cover both areas of communication and UGC sharing. This offers a simpler setting that’s easier for parents to understand and apply to their children.

 In addition, children can send a request to their parents to use communications features in specific games. When a child sends this request, the parent will receive an email notification and can choose to make an exception for that game and allow the child to use its communications and UGC features. This will provide more flexibility to both parents and children.

Enhanced 2-Step Verification

The 2-Step Verification (2SV) feature on PS4 will be enhanced to support third party authenticator apps as an option during the activation flow and 2SV sign-in across PS4, mobile and web.

Removal of Event Creation and Private Community Creation

After 8.00, you will no longer be able to create Events or access existing Events created by other users.

We’re also removing the ability to create private Communities under the Community app on PS4. If you already have existing private Communities, you can continue to access them.

Updates to Remote Play App on Mobile and PC

At the same time as 8.00, the existing PS4 Remote Play app on mobile (iOS/Android), Windows PC and Mac, will change its name to PS Remote Play, and the option to connect to PS5 will be added. You’ll need to sign in to PSN from your PS5 to be able to access the feature, so sit tight until PS5 launches this November!

It’s finally live! While gamers on PS4 were given the chance to pre-load it a few days ago, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone update today October 14 patch is now live on all platforms, and this brings the game to version 1.28.

Head on below for the full patch notes! PC gamers, you’ll now able to pick and choose which component of the game you want to install to save on HDD space.

Modern Warfare & Warzone Update Today October 14 Patch Notes:

New in this update, PC players can now select which content they’d like installed on their machines. Instructions on how to install specific content below!

  1. Before removing installed content, be sure your Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game is not running, and the game is not updating.
  2. 1. Open the Battle.net Launcher.
  3. 2. Select Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from the panel on the left.
  4. 3. Select the Options menu on the upper lefthand portion of the Battle.net Launcher.
  5. 4. Select Modify Install to open the installation popup.
  6. 5. Under Game Content, select Modify Install.
  7. 6. Uncheck the content you wish to uninstall. (Warzone cannot be uninstalled.)

New Wasteland 3 Update 1.09 (1.1.2) Brings Faster Loads & Better Performance

Released last week for PC, Wasteland 3 update 1.09 has begun rolling out across consoles, bringing with it more bug fixes and improved load times. Head on below for the complete patch notes.

Highlights

  • Do you hate long load times? We hate long load times. Our engineers changed how the game loads levels, reducing load times by up to 60% on PC and 25% on console.

– As one example, on our PC test hardware a 38 second load time was reduced to 13 seconds.

  • Fixed an issue where combat could become unresponsive with use of the Chain Ambush Perk for sniper rifles.

  • Resolved several progression blocking issues in Yuma County Speedway.

  • Enemies are now much less invisible after use of Precision Strike.

Performance & Stability

  • Significantly changed how levels load, resulting in up to 60% faster load speeds across the game on PC, and on average 25% faster for consoles.

– Note: your hardware, save data, and which level you’re loading into can all impact load times. Your mileage may of course vary.

– As part of this change, auto-saves will no longer occur as a part of the level load, and instead happen concurrently. This can lead to situations where you’ve loaded into the next scene but an auto-save is still in-progress. Don’t close the game while the Ranger star is spinning.

  • Major Prasad will no longer crash your game if you exit while she’s still talking.

  • Additional stability and performance improvements for consoles that were too technical for the person writing these patch notes to understand and explain easily. It’s good stuff though. All good stuff.

– We’ll be continuing to target and resolve specific stability issues as necessary.

Co-op

  • Players can no longer attack companions that are in the process of being recruited by the other player, in case your partner likes to troll.

  • Fixed an issue where the Guest client could become unresponsive when talking with Hope Emerson and choosing to side with Del Hackett and her people.

  • Improved stability while in the Hire Companion screen.

  • Players can now use the keyboard in the lobby screen to choose game type, options, invite player, and ready up.

  • Enabled UI Narration in the Direct Connection interface and for multiplayer game messages sent through chat.

  • Fixed an issue with voice chat text-to-speech and speech-to-text.

  • [Microsoft Store] Resolved an issue where guests couldn’t rejoin a lobby they’d just left.

Quests & Gameplay

  • Resolved an issue where quirks could become unselectable during character creation.

  • Fixed a potential blocker with Medical Marvel not allowing revival without use of a Nitro Spike.

  • Resolved a rare issue that would block you from speaking to a companion.

  • The door in Yuma County Speedway leading to Liberty is now unbreakable as intended.

Misc.

  • Fixed minor graphical issue with the radio.

  • Some cinematic characters have been given microdermabrasion treatments and now have better looking skin.

  • Skill levels for recruitable characters now display properly in all cases.

  • Mission status should no longer display incorrectly after quest completion or updates.

  • Resolved issue where the spinning Ranger Star would permanently stay on screen after saving the game.

Deployed as a pre-load earlier this week for PS4 owners, Modern Warfare & Warzone Update 1.28 for October 13 patch notes are finally live. Note that the actual patch should be out at 11 p.m. PDT/2 a.m. EDT/2 p.m. HKT.

Street Fighter 5 Update 3.04 Brawls Out (Update)

Street Fighter 5 update 3.04 has begun rolling during the planned server maintenance. Head on below for the full patch notes released by Capcom. Players are getting a new spectator mode feature, new costumes and more.

Street Fighter 5 Update 3.04 Patch Notes:

■Network Adjustments

1. As of the 2/19/2020 update, game lag would be synced during matches.
Steps have been taken to mitigate one-sided rollback, but if the connection between both players is unstable,
synchronization during temporary network delays could result in frequent pauses during matches.

One-sided rollback will be permitted during temporary fluctuations in network connections,
and other adjustments have been made to further prevent pauses when the game is attempting to sync.

Before: Changed to check opponent’s ping every second instead of an average ping over 8 seconds.
After: Rolled back the change so that the average ping over 8 seconds is calculated instead of checking ping every second.

2. Significant lag could occur immediately after the start of a match,
so matches are now synched from the beginning of round call to minimize early lag.

3. Reduced the processing load during the battle.

■Other
Battle Lounge spectators can now tell if the match they are going to spectate is a P2P or relay connection.

This icon indicates a relay-connected match, meaning lag may occur.

At the time of writing there are no official patch notes for the Street Fighter 5 3.04 update, though players attempting to connect to the online servers should know that Capcom is currently performing maintenance. This is scheduled to run from 6PM PDT to 10 PM PDT, which is fours hours of downtime according to the Street Fighter 5 server status Twitter account.

“We will perform server maintenance from PDT 6pm to 10pm on October 13 (10/14 1:00 to 5:00 UTC). Thank you for your patience and support!”

During this time players will be unable to log into the Street Fighter 5 servers. As noted there are currently no known notes for Street Fighter 3.02 update, though we will be sure to update this post once the notes become available.

Black Ops Cold War Beta Weekend 2 Changes Revealed by Treyarch

For those on PS4, the first weekend of the beta has already wrapped up, and the next one is happening this Thursday, and this time, Xbox One and PC gamers are joining as well. Treyarch has now listed the Black Ops Cold War beta weekend 2 changes, which are listed below.

Black Ops Cold War Beta Weekend 2 Changes:

GAMEPLAY

  • Adjusted tuning on the Duster Stock attachment to prevent faster sliding than intended.
  • Increased the cooldown on the Spy Plane to help limit their numbers in the sky at one time.
  • Increased TDM score limit from 75 to 100 for better match pacing.
  • Updated the Assassin Perk description for clarity. (Updated Oct. 9)
  • Slightly reduced damage output of the Milano 821 SMG. (Updated Oct. 9)

GENERAL

  • Adjusted conditions for joining in progress to prevent players from joining matches that are about to end.
  • Moved VIP Escort exclusively to the Featured playlist.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue where a controller could become unresponsive when loading into a match.
  • Fixed an issue with multiple Optics being misaligned in ADS and blocking the player’s view, including Snappoint, Diamondback, and Hawksmoor attachments.
  • Fixed a bug where players would get “UI Error 66156” when selecting “Add Activision Friends” from the Recent Players menu.
  • Fixed an issue where other players’ names were not visible in the pre-match lobby.

STABILITY

  • Fixed crashes that could occur during the Best Play in a VIP Escort match.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur while selecting Operators in the front-end menu.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when a SAM Turret missile hit a target when the turret was destroyed.
  • Fixed a rare crash that could occur if a Gunboat was beached for too long.

Note that these changes were rolled out as server-side updates during the PS4-only beta weekend. However, yesterday, Treyarch rolled out a client-side beta update as well, which you can read about here. For the full beta schedule, head on over here.

New Library Section on PlayStation Site Launches, Lets You Manage PS4 & PS5 Game Downloads and Filter Subscriptions

Sony has launched a new section on their PlayStation site that gives users access to their whole game library for PS4 and PS5.

While users can currently access a download list from the PS Store via web browser, this new library site lets users look at all their purchases, along with sort them between PS+ and PS Now titles. Users can also force download games from a download option under each title, which brings up a supported device. One of the more interesting new thing of this library though st the “played” filter, which arranges titles by their most recent use.

It also appears that the library will also be able to tell you if it’s a part of any other services outside of PlayStation as shown in the image above. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has a small “EA” logo by it as it is apart of the EA Access service, which the account is subscribed to. The recently played section also keeps track of titles that aren’t owned by a user (from another account) and even displays a locked symbol which prevents a user from downloading it. The same is true for disc based games as we tested it ourselves with The Order: 1886.

Pre-orders are also displayed and have a small clock icon over them. Unfortunately there’s no real-time counter like on the PS4, though clicking the title does link you to the PS Store for further details.

There doesn’t seem to be much else here, though chances are this is still being worked on and will include more functionality later. From my testing, it definitely is a bit easier to use than the current one of the PS Store, though the best way to download a game you want if directly from the PS4 as it has more available filters and search functionality.

Star Wars Squadrons Review – Space Jam

When I first started up Star Wars: Squadrons, I didn’t know what to expect. EA was releasing a Star Wars game that wasn’t full price but just at only $40 dollars, had me wondering what the catch was. I mean, this is EA we are talking about here, but to my surprise, Squadrons isn’t just a great Star Wars game, it’s an excellent flying sim that makes you feel like you are a part of the Star Wars universe. Read on for our full Star Wars Squadrons review.

Great Shot, Kid! That Was One in a Million

The game’s entire system revolves around you flying for both sides of a faction war in a galaxy far far away. You start by creating two pilots, one for the Empire and the other for the newly formed New Republic. The game takes place just after episode six that sees the Empire on the defensive after Endor’s battle in Return of the Jedi. The pilot creator isn’t intense, but you can customize your voice, uniform, helmet, and emotes and gives you just enough things to unlock to keep you chasing cool looking items. Once you create both sides, the campaign is around 8-10 hours of a pretty generic story about the New Republic building a weapon that can defeat the Empire, while the Empire works to find out its location and destroy it. You fly in 14 missions, switching between the Empire and New Republic perspectives and the tasks themselves are very fun. Developer Motive has done a fantastic job making you feel like you are flying in these epic battles. You fly the entire game in the first person, so the immersion (especially in VR) is a significant factor playing the game. You get to know your squad flying with you, each with a personality that makes them stand out. The campaign falls flat in-between missions, and this is where you see that the campaign had a smaller budget due to its cheaper price tag. You go to mission briefings and get to chat with your squad with this strange click and go to talk to them UI (If you have ever played any Telltale series game, you will understand what I mean). Talking to your squad-mates on both sides can be interesting at times, but it’s all entirely optionally, and all I could think while I was getting a mission brief was “hurry up and let me get to flying again.”

Pilots Don’t Blame Their Equipment

Everything in Squadrons feels right at home in the Star Wars universe, which is especially true for gameplay. Each faction has four ships, the X-wing, A-wing, Y-wing and U-wing on the New Republic side and the Tie Bomber, Tie Interceptor, Tie Fighter and Tie Reaper on the Empires. All of the UI is built right into each ship’s console, so knowing your speed, missile count, hull integrity, shield strength, and lock-on marker requires zero on-screen UI. I turned off every assist once I got to know each ship reasonably well and had one of the most immersive experiences I have ever had in a Star Wars game. The developers have done such a great job making each ship feel unique and bring a particular role to the table. Bombers are perfect for attacking capital ships for massive damage, and they have better shielding, but the downside is they are relatively slow and take longer turns. You can customize parts of your ship, which change depending on what kind of playstyle or role you enjoy most. You can make a Tie Fighter a jack of all trades ship where everything is balanced, or you can tune it, so it is best suited for a hit and run role by upgrading the engines to give yourself more speed but at the cost of less hull integrity. I enjoyed unlocking new parts to experiment with what worked best for each mission and my playstyle. As the game’s lifespan increases, I could see some builds that come out as overpowered, so here’s hoping Motive continues to watch what is being used the most and balances it the best they can.

The Best of the Best Run With a Good Squadron

Outside of the campaign, there is an online multiplayer which allows for further customization. You can unlock decals, bobbleheads, ship colour designs and more all by just playing the multiplayer. The two modes included are Dogfight, your standard 5v5 deathmatch and a large-scale mode called Fleet battles. Fleet battles are still 5v5 but bring in AI-controlled ships and tasks both teams to earn points by shooting down fighters to earn points. Once one team has earned enough points, they will go on the attack and try to take out the two capital ships that the defensive team must protect. Once both ships are taken out, the final stage begins, and the attacking team must take out the flagship to win the match. Teams on the defence can earn enough points to push the attackers back and go on the offensive, a tug of war if you will, and it’s enjoyable but a lot more enjoyable if you have teams that communicate. Being able to call out to a teammate that you have someone on your tail and they come and save you is one of the most gratifying things about the multiplayer because it gives that sense of you are a squadron; you back each other up, exactly how we see it happen in the movies. 

The biggest flaw with multiplayer is the maps. Only six maps are in the game, and while many of them are beautiful to look at, some are just too wide open to be able to escape an enemy who is chasing you. What usually ends up happening is you will start flying around in a circle trying to get sight of the person behind you. I have had quite a few instances where I was trying to attack someone, and it would end up being a 2-3 minute case of nothing but going up and around in a circle, and would only end because a teammate would come in from a different direction and shoot the ship I was chasing. Motive has already confirmed to have no post-launch content for Squadrons, and while this is usually a good thing ( your $40 goes to the full complete game, yay!), the map variety becomes stale quickly. 

Star Wars Squadrons surprised me a lot. Being a $40 game with a full campaign, fairly deep progression and some enjoyable multiplayer modes, I was shocked that all of this came from the company that launched Star Wars Battlefront 2 a few years ago. Squadrons fly on that perfect line of arcadey feel and simulation, with settings that allow players to bring it more in line with what they want out of the game. EA seems to have finally figured out what players want with their Star Wars licenses, although it took quite a few years to get it right.

  • Excellent controls that let the player choose how realistic they want the game to be
  • A lot of unlockables to craft your ship and pilot 
  • Makes excellent use of the Star Wars licence; first person perspective makes it feel authentic. 
  • The $40 price tag is very nice to see

Cons: 

  • Multiplayer maps leave a lot to be desired 
  • The campaign is genetic, point and click between missions is jarring 
  • No post-launch content hurts, especially since this game could use it

GENERAL UPDATES

Feature Update: Improved Profanity Filter

We are making changes to how the Profanity Filter works to give players more control over the types of words they see. Instead of a simple On/Off Profanity Filter, there are now three levels of profanity filtering provided.

  • FRIENDLY – We’ll do our best to filter all words currently identified by our constantly-updated list as obscene, vulgar, or offensive. This is the most family-friendly setting.
  • MATURE – You may see some obscene or vulgar words with this setting, but we will filter language identified as extremely offensive.
  • UNFILTERED – Nothing will be filtered. Please be aware that you may see extremely offensive language. This setting is not recommended.

Along with the new three levels of filtering, we now will allow players to have different profanity filter settings for each communication channel. These channels include:

  • GENERAL CHAT
  • MATCH CHAT
  • TEAM CHAT
  • PARTY CHAT
  • WHISPER

As an example, you could use the stronger FRIENDLY profanity filter option for more public channels such as GENERAL CHAT or MATCH CHAT, but use the MATURE option for the more private PARTY CHAT.

PLEASE NOTE: Using Any of the profanity filters doesn’t make it okay for players to use offensive language, and we encourage you to report these examples if you encounter them.

See Blizzard Entertainment’s In-Game-Code of Conduct for more information on acceptable behavior. Using language reported by the community and deemed offensive by Blizzard will result in severe account restrictions.

Feature Update: Elevator Adjustments

Elevators will now wait at the bottom of their track until a player boards the platform. After a short delay, the platform rises rapidly upward. Once the elevator reaches the top, it pauses briefly before returning to the bottom.

We’ve received quite a bit of feedback about the unreliability of the looping elevators in Hollywood and Volskaya Industries. In an effort to improve that experience, we have re-designed the elevators in both maps so that they no longer endlessly loop. We hope that this change will make elevators a quicker and more reliable form of vertical transportation, while granting nearby players fair warning that the elevator is in use through updated sound effects.

  • Fixed a bug that caused Baptiste’s eyes to not blink during his idle animation

  • Fixed a bug that caused the spray menu to display “Empty” in the top slot while a spray is equipped
  • Fixed a bug that displayed the Korean flag incorrectly on the Taegeukgi skin

Echo

  • Fixed a bug with Echo’s Duplicate voice lines not playing in the correct language

Lúcio

  • Fixed a bug that caused Lúcio’s legs to unintentionally extend when landing on uneven terrain

Pharah

  • Fixed a bug with the Lifeguard skin model not displaying properly on low texture quality settings
  • Fixed a bug that caused Pharah’s eyes to not animate properly when equipping the Lifeguard skin

Reaper

  • Fixed a bug that caused Reaper’s shotgun pattern to still be affected by random rotation

Reinhardt

  • Fixed a bug that prevented “Storm, Earth and Fire” achievement from triggering

Zarya

  • Fixed a bug that caused beam hit effects to display incorrectly on barriers
Custom Games
  • Fixed an issue with the Door Health Scalar custom games setting for Junkenstein
  • Fixed an issue with the Difficulty custom games setting for Junkenstein
Workshop
  • Fixed a bug with Ashe’s Dynamite in hand to not scale to the size of the projectile
  • Fixed a bug with Brigitte’s Whip Shot not displaying properly when triggered rapidly without a cooldown
  • Fixed a bug that caused Reinhardt’s Earthshatter to not consistently hit targets when model scale is increased
  • Fixed a bug where Ashe’s B.O.B. would not smoothly scale up/down with Ashe
  • Fixed a bug where Call Mech placed the location of the new mech incorrectly at varying scales

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Update 1.11 October 13 Released for Fixes (Update #2)

In a rather surprising move, Respawn Entertainment has released the Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order update 1.11 October 13 patch, and as one might expect, there’s no new content, but more to do with fixes.

Respawn Entertainment has not released any patch notes just yet, but so far, we know one thing that got fixed.

Over on the subreddit, a poster announced that the flying glitch has been fixed.

Since the latest patch the flying glitch doesnt work anymore 🙁

As far as we’re aware, that’s the only thing that got fixed. We’re still keeping an eye out on Respawn and will update the post if we hear anything back. If you spot any gameplay-related changes, let us know down in the comments below, and it check outs, we’ll update the post and credit you.

Update: EA has sent us the official patch notes via email.

Update 2: We’ve updated the post as the “official” notes are from a third-party. We’ve contacted EA for a reply and will update the post again if we hear back.
