Below are a couple screens of conceptual artwork and map design.

All Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition Pre-Order Bonuses Revealed

EA has detailed Medal of Honor Warfighter‘s pre-order bonuses, which are available at select retailers. It seems that the first print of Medal of Honor Warfighter will be considered the “Limited Edition” of the game, as it was the case with Medal of Honor 2010 and Battlefield 3.

The Limited Edition includes an early unlock of the previously announced U.S. Navy SEAL Tier 1 Sniper. The SEAL Tier 1 Sniper is equipped with the McMillan TAC-300 to enhance “lethality and surgical precision.” EA and Danger Close have also unveiled four different packs available at different retailers listed below:

  • Medal of Honor Warfighter SFOD-D Pointman Pack (GameStop) – Gamers will unlock early the U.S. SFOD-D Point Man right when they hit the online battlefield. SFOD-D is known for speed, surprise and violence of action. The Point Man exemplifies this by assuming the inherent danger of placing himself in the first and most exposed position yet mitigates his risk with rapid speed, agility and extreme operational awareness.
  • Medal of Honor Warfighter Trijicon Optics 3 Pack (Amazon) – The Trijicon Optics 3 bundle unlocks three optics for the Heckler & Koch HK416 assault rifle, which includes the Trijicon ACOG, SRS Reflex and RMR, preparing Operators for any engagement. Trijicon’s wide range of brilliant aiming solutions fulfill the Operator’s need for both magnified, self-luminous tactical sights as well as red dot reflex sights that enhance target identification to increase hit probability in both extended-range and close quarter engagements.
  • Medal of Honor Warfighter British SAS Spec Ops Pack (Origin – All Platforms) – Available via Origin.com, the British SAS Spec Ops packs provides PC gamers with an early unlock of the British SAS Spec Ops. The SAS have served as the model for modern Special Operations around the world and have been operating in covert, low visibility roles in non-permissive environments for decades. The SAS are experts in tradecraft acquired through extensive field experience in special reconnaissance, sabotage, snatch and grab and ambush often penetrating their targets completely undetected.
  • Medal of Honor Warfighter Digital Deluxe Pack (Origin – PC Only) – PC Gamers who pre-order the PC Digital Deluxepack at $69.99 will receive all content from the British SAS Spec Ops pack as well as the Russian Spetsnaz Alfa Group Heavy Gunner. The Spetsnaz utilize and employ heavy weaponry more often than most Special Operations units. They see fire superiority as a priority in any engagement and therefore excel at suppression tactics, covering fire and support for their comrades. PC Digital Deluxe owners will also receive the digital game soundtrack for Medal of Honor Warfighter.

[Updated] Battlefield 3: Close Quarters Launch Fumbles on the PS3

Update: We are receiving word that re-downloading the Close Quarters DLC on the PS3 resolves the issue of not being able to join Close Quarters matches. If you are running into issues, try simply re-downloading it from the PSN store (not the Battlefield 3 in-game store). You shouldn’t be charged a second time.

Battlefield’s official Twitter account just confirmed to us that, “yes, re-downloading from the PSN store rather than from within game has been fixing this for people.”

EA Support also recently issued this statement:

This issue has been resolved. In order to play Close Quarters, you will need to re-download the expansion from the in-game store. Once this is complete, you will be able to play on Close Quarters maps. Remember this only affected North American PS3 users who own Premium. Close Quarters is not yet available for X360 and PC players.

Original Story: It’s safe to say, and perhaps an understatement, that many PS3 Battlefield 3 Premium members are upset.

Just yesterday, June 4th, Battlefield 3: Close Quarters DLC launched on the PS3 for those who purchased the Battlefield 3 Premium service for $49.99. While many PS3 users were excited and anxious to try out this brand new infantry-based DLC, sadly, things didn’t quite go according to plan for Battlefield 3 developers, DICE.

We’ve been getting numerous reports of PS3 players having trouble connecting to Close Quarters matches, some not being able to connect at all. Normally, an issue like this could slide under the radar, but for those paying good money to receive early access, it could be a cause of concern.

So far, no progress seems to have been made, though EA Support did have this to say on their official website.

We are aware that North American Battlefield Premium members are currently experiencing trouble connecting to Close Quarters maps and servers on Playstation 3. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible and will update this page when we have more information.

You can still play online by de-selecting Close Quarters maps from the server selection screen. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience.

We’ll make sure to keep you updated on the situation once more information becomes available. Feel free to follow MP1st on Twitter and Facebook.

E3 2012 – Black Ops II Behind-the-Scenes Video, MP and Zombies Discussed

“The multiplayer community is everything to us. We have such an avid fan base,” says Treyarch in a brand new behind-the-scenes video for Black Ops II.

In this video, the folks over at Treyarch go through all three components of the game with main emphasis on the campaign, as you know the studio is saving zombies and multiplayer for last.

David Vonderhaar stated that the multiplayer mode’s new “create a class is sweet” because it now enables you to “choose what’s the most important things to you, and forget about  the things that are not important.” He went on to note, “This will open up doors for playstyles you have not seen. It’s going to be fantastic.”

In terms of zombies, Treyarch referenced one map to be “bigger than any map [they] have ever done. It’s about just making it more open for the player, more choices, things to do. It’s going to be exciting,” concluded the brief zombies segment.

The multiplayer and zombie discussion starts at 2:53, but we encourage you to watch the whole video.

Forget Close Quarters. Armored Kill is all the rage today among the Battlefield 3 community. Yesterday, we got our first look at some gorgeous Armored Kill screens as well as some footage from the Battlefield 3 Premium trailer.

Today, we’ve gotten our hands on a few more details thanks to this Armored Kill fact sheet, courtesy of our friends over at Battlefieldo.

Battlefield 3: Armored Kill will be sporting the following features:

  • All-out vehicle warfare on four new maps.

E3 2012 – Ubisoft Massive Unveils Far Cry 3 4-Player Co-op

Ubisoft Massive has been keeping secrets.

During Sony’s E3 press conference, the makers of Far Cry 3’s multiplayer unveiled a bit of a secret that they had been keeping since Far Cry 3’s announcement. It turns out, 4-player co-op will be making its way to Far Cry 3 in addition to the single player campaign, competitive multiplayer and map editor.

In an on-stage demonstration, members of the Ubisoft team demonstrated 4-player gameplay as the players worked their way through a mission set in an area similar to what we’ve seen in some of the competitive multiplayer footage. It seems that many of the multiplayer features such as the Battle Cry and the ability to revive teammates will also be making into co-op.

Look forward to Far Cry 3 this September 4th.

E3 2012 – Gears of War: Judgment Announcement Trailer, Early 2013 Release Date

Today at Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference, briefly after Microsoft dropped an extraordinary showing from Halo 4, they followed it up with another blockbuster franchise. Gears of War: Judgment didn’t have to wait long into the show to see it’s reveal, which you can view below.

[youtube id=”vBwB5JBMILA” width=”600″ height=”350″]

A couple of things I grabbed from this particular trailer is it features two returning Gears characters, Augustus Cole and Damon Baird. If you played the other Gears titles you’ll notice that they look a lot younger. Gears of War Judgment takes place 14 years before Gears of War 1. Baird and Cole are accompanied in Kilo Squad by newcomers Garron and Sofia. Kilo Squad is being charged with treason by not following orders, stealing equipment, and their actions could potentially kill millions of citizens they swore to protect.

Gears of War: Judgment is being co-developed by Epic Games and People Can Fly, the developers of Bulletstorm. Judgment is slated for a release in early 2013 and you can read more about the multiplayer details that have surfaced.

We plan to learn more about Gears of War: Judgment as more becomes available. Are you excited for the next chapter in the Gears of War Saga? Let us know in the comment section below and as always, stay tuned to MP1st!
