SMITE Update 12.13 Drops for 9.4 Bonus Update This May 3

Hi-Rez has released SMITE update 12.13, which is for the 9.4 Bonus Update! This brings changes to items, and a few characters, and of course, some bug fixes, too. Read on for the SMITE May 3 patch notes below.

SMITE Update 12.13 | SMITE 9.4 Bonus Update Patch Notes | SMITE May 3 Patch Notes:

9.4 BONUS BALANCE

General

  • The 9.4 Jade Emperor Update was a unique update with a large variety of nerfs across many gods and items in all classes and roles. It also included changes to Diminishing Returns (DR)
  • As a prologue to this bonus update and the next full update we would like to review the Goal: Nerf top Gods and Items to decrease creep/bloat and buff lower performers indirectly
    • We have seen a significant shift in god win rate data.
    • Gods who were not nerfed in 9.4 saw significant increases in win rate with gods like Nu Wa, Mercury, Rama, Terra, and King Arthur seeing the largest increases in Conquest win rate for each class.
    • Most of the gods who were directly nerfed did drop heavily. Most importantly: Bastet from her bonus balance change, who had the single biggest drop in Conquest win rate in the entire update.
    • Item data often lags well behind god data, as players will take much more time to optimize new builds and wait for pros and influencers to drive the meta. We haven’t seen any game-wide trends in item data yet, but with the first SPL rounds in 9.4 we expect to see some new builds that will then ripple out further into the game causing even more shifts that are not reflected in the data at this time. Even some of the most obvious changes, like pro hunters building Devourer’s Gauntlets now, are not widespread enough to make significant impacts on data from all players.
    • We have seen the various comments about individual gods being more affected than others by the change to DR. So far in the win rate data we have not seen anything too concerning. Horus and Eset actually increased in win rate from 9.3 to 9.4. Thor is down and was struggling heavily even before this change. The god single most affected by DR nerfs instead of direct nerfs seems to be Serqet, with Hades not far behind. Bacchus and Hou Yi received direct nerfs but were also potentially hurt by DR changes due to the magnitude of their decreases. It’s possible that it was itemization that also affected these gods but DR changes look to be a likely culprit. At the moment we are happy with the nerf to CC across the game and it likely will have a lot of long term benefits. We will most likely be planning buffs for Thor and Serqet in 9.5 as initial test cases for this issue because they are the gods who statistically need buffs the most after 9.4.
  • Goal: Decrease average damage
    • We are seeing changes to, but in very small amounts.
    • Non-Conquest modes saw average total damage go down, with every class individually seeing a decrease in damage. However, this damage decrease was generally quite small – in the range of about 2%.
    • On Conquest we saw damage in total come down, but even less so than in Non-Conquest modes, and we also saw it mostly only apply to Mages, Guardians, and Assassins. Warriors and Hunters went slightly up.
    • Historically we have not seen this data change drastically. The biggest peaks and lowest valleys in damage from multiple years tend to be within about 10% of each other, and that usually occurs over longer periods of time as metas shift. So a 2% change in a single update is something players certainly could feel, and we have seen comments from players claiming that things do feel slightly different.
    • Damage per class as a stat is also heavily affected by new god launches. With so many people playing that one god – that gods individual performance becomes the biggest part of the equation. So, by this logic, the fact that Yu Huang launched underpowered could be the main driving factor in damage stats decreasing. When removing Yu Huang from the equation we still saw general damage decreases in the same situations as described above, but in even smaller amounts for mage damage, and thus totals (that include mage damage).
  • General Comments on 9.4 Bonus balance
    • The God and Item balance shifting was quite successful. We saw win rate increases in many gods who were untouched by 9.4 and previously considered weak. These gods might have not broken into the ranked or SPL meta yet, but they are now certainly closer to do that than they were before.
    • As mentioned above we haven’t been able to clearly identify any big changes in build patterns yet, but we have seen a lot of chatter and intrigue about what new builds will look like.
    • We will extend similar logic into 9.4 Bonus to continue nerfing some top performing gods and items with universal goals, not just damage focused. See the dev notes below for the thought process and action items related to this bullet point.
  • General Comments on 9.5 balance and beyond
    • As part of this bonus update we want to convey some previews looking forward to 9.5. The Bonus update will further target early game time to kill, general damage, and top performers, but based on the feedback and data from 9.4 we feel like more action is indeed required.
    • We designed 9.4 with a lot of caution in mind. We wanted to make our first move at game-wide balance a safe one. “The Nerfening” was always designed as a multi-step plan, and it seems we could have done better to clearly communicate that on the 9.4 patch show. Many people felt like we oversold the changes in 9.4, and under communicated our future intentions. We wanted to see what magnitude of results we would get from these safer changes in order to better prepare the dev team and the players for the concept of even more intense change.
    • We also saw a lot of confusion about nerfing protection items and a few god’s protective abilities, which would have made much more sense if we had communicated more clearly that the 9.4 update was more about bringing down top performing “bloat” cases, with a smaller goal of experimenting with damage changes.
  • 9.5 Preview
    • We plan to deliver another game-wide change in 9.5 that will have a more powerful and targeted effect on time to kill, especially in the early game. We want to be careful here to not oversell or undersell this planned change, nor reveal it fully yet, but we have discussed the specific details with Pros and Olympians and everyone is very excited about it. It should be significantly more intense compared to 9.4 and it’s going to affect all gods as equally as possible. We still want SMITE to feel like SMITE though, and some calls for change are simply unrealistic. We want to find a solid shift to get our toughest critics excited to re-engage with SMITE without scaring off the many players who still love and play the game in Season 9.
    • 9.5 Will also be the first Conquest update of Season 9, with new environment art, mechanical changes, and heavy balance adjustments across the map. We have seen significant decreases in the snowball factor on the Conquest map since 9.1, but we have some lofty goals for pacing and game-feel changes that require a significant balance pass. These changes will compound with the above point, leading to a shift in all modes, but an even larger one within the Conquest mode.

Items

In this bonus update we are nerfing the starting power on many early game items including starters, Tier 1 DPS items, and Tier 2 Penetration items. This was the single most clearly identified aspect that was missing from 9.4. Starter items were originally not nerfed because they had such a delicate balance with each other that had been worked on across the entire last year, but the data and feedback has provided the proper information to make us feel more confident about this change. This should provide some more subtle changes in game feel, especially in the early game, and will contribute to more subtle damage decreases and shifts in build paths.
There are also clearly items that aren’t nerf here. We generally avoided nerfing the starter items that are the less popular ones already, have low power, or are for Supports.

(STARTER) DEATH’S TOLL
  • Decreased Physical Power from 20 to 15

(STARTER) GILDED ARROW
  • Decreased Basic Attack Damage from 25 to 20

(STARTER) LEATHER COWL
  • Decreased Physical Power from 20 to 15
  • Increased Attack Speed from 5% to 7%

(STARTER) BLUESTONE PENDANT
  • Decreased Passive Bonus Damage from 25 to 20

(STARTER) VAMPIRIC SHROUD
  • Decreased Health from 100 to 75

(STARTER) SAND OF TIME
  • Decreased Magical Power from 30 to 25

(STARTER) CONDUIT GEM
  • Decreased Magical Power from 30 to 25

(STARTER) EYE OF THE JUNGLE
  • Decreased Magical Power from 25 to 20
  • Decreased Attack Speed from 10% to 7%

(TIER 1) MACE
  • Decreased Physical Power from 15 to 10

(TIER 2) HEAVY MACE
  • Removed the 5 Flat Penetration from this item

(TIER 2) WARRIOR’S BANE
  • Removed the 10% Penetration from this item

(TIER 1) MAGIC FOCUS
  • Decreased Magical Power from 25 to 20

(TIER 2) ENCHANTED SPEAR
  • Removed the 5 Flat Penetration from this item

(TIER 2) SPELL FOCUS
  • Removed the 10% Penetration from this item

(TIER 1) EMERALD RING
  • Decreased Magical Power from 25 to 20

(TIER 1) KATANA
  • Decreased Physical Power from 10 to 7

(TIER 1) SHURIKEN
  • Decreased Physical Power from 10 to 7

(TIER 1) ROUND SHIELD
  • Decreased Physical Power from 10 to 7

(TIER 1) ENCHANTED BUCKLER
  • Decreased Physical Power from 10 to 7
A few powerful Warrior items (and sometimes support) were at the top of everyone’s lists for things that dodged nerfs in 9.4. This might not contribute directly to game wide damage, but Warriors are still going strong in 9.4 and these items affect multiple classes and roles with their effects, while also feeling specifically strong individually.

BERSERKER’S SHIELD
  • Decreased Physical Power from 30 to 25
  • Decreased Physical Protection from 60 to 50

SHOGUN’S KUSARI
  • Decreased Magical Protection from 60 to 50

CADUCEUS SHIELD
  • Decreased Physical Protection from 35 to 30
  • Decreased Magical Protection from 35 to 30
Gods
YU HUANG
New gods are always an interesting situation. It appears that in this case the data and feedback are clearly aligned: Yu Huang needs some buffs. The god definitely has a learning curve and a unique feel that takes some time to adjust to, which is why we usually wait longer before we apply buffs. Atlas was in a similar situation and was buffed in PTS, so it feels appropriate that Yu Huang could be buffed in his first bonus update. These buffs specifically aim toward increasing his total damage as a mage, which is definitely on the low end for the class, and it includes one important change to his feel that allows him to refire his Ability 2 more quickly without a damage penalty.

FLAMES OF THE PHOENIX
  • Increased Cinder Damage from 15/25/35/45/55 to 25/35/45/55/65
  • Increased Magical Power Scaling from 15% to 25%

DAO CULTIVATION
  • This ability now deals 100% damage regardless of how quickly it is fired

DUELING DRAGONS
  • Decreased Cooldown from 100s to 90s
  • Increased Magical Power Scaling from 50% to 60% on the Push Damage
  • Increased Magical Power Scaling from 45% to 50% on the Explosion Damage
    • Total increase from 95% to 110%
SHIVA
The Season Launch god has come down with his past nerfs, but we are looking at one more that we think will be the last for a while. Shiva’s Ultimate provides a long duration of CC Immunity and Damage Mitigation that makes it an especially powerful engage or escape tool. Shiva’s recent over-performance has continued to be attributed to his mobility and evasion, so we are removing the damage mitigation from this ability to make sure Shiva’s enemies can properly punish and counter the ability.

SHIVA TANDAVA
  • Removed the 20% Damage Mitigation Shiva gains while channeling
CLIODHNA
Players are wailing like banshees about Cliodhna’s power level. This god saw heavy damage scaling nerfs to multiple abilities in 9.4, but she has held onto a top spot in the meta. For this update we are taking a different path by removing the Ability Lifesteal she gets while inside a wall. Managing your health and creating a strong risk/reward situation is important to this gods design, and allowing Cliodhna to heal up while in a wall felt contrary to that goal, especially as players got better at handling her. She will no longer have this ability, but she will still gain this bonus after exiting, encouraging her to leap into battle and deal damage to heal herself back up.

PHANTASMAL
  • Removed the 10% Physical Ability Lifesteal she gains While inside a wall only (she still gets it for 5s upon exiting)
CTHULHU
Despite his massive stature, this god was still able to hide from the nerfs in 9.4. He was recently buffed and we did aim to avoid nerfing gods in that situation, but Cthulhu has clearly shown that he is now a meta staple, not just a flavor of the month. He is mostly valued for his Ultimate, which is going to get nerfed in both its tanky features as well as its damage ability. Although Cthulhu’s Ultimate thematically is driving players to abandon all hope and spiral into madness, we do want players to actually be able to fight against it.

DESCEND INTO MADNESS
  • Decreased Max Health from 25% to 20%

SEVER (ULT FORM ABILITY 1)
  •   Decreased Base Damage from 100/150/200/255/300 to 100/140/180/220/260
DA JI
This goddess has recently risen to power in the SPL as a specific counter pick against a few top gods. She is mostly a counter-pick and also has not been in the meta much recently so we are starting off very light with her nerfs. Her Ultimate is powerful and tough to counter, so a small increase in cooldown here could make a big difference, especially at the pro level.

PAOLAO
  • Increased Cooldown from 100s to 110s
HE BO
We really opened the floodgates on He Bo when we removed that self root. After discussing with the team, analyzing the data, and reviewing the feedback, we still feel like this was the right call. We would rather make the god feel much better to use, then nerf him in other ways. He Bo plays best when maneuvering between enemies, and that self root really hurts his flow. However, to balance that out he will definitely need some damage nerfs.

STEADY FLOW
  • Decreased Magical Power Buff per stack from 5% to 4%
    • (Decreased Total Magical Power % buff from 15% to 12%)

CRUSHING WAVE
  • Decreased Base Damage from 370/450/530/610/690 to 350/430/510/590/670
  • Decreased Magical Power Scaling from 115% to 105%

Bug Fixes

  • Hotfixed Friday 4/22
    • Fixed an issue where Conquest had incorrect jungle spawn timers
    • Ymir
      • Fixed an issue where his Freezy Bot skin would fail to spawn walls
    • Yu Huang
      • Fixed an issue where charging up and canceling his second ability could trigger some item effects
      • Fixed an issue where he would get locked out of auto attacking
      • Fixed an issue where he couldn’t pass through player-made walls with his third ability
  • Hide of the Nemean Lion
    • Fixed an issue where this item’s passive would lose stacks from Minions, Jungle Camps, Jungle Bosses, and Towers
  • Chiron
    • Fixed an issue with his Shining Chivalry skin missing ability SFX audio
  • Kuzenbo
    • Fixed visibility issues with the Nene Kappa on his base skin
  • Yu Huang
    • Fixed an issue that caused clients to crash when he died during his ultimate

Fortnite Update 3.54 Out for v20.30 & Datamined Content This May 3 (Update)

Epic Games has released the Fortnite update 3.54 patch today, and this one is for the massive changes and fixes added to v20.30! Check out the full Fortnite May 3 update patch notes below!

Fortnite Update 3.54 Patch Notes | Fortnite Update v20.30 Patch Notes | Fortnite May 3 Update Patch Notes:

Update: Epic Games has released the new content and changes in v20.30!

Battle Royale v20.30 is all about high heights: fight for the fate of towers, wield space weapons, and bring back the Choppa. 🚁

THE BATTLE FOR TILTED TOWERS

Fortnite The Battle for Tilted Towers

The Battle for Rocky Reels ended with a standing ovation and a victory for the Resistance! Find Funding Stations for an Armored Battle Bus and set of Turrets at this reclaimed POI.

But the most climactic POI Battle hasn’t started until now: the heart of the Island is at stake in the Battle for Tilted Towers. Join the Resistance in pushing back the IO! Higher than even the buildings is an IO Blimp carrying Huntmaster Saber, who refuses to stand down.

FULFILL YOUR DESTINY: MAY THE 4TH FESTIVITIES

Fortnite Lightsabers

Star WarsTM Day is going on in Fortnite, but not just on May the 4th! From May 3 to May 17, 2022, take up Lightsabers and E-11 Blaster Rifles in battle. Also, complete new Star Wars Quests to unlock an Empire Banner. More info on this intergalactic event can be found in our May the 4th blog post!

GO SKY HIGH IN A BLIMP CHOPPA

Fortnite Choppa

The IO aren’t the only ones who can take to the skies. Funding Stations for Choppas have been set up across all Seven Outposts — chip in Bars to bring this vehicle out of the vault! Once a Choppa is 100% Funded, fly across the map and attack from above.

SHOTGUNS REBALANCED

Fortnite Striker Pump Shotgun

In v20.30, all Shotguns have undergone a damage balance update. These changes will increase the damage for most shots (including headshots). All Shotguns have also been given a “max damage cap,” affecting how much maximum damage a single shot can deal.

Specific changes to Shotguns available in Fortnite Battle Royale/Zero Build:

  • Minimum pellet-hit count increased from 3 to 4 for the Striker Pump Shotgun, Auto Shotgun, and Drum Shotgun.
  • Striker Pump Shotgun and Auto Shotgun pellet damage and headshot damage increased.
  • Ranger Shotgun and Drum Shotgun headshot damage greatly increased, but no change to base pellet damage.
  • Drum Shotgun damage falloff adjusted, shortening effective range.

These changes have affected all Shotguns that are available in Fortnite Creative as well, which we detail in our Creative v20.30 blog post. We’ll continue to evaluate these changes as we monitor player feedback.

BROWSE MENU ADDED

Fortnite Browse Menu

The Browse menu has been added next to Discover! This menu is broken up into categories (such as Action, Casual, and Combat), making it easier to find new games in the genres you love.

COMPETITIVE NOTES

  • Forces at Tilted Towers are not in active conflict in competitive playlists, but the resulting destruction has occurred and Huntmaster Saber has still relocated.
  • Lightsabers and E-11 Blaster Rifles are not included in competitive playlists.
  • Choppas will not be brought into competitive playlists.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue involving most Seven Outpost Vaults being unopenable.

Currently, the official Fortnite Trello board has not updated to reflect the changes in v20.30. Once the list of fixes is out, we’ll update the post. We’re also expecting Epic to release the official patch notes which the devs have been doing the past few title updates.

In the meantime, here are the known issues for Fortnite as of the latest patch:

  • Due to a visual issue, we’ve temporarily disabled the Street Shine pickaxe and may not appear in your Locker. This item will be visible again and re-enabled in a future update.
  • Players will not receive social toast notifications when they’re in the match in a party with other players.
  • Vaults around Seven Outposts with a lock that requires multiple players to open currently are locked shut and will not activate. This will be resolved in a future update.
  • The Anvil Rocket Launcher does not show that it is locking on to vehicles as expected. It does still lock on when firing but does not display this.
  • Driving a vehicle can sometimes clip under the map when impacting the ground
  • When using split-screen, opening the Map or Quest screen will cause the other players’ view to become all black, blocking their vision.

Fortnite v20.30 Datamined Info:

We’ll update this post accordingly once the full patch notes are out and if there are any more datamined content discovered.

Update: Post has been updated with the official list of new content and changes from Epic Games.

Unreleased Battlefield 2042 Melee Weapons, Air Vehicle KA-99 Hannibal Unearthed

Aside from maps, weapons, and cosmetics, a couple of new unreleased Battlefield 2042 melee weapons have been unearthed as well, which suggest that these items could be hitting as part of Season 1, or maybe as new weekly challenges.

Dug up by reliable Battlefield dataminer temporyal, three 3D models of unreleased weapons have been spotted in the game’s files, though there are no individual kill animations available yet.

Another thing unearthed in the game’s files is a new air vehicle called the KA-99 Hanniabl, which is another attack chopper.

For those keeping score, the BF2042 unreleased melee weapons join new cosmetics and a new weather effect for an existing map, in-game store images, and unannounced weekly missions as some of the stuff unearthed in patch 4.0! Will wee see the same amount of data mined in the next patch due this month? One can hope, as this gives us a glimpse of what’s coming down the line. That said, same as with every datamined info, none of these have been confirmed by EA or DICE, so don’t blame the devs (or us) if we don’t see these come to light.

In other news regarding BF2042, it looks like the game might be hitting Xbox Game Pass and EA Play’s vault soon per store listings.

Tribes of Midgard Update 2.03 Released for Changes This May 2

Norsfell has released the Tribes of Midgard update 2.03 (PS5 version 2.003) today, and this one is for a bunch of changes to the game across platforms! Check out the full Tribes of Midgard May 2 update patch notes below.

Tribes of Midgard Update 2.03 Patch Notes | Tribes of Midgard Update 2.003 Patch Notes | Tribes of Midgard May 2 Update Patch Notes:

At the time of writing, Norsfell has not yet released the full notes on this newest update. With the game releasing on PS Plus for free this month of May, this new patch may have something to do with this release. However, the team did release a small patch a few days ago that did not require any downtime, and you can check out the changes made for that below.

Hiló Vikings,

We hope you’re doing well! We’re currently hard at work on the revamped Survival Mode and all that’s to come for Season 3, and will have more news to share about that very soon. 🙂

Following yesterday’s announcement that Tribes of Midgard will be available via PlayStation Plus from May 3rd – June 6th, we have a minor patch which has just been deployed!

This patch does not require any downtime – just be sure to restart your game to see the changes on all platforms (PS4, PS5, Steam, EGS). Here are the notes!

Double Season XP!

  • Effective as of this release, we are doubling the amount of Season XP earned in both Saga and Survival Modes.
    • Norsfell: Over the course of the Wolf and Serpent Sagas, we’ve been tracking Season XP progression very carefully and have come to the conclusion that in its current state, it is slower paced than we anticipated. We want players to be able to level up their account progress while having fun in Tribes of Midgard, whatever form that takes, and without having to worry about optimizing their Season XP gain efficiency in order to chase those unlocks. We’ll continue to monitor over the coming months but feel this is a worthwhile first step towards making progression feel quicker and (literally) more rewarding.

 Stronger Boats, Boats, Boats!

  • All Boat types have had their HP boosted by 100% and the maximum collision damage that can be received has been cut in half.
    • Norsfell: We noticed that Boat durability was a little more flimsy than we expected, making it very easy to find yourself shipwrecked. We greatly boosted the HP values of all Boats to give them some much needed survivability so it’ll take more than a bump or two to end your Viking journey.

Shop Rotation Speeding Up

  • To account for the increasing amount of content and offerings we plan to add, we’ll be speeding up the Featured Shop rotation to every 3 days, from every 7.

We’ll be sure to update this post once the full patch notes are out, if there are any.

Embracer Group Acquiring Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, Square Enix Montreal Along With IPs for $300 Million

Just a few weeks ago, Embracer Group announced that they were not done acquiring companies just yet, and it seems that comment was spot-on, as Embracer announced that it was acquiring Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, Square Enix Montreal and a catalog of IPs for $300 million!

According to the press release, Embracer will now also own the licenses for Tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain, Thief, Sleeping Dogs, and more! In total, there are more than 50 back catalog of games and licenses that will transfer ownership. As for the personnel, this acquisition will involve over 1,100 employees across three studios and eight global locations.

Check out the prepared statements released by both Embracer and Square Enix:

”We are thrilled to welcome these studios into the Embracer Group. We recognize the fantastic IP, world class creative talent, and track record of excellence that have been demonstrated time and again over the past decades. It has been a great pleasure meeting the leadership teams and discussing future plans for how they can realize their ambitions and become a great part of Embracer,” says Lars Wingefors, Co-founder and Group CEO, Embracer Group.

”Embracer is the best kept secret in gaming: a massive, decentralized collection of entrepreneurs whom we are thrilled to become a part of today. It is the perfect fit for our ambitions: make high-quality games, with great people, sustainably, and grow our existing franchises to their best versions ever. Embracer allows us to forge new partnerships across all media to maximize our franchises’ potential and live our dreams of making extraordinary entertainment,” says Phil Rogers, Square Enix America and Europe CEO.

This is a massive steal by Embracer, which now holds the licenses for some of gaming’s biggest properties. Given the disappointing sales Square Enix has seen with Marvel’s Avengers,Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Tomb Raider franchise, this is probably the Japan-based studio’s white flag for churning out games from western studios.

My take: At $300 million, this is a massive steal by Embracer! Imagine owning the studios and the licenses too?! I certainly hope we see a new Legacy of Kain game from this. Sleeping Dogs is another brand that can get another shot, too. You can bet to the bank that we’ll be seeing another Tomb Raider game from this, so that’s a given.

Despite On-Going Issues, Fans Band Together for “Titanfall 2 Day” – Here’s How to Join

While Respawn Entertainment and EA might have put the Titanfall franchise in their back pocket for now, the franchise’s fans haven’t forgotten about Titanfall 2 just yet, as the game’s community is celebrating Titanfall 2 Day today, and that’s with a play-in session.

The announcement was made on the Apex Legends subreddit, where members of the community are showing appreciation to the game that launched Apex Legends (given the two games are connected). While Titanfall 2 is still suffering from hackers and cheaters (on PC, at least), fans have banded together for custom servers. Check out message by Reddit user  SDCored:

Hey Legends!

As you may (or may not!) know, Apex Legends is part of a bigger universe: The Titanfall universe. Without it, we wouldn’t have the games that we have today. We owe it to Titanfall and Titanfall 2 for giving us such an expansive universe to play our favourite legends in.

What better way to pay homage than to get the community together to play Titanfall 2. Last year, the r/titanfall subreddit got together and played Titanfall 2 as much as they could on May 1st (and after!). Respawn had even made TF2 free for the weekend! While the latter might not happen again this year, it’s important to show your love for Titanfall by banding together as a community, showing your love and support for the game, and playing with all the people that have loved the game for so long. Show Respawn that we still love this game!

If you want to take part in it or just want to check out the status of the Titanfall servers on PC (as most of the issues occur on PC), check out this super informative post.

While May 1st being Titanfall 2 Day wasn’t officially proclaimed by Respawn, it’s still a treat to see a game’s community come together to celebrate one of the greatest first-person shooters of all-time (yeah, I said it).

Report: Battlefield 2042 Hitting Game Pass and EA Play Vault According to Store Listing

If you ever wanted to play Battlefield 2042. but didn’t want to pony up the cash to buy it, you might be able to for ‘free” soon — that is, if you own an Xbox and is an active member of Xbox Game Pass and EA Play’s vault.

In an Xbox Store listing spotted by Polish gaming site XGP, it shows an image of Battlefield 2042 being included in Game Pass and EA Play, with the latter service included in the Game Pass Ultimate memberships.

For those thinking that EA can’t possibly vault or include one of their most recenlty released big games into Game Pass/EA Play, don’t forget, FIFA 2022, which was just released in September 2021, will be part of the May PlayStation Plus freebies.

If this is true, then this is a quick way to hike up Battlefield 2042’s player count — assuming people do download it and play it, of course.

Same as with anything unconfirmed, treat this one with a grain of salt until confirmed officially (or debunked) by EA.

The Division 2 PTS Phase 3 Patch Notes Lists New Changes and Known Issues

Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment studio has shared The Division 2 PTS Phase 3 patch notes, as it continues to develop the game’s next major title update! Aside from the gameplay tweaks, the studio has also listed the known issues associated with the patch from PTS Phase 2.

Also of note, the studio announced that all the changes described in the Phase 2 Check-In, and the patch notes listed below will become available in Title Update 15 (TU15) when it’s released. While that might be disappointing for some, the studio says this is the only way they can ensure the stability of the build, and let the players test all the other changes made following Phase 2.

The Division 2 PTS Phase 3 Patch Notes:

We found the reason behind a prominent Delta error. It was caused by talents with stacking ability of gear and weapons. Therefore, we have removed the “Heartbreaker” set and the “Catharsis” mask from the PTS saves and from most places we could in time. If you come across it in anyway, we ask you not to use it. Fixing this issue is the number one priority for the TU15 release.

Changelog

Expertise

  • The cost of Field Recon Data, SHD Calibration and Exotics Materials is now reduced by half from level 11 up to level 20.
    • Levels 1-10 and 21+ remain unchanged.
  • Reduced the materials requirements for all ranks of Gear pieces by half.
  • Upgrading armor now gives 1% Armor on the individual piece rather than 1% Total Armor.
  • Fixed the issues with the Exotic SMG “Lady Death” not receiving a damage increase after being upgraded.
  • Fixed the issue with the Bonus Armor from upgraded gear being received only after unequipping and then re-equipping the said gear.
  • It is no longer possible to upgrade items that are not in the inventory
  • UI changes:
    • Added the “Donate All Junk” button in the main Expertise menu.
    • Using the “Donate All Junk” button from the Expertise menu does not result in donating all the items anymore.
    • “Donate All Materials” button does now changes to greyed out when the player has no materials.
      • Now you can preview how much materials it is going to take when you donate them.
    • “Donate Resource” no longer has the same function as the “Donate All Materials” button when interacted with in the Expertise menu.
    • Fixed the issue with the Expertise menu disappearing when pressing the “Mark As” button.

Countdown

  • Fixed fog intensity to prevent it from affecting the gameplay.
  • Social menu UI is no longer missing from Countdown.
  • Fixed the invisible bullet collision hinders the agent combat at one location.

Gear and Weapons

  • “Heartbreaker” Gear Set
    • The “Heartbreaker” mask should now give blue (defense) stats.
    • Two stacks are now lost per second.
  • “Kingbreaker” rate of fire is upgraded to from 500 to 650 TKB-408.
  • Assault Rifle rate of fire is upgraded to from 500 to 650.
  • The “Dare” LMG can no longer be equipped with AR attachments.
  • “Bluescreen” Exotic Weapon
    • Fixed the issues with the Exotic Weapon “Bluescreen” not having the exclusive skin.
    • Fixed the issue with the “Disruptor Rounds” Talent of the Exotic Weapon “Bluescreen” that could not be triggered.
    • Fixed the issues with the Focus Talent not working with the new exotic “Dread Edict.

Other

  • The issue with the character appearing as a floating head after booting the PTS for the first time is now fixed.

Known Issues

  • Heartbreaker Gear set and Catharsis Mask are removed from the PTS3 build as it causes Delta 03 errors and can result in game crashes.
  • Multiple incomplete groups created instead of a full group while matchmaking for Countdown.
  • The “Bluescreen” Exotic’s talent continues to stack without the player shooting when using the Vile Mask.
  • Countdown groups are pulled in dark hours when group leader presses the “Start the Matchmake” for the Countdown while having invite pop up on pending.
  • The player may get stuck in an unresponsive menu if opening the seasons Menu in Megamap/Manhunt as the Season is missing from the game.
    • The only workaround is to force close the game

No word yet on when Title Update 15 will be released, but once we know more, we’ll let our readers know.
