Funcom has released the Conan Exiles update 1.78 patch this January 26, and this one is for Server Queue features and more! Head on down below for the complete patch notes.

Conan Exiles Update 1.78 Patch Notes | Conan Exile Update 2.8 Patch Notes:

notes

performance

  • Fixed a number of crashing issues. This should result in better game stability.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash after starting a coop game.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause rain to affect performance significantly.

exploits

  • Fixed a number of exploits regarding stamina consumption and undermeshing.
  • It should no longer be possible to place fence foundations too close to each other by exploiting building mechanics. Read more about this fix in this separate post 23.

newadditions

  • Added new queuing system when joining a server. When attempting to join a server that is currently full, you will automatically be queued.
    • New UI elements now show your queued status, as well as your position in the queue.
    • Two new server settings have been added to control this new feature: EnableLoginQueue (default True), and DisconnectionGraceTime (default 180, in seconds).
  • It is now possible to assign emotes to followers!
    • Humanoid NPCs can now generally play any of the existing player-learned emotes.
    • Scattered across the Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah, you can now find new interactables that will unlock new emotes you can assign to your followers and pets!

building

  • The Nemedian Frame will now leave a ghost item when the last in the stack is used up.
  • Stage floors should now be possible to place next to door frames and fence foundations.
  • Raised the Large Campfire and all Tanneries up slightly to make them flush with the ground when placed.
  • Fixed an issue in regards to Gate Frames losing stability when placed under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed a number of building issues reported during the Testlive period.
  • Fixed a critical issue that caused placeables to lose stability under specific circumstances.

crafting

  • Fixed a number of issues that caused some feats to be missing after learning them under specific circumstances.

combat

  • Fixed an issue where left-hand sided attacks from a mounted rhino would not cause damage.
  • Fixed a rare issue where thralls would remain in a state where they could not attack nor get attacked under specific circumstances.
  • You asked, we delivered: The ranged attack of Spitting Spiders has now been fixed and your nightmares can finally be fueled from a distance. Other ranged creatures have also been fixed, but they are not as terrifying as Spitting Spiders are they.

ai

  • Mammoths now rotate in a less janky way.
  • Shaggai Horror pets now have a projectile for their ranged attack.
  • Rhinos should no longer moonwalk out of combat, probably making this the most sad and disappointing patchnote line since the potion of endowment nerf.
  • NPCs should no longer move when performing ranged attacks.
  • The Undead nations of the Sanctuary of the Serpent signed a treaty and thus, Undead Archers and Undead Hyenas should no longer attack each other. For now.
  • Fixed additional issues where thralls and NPCs would spawn with XX_Unarmed in their inventory.
  • Kraxus will now spawn where he’s supposed to at the rate he’s supposed to, the Bastard.
  • Thralls should no longer randomly fall through Nemedian Hatch Doors.
  • Thralls that have been knocked down should no longer forget their guarding location.
  • Thralls should now be able to engage with giant enemies correctly, instead of getting confused at the complex concept of a straight line.

purges

  • Fixed an issue where the Purge would spawn inside Treehouse bases.

balancing

  • Gold nodes should now require a minimum of 2 chops instead of 1, to avoid Exiled Cryptobros making this the new gold-seeking fad.

qol

  • Replacing a building piece will now give you back the piece if it is at full health, or the equivalent dismantle materials if the piece is damaged.
  • Swapped the input mapping when using bows with a controller to be more intuitive. You now aim with the left trigger, and shoot with the right trigger. A new setting lets you use the old system (“Invert Bow Controls”).

  • Unlocked fast travel locations should no longer be lost when transferring servers.
  • War Sickles should sheath correctly now.
  • The Sandstorm should no longer kill players in the Broken Highway if they have not crossed it yet, or if they load in that area while a Sandstorm is ongoing.
  • Some hair colors showed incorrectly. This has now been fixed. #abouttime
  • Fixed a number of issues in regards to the Server Queues system reported during Testlive.
  • Addressed a number of issues reported during Testlive related to the Follower Emotes system.
  • Fixed a visual issue found during Testlive where certain NPCs would have missing torso textures.
  • Fixed several issues found in regards to Grave Matters.

terrain

  • Fixed a number of visual imperfections across Siptah locations.
  • The Scorpion Den will now evict players that log out to the start of the dungeon, and will respawn dead players there as well.
  • We let it go and it should no longer snow inside the Temple of Frost.

animation

  • NPCs should now play certain threaten emotes when engaging or about to engage a target.
  • Pieces that are picked up and returned to the inventory at full health should no longer show dismantling animations/debris.
  • Did we mention that we added new emotes for followers and pets?

ui

  • Bravely pausing their hourly wheel of pain sessions, our #spellchekker team fixed another round of typos and grammar errors. Since there will probably be more typos out there that they missed, they’ve gone back to their mandatory exercises until further notice. #stillhiring
  • Stamina should no longer show less than 0 on the GUI.
  • Stormglass gate frame can no longer be climbed and mantled.
  • Health of a building that is being repaired should now update immediately.

Rumor: Gears of War Remastered Collection in the Works

It would seem that Microsoft and Xbox are taking a closer look at their catalog, with the company hoping to give Gears of War the same ‘Remastered Collection’ treatment it gave the Halo series! If true, this could be big news for those who miss playing multiplayer for the old Gears of War games and signal a boost for the franchise as a whole.

The rumor comes from Nick Baker, co-founder of XboxEra. During a recent podcast, Baker reveals in the rumor mill segment that a remastered collection for a “certain Microsoft franchise” may be in the works. While he does not outright say which franchise it is, Tom Warren of The Verge comments on the whole thing over on Twitter, stating:

the gears are really turning on this rumor

While this could essentially be nothing, it’s worth noting as several insiders have spoken on the rumor on this next remastered collection for Gears of War. However, as is with everything unconfirmed, take this one with a grain of salt until officially confirmed.

Halo Infinite Biggest Launch in Franchise History With Over 20 Million Players; Forza Horizon 5 at 18M

Microsoft has revealed that they’ve hit records for engagements in the Xbox division during last quarter, as Halo Infinite is confirmed to have had over 20 million players, with Forza Horizon 5 trailing close behind at 18 million.

As revealed during the quarterly financial earning, both Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 helped the company break records for overall engagement, as well as revenue during last quarter. Microsoft’s Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella noted that Halo Infinite’s launch was the franchise biggest launch in history, clocking over 20 million players. 343 followed up with this announcement, thanking their fans.

On the other front of exclusives that released during last quarter, Forza Horizon 5 also saw record breaking engagement, with over 18 million users having played the title since its release. It should be noted that both these titles are available on Game Pass, and in the case of Halo Infinite, its multiplayer component is free-to-play on both PC and Xbox platforms. Nonetheless, those numbers are impressive as well as being in line with Microsoft’s overall goals.

In case you haven’t already, be sure to read our Halo Infinite review! Our reviewer gave it high praise, stating the following, “All in all, Halo Infinite is a worthy entry to this legendary franchise. That is an achievement by itself. But what I really appreciated is the fact that 343 took risks. These risks are things that could have completely soured the experience and turned away even the most diehard fans of the franchise. In the end though, those risks paid off. Infinite is in my opinion, 343’s best Halo title yet, and I couldn’t be more excited to see where it goes from here.”

Paladins Update 2.47 Patch Notes; Deployed for Schism Update This Jan. 26

Evil Mojo has released Season 5 of Paladins today! The Paladins update 2.47 patch is out, and this is for Season 5 Schism Update! The major addition here is the new champion in VII, and a bunch of character changes. Read on for the Paladins January 26 patch notes.

Paladins Update 2.47 Patch Notes | Paladins Schism Update Patch Notes | Paladins January 26 Patch Notes:

New Champion: VII, Right Hand of the TribunalSince the very beginning, the Realm has been in peril. Be it calamitous threats rivaling the Scourges of old, or the unbridled ambitions of evil men, fate has always conspired against Realmkind. It was in defiance of this injustice that the Outer Tribunal was formed. But for true justice to prevail, the order would need more than pious Judges. They’d need an Executioner. Someone unburdened by the trappings of mercy who would ensure that judgements cast were judgements kept. VII is one whose past is chronicled upon the gravestones of the wicked. He is the grim reaper; a collector of tithes made in guilty blood. Like a phantom, he undertakes missions that would break most men, employing ruthless force and deadly precision. But then again, who’s to say he is even a man?OverviewPortrait: Image

General UpdatesDeveloper Commentary:In the coming year, and the new season, it’s important to the team that Paladins continue to grow, and that of course means trying new things. At the same time, we also want to find ways to improve the quality of existing features. There are examples of each in this patch, and we hope we’re on a great path forward to continue to deliver fun and exciting features to the community.Siege BeyondEvil Mojo wants to make 2022 the biggest year for Paladins ever! To do that, we’re planning 3 major feature shifts over the course of the year. For each of these, we’ll release them into the game for players to try out and give feedback on. We’re introducing a new version of Siege, “Siege: Beyond!” with the new features enabled. Current Siege rules will persist in the existing queue, renamed “Siege: Core”. None of the changes will immediately affect ranked, or non-Siege game modes. For each change (or Schism), if it’s something the players love, we’ll incorporate it into Paladins permanently. If they don’t, we’ll roll it back before trying the next Schism. The second one is expected in patch 3, and the third is planned for patch 5. The first is going live in this update – the item store Schism!Schism 1 – Item StoreWe’ve put together an entirely new item store! There are 3 focused tracks: Support, Tank, and Damage, as well as one Universal track. For any given stage of the store, players may choose one of 3 available items. By choosing the best option for your Champion out of 3, the system should be much easier for new players to learn. And with 12 stages of items to choose from as well as new types of items, the result is a greater strategic depth than our previous store. We expect this to offer the greatest degree of customization of Champions and play-style yet!Schism 2 and 3: TBA

Design & BalanceHealing and Cauterize

Since its inception, Cauterize has been used as a stopgap method to reduce Healing in a game and genre in which Healing is so important, Cauterize has been required for a match to feel “normal”. It becomes a necessary item to purchase, and a necessary item to balance itself, with other balance being done around it. We do not believe that Cauterize in its current form, regardless of the value of antiheal, is healthy in the long term for Paladins. As such, we’re changing how we approach Cauterize and Healing Reduction in general. Our aim is to introduce a passive version of Cauterize such that everyone has Cauterize applied by their inhand shots, scaling over the course of the match. This should help ensure Supports continue to feel impactful while also facilitating a healthier power curve for healing over the course of the match. As such, starting with the first update of 2022, we are introducing this new system.

  • Cauterize is no longer a purchasable item in the in-match store
    • It will be replaced with Provision
  • Cauterize’s former Anti-Healing effect will now be applied to everyone’s inhand at the start of every match at a base level, and then scale based on time and the game mode being played, to a max value
    • Initial Value: 25%
    • Maximum Value: 90%
  • The rate of this Cauterize scaling will vary based on the game mode being played

Items

  • Cauterize has been removed from the item store
  • New Red Item: Provision
    • Price: {250|500|750}
    • Description: Restore {15|30|45}% of your maximum Ammo after earning an Elimination.
  • Veteran
    • Current: Increase your base maximum Health by {4|8|12}%.
    • Increased scaling {4|8|12}% ➡️ {5|10|15}%
  • Rejuvenate
    • Current: Receive 6% more healing from other players.
    • Increased scaling {6|12|18}% ➡️ {7|14|21}%

Developer Commentary:After Cauterize itself, the biggest change here is the introduction of a new item to the store in its place. Obviously this is going to have an impact on many aspects of the game and individual matches. In support of this new Cauterize effect being baseline and this new item replacing it, we will be closely monitoring statistics and feedback, and making changes as appropriate until we find an appropriate balance.Azaan

  • Talents
    • Persistence
    • Current: Reduce the damage you take by 5% and gain 40% Lifesteal on your hits with Judgement.
    • Removed the 5% Damage Reduction granted by this talent.
  • Abilities
    • Sanctuary
    • Players can now refire this ability to destroy all of the currently active walls
    • Ire
    • The maximum Damage Reduction gained at max ire has been reduced from 20% ➡️ 15%
    • Judgement
    • Reduced maximum Range from 450 ➡️ 300
    • Conviction
    • Removed Crowd Control immunity and Debuff immunity during the Dash
  • Cards
    • Eternal Strife
    • Current: Using an ability above Ire threshold Heals you for {85|85}.
    • Reduced scaling {85|85} ➡️ {75|75}
    • Grim Deliverance
    • Current: Heal for {6|6} for every percentage point of Ire consumed by abilities.
    • Reduced scaling {6|6} -> {5|5}

Developer Commentary:We’ve heard the community sentiment around Azaan, and with the upcoming patch going live, he’s in for a significant adjustment. The biggest frustration for Azaan in many people’s view has been his ability to remain alive – his sustain – many of these changes are to address that, reducing his overall Healing and Damage Reduction in a multitude of spots to get him in a healthier position.Barik

  • Talents
    • Forgefire
    • Current: Dome Shield now costs 35% Ultimate charge and places a Flamethrower Turret with modified values and no Shield. Can have two active at once.
    • Increased Ultimate charge required to fire 35% ➡️ 40%

Developer Commentary:Barik is doing well right now. Forgefire is doing just slightly too well. Increasing the Ultimate charge required to fire this ability means its uptime will be more manageable when playing against him.Buck

  • Cards
    • Giga Siphon
    • Current: Increase your Movement Speed by {10|10}% while Recovery is active.
    • Increased scaling {10|10}% ➡️ 12|12%
    • No Escape
    • Current: Increase your Movement Speed by {5|5}% for 5s after getting a Killing Blow or Elimination.
    • Increased scaling {5|5}% ➡️ {7|7}%
    • Street Sweeper
    • Current: Increase your Reload Speed by {5|5}%.
    • Increased scaling {5|5}% ➡️ {7|7}%

Developer Commentary:Buck is in a fairly good state overall. These card changes are meant to be slight Quality of Life improvements when playing him.Evie

  • Cards
    • Great distance
    • Current: Increase the duration of Soar by {0.5|0.5}s.
    • Increased scaling {0.5|0.5}s ➡️ {0.55|0.55}s
    • Riftwalk
    • Current: Increase your Movement Speed by {8|8}% for 2s after using Blink.
    • Increased scaling {8|8}% ➡️ {10|10}%
    • Swift Witch
    • Current: Increase your Movement Speed during Soar by {5|5}%.
    • Increased scaling {5|5}% ➡️ {7|7}%
    • Chilled
    • Current: Increase your Reload Speed by {8|8}% for 4s after using Blink.
    • Increased scaling {8|8}% ➡️ {10|10}%
    • Avalanche
    • Current: Increase your Movement Speed by {8|8}% for 5s after getting a Killing Blow.
    • Increased scaling {8|8}% ➡️ {10|10}%

Developer Commentary:Similarly to Buck, Evie is in a pretty good spot overall. These card changes are meant to broaden the range of viable playstyles available to those who prefer the Ice Witch.Fernando

  • Talents
    • Aegis
    • Increased time until Shield starts recharging at full speed after taking damage
    • 1.2s ➡️ 1.35s
    • Decreased percentage of Shield recharge while Shield is active
    • 0.275% ➡️ 0.225%
    • Increased percentage of Shield required to bring the Shield up after being broken
    • 20% ➡️ 25%
    • Decreased base Shield Health
    • 5500 ➡️ 5200

Developer Commentary:Fernando is still among the highest pick and ban rates, in addition to performing well across all groups, specifically with Aegis. These changes further tone down Aegis’ effectiveness. We’re hoping to bring him to a place where Aegis is one of several viable ways to play Fernando, and making playing more enjoyable and interesting. Flair Furia

  • Talents
    • Cherish
    • Current: Kindle Soul Heals up to 15% additional Health based on your ally’s missing Health and its range is increased by 300%.
    • Increased scaling 15% ➡️ 20%

Developer Commentary:We’re hoping that an increase in the effectiveness of Cherish, although not fully back to its previous level, will bring this Furia playstyle further into a “just right” spot compared to others.Grohk

  • Talents
    • Totemic Ward
    • Current: Gain a third charge of Healing Totem and increase their healing by 10%.
    • Increased totem healing bonus 10% ➡️ 15%

Developer Commentary:Many have asked for an increase in the effectiveness of the Support Grohk playstyle. There is still more to do to get the Orc to be where he needs to be, but this will bring Totemic Ward slightly closer in effectiveness to other talent choices.Inara

  • Abilities
    • Seismic Crash
    • Reduced the time before you throw your spear from 1.5s ➡️ 1.4s
    • Stone Spear
    • Increased the effective range 75 units ➡️ 85 units

Developer Commentary:Inara has always been pretty rock solid, but still looked like she could use some love. These are small quality of life changes that should make playing her feel better. We will continue to monitor her and make changes as necessary.Jenos

  • Talents
    • Luminary
    • Current: All allies already affected by Astral Mark are Healed for an additional 250 when you use Astral Mark.
    • Increased value 250 ➡️ 285
  • Abilities
    • Astral Mark
    • Current: Apply a celestial blessing that passes through obstacles to heal allies for 300 and an additional 180 every 1s for 10s.
    • Increased the Healing over Time component 180 every 1s ➡️ 200 every 1s

Developer Commentary:We’ve seen Jenos underperforming. Buffing two aspects of his Healing has a risk of pushing him over the edge into too good, so we’re hoping to get some clear feedback during the PTS cycle to let us know how Jenos’s new point of balance sits in light of these changes.Khan

  • Talents
    • Vortex Grip
    • Current: Targets hit by Commander’s Grab are Stunned for an additional 1.2s.
    • Stun duration increased 1.2s ➡️ 1.4s

Developer Commentary:With the prevalence of Crowd Control reduction as well as a more recent decline in Khan’s effectiveness, we wanted to increase the comparative value of Vortex Grip among his talents.Lian

  • Talents
    • Alacrity
    • Current: Reduce the Cooldown of Grace by 1s and cause Grace to hit all enemies in front of you instead of only one.
    • New: Grace now hits all enemies in front of you instead of only one, but its Cooldown is increased by 1s.

Developer Commentary:While early feedback about Lian’s recent nerfs were positive, the frustration surrounding Alacrity is still prevalent. This change directly reduces her ability to utilize that combo for those playing against her.Makoa

  • Abilities
    • Cannon
    • Increased per-shot Damage 550 ➡️ 575
  • Cards
    • Determination
    • Current: Increase your Healing received from other players by {5|5}% while at or below 50% Health.
    • Increased scaling {5|5}% ➡️ {6|6}%
    • Tidal Grace
    • Current: Heal for {50|50} every 1s while Shell Shield is active.
    • Increased scaling {50|50} ➡️ {55|55}
    • Sea Legs
    • Current: Heal for {100|100} after hitting an enemy with Dredge Anchor.
    • Increased scaling {100|100} ➡️ {110|110}

Developer Commentary:We’ve seen Makoa fall by the wayside recently in several respects. A buff to his inhand damage should help make him overall more effective and beyond that a buff to some of his sustain is the start of bringing him closer to where we would like to see him to when compared to other Frontlines.Pip

  • Talents
    • Combat Medic
    • Current: Potion Launcher also Heals allies hit for 750. You no longer take damage from your weapon shots.
    • New: Combat Medic now also increases the rate of fire of Potion Launcher by 10%

Developer Commentary:Pip has always been fun for those who enjoyed him, and Combat Medic in particular is a unique playstyle that can be very enjoyable. This change increases the effectiveness of that playstyle, but is also one we hope to hear feedback for and will keep a close eye on during the PTS cycle.Saati

  • Abilities
    • Ricochet
    • Increased the collision radius of the coin by 20%
    • Now targets the closest enemy on initial hit and the lowest Health enemy in its range for subsequent shots
    • Wallbang
    • Increased the size of Wallbang’s projectiles

Developer Commentary:These quality of life changes are meant to make Saati’s Wallbang feel better to use, and Ricochet to be easier to confirm and a more gratifying expenditure of pips.Skye

  • Base Health
    • 2000 -> 2100
  • Base Movement Speed
    • 380 -> 390

Developer Commentary:Skye is in a unique position as a Champion who relies heavily on a mechanic that can be challenging to play against, especially with her ability to gain effectiveness the better she does in a match, so we want to be strategic in how she is adjusted. That being said, we want to see her be more than she is right now, so we have increased both her base Health for better survival and her base Movement Speed, to increase her ability to be where she needs to be to make an impact.Talus

  • Talents
    • Inner Strength
    • Current: Reset the Cooldown of Overcharge and Blitz Upper when you Teleport using Rune of Travel.
    • New: Reduce the Cooldown of Overcharge and Blitz Upper by 6s when you Teleport using Rune of Travel.

Developer Commentary:Talus still finds himself uniquely performing in certain situations, especially with the Inner Strength reset of his abilities. With this change, he should still find this talent useful but it is no longer a hard reset of his abilities regardless of their current cooldowns.Torvald

  • Abilities
    • Hyper Beam
    • Now grants Crowd Control immunity for its duration
    • Gauntlet
    • Damage per-shot increased 190 ➡️ 200
    • Nullify
    • Reduced the Movement Speed penalty during use 40% ➡️ 30%
  • Cards
    • Eldritch Speed
    • Old: Increase your Movement Speed by {10|10} while using Recharge.
    • New: Increase your Movement Speed by {10|10} for 3s after activating Recharge

Developer Commentary:Many wonder where Torvald will end up. While we still have plans for him, we’re buffing a few different aspects of this Champion in the meanwhile to help out while we work on a better permanent solution.Tyra

  • Abilities
    • Fire Bomb
    • Updated text to reflect older balance change which removed Healing Reduction on base ability

Developer Commentary:This just clarifies the description to match what has been the case for several of updates, now.Vora

  • Abilities
    • Harbinger’s Wrath
    • Removed the Damage immunity at the start of the Ultimate
    • Deadly Scythe
    • Reduced the size of the projectiles by 10%
  • Talents
    • Deafening Silence
    • Current: Obliteration now Silences enemies hit for 1.5s.
    • Increased the duration of the Silence 1.5s ➡️ 1.65s

Developer Commentary:Vora is in a pretty solid spot, but there are certain aspects of her kit that can be particularly frustrating to play against. Her Ultimate, Harbinger’s Wrath, has two moments in which Vora is unable to take damage: at the start of using the Ultimate and during her Execution animation. This change removes the immunity at the start of her Ultimate. Her projectiles losing about 10% of their size also helps reduce cases where players feel they have been hit in circumstances they should not have been – “I was around the corner!”. Deafening Silence should now have slightly more value compared to her other two talents with that change.Yagorath

  • Abilities
    • Hardened Carapace
    • Reduce the benefits of Damage Reduction 35% ➡️ 30%
    • Devour
    • Increased time until pulling the enemy starts from 0.5s ➡️ 1.0s
    • Reduced the speed of pulling the target towards Yagorath by 5%
    • Reduced Yagorath’s Health while in Ultimate form from 3500 ➡️ 3300

Developer Commentary:Yagorath persists as one of the most high-performing Champions, and we hear your concerns about pain points when playing against her. It is our hope that by further reducing her base Damage Reduction we’ll bring her overall effectiveness to a healthier spot, and these are some of the changes – but not all – in mind for shifting some of the frustration out of players being caught in her Ultimate, especially at close ranges.

Public Test Server (PTS)PTS appears to be live already, so if you want to check out the new changes, you are more than welcome to do so.

Black Desert Update 2.22 for Deve’s Encylopedia This January 26

Pearl Abyss has released the Black Desert update 2.22 patch for consoles this January 26, and this is for the Deve’s Encylopedia Adventure Log title update! There’s a lot to take in, so read on for the Black Desert Online January 26 patch notes below.

Black Desert Update 2.22 Patch Notes | Black Desert January 26 Patch Notes:

Deve’s Encyclopedia

● Deve’s Encylopedia was added.

– Deve’s Encylopedia is a new adventure log where you will need to go out and collect various items from across the Black Desert world. You can find the Adventure Log through the Start>Adventure>Adventure Log Bookshelf

– In order to proceed with the Deve’s Encyclopedia, you must collect items that match the goal of Deve’s Encyclopedia and bring the items that are in your inventory to Deve, the storage manager of Altinova, for him to see. For example, if the goal is ‘Collect Ores (7 types)’, then you will need to obtain one of the countless ores in Black Desert and show them to Deve.

– When a goal is complete, the effect will be applied to all characters of the family (HP increase, Weight Limit Increase etc.) Adventurers may also discover hidden bonuses along the way.

– A character must be level 56 or higher, and have completed the Mediah Main quest as well as their awakening quest in order to accept the ‘Encyclopedia: A Book Written by a Genius or Fool’ quest from the Black Spirit, which is needed in order to proceed with the Deve’s Adventure Log.

Content Changes

● The typo that appears in the name of the quest required for the ‘Special Gift Exchange’ has been corrected.

● The following monsters now have a chance of dropping Caphras Stones when slaughtered during hunting.

● Added a new chapter to Rulupee’s Travel Log:

Number of Quests Required Reward
9999 Permanent Enhancement Chance +1

– To find the Ruluepee’s Travel Log, go to Menu>Adventure> Adventure Log Bookshelf> Rulupee’s Travel Log

Stabilization

● Work has been carried out to improve memory usage while outputting items.

● Data loading of characters and UI has been improved.

● Fixed an issue when after installing the game, the game session may abruptly end when loading in certain character data

Character Changes

● Changed Season characters to no longer attract monsters after summoning the Black Spirit.

– This also applies to monsters that have already gained the aggro of nearby Adventurers.

● Improved the Black Spirit’s Rage 100% and 200% skills to gain the following effects

100% Black Spirit’s Rage – Increase All AP +30 for 60 sec
– Increase Attack/Casting Speed +25% for 60 sec.
200% Black Spirit’s Rage – Increase All AP +50 for 60 sec
– Increase Attack/Casting Speed +40% for 60 sec.
Black Spirit’s Rage skills were originally designed as a type of “finishing move” that would provide a sudden burst of thrill and excitement in battle. However, currently it’s more efficient to maintain the Rage Absorption buff instead of using the Black Spirit’s Rage skill. Thus, we made some adjustments so that players would be encouraged to use these skills. Now when you use Black Spirit skills at 100% and 200% rage, you will obtain the buff effects for a certain period of time. We’ve also adjusted the damage for using Black Spirit skills at 200% rage, and are currently looking into adjusting damage numbers for 100% Black Spirit’s Rage skills as well. With this update, we hope that our Adventurers will enjoy feeling like the main character of an action movie from time to time on the battlefield.

● It has been changed so that the effects of Rage Absorption (Common) and Rage Absorption (Innate) cannot be gained if you are under the effect of the 100%/200% Black Spirit’s Rage skill effects.
● It has been changed so that if you are under the effects of the Rage Absorption (Innate) skill, you cannot gain the effects of the Rage Absorption (common) or the 100%/200% Black Spirit Rage Skill buffs.

● Improved to combo into other skills more smoothly when being hit continuously while moving backwards or during the guard for skills listed in the following classes.

Class Skill Name
Warrior Guard, Greatsword Defense
Sorceress Cartian’s Protection
Tamer Rain Curtain
Valkyrie Guard
Witch Protection of Crevice
Maehwa Full Moon Wall
Kunoichi Lunar Veil
Ninja L1/LB to go into guard with your sura katana.
Dark Knight Dark Shadow
For the aforementioned classes, there were certain situations in which you couldn’t control your character until the Guard Gauge was at 0, as you couldn’t use other skills when struck continuously while moving backward or using the guard skills in the above chart. We made improvements so that you can now more easily use other skills without having to be exposed to such situations.

Destruction AllStars Update 3.000.001 Patch Notes | Destruction AllStars January 26 Patch Notes:

When: Deployment begins at 12:00 noon UTC

Size: Aprox 12GB (may slightly vary)

Downtime: Upto 1 hour. Usually much less.

Front-end & UI

  • The top page of the UI will now be a 3d scene and navigated via an L1/R1 Tab menu.
  • The character changes based on your previously used character. If you’re in a party, your party-mates will appear as 3d characters behind you
  • AllStar Pass is being removed.
  • The UX for Customise is also being switched to a tabs system and will now be navigated with L2/R2.
  • The character select carousel is being removed and replaced with a grid.
  • Avatars and banners will change to a grid style selection
  • Practice has been renamed Training.
  • Training is being streamlined. The tutorial level has been simplified, down from 16 steps to 8 and will no longer be compulsory.
  • The training section now includes multiple training videos, split into 5 sections
    • FUNDAMENTALS
    • ON FOOT
    • IN VEHICLE
    • ALLSTARS
    • GAMEPLAY
  • Arcade and PhotoMode are now combined in their own Tab section accessible with the L2/R2 buttons.

Profile
The profile tab has had the following changes.

  • The rewards for ranking up are clearer on the progress page.
  • There will be base level stats on the progress page.
  • The badges page is being slightly adjusted to show more badges.
  • We have removed the total XP number and replaced it with XP Remaining to the next level.

New content notification

There is now a more detailed info system in the UI to show when you have unlocked some new content or an unseen challenge.

Orange pips will appear to indicate something has updated in the game, they will show up for the following reasons in the main menu.

  • The shop has updated
  • A new story mode is available
  • An new XP level has been reached
  • New unseen challenge

They are cleared by visiting the relevant area in the UI. Less time wondering and searching!

Postgame Rollover

Postgame/rollover is being streamlined so players can get to the next match quicker

  • You’ll be able to matchmake straight from the postgame podium screen and won’t have to return to the main menu.
  • The mini leaderboard from the match is shown on the podium HUD.
  • Challenges are shown on the podium HUD.
  • The Podium Art is being updated.
  • Ranking-up and unlocked items will only be shown when leaving the queue and returning to the main menu.

Hit Messaging Revision

  • Upon hitting and slamming into another player, the UI has been redesigned to give a more impactful feeling and give the player more feedback with the following visual cues.

On a successful hit or slam, small crystals will be seen adding to your point counter with the following colours correlating to the size of your impact.

  • Green-light hit
  • Orange-medium hit
  • Red-heavy hit
  • Impacts will now also show a floating number to show the amount of damage inflicted
  • Vehicle health is now called out by smoke/fire FX on the vehicle as well as in the UI. The more damaged your car is, the more it catches fire!

Other hud revisions

  • Voice comms icon moved to mid right.
  • Minimap moved to the top right.
  • Remote Damage messaging moved to the Left side of the HUD.
  • World Event Messaging on the Right side of the HUD.
  • Badges have also been moved to the centre.

Training & Onboarding

Tutorial
-The tutorial/Ignition level is being heavily simplified, down from 16 steps to 8 and will no longer be compulsory.
Welcoming challenges

  • Training will also be supplemented by a series of Welcoming Challenges. These sit alongside daily and weekly challenges but there’s a limited number of them.
When all welcoming challenges have been completed, the whole system disappears from the UI.

Training Videos

We wanted to make our selection of training material much more accessible and easier to understand for all players, new and old. (You might learn something new, who knows?!) So, we’ve completely redesigned our training section in-game with in-depth explanations and videos to explain nearly everything you can do whilst playing. These are all broken down into their own relevant sections with multiple videos in each.

The Fundamentals
On-Foot
In Vehicle
AllStars
Game Play

Party & XP Changes

  • There is now an xp bonus for playing in a party. The bonus is set to 20%
    • The small grey XP icon in the bottom right of the hud is an indicator of this bonus’ status. It will turn green when you’re in an in-game party.
    • Limit changed to 3 players, down from 4.
    • Party renamed to AllStars Squad
    • Players can party up and enter Solo modes together.

Match XP Bonus

  • There will also be a consecutive bonus of 5000 XP, if you queue for another game without going back to the main menu.

Voice comms

Voice comms are being slightly simplified.

  • A party will no longer be created for lone players. You’ll have to have an invite accepted to start one.
  • The icons for toggling game chat will be standardised across the game
    • The icons will be added to the character select and the in-game pause menu
    • Will represent the current state of the local players voice comms, if the green icon is showing then they’re in the game chat, if it’s red, they’ve muted game chat.
    • If players are in a player session, we’ll grey out the icons.
  • Adding a muted icon to signify when players are muted/not in game chat.

Wreckognition

The Wreckognition system is being entirely replaced with a new combo system for rewarding skillful play.
Have a look at our previous Dev Update blog for information about Wreckognition and our explanation video here.

Gameplay Balancing

General

  • When vehicles are low health, smoke and fire will message the state of the vehicle.
  • Levels of smoke and fire will increase as vehicle health gets lower.
  • Rebalancing the cameras shake timers to match when slamming.
  • Wheel health adjusted to prevent nudges and single hits from causing wheels to come off.

Shards

  • The amount of shards has been reduced across all maps.
  • Pick-up of shards has been locked out when both abilities are fully charged and ready to use and they will appear in a greyed-out state.

On-foot speed and recovery times.

  • On-foot character speeds were previously fairly arbitrarily assigned. They are now being normalised around 3 archetypes; Fast, Agile & Tough.
Evade and roll speeds will be tweaked as well, along with the impulses that characters receive from KO’s.

Fast: Alba, Genesis, Lupita, BlueFang, Hana, Angelo, Xander.

Agile: Shyft, BoxTop, Ratu, TwinkleRiot, Jian.
Tough: Ultimo Barricado, Fuego, Harmony, Sgt Rescue.

Double Jumping

  • Double-jump will no longer be a part of character breakers and will be available at all times.
To support this change, a small amount of changes to platform and shard positioning has been made throughout the game.

Revised character movement effects

  • There’s improvements being made to some movement VFX.

All the following moves will now have a large white stylised particle FX associated with them to give more feedback to your movements whilst on-foot.

  • Ricochet (3 variants of this depending on angle of wall approach)
  • Double Jump
  • Barge
  • Vehicle Eject
  • Vault Boost
  • Landing Boost

Takeover/Wreckover

  • Takeover and wreckover has been considerably simplified. The minigame has been entirely removed as we felt this was more of a lucky guess and heavily in favour of who started hitting the Square or Circle button first by sheer chance.
Players on-foot will be able to initiate a Takeover/Wreckover after a successful evade.
The person being attacked (in the vehicle) will have a chance to repel Takeover/Wreckover attempts by performing a forward slam within a time window to throw the attacking player off.
If they do not slam forward in time, the Takeover/Wreckover option will appear for the attacking player to choose from.

Character Balancing

All Characters

  • Removed differences between classes on wall run distances, ledge hang durations and Vehicle interaction radius.
  • Adjusted jump speeds for all including vault edge boost.
  • Barge recovery has been reduced from 0.85s to 0.5s
  • All characters can now double jump without needing to activate their on-foot breaker.
  • Removed yellow marker and streamlined system to single red threat when a vehicle is nearby an on-foot player.
  • Increased the speed needed to trigger a plant turn to limit the number of character skids at low speeds.

Genesis

  • Genesis will have a sonic boom that will continuously fire and when she is running at top speed the blast effect will be bigger.
  • – This boom will blast on-foot opponents out of the way.
  • – This boom will damage and push vehicles.
  • – Damaging vehicles and knocking down rivals will trigger score events.
  • – Top run speed will be reduced.

Shyft

  • Shyft now gets bonus score events when stealthed.

Xander

  • Messaging will be updated to relay the hit and impact from the mine.
  • Speed of mines dropping on the floor increased.

Ultimo

  • When Ultimo activates his ability he should not be able to be shaken off even during slams.

Harmony

  • VFX adjusted to better show the blast area of Harmony’s vehicle breaker.
  • Force of barge increased by 20%
  • Hero vehicle ability cooldown reduced to 10s. (previously 12s)

Boxtop

  • Messaging will be updated to relay the hit and impact from their mines.
  • Speed of mines dropping to the floor increased.
  • Boxmobile’s slam cooldown is now 3.1s without ability active, and 2.5s with ability active

SGT. Rescue

  • Added ready lights to character to message ability ready state.
  • Increased the size and opacity levels of Sgt Rescue’s smoke.

Angelo

  • Flashbang will no longer trigger on emote.
  • Hero vehicle damage increased to x3.0 (previously x2.6)
  • Lock-on ability will now only target vehicles.
  • Lock-on ability will remain on the vehicle even if the target ejects.
  • Lock-on ability target is lost from vehicle if ownership is changed on target. (i.e a successful takeover)

Ratu

  • Increased on-foot breaker damage to vehicles to 20. (previously 10)
  • Overhauled VFX system to provide accurate representation of the ability blast range.

Bluefang

  • Guards now raise faster, delay of 0.1s added to shredding. This is a visual change only to better show when Bluefang’s vehicle ability is active.
  • Hero vehicle ability cooldown reduced to 22s. (previously 25s)

Jian

  • Hero Vehicle ability forward slam cooldown decreased to 2.5s (previously 2.8s)
  • Hero vehicle ability increased to 10s. (previously 8s)
  • Hero vehicle ability damage reduced to 30. (previously 50)

TwinkleRiot

  • Hero Vehicle ability forward slam reduced to 2.1s / 2s / 1.9s. (Previously 2.3s / 2.1s / 1.9s)
  • Hero Vehicle side slam reduced to 2s / 1.9s / 1.8s. (Previously 2s / 2s / 2s set in error)

Ratu

  • Overhauled VFX for in-vehicle breaker to accurately message range of blast and different radius of the blast rings. Range is unchanged.

Hana

  • Hero vehicle ability reduced to 8s (previously 12s)

Known Issues

  • Launching a Story Mode activity while in Photo Mode causes the game to soft lock, and will require a system reboot to solve.
  • Completed multiplayer matches may appear as activity cards that have no function.

Report: The Next Three Call of Duty Games Will Stay on PlayStation Consoles

Good news for Call of Duty fans who game on PlayStation platforms, as a it seems the next three Call of Duty video games will stay on PlayStation consoles for the time being even with Microsoft’s on-going acquisition of Activision-Blizzard!

In a new report by the reliable Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, four sources he talked with have confirmed that the next three Call of Duty games will be on PlayStation consoles. This includes Call of Duty 2022 (developed by Infinity Ward and is rumored to be Modern Warfare 2), Call of Duty 2023 (developed by Treyarch), as well as the 2023 release of Warzone 2.

This confirms Phil Spencer’s recent comments that he has a desire to keep COD games on PlayStation due to existing agreements between the two parties. What happens in 2024 and beyond is anyone’s guess, as Microsoft could make the COD series Xbox exclusive once the contractual agreements have been met.

Call of Duty 2022 has not been announced yet, but it’s likely to be released in the fall, with the official reveal happening in Warzone as has been the case the last few years.

Same as with any report not confirmed by official sources, treat this one with a grain of salt. Of course, Schreier has a very good track record, so we wouldn’t be surprised one bit if this turned out to be the case.

You Can Now Share PS5 Screenshots and Clips Using the PlayStation App

Sony has now added a neat new feature for the PlayStation App today. Players can now use the app to share their PS5 screenshots and video clips. This feature was in beta for Canada and Japan, but it looks like it’s now available for everyone. It appears the feature is only available for PS5 and not PS4 at the moment.

The maximum duration of the video clip that you can save is three minutes at a full 1080p resolution, and anything higher (like 4K video) is not shared. Only clips and screenshots when this feature has been enabled are available to share, so you cannot use older screnshots or clips you’ve saved before. Sadly, it looks like you cannot manually choose what you want to share and upload. There is only an auto-upload all option thus far. The feature is only available if you enable it for both the PlayStation App and PS5 platforms. Lastly, the material you share will be available in the PlayStation App for 14 days.

Here’s the official word from Sony regarding this new feature:

PlayStation App PS5 Screenshot and Video – How to Share:

Game captures on PlayStation App

By enabling this feature, your PS5 console will begin to auto-upload game captures to the cloud. Your captures of games will then be available in PlayStation App for 14 days after they are created on your PS5 console. The following captures will be uploaded:

  • Gameplay videos under 3 minutes long that are non-4K.
  • Screenshots taken from the Create Menu or Create button shortcuts.

You’ll be able to share captures with your PlayStation™Network friends or parties from the app, save them to your camera roll, or post them on social media platforms.

How to enable PS5 game captures on PlayStation App

In order for screenshots and videos to be auto-uploaded, make sure you have set up the following:

  • Your PS5 console needs to be linked to PlayStation App.
  • Your PS5 console needs to be left in rest mode and have the Stay Connected to the Internet setting enabled.

Link to PlayStation App

Stay Connected to the Internet

All the screenshots and clips you save can be shared to your PSN friends or parties using the app. You can also share them to social media too. You do not need to have PlayStation Plus to use this feature. It’s also worth mentioning trophies and auto-captures are not uploaded. These are only clips and screenshots that you save and share yourself.

Thanks, rubberpiggy12!

Tribes of Midgard Update 2.01 Released for Trophy Fix & More This January 25

Norsfell has released a Tribes of Midgard update 2.01 (PS5 version 2.001) which is for a specific fix, and also to prep the game for an upcoming bug fix patch. Check out the details in the Tribes of Midgard January 25 patch notes.

Tribes of Midgard Update 2.01 Patch Notes | Tribes of Midgard Update 2.001 Patch Notes | Tribes of Midgard January 25 Patch Notes:

Here’s the announcement from the studio:

Hiló Vikings 🛠
We’ve just deployed a hotfix to Tribes of Midgard to prepare for an upcoming bug fix update (coming soon)!

This hotfix also corrects an issue that caused PlayStation Trophy progress to not be recorded properly for Soul Spending trophies.

There’s no downtime with this hotfix, but you will need to close the game in order to download the update and benefit from the change.

Once we know more details regarding the upcoming bug fix, we’ll let our readers know. If you haven’t played the game yet, go check out our review here, where we state, “If you’re looking for something fresh, and fun to play with friends then Tribes of Midgard is the game to play. While it is a bit light in content at the moment, what Norsfell Games have created here is one beautiful mashup of different genres all in one package. While it’s not innovating, it certainly feels like a refreshing take.”

Sniper Elite 5 Invastion Mode, New Key Art Revealed

Rebellion released a brand new CGI trailer for Sniper Elite 5 hinting at the new Invasion Mode, which allows players to drop into each other’s campaigns and take on the role of an Axis Sniper with high rewards on the line.

Check out the new trailer created by Rebellion VFX that utilizes both in game and bespoke VFX assets with a tailored audio mix to create a stunning cinematic.

Sniper Elite 5: Invasion Mode

Since we announced Sniper Elite 5, the Community has been hot on our heels for more top secret intel on the new optional game mode and we don’t blame you soldiers!

Invasion Mode will bring a whole new dimension to the game’s intense drama and add increased diversity to the tactics that players will have to employ in order to complete their mission. The invading Axis Sniper will have the sole aim to eliminate the player while the Allied Sniper will gain an extra objective: take out the invader. Invasion Mode will also be available in co-operative play increasing the challenge for the Axis invader as they now have two Allies to track down, but offering greater rewards.

Invasion Mode will enable some unique skills for both players. The Axis invader can use of the AI Axis forces to help locate the Allied player. Tagging an Axis soldier will enable ‘Eagle Eyes’ which means that if that soldier spots the Allied Sniper then their last known location will be displayed on the map. The Axis Sniper can also instruct nearby soldiers to ‘Stay Sharp’, increasing their awareness. For the Allied Sniper, each level has invasion phones scattered around the map which the player can use to discover the last known location of their opponent. But beware, as not only can these phones be booby trapped, but overuse will raise suspicions and reveal the player’s location.

Successful Axis Snipers will be rewarded with weapons, items and skin unlocks while Allied Snipers can earn weapon and character skins by killing their opponent. You will also be awarded with additional XP for having Invasion Mode enabled.

In addition to the new trailer teasing the Sniper Elite 5 Invasion Mode, Rebellion has revealed the latest key art for Sniper Elite 5, featuring the elite marksman, Karl Fairburne.

sniper elite 5

As part of a covert US Rangers operation to weaken the Atlantikwall fortifications along the coast of Brittany, Karl makes contact with the French Resistance. Soon they uncover a secret Nazi project that threatens to end the war before the Allies can even invade Europe: Operation Kraken. It’s Karl’s mission to take out the high-ranking Nazi officers and end Operation Kraken once and for all.

Sniper Elite 5 will release on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 & 5, Epic, Steam, and the Windows Store in 2022. If you want to learn more about the game features, you can read about it here.

Blizzard Survival Game Confirmed to Be in Development, First Artworks Released

It seems Blizzard Entertainment is adding another new franchise into the studio’s portfolio, as the studio confirmed that a Blizzard survival game is currently being developed, and they are hiring!

While there’s no release date, title, or anything pertaining to gameplay was released today, the studio did release artworks for the game, as well as a confirmed the game is coming to consoles and PC. Check out an excerpt of the studio’s letter, artworks and open message for people to apply

Blizzard is embarking on our next quest. We are going on a journey to a whole new universe, home to a brand-new survival game for PC and console. A place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and adventures yet to be lived. A vast realm of possibility, waiting to be explored.

Every story needs a teller. And every world needs builders. What if that could be you?
For thirty years, Blizzard has been creating universes for millions of players around the globe. This requires a diverse team of developers willing to lend their voices, to listen and to be heard. That is our mission.
Do you like survival games? Do you want to join a collaborative team of experienced developers at the early stage of a new project in a new world…and help write the next chapter in Blizzard’s story?
This is your call to adventure. Will you answer it?

If you want to apply, the openings and requirements are listed here.

Apparently, the game is quite an experience, as Blizzard’s Mike Ybarra has mentioned that he’s incredibly excited with the team’s vision after playing “many hours” of this unannounced Blizzard survival game.

Even veteran games media reporter Jason Schreier has shared that for what it’s worth (FWIW), even disgruntled Blizzard employees were raving about the game, too.

Hopefully, we’ll know more about the game soon. That said, given we don’t even have firm release dates for Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 (and how both games got delayed), I wouldn’t count on this game being released anytime soon.

Super Animal Royale Update 1.07 Runs Out for v1.3 This January 25

Pixile has released the Super Animal Royale update 1.07 (PS5 version 1.005), and this is called the v1.3 patch by the developers. There’s a new Lunar New Year event, a new weapon, and more! Read on for the Super Animal Royale January 25 patch notes below.

Super Animal Royale Update 1.07 Patch Notes | Super Animal Royale Update 1.005 Patch Notes | Super Animal Royale v1.3 Patch Notes | Super Animal Royale January 25 Patch Notes:

New Weapon: BCG (Big Clucking Gun)

Super Eagle eyed players will have noticed that Thomas Sledison has been hard at work on an explosive new weapon, but the final form that has hatched in his workshop might not be what you eggspected…

The Big Clucking Gun (BCG) is a grenade launcher style weapon that shoots eggs that bounce off walls and explode on impact with enemies.

  • Egg explosions deal serious area of effect (AOE) damage and leave a sticky pile of egg yolk that slows anyone standing in it.
  • The gun uses a charge-up mechanic so you can control the distance your eggs will fly. The longer you hold down the fire button the further it’ll go!
  • The BCG is only available in epic (purple) and legendary (gold) rarities, and as such you’ll need to open rebel caches or mole crates to get your paws on one during a match. But you can always take it for a spin in the Super Shooting Gallery north of the Welcome Center while you’re waiting for your match to start.
  • It also comes with a full set of colored gun skins that you can earn by getting kills while using it to complete its milestones.
  • There will also be two premium skins making an appearance in the S.A.W. Shop: the Retro BCG and the Tiger BCG.

Note: the BCG is disabled in the “One Hit Kill” Mystery Mode.

Year of the Super Tiger Event

Play the 2022 Lunar New Year event from Jan 25 to Feb 15 and collect red envelopes to redeem for exclusive event cosmetic items! There’s 8 new items debuting this year:

  • Lunar Dress (2022)
  • Coin Glasses
  • Gold Yuanbao
  • Lunar Headband
  • Peach Blossom Hat
  • Lunar Flower
  • Lunar Paper Umbrella
  • Peach Blossom Branch

There’s also 16 returning legacy items from previous years, and you’ll be able to redeem red envelopes to collect each of these too until you own them all! Be sure to also check out Carl’s Cart during the event for some additional legacy items.

Year of the Super Tiger Breeds

To celebrate their lunar year, 4 new Super Tiger breeds are also arriving as permanent additions to the Research Lab:

  • Super Golden Tiger
  • Super Toy Tiger
  • Super Bengal Tiger
  • Super Lunar Tiger

Map Updates

S.A.W. Bamboo Resort has been updated for the Year of the Super Tiger!

  • The beavers have moved 2021’s Super Ox statue out of Bamboo Resort and into storage at Beaver Construction HQ, and replaced it with a new Super Tiger statue!
  • You’ll also find a new portrait of the tiger on the wall in the resort next to all the previous years’ animals.
  • The entrance gates are also now adorned with a new Spring Festival Couplet for the new year, provided again by the Chinese SAR community!

Beaver Construction HQ Updates

  • Increased size of the Forebeaver’s Den building in the north, added additional detail to the interior, and added some breakable mini beaver dams around it for cover.
  • Adjusted the dam’s wooden rails to be a bit shorter so they don’t poke out onto the boardwalks quite so much.
  • Added shadowing to the concrete floor in the workshop to better distinguish interior and exterior ground.
  • Added edge lip to outdoor concrete.
  • Added a curved concrete end-piece on the front-left of the dam, and extended the boardwalk on the front-right side of the dam.

More Island Improvements

  • Added snow grass throughout most of Thomas’s Tundra for more looting opportunities (and because it just looks really pretty).
  • Improved grass in several areas around the map that were sparse, and updated some of the deciduous tree biomes with improved tree placement (both to provide a better mix of cover and open areas for fighting and to look more natural)
  • Made some collision/walkability improvements to the Super Animal Super Stage.
  • Adjusted some shipping containers in the top right corner of the military camp near research labs based on community feedback.

S.A.W. Shop Additions

New Mini Animals

Adopt 4 new mini pets from the Pets tab of the S.A.W. Shop!

  • Mini Sheep
  • Mini Skunk
  • Mini Deer
  • Mini Raccoon

Emotes, Lunar New Year, BCGs and Duos Day

The Shop tab in the main menu now displays an exclamation mark whenever new items have rotated in, and you’ll want to make sure to keep an eye on it around the update for all the new items! Some new items you’ll see rotating into the S.A.W. Shop include:

  • Rap emote
  • Country emote
  • Kumquat Tree (melee weapon)
  • Dragon JAG-7
  • Moneybag Gravestone
  • Tanghulu
  • Scimitar
  • Retro BCG
  • Tiger BCG

Note: the Dragon JAG-7 also has custom muzzle confetti effects.

Cupid’s Bow will also be returning on February 12th for 96 hours (we’re giving it two 48hr slots back to back so you have a bit of extra time to grab it for Duos Day)!

S.A.W. Shop Bundle Improvements

In addition to purchasing a full bundle at the discounted price, if you only like one or two items in a bundle you now also have the option to purchase individual items from the bundle at regular price. Just click on the bundle and navigate to any item within it!

Because of this new feature, bundle items won’t be rotating through the shop in individual slots anymore, they’ll just be accessible from their bundle whenever it’s available. As always, if you own any individual items from a bundle, you’ll still be able to purchase the rest of the bundle together at a discount to complete your set.

We’re also debuting a new bundle!

The Ming Bundle includes:

  • Ming Hat
  • Ming Outfit
  • Ming Dress

Hamster Ball Update

We’ve made a bunch of key refinements to gameplay in this patch, and the first one is one we think a lot of you will be happy to see: an update that makes hamster ball kills feel a whole lot better whether you’re the one getting the kill or on the receiving end.

  • Hamster balls now take a bit longer to reach the point where they’ll get a 1-hit kill.
  • Once you’ve been rolling at max speed for at least one second, speed lines will appear and a sound will play indicating that you’ve now entered full damage mode where a hit will score 101 damage and kill your opponent upon impact.
  • Before the speed lines appear, hamster balls will only do up to 80 damage (still influenced by acceleration for precisely how much damage you do).
  • From our play tests we think this mechanic helps a lot with clarity and makes rolling at full speed and getting kills feel extra satisfying. We’ve also added a rare easter egg animation where your animal can trip while in the ball (just for fun, this doesn’t impact gameplay in any way).

More Gameplay Updates

  • Sparrows, Darts, and BCG egg ammo have been combined into a single new ‘Specialty Ammo’ that is used in all 3 weapons.
  • The Bandolier boosts max carrying capacity for the new Specialty Ammo from 35 to 50 (previously Sparrows and Darts were boosted from 35 to 45)
  • Sparrow Launcher clip size increased to 5.
  • Dogna’s Dart Gun will now auto-fire darts if you hold down shoot.
  • A visual dart now appears stuck into the animal when they’ve been hit and are being actively poisoned by Dogna’s Dart Gun.
  • Grenades & BCG egg impacts now play the “hit” sound effect when you hit yourself with them.
  • Grenades, Bananas, Skunks Bombs, and BCG eggs now make bounce sounds when bouncing off of walls.
  • Bananas no longer deploy in deep water (ex. ocean), and all throwables will splash upon landing in the water. Grenades and eggs still do damage and Skunk Bombs deploy despite splashing into the water, but eggs do not create yolk traps in deep water.
  • Traps (ie. bananas, Skunk Bombs, and BCG yolks) will now have their positions checked and corrected by the server upon landing. Server simulation should rarely differ from client, so this shouldn’t occur very often but helps make them more precise.
  • Minigun (and the new BCG) aiming should now more closely and consistently match the cursor’s aim (added a new aiming bone on the character skeleton for guns held in the low position).
  • Added a small release buffer at the start of a jump roll for charged weapons such as the Bow & Sparrow and BCG. This should improve the feeling of releasing the bow while rolling. There was already a small buffer at the end of jump rolls, which is staying the same, so this just adds something similar to the beginning of the roll.
  • Shooting right after reloading or picking up an item will now force the player model into the aim animation, which fixes a long-standing issue where bullets would spawn at undesired angles while the animal was completing an animation.
  • Added custom muzzle flower effect to the Sakura Sniper from the Early Access (Season 0) Animal Pass.
  • Weighted the random positions of skunk gas circles to get them to appear closer to the edges of the map more frequently. The previous randomness favored the middle of the island slightly, whereas the new randomness is more evenly distributed around the whole island.
  • Added fading to one of the Beaver Construction HQ wall pieces that was able to obscure players too much.
  • In the Bwoking Dead mode, when Zombie Joes break crates or cut grass, loot will not drop (so zombies can now deny ammo to survivors by breaking these things).
  • Changed texture atlas for Bwoking Dead’s opening noise effect to be individual sprites that are loaded from the hard drive only when someone plays Bwoking Dead (cuts down load size by 8MB).

Controller Improvements

  • Added controller hotkey icons to the game interface for taping, healing, and weapon-swap.
  • ‘Switch Weapon’ bindings for controller will now conflict with inventory bindings to prevent double-binding issues.
  • Controller users now have separate bindings for ‘Quick Chat (Inventory)’ and ‘Quick Chat (Map)’, to prevent conflicts.
  • Improved controller selection in most of the shop tabs, where it will now re-select the last item properly after cancelling a purchase or equipping something.

Menu/Interface Updates

  • Added a “Manage Party” UI for party hosts that groups all party-related options together including viewing/copying the invite code for cross-play parties, kicking players, and leaving the party.
  • Kicking a player from a party will now trigger a popup message and sound.
  • The PC version of SAR now displays a ‘COPIED TO CLIPBOARD!’ popup when you click the copy button to indicate that it successfully copied to your clipboard.
  • The mode selector will now display an exclamation mark if a new limited-time game mode becomes available to play.
  • Increased clarity around Super Edition requirements in the Milestones tab, with a helper label that better explains which milestones require the Super Edition DLC. Additionally, the in-game notification for completing a milestone will now more clearly indicate whether it’s a Super Edition Milestone.
  • When you first open the holiday event UI, the event’s leaderboard button now has a subtle slide animation to help draw attention to it.
  • Updated all buttons throughout the menus that were still using the old blue button style to instead use the new teal style.
  • Added a subtle fade/slide animation when viewing the S.A.W. Shop bundle details screen.
  • A.W. Shop bundle preview images are no longer pre-loaded at game launch, instead being loaded from the hard drive when you view the shop (reduces initial game load time).
  • Translation updates for several languages.
  • For Simplified Chinese users, the Discord button in the main menu will now link to the SAR QQ group instead.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where one account could join the same cross-play lobby from two devices/platforms.
  • Event screen’s character should no longer glitch out on the first frame.
  • Fixed the animal pass preview box’s second pass from showing template blue hat while loading.
  • Coupon code placeholder text should no longer be cut off in certain languages.
  • Fixed a bug where the main menu’s side menu would fail to make elections if a controller was activated while it was open.
  • Fixed a controller navigation bug with the ‘Done’ button and the arrow buttons on the Stats screen.
  • Fixed controller selection going blank after leaving a party.
  • Fixed a bug where controller selection wouldn’t properly revert to the purchase button after cancelling a bundle purchase.
  • Alt-tabbing in the main menu will now cancel your emote if you were emoting (fixes an audio issue).
  • Fixed an audio glitch caused by changing volume while emoting on the main menu.
  • Hotkey icons for the inventory UI will no longer display while spectating another player.
  • Fixed a case where players could get stuck in the grenade throw animation: it will now auto-cancel after 2s if the grenade has not already been thrown.
  • Map can no longer be opened while the Settings screen is open.
  • Fixed minigun retaining charge when opening the Settings screen while shooting.
  • Fixed melee hit sounds on shooting gallery targets being played for all nearby players in the lobby.
  • End-game rewards now force close player inventory if it was open. This fixes a bug for controller users where navigation got stuck and inventory was still displaying in a broken state.
  • Fixed visual bug with bots reloading and appearing to have negative ammo.
  • Bwoking Dead clientside Skunk Bomb capacity issue should be fixed.
  • Dropping the Cupgrade while drinking with it equipped will now stop your healing (fixes audio bug).

Hell Let Loose Console Roadmap Revealed, Full Parity With PC Content Planned for 2022

Those playing Hell Let Loose on consoles, you’ll be glad to know that Black Matter Studios has released the Hell Let Loose console roadmap, and even promised that they are aiming for PC content parity before the year is out!

Related Reading: Can Battlefield 2042 Be Saved by Going Free-to-Play?

The announcement was made on Twitter, where an image of the Hell Let Loose console roadmap was also shared (which can be seen above).

We plan to bring console versions of HLL to full parity with PC content in 2022.
We want all platforms parallel, with future updates releasing in tandem.

Parity itself with PC will not be a form of paid DLC – we intend to release these updates for free.

We hope to have a date on the Eastern Front content soon, which is up next for you!

Keep working as a cohesive unit out there!

To further clarify: We’re working on performance tweaks and bug fixes, which will release alongside the Eastern Front content! Thank you for all your feedback so far 🙂

Given how Hell Let Loose isn’t considered as a AAA shooter, this is definitely impressive and appreciated from the studio. In other related news, Team17 has acquired the Hell Let Loose IP, with the details reported here.

Once we know more details about the Eastern Front content update, we’ll let our readers know.
