God of War Ragnarok Thor and New Characters First Look

It’s time to return to Norse mythology and meet new faces with Kratos and Atreus, as God of War Ragnarok sees Thor and other new characters get first look posters — showing the cast we will get to know in the highly anticipated sequel by Santa Monica Studio.

Here’s the new set of character posters that made its way out today, which features not only the return of Kratos and his son. We also get our first look at Thor, Angrboda, and so many other new and returning faces for this sequel. Check out the character renders via Raf Grassetti, Art Director of God of War, while Some have been shared by Shinobi.

The character posters were tweeted out by their respective voice actors such as Danielle Bisutti/ Freya, Adam J. Harrington/ Sindri, and Robert Craighead/ Brok.

As far as the plot goes, here’s a little excerpt from the PlayStation Blog feature explaining where things pick up after the events of the first game.

Atreus is desperately curious. Like most young people, he wants to understand who he is more than anything. In this case, he wants to understand who he could be. The mystery of Loki’s role in the upcoming conflict is something that Atreus cannot let go of. He wants to keep his family safe, but Atreus also doesn’t want to stand by and do nothing while conflict consumes the Nine Realms.

Kratos, still bearing the knowledge of his past mistakes, wants to spare Atreus the bloody lessons he learned from his conflict with gods. He wants to keep his son safe, above all, and their confrontation with Baldur has vindicated the belief that only tragedy will come from further entanglements with the Aesir.

Together, Kratos and Atreus will have to make a choice about which path they will take. Whatever they choose will define the fate of all those living in the Nine Realms as Ragnarök approaches.

If you haven’t seen the new God of War gameplay trailer that debuted at the PlayStation Showcase, watch it here.

Bloodhunt Is Coming to PS5 Later This Year, Here’s a First Look

If you’re looking for a new shooter to play later this year on your PS5, then you’ll have another choice to get your battle royale fix, as Bloodhunt has been announced for the PS5, and it’s due for release sometime in 2021!

Bloodhunt is a free-to-play battle royale spin-off of the Vampire: The Masquerade universe. Check out the announcement trailer, as well as early details straight from Sharkmob.

Bloodhunt features multiple clans. The Toreador clan vampires seem to be everything contemporary young humans aspire to become, but their talent and beauty are nothing but a hunter’s camouflage. The Brujah are violent visionaries and spiteful rebels. Their solutions are tainted by their anger and lack of self-control. And then we have the Nosferatu who thrive in the shadows and have spies and agents where you least expect it.

Each of the clans is represented by two vampiric archetypes that come with their unique set of abilities and powers, allowing for a wide variety of playstyles. Unparalleled traversal skills are shared by all and enable you to scale any buildings, defy gravity and strike from anywhere making room for even more creative combat strategies and unique battle scenarios.

Bloodhunt also provides deep customization features that let players create their ultimate vampires. We feature a large variety of clothing, tattoos, piercings, jewelry, hairstyles, make-up, and more in assorted styles of fashion and trends. A wide variety of vanity will be made available through the Battle Pass progression as well as through the in-game store.

Sharkmob has also confirmed that Bloodhunt on the PS5 will make full use of the DualSense controller, where players will be able to tell the differences between the caliber of the weapons via the adaptive triggers’ resistance. Expect 3D audio to be in full use as well.

No firm release date has been shared just yet, but it is out on PC in early access.

Gran Turismo 7 Release Date Revealed for PS4 and PS5

The PlayStation Showcase was filled with surprises for a lot of the platform’s fans, and every single big AAA game under the studio’s belt was basically given some screentime. For racing fans, they even got the Gran Turismo 7 release date announcement, accompanied by another fantastic trailer from developer Polyphonic Digital.

This PlayStation Showcase trailer basically confirmed the simultaneous release date for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game next year, on March 4. This means that players still on last-gen consoles can get to enjoy this new-gen game on their PS4s.

Kazunori Yamauchi, president of Polyphony Digital, also showed some words on Gran Turismo 7 via the PlayStation.Blog:

The cultural environment surrounding cars has changed greatly in the past 25 years. Those of us who were born in the rich car culture of the times created the first Gran Turismo game, so it may be difficult for the current generation of automotive purists to be in the same type of cultural environment as ourselves back then.

The objective for GT7 in current culture today, is to design a game to convey everything from the last 150 years of car and racing culture, whether you are a lifelong fan or discovering cars for the first time.

GT7 is both the culmination of the series which answers the expectations of GT fans throughout the years, and at the same time it is a title that marks a beginning of a difficult mission to contain the full breadth of car culture from the past into a single video game.

Gran Turismo 7 is arriving on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on March 4, 2022.

Cory Barlog Not Directing God of War Ragnarok, Confirms Studio Working on a “Bunch of Stuff”

At Sony’s PlayStation Showcase after event video chat, God of War 2018 Game Director Cory Barlog confirmed that he isn’t directing God of War Ragnarok, and is working on a “bunch of stuff.”

When asked by Sony PlayStation’s Sid Shuman on whether Barlog can give us a clue on what he’s working on, this is what the he (Barlog) had to say:

We’re actually doing a bunch of stuff. It’s really exciting all the things we’re doing, and you’re tempted to know, what is this? But I don’t really have anything I can talk about right now specifically. Mostly because we’re really focused on God of War Ragnarok.

I think we’ll wait to get any deeper into anything else until later. We’ll talk again, Sid.

Well, there you have it. Hopefully, God of War Ragnarok can retain the same level of quality that the 2018 version had. While Barlog’s current project remains a mystery, you can bet we’ll be keeping a close eye on anything about it, and will let our readers know.
